Alrighty, I finally had a minute to sit down and smack out some of my thoughts. @itsgoghtime, I am tagging you as a full participant :)

Okay, so we're leaning more into the mirror-world stuff, with certain things being representations of real life and such.

It opens with Madge flying around the house and landing outside the window where Nathaniel is sitting, just as a little nod to the owl :>

Nathaniel is trying to fit in with his brother's family, but there are so many of them

One day, when he's trying to get some peace and quiet and read the copy of Ivanhoe that he swiped from Nicholas' office, the kids all burst into the room falling over each other and laughing and chattering and making an absurd amount of noise

Nicholas is, of course, right behind them, giggling and trying to keep from falling asleep

Nathaniel fully loses it, dropping the book and yelling at the children.

Nicholas ushers them out, and tries to calm his brother. It doesn't work, and Nathaniel just lets all of his frustrations and pent up resentment come out, shouting at his brother and leaving Nicholas stunned (and hurt)

Nathaniel storms out, going on a walk and trying to calm down after all the things he said. (He hadn't intended to get that upset, but it had all spilled over and gotten a little too close to comfort to a vulnerable heart-to-heart, so he had to leave in order to save face)

After a bit, he feels suitable under control again, and enters the house, only to find it totally empty

The place is ransacked, a complete disaster with books and papers scattered and flapping in the breeze from open windows

Nathaniel searches, but there's no one to be found, so he heads to Nicholas' office

There, he sees a suspiciously spotless room, and the Sister (We're calling her Eurus for simplicity's sake) sitting on top of Nicholas' desk, reading Ivanhoe

(She looks spooky and flashy, somehow more dramatic than Curtain but in a more old-fashioned style like Nicholas. Also purple, to round out the cool-colour sibling trio. Just look at this, because it's amazing)

Nathaniel demands to know what happened to his brother and the others, but she just laughs menacingly

Closing the book, she swings her legs off the desk, smiling at him

"Wouldn't you like to know, Natty?"

Nathaniel is affronted, and tries to cover his confusion with Awkward Curtain Bluffing

Eurus introduces herself, and mocks him further by revealing a model of Nicholas with a flourish, toying with it as they speak

"This is what you wanted, right? To be free of little Nicky and his nuisances? Now you can read your books and make your silly plans in peace."

Nathaniel vehemently states that he'd rather have his brother back to deal with on his own, please and thank you /s

(And his plans are not silly. They are genius)

"Oh, but he's mine now. I can't just give back such a fun toy. Besides, Nicholas will forget all about you soon enough, and then I'll have him and his friends to myself, permanently"

Nathaniel is, obviously, perturbed by this, and demands that she stop whatever game she is playing and return his brother and his associates

She laughs at Nathaniel again, and figurine in her hand turns into a pocket watch, with an abnormal thirteen hours on it

"Well, I do love games. And a game is no fun without some stakes to keep things exciting, so here are the rules: You have thirteen hours to win all of them back, or Nicholas stays with me. No more, no less"

She hands the pocket watch over, which starts ticking as soon as it hits Nathaniel's palm

He looks up to ask her who on earth she thinks she is, but she's gone, and so is the office

Nathaniel is standing outside a massive labyrinth, with no discernible entrance

As he's looking around, who should he find but Dr. Garrison!

Or, not Dr. Garrison, since she's wearing strange clothes and looks at him with confusion

(It doesn't matter, but I think she'd be wearing a typical fantasy poet shirt/tunic, red vest, and probably black pants. Her hair's braided, instead of cropped short or that longer style she kept in a bun)

Nathaniel addresses her and demands to know what's going on, and why she's a part of this ridiculous farce

Not-Garrison responds to her name, but maintains that she's never seen him before. She explains that she's the caretaker of the Labyrinth

Nathaniel sarcastically asks if she'll let him enter, and she shows him the gate

Nathaniel enters the Labyrinth alone and is confronted with a huge, apparently endless hallway that continues on in the same way for as far as he can see

(Part of me wants to include the Atrocious Hallway Painting just because)

Eventually, he stops, seeing that he's wasted a lot of time, and still gotten nowhere

As he's standing there, cursing the insanity of his situation, SQ appears!

(Also in different clothes! I know these aren't important, but I am a highly visual person and I love the artistic style of the movie, so we're going to have a lot of side-notes about how stuff looks)

(SQ is wearing a dark blue jacket [Slightly reminiscent of his dad's colors] and a red scarf, and carrying his sketchbook)

Nathaniel is startled by this, of course, but SQ introduces himself as if they haven't met before

Nathaniel carefully asks him what he's doing there, and SQ tells him he's been drawing some of the interesting creatures that live in the Labyrinth

SQ then inquires as to what Nathaniel is doing, and he exasperatedly explains that he's trying to get to the centre, but the whole thing is nonsensical and the endless hallway must be a trick designed to keep him from winning

SQ asks why he doesn't take a break, but when Nathaniel refuses, he says (somewhat cryptically) that maybe he just needs to look at things from a different perspective

**Clever Metaphor Plot Shenanigans Ensue**

And Nathaniel enters a new part of the Labyrinth

CUT TO WHAT EURUS IS DOING

Nicholas awakens in a spooky castle

He wanders through, looking for other people, but finds no one

Eventually, he comes across some guards, but they do not acknowledge him in any way, so he continues searching

He enters a weird throne room/office thing filled with books

(It looks like a warped version of his office, with lots of shelves and stacks of books all around, empty picture frames, a potted violet in the corner, and a big, impressive throne made of books in the middle)

He finds his copy of Ivanhoe on the ground, and opens it

This, and all the other books, are blank

Eurus appears, sitting on the throne and watching him

Nicholas tries to politely and calmly ask about what's going on, but she ignores his questions

Instead, she asks him about why he's bothered, since he obviously doesn't care about his family

And of course Nicholas is aghast at this and starts panicking over what she's done to the others

She goes on a spiel about how he left Nathaniel and he doesn't really care about his family and how he's only being so nice to Number Two/Rhonda/Milligan/the kids out of guilt

(She's kind of a terrible person in this, in case you hadn't noticed)

And Nicholas is horribly upset and trying to keep a lid on his emotions, when she gets up and walks over to him

"Now, wouldn't you like to be free of that guilt? To not have to worry about all of those strays you took in to make yourself feel like a good person? You're better off alone, you know that, so why not embrace it?"

CUT BACK TO NATHANIEL

Nathaniel comes across two doors, with Jackson and Jillson standing in front of them!

(Jackson is wearing a royal blue doublet/pants, and Jillson is wearing the same but in red. Both have floppy bard hats on)

Together, they communicate that one of them only tells the truth, and one only tells lies

(I've learned this is called a type of logic puzzle called "Knights and Knaves!)

One door leads closer to the castle, and one to "certain doom"

After some typical banter and circular logic, Nathaniel discovers which door to go through

He enters, and falls down into an oubliette

Garrison appears to let him out, and tries to get him to leave the Labyrinth

Nathaniel persuades her to guide him to the castle, and the two set off

(Garrison somewhat reluctantly)

They continue on their way for a bit, before Eurus shows up again

Nathaniel takes the opportunity to complain and ask why on earth she's doing this

She chooses not to answer this, and instead asks Garrison what she thinks she's doing

Garrison responds with cagey assurances that she hasn't forgotten her job in this, and Eurus threatens that she better not

Nathaniel demands to know what she's done with Nicholas, but she tells him that showing him would be cheating, and she isn't about to let the game end early

He asserts his confidence in being able to beat her, at which point she offers to make it more of a challenge

Eurus disappears and a huge machine starts pushing its way through the hall, about to crush Nathaniel and Garrison

Luckily, they escape, and find themselves in an upper part of the Labyrinth

In that area is Kate and Reynie!

(Reynie is wearing a brown tunic with a belt, and Kate is wearing a red tailcoat with feather designs)

The two of them are bickering about the way to the castle, and Nathaniel hesitantly approaches

He's used to the way things work now, and resigns himself to the fact that they are not going to be the people he knows normally

Eventually, he's able to get some even more cryptic advice from them, and he picks a random direction in frustration

Garrison attempts to leave him, but he steals her notebook and makes her agree to help him

Immediately after this, sounds of fighting come from nearby, and Garrison runs off

That's all I've got for now, but I will be adding onto this in a bit! Apparently this is the new thing my brain is refusing to let go, so we'll see what happens

she hadn’t made it easy to keep her at arms length though. she was a magnetic force and a stab in the back all in one. the way she’d contradict her soft touch by telling you, “you know i’m not ready for a relationship, baby.” the way she’d contradict her distant behaviour by telling you, “i’ve never met anyone like you, you make me so happy.”

to say it didn’t hurt would be a lie, but you felt responsible for getting involved in the first place. which is why you had never said anything before tonight.

“you’re so fucking selfish!” you screamed.

