If there is a coupon I will find it lol. I can't tell you how many times I've signed up for American Eagle text messages and then unsubscribed just to get 15% off every time. I think I had a crazy reward and then the jeans were already on sale. I'm pretty sure they have to charge you something in order for the sale to go through so I think they HAD to charge me something.

I'm already enjoying my break actually despite my period. Thank God for Midol tbh I think I would die without it. My body is very clockwork so after cramps for a FUN 24 hours it's usually much more manageable. I HAVE to take meds though even if I don't feel crampy right away. The second my body realizes I'm on my period it's like "TIME FOR CRAMPS" and again, if I don't take the meds right away I get behind the pain and I am FUCKED for the remainder of the 24 hours.

I am trying to relax as much as possible because May and June are going to be crazy with senior prom/graduation and stuff. Plus I've outsourced myself as well for lots of other projects 🙃 I really need to learn to say no (time to reread Dolcezza) But I plan on finishing this book I'm reading (I haven't done very well reading lately, but I'm telling myself it's okay because it's not a race and I read a lot early on.) I do have to do some lesson planning but I actually enjoy that because I find math soothing like a psychopath hahahahaha

That's amazing you like skinny jeans. I feel so ostracized sometimes when it comes to my jeans choices. All my friends and coworkers have moved on with the trends and I'm still in 2013/2014/2015/2016 hahaha. VERY controversial: I actually really like jeans. I always by jegging jeans so they're super stretchy and comfy. Obviously if I can wear leggings I will hahahaha.

I'm crying about the electric scooter. You must be on a sizable campus to have electric scooters that's so funny. People drove their bikes/skateboards around campus a lot but no scooters. I loved the area my college was in (I actually live down the street from it in an apartment now because I love this area so much) it's very much the setting behind My Friend's Toyota hahaha

LOOK AT YOU MISS DETECTIVE HAHAHAHAHA I didn't even realize that about Made to Be that's so funny and true. I tried a bit of everything tbh. I did swimming (mostly so I wouldn't die growing up on the beach) and tennis lessons which I wasn't good at either but I really enjoyed anyway. I suck at ice skating (do you know how often you use your ankles for pretty much every sport? 🙃) and idk what it is about basketball but I may as well just sit in the middle of the court it would be less harmful to those around me.

OH BESTIE SAME HERE ABOUT FEELINGS. Everyone around me told me my bf liked me before we started dating and I was like "No he doesn't he thinks I'm gross" ☠ if they found me hot and attractive I kinda wish they told me! 😭 it's selfish but it would have done a nice boost to my ego. I was never the 'looked' at friend if you will. I called myself The DUFF™ all throughout middle and high school I really did a number on my self-esteem 😭 I am probably a little toxic when it comes to being a STEM girly lol because I tried so hard in high school and college to prove I was just as smart as the boys (sometimes more actually 😉)

There have been multiple polls showing that only a small portion of furries are zoophiles, and any controversy involving a furry zoophile is guaranteed to have furries on the persecution side. (Take zoophile YouTuber Sappho for example. You can easily find multiple furries breaking down Sappho’s disgusting arguments)

Not to be a contrarian, but I still get the occasional anon hate for shipping reylo, and I'm not even a reylo blog, I just occasionally reblog art, and this same year (in May I believe) the host of a popular poll tournament made a bunch of polls pitting reylo against many other popular ships as a challenge to see if they could make it have 5% or less in every single one of them, all in supposed "good fun", and most of these polls made rounds up to 5~10k notes, if not more, not saying a subset of them aren't annoying af and I actually envy you for never coming across the antis and haters, but the shippers, even the casual ones, are still very much mocked and harassed.

I mean I don’t doubt the ship gets/got disproportionate hate either. But basically my take is that it’s not that serious 🤷‍♀️

Big fandoms often have the random drama ship that garners a lot of hate and controversy. It’s dumb and annoying but also I wouldn’t say it’s exclusive to reylo either. Like obvs getting anon hate sucks and getting dogpiled sucks etc but this is the internet, it’s pretty toxic all around.

