He settles the bunny in a shoebox on the end of his bunk, but it doesn’t take long for it to hop across and crawl into his lap.

“Aww, somebunny loves you; I’m sure that’ll be a great comfort when Carlos divorces you for bringing home another pet without asking,” Nancy teases as she appears in the doorway.

“You’re the worst, Nancy.”

“Okay, in that case, I guess I won’t tell you that I saw Carlos’ car out front and that you have about a minute to get your story straight about the rabbit,” She says.

“Can you distract him for a minute?” TK asks, pulling on the AFD hoodie strewn across the bunk's end and carefully stashing the bunny inside the pocket. He can already hear Carlos’ boots on the stairs.

“Too late,” Nancy smirks as she heads out the door toward the stairs. TK hears her greet Carlos as she passes him on the stairs.

It’s 2am and I’m exhausted but totally worth it. Niall you put on one hell of a show I absolutely loved it. If I couldn’t hear Night Changes sung live by One Direction it was an absolute honour to hear it sung live by a member of One Direction. It makes me smile that a One Direction song sung by a One Direction member is still the song that the crowd sing the loudest on. What a fun night!

A few random Szeth headcanons that no one asked for:

He’s aroace

He has incredibly good senses of smell and taste

He has better than average color acuity

He’s not great at recognizing people just by their voices

He has a good sense of rhythm, but isn’t very great with pitch

He learns languages quickly

He’s good at memorizing lists and instructions, but isn’t as good with daily details. He couldn’t tell you when he woke up yesterday or what he had for lunch last Wednesday

He used to enjoy familial/platonic touches, but now freezes or pulls away, especially when touched unexpectedly

He’s always been some sort of massive nerd

👀 what do you think of love triangles in BLs?

I feel much the same as I do about love triangles in het dramas. If done properly, it can provide insight into all of the characters involved and further their growth. That being said, the LI who gets chosen in the end much make logical sense for the leads progress. Though there is a part of me that always goes, why not both?

A good recent example I think is from La Pluie. The Patts x Saengtai x Lomfon triangle worked for what it was trying to do. It gave us a greater understanding of all the characters and helped each in the end. It is an example of a love triangle that also has a clear “winner” right from the beginning so take of that what you will.

All that being said, love triangles are another thing on my list of “hard to pull off, easy to fuck up” so I’m always very weary of them when they come up because it’s hard to tell if it’s going to work for the story or not.

🚫 what trope do you hate and why?

Not to sound like a broken record but SINGING!!!!! When the show is actually about music and musicians (like My School President or something similar) then okay, the singing and the instruments makes sense and I am okay with it, but I genuinely really hate when the characters just randomly pick up instruments or start singing (I already have my most hated scene in OF and it’s literally Ray doing karaoke. Khaotung can sing and I love his singing, but please don’t! I can’t take it anymore!)

I saw a post floating around somewhere (that I can't seem to find again) talking about whether or not we should gatekeep people who become fans of Tolkien via the show and it basically said that the line they were drawing for gatekeeping purposes was whether new people enter the fandom saying from the start that everybody there pre-rop is a bad person. If they do that, OP is gonna gatekeep. If they don't. OP will welcome them.

But what stuck out to me was op saying something about "Speak 'friend' and enter, but try to enter with a curse on your lips and I'll barricade the door".

And that is just such a brilliant and succinct way to put it, but also it's a great way to look at the show itself.

If rop had spoken "friend" (respected the lore, as friends would do), we would have told it to enter. But it tried to enter with a curse, so we are barricading the door.

RoP and Amazon has done nothing but shit on Tolkien fans since the start, and the new “fans” on twitter with their RoP stan accounts made in February 2022 continue to do it too, so yeah, sometimes gatekeeping isn’t bad.

I want everybody who’s calling Ken a Trophy Husband to know that he’s actually a Trophy Boyfriend, because when Ruth Handler invented Ken in the 1960s, she was adamant that he would never marry her and instead be her “handsome steady”, so that Barbie remained a figure of independence for the little girls and was never put in the position of housewife.

Her house is hers. She bought it and furnished it with money she made in her own job. In STEM, in politics, in healthcare, in fashion, in academy, in customer service. Her credit card is in her name (women in the US couldn’t have their own regardless of marital status until 1974). And it’s all pink and fashionable because femininity and badassness aren’t mutually exclusive. No matter who you are, you can be anything.

That’s why Barbie’s slogan is “you can be anything”. Teaching these ideals to little girls is why Barbie was created. Empowering women and empowering femininity is the original meaning of the Barbie doll. It’s not that you have to be all this to be a woman, but if you are all or some of this, you too are awesome.

And somehow pop culture deliberately changed that narrative. Sexualised, bimbofied, and villainised her, when she actually isn’t responsible for the impossible beauty standards — people are, she’s just a stylised, not-to-scale toy like most others.

Men are frothing because he’s just Ken and I guess they were expecting her to be just Barbie, but that’s exactly what Ken is. Canonically. A badass woman’s himbo boyfriend.

This movie has the potential to radically change the way we collectively see Barbie into what Ruth Handler originally intended, I’m so very excited
