Your place or mine? ;)
He stares at the text.
The right answer is mine. See you at the lair.
“Y’all are dating now?” Clint peeks over his shoulder.
“Fuck no,” Bucky says indignantly. “God forbid.”
“Okay, man,” he retracts, giving Bucky space to turn around and face him. “What do you want to call your mini dates then?”
“Missions,” Bucky corrects him.
“No one wants to go on a mission. You volunteered to go back there.”
“It’s for the good of the tristate area.”
“I bet.” The snort he lets out contradicts his words. “Whole world is depending on you, Barnes. Go save them from the treachery of your crush.”
“Enemy.”
“Girlfriend.”
“Mortal nemesis.” Bucky narrows his eyes at him. “Go further, I dare you.”
“What are you gonna do? Choke me? Punch me with your metal arm?” Clint cranes his neck. “Bring it, big boy. I’m not scared of some kinky shit.”
He hates living here.
The door is left open for him.
This time, even though the lair is still illuminated by the green light out in the front, there’s a minor change. Sunlight streams in through a skylight in the roof.
There’s a ladder there, leaning against the rim. It gives him an entrance to the roof, which, judging by the lack of any other presence in the lab, is where he’s supposed to go.
As he gets closer he notices there’s a note on one of the rungs.
‘Evil’ with an arrow pointing upwards.
He rolls his eyes, discarding it on the floor before swiftly scaling the steps.
“Ah, Mr. Barnes,” he hears your voice call out even before his head pops up above the surface. “We’ve been expecting you.”
He pauses, looking around. “Who’s with you?”
Because other than the gigantic machine pointed up towards the sky, there’s only you with a visor and sunglasses. The  best way he can describe its design was that it was shaped like a pine cone, had a large antenna pointed towards the sky, two handlebars near its base to manoeuvre it with a large button in between them.
“Just imagine I have my henchmen with me,” you urge. “I’m on a budget, man, I can’t afford them yet. Maybe when my cloning machine finally works-”
He doesn’t answer.
“It’s a James Bond reference,” you add when he doesn’t show any signs of answering.
“Haven’t watched it yet.” Bucky shrugs. “We’re doing Star Trek right now.”
“You’re done with Star Wars?” you, receiving a nod in confirmation. “Nice. You’d find the spy shit ridiculous anyway, it’s way below your level.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” He makes a mental note to add the Bond movies to the list.
“Speaking of stars,” you begin, gesturing to the machine. “I’m going to harness the power of the sun.”
“For what?” He doesn’t bother asking how, he already knows you’ve figured out something.
“There’s a science exhibition and my team’s stupid solar car experiment isn’t working and I need it for them to win.”
“So build a better one.”
“No, ours is the best and if Jeff and his stupid baking soda volcano beat us then we’re going to have a murder on our hands.”
“Your hands,” he emphasises. He has nothing to do with this.
“I said what I said, boy.” You glare at him. “This is our problem now.”
“How much power are you taking?” If it’s insignificant enough, it wouldn’t matter much. He thinks.
“The whole thing.”
He laughs. He stops when you don’t.
“You’re taking all the energy of the sun to power your shitty science model.”
“Your face is a shitty science model,” you mimic him in a higher pitched voice. “I will do anything to win.”
He wonders which grade kid you stole that insult from was in. There’s no way they were anything older than 13. He could use it on Steve, maybe.
“Everyone on Earth will die.” He feels the need to remind you, even though there was no way it was actually going to take place. Eat shit, Clint. This superseded the tristate area.
“Not for eight minutes.” You look at your watch. “And, if Jeff dies then I win by default.”
“You’ll die too,” he points out.
“I’ll die a winner.” You nod seriously as if that makes it better.
He’s not that worried. Experience tells him that you’re not a mass murderer willingly.
“You’ll die an idiot.”
“Only if you don’t stop me.” Your lips curve into a smile. “And how will you when I do this?”
You yank the machine to point towards him and slam the button. His hand reflectively pulls in front of him to defend himself. Something hits him with enough force to send him skidding backwards slightly.
He removes his hand carefully from in front of him, looking at you.
Something feels off.
“You just-”
The knives strapped to his thighs suddenly feel heavier.
“Took your powers?” you finish his thought. “Yeah.”
He feels his body tip towards his left. He’s suddenly very aware of the weight of the arm. Had it been this heavy all this while?
“You’ve barely changed,” you noted, “You’re just regular Bucky but like, 20% less beef.”
After all, he was a boxer when he was a teen. One of the best men the Howling Commandos had even before the serum.
His shoulder feels heavier though. And somehow he thinks he’s sensing things a little less. He can’t really hear the faint buzzing of the generator downstairs anymore.
“Yep, that’s real muscle.” He turns when you poke at his shoulder. He doesn’t know when you got there. “You’re like a modern day Schwarzenegger. Grade A beefcake.”
He can’t see the construction site near the horizon as clearly as he used to.
Something about this situation makes him feel like he’s going to have a midlife crisis, even though he’s overshot the age by a huge number. No one has a midlife crisis at 106.
“Now that we’ve established that this works,” you say, back near the machine again. When did you walk there? “Let’s show this bitch that I’m the brightest star allowed in this solar system.”
He shakes his head to jolt himself awake, shoves aside his mental dysfunction and breaks out into a sprint when you pull the device down to aim it at the sky.
He latches onto the side, using his left hand to pull himself up, straddling the machine.
“Excuse me,” you exclaim like it’s a minor inconvenience and he feels the machine sway wildly under him. “You’re weighing it down, get off my inator.”
You’re shooting recklessly, trying to shake him off. It’s not dissimilar to the mechanical bull Natasha made him ride during a mission down south so she could win money off placing bets on him. They had lobster that night.
He reaches down to its side, hoping to feel maybe a panel he can rip off. He finds nothing.
He hopes none of the rays are actually hitting anything. It’s a little harder to stay on than he’d imagined it would be, and he thinks that maybe this wasn’t the best plan.
He changes his mind in a split second, swinging himself over so that he can climb the underside of the machine like a monkey bar. He feels like a fucking insect. How was Peter not mortally embarrassed?
He factors in the fact that his hands are getting clammier and his grip is slipping faster than usual. Also, he can taste his lunch at the back of his throat.
“Motherfucker,” Bucky curses when his hand slips, leaving him to hold on only by his metal arm.
“You okay?” you call out, not giving him a second to recover unless he really needed it.
He lets out a grunt, swinging his arm up and catching hold of the antenna, yanking it down and towards the machine itself. He pulls himself up so that he’s straddling the machine again.
One more shot and-
“Very smart, Barnes,” you say dryly, letting go of the handles.
He sends you a sly grin before sliding down the barrel, kicking the large button with his heel right before he jumps off.
The beam shoots out, instantly meeting with metal. The device automatically gives a mechanical groan before powering down, turning off altogether.
“I hate you,” you huff, before noting his paleness. “D’you want some water? An IV maybe?”
He dismisses it with a wave of his hand, inhaling heavily to catch his breath.
He’s tired, more so than he would have been under any normal circumstance. He feels a little dizzy, a little disoriented.
“Don’t worry, your magic powers will be back in a few minutes or so.” You examine the bent antenna, pressing the button and sighing when it stands there lifelessly. “Once Jeff wins, I’ll send the dry cleaning receipt to you. You can pay to get the tear stains out of the kids’ outfits.”
“Your tears or theirs?” He’s relieved about the powers returning, he thinks.
“Both, bitch.” Your eyebrow quirks at his retort. Clearly, he had more energy in him than people realised; his brain seemed to be working fine. He was stronger than you thought. Good for him.
“You’re smart. You’ll figure something out.” He lets out a final exhale before standing up a little straighter.
“Thanks. It’d be better if you asked your billionaire tech genius to send us something, but okay.”
“It’s a middle school science exhibition. Make a potato battery or something.”
You tsk-tsk. “No points for creativity, Mr. Barnes.”
It creeps into his mind without warning. He wonders if he actually wanted the powers back. Wonders what his life could be if he maybe retired, settled down. For the brief time he feels like his pre-war self, he starts to think like his pre-war self.
“I’m not the one who’s about to lose to a baking soda volcano,” he finds time to respond, however.
“Your face is a baking soda volcano.” You narrow your eyes at him. “I will not lose.”
“You’re running out of time. Chop chop.”
But the thought hits him. Who is Bucky without his super soldier serum? If he doesn’t have his powers then he can’t think of what use he is to the Avengers.
Who the hell is Bucky if he can’t provide a service to others? How else does he make up for being himself?
His, what he’s now deemed, afterlife crisis is starting to look more apparent.
He compartmentalises and stores it away in a box. He’ll bring it up with his therapist later.
“I’m going to win and then you’ll be sorry you weren’t a part of it because you didn’t let me steal the sun.”
“If you win, I’ll still be glad I didn’t let you.” He climbs back down the ladder, feeling the ache in his muscles reduce with every passing minute.
True to your word, his powers do return a while later.
And while he’s watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with Peter in the living room two days later, his phone beeps with a text.
It’s a picture of a blue first place ribbon next to a toy car that looks like it’s powered by a potato battery. Beside it is an out of focus middle finger that is aimed at him.
Congratulations, he texts back. Told you potato batteries always win.
Your face always wins, he receives in return. He can’t tell if you’re insulting or flirting with him.
He just shuts his phone off and goes back to watching the show.

2/3 Eren Yeager (Smut Warning!)
(๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
That's why I fucked yo' bitch, you fat motherfucka!
The screenshot sound was pretty loud as your back went up and down like a roach sprayed with raid. The male on the other side of the phone laughing his ass off. Well, he wasn't the only one.. but he's the one who took the screenshot.
"Delete that shit, don't put it on Instagram Connie!" Your pretty face was immediately in the camera's view. Your eyes a little wide at the fact that you were caught off guard. But at the same time, you let yourself go in front of the group. That's your wrong doing. But it made them smile nonetheless.
The people who were on the call at the moment were Connie, Jean, and Sasha. The rest were either too bothered to be in such a crackhead group, or they were busy.. probably the first one. Anyways, everyone in first period happened to be your friend, they were all different but they adored you nonetheless... even Annie... she just hides hers pretty well. Anyways, It's almost the end of senior year already and the bond is hard to break..
"That's my favorite song, you can't be catchin a hoe off guard.." you scolded the bald male who still happened to be laughing. His controller in his hand since he was playing nba2k. Jean was also playing but at the moment he was trying to figure out what you were doing.. and he's mad he didn't see..
"What did she do now?!"
"She was throwing her back out of place!" Sasha muffled out as she was stuffing her cheeks with a Hershey chocolate bar. She was also watching Hell's Kitchen on her tv, you could hear it.
"Daddy Jean aint need to hear all that.." you playfully spoke as you bit your lip at him. It was obvious he liked you, not to the point where he wanted a relationship though.. he's just a bit of a man whore.
Though everytime you mumble a 'Daddy Jean' , he's all for it. That's yo bitch.
After a bit of a pause of talking, Connie had picked up his phone and you were now cleaning the table that was in your room. The last time you were in this room, you didn't even have time to clean... Your father was screaming for you to hurry.
Let's explain, this weekend, you are visiting Hange, your mother . She missed you so she invited you to stay for a few days. Today is Friday so you have the whole weekend with her. She had planned Saturday and Sunday. Not to mention, Monday is a holiday so no school.
"Hey guys... uh Armin and Eren having a party.. y'all comin?"
All while Sasha said yes, along with Jean.. you were still jamming to 2-pac spitting his shit. Your hand movements not going unseen by the three on your phone. So in result of not having a response from you, Connie screamed oh so suddenly which caused you to jump pretty high.
"What the Fuck is yo problem!? You bein held by gunpoint nigga?" Your voice showing 1% concern as you moved closer to the phone on your dresser and you stared into it.. quite surprised still.
"(Y/n)... you makin my hair fall out..." Connie spoke as he gave a sarcastic smile and... wow it was hard for everyone to suppress their laughter... your face would turn purple instead of red though..
"Ight~... watchu want?..."
"Eren-"
"Oooh, Eren.." you spoke in interest, your long eyelashes fluttering. This however made Jean and Connie 'throw up' at the same time. All while you rolled your (e/c) eyes.
"Yall do too much-.. and Jean, stay in yo game ight?.. befo I come through the screen and punch-"
"Eren havin a party.. are you going..?"
Tilting your head in slight disbelief that Connie interrupted you. Your eyes rolled as you looked to the side. Obviously leading them on, but at the same time they knew that Hange will let you go...
"Fine. But somebody pickin me up.. and Sasha cuz boo-boo can't drive worth a dime.."
(๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
As much as you hated it, you sat uncomfortably in the dodge... Ugh... It's just something about you and dodge's. The cars radiate fuck boy energy, and guess who happened to be driving this car? Jean..
Though he let you sit in the passenger seat just because. Your eyes staring out the window as you messed with the stockings you had on. They were in a bit of a web, that was the design. You also had on a plaid skirt and this crop top with some white platforms. Oh you looked scrumptious.
The person who put this outfit together in the first place was Hange.
"Baby Jean, you need a new car... cuz-"
"It radiates Fuck boy energy.. you said it the first time you ever saw it... I know.." Jean pouted as he continued to drive to Eren's house. Who was shared with Armin. The two always lived together, some speculated that they were... sparkle sparkle.. gay.. but they aren't.. not that you would've minded.. it just would've been a bummer.
"(Y/n)... Didn't Your father take your car away...?"
Glaring back at Connie, who was wearing a white shirt with black pants and some timbs. You rolled your eyes and looked through your window again.
"Yeah but my car is a Mitsubishi.."
The neighborhood around these parts were quite pretty. Just like where you lived with your dad. But at the same time you were confused as to how Eren and Armin could afford such a place. The first thing popping in your mind being. Drug dealer and then you thought about what Sukihana said about dating them...