I don’t think that precludes the community getting its hackles up and responding fairly unreasonably in the face of pretty mundane opinions. Is it tied to over defensiveness from the fandom being a war zone? I don’t doubt it! But like you gotta have some perspective lol

The Absolon Kingdom: General information

I uploaded the picture of Idris’s face because he’s the King of the Absolon King, not because he’s totally my favorite character.

I think it’s where the Absolon Kingdom (AK) is located.

@lunanelfeah suggested that creating a separate post to explain about the Absolon Kingdom might be a good idea, I have to admit it’s an incredible idea. And @dynastiasimss also suggested me this website https://www.notebook.ai/ , I love this site, thank you. Brace yourself for long af essay, forgive me if some political things just don’t make sense, lol.

The beginning of the Absolon Kingdom dates back to the 16th century, when witch-hunt was a prevalent practice. That was God’s intention to gift ordinary people special superpower, so he could encourage the Gatekeepers to start treating people reasonably. The Gatekeepers’ duty is giving moral assessment and advice to human beings, so they can improve themselves and become a better person. But the Gatekeepers haven’t even thought about developing any sort of guidance or regulation regarding this matter, they only give people points based on their feelings. If the Gatekeepers have bad mood, or just don’t like someone’s appearance, they may give a person extremely low moral score that later affects their chance of reincarnation without any single reason.

So God wanted the Gatekeepers to understand human better, but their ego got in the way. They found it offensive that angels and demons had been granted the Heaven and Hell respectively from the very beginning, yet the Gatekeepers had to build their own territory. They refused to accept they have equal position as the Human Beings, refused to be restricted to one country on Earth. Therefore, the Gatekeeper’s great ancestor, King Park V, had to gather people with special ability on his own and found an island following God’s prophecy.

HISTORY

During the reign of Park Byung Ho:

He managed to establish the Absolon Kingdom, to build cities in an empty, deserted island. But he is a highly conservative man, who had been living for 1000 years. Due to the Gatekeepers' inability to accept the Absolon Kingdom as their territory, he had been sitting on the throne for approximately 500 years.

By the 1800s the Absolon Kingdom was already flourishing, but that was when a long period of stagnation started in the country. Some people began to have problem with his reign, they claimed he was too power-hungry to step down from the position and his long reign could lead to detrimental effects in the future. According to the political analysts, King Park V had become overly content with the Absolon Kingdom's current stage of development, that his conservativeness could only hinder the country's further progress. Due to these articles, censorship was tightened, significant human right concerns were observed in the AK. A great number of books, which were claimed to contain "harmful" ideologies, weren't allowed to be published (including The Realm of Magic book, that was mentioned in Lizzy's Issue).

In the beginning of the 21st century, the AK's economy still relied heavily on agriculture and magic, poverty and starvation were prevalent in the rural areas. As the country is located in a small island, the residents in disaster prone areas didn't receive neither prior warnings to evacuate nor helps from the government. Some of these areas were claimed to be abandoned by the King, but the residents were too impoverished to settle somewhere else. But the press wasn’t free to report such topics. By the end of King Park I reign the Absolon Kingdom had become severely underdeveloped. Literacy rate of the country was only 61.5%.

King Idris I reign:

During 16 years of the reign of King Idris I the Absolon Kingdom has experienced more changes compared to the last 100 years of King Park I ruling. Idris took Tran's family political ideas into account and sent groups of expedition to report on the outside world's level of development. Idris acknowledged that the current AK's agrarian society needed changes, that the country will only progress if the Absolonians find a way to combine magic and technology.

After 16 years of reign the Absolon Kingdom's farming, fishing, mining, manufacturing, textile..... industries shift to automated works. The services sector of economy grows in importance, accounting for a large percentage of employment in the AK. Many new private banks, business companies are established during Idris's ruling. The country's appearance has also been transformed significantly:

Censorship rules have been eased, for the first time people start obtaining the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly and association. Even if the fear to express their political views still exists within the country, many controversial publications (such as the Realm of Magic book that promotes the idea of connecting with the outside world) are allowed to be released to the public. A great number of broadcasting and news companies have been established in the span of 16 years, the Absolonians have the opportunity to gather information from other non-governmental news sources than the NNN (National News Network) chanel.

