What would it take to prove that Evan was more than talking? Since he is so private, I don't think we would ever know this for most relationships. And to be sure, we will never know what he and Frances had (any more than we know what really went on with Haley or Halsey). We can only speculate. I think you make great points about them dating. For sure they did go out in public and went on some trips and maybe that equates to romantic feelings. It might come down to how different people really measure feelings, and at the end of the day, since we can't see into their private life, we don't know. What I have a hard time with is that if Evan really had feelings for her, and given how badly she wanted to be "his" in the public eye (she courted it at every turn) I just don't get why he wouldn't drop her a crumb and let them be a bit of a couple out in public. Even at the VF party, he let his handlers push her off the red carpet during photos, and there is one awkward photo of them. Being a fan of his, it just doesn't seem like the behavior of the guy I have followed and how he treats people he has feelings for. So really I am not anti-Fran. I am just hoping that the Evan I am a fan of would be nicer to someone he has true feelings for. He could have made those 2 years go much better for her by allowing a few actual nice couple photos of them rather than all the sneaky pics. Because when you are in a relationship, it is not just about what you want and need, it is about what your partner wants and needs. So yeah maybe Evan the actor needs privacy but if Fran the normie wanted to be his publicly doesn't that count too? I say if there is love it does.

you said yourself we cannot truly know what evan and frances felt, yet you take the liberty to say that frances badly wanted to be in ''his'' public eye. she never once said this, you simply inferred it from her actions, which is.. i guess that she posted about him on social media and enjoyed making his fans jealous. what on earth does it mean to drop a crumb and "let" them be a couple in public? what would that even mean? they were a couple in public. just because there wasn't paparazzi chasing them, doesn't mean they were not publicly together. he took her to an oscar party and you still find reasons to allege he was ''hiding'' her, so i am very sure that there is nothing that he could have done to satisfy your expectations of what it means for evan to publicly claim a girlfriend you didn't like. evan did not have his handlers ''push'' her off the red carpet in photos; again, you are projecting your own negative feelings. any rational person would look at the situation and see that frances is a normal, non-celebrity girlfriend who likely did feel awkward, who perhaps didn't even want to be in photos with him on the red carpet because of the backlash and multiple hate blogs she had being ran about her. i don't believe for one moment you're denying their relationship because you think his behavior wasn't "fitting" for a loving relationship and the sweetie you know evan to be. you don't know evan, you're not his friend, you never saw the way those two interacted at all. you don't know what frances ''needed'' any more than you know what evan needed. what we do know is that they were in a romantic relationship for 2 years. you honestly sound unhinged to end this ask as though you intimately know what frances needed to be happy, and that evan was somehow denying it to her because he didn't actually love her.

structural changes

make it take place at least five years after pjo. percy and annabeth are coming into their own as peacetime leaders, and serving as the adult mentors of a new generation of kids. did their time as child soldiers fuck them up? does perpetuating the system help?

cut the seven down to five. we love all these characters!! but oh my god the pov character bloat. you can still keep povs from outside the main questing party, but the sheer number of characters reduced the kinds of relationship development possible, and flattened outsiders in each scene to flanderized archetypes.

increase the span of time between each book. with each entry the book increased in size and compressed in time. battle of the labyrinth took like 200 pages to convey the same span of time as son, moa, hoh and boo combined. increasing time between books also gives riordan time to catch up to the present day, rather than keeping on a simpsons-style floating timeline where Percy turns 16 in 2009 but still isn't old enough to drink in 2024

character and relationship changes

increase the age gap between Thalia and Jason, or get rid of Jason altogether. I think he's neat but introducing him was kind of an asspull retcon. which is fine, thalias backstory wasn't explored that much, but it means he doesn't really exist on his own terms, he's just a counterpart to her or to percy.

remove Percy and annabeth from the main questing party. they did their time. I'm sure the publisher had a graph that showed books with Percy and annabeth sold much better than books without (as evidence by the fact that pjo keeps getting sequel series while Kane chronicles and Magnus Chase get left to collect dust) but it just feels forced. it also leads to power creep and scope creep.