That's probably why Levi didn't want you around him... Yeah.. This whole senior year has been Levi making sure Eren doesn't sit beside you... nor have a project with you... It's like he barely existed at first. Though you always had these ways to talk to him. He's not even that bad.. he's quite the hottie and he knows what to say... he's just a flirt, and you edge him on every time...
"(Y/n)! Can you come with me to find the food?"
Snapping out of those thoughts of Eren, you didn't even realize Jean had already parked. A small 'mhm' coming from your throat as you opened the car door. Everyone else doing the same. Lord it was a bunch of people out here. People were outside and inside which was baffling honestly.
A soft hand touched your wrist and started to drag you towards the house door. It was Sasha, her mouth almost watering for something to eat. She told Eren to make sure there was extra cheese in the fridge for her. Hidden... and lo and behold when you both shimmied through the crowd, the cheese was in the fridge. Her eyes beaming as she grabbed some chips as started eating like it was her last meal, nothing out of the ordinary.
"This music actually hits..." you spoke out to nobody in particular as your hips started to move ever so gently. Though as nice as your body was, it looked more seductive than anything. Popping one of those chips into your mouth as your hips continued to wine ever so gently.
The looks you were getting, not only lustful but want... The way your long dreads just complimented your look had only made it worse. The second you decide to stop, it seemed like everyone stopped looking at you. In slight despair that you'd stopped. Though one individual in particular was continuing to stare...
His hand, wrapped around the cup as he'd sipped at the liquid inside. The black ring on his middle finger caused his hand to look hotter than it already was. He had these prominent veins that would just look so pretty on your brown skin...
"She likes you too..." the blonde that was a tad bit shorter spoke to his childhood friend, Eren.
"What makes you say that..." lord, somehow over all this music, and his low tone... you could still feel the vibration of Eren's voice. Just glancing from the kitchen as Eren was sitting on the couch in the living room. Leaning back like he owned the place... well he did.
Fine ass..
Giving him a bit of a stare, your glossy lips curved into a smirk as you glanced at him up and down. All before turning your attention back to your friend who was having the time of her life eating...
"So Sash.. what's up with you and Connie...? Yall gon date.. or-"
"(Y/n)!"
"My bad.. my bad.. I just wanted to know"
The party was a bit lively, more than anything since this is a longer weekend. So everyone was happy.. including you because they were playing your favs. So of course your body started to move again. That skirt of yours being a paid actress in helping you look more hot. Though, what you did not expect was someone coming up behind you...
Now that's nasty..
You whipped your head around about to give them an earful... though... you saw that smexy... face and you looked kinda shocked...
"Oh..." you choked out before turning your head again.. Eren's evil little smirk had caught you off guard. It boosted his confidence even more that you didn't feel the need to even move away from him. His hands slithering onto your full hips.
Man, he was really risking everything this time... considering your father is.. Levi...
This however was thrown out of the window because of the fact that you could feel Eren's... crotch against that thick form of yours. That little smirk on your face only widening as you started to gently rub against him, your back bending over somewhat.
His long brown hair then started to ever so gently fall in front of his face as his greenish eyes stared hard into your body. That harsh little grip on your waist made you feel all different types of high. Gawd.
"You like that huh...? I know.." your cute, but seductive voice made Eren chuckle just a tad. It causing you to almost choke on those words.. This man didn't need to TRY to be hot... he was already smexy.
His hands then started to travel up your body to your arms and he gently pulled you up towards him, your back against his scrumptious chest. All you could do was open your mouth a bit, quite surprised that he wanted to be this close with you.
"Eren... You a lil close... you needa tell me sum?"
The way you spoke, the way you carried yourself... it was new to Eren when he first met you.. but he got used to it real quick and he noticed he wanted something he never knew existed.. and that was you.
"Can't tell you here... but I can tell you in the bedroom..." Eren purred out, his voice smooth as a babies skin, smooth as butter. It caused you to tingle, the female between your legs wanting that more than anything.
Biting your glossy lips, the room started to become hotter than it already was. The people who were in the house started to pile out of the main and started to go outside. It was quite cold outside as well, but the party continues.
"Where the hell is (Y/n)..." Jean spoke to himself as he watched Connie and Sasha become drunks in two seconds. It was obvious he himself could not drink since he is the driving parent tonight.. but he now had nothing to do... he's just wondering where... you are..
(๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
"S-..Shit Eren~..."
The (f/c) nails you had were now digging into Eren's muscular arms as his lips caressed your neck. The seductive kisses making dark marks on your brown, beautiful skin.
Your head being thrown back onto the soft black pillow as your pretty toes curled. Feeling Eren's slender fingers inside of your pussy. His intimidating green eyes watching your every expression, every move. Seeing that your crop top was already rolled up over your pretty chocolate mound breasts that were covered with your bra.
"E-Eren, s-stahp..." choking that out, you could hear the loud rip of your stockings when Eren moved his hand out of them. The wetness of your brown pussy lips being known pretty well when Eren's fingers slid your panties to the side.
"You don't want me to stop... huh...?"
"N-No.."
The electricity shocked through you when you watched Eren stare down into your eyes. Lust and want, all in them as his key necklace dangled in front of your face ever so gently.
His shirt immediately being discarded as he watched your pussy pulse from his fingers being pulled away from it. It was amazing to him how much you wanted him.. it was amazing... it ran something through him...
All you could see was his muscular frame, his hands to match as he easily tore through your bra. Watching the way your breasts fumbled out of the cups. He never seen a black woman's breasts before.. but it couldn't get any better than this though.. is what he thought.
"Daddy~... don't stare at em..." you pouted playfully before licking your glossy lips. Just running your fingers up Eren's arms as you eventually made your way up to his luscious hair. Running your fingers through the locks. Pulling him down ever so gently to finally get that kiss you wanted.
Eren's eyes glowed when he felt your soft lips, the lip gloss giving him this taste of lovely. His lips tasted of some sugar, kinda made you wonder what was in his cup before this.
The wetness of Eren's tongue touching yours as the both of you withered in this naughty, sloppy kiss. Something you both weren't supposed to do.... It was fun, crazy... scary..
"You act all bad outside of the bedroom huh... but you ain't ever have someone touch you..." Eren teased gently, in a whisper against your lips. His hand gripping your chin as he stared at your innocent looking face. Gently spitting all nastily into your mouth and you moaned out seductively. Swallowing it so easily..
"Show daddy you'll be able to take it..."
Eren's cock was so hard in his pants, it being unzipped by him and his underwear was now restricting his release. His eyes staring at your pretty pussy, the wet, pink insides were bright and untouched. Though his pale cock was eager to invade it.
"I-.. I can take it daddy..." your whimpers echoed In Eren's ears as he pushed his underwear down. Your knees being pushed to your chest as you felt Eren's stare. The plaid skirt you had was still on, so you tried to cover your pretty pussy with it.
"Stop... don't hide now.." Eren scoffed out as he gripped under your thighs, the underside of his cock rubbing up and down your wet and gooey pussy.
"Hold your legs... don't move.."
It was so demanding, your pussy clenching already as the wetness dripped down to your other hole. Your pretty, long nails visible to Eren as you held your legs as tightly as you could. Knowing Eren's cock was a monster. You could see it... right between your legs.. right between your brown pussy lips.. the contrast was unbelievable..
"F-Fuck!! Eren~~ ow~" the way your painted toes curled gave Eren a shiver of excitement. Your back arching ever so slightly as your virgin hole was taken away from you. Squeezing tightly around Eren's experienced cock.
"Shh.. it's Ight.. take it babydoll.." Eren's whisper was gentle and sincere as his thumb started to gently rub at your clit. Causing you to swallow your spit, though it spilled out. What also spilled out is your loud whimper. Your legs staying wide open for him as your hand slowly slid up his muscular structure.
"It's .. i-it's so big..."
Hearing these whimpers and words spill from your throat, Eren couldn't help but take his hand and wrap it around your throat. Causing your breath to be taken away oh so suddenly when Eren snapped his hips forward even more.
"Fuck!" Your moan could probably be heard outside as your breasts bounced from the impact. Eren's smirk wide as he felt the tightness of your insides. His necklace going back and forth ever so gently as his pelvis started to clap against you. The feeling was so foreign to you, having someone ram into you like this. But it was Eren... it wasn't just 'someone'..
Your (f/s) scent was powering against Eren's own scent. The feeling of Eren's cock was starting to really take a toll on you..
"A-Ahgh..."
Eren's cock was being enclosed so tightly, you just wet up his Dick so well.. he was starting to become obsessed.. more than he already was.
"Daddy's. little. pussy..." his deep voice echoed in your ears as he started to get a bit faster. Your breasts bouncing even more as Eren made sure that skirt was moved out the way. He wanted to make sure to see everything. His hand squeezing harder at your throat. It was keeping you firm against the bed, like a little fuck doll...
"I-it's your pussy Eren~"
Curling those pretty toes again, you could feel the bubbles in your lower region. The craziest orgasm you've ever experienced... just tip toeing to the tippy top. All you could muster was a pathetic whine. Your eyes watering up behind your long eyelashes.
"I'm-.. I'm cumming..." Your voice was so weak, it sounded like you were passing out almost. Just rolling your eyes back as the bed frame started to hit the wall. Your pussy gushing more than usual as the white cum started to coat Eren's cock a little.
"Shit... yeah~..." Eren growled under his breath, watching you come undone on his pale cock. Your thicker form was just so adorable, looking all bent up. Your locs scattered around ever so softly.
It was like he was fucking a goddess...
Eren was between harsh and soft, his manhandling ways were shown easily by the way he pulled out quickly and turned you over. Your plump ass shaking like jello as his cock easily slipped inside once again.. filling you up for the second time. God you just couldn't wait till you could feel his cum...
"Imma Fuck you till you turn dumb..." Eren spoke harshly as his long fingers gripped at some of your locs. Pulling them and wrapping them around his wrist somewhat. Gaining all control over you and your own body...
He wasn't playing either...

“I can’t believe I didn’t get to sleep in,” you mumbled, throwing your purse down on your desk rather roughly.
“Not like you would’ve anyways. Ariel was meowing for you five minutes before we got called in,” Spencer stated.
“So? I would’ve fallen back asleep after,” you shrugged. “You would’ve stayed up all morning playing with her, babe,” Spencer chuckled.
You rolled your eyes. “You don’t know that.”
“I do! You’ve done it every morning since we got her,” Spencer argued.
You scoffed, shaking your head at your boyfriend. You trudged over to the coffee machine, getting out a mug the size of a bowl and filling it to the brim. It was already your third cup of the day, and while it was probably unhealthy drinking that much coffee, you needed it. It was your first week on the job and you still weren’t used to waking up at five in the morning for a surprise case. This was your second case, though, so you weren’t very surprised that you were still tired. You knew you would get used to it as time went on, but you wished that your body and mind would adapt faster.
“You’re coming on the field today.” Emily nudged your arm with a file.
Your eyes widened and you sputtered out coffee, coughing to try and clear your throat. Emily chuckled, patting your back gently to help you. You set your coffee down, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand once you got control of your breathing.
“W-What?” You asked, the words Emily said not processing in your brain.
“I said you’re coming onto the field today,” she repeated.
“B-But…” your trailed off, trying to find a reasonable explanation. “I-I wasn't supposed to be on the field for another week. I’m still technically in training.”
“Well, part of the training is going on the field. You’re an amazing agent in the office, L/n, but you'd be even better on the field. You’re able to sympathise with the unsubs and solve the puzzles faster than most of us can, sometimes faster than your boyfriend. You’ll help us a lot better out there than in here.”
You chuckled nervously, heat crawling up the back of your neck. “Thanks, Emily, but I’m not ready.”
Emily rolled her eyes. “That’s what all the new agents say. You need to just get out there, and there’s no better time to do that then early in the game.”
“I guess,” you muttered, lifting your coffee cup and taking a sip.
“You’ll be fine, Y/n. I have no doubts,” Emily smiled.
“Thanks.” You have her a small smile. “No problem. And hey, don’t tell Spencer I said you’re better at the job than him,” she winked.
You laughed and nodded, “I won’t, I promise.”
She walked away, leaving you to lean against the counter and to drink the rest of your coffee before going to the briefing room.
“So, I heard that Newbie is finally coming along with us today!” Luke exclaimed.
“Newbie is your nickname, Newbie,” Penelope narrowed her eyes at Luke. Luke rolled his eyes, “Yeah, yeah. Anyways, you excited?”
You sat down in one of the chairs between to Luke and Matt. “Not really, if I”m being honest.”
“Oh, why? You’ll be great!” Matt smiled. “So everyone says,” you sighed.
“Hey, I heard you’re coming with us today. Can’t wait to have you on the field.” Spencer smiled as he walked past you.
“Yeah, I’m excited to outsmart you, too,” you smirked.
“Oh, Reid, looks like you have some competition!” Luke teased.
Spencer shook his head and looked at you through his lashes. You gave him a challenging look, leaning on the table.
“May the best agent win, Reid,” you dared.
“Alright,” he shrugged. “Better have no weaknesses, L/n.”
“Oh, I have none,” you smirked. Spencer replied to you with a hum, giving you an excited smile before paying attention to the case.
Penelope and Emily delivered the case to you six, then leaving you all to pack up your things as you were going on the jet. You got out the small duffle bag of clothes you had in your car for traveling on cases, also grabbing your phone charger and the case files. You walked up onto the jet, placing your bags up over the overhead storage area. You got seated across from Tara and next to Spencer.
You all talked about your plans to catch the unsub and where you all were assigned to. Tara, you, and Spencer were going to go to the crime scene to scope out the area. Emily and JJ would stay at the police station and work there, while Matt and Luke did witness and suspect interviews.
You were sitting back in your chair, looking out the window and admiring the sky as the jet flew through the clouds. You still had an hour before you landed. Everyone was either sleeping or listening to music. You had thought about going back to sleep, but it seems as though the three cups of coffee you had finally kicked in.
You regretted drinking so much coffee because now, your heart was racing and your hands were shaking. You weren’t sure if it was totally because of the caffeine or that you were nervous about being on the field for the first time, but you assumed it was a little bit of both.