Many disaster prone villages have been rebuilt thanks to Idris, early warning systems have also been set up in these areas to avoid the severe impact of hazards. If storms or earthquakes do occur, Idris will offer relief and humanitarian aid to these areas, he even takes time to personally visit and use his healing power to treat injured locals. Hence, that's how he's called The Angel of the Kingdom.

Despite all the changes, the practice of public and cruel executions is still prevalent in the AK. The term “Minimum wage” has never been determined in the country, in order to achieve the current level of development the subjects of the Kingdom sometimes are required to work 20 hours a day without additional pay. Prisoners are treated as subjects of torture and human experimentation. The AK is still “underdeveloped” from a legal standpoint.

Regarding the connection of the Absolon Kingdom to the God Helpers and the territory of Hadesiallania (northern part of the AK).

During 1750s the Demons and the Gatekeepers had conflicts regarding their authority as the God Helpers. Eventually, their conflicts led to war (the demons attacked first), the Reapers just silently watched the bloodshed and remained neutral. The Gatekeepers realized they were losing, so they asked for the Reapers’ help.

The Reapers had always been considered as the sinners, the unluckiest God Helpers. They had to witness death every day, God never granted them any sovereign territory. There was a theory that the Reapers committed grave sins in their past life, so they had to live this life to pay for their mistakes. Some people rumored that the Reapers were the humans with 0 moral score, so God couldn’t decide whether to send them to hell or let them reincarnate.

So the Reapers made a deal, they agreed to support the Gatekeepers, as long as they were given part of the Absolon Kingdom territory. Hadesiallania is still a part of the Absolon Kingdom, but it’s an autonomous area. They have their own legal system, government (parliament and local executive authority), taxation system.

During a national survey, which was conducted in 2003, 80% of Absolonians voted against the idea of introducing the Absolon Kingdom to the global world due to the fear of witch-hunt. In October 2020 (after the rebel of Chi’s family) one unofficial online poll indicated that 90% of Absolonians would prefer staying hidden from the international community. But this data might be unreliable, since after the Tran family’s execution people with similar political views are discriminated against, so they’re afraid to speak out

BnHA Chapter 271: My Hero Tokodemia

Previously on BnHA: Mic was all “goodbye X-Less don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” and just LEFT him with Tomura, like. ???! X-Less was all “I’m gonna sit here and do nothing and wait to die.” Ujiko was all “this has nothing to do with ANYTHING but I just want you to know that I conspired to murder your husband 15 years ago and ended up killing his best friend instead!” Tomura was all “what up bitches I’m in this chapter too” and had trippy dreams about hands and buildings and his family was there and also All for One (the dude)! Because guess what, Tomura has All For One (the quirk) now! Because AFO gave it to him! So yeah! And now he’s waking up, and Deku can apparently feel it happening because he’s a horcrux probably, and so basically everything is FINALLY GOING TO SHIT AND IT’S ABOUT TIME BUT ALSO AHHHHH.

Today on BnHA: SHIGARAKI WHO TOMURA WHAT. Back to Gunga Mountain! So Dabi is all “you do know your beloved mentor just killed a guy right?” and Toko is all “!!” and Dabi is all “SO THAT MAKES HIM THE WORST CRIMINAL OF ALL!” and, WITHOUT THE SLIGHTEST HINT OF IRONY, IMMEDIATELY follows up this bold statement by TRYING TO BURN A CHILD ALIVE. Anyway so this is why Dabi wasn’t the keynote speaker at the “murder is bad” convention though. So most of the chapter is like this, with Dabi (albeit somewhat halfheartedly) trying to set Toko on fire while Toko desperately tries to keep between him and Hawks. Eventually though, Dabi is confusingly thwarted by Otter Pops, making his triumphant return and spraying a bunch of ice just every which way because things weren’t chaotic enough I guess! And then the chapter ends with everyone’s favorite Guy They Hoped Wouldn’t Be Waking Up In This Arc, Gigantomachia, waking up!! :’) :’) :’) etc you get it.

