Fuck the tiktok version of coquette that’s all sanitised and pristine. Coquette is messy. It’s being cute while still being a mess. It’s crunchy hair from swimming in the ocean, grass stains on your knees, scuffed up shoes from running and climbing, chipped nail polish. It’s bright colours and organised clutter, using what you already have and making it work. It’s makeup melting off your face in the hot sun, but not caring because you’re having fun. It’s not meant to be perfect and neat and clean, it’s meant to be real.

It’s about living for yourself, being yourself. Not an ‘aesthetic’ version of yourself for the internet.

I think out of all the "quirky" terms TikTok/Tumblr(? Idk who stole what from who at this point) uses, "grippy sock jail" is definitely the worst.

As annoying as shit like "unalive" and "le$bean" is, I can at least understand that they came about as a way to narrowly dodge TikTok's fucking horrendous filter system. But... you know you can just say "mental ward", right?

look idk if this is an unpopular take or not (probably not here, but it might be elsewhere, esp on tiktok) but I am so exhausted with thirty second fads. You used to be able to like something for months, years even, without the internet dropping it. Nowadays if I make an animation for a new trend I’m always behind because the time it takes for me to realise its existence and draw some silly little pictures stretches way past the shelf life of a trend nowadays, and it only takes a few days most of the time. like, it’s so tiring. Do y’all remember when Eddie Munson got super popular, and rightfully so because he’s a fun and endearing character? Well, now everyone hates him for no reason. Especially on tiktok.

I’m just so tired of it. I hate it. I’m sick of all my interests going from accepted to mocked in under a week. Tiktokers need to be lined up and smacked with fish until they learn to behave.

I got in a rut of thinking that everyone in the world were horrible disgusting people but then I got off of tiktok and found out no, that's just how tiktok is, horrible people with horrible takes being agreed with by even worse horrible people.

There's horrible people irl obviously but no where near as many as on tiktok and on other social media I've had no where near as many bad experiences.

Get off of tiktok even if it's just for a few hours or a day and you'll feel so much better I promise.