“i’ve always been upfront with you about what i want, not my fault you can’t handle it,” she screamed back.

“well, i think you’re a liar.”

“oh do you?”

you both stood on opposite sides of her living room. the lighting dim with half drunk rum and cokes on the coffee table.

“yeah, i do. you’re so afraid, ellie. you put on this big, tough act and pretend you don’t care at all but that’s impossible.”

“i don’t need to pretend.” her voice was low and tense. it was jarring compared to your shrill tone.

“so nothing since we met ever meant anything to you?”

“that’s not what i said.”

“then what the fuck are you saying? huh?”

god, part of you wanted to throttle her. she huffed and dragged a hand down her face.

“why the fuck are you bringing this up? i thought we were good.”

“because i don’t know how to read you, ever! and i’m sick of making myself feel like an idiot.”

“i’m not trying to make you feel like an idiot.”

“that’s awfully big of you,” you snapped.

“jesus, fuck. what do you want from me?”

you paused and shook your head. you felt sick and honestly wished you hadn’t said anything. but then you would have spent another six months in silence, tearing yourself up about your feelings.

“i just… i know you never wanted anything serious and neither did i but,” you stopped.

“but what?”

“but… i don’t know, after this long i thought that maybe…”

“i’d have feelings for you?”

your head snapped up to look at her.

“oh, don’t be fucking mean. seriously ellie, i’m not in the mood.”

“i’m not, i mean…” she stopped.

“what?”

silence.

“just tell me otherwise i’ll just leave and you can be on your own like you always want to–“

“i might…” she cut you off. you waited, impatiently.

“i think i might,” she twisted her sweaty hands together, “like you.”

you stared at her, dumbfounded.

“don’t mess with my head, ellie, i swear.”

“i’m not,” she rushed over to you and took your hands.

“i know what i said when we first met and at the time it was true, i didn’t want anything serious,” she took in a shaky breath, “but things have changed and if i’m being honest with you, it scares the shit out of me.”

you looked at her wavering eyes. “why?”

“because i’m not, i wouldn’t, i’m scared i’d fuck it up if we got serious and i wouldn’t want to do that to you.”

you let her confession soak in, thinking carefully about how to respond. you didn’t want to just leap into her arms like a lost puppy but you also wanted what she was saying to be true.

“please say something?” she pleaded after your long silence.

“ellie, i understand being scared, i’m scared! but you shouldn’t let that hold you back from what you want.” your stomach dropped in anticipation.

“i want to be with you, properly.”

she lifted your hands up to wrap around her neck and placed her own on your waist. you tried not to smile too hard just yet.

“is that you asking me to be your girlfriend?”

“yes,” she smiled and you kissed her. she held you closer as you deepened it.

“is that you saying yes?” she mumbled against your lips.

“yes.”

A post about my Murderbot Diaries fanfics

A lot of my TMBD fanfiction links together. Someone called it the 'Gamebird Cinematic Universe'. So you'll see events referenced across fics, backstory fleshed out, and missing scenes filled in, with the information spread out across a lot of stories. I also ship Murderbot and Gurathin, but not within the canon timeline. Thus, there are a lot of fics where that hasn't happened yet, or where they are not both present.

I've put them all together in a single series for convenience, and broken out the ones that are separate AUs or unrelated one-shots.

Gamebird Cinematic Universe stories in (mostly) chronological order:

After Hacking - This is pre-ASR, a series of stories that track Murderbot's growing personhood and abilities during the 4 years after it hacks its governor module to before the events of All Systems Red. Each installment is around 1,000 words and they are all designed as stand-alone stories.

It's Only a Cleaning Process - Murderbot enjoys a particularly thorough cleaning process that can definitely be interpreted sexually. Murderbot declines to interpret it that way.

Two Ships, Passing in the Night - ART shows off for another ship. Seth is not amused.

Ratthi's Proposition - At the start of the ASR survey, Ratthi propositions Gurathin. This is an event referred to in various other fics.

Rogue Trends - This is a data analyst digging into the circumstances behind Murderbot going rogue, and what happened to the other SecUnits that were in Ganaka Pit. It was my first TMBD fic and is much acclaimed.

Gurathin's Side of the Story - A retelling of ASR, ES, and other portions from Gurathin's point of view, along with key elements of his backstory. There is a little MB/G in it (occasional badly-veiled one-sided yearning; Murderbot doesn't know or care, as per canon).

BATNA - This recounts Mensah's captivity in Exit Strategy.

Things SecUnit Will Never Know - Missing scene at the end of Exit Strategy, tells the story of how the group restored Murderbot's brain after the gunship collapse.

Trust Fall - Set in the flashback scene of Network Effect - Overse and Arada argue about being cut out of the need-to-know list regarding the assassination attempt on Dr. Mensah.

Resignation - This is an elaboration of this line from Network Effect: Since I'd decided to stay (temporarily) on Preservation Station, Dr. Mensah had asked me to go places with her seven times. Six of those times were just relatively short boring meetings on ships in orbit or in dock. The seventh was when she had asked me to go down to the local planet's surface with her., telling the story of Mensah's slow crumble after the events of BATNA.

The Skinny - Murderbot sends a letter to Bharadwaj about the ways SecUnits are misused on contract. This would be in Network Effect, after the festival and before the water planet survey. This was another of my very early TMBD fics.

A Funeral for Killware - At the end of Network Effect, before System Collapse, those in orbit over the Adamantine Colony have an observance for those who were lost.

Retrieval - Three retrieves one of its fallen fellows.

Tarrathi - Tarik and Ratthi get together in System Collapse, missing scene fic.

The Talk - Perihelion's crew talk to it about how it met Murderbot. Or try to.

Repeat Deletion Protocol - Back on Preservation, SecUnit confronts Ratthi about a suspicious situation with one of Ratthi's partners, only to discover this isn't the first time it's confronted Ratthi about this.

De-constructed Feelings - Ratthi realizes/discovers Gurathin's past with constructs, and his present feelings toward one construct in particular. Gurathin swears him to secrecy, because he intends to take this secret to his grave. After all, Murderbot has no interest in him whatsoever and that's fine.

Skulk - This consists of the origin story for a rogue Combat SecUnit named Skulk, and then an adventure with Murderbot, Ratthi, and Gurathin.

Murderathin - This follows immediately after the end of the Skulk series and is my attempt to separate the MB/Gurathin material from the non-MB/G stuff so those readers who want to avoid shippy stuff can do so. Upon leaving the planet Skulk was on, Murderbot confronts Gurathin about certain feelings it has unexpectedly detected from him. This is where Gurathin's Side of the Story is told, although the events of it (ASR, ES, etc.) happen earlier.

What is Love? - A late-teens Gurathin explores his sexual interests with a standard ComfortUnit in the Corporation Rim. Even back then, he wonders if there is more behind those eyes, or if he's just seeing what he wishes was there.

To Like or Not to Like - This is Gurathin in his mid-20s (I headcanon him around 50 in ASR) with a ComfortUnit. Nothing sexual or romantic this time, just two beings trying to understand one another and themselves.

Other series:

Last Client Standing - ASR, but GrayCris attacks PresAux first instead of DeltFall. This is disastrous. Murderbot is only able to save Gurathin. They escape, eventually, returning to Preservation where there is grieving and therapy, with a hopeful ending.

TMBD Metas and Headcanons - What it says on the tin. Most of these are analyses of canon, but a few are my headcanons for ComfortUnits, Combat SecUnits, and Preservation.

Other stuff (one-shots or nearly so):

Freeze Response - Murderbot tries to figure out where a little girl went. Few words, many kudos.

SexUnit - Two versions of the same outline, one with Murderbot, one with an OC SecUnit. Both are used for sex. This is rape.

Two Peas in a Pod - Murderbot and Gurathin work together to retrieve two gestational units that have been locked in cryofreeze pods. Although both MB and Gurathin are in this fic, it isn't shippy in any romantic way. Barely even platonic.

Imagine Dragons - Murderbot tries to guard Gurathin from hostile fauna. I don't think this is particularly shippy. I think Murderbot would act the same way with any of its clients.

Personalized Security Services - Murderbot and Mensah fuck. This is not rape.

If Hostile One Had Bit Ratthi Instead of Bharadwaj in ASR - Just what it says on the tin.

Just a Piece - A man and an obliging SecUnit fuck. This is not rape.

Preservation Alliance, Politics, and World-Building - This is included in the Meta series, but is important enough for me to call it out individually. It's the background for nearly everything I've written in TMBD that has a setting in Preservation. It tells about languages, planets, and cultures.

There are also some drabbles and a couple longer one-shots I didn't count. You can find them in my AO3 works list. I have participated in two collaborative writing events, one Counting Down (combined PresAux and Perihelion crew get contaminated by alien remnants while planetside and have to fight off a CR sanitation team) and the other is Enemies, Closer (MB/G/ART/Echo). The first is not shippy in the least; the second is all shipping all the time.