Spencer, who was seated next to you, noticed your jitteriness. He closed his book softly, setting it down on the floor next to his seat, turning to you and taking your hands in his.
Your head snapped to him quickly, your eyes landing on his. He gave you a soft smile, beginning to rub his thumb over your knuckles.
“You’ll do great out there, alright?” He assured.
You sighed, turning away from the window and to him. “What if the lead I find doesn’t work? What if I can’t figure out where the unsub has the kids? O-Or what if I embarrass myself in front of the police chief?”
Spencer chuckled softly at your concerns, making you frown.
“Don’t laugh! Hey, I bet you had all these concerns when you first joined.”
“I did,” he admitted. “But, I learned that I worked with a team. It’s not just me doing the work, just like it’s not just you. You have seven people working with you on this. Try and relax, baby, alright? You do amazing work at the office. This won’t be any different.”
You scoffed, “Please. It’s like, a million times different.”
“Just try and relax,” he instructed, putting your hand up to his lips.
You smiled widely, your heart fluttering as he kissed your hand.
“Plus, even if it was just you working the case, I have no doubt you would figure it out quickly.”
“Thanks, babe,” you smiled and leaned your head against the headrest.
“Of course. I love you,” he said, leaning in and pressing a chaste kiss to your lips.
“Oh, gross. You guys know I just became newly single,” Tara scoffed.
You laughed and turned to her. “That was like, nine months ago.”
Tara raised her brows, looking at Matt and Spencer, and back at you. “You weren’t even here back then. How do you know this?”
“I just know things,” you winked. “Yeah, well I’m betting someone blabbed,” Tara grumbled.
“We would never,” Matt disagreed. “Mhm,” Tara hummed, going back onto her phone.
You smiled at you teammates and looked back at Spencer and putting your head on his shoulder. You closed your eyes for a few moments, opening your eyes again. You blinked rapidly, yawning and rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. You rolled your head around, your eyes settling onto Spencer who was back to reading his book. You turned your head back to the window, furrowing your brows as you noticed you weren’t up in the sky anymore.
“Oh, good. You’re up,” Spencer spoke, putting his book away.
“Are we here already?” You asked, your voice croaky and hoarse.
“Yep,” he nodded. “We landed about ten minutes ago.”
“Oh,” you frowned, sitting up and getting out of your seat. You stretched your limbs, yawning once more as you held your hand up above your head. “Why didn’t you wake me up?” You sighed.
“You’re just so peaceful when you sleep. I couldn’t,” he explained.
You smiled and went to get your luggage. “Thanks, Spence. But everyone is probably waiting for me now.”
“No, it’s alright. We can’t go and see the crime scene yet anyways.”
“How come?” You asked. “Not prepped for us,” Spencer answered.
“Since when does a crime scene need to be prepped for the FBI?” You snorted.
“You’d be surprised,” Spencer let out a breathy chuckle.
You put your duffle bag over your shoulders and handing Spencer his, holding your hand out for Spencer to take. “Join me down the stairs?”
“Of course,” he grinned, standing up and taking your hand into his and his bag.
You two walked off the jet, going over to the SUV. Spencer drove you two to the hotel where you dropped off your things, immediately going to the police station.
“ ‘Bout time!” Matt exclaimed, seeing you two walking through the doors.
You chuckled, “Sorry. Looks like the coffee wore off and I finally crashed.”
“It’s alright. I think the scene is ready for you guys to look at now,” he said.
“Great,” you smiled.
You and Spencer found Tara, going into the SUV once again, driving to the house where the parents were killed and children taken.
“Wow, I’ve never seen this much yellow tape in my life,” you chuckled. “Yeah. It’s definitely not an eye sore,” Tara chortled, stepping over the caution tape.
You and Spencer followed her, going up to the police offers that were talking at the front door.
“Hi, we’re FBI agent with the BAU. I’m Doctor Tara Lewis, this is Doctor Spencer Reid, and Agent Y/n L/n,” Tara introduced you all.
You smiled and shook the two officer’s hand. “Nice to meet you two.”
“Likewise. I’m Officer Santiago and this is Officer Reynolds. The parents were killed in two different places. The father in the bedroom, mother in the oldest child’s room.”
“Lovely. Can’t wait to see,” Tara smiled sarcastically.
“Oh, I bet. Go ahead and go in, let us know if you find anything, please,” Reynolds said.
You nodded and stepped into the house, cringing at the heavy smell of bleach.
“God. It’s like a hospital in here, but twenty times worse!” You held your nose. “I should’ve told Emily I needed to stay back with Penelope.”
“Oh, this is nothing,” Spencer smirked. “Wait until you see where they all got killed.”
“Ew, Spence!” You shrieked. “You’re supposed to protect me from all that.”
He chuckled, “All part of the job, baby.”
You nodded and sighed, knowing that he was right. As always. You three walked up the stairs, looking at where the father was killed. There was an enormous amount of blood of the bedsheets and some on the corner of the right nightstand, some splatters that were below on the floor.
“So,” you started. “We’re looking at a team, right? I mean, there’s no way that the unsub could kill the father without the mom noticing.”
“Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking’,” Tara nodded. “Well, I could be possible,” Spencer contradicted.
You and Tara looked at each other, confused.
“Yeah, how?” You asked.
“Well,” Spencer said, walking over to the bed. “The unsub could’ve choked or suffocated the father in his sleep. I mean, there were ligature marks around his neck, right?”
“True. And the mom was saying goodnight to her children, so she obviously didn’t see her husband get killed,” Tara added on.
You furrowed your brows, stepped out of the parents’s bedroom, going to the child’s.
“Yeah, but, what about the kid? I mean, wouldn’t it have screamed and fought and ran out of the house?” You asked.
Tara looked to you, eyes widening in surprise. “Yeah, that is a good thought. So… unsub number one is killing the father while unsub number two is kidnapping the mom slash killing the child…”
“No, that wouldn't work. Maybe it’s a group of three?” Spencer suggested.
“Maybe,” Tara shrugged.
You stepped into the child’s bedroom, scrunching your nose as a foul smell wafted under your nose. You walked around, covering your nose with your sleeve. You saw the blood on the bedsheets and nightstand table.
“Looks like the unsubs all have the same MO’s,” you muttered.
You opened the closet, seeing nothing but toys, clothes, and shoes. You closed the doors, looking around the walls, your heart sinking as you saw all the finger pantings and pictures of family and friends. You walked up to the wall, losing your balance as you tripped on a a long, soft object.
You let out a yelp, falling on your shoulder. You groaned in pain, turning on your back while holding your injured side. You looked around for the object you tripped on, frowning as you couldn’t find it. Something pale caught the corner of your eyes. You raised your brow, getting up on your knees and moving closer.
“What the —” You muttered, your voice getting caught in your throat as you realised it was an arm sticking out under the bed. “Oh, my —” You gasped, peering under the bed, seeing the dead body of one of the children. “Oh, my God!” You shouted, scooting back, your back hitting the wall as you stared at the lifeless body. Tears welled up in your eyes and you put your hand to your mouth, loud and broken sobs escaping your throat.
The boy couldn’t have been more than a few days old, yet it was still lying there. You could see the lifelessness in his eyes, and still the fear. There was a slit across his throat and cheek, his upper chest red with with green and purple bruises. You felt nauseas and cold, your heart sinking all the way down past your stomach. Your body was shaking and you couldn’t tear your eyes off of the body, no matter how hard you tried.
You heard the footsteps of your colleagues, their voices calling your name.
“Y/n, where are — O-Oh, my God.” Spencer’s eyes widened as he saw you crying on the floor. He immediately dropped down to his knees, taking you into his arms. “What happened.”
You were unable to move, your eyes staring wide at the body. Spencer followed your gaze, his own heart dropping down to his chest.
“Oh, man. Um,” Spencer said, looking away from the body and to you. His heart broke as he saw you so horrified. He put his hand on your cheek gently, turning your face so you were no longer looking at the body. “Let’s get you to out of here, alright?”
You nodded slowly, your breaths becoming laboured as you tried to calm yourself down in Spencer’s arms. He got up, taking you with him. He walked you out of the room, coming face-to-face with Tara.
“What happened?” Tara gasped.
“Looks like the unsubs left the older boy. Tell the police officers, I need to get Y/n out of here,” Spencer said.
Tara looked at you, nodding without hesitation. She let you two go, Spencer walking you down the stairs slowly. You exited the house, still taking heavy breathes as the image of the boy haunted your thoughts. Spencer gently got you seated into the car, buckling you in. He went to the driver’s seat, getting in and starting to drive.
You two sat in the silence for thirty minutes while Spencer drove around. You looked at the window the whole time, your eyes glossy and strained from crying and keeping them open. Whenever you closed your eyes, even to just blink, flashes of the dead boy raced through your mind. Spencer waited patiently for you to speak, understanding how shocked and horrified you were.
He parked in a Burger King parking lot, sighing and looking at you. He gingerly put his hand on your shoulder, only for you to shrug him away.
“Y/n,” he sighed.
“No,” you grumbled. “Take me back.”
“I think it would be smart if you took the day off. Seeing a dead body, especially a child’s and one you had no idea exited, can really throw you off. The first time I saw a dead body…. Man, I-I was sick to my stomach. I—”
“Shut up!” You exclaimed, waving your hands in the hair. You looked at him, your chest heaving up and down. Your brows were furrowed and mouth open, your eyes glaring at him.  “Just shut up, Spencer!”
His mouth went agape, hurt flashing though his eyes. He didn’t let your outburst  dampen his spirits, though. He knew you were embarrassed and still horrified, and that you didn’t like to feel belittled. So he gave you a small, comforting smile, taking your hands into his. You didn’t move away this time, but you avoided any and all eye contact.
“I know how you feel, babe,” he sympathised. “Yeah, I bet,” you muttered, your voice hoarse and dry.
He frowned and unbuckled, leaning closer to you. He put his hand on your chin, turning your head with strength and force. You eventually met his eyes, his smile dropping as he saw tears rolling down your cheeks once again, your lips pulled into a pout.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he assured, cupping your cheek and wiping your tears away with his thumb.
“N-No, it’s not,” you sobbed, shaking your head. “I-I’m so weak. I should’ve been ready. This is what I’ve been tra-trainging for and I suddenly turn into a freaking wuss? I-I… I… It’s so embarrassing!” You shoulders racked with sobs as you hung your head down to cry.
“Oh, baby,” Spencer sighed, taking your head in both of his hands. He held your head up again, bringing his face close to yours. He put his forehead against yours, kissing the tip of your nose lightly. “It’s no embarrassing, alright? Your reaction was a perfectly normal reaction to seeing a dead child’s body. Honestly, if you didn’t cry and freak out, I would be worried,” he chuckled.
You gave him a watery smile, laughing with him. “Y-Yeah, I s-suppose,” you sniffled. “B-But,” you started. “I-It makes me look weak. And I don’t want to look weak, Spence. A-All my life I’ve been told —”
He smiled widely, leaning back so he could look you in the eyes. “You’re not weak, Y/n. You never could be, even if you tried. You’re just human, and that’s fine. It’s amazing, honestly. You know, I am so proud of you, babe.”
You frowned, “Why?”
“Because today was your first day out on the field, and you did fantastic. It can only get better from here.”
“Y-You really think so?” You sniffed, wiping your nose with your sleeve.
“I know so,” he nodded confidently. “And it’s okay to show weakness, Y/n. No weakness is the real weakness.”
“Such wise words,” you laughed. He laughed with you and he shrugged. “I try.”
You laid your head back on the headrest, looking a him through tired eyes. “Thanks, Spencer. It really means a lot.”
He nodded with a smile. “Of course, honey. Now, why don’t you say we get something to eat, then go back to the precinct?”
“Yeah,” you nodded, “Sounds great.”
He nodded and buckled himself back in, putting his hand on the gearshift and looking to you.
“I’m proud of you, you know that?”
You smiled shyly, heat scorching your cheeks. “Yeah, I know. You’ve already told me.”
“Just making sure you know, baby.”

In the first month you spent broken up with Tom, you, for once, felt at peace, with no burden of hiding relationships and denying feelings. You had forgotten how free living singly was. Within that month, you were able to reshape your life. Your grades began to improve, and your mental health had phenomenally developed for he better. Your friends had even gone out of their ways to help you with a "glow up."
Tom, on the other hand, had tried to shape him into a better person in hopes of salvaging your crumbling, if you could even call it that, relationship. He worked harder in class, and every time he saw you sitting in the lecture hall, you were surrounded by other classmates, giving him no place to fit in. He also started to distance himself from his old group of friends, looking for a better, influential group.
Tom couldn't help but feel a tug at his heart when he saw you walking with one other friend to class, laughing at something they said. He saw how your under eye-bags turned bright and how you shoulders straightened up after the breakup. It broke his heart to know the negative impact he had on you, which you never complained or spoke out about.
The brunette wanted to improve for you and himself.
Tumblr media
How you ended up in a pair of high-waisted, black, denim shorts and a black bandeau with a sheer, cropped, long-sleeved shirt overtop you didn't know. After much begging and bothering, your friend had convinced you to go to the afterparty of the football game. You tried your best to deny their attempts but failed when they baited you with money.
This would be your first time attending a party, for you were always driven home and away from them. You couldn't deny, though, the chills that snaked down your spine at the mention of it.
Stepping into the house, you noticed how similar it looked to a fraternity. People were dancing, pushing their bodies against others and grinding their hips onto drunk partners. Other students were playing beer pong, stripping on tables, or resting on couches with a red, plastic cup in their hands. It smelled terribly of sweat and oversaturated body spray, making you gag on your breath.
"How do so many people like this?" You shouted over the pounding music and loud voices.
"How do you not?" You friend giggled, dragging you through the crowd.
Dodging and pushing people off of you, you gripped your friend's hand tightly, afraid of losing them.
"Where are we going?" You asked, eyes darting all over the place in uncertainty.
