I know it wasn't the exact same "he's an impressive guy" "he's my dad/son/etc" wording but Owen does say in 2x08 when talking to Gabriel "the only reason anyone made it through the door is because of that brave officer right there *pointing to Carlos (who is so obviously with his boyfriend lmao love him)*... he's an impressive guy."

anon you are so fucking right for this. I mean you don't need me to preach to the choir I'm sure but Carlos. [insert] . here’s some of the WIP where I gave tarlos a pet again I’m hoping to have this finished by easter

He settles the bunny in a shoebox on the end of his bunk, but it doesn’t take long for it to hop across and crawl into his lap.

“Aww, somebunny loves you; I’m sure that’ll be a great comfort when Carlos divorces you for bringing home another pet without asking,” Nancy teases as she appears in the doorway.

“You’re the worst, Nancy.”

“Okay, in that case, I guess I won’t tell you that I saw Carlos’ car out front and that you have about a minute to get your story straight about the rabbit,” She says.

“Can you distract him for a minute?” TK asks, pulling on the AFD hoodie strewn across the bunk's end and carefully stashing the bunny inside the pocket. He can already hear Carlos’ boots on the stairs.

“Too late,” Nancy smirks as she heads out the door toward the stairs. TK hears her greet Carlos as she passes him on the stairs.

from both of them going through different forms of lose, owen with his cancer and knowing that he might not live to see his boy getting married or be there for him in the future and tk going through breakup and heartache losing what he thought is love and the future he was planning and his sobriety, to owen bringing him down to texas telling him "my only priority right now is that you live" and tk later telling him "from now on I've got your back dad" and suddenly their lives shift; finding community, finding family, and finding love and their way to healing.. and everything that happened from that point to losing gwyn and then with the huntington’s disease where everything for him and tk temporarily got crushed by the potential of having it in the future and with owen knowing that he will lose the brother that just came back into his life, to this moment here; tk's happiest day, and owen seeing his son happy, healthy and starting a future with a man that is capable and decent and takes good care of him... im crying..