𓂋˚˖ SYNOPSIS. competing against a rapidly rising all-male band from another school at an intercollegiate music festival doesn't really sound too bad on the surface. until you see their lead guitarist—the same boy who always made sure you knew who was the better guitarist between the two of you in high school.

Saturday afternoon finally came around, meaning you were currently hanging out with your bandmates and your practice room neighbors. You all decided to have a picnic at the park that happened to be right smack in the middle of IST and Cre.ker, the two universities that you and your friends were attending. Yes, friends—whether you consider Sunwoo a friend was still up for debate, but his other band members were definitely fun to be around.

About an hour had already passed since you and Ryujin arrived with snacks in hand. The others brought the other essentials—picnic blankets, an acoustic guitar, bluetooth speakers, and even more food. The picnic had been going pretty well, with people recognizing some of you (mostly the guys) and Jacob providing relaxing background music with his guitar. Haewon was present as well, even if she isn’t part of either band, but no one seemed to mind since she blended in almost too easily.

Just before the sun was about to set, Haewon announced that she had to leave early.

“Sorry guys, I have a gig in an hour,” she shyly admitted as she began fixing her things.

“You perform too?”

“No, I do modeling sometimes,” Half the group gasped, while the other half nodded in understanding, causing her to giggle. Once she was ready to to leave, she approached you first, crouching beside you. “Y/N, are you free tomorrow?”

You turn to her suddenly confused. “I have some errands to do in the afternoon, but otherwise, yeah. Why do you ask?”

“Do you wanna hang out with me for lunch then? There’s this restaurant I’ve always wanted to try,”

You blinked blankly at her a few times before glancing at Sunwoo who’s already been looking at the two of you. “What about Sunwoo? And Eric?”

Haewon glanced at them as well, then smiled and turned back to you. “Oh, I’ve had enough of them for now. I wanna catch up with you,”

You would be lying if you said you weren’t taken aback, but you agreed anyway.

“Great! I’ll send you the address later.” she said before bidding her final farewells to the rest of the group and walking back to her car, with Sunwoo tagging along.

“Were you ever close with her?” Ryujin, who was seated next to you and eavesdropped on your conversation with Haewon, suddenly asked, bringing you back to reality from mindlessly staring at Haewon and Sunwoo walking away.

“Um, no actually. She was always in a different class. Kinda wish she wasn’t though, maybe I could’ve gotten higher grades in groupworks,” you joked, causing Ryujin to smile and scoff.

“Do you think it’s weird?”

“What’s weird?”

“Her asking you out for lunch like that in front of everyone,”

“You don’t think I’m the type to get asked out like that?” you joked again, trying your best to sound as offended as possible.

Giving up, Ryujin sighed and said, “Never mind I asked,” and took a piece of her french fries.

Giggling, you also took one of her fries and dipped it in your cookies and cream ice cream before popping it into your mouth. “I’m kidding. I’m sure she doesn’t mean it like that. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with hanging out and reconnecting,”

“Still. If she really is asking you out, you better say no because I was already thinking about asking her out,”

“You what?” Another voice suddenly joined your conversation, a voice distinctly Sunwoo’s.

“Yeah, you got a problem with that, Mr. ‘I got infinite rizz’?”

“I do actually,”

“Oh? And why is that?” You merely chuckle as you watched them bicker and Sunwoo eventually having to admit defeat.

“Guys, can we please cut the cake now?” Hyunjae whines out of nowhere, and you slightly cringe watching the older boy act like a child.

“Wait, let’s take pictures first!”

After settling down from the quick photoshoot under the setting sun, Sangyeon and Seunghee begin passing slices of the celebratory cake they bought. As you ate your share, you noticed Sunwoo removing the berries on his slice.

“You don’t like the berries?”

“No, you can have them,”

Hesitantly, you took one of the berries he set aside on his plate. Plopping it in your mouth, you smiled and swayed a little, happy from receiving extra free food. Sunwoo watched you take his food and simply chuckled.

Borrowing (read: stealing) Jacob’s guitar, Sunwoo began to play random chords. You couldn’t help watching in awe since he was seated next to you as you continued eating your slice of cake. You kept switching from looking at his right hand that was plucking by the sound hole and his left hand that was smoothly switching positions on the fretboard. Everything about the way he handled the guitar was so serene, grasp ever gentle and fingers calm and relaxed—much different compared to how he played on stage. You didn’t realize you were watching so intently until you heard Hyunjae’s laugh suddenly boom from where he was standing.

Snapping out of your trance, you look away for a second and speak loud enough just for Sunwoo to hear.

“What song is that?”

Sunwoo hummed, as if to contemplate a seemingly simple question. “Nothing. I don’t think we’re close enough for me to tell you yet,”

“Oh? But I think I know you quite well already. You’re kinda easy to read,”

“And what might you have concluded from reading me so well?” he playfully said, finally looking up from the guitar in his hands.

You smiled, already knowing where this is going. “That you may or may not have a teeny tiny crush on someone I know,”

Sunwoo’s face goes slightly pale, and he pauses his movements, momentarily forgetting the next chord of the same pattern he’s been playing for a while. You laughed at his reaction, it was priceless, but practically confirming with the boy himself that he did in fact liked Haewon felt a little weird.

Suddenly becoming defensive, Sunwoo raises his hand in an attempt to redeem himself. “Okay, to be fair, that was high school. I don’t—”

“What?! Oh my god, this is worse than I thought,” laughing your ass off, he tried to calm you down but to no avail. When you finally caught your breath, you looked at Sunwoo and chuckled at him.

“Please tell me you wrote a song about her,”

Sunwoo looked at you with obvious defeat and lied down with his back on the picnic mat.

“Oh my god,” you chuckled again, but this time, you couldn’t bring yourself to laugh as much anymore. “Okay, I’ll stop. But not without hearing it,”

“You’ve been listening to it the entire time,”

You gasped, finally connecting the dots. But somewhere between all the putting two and two together, you remembered the serenity that had been radiating off of him earlier, and that tugged at you a little, knowing the reason behind that peacefulness.

“Got any lyrics?”

“Just one or two. I never really knew how to put it into words,”

You watched him watch the clouds move above you. He was responding to you, and yet his mind seemed to be so far away, perhaps lost among the puffs of gray that the breeze carried away.

“Play it again,”

“No, I wanna lie down,”

“Play it again,”

He sighed, sitting up and resting his hands on the guitar once again. As you paid more attention to the song, you began humming melodies and blurting out cliche lines that only a teenager with a crush would say.

As time went on, you began coming up with random lyrics about laundry and taxes, causing you both to laugh at how unserious the atmosphere had become. You were so busy busting out verses that neither of you noticed the others beginning to pack up.

“Give it up, guys. We’ve been listening to the same song for hours,”

“Y/N, let’s go home. I thought you had a project proposal due soon,” Ryujin whined as she started to feel tired.

“Shit, I forgot!” you cursed as you packed up your things as well. Sunwoo watched you leave his side and felt a little awkward just sitting there with the guitar, so he decided to help the rest pack up.

Before you knew it, everyone was already saying their goodbyes and beginning to walk back home.

How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they? One! Two if you count the book and the show as separate fandoms. But it's always been The Mysterious Benedict Society so far. I'd love to write for other fandoms someday, probably Good Omens, but this is where I feel comfortable with for now, both in terms of knowing the characters/story and the tight-knit fandom :D

Do you respond to comments?

In theory. I love chatting with people about fics - best way to make friends honestly - and I love when authors reply to my comments on their works! In practice I haven't replied in a while, which upsets me but it's more of a time/spoons thing. If I have time and energy I'd rather spend that commenting on one of my friends' fics rather than replying to comments on one of my own fics.

What’s the fic with the angstiest ending you’ve ever written?

I really don't do angsty endings! They're not always happy, but they tend to be bittersweet or open rather than angsty, and even if everything isn't resolved, I usually try to get across that the fic is ending in the middle of a situation and that everything will be okay later (like this snippet). I think the three that come closest are Let Steep Ten Minutes, Keeping Time with Curtain's +1 section, and 46 Fairview St. where it's kind of left open whether SQ will ever go back to visit his father. But again, those don't really feel angsty, just somewhat bittersweet with the hope that things will grow and get better.

Do you write crossovers? I haven't yet, but I'd be open to it! I think it's really challenging to write a good and cohesive crossover and I'm not sure where I'd start.

Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?

Nope! Perks of being in a small fandom. I imagine it does happen but I know y'all would have my back

Do you write smut?

Definitely not for mbs. I'd be open for other fandoms but it's not really what interests me the most.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of! I suppose someone might have fed a fic of mine into an AI writing generator which I'd personally consider a form of stealing, but I haven't heard of that happening. Please don't do that :)

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No! I've thought of trying to translate some of my own for funsies, but I'm definitely not at that level yet! Although the lovely @sophieswundergarten has made a few amazing podfics of both my fics and some other excellent fics in the mbs fandom, which I'd consider translation of a sort!

