I’ve always found Eunyung/Haejoon stuff a little odd, because isn’t part of what makes their relationship so interesting/hard-hitting the fact that Haejoon admits he couldn’t just choose the first person he saw to fill the hole in his heart? that even though they’ve changed each other so much, there are still ways in which they’re incompatible? It’s not like this is something that totally impedes the character pairing, but it never really seems to be addressed in ship content.

Vague gideon the ninth spoilers

I have been fermenting on my overall impression of gideon the ninth since finishing it last night and i would give it maybe a 3.5/5 rn.

The reason why i say "3.5/5 rn" is because i think this is the kind of book that would be better on a reread. the unique tone and wordbuilding took some time and effort for me to adjust to, and balancing that with actually following the plot/characters at the start was difficult for me... I didnt particularly enjoy the beginning because of this.

i wish i was able to pay attention to the details at the beginning of the book so that the revelations near the end wouldve had more of an impact on me during my first read. i wasnt fully able to grasp the reason behind gideon and harrow's codependent hate-vibes at the very beginning so when the pool scene happened i was happy for them but i had to trust that some of the details they discussed were... touched upon before and i had missed it because by brain sucks and it just mightve tossed that info out as it was being bombarded with other info from all sides.

It DID get easier to read as i got used to everything. I got invested in the cast, i thought the over all plot beats were solid. I loved the action scenes. Also despite [redacted] i want harrow and gideon to kiss. Please. on to the sequel to see if that wish will come true.

Anyway this is actually me just contemplating on whether I should make them myself or not, cause A) I am bored, it could be fun and it'll give me inspo for fan arts and B) I'd have to actually sit through the series

the whole Miles being an anomaly bc he was bitten by a spider from another universe got me thinking... Miles from 1610 was bitten by the 42 spider... and yet he is fine? you’re telling me he got alternate universe spider venom shot into his veins and that in itself is fine?? It did not fuck him up even a little bit? he is stable?? should he not be glitching on the principle of having alternate dimension spider gunk running in his veins???

That machine that sent things back to their correct universes by reading their dna read Miles 1610 dna and saw the 42 spider dna in him... how can those two things co-exist when beings from different universes glitch when in an universe that is not their own??? shouldn’t that have potentially out right killed him??

Miles is an anomaly. He should not exist. and yet he does . . .

Well, it used to be during the fight with Brahm, but I am going to tweak it a bit and say it happened earlier than that so when he got attacked he was already afflicted :]

Not quite sure HOW that happens yet though, but itd need to happen in the area where Deimos sleeps, maybe getting too close to it during a hunt and inhaling the miasma (or maybe even encountering her and waking her)
