Elder Scrolls, currently just Skyrim and Oblivion, but I have some plans for a Morrowind thing too :D

Okay, I gotta ask cuz I’m curious! Do you have a least favorite TMNT character from either the 2018 or 2003 show? If so, who and why?? 😁 thank you in advance!! I can’t wait for the next part of the LOTR AU!

When I was a kid watching 2003, I didn't like Raph because of his anger issues and because I thought he was dumb and mean. In retrospect, I had exactly zero self-awareness and was probably experiencing 'he's just like me fr (derogatory)' syndrome. I think I'd have a lot more sympathy for Raph if I watched it now. Judging by a few clips I've watched recently, Casey would probably be my least favorite of the main cast now.

With the 2018 boys, asking who's my least favorite is like asking what my least favorite flavor of neapolitan ice cream is- the answer is subject to change and doesn't really matter considering how much I love them all. Of the main cast... is Draxum counted in the main cast? Anyway, yeah, I don't like him as a person and he fails to compel or interest me as a character. He's arrogant and hateful, and doesn't even have the decency to be interesting about it. Insert obligatory 'no hate to people who do like him' statement

Tale Teller’s 2020 BINGO Challenge

With the #Tale Teller’s 52 Week Challenge coming to a close, I wanted to start up a new challenge for those who are wanting to write more over the summer! I wanted something unique and fun, so I decided on doing a BINGO Challenge!

I hope I have created something fun and unique that everyone will enjoy. If you are interested or want to know more, be sure to click the “Keep Reading” line! 

What is a BINGO Challenge? 

A BINGO challenge is where you will have to write stories or fanfiction that match up with spaces on a bingo card. Below is an image of a traditional BINGO card, as an example...

Instead of having numbers on the card, each square will instead be filled with different genres or prompts for writing. For example, Fluff, Smut, Reader Insert, AU, Friendship, etc. You will have to write one story for each square on a custom BINGO card that I will give you to compete for BINGO! 

What’s more, I have decided to spice the challenge up with PRIZES for WINNERS! 

How Do You Win?! 

You can be one of the winners by being the first to get a BINGO or a BLACKOUT! 

Bingo -- Getting a BINGO means that you write a story for all the squares in a line. The line can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

Blackout -- Writing a story for EVERY SINGLE SQUARE ON THE CARD! 

This means that to have a chance to win you have to write AT LEAST 5 stories. There is no free space on my fanfic bingo cards, but there are other things that could be easier...like making a fic recommendation, making a playlist, etc.

***The TTB OC ADDITION means that you will be allowed to give me details about an original character that will make an appearance in a chapter in my ongoing story Touch The Butts: Hobbit Edition. This will be a side character that will appear in a chapter of the story. I will allow you to pick where the character will appear from the remaining paths still left to be published (As a side note...if you pick a character I haven’t written for (I’m currently on Bofur)...then I guess I will have no choice but to do that path next! Which means you would be picking the next path for TTB as well ;p ) 

***If you are one of the first to get a BINGO and then go on to be the first to get a Blackout, you do NOT get both prizes...you will get to pick which one you want. The one you didn’t choose will go to another writer. 

***This challenge will end on August 31st, 2020! If no one has claimed the prizes by then or submitted their BINGO or Blackout by then the prizes are void. This is just to ensure I’m not getting a message two years from now asking when they will get their stuff for the stories they just wrote. 

***There are only 30 BINGO Cards, so only 30 can enter! 

How to Enter the Challenge:

If you are interested in joining this challenge, you will need to send me an ASK under the username you wish to enter with. That’s it...

When I receive your submission, I will then send you an image of your PERSONAL BINGO CARD. That’s right, everyone will have a completely unique BINGO card. The content in the squares will be the same, but they will all be in a different order. This way, no two people’s experience in the challenge is different! 

Once you have your BINGO card, you are off to the races! GET TO WRITING! 

Rules of the Challenge:

To help balance the chaos, there are a few rules...Please make sure you read through these for violating one of the rules could keep you from winning a prize! 

1) No Double Dipping -- for those who don’t know what this means...let’s say you need a story that is “Fluff” and a story that is a “Ship”...you HAVE to write TWO DIFFERENT STORIES! You can’t write a story that is both a ship and fluff...nope, sorry. Each square needs its own unique story. 

2) Submitting Your BINGO Card -- When you are ready to submit your BINGO card to me, you need to put an image of your BINGO Card in a Tumblr Post (if you can mark the boxes you did that would be helpful, but if not no worries). In addition, you need to have each of your stories linked in that post (as proof of completion). If you could also please include what category it was for, that would be helpful!

3) No Changing Your Card -- I will note in my PDF who had what card and I will check to see if you use the card I gave you. So, don’t trade cards with your friends, don’t go online and make a new card. You HAVE TO USE THE ONE I GAVE YOU! 

4) TAGGING IS VITAL -- There are three things I want you to please do on EACH story you post, whether it is on Tumblr or AO3...