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

For mbs I'm more interested in platonic/familial connections, but I suppose I'd say Milligan/Moocho if I had to pick one? I really don't care if they're romantic or not though, I just like them together in any form that takes. For all-time I suppose I'd say Aziraphale and Crowley, though again I'm really not too picky about the nature of that, romantic or otherwise. Perks of being aroace spectrum baybe

What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

Never say never! But I do have a longer Curtain Wins AU buzzing around in my brain where Reynie and Sticky "join" him at the end of Book/Season 1 and then work to bring him down from the inside, without getting caught up in his manipulations. That might end up being comparable to Time and a Half in length, so maybe someday when I have an abundance of free time.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I write some banger first sentences :D especially in crack/funny fics

What are your writing weaknesses?

Too many adverbs! Also I get very easily stuck on exposition/beginning/ending/filler parts. I tend to write down the most tense/exciting moments for the fic and then the writing process stalls for the next three months.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

For a real language, I think it can be a great opportunity to showcase a character's backstory/culture. It can also be immersive for the audience - if a character is in a foreign country where they don't speak the language, including pieces of dialogue in that language can help the audience understand how lost they're feeling (assuming the audience doesn't speak that language either)! If you're using a translation source though it can make for some pretty hilarious errors and mistranslations.

I think made-up languages absolutely fuck but I could never include one in my fic because I'd nerd out creating an entire writing, grammar, and vocab system and forget to write the actual fic.

Ok, I wanna talk about those diverging Owl House au's I thought of. One of them uses something from the finale as a big plot point, but I'll put that under a read more.

But yeah! Here we go!

So you guys know how it was mentioned in S2 that Titans Blood mixing with water can create temporary portals between realms? Well let's go back to King on his little island sometime before Eda shows up. Both of these au's start with tiny little King wandering out of the...temple? that he hatched in and that Jean-Luc is confined to.

He explores the island a bit, and ends up tripping and scraping his palm or knee, just some small minor injury that would produce a little bleeding. King ends up opening a portal, either by trying to wash the blood out of his fur in a pond or stream or something, or by falling into that body of water.

King Noceda au

First off is the one where he falls in. And I wanna start off by saying that this is a crack offshoot of my first idea, so we're going to pretend that there aren't a million different plot holes that would make this au garbage nonsense.

King slips into a body of water too deep for him to swim in, and with his little scrape his blood mixes with the water, and next thing he knows he's being pulled out of the water and into the Human Realm by a young (about six years old) Luz Noceda!

The Nocedas haven't moved to Gravesfield yet, the portal opened near their old home. Luz, who was exploring a wooded area near her home at the time, rushes a soaked, freaked out, and half drowned King home, where Camila, being a vet, is more than able to treat King, even if she's wary of the fact that this adorable but weird dog thing Luz brought home has a skull for a head.

At first Manny, Camila, and Luz think King is just a weird dog, but then he starts talking.

So King grows up raised by Camila and Manny with Luz in the Human Realm! I'm gonna say that they're able to get buy using disguises like the Plantars used in Amphibia, and pretend that that would be the only thing the Nocedas have to worry about regarding raising a Demon in the Human Realm.

Things with Manny unfortunately go the same as in cannon, and even though having a little brother for most of her life means Luz is less lonely, school is still sucky and the Principal still pressures Camila into sending Luz to the summer camp.

Luz still chases Owlbert through the portal, but with King following her, both winding up in the Boiling Isles, and after that this set-up makes following cannon closely kinda impossible since even with Vee coming through the portal she could only fake being one person.

And thats pretty much it for this one, just a funny crack au about improbable adoption regarding characters I like. If I had a nickel for every time i made one of those, I'd have at least two, mb three depending on if you count VT.

But anyway, onto the more thought out au. It will be under a cut like I said earlier so anyone who hasn't seen the finale yet doesn't get spoiled by the thing I'm incorporating into this version. But I will leave the name I'm currently using for it.

Half-siblings au

So in this one everything starts the same, but instead of King falling into the water that opens the portal, he just like, tries to clean the bit of blood out of his fur and accidently opens the portal. Luz, still out playing in the woods behind her home, sees the pond and that the reflection in the water doesn't actually match the woods. She gets excited, rightly thinking it's some cool magic thing like out of the books her Dad reads to her before bed.

She falls in on accident trying to get a better look, and pops up in the Demon Realm. Luz see's King immediately and reacts the same way she does in cannon.

Since she's an excitable six year old with a love of fantasy and an overactive imagination, Luz doesn't really panic at her suddenly being transported to a different world. She sees it as a fun adventure, and those always end happily!

Right?

So Luz spends a little time with King out in the woods. King quickly warms up to her and Luz thinks he's absolutely adorable (and really hopes that she can take him home with her once she finishes her adventure)

They play in the woods a bit, but Luz notices King's getting tired (and she's kinda tired as well) so she picks him up and asks which way his home is. King points in the general direction he came from, and Luz quickly finds the temple. King dozed off in her arms, and Luz was excited to see who or what lives in there!

Mb other creatures like her new little friend? His family? Oh! mb an exiled ruler, waiting for a chance to reclaim their throne! Or a cranky old sorcerer who's looking for an apprentice!

Her mind is racing with excitement as she steps foot in the temple.

Unfortunately, the only thing waiting in the temple is Jean-Luc. And Jean-Luc was made to protect King from anyone or anything; it doesn't matter that Luz is a little kid, she's in the temple and she's not a Titan, so she's a threat to be dealt with.

Papa Titan watches the guard he made to protect his child kill a six-year-old in horror from the Inbetween. She watched as this little human fell into the Boiling Isles, and immediately befriend his only living child, just to be killed for trying to help King get back home.

She won't let that stand. So, much like in cannon, he stops Luz from sinking down into the depths, and gives her a second chance at life.

Luz doesn't really understand what just happened. Jean-Luc got her from behind, so to Luz one minute she was walking into the big tower with her new little friend, and now she's wading through water? in a weird glowy place full of floating boxes and there's a big hairy person kneeling in front of her.

Luz's resurrection is a bit different from cannon. Bc its a few years earlier (and Belos hasn't embraced being a literal tumor yet), Papa Titan has a bit more juice left, so she doesn't finally fully pass on after bringing Luz back (I like him too much to not give myself an opportunity to use him at least one more time in this au). And instead of Luz temporarily being in Titan mode with all the powers that come with it, she's just permanently part Titan now, and if she can use magic to that extent she doesn't figure out how for a while.

As much as I love her cannon Titan form, since this au has Luz as permanently half Titan (or, well, i think it'd technically be one third Titan) she's gonna look more like some of these concepts.

((Small side note, I know why cannon went with the more witchy looking form, since Luz always wanted to be a witch, but look at these!! Look at my girl!!! She looks so cool!!))

So yeah, Luz comes to in the temple with King snuggled next to her, having slept through...everything that just happened. She just kinda figures that she was so tired that she fell asleep as soon as she sat down, and then she had a dream about one of the murals in the temple.

A month or two later, Eda shows up.

Luz has realized that this isn't like one of her dad's bedtime stories by this point, and she just really wants to take her little friend and go home to her parents. Eda, at first, thinks King and Luz are half siblings through a demon parent, and doesn't fully believe Luz when she claims she's actually a Human.

But Luz's knowledge of Human items and her being fluent in Spanish (a language which doesn't exist in the Demon Realm), among a few other things, quickly leads Eda to the conclusion that yes, this kid is from the Human Realm and something really really weird happened to her.

The first thing on Luz's mind, once she and King have been brought back to the Owl House and fed and cleaned up, is getting back to Camila and Manny. Unfortunately, this isn't an easy task.

Luz, being 6ish, doesn't really know where she lives. She remembers parts of her address, and that they live in America, but other than that and her last name, she's got nothing (idk if Noceda is a common last name, so let's just pretend that it's common enough in this world that it wouldn't be helpful in tracking down Luz's parents).

And it's not like Eda can just help her come up with a good story and then drop her off at the Gravesfield police station; Luz might not stand out in the Demon Realm, but in the Human Realm her new Titan traits could get her killed.

So Eda spends the next few years raising both Luz and King, while trying to find Luz's parents in the Human Realm with no success.

Until Luz is around fourteen, and a certain heartbroken veterinarian living alone in Gravesfield chases a thieving little owl into a shack in the woods.

Ok, that's it for now. I have a lot more thought out for the Half Siblings au (not sold on that name, suggestions are welcome), like how certain events go, but I think this post has gotten long enough.