pick one romance within between the younger characters. one. I vote piper and Leo bc I like them and they always get ignored by fandom. have hazel and frank be like, a buddy-cop duo or something. maaaaybe let Leo have a tragic romance with Calypso NOT as a consolation prize for being seventh wheel. solangelo is cute but also feels like a very cynical introduction of sweaterboy/nightmare archetypes into traditional media. and cut the Sammy valdez shit like why would that even be necessary for a love triangle? truly odf

story changes

split the party! the five questers are out trying to stop the threats of the big bad and coming up with creative and clever solutions that wouldn't be necessary with heavy-hitting big three kids doing most of it! I'm sorry but the "Percy and/or Jason hit the big monster with a sword until it stops moving" parts of the books were so fucking boring

political intrigue! Percy and annabeth have to deal with threats at home. the situation with the Romans is not a gordian knot Percy can just cut through! annabeth's weaponry is literally cloak-and-dagger! let the past come back to haunt them via their treatment of Reyna and how they make amends!

make Octavian an actual threat? like in the books he's just ~craazy~ comic relief who is somehow able to muster an army while also being widely disliked. at least show him as having motivations beyond like, anti-slavic prejudice

explore the actual Romans more? like in the pjo series I do not feel like the main flaw of the Greek gods' system is that they're too chill and loose. but in hoo we're told it is. so I propose it as more a conflict between one united expansionist empire, vs various warring factions that must put up a united front. maybe let Percy "this is Sparta" kick someone into a pit

give gaea actual motivations too? like idk it just felt like, "ohhh you beat my son again, and the giants were next after the first time, I'm evil and a woman" when like. make her the abusive mother of the world. make her mad about climate change. make her have any motivation, please, I beg you

Bucky Barnes

He bores me.

Steve is bland and righteous, but he at least has a personality, sort of. Bucky's just there.

And no, I'm not even talking after he becomes The Terminator. I mean he was just there from the very beginning. What do I mean? Let's take a look.

Bucky starts out in the first Captain America as Steve's supportive friend. Bucky is better looking, more confident in himself, and sees himself as a protector of Steve. This is all well and good but then we get to them meeting up later.

Steve has become Hercules. Suddenly, Steve is better looking than Bucky, more important than Bucky, a better soldier than Bucky, and better at everything period than Bucky.

Their dynamic has completely imploded behind Bucky's back, just after he's been taken prisoner, and had to be rescued by the little twerp he once rescued from being beat up in alleys.

You'd think this would have some impact on his and Steve's relationship. That something must shift or at the very least be acknowledged as Bucky finds himself talking to this completely different person.

Nothing changes, because Bucky is more cardboard than even Steve. Bucky's still Steve's best bud, what does that mean? Er-they talk to each other at a party, Bucky gives him a comrade like slap on the shoulder and tells him to talk to the girl, then he tragically falls off a train. Steve grieves him for two seconds of the film.

I walked out of that movie not realizing that Bucky was supposed to be in any way important and those scenes were meant to be pivotal setup for sequel films.

He comes back, he's still just there, but even moreso now. We get an entire film centered on him being the Terminator. He stands there. And yes, that was the role, but it was also impressively boring to watch.

He does this pretty much the rest of the movies.

I can't even dislike his character because there's nothing to like or dislike. He's just there, he's just around, somehow a major catalyst for multiple of these films.

I feel like I'm watching multiple movies in which there's a llama eating grass, that llama's name is Bucky Barnes, and you have all these people killing each other while the llama eats grass. Next film, the llama's eating grass in Wakanda now.

Bucky/Steve

It's so boring and also it just doesn't work.

On the boring end, these are two people who are barely even people shoved together. They don't interact with one another, not really, they're just Supportive (TM) when the film tells them to be. We're told they have a great friendship but that's because neither appears to have any legitimate interaction with the other at all. They're just there. Together.

