Would anyone hate the Writer if they find out that not only Werspinna is a pun on Werwolf (with Wer beeing the oldhighgerman word for HUman / man and therefor Werwolf meaning Manwolf/manhuman for a lack of a general term for woman . Yet after all Wolfs name is obviously Wolf so not only is her fake name a pun on her own name, but a pun on her beeing a human-spider Hybrid and literally a “Werspider”=“Humanspider”), but that there is another pun hidden in Wolfs design? Beside the fact that Wolf beeing a Medicus who uses herbs for healing beeing a reference to how the medieval mythos of a werewolf needs either a salve of wolfsbane and animalfat to transform into a wolf or needs to throw over a wolfpelt or needs the salve as much as the wolfpelt to transform.

Yet also another pun is that Wolf specifically wears a Helmet with a Grimme. A Grimme is the faceprotection visible covering the nose but also the area under the eyes so the person wearing the helmet wear a mask. Which is also where the word came from Grimme- Grimmaske-Grimasse turned not only into the english Grimace but also into the english grimly or the german equivalent grimmig. Grima as a related term for Helmet/ Mask / Face is also a word coming from Grimme. So looking through the Grimme, means looking at someone grimly. And looking at someone grimly, means one is already wearing a helmet and therefor ready for Battle which means if you read in a old text about someone looking grimly, its very much describing someone who is already drawing a weapon and fighting. But also the fairytale name for the Wolf is Isegrim from (Isen- Eisen- Iron) and Grim (grimmig- grimly). So Wolf wearing a IRON (steel) Helmet through whichs Grimme she is looking GRIMLY is a literal pun on the fable-name of the Wolf.  So as long as she is wearing the helmet she is the wolf wrapped in iron / a wolf with a iron face (as in grey like wolfsfur but also grey as a helmets mask) and therefor a Iesegrim.

And than again naming a character who had suffered from the effects of a crusade Wolf (and with that putting her in as Isegrim) is a reference to the  at the same time as the character lives written Mock Epic “Ysengrimus” by the poet  Nivardus in which the Wolf is put in as a standin for monks and used for criticing the corrupt monks of the Roman Church (Not catholic yet because Martin Luther had not done his thing yet and there had been not the Farmers-uprising nor 30 years of people brutally killing eachother following yet). And Wolf beeing sold into slavery by a Templar (and therefor monk) who had fallen of his own religions virtues, is just one small part of that corruption that Wolf among other things faces in her time as Spiderman.

pretty immediately, the thing that stands out about every post about the end of the ep that places the armies and warriors of Vasselheim as victims is the subtle obfuscation of that militarized status. there were armies, intending to lock Imogen and the Hells away for the crime of saving them. and people are comparing them to Buddhist monks. violence and threat in the hands of outsiders is horrifying, but violence to maintain the preexisting power structures is so normalized as to be forgotten.

i need next episode to after Dorian and Orym wakeup together, Orym goes workout with Beau and have competitions, so the whole time is just Orym and Beau showing off to Dorian and Yasha, like doing push ups with them in their back or sm, doing upsidedown pullups