A/N ┊ this request is so cuteee, i did not know jo had a cat until i saw this req 😭 so when i tell you how i literally ran to twt after i was done reading it LMFAOO (and youre not bothering me at all btw!! keep sending more requests if you have some in mind ^_^) also i wasnt sure if jo’s cat was a girl or a boy so my apologies T_T

as the school bell rang, signaling the end of another day, jo’s heart raced in anticipation. today was the day he had mustered up the courage to invite you over to his house for the first time. the thought of introducing you to his beloved cat, mint, filled him with both excitement and nervousness.

jo approached you with a shy smile. "hey, would you like to come over to my place? I want you to meet someone very special."

intrigued by his invitation, your curiosity got the better of you, and you eagerly agreed. holding hands, you walked side by side towards jo’s house, a trace of excitement lingering in your hearts.

upon arrival, the door swung open to reveal jo’s older brother, who greeted you warmly. nervously scratching the back of his head, jo's shy voice introduced you to the family. "this is my brother. he’s the one who took all the embarrassing childhood pictures."

your laughter mingled with his, and you shared a knowing glance as jo’s brother playfully warned you to be prepared for an onslaught of embarrassing stories.

the living room radiated with warmth, and the air buzzed with anticipation as curiosity sparked within you. you followed jo's lead towards a cozy corner, where a sleek gray feline rested regally on a plush cushion.

jo’s eyes shone with a mixture of pride and adoration as he introduced mint, the feline companion who had captured his heart long before you had. "this is mint. she’s a little shy, but she’ll warm up to you soon."

you extended your hand gingerly, allowing mint to approach at their own pace. with silent grace, the cat circled you, their entrancing gaze connecting with yours, as if evaluating the new presence in their domain.

lost in the cat’s captivating presence, your attention became enraptured by mint’s charm. jo, couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as the focus seemed to momentarily shift away from him.

with playful sarcasm laced in his voice, jo interjected, "oh, you know, i’m just glad that mint’s giving you the attention i strive so hard to get."

your eyes met his, a mischievous grin on your lips. "sorry, jo, looks like I'm falling for your cat instead."

jo’s determined resolve kicked in, and he decided to take matters into his own hands. he orchestrated a series of "accidental" encounters, positioning himself in moments he hoped would divert your gaze from mint.

he stumbled over furniture, intent on capturing your attention, but the intended result only brought forth laughter and more endearing moments. in his pursuit of proving his captivating qualities, jo managed to embody both clumsiness and charm.

finally, jo grasped a toy in his hand, waving it subtly to inspire a playful response from mint. the cat's focus shifted towards jo, their playful antics captivating your gaze once more.

with an exaggerated pout, jo sighed dramatically. "looks like it's still mint who has your heart."

unable to resist his adorable jealousy, you closed the distance between you, your touch light against Jo's arm. "oh, jo, you have my heart. but mint definitely has a way of stealing the spotlight."

the atmosphere shimmered with warmth as jo’s tender eyes met your own. in that moment, you understood that beyond the quirks and the jealousies, what truly mattered was the unspoken connection shared between two hearts.

mint had woven a tapestry of affection, further intertwining the love that already flourished between you and jo. in their presence, you had come to appreciate the qualities that made jo so uniquely lovable.

now, you’re sitting on jo’s porch, you glanced at your phone, waiting for your mom to arrive and take you home, while jo rambled on about how he wasn’t “jealous over his cat”.

his words spilling out clumsily in an attempt to convince both himself and you that he wasn't the slightest bit jealous of mint stealing your attention. "oh, no, not at all, y/n. i’m perfectly fine being an afterthought compared to your relationship with my cat. i mean, who needs affection when mint is in the room, right?"

you couldn't help but smile, seeing through jo’s words. with a mischievous glint in your eyes, you placed a finger gently on his lips, effectively silencing his rambling. before he could protest, you leaned in and pressed your lips to his, capturing his surprise.

when you pulled back, you chuckled, intertwining your fingers with his. "oh my god, jo, you don't have to pretend you're not jealous. It's okay to feel that way. but trust me when i say that you have nothing to worry about. i love you for your awkwardness, your sweet nature, and yes, even your adorable bouts of jealousy. it’s all part of what makes you, well, you."

jo’s eyes softened, the tension leaving his board shoulders. a mix of relief and vulnerability reflected in his gaze. "thank you, y/n, i’m just glad to have you by my side, even if there's a cat stealing all the attention."

you smiled, squeezing his hand gently. "remember, jo, my heart belongs to you. no matter how fascinating mint may be, it's you who captivates me the most."

in that moment, the weight of jo’s worries melted away. the warmth of your love embraced him, and he found solace in knowing that he was enough, even with a charming gray feline lurking around.

HI ok so im still working out a lot of this au in my brain bc i am kind of bad at aus so sorry if some of this seems kind of bad or makes no sense….. This is also gonna be a long one and answer a lot more than just ur question so sorry. But i need to infodump it somewhere </3 ill put it under a break bc this is a LONG One sorry

So for morro ive talked abt how i think hes a robot who was built to fulfill the green ninja prophecy and his is his sole purpose/directive. To defeat the dark lord. Kind of how zane/echo are ‘built to protect’ and live by that (or try to lol). So morro is created a long time before the ninja come together and he seeks out wu in order to figure out how to get to Garmadon. Because his purpose is to defeat garmadon. And wu is like.(who the fuck is this guy) and basically takes him in under the impression that. Maybe he could actually be the green ninja? And even though wu realizes its  definitely not morro he does keep trying to train him bc he doesnt want morro to go off on his own to try and find garmadon. But eventually he has to come clean and morro is annoyed bc he thinks wu has put everyone in danger by stalling the prophecy (he obviously doesnt believe it when wu tells him hes not the green ninja because he *is*!) and he tries to leave as wu predicted, but wu doesnt let him and instead shuts him off for his own protection. Morro gets to live in the monastery basement for awhile and wu always thinks abt powering him back on but doesnt bc hes like. This guy is going to try and do stupid shit (hes right). So he just stays in the basement until obv the ninja arrive and the shows events happen as normal but the monastery gets burned down and in the rush to get out and the move to the bounty, wu forgets abt morro being there… and when he does remember hes there, he ultimately decides its probably for the best if he isnt powered on again bc there IS a green ninja now and he doesnt know what morro would do if he met lloyd. And doesnt want lloyd to get hurt. So cue skybound when nya and jay are on the run from nadakhan, instead of going to the lighthouse they instead go to the ruins of the monastery because jay remembers wu had this cryptic ass basement he would never let the ninja go into, and jay thinks maybe theres some kind of crazy secret weapon in there or something that can stop nadakhan. Instead they find morro, and they power him on. And hes like. Oh! Youre the other ninja from the prophecy. and agrees to help them although hes a little confused on whats going on bc hes like shouldnt we be fighting garmadon… but he joins the substitute ninja in the fight against nadakhan. 

Echo was Dr. Julien’s original son who was alive and like. A #real boy. I think maybe dr. julien wife(??) died in childbirth and echo was born very sickly so dr. julien sought out a magical way to heal him. I think this is probably how he got involved with the skeletons in the first place bc them seeking him out always felt random to me i feel like they should have some history mb. So maybe like samukai or another skeleton was like oh i totally know a spell that will make your son healthy and normal. And dr julien was like . Hm. but kind of desperate so he went with it and of course it  did make his son healthy and normal. Except the price of the spell is that it curses the soul of the person its used on. So echo lived normally with his father for many years until he was outside late collecting firewood one evening and was attacked by treehorns (this was before dr. julien built the guard robot) and A) discovered he had the ability to control the wind which was cool. Except he didnt know how to use it and just kind of fucked up badly and got lost in the woods while trying to run from the treehorns. And B) was still injured in the fight and now Also Lost and basically died trying to get home from both injuries + hypothermia. Rip bozo!. And of course dr. julien was devastated and like pinocchio-core i guess decided to build a new son and that is the  Current Zane. he is a copy but he was never told about that of course bc dr julien didnt want to think abt the son he lost. But yea echos soul was cursed and he went to the cursed realm which  um. Hardened him so to speak. He learned he was cursed because of his father and it pissed him off a little bit but only mildly. But i think the cursed realm is like hell or whatevr so the ghosts go through bullshit all the time bc like. Theyre the souls of the damned or whatever right. So by time echo manages to get out hes become apart of the pre eminents ranks and her plans and what not and hes like sure  whatever. I want revenge on my dad for cursing me (<-- guy who has gone through the ringer) but he gets out at the end of s4 and discovers. Oh. my dad didnt just curse me. When i died he replaced me with a stupid machine! Ok! And he possesses zane and also does pre eminent plan and etc….average s5 stuff i think. Idk im not the best at rewriting seasons if anyone has any ideas for this let me know.