"Before we party, we've got to get drinks," they pushed the door of the kitchen open, revealing the alcohol infested space.
Scrambling over to the bulky cooler, they grabbed a can of beer, popping it open and downing it.
Flinching in disgust, you commented, "Don't you want to wash that, first?"
"What d'you mean? It looks perfectly clean to me," they shrugged, throwing you a can.
Tumblr media
You clumsily captured the condensated drink, before putting it on the counter behind you, "I don't drink."
They groaned, "Why are you such a doormat? Come on," they nudged your shoulder, "Live a little."
You laughed, "I can "live a little" just fine with water."
"Ugh, fine. I'm guessing you also want to sit in a corner and become a hermit," they spoke, sarcastically.
"Actually," your eyes lit up, "I do."
"You," they pointed at you unsteadily, "annoy me, but since I already brought you along," their finger moved to point at an idle seat in the corner of a calmer room, "There."
You nodded, eyeing the isolated spot with glee. However, before your friend could escape into the crowd, you told them to stay safe and slipped away to occupy said seat.
Although Tom no longer associated himself with his old group of friends, he couldn’t avoid them forever, as they were his teammates. Also, as the captain of the football team, it was practically an obligation for him to attend the after parties.
Honestly, ever since you had broken up with Tom, he had developed a small fear of being whisked away by his fangirls and teammates, constantly thinking you were waiting in his car for him. His guilt had piled on top of his conscious, leaving him an insecure wreck.
Nevertheless, he stepped into the filled building, nodding and waving at familiar faces. One face he wasn’t expecting to see sat in the corner of the room was yours.
He shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut, he murmured to himself, “She’s not there, you idiot.”
“Tom, buddy,” a familiar voice hollered.
Tumblr media
Through your peripheral vision, you swore that you saw his chocolate curls, but when you looked up from your phone, he had disappeared. Your eyes began to dart through the crowd of people, looking for the man you supposedly had gotten over.
Quickly realizing your mistake, you shunned yourself for willingly wrapping yourself around his little finger. You returned to scrolling through your phone, distracting yourself with the illuminated screen.
Tumblr media
Tom watched as his teammate, and former friend, grabbed at a girl swaying her hips, pushing her ass against his friend’s crotch, into a grind. Suddenly feeling highly uncomfortable where he stood, he moved into the kitchen to grab a drink.
The room let in muffled sounds but ultimately was the quietest room in the building. The white LED lights left the room bright and easy to navigate, albeit the clusters of finished drinks and used cups littered on the counters and in the sink and overflowing out of the trashcan.
The brunette drifted over to the fridge, locating the fresh water bottles hidden from other partygoers.
Tumblr media
Feeling quenched, you stood up from your seat, unwillingly. You looked for a quick and precise path to the kitchen, though you failed to do so. Deciding to extemporize it, you awkwardly squished your way through the crowd, mumbling “excuse me” and “sorry” periodically.
Pushing the white-paint clad, wooden door open, you stumbled your way into the room, glaring at the sudden brightness engulfing your vision.
Tumblr media
Hearing the music and sound of people cheering grow louder, Tom turned around to see the oh-so familiar girl he had fallen infatuated with many months ago.
You stood, blinking your eyes as they tried to adapt to the sudden change of lighting. Groaning, your hands began massaging and harassing the poor skin of your eyelids.
Your unnoticed ex, still stood in front of the fridge with a cool bottle of water in his hand, smiled at your adorable behaviour — widely contrasting your provocative outfit — watching as your cheeks puffed out in frustration.
Feeling the haze leave your eyes, you looked ahead of you to see a silhouette emerging. Embarrassed, you blushed, looking down at your shoes.
You felt a cool presence resting beside your cheek, and quickly looked at the item.
Water? You thought, confused.
Eyes trailing up the arm holding the bottle, your met with the sight of your former boyfriend smiling at you.
“Tom,” you breathed.
After avoiding and ignoring the boy for so many weeks, you already had forgotten how sweet he looked with a smile and soft blush grazing his cheeks. Maybe you hadn’t forgotten; you were just rarely, if ever, given the opportunity to admire it.
“Hey,” he responded, shyly rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.
You glanced at the bottle then back to Tom, silently asking what he was doing with it.
“O-Oh, I just thought you’d want a bottle of water, since you don’t drink, but if you do now, that’s totally cool too,” he rambled nervously, like a little boy talking to his crush on the playground.
Although you had only broken up with him a bit over a month ago, you couldn’t bring yourself to trust taking the drink from him.
“Thanks, but I can get one myself. I’m sure you wanted to drink that too.”
You gave him an awkward, tight-lipped smile before walking past him to the fridge. Reaching into the cool container, you pulled out a frosted water bottle.
The situation was strange. Everything felt so familiar but so different. It didn’t feel right to talk to each other like you knew how they slept in bed at night or how they loved warm cuddles on the couch as they binged shows and movies.
“Look, Y/N,” Tom spoke up, breaking the tension with a breath, “I know that I was a jerk we were together. I also know that I neglected you. I shouldn’t have cared about what everyone else thought about our relationship.
“Looking back, I understand why you were so frustrated with me, and you had every right to break up with me. I was a wuss that used protecting you as an excuse to keep you under covers. I reveled in the popularity and attention I got, back then.
“I’m different, now, though. I’m not saying you have to take me back. You don’t even have to consider it. All I want to do, right here, right now, is to apologize to you, so, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all the anguish and sadness I caused. I’m sorry you had to waste your tears on me. I’m so fucking sorry, and if I have the slightest chance to even be your friend again, please let me take it.”
You felt a churning in your core, and tears prickled the corner of your eyes. You didn’t understand where your emotions arose from. You thought that you had moved on from Tom. You thought you had left him behind, left him in the shadows of your life.
You turned around, hand reaching up to quickly wipe your tears away. That is, until a calloused hand grabbed your wrist.
“Don’t,” the accented voice choked, “It hurts me as much as it does you.”
Your words were caught in your throat. You tried to say something, anything, but nothing but sobs slipped your lips.
Everything became a blur. You could only feel warmth enveloping you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, darling,” Tom murmured into your hair.
Tumblr media
After the encounter at the party, you and Tom went on with your life as normal.
Although, nothing that happened that night could be considered normal. You cried while he held you tightly in his arms. He apologized for his faults and asked for a second chance, as a friend or more. You forgave him and gave him the chance.
Will you ever want to have the same relationship you had with Tom as before? No.
You and Tom are working on building a better, healthier relationship for the both of you: an open and honest relationship that won’t be hidden from anyone, especially not his “fangirls.”
Tumblr media
“Don’t ever hide your tears again,” Tom whispered into your hair, “Let them flow.” His pointer finger gently lifts your chin, locking his eyes with your tear-filled ones. He brings his thumb to your cheek, wiping away the shining streaks of pain, sadness, desperation.
“Let them flow because I’ll be here. I’ll be here to wipe them away every and any time.”

karate kid: “because of you” ₊˚ ⸝  johnny x reader
Tumblr media
❝but it can all get a lil’ crazy, unless there’s something to hold onto. for me, that was true love.❞
gif credit: n/a song: lana del rey - because of you
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
pairings: johnny lawrence (1984) x reader
warnings: angst, language, mentions of sex, themes of depression, the overuse of the word ‘baby’ lmfaooo
summary: despite johnny’s reputation, you still weren’t expecting him, your first and only, to be unfaithful. but you were only a blind fool in love, after all.
“.. What the hell is going on here?”
You stood back on the beach overlook with your friend, watching the scene unravel before your eyes.
Below you, there Johnny was, along with his little Cobra Kai gang. The small crowd of teenagers around him shouted and cheered as he brawled with a smaller kid in a red sweater, who was obviously getting his ass beat.
“Dammit, Johnny, stop!”
A familiar high pitched, girlish scream caught your attention. Your eyes scanned the crowd until they stopped on Ali, who you knew to be Johnny’s old flame. Despite them being over for a while now, you knew Johnny still had feelings for her. But it was something you buried in the back of your mind. You were too in love with Johnny to acknowledge or care about the fact that he hasn’t moved on.
Now, watching what was happening, you didn’t know what to think or how to feel. You’ve barely talked to Johnny at all over the week, and now you find him here?
Instead of intervening and chasing after Johnny, you gestured for your friend to follow you back to the car and head elsewhere. She didn’t protest and based on the heartbroken expression on your face, she knew better than to question you. Now was not the time to talk it through.
Since that night, things were not the same. You explained your situation to your parents who were aware of your relationship, or now former relationship with Johnny. Johnny would call a few times a day, but you never bothered to pick up. His calls started to get more and more frequent, so you ended up blocking his number. Because of this, you started to fall out with the Cobra Kais, who you made good friends with because of your relationship with Johnny. So knowing you’d run into them at school, you stopped attending and would spend the days locked up in your room, only going out to use the bathroom or get something from the kitchen. By now, Johnny knew something was up, and went as far as to pick a fight with your dad whenever he’d drop by your house, asking to see you.
“Come on! I just wanna see Y/N, dammit!”
“She’s none of your business anymore, young man. Now get the hell off my property!”
“Man, fuck you! Let me see her! I need to talk to her!”
“You have three seconds, Mr Lawrence!”
“Y/N, I know you’re in there! I know you can hear me!”
Tumblr media
The days became gloomier and gloomier. Weeks had passed and you hadn’t talked to anybody. You shut everyone out and would spend the days alone in your bed, wallowing in your own self pity.
How could you be so foolish?
To think you could be the one to fix Johnny.
To think he loved you as much as you loved him.
To think he would want a future with you as much as he wanted your clothes off.
But the reality hit you; you were just a rebound. And you let him use you. It was all your fault.
An overwhelming feeling of nausea and anxiety overtook you. You jumped off your bed and ran to the bathroom, pushing open the toilet lid and vomiting. You flushed the contents down and got to your feet to straighten yourself up. You looked at yourself in the mirror, your eyes widening in disbelief. You didn’t even recognize your reflection.. The person looking back at you was a stranger.
You lifted your hand up to touch your face as you analyzed your appearance. You had dark bags under your bloodshot eyes, your hair disheveled, skin pale and dry.
“That’s just great.”
Sighing, you stooped down to the sink to rinse your mouth out and splash water on your face. As soon as you were finished, you flicked the light switch and trailed back to your room. However, you were stopped in your tracks by the sound of your father’s voice.
“Y/N..? Oh, wow.. Wow, girl, I haven’t seen you in days.. How are you feeling now?” He stared down at you, searching your empty face for answers. You avoided his gaze, crossing his arms and looking down at your feet. He sighed, “The school called. You need to return by this Monday.”
You felt your heart sink. You looked up at him, opening your mouth to speak until he cut you off.
“I know you’re still healing but... This isn’t good for you. When you get back to school, you’ll at least get to hang out with your friends again, right?” You weakly shrugged, causing him to let out another heavy sigh. He patted your shoulder. “It’ll get better and soon, you’ll be back to your normal self!”
“What day is it?” you asked.
“It’s Sunday..”
You groaned, “Oh, gosh.”
“Hey, hey, hey, you’ll be fine.”
You rolled your eyes. “Yeah, definitely. I’ll run into my ex and his little posse, who I ghosted, and then have to explain to my friends why I look and feel like shit. Great. Thanks dad,” you scoffed sarcastically, and stormed off into your room, slamming it shut.
Tumblr media
Today was the today. Exasperatingly, you dragged yourself out of bed, showered, brushed your teeth, and tied up your hair into a long braid that cascaded down your back. You figured you’d put on a bit of concealer to hide your dark circles, and topped that off by applying dark red lipstick. You dressed yourself in a white shirt, the collar sticking out of the green sweater you layered on top of it. You matched that with a white pleated skirt that stopped mid thigh, and slipped on a pair of black knee high socks.
Finished with your look, you shrugged on your backpack and headed downstairs, putting on your Mary Janes before pulling open the front door. You ignored your mom’s calls and ran out to the driveway, about to get into your vehicle to head to school. However, the plans seemed to change when a familiar red car idling on your street caught your attention.
Your heart began to thump loudly in your chest when you met Johnny’s burning gaze as he waited for you in the car. Knowing how stubborn and persistent he was, you immediately gave up and got into the car, slamming the door shut.
“All right, so you gonna explain where the hell you’ve been?” Anger and rancor dripped off his voice. You knew this would happen.
Turning to look him in the eye, you treated him with the same attitude. “Oh, that’s just golden! Where have I been? No, Johnny, where the hell have you been? I was trying to reach you for over a week until I found you at the beach with Ali.. Not to mention you were picking on that poor kid.”
As soon as you mentioned Ali, Johnny’s demeanor changed. He laid back into his seat, his jaw clenched. He was caught.
“Did you seriously think I wouldn’t find out?”
When he wouldn’t reply, you broke the silence. “I don’t wanna argue with you right now, let alone talk to you. Now just drive me to school or I’ll be late.”
He scoffed. “Since when did you care about being late? You were absent for more than a week!”
“Jeez, wonder why,” you retorted. “You know what? This was a mistake.” You pushed open the car door, about to step out, when Johnny gripped your wrist, pulling you back.
“Wait, don’t go,” he said softly, begging you to stay. Worry filled his big baby blue eyes as he waited on your decision. “Please, Y/N.” You could never say no to him, especially when he was giving you that look. You got back into the car and shut the door, but faced away from Johnny. You swatted away his hand, causing him to recoil and put both hands on the wheel.
“If we’re gonna talk, let’s not do it here,” you said.
After that, you both stayed silent as he started the car, driving off to wherever. As you drew nearer to your destination, the surroundings started to look more and more familiar. It hit you; this is where you and Johnny had your first kiss, and maybe a little more than just that.. You found yourself smiling at the memories. Then again, maybe some things are just better as memories.
You were laid beside Johnny on his car, watching the sunset. When the sun went down, instead of heading back home, you ended up stargazing together. You both entirely forgot about your surroundings and the time, getting lost in conversation. Conversation turned into kissing, which eventually lead to something much more heated.