Why doesn't it work?

Bucky doesn't seem to care for Steve all that much.

What?! You say. HOW DARE YOU!

I mean it though, look at his actions in the films, Bucky pretty much avoids Steve at all costs every opportunity he gets.

Civil War, Bucky has been in hiding, trying to get over his mind control on his own, presumably having very little or no contact with Steve. Steve chases after him and this whole whirlwind of adventure happens: Bucky goes to Wakanda where Steve does not stay for years. In the movie itself, Bucky never seems all that overjoyed that Steve's around, not as much as Steve himself is.

Infinity Wars, Bucky's in Wakanda, hanging around, and even when Steve comes back doesn't spend much time talking with him. They have a few awkward conversations. Years later, after they presumably don't hang around each other, Steve chooses to stay back in time and marry Peggy. Bucky looks disappointed but not all that shocked or surprised.

If anything I'd say it's very one sided on Steve's end. Steve is way more into Bucky than Bucky is to him. Which makes sense in a way, as Bucky is part of the world that Steve lost.

Bucky has lived decades in agony, losing his very self, where Steve went into an iceberg and emerged in a different world. Bucky is a familiar face, filled with memories, in all of this madness and Steve doesn't want to accept that things have changed. This Bucky is not the Bucky he knew and never will be again. I think Bucky knows this and it's why he's not... thrilled to have Steve in his life.

It's also why Steve chooses to stay and marry Peggy: that was his world, not ours.

Mostly though, the pairing is one of the most boring, soft serve, things I've ever seen. It's like eating cardboard twice.

Hi there! So now that the story's over I'm so curious about our Rojo and his experience with autism, so I hope you don't mind a few questions from a fellow autistic person.

Would Jackie like noise cancelling headphones, or would he find having things near his ears annoying? Does he ever have meltdowns over losing comfort objects or his gloves or is he more composed? Is his aversion to skin touching specific to his hands/face or does he dislike any part of him being touched? Does he have specific people he can handle touching? (Like how he used to cuddle with Blue while sleeping in Peru.) What's his favourite stim tool? Would he be a "loves popits" autistic or a "hates popits due to their popularity" autistic? Did Anti ever use under or over stimulation against him, or was he not educated enough to even know about it? Does he have issues regulating emotions besides anger as well?

Also a silly one: Did Anti make him forget Autism Sp**ks and how horrified was he to learn about that again?

Hi there! Thanks for the questions!! Just to be clear, I'm allistic, but I am always very happy to talk about Jackie THE KING THE LEGEND

As always, some of these details are up for you to imagine as you want, but if you want to know what my take on them would be, I'm happy to comply :)

I think Ro would like headphones. I don't think it ever made it to a fic, but I remember a specific scene I wrote for a draft of My Brother's Keeper where Chase would always go with Jackie when they had to ride public transportation and Jackie would just listen to his headphones and let Chase handle it because it really kept his stress down - both having the routine of Chase going with him and having the headphones make really loud and busy spaces more enjoyable and easier for him. Did he use headphones in that scene where Blue brought him out of a meltdown by setting up Spider-Man for him? I don't remember lol but he likes both the way they block out other noises and the way he gets to listen to his favorite music and movies and stuff.

Jackie's comfort object is really his hoodie, especially the one from Max. he hates not having it on. stims with the ends of the sleeves and the strings of the hood and likes to keep the hood up when it feels like things are too bright. it also just helps him feel more anonymous and less like people might be staring at him (especially important because Anti gave him paranoia about being arrested). I think he can probably cope fine without the hoodie at home if he's not under any major stress and he has to, but going out in public just makes him anxious without it. They buy him a couple different hoodies in the last chapter mostly to help make laundry day easier.

as for the touching, he really does not want to touch anybody's skin much of anywhere, or to have anybody touching his. touching hair and clothes is no problem, but not skin. even when he cuddles with the others, he generally hugs them through their clothes or keeps blankets between them. Blue and Red are never quite as touchy-cuddly as Trick and Dok in part because Red is just not as interested. squeezing helps though, as we mentioned a couple times. his gloves are also just something that makes everything easier and are just kind of part of the way he likes to dress himself. he doesn't want to wear things other than his hoodie and gloves. that's his outfit, every day.