I think at the end of s5 echo doesnt get his shit rocked because i like him. And i think it would be nice if he could get along with zane a little. So maybe he stays as a ghost and maybe nya or borg or whoever builds him a robot body he can possess and use instead of being a ghost all the time:) and he doesnt necessarily join the team bc hes not . a ninja nor does he want to be but hes still the master of wind so hes a useful ally to the ninja and helps them out with bigger threats. LIKE. the sons of garmadon. Transition…. (PS. i also think that echo and morro would meet in skybound bc echo would also be on the substitute ninja team but this would be undone by jay. Of course)

So. the SoG go to the ruined monastery at some point or other to try and find some dirt on the ninja and also just to find old wu scrolls or whatever they can scrounge up. And What they DO scrounge up is this fuckass robot whos been here for however long bc. Obviously skybound didnt happen! And jay and nya never went back for morro bc they were like. Morro and lloyd fight and morro reveals his identity to lloyd as the green ninja (he thinks hes very cool) and lloyd is like. What. lmfao. And is like. Youre  not the green ninja …? I am…? And they get into a fight abt it and morro beats up lloyd bc hes annoyed at all the lies this guy is saying to him about how his destinys already been fulfilled and wu lied and etc etc. lloyd loses the fight rip bozo. 

I am a wojira duo fan and i think that persists here except  its echo and nya instead so im gonna talk abt that. I think theyre friends. So i think nya would confide in echo about the events of skybound and so i think echo remembers what happened (in my mind skybound is like. Everyone can remember it but they have to be reminded what happened for it to be recalled? Bc splinter implies lloyd and clancee have vague impressions of it in their minds. Idk its interesting). So he remembers morro and when lloyd is like yea some fuckass robot is saying hes the green ninja  jay nya and echo all collectively just kind of look at each other about it. Like thats OUR fuckass robot saying hes the green ninja. And because i am not limited by pacing i can do whatever i want and have jaya tell the team abt skybound finally (things that shouldve happened in s8 originally lol) and theyre all like. Oh. what girl. And jay insists that if they can get to morro and tell him what happened in the lost timeline he will remember it and join them bc hes a good person at heart. (probably). So the next time they encounter him would actually be when pixal finds the SoG in ‘the quiet one’ so i think. Echo and her went together to go stall them since echo can also just fly over w the mech using powers lol. So they find killow morro uv and  echo and morro fight 1v1 . yuri btw. And echo reminds him of what happened and morros like. Hm. I do remember this. But i need to help the SoG so i can defeat garmadon and prove im the green ninja. So fuck off? But i think obv when the  SoG DO revive garmadon morro immediately tries to fight him and gets his ass kicked……I dont think he gets destroyed but i do think he gets fucked up enough (the ninja probably fix him) that he realizes lloyd wasnt lying and that he isnt supposed to be the one to fight garmadon. Like theyve all been saying. Which kind of fucks him up a bit bc like. Thats literally his sole purpose and wtf is he existing for if he cant even do that. Hmm. I definitely try to aim for hopeful endings, so even though things aren't fixed by the end of either This head is a hospital, someone please tend to it. or you're going too fast, you'll burn up soon, things are definitely looking up for Kate. I like to write Kate angst if you couldn't tell.

Do you write crossovers?

I haven't, but I'm not opposed to it! - that being said, I have some crossover-y art ideas that someday I will actually draw.

No thank goodness. I would almost certainly cry.

In theory I'm open to it, in practice I don't really.

I must say, I do enjoy a good ship, but I'm not sure I have an all-time favorite? Different ones are special to me for different reasons. But I might have to answer Korrasami because their relationship and the ending of the show were so so important to me as a queer kid who was just starting to figure that out.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

Ough. I don't want to put any of my Space Opera AU stuff in this category because that would make me sad. So I will just say I have a number of partially-written fics that I forget about and who knows if I will actually finish them.

Sini: Maybe keep the idea of Gonta killing Himiko and Kaede killing Gonta, and then have Rantaro die because he broke the rules in some way? You could pull a Mukuro on him

I got another idea too, what if Rantaro kills Kaede if you were to use the card key motive again, what if he gets ahold of it, frustrated just like others with Angie insisting they just don't use it and stay there forever when it could be an exit or used to reveal mastermind's identity, so he steals it from her and finds out about the end of the world, so he snaps, "we should have died with everyone" kind of thing, Kaede is the easiest target to start with (if Himiko is already out) since she's weaker than him and trusting (unlike Ouma)

Sini: What if….You mixed the two? Like, Kaede is the one in Rantaro’s place, whose character throughout the game has been kind of regressing as time has gone on. Growing more pessimistic and untrusting. She would also be eager to know if the key could reveal the mastermind’s identity in any way, since she’s been looking for them since day one and growing more paranoid and bitter about it. Once the key card motive is revealed, she steals it from Angie and parallels Gonta in that she believes the others should all die. She could still kill Gonta because she finds him suspicious, and if he’s not, then he’s actually a pretty easy target to lure. She also might want to kill him because she believes it’s what he deserves after what he did (in that case, the character regression would be very real). Or, she could go full Gonta, and believe killing Gonta is best because he was the nicest of the group and has already gone through sm pain that he deserves to die first/not through execution. I feel like Kaede would definitely be the type to take the burden of living if she had to

having more time in the game Kaede's whole preaching cooperation and trust would slowly crumble away, seeing how in canon she was trying to reassure herself as much as the others at the start and failed to, coming to conclusion that she needs to do something herself, that Shuichi's plan is not enough, that she's not going to hope Kaito's group comes up with something. Here she had time to simmer in it and get so much worse

and I'd love to see that, let her run out of positive things to say, hang outs to distract herself with, mantras to fall asleep to and hopes that all of that was a bad dream. She can't keep waiting for something to happen and then the next thing that happens is another murder instead of the awaited rescue, to get out she is going to make it happen

guess, she was wrong when she got there, maybe you can't trust people, maybe they're all out for blood, maybe somebody else is already planning her demise

Sini: Yeah…. And there’s no point. The world is destroyed There’s no home to go back to She might as well take a chance at killing the one person she can suspect as the mastermind

she regressed so far that she reached the pg Kaede mindset, no faith in humanity, they're all capable of murder, perhaps they're there because they deserve it

Sini: YES! If even Gonta can kill…Nobody is safe. Nobody can be trusted She kills him with the poisonous bug, but the others wouldn’t know that until ways into the trial. They might think it’s classic poison. Calling back to canon chapter 4 with the poison left on the seat. Both are diversions

if they all die, then there will be no more humanity, no more cruelty, betrayal after betrayal, it'll be over

Sini: Imagine for a moment Kaito is framed, again? Cause he’s the ultimate detective, the poison might’ve came from his lab

Sini: Also, this would hurt Kokichi sm. He’s already been questioning himself with the reveal of Gonta being the second culprit. He’s alive and he doesn’t know if he can even look at him anymore… His feelings on the matter conflicting with one another. And then to later find that he’s dead? O O F

framing Kaito is a good idea, but also what if she staged it as a suicide, really take Kokichi out of investigation with a gut punch imagine he said some shit to Gonta after the 3rd trial he'd blame himself

Sini: So I was thinking with this that maybe Rantaro doesn’t vote for Kaede in chapter 4 because if the world is really destroyed, then his sisters (if still lost in this au) are most certainly dead. However, I don’t think he would do that unless he was 100% certain that the world was destroyed. He’d have to see it for himself to truly believe, as he has his doubts on the legitimacy of all this. So what if in chapter 5, if they all see the outside world and later become depressed, TW Rantaro actually commits to killing himself? He’d do it in front of everyone so that there is no case to solve. The guilt and grief he’d feel….He’d see no point in living anymore. He might even feel guilty for not being able to be useful in preventing the murders or doing more to uncover the truth. He’d consider himself a failure in every way. Maybe he does so through breaking another rule? Again, typical Mukuro, but just done on purpose

Ves: NSHJDBGHSGDD….she said fuck ALL YALL except for you gonta you're an angel and we're all glad you're here- i think abt the gonta&himiko scene where he asks how he can help and she tells him he radiates so much mana he can just stand there and it'll help her simply Having A Gonta Around does wonders for magic

Sini: IT DOES But man, that just reminds me how sad Gonta killing Himiko is If you make it where just Korekiyo is the culprit, maybe have him kill Himiko instead. That way we can have the Tenmiko angst, just reverse. Also, we’d get Tsumugi as a survivor, which I think has potential. Let Tsumugi have a character arc!

Ves: i think maybe. do something to make gonta think of it as his fault even if he didn't directly off someone

but think about Kokichi's character arc

then he'd get executed cause monokuma wouldn't have anyone else to execute? Like Celeste?