“You’re so damn beautiful, baby. I can’t believe you’re all mine,” Johnny hummed, beaming and grinning widely. You giggled, continuing to pepper his pretty face with kisses.
“Well, you better believe it then, babe,” you said in between kisses. “Cause I’m not going anywhere.”
Johnny sighed in satisfaction, pulling you closer to him. “Good, I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Johnny managed to catch your lips, capturing you in a deep, passionate and loving kiss. He held you tightly against him as you straddled his lap like his life depended on it.
Johnny pulled over, snapping you back into reality. You overlooked the city as he shut off the car engine with a heavy sigh, preparing himself for whatever was to come out of this conversation.
“So? You got anything to say for yourself, Lawrence?”
He took a moment to think, before opening his mouth to speak.
“Y/N.. I’m sorry. I fucked up big time.” You scoffed at that, rolling your eyes and looking away from Johnny. “I’m sorry! I really am! I know I shouldn’t have gone after Ali when I had you.”
“Had,” you pointed out, chuckling.
“Oh, just listen to me, will ya? I told you I’m sorry and I admit to my mistakes!”
“And lemme guess; you’re telling me all this just now because Ali once again rejected you?” Johnny stayed silent, a sheepish and guilty look on his face. You groaned, “For fucks sake, Johnny. Do you ever mean the things you say? This was a complete waste of my time.”
“I didn’t wanna lose you, Y/N.”
“If you’re still loving Ali, then you’ve already lost me.”
“Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious. You ghosted me! At least I tried to make things right between us instead of running away!”
“You really are an awful person, Johnny Lawrence. My friends were right about you-” you blurted out. Your throat ached as you tried to keep yourself together. “You’re really nothing but a player! There is no ‘us’. You don’t give a damn about me. You never did. So just drop the act and take me to school,” you whispered the last part, not wanting Johnny to hear your voice break. But he could easily see through your anger and sense the sadness in your voice.
You faced the opposite direction from Johnny.
“Please look at me,” Johnny said after a while. You refused to glance his way, your eyes fixed on your fingers as you anxiously twiddled them together. The rage built up inside of you and the thoughts fueled by heartbreak, you kept to yourself. You wanted to be strong. You didn’t want to show Johnny how much he truly hurt you. But all that was gone when tears began to stream down your face.
“Oh, Y/N, please don’t cry. I’m sorry, I-” Johnny trailed off, his voice cracking. He felt so lost. He had never been faced with a situation like this, even with Ali. And he’s never seen you cry before. You were always tough and strong in front of him, and to see you bawl like this, he thought it really must be that bad.
“Don’t apologize unless you really mean it,” you sniffled. “Don’t make it worse than it already is.”
“Then I’m gonna keep apologizing because I mean it! With all my heart, Y/N, I’m sorry. I never wanted to make you cry. I can’t stand seeing you like this because of me.”
You turned your face slightly towards Johnny’s direction, curiosity and hope sparking inside of you.
“I was told that you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. And even if you leave after this, I’m not gonna hide the way I feel, Y/N. I’ve never felt this way about a girl. Even with Ali. That’s why I was confused at first, but I knew I wanted to make it work with you.” Johnny squeezes your hand in his significantly bigger ones. “I hated to admit it at first, but I was and am smitten with you. You cross my mind everyday, and every song reminds me of you. And- And even if you shut me out after this.. If you go, I’ll stay. Even when you fall out of love, I just want you to know I’ll always have feelings for you.”
You didn’t know what to say after Johnny’s confession. You had all these emotions; betrayal, heartbreak, anger, confusion. They clouded your mind. You didn’t know how to properly react.
“Do you really mean that?”
Johnny chuckles sadly, “I may be a douche, but I’m not a liar.”
You leaned back into your seat, replaying everything that just happened in your head. Johnny’s confessions, his declaration of love for you. You knew Johnny had a rough life and wasn’t one to be open about his feelings. And you also knew you loved that boy, even after the pain he caused you. Did you really wanna risk it and be with him?
After being silent for a while, the uncomfortable stillness in the air prompted Johnny to speak up.
“You- I- I’ll just.. I can take you home. Wherever-”
“No! Wait, don’t,” you placed your hand over Johnny’s before he got the chance to start the car. You locked eyes with him, your heart beat beginning to speed up suddenly. You were stuck on what to do at that moment.
“Oh, fuck it,” you thought to yourself, and cupped Johnny’s face, bringing him closer to you. Now without the support of your hands, you were caught off balance and ended up stumbling atop Johnny. And in the heat of the moment, you crashed your lips to his. Okay, that was totally intentional.
Johnny didn’t waste a second and immediately kissed you back, holding you steady above him. You really didn’t want to, but you had to break the kiss for air, giving Johnny the chance to let out breathy words.
“Fuck, I’ve missed you so much, baby.”
You pressed your forehead to his and wrapped your arms around his shoulders while you tangled your fingers in his hair. He cupped your face, placing gentle little kisses on your nose.
“Nothing bad is gonna happen to us, baby, I promise.”

You were sitting on the barstool next to Nestor’s, both of you commiserating over how exhausting your weeks had been. Work was very different for the two of you, obviously, but you were both drained nonetheless.
The bar you went to was a quiet one. It was mostly business men and women doing the same thing the two of you were—blowing off steam after a long week. People didn’t pay the two of you much mind, which suited you just fine. You and Nestor had a habit of getting lost in your own little bubble anyway.
You were about to jump into your next work story when your phone started going off in your pocket. You glanced over at Nestor as if to ask if it was alright to answer. He nodded and you lifted the phone to your ear.
“Hello?” you paused, smiling, “Hey, baby. Nothing, I’m at the bar with Nestor. Do you wanna st—” you stopped, expression falling, “Oh, okay. No, I get it. I’ll talk to you later. Yea, you too. Bye.”
You hung up with a heavy sigh. Nestor sat silently for a moment before asking, “All good?”
You nodded, rolling your eyes, “Yea. Cancelled again.”
Even though he knew the answer, he still asked, “Dante?”
“Mhm,” you shook your head slightly, wondering why you were still at all surprised.
Nestor bit back the snide comments swirling around in his brain. He had never been a fan of Dante, and he let you know that. Nestor wasn’t ever rude to him, but they weren’t friends either. You knew that it didn’t help that your boyfriend was intimidated by Nestor, even if he never admitted it.
“That mean you have time for another drink?” he tried to lighten the mood.
You laughed, “Means I have time for a few more,” you immediately flagged down the bartender to order another round for both of you.
A few quickly turned into…more than that for you. Nestor tried to get you to slow down but he knew that it was a losing battle at that point. The best he could do for you was to take your keys, so he did. He knew that after an already shitty week, this was the final straw, but he still hated to see you so drained and frustrated and still trying to pretend that you were alright.
“Fuck him,” you blurted out as Nestor helped you stumble-walk to his car.
He chuckled, “I know.”
He let you rant the whole drive to your apartment about how fed up you were with your boyfriend. He wondered if you’d remember it all in the morning and finally, maybe, break up with him. Nestor knew he was biased, but you deserved better. He told you that constantly, but you always waved him off, saying it wasn’t that bad.
“Your relationship should be better than just not bad, Y/N,” trying to talk sense to you in the state that you were in was futile, but he still had to try.
“You’re so sweet, Nestor,” you cooed tiredly from the passenger seat.
He didn’t respond, not wanting to feed into words you wouldn’t remember in the morning. He glanced over at you a couple minutes later and saw that you’d fallen asleep. There was no stopping the smile that spread across his face at the sight of you.
Before he knew it, he was parking in front of your apartment building. As much as he didn’t want to wake you, he knew he had to. He got out and walked over to your side of the car, nudging you awake. You groaned in protest, but allowed him to help you out of the vehicle.
He was thankful that you only lived on the second floor of your building. With a sigh, he knocked on the door. He’d already let your roommate know that he was bringing you home. She opened the door, clearly exhausted and bundled up in her bathrobe.
“Sorry,” he offered up as he crossed the threshold into the apartment.
She shook her head, “Don’t be. Thanks for getting her home safely.”
He helped you to your room, gently lowering you onto the bed. You had no desire to change into pajamas and it wasn’t a battle that Nestor was going to pick. He pulled the blanket up over you, letting out a quiet sigh as he lightly rested his hand on your shoulder for a moment.
Not wanting to linger for too long, he turned and walked back towards your bedroom door. He heard you mumble out a quiet thank you, and he smiled to himself as he shut the door behind him.
Your roommate was still in the living room, an expectant look on her face, “Can I ask what happened to her?”
Nestor sighed and shrugged, “Shit with Dante.”
She shook her head, “Of course.”
“They have a lot of issues lately?”
She shot him a curious look, “No more than usual, I guess. Why?”
“He’s a waste of her fucking time.”
She bit back a laugh, knowing that Nestor was extra protective of you. She had a pretty good idea of why, too, “No, really, tell me how you really feel,” she smiled.
“Come on, you see it too, right? He doesn’t deserve her. She doesn’t belong with him.”
She fought back the urge to smile, “Who does she belong with, then?”
“With me,” the words came out before he could stop them. His eyes went wide, instantly realizing what he had said. Before he could try to take it back, though, she held up her hand to stop him.
“You ever gonna say anything to her about that?”
He shook his head, “What’s the point?”
She shrugged, “You might be more convincing than you think. That’s all.”
He pressed his lips into a thin line, “Mhm,” he sighed, “Anyway. Sorry for barging in so late.”
She chuckled, “Don’t worry about it.”
“I can take her to get her car tomorrow.”
She nodded, “Sounds good. Have a good night.”
“You too,” he walked out of the apartment, shutting the door quietly behind him.
He was mentally kicking himself the whole drive home. Why he wasn’t able to catch himself before he said anything was beyond him—he was usually better than that. He just hoped that your roommate wouldn’t say anything to you about it.
You woke up the next morning with a groan, and a throbbing sensation in your head. You had a vague set of memories from the night before, but it was hard to think about it through the hangover. You slowly forced yourself to sit upright, gently rubbing the sleep from your eyes. You checked your phone and saw that you had multiple missed texts from your boyfriend, and that was when it all really came rushing back. You let out a heavy sigh, making the conscious choice to ignore him for the time being. You weren’t done being upset with him.
You slowly made your way to the kitchen for coffee and aspirin. You heard your roommate chuckling from the living room and shook your head, “Don’t.”
She laughed, “What are you talking about? I didn’t say anything.”
You sighed as you poured coffee into your mug, “You don’t have to. I already know what you’re going to say.”
“Oh? And what’s that?”
You threw back a few aspirin before turning to look at your friend, “You’re going to say that he is more stress than he’s worth, and that I should’ve left him about ten cancelled dates ago.”
She nodded, “And the number will keep getting higher the longer you put it off.”
You shook your head slightly, “I know it’s shitty, Julia. I’m not an idiot.”
“I never said that you were. But you know that if the roles were reversed you would be telling me the same thing.”
You let out a dry laugh, “Since when do I ever take my own advice?”
“Maybe you should start,” she paused for a moment, “Nestor said he’d take you to go get your car, by the way.”
“Fuck,” you groaned, “My car. Didn’t even think about that.”
She shrugged, “Call him. I’m sure he’d be more than happy to come and whisk you away.”
You chuckled as you got your phone out to text him, “You make it sound so extravagant.”
“He’s a good guy, you know,” she sipped on her coffee.
You looked over at her, “Don’t.”
“What? I’m just…stating a fact.”
You took another swig of your coffee and walked away without another word on the matter, desperate to take a shower and put some more comfortable clothes on. You couldn’t remember the last time you fell asleep in your work clothes like that.
By the time you were done showering and getting ready, Nestor was already outside your apartment building. You said goodbye to your roommate, trying to make it was quick as possible before she could say anything else. On a couple other occasions, before Dante, she had made comments about you and Nestor. She laid off of it once you got a boyfriend, though, so you were wondering what made her pick the habit back up again.
You collapsed into the passenger seat of Nestor’s car with a sigh. He looked over at you, smiling, “Looks like you had a rough one last night.”
“Thank you so much for bringing me home. I’m so sorry.”
He shook his head, “Don’t be. Glad I could help,” he paused, “You talk to him at all?”
You sighed, “No. I don’t even want to at this point. He’s just gonna apologize and say it won’t happen again. But it will.”
“Why are you wasting your time with him, then?” he kept his tone fairly neutral considering how much the situation bothered him.
You shrugged, “Sometimes I’m not even sure, honestly. Sunk cost, maybe? I don’t know. Breakups are always so messy.”
“I can deliver the message for you,” there was a lightness to his tone but you knew that he definitely would.
“Ha, that would be a sight for sure,” you laughed, shaking your head.
The rest of the ride passed with silence between the two of you, the only noise coming from the music playing quietly from the car radio. Every now and then you’d look over at Nestor, thinking about what your roommate had said. With concentrated effort you were able to push the thoughts from your mind.
“I’m just saying,” he said out of nowhere as he pulled into the parking lot of the bar, “you deserve someone who, at minimum, fucking shows up for you.”
You smiled at him, “I appreciate it, Nestor,” you unbuckled and stepped out of the car, walking around to his side as he got out, “And I appreciate you always looking out for me. I’ve got it handled, though.”
He stood in front of you as you leaned back against the side of his car, toying idly with the keys in between your fingers. There was a small smirk on his face as he took in the sight of you, still thinking you looked beautiful hungover in your sweats, fresh out of the shower.
He shrugged, “I know I can’t tell you what to do. But you deserve more than being disappointed all the time,” he sighed, “You know I think Dante’s an asshole. But I’d be willing to look past that if he was at least good to you, but he’s not. You talk about sunk cost but why keep wasting your fucking time if he’s not even making you happy?”
You couldn’t meet his eyes, “Because it’s better than being alone.”
“He’s still making you feel that way anyway, though!”