Jackie's room from before the events of MBC kind of gives us an idea into how he had learned to accommodate himself in his own space (and to be a contrast to how poorly Anti accommodates him), and that room has a lot of Jackie's favorite stims. he has things like heavy blankets, lava lamps, lots of action figures and toys, all sorts of colorful things that he likes. he also just loves to run to stim, like when he finally gets free of Anti and is allowed to go running every day as long as he wants. he also stims with Noodle! soft kitty warm kitty little ball of fur. long pets for cats. his favorite stim, though, might just be his hoodie. he's trying to break his habit of chewing on the strings, but it's better than chewing on his nails.

I think Jackie is cautious of anything that's actually widely acknowledged to be a stim tool at first. Anti made him feel so ashamed of his "kid's stuff" and "fidgeting" and a lot of aspects of him being different for so long that it's sometimes still hard for him to let himself indulge in things that are clearly catered for him. but if he has some time to explore something fun and nobody makes fun of him for it, he will probably enjoy it! i think as the years go on he will learn to keep accepting himself better and better and then he will be able to embrace little things like pop-its that are just a little bit more fun and distracting and harmless and not mind one bit that they are popular. I think he'd like to have one on his phone eventually, yeah! especially if some of his brothers or Max had them too. and it's really good for him to be learning to personalize his things again!

Jackie definitely experiences under and over-stimulation frequently as Red. whether or not Anti intentionally does these things with the thought of poking at Jackie's autism I will leave up to the reader. there are moments where Jackie is chained in one room for days on end and, at the beginning of the series, part of the reason he's so waspish and miserable is because he mostly just sat on his side of the cabin all day, alone with nothing worthwhile or engaging to do. Anti does intentionally make fun of some of Jackie's interests and needs, further alienating him from special interests and entertainment that might have cheered him up.

one thing I did try to do was to mention regularly that there are aspects of Anti himself that over-stimulate Jackie or give him a really unpleasant sensory response. Anti smells like oil, glitches frequently, and makes a high-pitched noise when glitching or screams a lot at times. Jackie loves his brother at the beginning, but even then he hates the way Anti makes him feel. I see the two of them in many ways as nemeses, so I wanted Jackie's repulsion from Anti to be a signifier of just how inherently incompatible they really are - and how Jackie's brain continues to try and protect him from Anti even after he's forgotten why he should. Anti could get rid of Jackie's memories, but not his sensory responses to Anti's presence, which are programmed into Jackie's brain, like he was created to be opposed to him. (not that having a sensory issue with something means it's your nemesis now or that Anti and Jackie couldn't have worked through their issues in a redemption arc world lol. just on a literary level)

the thing with emotions for Jackie is that oftentimes, no matter what he's feeling, if he doesn't know how to handle it it becomes anger. in part this is because Anti either mocked or made him forget a lot of his coping mechanisms, and he doesn't validate Jackie's high emotions, teasing him for crying or losing his temper or "being a baby," so Jackie really had no idea how to deal with it when he was just feeling bad. sometimes he can't even tell what he's feeling, except that it's Bad, and anger is his response.

that being said, I think Jackie can shut down when he's too sad - if one of his brothers died I think he'd just be caught between screaming fits and lying in bed, numb, all day long - and sometimes his fear can be really paralyzing, like near the end of chapter four when he's cooped up at Dark's house, just stuck in bed with his overwhelming anxiety while Blue tries to pull him out. but for Jackie, most of his emotional regulation issues lead to anger eventually. he really has to work to talk things through, and sometimes when his brothers do things he doesn't like, he can't really see their point of view, and just ends up feeling hurt and like they don't need or want him anymore. he gets stuck in a loop of "how could they do this to me?" and just gets so overwhelmed and frustrated he often ends up yelling or lashing out. emotional struggles are definitely a big one for Jackie, but he's working hard to practice new coping skills and to communicate with his brothers.

