Summary: Thrud/Raiden

Thrud is understandably nervous and perhaps a little upset when she's sent on another blind date by her sisters, bemoaning the evening she's about to have. 

She's sure it'll go as it always does, and hurt her even more than she has been.

She isn't expecting a man like Raiden to be waiting at Ragnarok Cafe.

A/N: Thrud is my beloved girl and I love to see a big girl find love. She and Raiden deserve happiness 😊🥰

"Come on, guys, are you serious? Another blind date?"

Thrud sighed and shook her head, folding her arms over her muscled chest. 

"Yeah!" Goll exclaimed, "it'll be amazing! He's a little bit intense but you'll love him! When have we ever steered you wrong??"

"Every single date I've ever been on until now," Thrud replied dryly.

It wasn't even hyperbole. Thrud had never had a successful date in her life. Men never knew what to expect with her, given how stunning all her sisters were, and she didn't know if she could handle another bad date.

The way it usually went was like so:

Thrud shows up, trying to reign in her emotions and mentally prepare herself, and easily spots her date: whichever man has a look of shock and worry on his face. 

She tries not to flinch as she has to deliver the terrible news that she is, indeed, his date, and yes, she is really the 3rd Valkyrie Sister. 

The look on his face is one of horror, and she has to try not to let it hurt her the way it always inevitably does. 

Minutes later (sometimes two, sometimes twenty), he has an excuse and leaves her all alone, trying not to cry in public as yet another painful rejection breaks her heart a little more.

"Okay, sure, there have been some duds. But this guy is the real deal. And if he breaks your heart, we'll beat him up! Maybe!"

It was cute, almost, how unflinchingly positive the girl tried to be, even in the face of such impossible odds.

"Fine. But I'm never, ever doing this again. I don't think I'll make it through another one of these," Thrud finally agreed.

Goll cheered, and she was whisked away for pampering and prettying-up ("not that you need any extra help for that," Brunhilde always said). The date was later that afternoon, so at least it wasn't like her whole evening would be shot if things didn't work out.

She'd give it one last try, she decided, and when this inevitably went to shit, she could always get cats or something.

As she walked into Ragnarok Cafe, Thrud steeled herself for the look of wild bewilderment and horror on the face of whatever poor man was roped into this. The Cafe owner was a nice enough guy, and always made sure it was regulars only whenever the Valkyrie sisters set up a blind date. That way Thrud wouldn't worry about freaking out more people than necessary. Probably better for business that way, too. 

As she bowed slightly to get through the doors, she heard a soft gasp. Ah, the mystery man was there already indeed.

She raised her head up to find the poor sap, and spotted him quickly enough. Black and blond hair wrangled back into a messy ponytail, piercing dark eyes framed by heavy lashes, and a muscular build (at least from what she could see). This one would hurt her, he was just her type… 

She couldn't decipher the expression he was making in the slightest. It was shock, yes, but not the usual creeping dread, or sudden horror, or anything she'd seen before, pretty much ever. It threw her off-guard enough to lose her composure just for a second:

"Not expecting a monster like me, huh?" She blurted, raising an eyebrow.

She scarcely registered the sound of his chair scraping backwards before he was throwing himself at her, face right at her chest. 

She was too stunned to move, and could only watch, frankly aghast, as he looked up at her through his thick eyelashes, contently buried in her bosom. 

"I love big girls," he sighed in delight, and she realized his expression before had been… eager?

"Excuse me??" She managed to gasp, "this isn't funny."

She tried to push him off, but the man held firm, face moving to properly look up at her (though it was a bit comical how his cheeks smushed in). 

"I would never joke about this. You're exactly my type. My damn dream girl," he said earnestly.

Sue couldn't help it, she knew her face was turning the same strawberry color as her hair. She felt like a maiden or something silly. 

She had a head and shoulders above this strange man, but he made her feel… delicate, nearly. 

"You're an odd one," she managed.

"So I've been told. I'm Raiden," he added with a grin.