Ves: there wasn't the first come first serve rule in that game though "Rule #15: If two different murders by different murderers occur at the same time, only the one whose victim was found first will be the blackened." do i have to HIDE kiyo then?? what vague wording

and in ndrv3, Monokuma only introduced the rule in ch3, knowing what happened to sow distrust but Gonta wouldn't want to get away with murder, so he wouldn't hide the body

Ves: but i also wanted to have more survivors :[

Sini: Mind you, Kokichi can still have that moment to himself cause Shuichi exists. But Gonta being a killer could do wonders for his character as well. If you have it where Kiyo kills Himiko and Gonta kills Kiyo, then it’s very likely Gonta could still get executed cause he’s the only culprit left alive.

then stick the the og idea, you can save Rantaro instead of Tsumugi

Ves: so like. himiko runs away from the crime scene, gonta tries to catch her, breaks her spine like a rabbit at the vet?

nothing's going to have the same impact, this is good because it's Gonta and she isn't even the culprit and he doesn't get executed

this is what hits the spot for character arcs for Tenko, Kokichi and Kaede (her last fucking nail) and anything else would be softening the blow, that's no what DR is about, hit them with the hammers

Ves: you're right and i hate it ○|￣|_ kokichi doesn't make up with gonta bc of his own pride and then gonta FUCKING DIES, and that feeds nicely into his forgiveness for shuuichi…i see the vision

and to finish it off, my take on the Themes in the AU:

what an interesting theme for the entire season it paints, the power struggle, having people who try to define and control you, use you for entertainment vs the abused, overcoming, getting from under the shoe SWINGING, finding ways to be their own person. Tenko's crisis would fit in nicely, and have parallels with Kaede's arc downwards. They both start as leader types that might come over a little bit too strong, Tenko loses faith in herself, Kaede loses faith in people, Tenko gives up on leading and falls in step with others, Kaede gives up on others and starts acting on her own, behind their backs. Kaede wants to make the decision for everyone that life's no longer worth it. Angie wants to decide what's best for everyone. Kaito wants to decide their lives, treating them like puppets. But their lives are their own. And true leadership is guidance, not force. Shuichi is the tragic example, showing how important having community is to be able to stand a chance against abusive authority. well, for M1-U it might be more dying on her own terms at best, would be cool if she self-destructed after getting hauled-off to the execution of found a way to make the execution go differently than Monokuma intended

Sini: Shuichi had access to community but couldn't truly be a part of it due to how Kaito controlled him. You could maybe contrast that with Kokichi who goes through a positive arc of letting people in and teaming up with others more. Him representing what a good leader could look like

it was too little, too late for Shuichi

Sini: OOOOO! YEAH! That's perfect! She died doing her own thing and by her own hands OH SHIT! That's actually really poetic. Cause in canon, Kaito is the one who died on his own and not by Monokuma's hands. Now he's the villain who got beat by his own alternative actions

(Lol rainbow you were the first person to have sent me anything for this so I'm just going to do mb. Also I got distracted for two days by other stuff so I still want to try this ask game thing but I’m pretty sure the post got buried)

First impression: I have no memory of my first impression of it but probably along the lines of "huh, that's cool, I love this line." (I could theoretically go find where I first heard about them and whatever but I'm not going to because I purposely deleted the password to that online account)

Impression now: I like it. It's a depressed anxious aroace agender who cares SO MUCH for everyone it comes into contact with. Also it's fun to mess with in stories because of its hobby of deleting information it doesn't want to think about lol

Favorite moment: Many, but especially the moment I turn over and over in my head is that awkward moment with Farai where it's like. No. I have no idea what our relationship is. Sorry. And it is so awkward but at the same time that's the truth and it's got a complicated relationship with everyone and I love it.

Idea for a story: Canon adjacent, I want to see it trying out different types of preservation textiles with its humans while it looks for something its sensory issues can handle. AU related, something in which it learns to be a great magic user due to realizing its hacking tricks work on the universe too (this is specifically the magical au I'm fond of but any other magical au also works)

Unpopular opinion: I wish it would spend more time with Preservation, developing those friendships, rather than running off with ART at the first opportunity.

Favorite relationship: With presaux in general but also specifically I like its relationships with Mensah and with ART, especially in alternate universes where the circumstances of their meetings were different yet they still become friends. (Very very specifically I'm thinking of the set of AUs (I can think of at least three I have notes on that fit this description) in which everyone is a teenager of some type and it has a sibling type relationship with Mensah while having a best friend relationship with ART and yet the interactions are almost exactly the same.)

Favorite headcanon: There are a lot of things I think it would enjoy if it let itself try them, including: silk/alpaca blend fabric, spinning yarn, writing fanfic, singing…

MBS Crack AU that just came to me: SQ Sneaks Off to Stonetown, and, Through a Series of Mishaps, Accidentally Joins the Society (hear me out):

(And apologies as always for spelling/grammar mistakes, I typed this up on my phone pretty late at night, but I hope you still enjoy it).

One day, SQ, tired of being stuck on the island and beginning to get into his "teen rebel" phase decides to sneak off the island to spend the day in Stonetown. He waits for a time when his father needs space, says he’s going to the woods, and sneaks out and back on the supply boat. SQ does this a few times, gets comfortable with it, and eventually make a habit of it.

On one of these occasions, he's looking for something to do and sees a news article advertising to give a scholarship to students looking for special opportunities. SQ figures, "hey, maybe if I get this fancy scholarship, dad will see how capable I am, and maybe he'll give me some more freedom." So he goes to take the tests, and when they ask him to write in his parent's names or family information, he doesn't want to write down his father's name (then they'll call his father and get him in trouble), so he just says that his birth parents are dead (which is true).

SQ passes the exams and is brought in to meet Mr. Benedict. At first, he's like, "oh a guy that looks kinda like my Dad. Weird." because Mr. Benedict looks and acts so different that there's no way it's his dad's twin. Then Mr. Benedict says his name is Nicholas, and SQ's like "WAIT... no, no, it can't be, my dad has a different last name, probably just a… really weird coincidence… yeah that’s it” (deep down he knows the truth, but doesn’t want to admit to actually kinda liking the man who betrayed his father).

Then Mr. Benedict shows them his fancy gadgets, talks about the Emergency, and they are attacked by some people that SQ recognizes as his Dad's security team, after which Mr. Benedict explains that he is certain that the messages are coming from the island where his Dad runs his school and that humanity's last hope is to send in a team of children to stop him.

SQ is internally panicking, obviously, because on the one hand, he can't believe his dad is actually doing anything evil, his father is a good man, surely, he wouldn't, but the evidence is right in front of him.

Then the other kids start dropping their backstories and SQ's like "oh...yeah...my birth parents died too...and uh, yeah that's all there is to that story..." but inside he’s totally freaking out because his dad is the man they are trying to stop, but he can’t tell the society what he knows without telling them who his dad is, and he can’t tell his dad about the society without confessing to sneaking out, and SQ isn’t sure who he wants to tell what to because he is still in denial about his dad being evil (but the evidence is pretty compelling).

Eventually realizing that he has to get back home or his dad is gonna worry, SQ reluctantly tells Mr. Benedict that he can't be part of the team. Mr. Benedict is understanding, tells SQ that he doesn't owe him or anyone else an explanation, and says he'll always be there if SQ needs anything, which makes SQ feel even more guilty. He sneaks back home, and when the other children get to the island, he acts as if he simply changed his mind and decided to come on the mission anyway (and the other children assume Mr. Benedict must have sent in paperwork to get him admitted after them because why else would he be here on a dangerous mission?).

SQ finds being an unwilling double agent isn't as hard as one might think. Curtain doesn't use SQ as a messenger or executive and the fact that he's Dr. Curtain's son isn't widely talked about because SQ never had any friends to being with. And he’s older than the society, so he just tells them he’s in other classes with other older students (that the society is not a part of which is why they don’t see him in class).

So occasionally SQ has to come up with excuses for his dad (saying he has homework to do when he's really going to meet up with the society), and excuses for the society (saying he needs to get to bed early because he's sick, when really he's going to have dinner and work on a project with his dad). Although Constance in particular (due to her psychic powers) regards SQ with suspicion, SQ proves himself useful as he seems to have an intimate knowledge of the island, the executive's schedules, how to sneak into the forest, etc. which the other children chalk up to him just having a natural gift for spying (which must be why he was chosen for the team).

Meanwhile, what SQ really wants is to figure out the truth. He's doing all this double agent stuff and still doesn't know what side he's on. He doesn't want to betray his family or his friends, and he never asked for this.

However, when other children start freaking out like: "oh my gosh: Dr. Curtain is totally Mr. Benedict's twin!", it confirms SQ's suspicions, and at this point, he starts asking his dad more questions about Nicholas. His dad finds this odd, but figures, okay, SQ is getting older, he's curious about his family, so was I at that age, makes sense. So Curtain tells him all about the betrayal, and how (from his perspective) Nicholas broke his promise, spat in his face, and declared his brother dead to him. SQ struggles to believe someone as kind as Mr. Benedict could have ever done that, but he wants to believe his father because he still loves him.

The real turning point comes when SQ overhears his father's conversation with Garrison and sees that they are brain sweeping people (he's hiding with Kate and Constance in the cabinet in Garrison’s lab). At this point, SQ starts really freaking out, because there is no denying his dad is evil now, but he doesn’t know what to do and he can’t go to his friends for emotional support without telling them the truth.