with programs like autism speaks, it's of course tempting to say that Jackie would immediately be incensed and determined to make change about it. but really I think Jackie's initial reaction would just be fear and memories of how ashamed and freakish Anti made him feel. messages from groups like these that autistic people are burdensome and need to be corrected or "cured" would parallel the way that Anti made him feel like he was a fuck-up and a freak whenever he exhibited many of the characteristics of his autism. what Jackie could really benefit from is meeting other autistic people and being able to have someone else who has experienced some of what he's gone through validate that YES he should be angry that people support groups like autism speaks and YES it was completely wrong the way Anti made him feel and YES he is absolutely valid the way he is and does not need to be corrected. and then he would be angry!! and heroic!! and maybe commit a little arson!!!!

It's just frustrating because I've run social skills camps as well as doing social work for families with autistic children and that sort of Autism Speaks mentality is so incredibly harmful. little kids can internalize these messages from their parents at a young age and continue to struggle into adulthood with things like this. so I just want to say that it's okay to need time to overcome these messages. Jackie sure does.

Jackie is wonderfully autistic, but I don't want to downplay that it will take him time to get to a place where he can be proudly autistic like he absolutely was before Anti wiped his memory and tried to teach him shame. but you best believe that he will get to that place again.

Jackie's final step in the story - the moment where he allows himself to be separated from his brothers so he can tend to his own heart - is meant to be a symbol of Jackie taking time for himself and beginning to learn to love himself again, not just as big brother or just as the hero of the hour, but as a unique and wonderful human being who deserves happiness for exactly who he is.

so give him a little while and you will sure as hell see him out there loving himself as a proud autistic person... and giving the middle finger to the smoldering remains of an Autism Speaks office.

You know, what think I like when you are critical of a content creator is that you know how to separate a fact from especulation, unlike a blog out there that took especulation as facts.

Example, that night when we were critical of Karl, or any instance you have discussed about him, a lot of anons were saying that he gave them clout chaser vibes to them, and despite your opinion, you expressed that those were only especulation and not the truth, and to keep that in mind. That's good critical thinking.

But this blog had some similar anons, saying that he only is friends with the Feral Boys gro clout- In fact, they said the Feral Boys were only in it to benefit from clout and money. And they took it as a truth. I know you instance on them is neutral, but come one, they are friends. All of them. Karl isn't friends with them for clout. Like today Karl was playing golf with salad gang plus Sapnap and George at first and then Quackity and Dream joined bc they had spared time and it all devolved into typical chaos (Poor Corpse and Tina and Brook, had to endure those children lol/lh /j). Like, the stream wasn't planned with the 5/5 yet they joined, missing Karl and just having fun.

Idk, I guess that blog's superiority (They were a SBI focused blog) just irritated me. It's as if they were putting both groups at each other as if those streamers aren't friends or close. They were singing prayers of one while shunning the other based from especulation. Criticissism is fine, in fact recommended to be critical of your interests, but taking rumors as facts to base your crit is yikes. It's as if I wanted to crit SBI and base it only of "Philza hanging only with people younger than him is kinda weird ngl.." or "Sbi doesn't care about Tommy cuz he joined late" like that dumb Tumblr post did or some fuckers in Twitter imply.

The main reason I take so much care to separate speculation from evidence-backed theories and confirmed truths is because I feel like that separation is what distinguishes us from mcyttwt the most. One of the main reasons for mcyttwt's toxicity, imo - for its relentless cancelling of everyone, for its bandwagon campaigns - is that people oftentimes criticize and defend based on their personal feelings rather than rationale or evidence.

