- you came up before him, so there wasn’t much time to get to know each other

- in the wicked headquarters, when Teresa got taken away and you didn’t, you were the one trying to calm him down and helped to search for her

- you almost had a heart attack when he barely slid under those doors

- kept nudging you forward so that you don’t fall behind when you were running away

- when Winston passed away, you grabbed his hand for support, squeezing hard, and he squeezed back, letting a few tears spill from his eyes

- you finally realized you’ve fallen for each other

- cold nights in the scorch were warmed by his huge bear hugs

- I mean, literally, he has large arms and super protective hugs

- always makes you feel wanted

- so back to business, you arrived in the Right Arm, everyone had a chance to finally relax, you and Thomas went to search for Teresa

- At some point you stop and take both his hands in yours

- “You have to stop throwing yourself in danger like this”

I could feel heavy blood running through my veins. This didn't feel like me, I felt… different. Loud thoughts clouded me like thick fog. I could feel my mind slipping away.

"Newt..?" Y/n's voice made me shiver. I had no control anymore, it took everything in me to not lunge at her. I never wanted to hurt her, I never did, but this wasn't me. I was something else, something uncontrollable.

"You're the cure. It's in your blood."

"Newt, what are you-?" I lost it.

I tackled her and her head slammed into the ground. Stop it! Stop hurting her! I knew what I was doing but I couldn't stop it. The virus took control and it knew she had the cure. It was like I was watching a horrible movie through my eyes, one where I hurt the love of my life.

She was the one good thing the creators ever sent up. I saw my fair share of slinthead greenies, but Y/n was something different. I was scared, and alone, until she came up. She was always there with me, even when I was stupid enough to try and take my own life by jumping off the Maze walls.

"newt," she tried to huff through my hands gripping her throat. That's when I realized there was a knife in my hand. I already knew what the virus was planning to do.

I fought with everything I could but I wasn't strong enough. I needed to take control, I needed to take control and get through to Y/n. It felt like I was ripping through my own mind as I pushed, and I pushed. I knew I was there, I could feel-

- "Well hello, greenie." I greeted a very timid girl, huddled in the corner of the Box. "What the fuck is a greenie?" She shot back. That received a lot of laughs and snickers from the other guys. We only had a handful of people in the glade so far, a greenie monthly and we only had about seven, now eight. "Where am I?"

"Welcome to the glade, greenie! I'm Newt, and up there is the first in command, Nick. And second in command, Alby." The two boys waved from the top as she stood on a box and looked out. "What the hell are those walls?" She asked, lifting herself out. "Why am I here? Why can't I remember anything?"

"Slow down, greenie. I know you have a lot of questions, but we only have limited answers. Your name should come back to you in a little wh-"

"Y/n."

"y/n," I whimpered out.

"It's me, Newt." She whispered, tears filling her eyes. "I'm right here." She cupped her face around my cheeks. I knew I didn't have enough time, I needed to get my point out now.

"Kill me."

"What..?"

I shoved the knife into her hands. "Kill me now!" I yelled. She flinched, the knife clutched in her shaky hands. "If you've ever loved me you'll kill me now, Y/n. You'll kill me before I turn into one of them." Tears ran down her cheeks as she sobbed. "Of course I fucking love you, Newt! I have since the glade. You're my everything.“ My tears mixed with the rain as I coughed up a heavy amount of blood. I was losing it, she needed to do it now.

"I love you so much, Y/n. That's why I need you to kill me, now. PLEASE FUCKING KILL ME."

Something snapped. The virus took over and I lost control as I jumped on her and tried to take the knife. Stumbling back on to the floor, we wrestled with the knife. The virus was trying to kill her for her blood, but I needed her to be alive. She had so much life left to live.

She screamed out in pain, the knife had gashed her in her stomach. It took everything she had to flip herself over on top, still crying out in agony. Her wound bled out everywhere as I fought for control of the knife, I kicked and screamed, grabbing the knife and her hands trying to desperately flip it around on her.

…

Suddenly the world came to a standstill. She did it, she plunged the knife into my chest. I fell back onto the ground behind me as Thomas and Minho came running over, grabbing her as she desperately kicked and punched. The last thing I heard was her screaming my name.

"I love you."

"Hey, can we talk?" I walked over to Y/n, my long time best friend. It took me a lot of courage to walk over to her, I didn't know how she was going to take this considering she's probably the most sporadic, unpredictable person I know.

But she's brave when I'm scared, she's hot-headed when I'm calm and maybe that's what I love about her. She's everything that keeps me even and she means everything to me. Today's the day I decided I'll tell her how I feel.

"Of course! Have a seat." She said, patting the ground next to her. I sat down and plopped back on the thick tree stump with a heavy exhale. "You alrighty, Newtie?“ You asked with a laugh. God, he thought you were beautiful. Everything from your laugh tho your hair, to how you yelled at the boys to keep then in line. It was like you kept the whole glade together.