Then, later, when Reynie is freaking out because Constance is hearing voices, Sticky is brainwashed, and Kate is running off the scale the tower alone, he somehow also finds out that SQ is Dr. Curtain’s son. So instead of SQ feeling betrayed by Reynie when he finds Miss Perumal’s letter that Madge drops, the feeling of betrayal is in reverse and Reynie feels betrayed by SQ for lying to them and not telling them that Dr. Curtain is his father.

SQ, when confronted, tells Reynie the truth: that he didn’t know about his dad’s plans, and he wasn’t trying to infiltrate the society, he just wanted to see if he could get a scholarship or something to impress his dad. Reynie asks him what he’s going to do now that he knows the truth and SQ, after some hesitation says that he can’t fight against his own father… but that he’s not going to stop them.

Then SQ goes alone to confront his dad and Curtain once again dodges his questions, which makes SQ lose the little respect he had for him. SQ then overhears the society talking about the narcolepsy thing, and realizes having never seen his dad have a seizure, there is only one emotion his trigger could be (the one emotion SQ has never seen).

SQ tells them about the vulnerability thing, and Reynie gives him one last chance to come with them, but SQ still decides to stay with his dad saying that he wishes he could be their friend, but he can’t abandon his family (and that despite everything is father has done, he doesn’t deserve to be abandoned again). Reynie asks him if that’s what SQ really wants, and SQ affirms it, but doesn’t sound entirely sure.

Then SQ hides and watches the drama between his dad and the society go down from security cameras. He feels awful when he sees how sad and hurt his dad really his, he feels happy when Reynie confirms that his dad does love him, and he feels guilty when Nicholas talks about loving Curtain but needing to leave him (because that’s how SQ feels, but he also sees how much Nicholas leaving has hurt and damaged his father and he doesn’t want to do that).

Once his dad knocks out Nicholas, SQ watches in horror, worried that his dad is gonna like. End him or something, and confirm that he is truly fully evil, but Curtain just leaves Nicholas on the floor and begins the evacuation procedure. SQ, to minimize suspicion, follows the procedure and leaves with his dad and Garrison, playing dumb to everything. SQ also figures that if this is about his dad feeling hurt, maybe he can find a way to make his dad feel better and convince his dad to be a better person too.

Unfortunately, at some point, Curtain realized or guessed that his son was semi-working with the society (and possibly knew all along about SQ's little trips to Stonetown and was monitoring him). He admonishes his son for it, but says that he’s proud of SQ for doing the right thing by choosing to come with him, because what Curtain is doing is for the good of the world and the society would only betray him in the end.

SQ then hesitantly clarifies that he loves his dad, but that he disagrees with his dad and thinks that what he and Dr. Garrison are doing is wrong. He reveals that he found out about the brain sweeping, and begs his dad to promise that he’ll stop doing stuff like that, because it’s wrong and he’ll get arrested, and all SQ wants is for them to be together and be a family. Curtain replies that he loves SQ and wants them to be a family and to be together too. Curtain also acknowledges that the brain sweeping might have been an unpleasant discovery, but that SQ has to trust that it is for the best. SQ says that he isn’t sure he's able to do that, to which Curtain replies that he will be able to soon enough (cue SQ getting gently knocked out and Curtain sweeping him).

Meanwhile, the kids tell Nicholas that SQ is with Curtain and Nicholas’ initial reaction is “I thought he said he couldn’t come! He must have felt guilty and somehow got to the island anyway and now Nathaniel has kidnapped him to get leverage over me and this is all my fault! That poor boy!” and he passes out, only to wake up to be informed that no, actually, that SQ has been Curtain’s adopted son all along and Nicholas’ nephew, and he chose to stay with his father, which again causes Nicholas to pass out. When Nicholas finally calms down and wakes up, he’s more determined than ever to find his family, stating that there must be some good in Nathaniel if he raised such a wonderful son, and that his nephew and his brother need him.

However, SQ at this point, has no memory of his uncle or his friends, and Curtain is determined to keep Nicholas from “stealing” his family again.

Xdinary Heroes in Hogwarts

So as some of you may know I love Harry Potter, Ive grown up with it and recently I found out Gaon likes Harry Potter as well... I also saw the pics from the fansign. So obviously I had to place the others in hogwarts. Here is what I think each house the members would be in and how they would be in Hogwarts!

He's answering every question thrown at him

I think he would possibly be a half blood

So he has experience in the muggle world

And the magic world

He makes his parents very proud either way

Jungsu was tough because he's either a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor

But I ended up going with Hufflepuff

He's such a sweet guy

But I feel like Jungsu is the type of Hufflepuff you should never underestimate

I feel like he's a master at Herbology

He knows not to stick his finger in a screaming Mandrake

He also knows the specialty of Gillyweed

He's clumsy so Quidditch could end bad

But I feel like his reserved personality puts him in a better fit for Ravenclaw

He would definitely be the focused one in his classes

I feel like he would take a liking to multiple classes like transfiguration, and care of Magical Creatures

So yes

He got a time turner so he could experience multiple classes

He'd definitely enjoy freaking out Gaon

He also looks like the kind to spend his spare time in the astronomy tower

He loves the view from it

He's also a sucker for Hogsmede

Junhan would have non magic parents

A while ago I made a post about weird fanfics I saw on wattpad.

Well this is about the fanfic that I love/really enjoy.

Spoilers (Kinda)

Starting off we have.

“It’s Just You..” And “Oh. Wow.” By Melvinborghater. I love anything by melvinborghater but I’m gonna use these two as an example.

“It’s Just You..” Was the first fanfic I read on wattpad. I’ve been following it sense I joined wattpad and I really love it dearly.

“Oh. Wow.” Is the sequel to “It’s Just You..”. And it’s equally as good. It takes place when Melvin and Harold are teens and it’s probably more dark and angsty (?) then “It’s Just You..”

I really enjoy both and I strongly recommend them!

Also it’s melvarold so that’s an immediate love for me.

A vengeful void. DEAR GOD I LOVE THIS ONE.

It’s a two hour reed but if you have the time you should read it.

How I would describe it shortly is… Well. I can’t believe I’m tying gr!melvin into this…

In my mind. There are four time lines after season two (of tetocu). The main universe (Aka season three), where George and Harold are nice and Melvin kept them alive. Guilt ridden Melvin’s universe, where Melvinborg manipulats Gr!melvin into leaving George and Harold in Cu’s mind even though they where nice. Melvinborgs universe, where George and Harold where mean and mb ditched them. and then something like the vengeful void, where George and Harold are HORRIBLE to Melvin. It’s actually Harold who’s the main antagonist in this book! George actually try’s to be friends with Melvin but it doesn’t work out.

And I find that genuinely interesting! It’s a cool premise and I loved reading it. I’m not gonna spoil anything else so go read it if you’re interested.

The spinoffs series! Also one of the first fanfics I read. It’s really good and funny. I don’t have much to say without spoiling it so I’ll say this.

BAD DOLPHINS AU! When I originally heard about it I wasn’t intrigued in the slightest. But, one night I was bored and I wanted to reed fanfic. So I read this one. AND I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW MUCH I LIKED IT! It’s so good! I know most of the fandom has probably read, or at least heard of this before. But I recommend it. Even if you have read it. REED IT AGAIN.

Okay. Okay guys hear me out please, I know I’ve already created a bunch other Au’s for MB but I’ve been think about this recently and I may explode if I into more detail.

Anwyas. So, basically it’s this cyberpunk setting, idk maybe the years 2130 or something. Sheriff is a bounty hunter, hunting down and occasionally eliminating criminals in order to earn some cash and pay off the loan he used to get a cybernetic arm and to keep himself and his brother (Ryan) somewhat financially stable.

Shooter is his partner in crime, his guy in the chair almost. He basically just helps with upgrading Sheriffs stuff and giving guidance and advice when the need for it arises.

Brutux is a criminal who on occasions, hires Sheriff to play assassin. He pays a good price for it though so Sheriff doesn’t mind a few stealth missions every now and again.

Vegan, BP and Dr. White are cops in this, they do not like Sheriff at all. In fact they are actively trying to arrest him, god knows he’s got enough crimes under his belt to be locked up. So yeah, they aren’t on friendly terms.

The general gist of the plot is that there’s a new enemy making themself known in the underground community (this would be Wart) and is said to be releasing these freaks of nature that are some weird mutant combination between various animals and even humans and cybernetic enhancements/materials. So yeah, Sheriff runs into these creatures first, tells Shooter about ‘em, cops eventually find out about them and unfortunately they kinda have to briefly join sides to eliminate their common enemy.

Idk guyz. Someone put me in a straitjacket to stop me from typing my ideas and Au’s. MB has randomly made its comeback in my life with another Au.