For example, I complain a lot about Dream stans on here, but you know the reason I didn't stop watching Dream directly after the cheating scandal broke loose, even though I thought he cheated? Because of mcytblr Dream stans. Mcytblr Dream stans engaged with me in discussion, both publicly and in DMs, about the cheating scandal, and even those who eventually came to the conclusion that Dream didn't cheat accepted the facts and statistics they were given and kept a healthy skepticism throughout the process. On Twitter, Dream stans were defending him before he even made a video following up to the mods' initial accusations because they felt that Dream wasn't the kind of guy to lie or cheat. They were replying to screenshots of statistical analyses from subreddits and to articles from mathematicians and staticians with extremely reactionary responses because of that feeling, which they believed in so adamantly, they had accepted it as fact. The thing is, to believe that Dream didn't cheat in the face of all the statistical and rhetorical evidence to the contrary is, in itself, speculative. Usually we think of speculation as a baseless theory that something is a positive truth- that is to say, that something did happen. But speculation also applies to those theories of someone not having done something, when the opposite has been nearly proven to be true.

For this same reason, I chose not to ignore the anti-technotwt threads with screenshots of Techno's old tweets in them. For me to have simply ignored these screenshots and continued supposing that Techno never expressed bigoted beliefs and/or currently doesn't would have been speculative on my part, and to boot, blatantly wrong, given the evidence to the contrary.

People in this fandom, and in all RPF/RPF-adjacent fandoms need to understand that almost everything they believe about the CCs they watch is speculative, at least to some extent, because of the nature of the content they make. Even if someone, in your opinion, displays evidence of some aspect of their personality - whether that be some form of bigoted, sweet, rude, clout-chasing, or anything else - because of the extremely one-sided nature of sharing one's life through a screen, that theory of ours will almost alwyas only ever be speculation, not a solid conclusion that can be drawn. We will never know these people's true intentions behind something shared to us via the Internet.

That vagueness leads to virtually every viewer creating a different theory in our heads about the CCs we watch, and we can't treat those theories as facts, especially not when sharing them with the rest of a fandom. I'm not a very big blog, but I consider even over 50 followers to be way too many people to spread a theory too, without at least clarifying that what I'm posting is speculation. If I have evidence, I like to list it or, if I can, provide sources; but otherwise, I take care to qualify most things with phrases or disclaimers that will clue followers into the speculative nature of whatever it is I'm saying. This is because theories and "feelings" can blaze through a fandom like wildfire, especially somewhere like Twitter, where so many things are word-of-mouth or based on summary due to character limitation.

You know why mcyttwt was cancelling Andi? Only a handful of original Tweeters under the cancel Andi hashtags actually knew what clips or tweets to criticize her for, or tried to elaborate on that criticism. But because every other mcyttwt user was getting bombarded by their mutuals hate-posting about Andi on their TLs, the "negative feeling" towards Andi grew and grew, even if most people didn't even know what they were supposed to feel negative about, exactly. Our judgement works on a quick trigger on the Internet because of the amount of information we're receiving, and so, even a single bad word against someone you don't have too strong of an opinion on can fundamentally alter your perception of them, usually subconsciously. If the first thing you see about Andi, who you've only seen on a couple LOH's or a couple Punz streams before then, is a tweet along the lines of, "disappointed in Andi for her homophobia and joking about suicide," despite you having no context, you will most likely be pushed to the negative side of her. Thus begins the cycle of hatred, building up and up, leading to you searching for more and more criticism about Andi, whether speculative or not, until you solidly and genuinely believe she is a Horrible Person. It all starts with the vaguest fucking feeling, because that's all speculation has to go off of, and it snowballs into a fucking wildfire across an entire fandom. I'm not about to be another person to let feelings snowball and spread like that.