“I know!” you snapped. You took an unsteady breath, knowing that this blowout was a long time coming. You just wished that it didn’t have to happen right in that moment, “You’re right, okay? And yea I know better than to just be with someone for the sake of being with someone but…I don’t fucking know, Nes,” you shook your head, “Sometimes I just think that it’s easier this way. I know what to expect, even if the expectations aren’t exactly good. Leaving and having to tear down all those walls again with someone new? That’s fucking exhausting and I don’t want to keep doing that over and over again.”
“So you’re just gonna stay with him and be miserable forever?”
“Forever,” you scoffed, “C’mon, don’t be dramatic.”
“Well that’s the alternative, right? You either leave him, or you stay with him forever.”
“Why is this such a fucking issue for you all of a sudden?”
“Because you were on the brink of a fucking bender last night because of him. I hate that someone out there is making you feel that way when they’re supposed to be the one making you happy.”
“It’s not your job to worry about me and keep me in check,” your eyes were glued to the tips of your shoes.
“Yea, it is,” he stepped in, gently cupping your face in his hands, forcing you to look at him, “because I care about you.”
A wave of heat washed over your entire body and you couldn’t force yourself to move, or talk. All you could do was look into his eyes and try not to let your knees buckle underneath you. You and Nestor had hugged and touched a million times but not like this, never like this. He made you feel small and safe all at once.
“I just want you to be happy,” his voice was soft.
“I know,” you finally forced the words out, barely audible.
He traced his thumb across your cheek, “I could make you so happy, Y/N.”
You didn’t know why you felt like you were about to cry, but you did. You tried to take a deep breath to calm your nerves as you rested your hands over his. You closed your eyes and leaned into his touch, “I know.”
“Will you let me do that?”
“Nes…”
“You know I’m right. You said it yourself,” he let out a soft chuckle as his hands slid down so they were resting on your shoulders.
You smiled up at him, realizing how close he had gotten, closing what little distance was between the two of you and nearly pinning you against the side of the car. You ran your hands over your face, a smirk fighting its way onto your face despite the myriad of emotions coursing through you, “You’re not gonna let this go, huh?”
He smiled, shaking his head, “No.”
You laughed, but your expression quickly sobered as you looked him in the eye, “I can’t lose you, Nestor.”
“You won’t,” there was no hesitation in his response, “I promise. You just, you gotta give me a chance.” You took a deep breath, leaning forward so your forehead rested against his chest. You shut your eyes, reveling in the way his arms instantly wrapped around you. He gave you a light squeeze, “You deserve to be happy.”
You pulled back from him just enough so that you could look at his face. He had one of the softest smiles you’d ever seen, and you couldn’t help but to smile in return when you saw it. You rested your hands on his chest, “We’re really gonna do this?”
“Only if you want to.”
You nodded, “I do.”
He smiled, “Then yea, we’re really doing this,” he pulled you tight against his chest with a laugh, “Can I break the news to Dante?”
You laughed, shaking your head, “Absolutely not. I get to do that part.”
He let out an exaggerated sigh, “Fine. I guess that’s fair.”
The two of you stood there like that for a few moments, processing the weight of everything that had just happened. You could feel the steady beat of his heart through his shirt, and despite the chaos of the situation that you were in, you found yourself feeling calm, reassured.
“Thank you,” you finally broke the silence, “for, you know, for not giving up on me.”
He squeezed you tight for a moment, “I’ve got you, always.”
It was refreshing to be able to believe what you were being told. You let out a sigh of relief, knowing that he meant it, knowing that your days of questioning things and being filled with disappointment and uncertainty were over. He felt like a breath of fresh air, like you were coming home after being away for far too long.

"She's...." Woozi's voice trails off on the other end of the line.
"Drunk." (y/f/n) finishes, holding your phone up to her ear.
"How? She never drinks." He wonders incredulously but at the same time is scrambling to collect his things.
(y/f/n) shrugs, "Well, she did tonight. And she drank a lot."
"Is she gonna get sick on the way home?" Woozi wonders, slightly worried about how he's going to get you home.
"I don't think so. She's just very, mm, very emotional." (y/f/n) says glancing over as you have your head buried in your hands. Not tears yet, just massive amounts of guilt.
Woozi sighs more out of worry than anything. Worry because you really never drink. Partly because you're a lightweight and partly because you hate, absolutely despise, the way alcohol makes your body feel. Gets you all red and itchy and it's not a fun time for you.
"I'll be right over. Could you text me your address?" Woozi asks, slipping on his jacket.
"Yeah, no problem." (y/f/n) says and hangs up before texting Woozi her address. Then she places your phone back into your purse.
Your hands drop from your face then and you continue your previous rant, cheeks are still bright red as is the little amount of chest showing. And from the last bathroom trip, everyone knows your thighs are also cherry red.
"I just, I just feel so so so bad." You lull your head to the side. "Like I know it's not my fault for not enjoying alcohol or the taste or how it makes my body feel but I feel so bad when all his friends are drinking and I'm the only sober one."
"Who wants to play another game?" Another one of your friends asks, trying to break the odd tension you've created. But the question only springs another tangent from you.
"And games!" You throw your hands into the air, "When we play games and it involves drinking I try not play because half of the time Woozi has to drink for me! Why am I always the sober one?" You lean in close to the person next to you to emphasize your question.
"Because you have your reasons." She answers your question with a humored smile. She's clearly enjoying your drunken state as are the others along with a little worry cause they've never seen you drunk or drinking before.
"My reasons make me feel guilty." You pout like a child. "I'm starting to wonder if I should drink more and force myself to get better with it all."
"No, no, no." (y/f/n) quickly shakes her hands in front of her, "That's probably not a good idea. Remember the last time you tried that?"
"When did I ever do that?" You ask, blinking blankly at her.
"Before you finally gave up on alcohol the first time." She reminds you and the memory resurfaces like a bad nightmare.
You visibly shiver and suddenly have a craving for water. "Pass me the water bottle?" You reach out a hand and one of your friends places it in your hand. "I still feel guilty as hell though." You mention after taking a couple sips.
Before you could spiral back into the guilt ridden speech, Woozi knocks on the front door.
"Who's that?" You whip your head around as (y/f/n) goes to answer the door.
She opens the door and reveals Woozi to the room and to you. As soon as you see him, you press your lips together to keep from saying anything about your earlier rant.
"You ready to go?" Woozi asks you, walking closer with a warm smile on his face. If you were sober you would've noticed the tinge of worry in his eyes but you were drunk so that detail went way over your head.
Not wanting to break your newly found code of silence, you simply nod your head though questions are flying through you mind.
Why is he here?
Where am I ready to go?
Is he taking me?
Are we all going together?
(y/f/n) hands Woozi your purse as you stand and walk to his side. Then he wraps an arm around your waist and leads you out of (y/f/n)'s place. You stumble here and there but are pretty stable when walking which brings some relief to Woozi.
"Did you have fun?" He asks you while waving down a taxi.
Again, in your code of silence, you just nod while focusing on staying standing and not letting your butt meet the concrete sidewalk.
Within seconds, a taxi pulls up and Woozi ushers you into the back seat before joining you and telling the driver an address. You're not sure if it's your address or his. If it's his then you're going to be going to an apartment with twelve other guys who will definitely never let you live this down. But that thought hasn't hit you yet.
You let your head fall onto Woozi's shoulder during the car ride and he lazily intertwines your hands together.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asks you quietly and you just nod your head truthfully.
"How much did you drink?" He continues to question you but you only shrug, staying silent.
Woozi chuckles, "(y/f/n) said that you were being chatty and ranting about something. But now you're all quiet."
Again, you just give him a small shrug as an answer.
"Just tell me if you don't feel good, okay?" He asks, concern now seeping into his voice slightly but again, it goes right over your head.
You nod your head and feel your eyelids become heavy. Guess the adrenaline only lasts while your friends are there to keep fueling it.
By the time the taxi stops and Woozi pays, you're about ready to fall fast asleep.
"Just a bit longer, (y/n)." He says and tugs you out of the taxi before closing the door and wrapping his arm around you waist again.
"I really don't want the other guys to see me." You suddenly spit out and Woozi walk falters ever so slightly.
"I wouldn't bring you back to the dorm." He explains, "(y/f/n) lives closer to your place anyway."
You gasp, "You know (y/f/n)?" You ask, shocked in your drunken state.
"We've met a few times and she called me tonight to come and pick you up." He explains.
"Why would she call you?" You wonder, "I was fine. We were all fine."
Woozi sees the tiny opening in the conversation and dives straight for it, too curious to be stopped. "Well, she said you were getting emotional."
You place a hand over your chest, "I was? No, I wasn't. I was just explaining how I feel bad because my boyfriend and his friends like to drink but I always end up being the sober one. And then my one friend had to mention games and then it only reminded me how my boyfriend - his name's Woozi by the way - my boyfriend always has to drink for me if we play games and how terrible I feel about it because he has to drink twice as much." You inhale dramatically after rushing the last bit as your breath ran out with it.
Woozi stays silent and internalizes your words. In all honesty, your soberness never bothered him. He didn't mind drinking for you since he had a pretty good tolerance and drinking for you allowed him to get to an enjoyable buzz quicker than if he was drinking for just himself. And again because of his tolerance, he never minded that you were sober. He was always essentially sober when his friends drank so it was nice to have you around as another sober person. Plus he knew you detested the feeling you got when you drank so he respected that and never tried to get you to drink.
"Heyyyyyy." You point to your front door, "This is the same number as my place! Has your place always been the same number as mine?" You ask, turning towards him with wide curious eyes.
Quickly unlocking your front door, he chuckles, "No, this is your place." He says and opens the door before you go bounding inside.
"Woozi! Look!" You exclaim, gesturing to your couch, "It's my COUCH! I sat right here while you and all your friends drank that one time." You plop onto the couch and groan while squeezing your eyes shut, "And I was the only sober one that time too."
Closing the front door, all Woozi can do is shake his head and chuckle at your current state.
-the next morning-
Rolling out of bed, a low throbbing in your head makes you groan. Stumbling towards the kitchen, your mind replays hazy dream like memories of you going over to (y/f/n)'s place, deciding to throw in the towel and drink, and drink some more, then Woozi showed up and brought you home where you think you screamed something about your couch before talking about being sober.
"You're awake." Woozi states the obvious as he stands next to the coffee maker, "I was just about to come and wake you up."
You give him a half smile, the most you can muster with your headache raging, "My head is killing me, do I have any painkillers or something?"
Woozi chuckles and points to the dining table where a large glass of water sits next to a napkin with two painkillers. "Way ahead of you. And drink the whole glass. It'll help."
You nod and pop the pills into your mouth before washing them down with the entire glass of water.
"Did I really drink that much last night?" You wonder and head into the kitchen to refill the glass.
"I don't really know how much you drank." Woozi admits while pouring out his coffee, "But yeah, I would guess it was a lot."
Leaning back against the counter, you let your head fall forward in dismay.
"Do you remember it?" Woozi asks, copying your position opposite of you.
You nod slowly, "It's foggy but I remember pretty much all of it, yeah."
"You want to talk about it?" He offers a small smile.
"Don't you have to get to work?" You wonder, looking over at the clock in concern.
Woozi shrugs his shoulders, "Work can wait for a little. Plus I don't technically have to be in for a few hours."
You sigh and purse your lips, "Why was I talking about being sober?" You ask, still curious as to why the word 'sober' kept appearing in your memories.
"Well, you kind of get emotional when your drunk, apparently. And last night, you kept ranting about how bad you felt that you are always the only one who's sober when we get together with my friends." Woozi fills you in and your face drops in embarrassment.
"Oh fuck me." You groan and rub your hands over your face. "Oh, god, that's, oh god."
Woozi walks up to you and pulls your hands away from your face, "You know it doesn't bother me right?"
Looking at him, you ask, "Being an emotional drunk or being the only one who doesn't drink?"
A light smile touches his lips before he answers, "Both. But I'm mostly talking about you being sober while my friends and I drink."
"Really?" You question him, "Are you sure it doesn't bother you?"
"Of course not." Woozi says, gripping your hands a little tighter.
"Even when they make you drink for me when we play games?" You ask, scrunching your lips together.
"Even when they make me drink for you." He repeats your words with a light tone, "It doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, sometimes I enjoy those times."
"You- why?" You stutter, curious.
"Because of my tolerance, on a normal night I can barely get a buzz enough to tolerate the others but on game nights, when I drink for you, I reach that comfortable buzz faster." He explains, "And then Dokyeom, Hoshi, and Dino become ten times funnier."
He chuckles and you try to control a smile by lowering your head down but a little giggle comes out anyway.
"But I already talked to the guys." Woozi continues which brings your head up to meet his gaze. "I asked them to quit it with the 'if you're playing a drinking game, you need to be drinking alcohol' rule. They said fine so when we play, you can sip whatever drink you want to."
"Why?" You ask, feeling gratitude to Woozi but also some confusion as to why he would do that.
"Cause I was starting to sense that it wasn't sitting right with you that I was drinking for you." He tells you, "Yes, I picked up on that. I'm your boyfriend, I could read you after like six months of dating."
"Damn, I guess I gotta get better at hiding my thoughts then." You joke and Woozi rolls his eyes.
"Good luck." He offers encouragement with a touch of sarcasm and you stick your tongue out at him.
But Woozi quickly wipes the scowl away with a soft kiss to your lips.
"Thank you for talking to the guys. You really didn't have to." You tell him with a grateful smile.
"I kind of had to. They really were being pushy with the whole thing." He says, matter-of-factly. "Hey, can I ask why you drank yesterday in the first place?" He wonders, wrapping your arms around his waist before placing his around your waist.
You shrug, "I guess I was kind of tired of being the sober one so I just grabbed a drink and drank it."
"But you hate how alcohol makes you feel." He reasons.
"I do. But I just was feeling so guilty about possibly being a downer cause I don't drink that I guess, I just didn't care last night." You explain and rest your head on his chest/shoulder. "And I don't think I'll do it again. I really hated the feeling. And my body got so red, I swear it looked like I was sunburnt."