okay so I am please to clarify that the spoilers I received were not actually all that big of a deal, and that pretty much all I know is that we’re cutting back to Dabi and Tokoyami probably, and there’s a good chance we might not even see Tomura at all this chapter in spite of last week’s cliffhanger. so even if I’d have preferred not to know that up front, it’s all good! though I will say Horikoshi has a real knack for cutting away from things right when you’re at your most invested though. reminds me of what it was like reading Lord of the Rings for the first time. “nooo I don’t want to cut back to Frodo -- WAIT WHAT’S GOING ON -- NO I DON’T WANT TO CUT BACK TO MERRY AND PIPPIN DAMMIT -- WAIT WHAT”

[JUNE ‘21] - THE LIFE UPDATE NO ONE ASKED FOR (AND SOME QUICK LINKS)

Well, hello everyone! How are yous? Happy June! The sun has been shining here in Dublin for two days straight (for anyone who knows Ireland, you will understand that this is a notable event) so, by way of consequence, I’m in a very, very good mood! It’s twenty degrees; I’ve been on lots of walks and had take-away pints with friends - it has been such a lovely couple of days! Additionally, considering that there are a lot more of you on here than there were last month (which is mildly terrifying but oh-so awesome): welcome! This blog is a little bit of a trainwreck of my own shit posts but I’m so glad to have you on.

Harry&Hermione one-shot [in the manner of what I did with the wolf’s just a puppy and ce ne sont que des cailloux, I’m kind of in love with the idea of exploring the war and post-war canon world from different people’s perspective. I have had this Harry&Hermione one shot in my head for quite some time, basically outlining their friendship and life from Hermione’s perspective. I’ve gotten a lot of comments from people on Castles telling me that they loved the Harry&Hermione stuff so it would basically be more of that. If that sounds interesting, please do let me know.]

A bit in the manner of the above, I have a story about Seamus in my head as well, which I’d love to write re:the war and post war. Possibly Seamus/Dean but I haven’t quite decided.

An original horror/thriller story [Features a girl-serial killer and a very claustrophobic setting. Great vibes, lol.]

That Peaky Blinders fic I started and never finished [I’m just so intrigued by how Mosley said he knew May. I love May. It would be the story of that, lol.]

Currently, I’m reading:

I have to admit, I haven’t been reading loads this month. I think it’s always this thing of: if I’m writing, I don’t write and if I’m reading, I don’t read. I kind of need to block out other people’s stuff to write my own, if that makes sense. This being said:

I haven’t really advanced on either Watch her fall by Erin Kelly nor the Divergent series.

I have, however, FINALLY FINISHED Troubled Blood (the jkr/Robert Galbraith controversial novel). My verdict? Is it transphobic? Maybe? Like, if you squint? It’s a lot less transphobic than the essay, I’ll tell you that. No one is actually trans/claimed to be trans in this. The ‘trans serial killer’ doesn’t exist. There is, however, a side plot of a killer who crossdresses to lure his victims, which is an obviously re-hashed, lazy representation of cross-dressing as a negative thing. Is it full of second-and-third-wave feminist cliches? Yes. But it wasn’t that bad. Like, I’ve seen a lot worse. I was raised on second & third wave feminism so I’m somewhat more tolerant of them. No, honestly, my main criticism for this book is that it is FIVE HUNDRED PAGES TOO LONG. And, that’s coming from someone who loves long books (hell, my favourite potter book is OOTP). Would not recommend it unless you’ve already read the others and are invested in the characters.

I have started Face Off which is a collection of crime short-stories edited by David Balducci where famous main characters of different crime series meet. I’ve read the Michael Connolly/Dennis Leane one and it was fine. Not a bad read. There was one good quote.