"Thrud."

He sighed again, ecstacy clear in his every facet.

"Thrud… I'm gonna marry you."

"Oh yeah…?"

"Mm. Mark my words. I'm never gonna let you go."

"Whatever you say, pal. But just know that I've always promised myself that I would stay with the man I love until the day I die. You really up for that commitment?" She asked, only half-kidding.

"...is it too soon to bring you home to my mom?" He fired back, and she felt her face heat up all over again.

"Probably," she stammered out. He had to be able to feel how hard her heart was hammering in her chest as she added, "at least buy me lunch first."

He grinned brightly, squeezing her tight (it was, frankly, amazing to be held like that) before pulling away. 

"Whatever you want, my angel. Or can I call you baby? Would that be too much?"

She blinked, brain firing on all cylinders.

"I'm like twice your size," she squeaked, following as he took her hand and led her to their table.

"Yeah, and? I could die a happy man if you let me call you my baby girl," he sighed with a smile, pulling out her chair.

She felt like she was about to die herself.

"I, um, yeah, sure. Whatever."

"Great. Order whatever you want, baby, and then how about a walk in the park? Maybe see some fireworks later?"

It honestly sounded like the perfect evening.

"....maybe you will marry me," she blurted, and he laughed brightly, booming, perfect.

"That's the plan."

She'd have to make Goll her maid of honor. The girl really had delivered this time. She felt herself falling hard, and had the feeling that this might just turn out okay.

She still felt butterflies as he dropped her off at her house that night. Her mind was a whirl, and she couldn't believe it was over already. She surprised herself by not wanting it to end, even. 

"I… would you like to come in for coffee?"

He raised an eyebrow, and she worried she'd overstepped, at least until he broke into a grin.

"Baby girl, if I go in there, I definitely won't be able to stop at just coffee. I don't know if you're ready for that kind of passionate night. I don't stop until morning."

Yes she felt every ounce of bravado laced in those silver words, but she also felt that he meant every bit of it, and was genuinely interested in… well.

No one had ever so much as kissed her. This was an entirely new beast indeed.

He laughed, and reached a hand up to cup her cheek.

"You're adorable when you blush, sweetheart. I'll let you go tonight. We can meet up again tomorrow, yeah?"

She nodded numbly, and her blush only deepened as he put his other hand on her face, cradling it like something precious.

"I wouldn't say no to a goodnight kiss, though I get it if that's a little too fast for you."

She shook her head, heart about to explode outside her chest and take them both out with the force of it.

His grin only widened and he pulled her down to meet her lips with his, still smiling even as he kissed her.

This was new.

This was wildly unexpected.

This was wonderful.

As he pulled away, lipstick staining his mouth, he whistled, low and sweet. He'd liked it too?

"That was incredible, baby. You have sweet dreams tonight. I definitely will. Call you tomorrow?"

She nodded again, numb and on fire all at once, the tiniest smile playing on her lips, and he leaned back to peck them once more before stepping back, waving.

He didn't leave until she was in her home, door closed behind her (a perfect gentleman to the end), and she about screamed in joy.

Maybe their second date really could be a wedding. She didn't think she could ever let him go.

"(Name) has vanished ?" Adam thought . His fatherly instinct kicked in , in a matter of seconds , he appeared infront of Brunehilde "Where is Y/n?" Adam asked in a stoic tone. -However, he was so sweet to you! He was so respectful, minding your personal space, and asked you about the food you were eating, just making small talk.

-He wasn’t looking at you like you were a freak, probably because he was so tall as well, but you did appreciate it as you slowly relaxed, talking to him about the different desserts.

-Adam couldn’t help but smile over at the two of you, seeing you and Hercules talking quietly together, glad that you managed to make a new friend and were more comfortable now.

-You knew your mother, any of your mothers, because you and Ganesha shared all three of his wives as mothers, were going to be okay with him, but your papa on the other hand…

-Let’s say you had every right to be nervous, as he had been violently against you dating anyone, threatening to throw hands with anyone who dared to look in your direction.