"Ah, more like you had just belly flopped into a pool." Woozi corrects your simile and you shoot a look up at him.
"What?" He counters your look, "Someone had to get you into your pajamas and you were in no state to do it yourself."
You bury your face into his neck as a blush blooms on your cheeks.
Woozi laughs and hugs you closer, "It's okay, you were an adorable drunk. And by the way," He shuffles the two over to where you can see the living room and he points to the couch while laughing, "That is indeed your couch."

Tumblr media
Pairing: Daryl Dixon X Reader
Word count: 3 K
Summary: Daryl found you surrounded by the dead, stuck in the backseat of a car. You were wishing for death to take you away for quite a while now, but, as you slid back and forth into consciousness, there was only one thing keeping you alive. Him, the man with blue, worried eyes and kind voice. Your beaten up body was ready to give up, too wounded and broken to keep going. But this man, who went out of his way to save your life is the only thing in the world holding you up. And, because of him, you feel something you haven't felt in a very long time: hope. Wherever he's taking you, you want to get there, and not only to be buried. For what it feels like the very first time, you want to live. He takes you back to Alexandria, but even there, the nightmares and the terror from all the torture and pain you've been through keeps creeping closer, and Daryl, your hero, is the only one who can keep that all away.
Warnings: Mentions and description (not graphic) of past abuse; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); some violence at the end of the story (a little bit graphic, but not so much); blood.

Running Away
Twenty-one days. That's how long you've been in Alexandria. The days have fallen into a routine, slow, and filled with care. Daryl has been sleeping with you, and in the mornings you have your breakfast on the porch when it's sunny. Then, Carol helps you take a bath, changes the dressings of your wounds, and you're back in bed. You're speaking more with Carol, what makes her happy, you think. The wounds are still a problem. It still hurts a lot, but not as bad as before. And you're starting to get tired of staying in bed all day.
So today, after having your dressings changed and when Carol leaves, you stand up, eyes tightly closed to hold back the pain. Using the nightstand to support some of your weight, you move to the wall, using it to help you limp towards the door.
“Huh?” You hear a mumble.
“You're... Clean?” Carol asks, and you wonder what that's about. “You're clean.”
“I showered. What's the big deal?”
“Yes, you did... You showered yesterday too. And the day before...” As you reach the door frame, you try to understand what's this odd conversation between the two of them. “Actually, you've been showering daily for quite a while now. I wonder why–” She stops talking when you step outside, her eyes finding you.
Immediately, Daryl turns around, making his way over you. His eyes run through your body and you don't quite understand why he's cheeks are getting red. “What are ya doin’ up?” The moment he's close enough, you let go of the wall and hold on to him instead.
But Daryl acts weird, as if he didn't want to touch you. It makes you feel akward since you grew used to his touch. “What?” You ask, pulling away just enough to look down at your body, trying to see if there's anything in you that might have caused this reaction.
“Where are the rest of yer clothes?” He asks, trying to push you back into the room.
“This is what I usually wear.” Shrugging your shoulders, you take in the tank top and one of the lycra shorts Carol got you. It reaches about two inches above your wound, which means it barely covers your thighs. It never bothered you. Well, only when it's cold. “What's wrong with it?”
“Nothin’, nothin’.” He gives Carol an odd look before holding you again, his hands barely touching your sides. “Let's get ya back to bed.”
“No. I wanna go downstairs. I'm tired of being in the room.” You beg him, trying to resist as he pushes you back. “Please?”
“Put on somethin’ to cover up yer... Yer body. In case someone comes in.”
“I'll grab the blanket.” When you're about to move to get it, Daryl's moves first, taking the blanket and wrapping it around your shoulders, closing it on the front. He then picks you up, as he usually does to move you around, carrying you downstairs and carefully laying you down on the couch.
You quickly move into a sitting position as he settles down beside you. “Ya want anythin’?”
“I'm thirsty.” You don't want to keep asking people to get things. You want to go there and get them yourself.
“I'll get you some water,” Carol answers before Daryl can stand up.
She soon comes with your glass, and you drink half of it before handing over to Daryl, who puts it on the coffee table. Then, you move the blanket around, so it won't be a barrier as you lean on Daryl. But he flinches, seemingly uncomfortable. The way he moves away hurts you a little, and you sit up straight again, looking at him. “What is it, Daryl?” You ask, suddenly feeling odd, pulling the blanket so it'll cover your shoulders. “I just took a bath, I'm not dirty.” Your mind tries to find any other reason for Daryl to act like this.
“I know. Ya smell good, I jus’...” He moves a little, clearly nervous. “Yer using next to nothin’ and I don't wanna make ya feel uncomfortable.”
“I'm not feeling uncomfortable.” Furrowing your eyebrows, you try to understand what's the difference. You've been using this style of clothing since you got here. Denise told you not to wear anything that might squeeze the wound on your thigh, and Daryl has been sleeping on the same bed as you. Why is it different now? Then it clicks. He never really knew what was under the blankets you always have around you in bed. But you don't feel uncomfortable, not around Daryl. “I'm fine, truly.”
“Are ya?” He looks down at you after avoiding your gaze for a while. You wonder why he seems so embarrassed.
“Yeah.” Muttering, you give a quick glance at the kitchen, to make sure Carol isn't looking. Sometimes, she stands there, as if studying your interactions with Daryl, you're not sure why. You have the suspicion that she's actually studying his interaction with you. But she's not on your sight, probably at the sink or at the countertop making lunch. Turning your gaze at Daryl, you shrug your shoulders. “Can I?”
He breathes in deeply, and you see something snap in his eyes, like he's giving up trying to fight something. “C'mere, babygirl.”
You can't control the smile that comes to your lips as you lean on him again, carefully moving your legs up to the couch. “Daryl?”
“Huh?”
“Why do you call me babygirl?” You decide to ask, not because you don't like it, just because you really want to know.
He moves a little, restless again. There are a lot of things you still don't understand about Daryl, but you try to. “ ‘Cause yer young. And a girl.”
Doesn't make much sense, and it sounds like he just said the most obvious thing. “I'm not that young, Dixon.” It's weird how, all of a sudden, you don't want Daryl to see you as a kid. He does have to look after you, but it's just because your body is still broken... But you're getting better every day, and soon enough you'll be able to function like a normal person.
“Yer young compared to me.”
“You're not that old.”
“I am compared to ya.” He speaks fast as if he wants to shake this thought away.
Of the many things that have gone through your head since you spotted Daryl's blue eyes among the dead, age wasn't one of them. It's not like you haven't noticed the man is some, well, several years older than you, probably around two decades, but it was never important. You never thought this matter deserved attention. It doesn't change anything. “Uhm...” You mumble, an arm moving to hug his midsection.
“Shouldn't call ya that anyway.” He mutters, his chest vibrating under your head.
“I like it. I really do.” Daryl only calls you that when nobody else is around. When Carol or Denise are here, he always uses your name. And you like it. It's like a private thing, a secret.
Daryl only grunts in response, which makes you giggle. You both fall into a comfortable silence until Carol comes to the living room, sitting on the coffee and getting your attention.
“(Y/N), Maggie and Glenn got back from a run yesterday. They brought a wheelchair and I was thinking that maybe you could use it to take a tour around the neighborhood.” She says, glancing at Daryl and then at you. Walking it's still hard for your leg, and Denise still doesn't think you should try to. The stitches ripped twice after the first incident, and you're being extra careful now.
“I don't know.” The thought of going out there, where people will see you... You haven't stopped to think about it. Actually, you've been more comfortable with being inside the house.
“I'll be with ya. If ya feel like yer ready for it.” Daryl says, and it gives you just a little bit of courage.
“Do you think I should?”
“The group wants to meet you.” Carol answers. “They're curious about the girl Daryl cuddles with.” Her comment makes Daryl swift in his seat again, letting out a displeased grunt. “You will like them when you give it a chance. There's also Judith. That one will steal your heart in half a second.”
“Who's Judith?” You ask her.
“Rick's daughter,” Daryl says. “Lil’ Ass Kicker, three years of drivin’ Rick insane.”
“You have kids here?” You haven't seen kids since the world broke. Part of you thought it was better that way. Bringing a kid into the world as it is now is crazy. But here... Alexandria seems like a safe place. It seems like a good place to be if you want kids.
“A few, yes.” Carol states. “So? Can I have Maggie bring the wheelchair?”
Lifting your head a little, you give Daryl a glance. “It's yer call to make. Ya wanna go or not?”
“Only if I can meet Judith.”
“Alright then.” Carol stands up, clearly happy. “I'll get the chair and you put some clothes on because if you go out like that Daryl will certainly have a heart attack.”
“I would never go out like that.” You mutter, wondering what's the big deal with your clothes.
So you put on these loose sweatpants and a long-sleeved light blue shirt since the wind coming from your window is a bit cold. You're anxious when Daryl puts you in the chair, already outside. You can't help but look at the sides, suddenly aware of every human being here who's not Daryl.
“Ready?” He asks, and you almost say no. But you force yourself to nod, and he starts pushing the wheelchair.
You're shaking a little, hands clenched into fists. Maybe this was a bad idea, and everything you want is to get back to your bedroom, where nobody knows about your existence, where there's just you and Daryl and nothing else. People have been hurting you for too long, you don't think you can deal with them anymore.
“Ya ok down there?” Daryl's voice snaps you out, and you nod again. “Let's meet Maggie. She's the one who found ya this chair.” Daryl takes you near the walls that surround the city, tall and constantly under watch. He calls and the woman some feet away turns around. She's been talking to a small group of people, who also turn to look at you.
“Daryl.” She greets, leaving the others and walking over you. “And I believe this is (Y/N). I'm Maggie.” She reaches out her hand and you freeze, just looking at it. This is ridiculous. You shouldn't be out here. “Oh, it's alright.” Maggie retrieves her hand, giving you a small smile. “I've heard you've been through some tough times. I just hope you'll feel better now that you're here.”
Chewing on the inside of your cheek, you nod, trying to force some words out. “T-thanks for the chair.” You push out, hoping it'll be enough.
“No need to thank me. I just thought it would help you start getting to know the community.”
“Maggie!” Someone calls, and she turns on her heels to check it out.
“That one over there, in the blue T-shirt is Gleen, my husband.” She says. “Nice guy, judging by the fact I'm married to him.” She looks at you again. “Well, I gotta go. I hope this is not the last time I'll see you, (Y/N). Have a nice day.” With that, she waves and goes back to where she was as Daryl pushes you away, taking a different turn.
“She's nice.” You tell Daryl when you're far enough not to be heard.
“She is. You'll like her if ya give her the chance.”
You mutter in response, bouncing your leg a little. This place is amazing. Beautiful. It reminds you of simpler times when the dead used to remain that way. But the wall around you is a constant reminder of the dangers that must be kept outside.
Daryl introduces you to some people. You're happy you managed to say ‘hi’ and shake some hands, despite flinching away from their touch too quickly. He's very patient, pushing your around the town, using the least crowded streets. But half an hour later you're getting too restless, excited to go back home.
“I think I want to go back now.” You say when you see two people walking your way.
“What about Judith?”
“Oh...” You completely forgot about her. “Can we go now? Then back home.”
“Judith is Rick's daughter. Which means he'll probably be there.” Daryl warns you, changing direction. “Ya think ya can handle that?”
“Then we should just go back home.” You suddenly don't want to do it anymore. It's way too much for today.
“Listen.” Daryl stops, walking around the chair and crouching before you. “Ya trust me, don't ya?”
“I thought we reached this point where you don't have to ask me that because you know the answer.” Of course you trust Daryl. You'd put your life in his hands without thinking twice. You've already done that, actually.
“I know Rick reminds ya of one of those assholes, but he ain't like them. He's been with us for years. I trust him and so can ya.” One of his hands comes to touch your knee, and it makes you relax a little. “But I'll take ya back if that's what ya need. Not gonna push ya.”
Taking a deep breath, you nod, looking down. “Can't you... Can't you bring her to the house?” You're not ready, not yet. “I'd feel better there. Even if–Even if I have to meet this Rick.”
“Of course, baby–” Daryl clears his throat, shaking his head.
What's wrong with him today? “Babygirl.” You decide to finish it for him, reaching out your hand to touch his face. But Daryl stands up abruptly the moment your fingers connect with his cheek.
“Let's go.” He's soon moving you again, not saying anything else.
It takes five minutes or so until you're back home, feeling relieved to have these walls around you again. Daryl leaves you in the living room with Carol as he goes to get Judith. He takes a while, but you hear Judith before Daryl swings the door open.
“See that lady over there?” He says to the beautiful toddler in his arms. It's such a sight, seeing Daryl holding Judith. “She's dying to meet ya.” As he speaks, Judith's eyes find you and she smiles.
“Hi!” She mumbles, waving a tiny hand at you.
You didn't think you'd ever see a kid again. “Hi, Judith.” Daryl brings her to the couch, putting her down beside you. “How are you, little ass-kicker?”
“You goin to play with me?” She happily asks, reaching out her hand, which you hold, giving a little shake.
“Sure.” You can't help but smile. A smile that doesn't fades. This child is the exact opposite of everything you suffered. She's innocent, kind, and pure. “There's nothing here to play with.”
“Rick's bringin’ some–” He's cut off by a knock on the door. “That's him. ‘M gonna let him come in, is that alright?”
Holding your breath, you nod. As Daryl goes to open the door, you keep looking at Judith, the smile disappearing. “(Y/N),” Daryl calls as you see the two men moving to the living room. “This is Rick, Judith's father.”
“Hi, daddy,” Judith exclaims.
Slowly, you raise your eyes, sinking a little into the couch, as if it could put more distance between you and that man. “Hi.” You whisper, not sure if he can hear you, so you say it again. “H-hi. I'm (Y/N).”
“It's nice to meet you, (Y/N),” Rick says, exchanging a glance with Daryl. “I brought these blocks Judith likes.” He slowly steps forward, and you finally notice the box he's holding. He leaves it on the couch between you and his daughter before stepping back. “And I want to apologize for our first meeting. I didn't know... Well, I'm sorry.”