"I wanted to tell you something, something I've had on my mind for a while." She turned and looked at me questioningly. "I've felt something more towards you, like there was something else I felt towards you other than friendship. I value you more than anyone in this glade but I also deeply admire you. Your beauty, how you're so eager to help out, how you always compliment Fry's mediocre cooking without fail." She let out a laugh as her cheeks flushed. "Are you trying to say you like me?"

I stumbled trying to find the right words when I suppose a yes would have done fine. She leaned in and brushed her hand across my cheek before her lips met mine. I completely froze, and she pulled away when she realized I wasn't kissing back.

"I'm so sorry, I thou-"

I wrapped my hands around the back of her neck and pulled her in for another kiss, this time deeper, more meaningful.

I lifted up my shirtsleeve to find nothing on my arm, no virus in my veins. How is this even possible?

The events of that day flooded back to me, that one line repeating over and over again.

"You're the cure. It's in your blood."

During the fight her blood entered my bloodstream, the blood that would cure me. It's because of her, the girl I begged to kill me that night was the reason I'm still standing.

"Welcome to Paradise." I looked over from the edge of the boat to see a beautiful island. Sure it wasn't much, but there was people everywhere, some laughing and dancing, some getting food, and some making a bonfire. I prayed that Y/n had made it here, if anything she deserved to be here and not me.

"Do you know if a Y/n got here?" He thought about it for a moment. "Nah man, sorry. I don't know much about the people here. But what I do know, is that you're very lucky to be here. We found you half cranked out in the middle of the city, so if it wasn't for my crew I would have left your sorry ass."

The boat docked and the first thing on my mind was to find Y/n. If there was one thing I knew, it was that I desperately needed a shower. My tour guide took me to a disinfectant room, he gave me a change and I showered, probably the best treatment I've had in a very long time.

The sun never really showed since I got here, the island in a constant gray haze. I got led around to get a feel for the island, but everything felt unfamiliar, from the island down to the people. I passed dozens of faces, each either looked at me like there was sometimes wrong with me, or glanced and moved on. I prayed to see a familiar face. I prayed to see her face.

"Newt?"

I whipped my head around.

"Y/n?" My heart dropped. The memories from that night flooded in. Her tear covered face flashed my memory as she plunged that knife into my chest. How could she ever forgive me for what I did to her that night? I took a step forward and she staggered back.

"Is it really you?" Her voice was small, tears started filling her eyes. I nodded, tears filling my own as she ran into my arms. "I can't believe it's you!" She sobbed into my chest, being careful to avoid my injury. She pulled away and looked into my eyes. "How is this even possible?" She sniffled.

"You, love. You were my cure."

What Dating The Maze Runner Boys Is Like

You met a few months into the Safe Haven

He was still processing his feelings about Teresa and you were still settling in so a romantic relationship wasn't on either of your minds

You did quickly become friends though, hanging out a lot and sometimes leaning on each other for support

Everyone could tell there were more feelings than you two were letting out but just waited to see how it would play out

You were the first to realize your feelings but weren't sure about his

Only when you pulled away to deal with yours, did he start to catch on that he wanted to be more than friends

One random night when he couldn't sleep he knocked on your hut and spilled absolutely everything the second you opened the door

You invited him inside, where you both sat on the floor drinking coffee and talking about everything

He moved in almost immediately because he was done wasting time when life was so sacred

He does hog the sheets so you had to get a second blanket, but it was totally worth it

He’s basically glued to your hip and really protective of you but in a cute way

You were a Medjack and ended up getting close to him because you helped him with his leg

You never learned what happened, and he barely said a word when you were helping so you didn't bother to ask

When eventually all he had was a limp, he ended up seeking you out one Greenie night to thank you

From there, you two became genuine friends but you still never learned or sought out what happened to his leg

He would sometimes visit you during work, just to talk and say hi

You were always more than happy to have him, which Clint and Jeff would sometimes tease you about

During one of the times he was just talking about the garden you realized that you had fallen for him

Not wanting to waste any time, you asked if he’d like to hang out the next Greenie night with just you, as a date

He went silent out of surprise but also because it made him realize that he took had fallen for you

The date went so well you two would get together every other Greenie night

Your relationship was a mix of hurt/comfort and strangers to friends to lovers

You two met on the night of the storm because you're kind of like Brenda’s adopted sibling

You watched him get struck by lightning and offered to see if there was any damage, which he declined heavily

You were iffy about his attitude, and he was iffy about some random stranger trying to help him

You sort of just watched the drama of him getting strung upside-down down but didn't pick sides

He was growing resentful towards everyone there, including you

When you ended up being one of his only hopes for Thomas though, he settled on being civil

The problem was that he found it hard to just be civil when he actually got to know you

When he got taken by WCKD, you ended up being dragged along too, just to be another variable

You couldn't directly talk, but you exchanged notes through doors daily, which became his reason to hang on