I am also reading the seam between, an hp long fic by copper_dust, which is basically the best thing ever written. I rest my case and will probably never write again, considering the perfect-ness of this. If you like Sally Rooney, I get very strong Sally Rooney vibes from this.

In other news:

As I definitely hoped, this month has been a lot kinder to me than the last. My mum’s almost fully recovered from her stroke, which is its own little miracle for which I am very thankful. France has been taken off the mandatory quarantine list in Ireland which means I will soon be able to visit home (and hopefully get my vaccine shot). Also, as I said above, the sun’s been out for the past couple of days, which is also filling my heart with good things. After a drunken evening with a friend who swears that men-on-hinge suck less than men-on-tinder, I have downloaded hinge in the hopes of some post-pandemic dating. This fills me with a mix of enthusiasm and dread, like men generally do, and has led to some interesting realisations. Spoiler alert: men-on-hinge do not suck less than men-on-tinder and I am not one for online dating. I have never successfully dated anyone met online and most likely will not. Let’s hope for the sake of my single arse that pubs reopen soon.

My new job has been uneventful and mobilises about two brain cells at a time, but pays bills, so. Additionally, I’ve been having fun going through old tumblr posts which has sent me into a number of irrepressible bouts of giggles, looking at the shit posts I used to make when I was younger. I’ve also found some more interesting/creative pieces which I’ve been able to add to the quick links listed above. That’s definitely been fun.

This being said: look. The main thing that’s happened this month is a) the hinny ficfest and b) CASTLES IS OUT THANK FUCK. Guys, I know I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: you are fucking incredible. The amount of love and support I’ve received from the potter (and particularly hinny) fandom this past month has been through the roof; I really can’t thank you enough. Even for Castles, I mean. Ask @whizzfizz, they can tell you how much of an emotional wreck I was prior to posting, fucking convinced that a) no one was going to like this and b) I was going to get so much hatred for ‘going there’. Instead, you guys have been so supportive and appreciative, left entire bloody essays in the comment section, and oh, I can’t even fully comprehend it. I haven’t had time to properly answer anyone yet but I promise I will. I'm so excited to write what comes next. I probably won’t for a few weeks because I know that my brain needs to take a break but just know that you all have truly made my month.

There is one comment/question that I’ve had a number of times that I feel like I should address which is the do-you-write/would-you-write-your-own-stuff-one-day question. And, the answer to this is: I have/I would like to, but.

Basically, like everyone who has a day job, I only have so many hours a week I can put towards writing. And, whilst I admire people who write for the art/write for themselves, I don’t. I write to be read. Like, I know this sounds cliche but your comments, your kudos, your feedback is what I write for. I’m a gryffindor. I’m an extrovert. I seek attention like no one else, haha. My comment section is something to behold and if someone has taken the time to leave a review on my fic it kills me to leave a comment unanswered. I have learnt so much and am forever thankful for all the responses I’ve ever had on my work, be it positive or negative. Positive feedback feeds my ego. Negative feedback makes me grow. Hell, as I explained in the extended a/n, a single comment was basically responsible for me choosing the route I chose to take in the latest chapter of castles. Additionally, over the years, I have made countless connections and friends through fandom, and specifically through writing/reading fanfic. It has truly made my life so much better and to me, the engagement in fandom is invaluable.

And like, if I’m honest, yes, of course, it would be great to write my own stories, build my own world and my own characters. I’m sure if I sat down with it, I would have a million ideas a minute. And, yes, it would tangentially be great to make money off writing, though this has never really been my primary goal (side note: I refuse to monetise fanfiction for reasons outlined here). But … No one would read it? I mean, I’ve definitely seen this with the first short story I ever wrote. Getting it professionally published online was amazing. I couldn’t believe it. I even got money for it, which was fucking bonkers. But then… Nothing? Like: you don’t get comments, you don’t get feedback, you don’t get engagement. It is just a thing that exists, that gets put out into a void with a shrug and a thank you from the editor. And, that’s just not … Fun? At least not to me. I write for fun. For the community, for the comment section, and - to tell the truth - to connect with people. I truly admire writers who write a book in their own little corner for years before putting anything out there, but that’s just not me. Honestly, I don’t have the self-discipline for that, and I wouldn’t enjoy it. Like, let’s be real: if no one was reading castles, I probably wouldn’t care as much as I do. With the limited time I have to put towards writing, I prefer to write fanfiction because I know that it will be read/engaged with in some sense. I need feedback to stay motivated with a story, if that makes sense.