- Tag me in the story so I can read it! (Tumblr - @sdavid09​) or (AOD - Whaleofataleteller) - Use the Hashtag: #Tale Teller’s 2020 BINGO Challenge (Be sure to include the BINGO because I would like to do this in future years as well!)  - Be sure to include hashtags AND Warnings for sensitive content. I have some stuff I just don’t read, as do others. Please be aware of that so if you write sensitive material, please let people know. 

5) HAVE FUN -- I know there are prizes and such but I just hope this let’s people have fun and try out new stories and fic types. So please, have fun!!!

vague history of my blog from memory bc why not:

2012: started off as an unholy combination of superwholock (tho mostly the who and the lock) and marvel, with some star trek and httyd and a lot of crying about merlin and fringe towards the end due to their finales. also got rly into lotr towards the end bc of the first hobbit movie

2013: still emo about lotr, got really excited and then incredibly let down by star trek into darkness (but still in trek mode), probably similar to 2012 with more lotr and bonus depressive/anxious breakdown hsc blogging. also a bit of septimus heap due to fyre coming out. suddenly turned into a classic who blog around august and stayed that way for a couple of months

2014: still slowly making my way through classic who, also had a hamlet phase late 2013, thanks to having to do it for english class, that managed to persist past graduation and i was apart of the great hamlet winter olympics au that occurred in 2014. don't ask. usual mess of fandoms including a brief dip back into marvel hell due to catws and tasm 2. also lots of Screaming about httyd2/httyd in general. decided to rewatch/catch up on atla/lok so spent the second half of the year in atla/lok Hell™ including much crying over the lok finale. also binge watched 5 seasons of community in like 5 days (listen. i'd finished exams and had a whole dorm room to pack up so i just left it running in the bg)

2015: still not over lok and also big hero 6. watched otgw, gravity falls and steven universe and got into Cartoon Hell™ then randomly got into dragon booster and storm hawks and got stuck in Obscure Cartoon Hell™. race to the edge also started so this year was basically just a lot of blogging/crying about cartoons until,,,,,, S T A R  W A R S (which includes clone wars and rebels so,,, not much change on that front) but yeah, watched the sw movies for the first time in a decade and got into clone wars and rebels and, well, the rest is history

2016: still mostly crying about star wars, cartoons and star wars cartoons. kind of a blur bc of med withdrawal so i was trippin balls for like 2-3 months. dipped back into dragon booster hell and got into voltron when it first came out. then got into supergirl and the flash during sem 2 exam time/summer holidays, as well as young justice

2017: spent most of the summer hols watching psych and leverage as well as dctv shows. got dragged into animorphs hell and read them for the first time in over a decade but only got up to like halfway through book 16. uhhhh,,,, also kind of a blank bc Honours Hell™. embarrassing dip back into marvel hell bc of thor ragnarok and then became dirk gently trash and a tlj hate blog towards the end

2018: dirk gently and i guess im a fuckin tmnt blog now because what the hell

U, V, X?

Absolutely! Thank you for the ask, Nonnie! (Really, thank you for indulging me, haha. I wouldn’t be having quite so much fun here on tumblr if you guys didn’t enable me lmao). 

U: Okay, so I’m gonna try and do a writer from each fandom I really enjoy. For Naruto, one of my absolute favorite fic writers is Yeetingmeselfintosun. They only have one real fic on AO3, but they do such an amazing job with it. The characterizations, action scenes, metaphors, pacing - it’s all excellently done. 

I think my next choice will have to be BootsnHats over on FFNet for The Musketeers fandom. Their characterizations for Athos especially are simply inspired, and the stories are engaging in the most delightful ways. 

My final pic... Oof. That’s hard. Many of the best fic writers I’ve ever encountered have all written for the Star Wars fandom, and there’s - there’s a lot. It’s not even really fair to choose just one? (If you guys would like a more comprehensive list of my favorite authors, just send me an ask; you can even have me narrow it down to certain fandoms (Naruto, SW, Musketeers, TMNT, Voltron, LOTR, and the Hobbit are my most-read fandoms)). I think... I’ll have to go with ShaeTiann on FFNet. The sheer amount of lore included in their fics, the characterizations, the worldbuilding, the plot, the character development - *chef’s kiss*. There are few things I enjoy more than rereading their For the Right Price series. 

V: Hm, a companion piece to any out there not my own? That’s really hard. I have a tendency to be something of a fic elitist: I will only finish reading a story if I genuinely enjoy it. This also means that I will not keep it around if I don’t think it worth my time (which sounds harsh, but I think you know what I mean). 

That being said, I’ve had plenty of my own prequel and sequel ideas for the Powers ‘Verse. It’s also for BBC’s The Musketeers, but it’s also a very good AU where the main characters all have a power of some sort. You’d have to read all the entries in the series to really get what I mean, but there’s a lot of opportunity for continuations and beginnings and even AUs of the og AU there. I even have permission to write for the series if I’d like (as long as the og writer approves of the fic itself), but I haven’t actually written anything yet because, well, it’s a little daunting to write for a series I already consider perfect lol.

 X: Hah! This is easy, and I will give you five answers: Pidge (Voltron), Leo (TMNT), Dartagnan (Musketeers), Umino Iruka (Naruto), and Obi-Wan Kenobi (SW). I have started (but not finished/posted) several fics about just that for each of those characters. Fun times :)