When he freed himself his first thought was getting you out with him

When you got to the Safe Haven you both took it slow despite the feelings being obvious because of everything you had been through but you got there nevertheless

You two didn't get along very well in the Glade for reasons you couldn't quite figure out

This left you definitely confused when you saw him “die” because you felt a heartache like like other

You had to be dragged away from his side

The Gladers were kind of confused by your reaction but didn't press it since you were obviously distressed

You tried to figure that out during any second you had that was free but just couldn't put your finger on why it affected you

He didn't remember that so he just did his best to forget about you and everyone when he was picked up by Right Arm

When you found out he was alive in the city, you just froze in disbelief

He took that as anger so after Thomas punched him also looked at you

Instead of doing anything like that you just ran up and hugged him while blurting out that you love him, which caught everyone off guard

That’s when he realized why you had been stuck on his mind but since he was too shocked to speak he just kissed you

It was very up and down, but it was worth it in the end

You met in WCKD, when you sat with him to get a break from the people in your Maze

Neither of you really talked, you because you were tired and him because he didn't know what to say

You ended up talking when he ran into you also trying to escape that place and helped you

You two were in the same boat of not knowing where you friends are so you sort of bonded over that in the Scorch

You ended up becoming really close unofficial friends which made him getting taken by WCKD really painful

During the time you were apart you both ended up realizing your true feelings for one another

When you rescued him, you both kind of didn't know how to say it

Harriet and Sonya realized though and gave him a gentle nudge

He pulled you away from everyone on the bonfire night and told you how he really feels by the ocean

You didn't know what to say so you did the next best thing and kissed him

It was a really painful slow burn with a pretty happy ending

TMR characters + fighting styles!!!

(This is my opinion and you don’t have to agree with me but this is how I think they fight + weapons they prefer)

Thomas: he doesn’t love hand to hand but he’s decent at it, including knives and such but hand this man a gun/cross bow? YOUR FUCKEDDD 💀🫡 he relies on his body weight and is much more defence than offence, he throws everything he has in his first few punches just to get it over with and finishes/ends fights quickly.

Gally: he’s the reason I made this post, but he LOVES hand to hand with every fiber of his being, since he is a solider is is very skilled with guns, knives and whatever but when he’s fighting with his fists it’s way more natural since he has way more experience with it. He’s MASSIVE in defence but if he’s down he will 100% use your own attacks against you.

Minho: he LOVES long distance weapons, not guns or anything fancy. You hand him a couple spears or throwing knives and he’s ECSTATIC, his aim almost exact every time. If he is fighting with his fists he relies on his speed heavily, he’ll dodge you and before you even realise you missed he’s got you on the ground 😭

Teresa: absolutely hates hand to hand. Avoids it whenever possible, if she’s forced she’s offence not defence and will use your own body weight against you if she can, hand her a pistol? NIGHT NIGHT BYEEEE, big on offence and thinks about every move she makes before doing anything. Will use anything around her/any weakness her opponent has to her advantage

Brenda: if her and Teresa got in a gun fight Brenda would absolutely wipe the floor with her no doubt, any gun is like an extension of her arm 💀 if forced to use other weapons she prefers smaller things like knives, hates spears and stuff like that. In hand to hand she can PACK A PUNCH. She will literally knock you out before you know what hit you

Newt: he doesn’t look strong but HOLY FUCK. Hes all lean muscle and 100% uses that to his advantage to surprise people. (I forget the quote exactly but I’m pretty sure Thomas said Newt could probably break his arm) in hand to hand he focus’s on over powering first before doing any proper damage, as for weapons anything long is good. Stick? Shovel? Machete? All work. (Especially a machete 😭)

Aris: he doesn’t have that much body weight on him but don’t underestimate him 💀 he’s smart and calculated and knows the next persons move before they do, he focus’s on the element of surprise and stealth above everything. He’s also SUPER FAST, dodges like no tomorrow. Big on offence and usually lets whoever he’s fighting tire themselves out before getting sneaky to get them done and finish them off (he was super fun to do lol)

Because this got me out of my writing slump last time, let's try it again!

Rules are simple: vote for your favourite fic idea you'd like to see sooner than others. These fics will start posting after my current queue is out in a few weeks, and fics will come out in order to most to least votes. These all WILL come out, but the order is to be voted by you.

I have tried to pick different characters from different fandoms, none from SaB this time because of the GV week that just passed.

NOTE: These will start posting on 2nd of May as I've already planned my queue through April!! In other words, these will NOT start to publish right after the voting ends!

This time, I tried to choose requests/characters that won't hog all the votes (meaning characters I'm "known" for) while being the kind I'd imagine get even SOME votes, which is why I didn't choose any of Freddy's rarer characters for this, I'm planning to write one of those on my own + one that would have been a vote sucker before these start to publish though.

Also I have a very narrow scope for women in my older requests, I would have wanted to put more requests for woman characters in there but I just didn't have enough if we look at the requests that came before 2024. Same for platonic requests. I managed to stuff in only one of each.