-You knew B/N could handle himself, being the son of Raiden, your papa’s greatest rival, but also Thrud, biggest and strongest of the Valkyries, and just like his parents, he inherited their massive height, standing just shy of seven feet tall, and completely jacked, as he loved working out and training with his parents.

-He gave your hand a squeeze and you inhaled deeply before opening the door, “I’m home papa, mamas!” several voices called out and your mother came out first, “Welcome home- oh! Hello B/N, how nice of you to visit!”

-It was not the first time B/N was meeting your mother, but it was the first time meeting your co-mothers and your father, and if he was nervous, he wasn’t showing it.

-Durga and Parvati came out and were surprised to see this towering young man but were quick to approach, greeting him warmly.

-Shiva heard all the chatter, including an unknown male’s voice and walked out, seeing you holding his hand and instantly he glared, “What’s this?”

-Kali sent him a small glare, disapproving of his tone, “This is B/N, Y/N’s boyfriend.” Instantly he had you in his arms, “NOPE! I told you no dating until after you’re married!!”

-B/N thought it was a bit funny, seeing the three wives wrestling you out of Shiva’s arms, as you all had a feeling he was going to react in such a way.

-Once you were free and safely behind the three mothers, Shiva turned to B/N, a glare in his eyes, but B/N did his best, “It’s nice to meet you, Lord Shiva. My dad speaks very highly of you!”

-Shiva’s eyes narrowed, slowly realizing that B/N looked rather familiar, “Who are your parents?”

-B/N grinned warmly, “Thrud and Raid-” instantly your father was trying, in vain, to shove him out the front door, “NOT HAPPENING!!!”

-Cue round two of your mothers fighting against Shiva while you joined them, telling him not to kick your boyfriend out of the house.

-B/N was doing his best to be respectful, trying to plead his case, but luck was on his side, “Oi Shiva, what are you doing to my boy?!”

-The situation went south as Raiden showed up, wanting to drink with Shiva, not realizing that you were introducing him to your parents.

-Shiva glared darkly, “That boy of yours claims to be dating my little princess!”

-The two men locked up, glaring at each other, trying to show each other up, having a bit of fun, something Durga was able to see, that it wasn’t a serious fight, “Your little princess has handed my boy’s ass to him multiple times! She can handle herself! They look cute together!!”

-A cloud of dust surrounded the two as they got into a brawl, having fun but arguing at the same time. Durga looked up at B/N, “Has she really beaten you?”

-You beamed brightly as he chuckled, “She has, I had made mention about wanting a challenge and she stepped up and proceeded to wipe the floor with me.”

-Kali and Parvati patted your hair, praising you before Kali spoke, patting the each of you on the back, “You two get out of here, Shiva will warm up eventually to you, B/N.” he wasn’t worried b but agreed and you too headed out, sneaking away to go on a date together.

-He grinned down at you, “Well that could have gone better.” You smiled up at him, hugging his arm to you, “He’ll get over it and get used to you. He might challenge you to a fight thought.”

-He chuckled warmly, “If he’s anything like you then, I know it will be a fun fight!”

-Laughter filled the air before discussing where to go for lunch.

-You only cuddled with certain people, usually in your cat form, as you liked being brushed or laying on someone’s chest, but in your human form, you only like to cuddle with Raiden and Thrud.

-They are very lovey-dovey with each other, completely in love and both are very comfortable with each other, when you saw them bathing together in a hot spring, you joined them, enticed by the warmth, as all you’ve known for most of your life is the coldness of the void you are.

-Thrud welcomed you warmly and even helped you by washing your hair, it was an odd sensation, but you didn’t hate it and Raiden was the one who helped you pin your hair up so you could soak more easily.

-You looked over at Thrud who smiled, and you spoke, “I saw you hugging each other for a long time earlier and you were both smiling, what were you doing?”