So, I don’t know. I’ve kind of been thinking of a patreon format maybe? More for the community aspect than the money aspect, if I’m honest. I don’t like the idea of posting on tumblr because I find long posts messy/hard to read but I think I’d write original fiction for €1/month if I’m honest, if I knew another human was reading it/if there was a regular deadline associated to it. So, like, let’s try this. If you would be interested in seeing that, maybe message me (anon or not) or like this post or something? If not, I think I’ll be perfectly happy to stick with only writing fanfiction at this point, at least until Castles is finished.

· A Paper – I’m a pretty decent writer so why not write a paper for my project? A minus is I don’t like writing a lot of long papers 😐

· Web Site – I’m a freelance web designer this will be very easy for me to do and also, I like designing websites. It would take me a couple of days to make a website.

· Video – Making animated video would be very easy and creative. May take longer to complete.

· Prezi – Prezi would be a very easy to make and it’s quick. I’ve never made a prezi before.

· Rap – This seems like a very fun tasks to do for a project. Why not showcase the good bars that I have? The only minus is I’m a terrible rapper.

· Interview – I mean I am a professional or am? Hmm……. This would be a good opportunity to really get into the understanding of the project from someone that works in the field of my project topic. The only minus is finding someone who would be willing to get interviewed.

· Story – I love writing poetry. I could totally make short poem. There’s no minus for this idea.

· Poll – Instead of interview people of could make a poll on twitter. The only minus is getting people to participate.

· Analytics Research – I think this would be very cool to do and it goes into what my major purpose. The only minus is this will be some hard work lol.

· An individual I will say is better, because it allows each individual to showcase their full work. I’m in favor of individual project because I never had a got experience working in groups.

· I’m not in favor of a group project, because I feel like it doesn’t fully showcase each individual full effort they put into the project because of time.

I met a guy who didn’t believe in evolution and I spent 20 mins explaining it to him and he still didn’t believe it. anyway the next thing that came out of his mouth was that he wanted to change his major to biomedical engineering and I felt my soul leave my body

it’s even wilder to me because something i didnt realize until i got to college is that in biological sciences, things that are ‘controversial’ in the public eye-specifically evolution and climate change? these things are taken as a given. like that’s how much sheer evidence exists. you walk into a biology classroom or lab and the question isn’t going to be if they exist, it’s going to be how it effects whatevers being studied. it isn’t up to debate. if ur really walking into a biomed classroom like ‘evolution isnt real’ like it’s not gonna be like high school where everyone’s like ‘haha yeah whatever’ you are actually going to get stares of disbelief from ur peers, like dude, how the fuck? why are you even here? how did you get x far in biology while just openly denying the existence of real, palpable forces of nature?

i remember one of my current professors taught my entry-level bio course in freshman year. it was a 200-300 person lecture hall. he did clicker questions a lot, and one of the things he did was take a survey of the class at the beginning of the semester responding to the question ‘is evolution real?’. a chunk of people, like probably 30% of the class, said that they doubted it.

later in the semester, we underwent the most extensive learning experience for the basics of evolution i have ever been through to this day. like he did four or five solid lectures JUST focusing on different reasons why it exists, from a number of different aspects. i remember thinking every day going to class ‘he MUST be done talking about why evolution exists today now’ but no. he was not. i believed in evolution long before college and i had no idea so much raw evidence for evolution existed.