Now, I don't know what exact blog you're referring to, but as an adamant SBI enthusiast, let me flip the argument many SBI stans have for their speculation upon the genuity of Karl's friendship with the Feral Bois, onto SBI. What do we have to go off of for the genuity of SBI's friendship, anyways? Our perceived brother dynamic between Tommy and Wilbur could very well just be Tommy capitalizing on Wilbur's brand and continuing the charade until now because it's been profitable. Maybe Techno only continues to associate with SBI because he knows how much his fanbase likes headcanon'ing about SBI, so he puts up with streams with them so he can continue to feed his fanbase with dynamics he knows they're obsessed with. Maybe Phil would rather play MC with people his age, and actually dislikes that he's friends with a teenager, but sticks around because he profitted so much off of Dream SMP and SBI-related content. And what could any SBI stan have to argue with me on any of these theories? Just because SBI laughs around each other and seems fond of each other doesn't mean they're actually like that behind the cameras. They so seldomly stream or make videos together anymore, anyways, so maybe they've grown tired of keeping up the dynamic.

Everything I said could be interpreted as utter bullshit, and that's because it fucking is. I don't actually know what Techno wants to do with his life, or how Wilbur and Tommy actually feel about each other, or who Phil wants to fucking befriend. The same goes for Feral Boys. There's nothing wrong with stating your theories or speculation, but to treat them as fact or not at least qualify such posts with the fact that this is all based on your bias and opinion, and no substantive evidence, is irresponsible. Just because you feel like one or more of the Feral Boys is "clout-chasing" doesn't mean you have the right to tout that feeling as truth. ok short answer: chase’s brain would probably just short circuit and stop working for a while while he tries processing that sight before him

long answer: chase has been aware that henrik is queer for some time and knows that he has expressed interest in different genders, but didnt ever really acknowledge it and liked to ignore that whole aspect of him just cause ‘he had a wife and family’ and ‘it wasnt important’ and chase wasnt all that ‘comfortable’ with it but ya know henriks his friend and it wasnt a big deal.

but with henrik and jamie, chase was already feeling a little jealous cause his best friend was spending way more time hanging around jameson than him. so seeing his best friend kissing the hell out of the angry little time traveler is gonna be just a slap in the face. henrik didnt exactly want chase to know about him and jamie just cause he didnt want it to be a ‘big deal’ since he didnt think chase would react well. and having all this hid from him, chase would feel pretty betrayed and would angrily stomp away from the two and run back down the hall trying to hold back tears. 

henrik would run after him desperately trying to explain himself, trying to get chase to look at him, but chase is just so fucking pissed and upset and betrayed and grossed out and just has all these emotions flying around that make him snap back at hen, shouting about how shitty of a friend he his, how of fucking course he’d keep secrets from chase cause its not like hes supported henrik for so long, especially after he got home from anti, how fucking twisted it is that he thinks all his trauma and problems are gonna go away by fucking what is essentially his abuser. henrik would be screaming about how he never wanted chase to know for this exact reason, that what he and jj have is very personal and not something he felt the need to share, that chase always looked down on him if he ever mentioned anything about being pan which made him  uncomfortable and unsafe to mention anything about his relationships. its a big mess and chase and henrik probably dont talk for awhile. 

it freaks jj out a lot and is probably crying when henrik comes back into the room, blurry-eyed and red faced, but jamies always disliked chase so its not a huge surprise he’d act like an asshole. and once marvin finds out about the altercation, chase finds himself pretty much shunned out of the group for awhile. he tries explaining himself to marvin, but marv points out that maybe he shouldnt have blown up like that, maybe henrik kept it from him for a fucking reason, sure hen shouldnt keep stuff like that from him but chase had, even if he didnt mean to, implied to henrik that he did not approve of his “lifestyle” and could only be friends with him if he chose to ignore that aspect of him. best friends and brothers are supposed to love and support each other in all aspects, and it shouldnt be conditional. 