-Thrud wasn’t at all bothered, “We were cuddling, think of it as a long hug, would you like to try, Y/N?” you nodded and she lifted you easily into her lap and wrapped her arms around you, hugging you close.

-The feeling was soft and warm, you liked it, “This is what I do when I’m in my feline form, right?” Raiden nodded, coming over and you crawled into his lap, trying him instead, finding him just as warm, “I see, this is quite enjoyable. I see why you were doing it.”

-They nodded in agreement and Raiden grinned, “You’re welcome to join us if you want to, you’re nice to cuddle with.” He meant it in a non-sexual way and all three of you knew this, as they knew you were interested in anything like that, even if you were able to do so.

-The yukata Raiden provided you once you all got out was quite enjoyable, it was light and breathable and wasn’t at all restricting, you were quite adorable running around in it, acting like a child.

-Thrud leaned her head down to rest on top of Raiden’s and he grinned leaning back into her embrace, the two of them feeling so at peace.

The Strength of Love: Chapter 1: Hobbies

-After being in Valhalla for so long, one could only do the same thing so much before desiring something more.

-Usagi loved to fight others, it got her blood pumping, the same thing could be said for training, she enjoyed going into the seemingly endless forests in the Japanese pantheon, training near a massive waterfall, enjoying the scenery as she worked out.

-She didn’t enjoy drinking like Raiden did, as she doesn’t like the feeling of being drunk, but she did enjoy eating with him and trying new things to eat.

-But there was a longing for something different, something new and Usagi found it in the most unexpected place, making clothes!

-Being so large, two meters in height and being thicker than normal women, due to her muscles, most clothes didn’t fit her, she was normally seen in her training gi or in a large men’s yukata.

-After befriending Thrud and some of the other valkyries, Usagi found a desire to wear cute clothing like they all do in their off time.

-Thrud understood her plight completely, as most clothing stores didn’t make clothes for women their size, and if they did, they were plain, not cute at all.

-Usagi was taught by her mother how to sew when she was back on earth, and Hlokk taught Usagi how to use a sewing machine, gifting Usagi her older one when the young valkyrie got a new one and the rest was history.

-Usagi would borrow clothes from the valkyries or purchase new clothes to get the design and pattern of the stitching before using the fabric she had and recreating the clothes she had, giving herself a wardrobe full of cute, girly clothes. The new clothes she had purchased she usually gifted to the valkyries or another female friend.

-However, despite having a cute wardrobe now, Usagi never wore any of it out, only wearing it around her bedroom, admiring herself in a mirror on how cute she looked, but she could never bring herself to wear any of her clothes out and about, feeling too self-conscious.

-Usagi felt like a coward, never being able to leave the safety of her own room in the clothes she worked so hard on, she wanted to dress cutely like other women she’s seen around, but at the same time, it felt wrong, after wearing manly clothes for so long, she felt like it wouldn’t look right on her.

-Hlokk and Thrud, once they found out about Usagi’s hobby, were both quick to scold her about why she hadn’t worn anything out of her bedroom, forcing her to confess her insecurities about wearing such clothes out in public.

-Thrud was sympathetic to Usagi, one because she was the granddaughter of the man who captured her heart, but mainly because Thrud knew that fear well, as she had it many years ago.

-Thrud kept Hlokk from forcing Usagi out, knowing that would make things worse, so instead they decided to encourage her by starting off small, by doing her hair in different styles.

-It was a challenge that Usagi was willing to face, but she didn’t realize how hard it was to do her own hair aside from putting it into a ponytail or braid.

-The day Usagi came out with matching space buns was a day that many noticed she was smiling a bit more, after being so withdrawn for a while, and many other women complimented on her hair, as it was cute.

-However, the men around her didn’t seem to notice her new hairstyle, just greeting her like normal, which made her pout in defeat, she broke more rocks than normal at her training grounds, punching them with anger.

-Hlokk encouraged her to not give up and keep trying, as did Thrud, who told her that with each thing she tries, she’ll get more confident in herself.

-All Usagi could do was keep trying, keep fighting!