at the end of this literal week and a half module on why evolution exists, he took another poll asking the same question of our class: ‘is evolution real?’. reminder that this was maybe a 200, 250 person class.

how many people said that they didn’t believe in evolution?

literally 3 people. part of me wants to believe that they were trolling, like ‘haha yea i dont believe in evolution lol’, but the farther i get in undergrad the more it haunts and vexes me. we’re in iowa, at a large public university, with a lot of people from more rural and religious areas; what could be the chances that there were at least 3 people in that class that just.....dismissed the past week and a half of study as fake? or thought that it was made up to push an agenda?

but that aside, my professor showed the results (three people out of HUNDREDS) on the projector, and then deadass said “if you are still doubting evolution, i recommend that you take a look at what makes you believe that way and question it”. AND THEN HE JUST MOVED ON. after that absolutely RAW line that to this day i think about at least once a month, he was just like ‘anyway’. like i have never had a teacher just flat out say ‘if you have a belief system that so strongly denies evolution that after a week and a half of being presented the evidence you still don’t believe it, and you want to go into the biological sciences, then either you are not right for the biological sciences or your belief system may be wrong’.

was it slightly rude? yes. i, personally, do not and will never have the ability to just like....say that. was it something that no other teacher in my educational career has been so frank about, and probably something that needed to be said right off the bat before going into more advanced courses? also probably yes.

but anyway im gonna be a TA in one of his other classes next semester lmao

The Soldier Enhancement Program, also known as the initials SEP, was an advanced medical and military training program conducted by the United States Army Special Forces and the Central Intelligence Agency from January 2047 to July 2047. The exact details of the program are still heavily classified, but the original purpose was to “genetically and phenotypically enhance selected recruits and soldiers of the Special Forces and develop a new programmatic military and tactical training to resist and counter Omnic forces and Omniums in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.” Selected Special Forces candidates, officially called “candidates” or “soldiers” within the program, or colloquially called “supersoldiers” by the general public, developed increased physical and mechanical strength, faster and more flexible agility, longer periods of sustained endurance, rapid innate biological healing processes, and higher stores of biochemical energy levels.

This is one of the most intelligently written stories I’ve read in a long time (and I mean including published fiction), not just because of your psychotically impressive attention to detail in military exercises, but in the way you write people too. Your characterization is complex and layered and so believable, and manages to expand upon what we know from OW while remaining true to the source material— little things like Reaper uses twin shotguns, so making Gabriel left-handed and thus ambidextrous is fucking perfect. There are a lot of very good falling-in-lust fanfics out there but very few pull off believable, true-to-character bonding the way you have. And I love how you’ve explored Jack and Gabriel’s different strengths/levels of experience, giving them opportunities to learn from each other while keeping them both fairly confident.

TL;DR - Your work is fucking awesome, and you better write a full novel (or at least get a Patreon account) so I can pay you for it with more than just my time.

Jack looks him dead in those beautiful, dark obsidian eyes, like smoke backlit by raw molten sunlight and fire -

And with an easy flick of his right arm -

As he hums lightly:

Guerra locks those abyssally dark eyes with Gabriel, staring him down

And a part of Gabriel’s anger boils over.

He won’t put himself on the line for them, nor the directors, nor this godawful program -

Nor his own miserable wreck of a country.

...But he will put himself - has put himself - on the line for what precious few people he has in his life: his parents, his sisters, his uncle

You really, really want an Overwatch story that feels like a badass action-adventure military movie that also has a deep, slow burn romance, uses full references and legit sources, uses actual canon/in-game quotes by the characters, is super dedicated to the main canon while still being grounded in the real world, and updates consistently.

...And you’re also really, really, really tired of waiting for the SEP Soldier: 76 skin.

Welcome to my latest summary of recent news, resources & studies including search, analytics, content marketing, social media & ecommerce! This covers articles I came across from May 3 to May 30, although some may be older than that.

I am out of town June 10-16, so I cannot predict when the next edition will come out, but I will do my best to make it before the June trip.