and chase kind of has to reevaluate a bunch of stuff for awhile. like, he sees that henrik and jj are perfectly healthy and really good for each other, its normal and hen is really happy for the first time in awhile. there really isnt anything wrong with it, why was he so uncomfortable with it in the first place? was it just cause it didnt seem ‘normal’ to him? and hes gotta sort of realize that lgbt people are just people, they mind their own business and just want to get through life without being yelled at by their families. and hes been friends with henrik for years and it never affected who he was as a person and chase had loved him no matter what. 

so yeah, he might change his mind a little after walking in on that. it probably wont happen over night, but maybe he can look at marvin and see someone who isnt so different from him, and he might think of henrik. those two obviously make up, chase shouldnt have blown up and needs to be a better friend to him, and hen promised not to hide stuff from him anymore. its a start, anyways.

1. Steve never “dismissed” Bucky’s opinion during CATFA, he was trying to explain why he needed to be in the battle to. Just because he joined the Army anyways doesn’t mean he didn’t care about Bucky’s opinion, but you can’t base your future on what other people think is right for you.

2. Bucky was suffering PTSD, why would he WANT to discuss his torture? In the middle of war during a time where men were heavily discouraged from expressing emotions because they need to be ‘strong’?

3. Bucky NEVER told Steve to leave him alone, he hadn’t seen him in two years. Steve “forcibly dragged him back” because he was triggered by Zemo and thus both a risk to himself and others. Shield didn’t follow him that was Ross’s guys and Steve only went there because he knew Bucky would fight back and there was a shoot on sight order for him.

4. When did Steve ever baby Bucky or tell him to man up? He was being cautious around him in the beginning because he didn’t know if Bucky still remembered him for sure and knew could attack or flee if provoked. He tries to tell Bucky it’s not his fault and looks really sad when Bucky says he isn’t worth it, that’s not insensitivity it’s compassion.

5 was the worst one. Steve NEVER gaslit Bucky. Gaslighting is decieving/lying to make someone question their sanity. He ASKED Bucky if he knew what Zemo wanted, he was desperate for answers. He didn’t withhold from Bucky, robot Zemo showed him a paper for 5 seconds & implied Hydra probably killed the Starks, then fired a missile at him. The letter implies he was in denial. Your idea of toxic is ironic considering you ship Winteriron. Tony has literally never done anything but try to kill Bucky.

P.S. Steve NEVER forced Bucky to fight anybody. Bucky had the option of going home in WWII and Steve asked if he was willing to keep fighting, Bucky said yes. He didn’t ask him to fight in IW either, T’Challa did because he knew they needed everyone who could fight to help. 1) Steve outright ignored Bucky’s opinion because he was willing to DIE being strong headed doesn’t change that he ONLY ran off to war to prove something to Bucky. Among that we’ve SEEN that 40s Bucky would be honest about his emotions with Steve, Steve just fucking blanked him

3) Bucky literally kept legging it from Steve, that’s not an invitation. Then Steve went to stop him from fighting his wait out on a shoot on sight order? Are you telling me that was helpful? Are you telling me that Bucky’s face when Steve went ‘you’ll kill people’ was good? ON TOP OF THAT STEVE STILL HAD NO RIGHT TO DRAG HIM BACK HE HAD NO RIGHT TO TAKE HIM IN Steve kept going and going and chasing him even when Bucky ran and that’s *not fair*

4) Firstly, yep you’re right. It was Ross's men, not SHIELD, it was late and we all make mistakes but an opinion was given and no offer for a debate was made, you sound like a pompous asshole out for a fight. Steve is not a good friend to Bucky, accept it it doesn’t change that he’s a good person who was trying, he just fucked up in this regard

also adding to the end of you message, I am very aware how toxic winteriron is but again this is fiction and you can write them better then they’re written in canon and develop relationships about traumatic events, which was the whole point of my original post, that yeah steve’s been a bad friend but you can fix it without taking away everything that he is as a character.

AND my post was in no light anti steve rogers, he is by far one of my favorite characters, hell i even write him, but just because he’s my favorite doesn’t make him any less problematic.