“It's ok.” The words are still getting caught in your throat. Rick does look like that man, but he isn't him. The beard is pretty much the same, but the eyes are different. More kind. But then again, some of them did seemed to be kind in the beginning. It didn't last long though.
Judith opens the box and starts taking all the colorful blocks out, throwing the empty box on the floor.
It's a weird feeling to do this. Playing with a kid, building houses and castles, imagining people living in them. The rest of the world goes away for a while, and you're surprised by the smiles that keep finding their way to your lips. Every time Judith says or does something, you can't help but be mesmerized. It makes you think that maybe, just maybe, sometime from now, you could have a kid of your own. You always wanted to be a mother, before the world came crashing down, but you haven't given it much thought about it after. It was useless anyway. There wasn't a place like this, safe, where you could fancy such possibilities...
Your eyes suddenly find Daryl, seated on the kitchen table talking to Rick. In the back of your mind, you wonder if Daryl ever thought about having kids too. He does seem to like Judith, and she likes him too. Like he's being called, he looks straight at you, and you sustain his stare for a while before Judith claims your attention.
Shaking your head lightly to push these thoughts away, something else comes. The way Daryl suddenly started acting weird. Earlier today on the couch, and when you touched his face. It doesn't matter how hard you try to understand him, you can't. You need to talk to him, to ask what's wrong.
Judith stays with you all day, only to be taken by her brother Carl when the night has already fallen. So you have dinner before going back upstairs, fixing the blankets around you, and waiting for Daryl. But after an hour, you wonder if he'll even come.
So you push all the blankets away, ignoring the cold that quickly creeps over your skin. By the time you reach the hall, you realize you don't know where Daryl's room is. Why didn't he come? He always does, you don't have to ask. Did he forget you? Is he mad or something? Using the walls to help you walk, you move down the hall, a low groan leaving your lips when a sharp pain spreads through your torso.
“What are ya doin’?” His voice comes from behind, so you stop, leaning against the wall. Daryl reaches you a couple of seconds later, and you're quick to notice how he holds both your arms, keeping a distance in between you. “Come. I'll help ya get back.”
“I'm alright.” You mutter as he easily picks you up again, carrying you back to bed.
“Ya still need to be careful.” He simply says, standing back up once you're comfortably lying down.
“Daryl, I need to talk to you.” Sitting back up, you decide to just say it, put the cards on the table.
“Ya need anythin’? I can get ya–”
“No, I... I just need to understand what's going on.” You didn't want to interrupt him, but you get the feeling he's trying to run from the conversation. “From this morning you've been acting weird, like... Like you're suddenly trying to avoid me...”
“Ain't tryin’ to avoid ya.” He shifts his weight from one leg to another, looking down.
“Yes, you are. Don't you...” Running a hand through your hair, you try to come up with the right words to describe something you don't know how to. “Don't you like it when I touch you? Don't you–”
“I'm goin’ on a run with Rick.” He bursts out, not allowing you to finish. “I'll be leavin’ tomorrow mornin’ an’ it'll take four or five days.”
He sounds mad, angry even... He told you he usually goes on runs, but he hasn't left since you got here. You never thought about this, having to deal with Daryl being... Somewhere else. “Daryl, why–”
“I gotta get my stuff ready.” He then turns around and walks away. “Have a good night.”
And he's gone. He's gone and the tears immediately start rolling down. You're lost, disoriented. A different pain makes pressure in your chest, crushing you, pushing you back into the bed. Something happened. You must have done something, even though you don't know what it was. Covering your mouth with one hand to hold the sobs that come, you wonder how are you supposed to do this.
How are you supposed to endure the night? How are you supposed to be without him? You're not ready yet. What if he doesn't come back? What if he gets hurt? What if he got tired of taking care of you day after day? What if he doesn't want you? Your touch, your hugs, you.
He's tired of you. This fragile, broken thing you are. He saved you, yes, but it doesn't mean he cares for you. Maybe you misread things, and your feelings blinded you. And maybe he doesn't feel anything for you. Only pity.

Y/n was always shy. She grew up quiet, she lacked presence. She never raised her hand—nor her voice. She was talked over and trampled on. She grew up with loving yet quickly fading grandparents. They tried to give her attention but the life was draining out of them and quite frankly they wanted to spend their last years in the arms of their loving spouse. She didn’t mind, she figured she would rather spend all of her remaining time with her significant other as well. Although she had always figured that something like that was nowhere close to her in the near future. Or further future to be honest. She was too shy and small in character to make a lasting impact on anyone, after all.
Falling in love with an immortal demon wasn’t something shy girls did. Outgoing girls did that, spontaneous and loud and adventurous. Those were the type of girls to experience this. Confident and sure of themselves. Shy girls met someone in a library, in a coffee shop, maybe on a park bench. Not in the woods at four a.m. sobbing about their grandparents death.
It was cold and dark and wet. Her face was wet from tears and wet from rain, her fingertips and lips were red and freezing, ready to burst. She couldn’t go back inside. Not yet, not now. It had been a week since their death, her grandpa dying of simply old age, her grandmother fading one hour after digesting the news and coming to terms with it. Her heart was simply too broken. Instantaneous heart failure. They left her everything. The car, the house, the money, the cat— their belongings. She didn’t want any of it right now. She had no other family, no close friends. She was simply not the type to make a lasting impact on someone.
She didn’t want to go back to that house. She didn’t want to see their things laying around, now her things. They were all she had, how was she supposed to go on, being alone? She hated being alone and lonely and alone. If anything, the woods behind her house was almost comforting. The feeling of being watched, which usually would give someone chills and paranoia—helped. She wasn’t alone, she would walk into that house and her grandparents would wave hello at her, they would be holding hands from their separate but close recliners, watching whatever new show they found interesting at the moment.
Obviously, that wouldn’t happen. But she still thought it, hoped. Which was why she couldn’t go back inside. It would make it too real, they wouldn’t be there, she would be truly alone. As long as she didn’t go inside to see for herself, they might be still sitting inside, waiting for her. So she couldn’t go inside, or they wouldn’t be there anymore.
It was colder then before, even though the rain had stopped. The grass was starting to freeze, the sun had gone down more than two hours ago. She sat still against a tree trunk, holding her knees to her chest. She was tired, it was cold out here. She didn’t know if her fingers were still red or if they had turned blue. She didn’t have enough energy to check. Animals scurried around her, as if they knew she wouldn’t do them any harm. They knew she was incapable, so they ignored her and roamed around freely.
Her eyes were closing and opening, closing and opening, over and over and over again. Her head swayed, but she fought to stay up. Would her grandparents still be there if she fell asleep? She didn’t know, so she fought to stay awake. Her body won over her mind however, and soon her body slumped over as she hit the ground, her arms still curled into herself.
🔪Eyeless’s P.O.V🔪
I felt kinda bad. I mean, this girl was just sitting in my woods crying while it was raining. Watching her felt like an invasion of privacy...but then again she was in my woods. It was only fair that I watch her to make sure she didn’t get into any trouble. How did she even get in? It seems that tall prick needs to up his game.
I was patient. I had lived a very long time, I had an endless amount of time to do whatever I wanted. I knew that waiting for someone or something meant nothing. However I did worry about her time. How long had it been? I figured pretty long when she slumped over onto the icy grass, sound asleep. Humans felt temperature, didn’t they? She would get hypothermia if this continued. I had already eaten. I wasn’t hungry. Being feral every once in a while really made you full as hell for a few weeks. The thought of more food grossed me out considering I had eaten so much. She was safe, for now. If she ever came in my woods again however, I wouldn’t be too sure.
So in a moment of rare kindness for something like me, I dropped down from my tree and crouched to get a good look at her. Was she a run-away? She looked young but...I sifted through her pockets. An old tattered wallet. She had a driver’s license, not that much else. Then again I didn’t really look, just wanted to find an ID of some sort. She was an adult. So homeless? No. She didn’t look it. So just having a mental breakdown? probably. I picked her up, and felt the cold in her skin. It didn’t affect me but it certainly made me worried-ish for her.
I didn’t know where to take her. Where did she live, where did she come from? I couldn’t just take her with me, could I? No, definitely not. She would scream and argue and thrash as soon as she saw me. Well, I guess I could just say I was a cosplayer. Of some...random obscure villian or something. If she didn’t believe it and thrashed and screamed then I would just kill her. Easy. Take her home, warm her up, take her back to her home, done and easy. I hadn’t done something this kind for someone I considered my food in a very long time.
I adjusted her in my arms, trying not to press on her her or hold her too tight. Trying to hold back strength was not something I had done in an even longer time, and I was not used to it. I’m not sure how long it took to get there, but halfway I noticed the blue of her lips. I took off my sweatshirt and pulled it on over her head, not bothering to stick her arms through. She would retain more heat that way anyways. I’m not sure if i’m warm or cold, so it was a gamble to hold her closer to my chest. I did so anyways and started to jog, wanting to get there before she died.
When we got there I immediately turned on the heat. My house had many functions I didn’t use, although it seemed they finally had a use. I closed all the windows and doors, and grabbed a few blankets the previous (now long dead—like over 100 years dead) home owners had owned and kept in a spare closet. I laid her on the couch, although I wondered if my bed would work better for retaining heat. I figured there was no difference and kept her there, laying blankets on her. She would probably need a warm bath, but I figured she wouldn’t want me to stick her in there for fear of her wet clothes. I didn’t see an issue with undressing her but I vaguely recalled a moment when I walked in on Jane showering. I didn’t see an issue, she hit me with every bottle in there.
I wasn’t sure of what else I could do for her, so I ended up sitting in front of her on the couch. It was a few hours before she woke up, but I was patient. I have time. I wondered if I would have to kill her or not. I wouldn’t want to eat her, so it would be a waste.
🔪Third person P.O.V🌸
She had a short dream. Grey skin, navy blue, hot tar leaking out of holes in the wall, screaming. A lot of fire and singing. Then she didn’t dream at all. When she woke up, she was surprisingly comfortable. Her back hurt a little, and was a little cold, her hands were a bit numb, and she was sleeping on a soft yet bumpy surface. She liked being wrapped in these blankets, but she couldn’t seem to free her hands. They were trapped in something and she was far too weak to move them very much. He was surprisingly amused. She didn’t seem to know what was restricting her arms, and she didn’t seem all too panicked.
He thought her look of frustration was funny. They made eye contact. Kinda. They talked, although they don’t really remember what about. It took a long time, they weren’t sure how long, but eventually they entered a mutual relationship. Falling in love with immortal demons wasn’t something shy girls did.
Yet here she was. Her head in the lap of an immortal demon who she was in fact in love with. She never did end up going into that house, she tried. She tried and tried but the thought of her grandparents not being there when she walked in always stopped her. She always somehow found her way back to Jack’s house. Over and over and over and over again. Somehow she found her way into his lap. He absentmindedly played with her hair, not sure of what was happening on the Tv. He only installed it because she was always bored when he was gone. He didn’t mind the noise, as long as it wasn’t too loud.
He wasn’t sure how long it had been since he had last gone ‘feral’. It seemed crude to call it that, but technically that’s what he did. He planned on never getting into that state as long as Y/N was alive. Or at least around him. He hadn’t eaten in a week. He grimaced, knowing his last helping shouldn’t even of lasted him this long. He needed to go. He needed to hunt. But she seemed so content in his lap, and he knew he wouldn’t turn for at least another week if this continued. He had time. He could let her stay like this. She yawned, and looked up at him, smiling sweetly. He was sure he could feel his chest warm up his entire body.
She sat up and turned to lift up his mask, pecking him lightly on the cheek and giving another sweet smile. He never thought of humans as sweet creatures. But the woman in his lap was very sweet. Sweeter than any human he’d ever killed and tasted. Sweeter than the sugar water BEN had forced down his throat once. She was soft and quiet, until she opened her mouth. She had a lot to say then. He had time. He could listen. He could be patient. He would always be patient with her.
He wasn’t so sure how patient he’d be if he went feral. But swiped that thought out of his head. He wouldn’t go feral. He would hunt tomorrow—that’s what he decided. Sure she’d be by herself for a day or two but she knew the drill. He’d feel a bit bad as she clung to him, hopping he wouldn’t leave. A little guilty as he walked away from her as she held back tears. But she knew the drill.
He sometimes forgot that she didn’t have as much time as him. Forgot that one day she would leave this world and her human body would rot and decay into nothingness. She wouldn’t be sweet anymore. She’d be bones that he’d bury under a tree or some shit. He would pass her grave in a thousand years and he might not remember her voice by then. That thought sent him spiraling.
She would die. She was human. One day her life would end. The thought of him forgetting her voice, the way her kisses taste so sweet, the feel of her hands in his hair as a tv he didn’t give two fucks about droned on in the background. He didn’t want to forget. He never wanted to forget how warm her body was, the only temperature he’d ever actually felt. The only thing he’d ever actually love.
He didn’t want to leave her anymore. He hated leaving her. He’s never loathed anything more than being apart from her and knowing that while he was away, she was aging. She would grow old. Her bones would become brittle, and her eyesight would leave her. He would lose her and have to bury her in the ground. Cover her in dirt while bugs chewed at her corpse.
But he had to go. Or he would lose her even earlier, to himself. That would be unbearable. He would never be able to live thousands of more years peacefully if that happened. He might get over it, after how long. That made him hate himself. He looked down at her, her eyes trained to the Tv ahead of them. He leaned down to kiss her forehead, and when he pulled back she pushed foreward and caught him by the mouth. He couldn’t help but think about how sweet she was.
She pushed him back even farther, and he let her. Her hands pulled him closer, as close as he could get. She would never get enough of him, of how soft he was. His skin was soft, and so was his mouth. She was sure he’d never picked at the skin there like she had. A bad habit that made her lips bleed and harden. It made her self conscious, but Jack never seemed to mind. She was glad. She wasn’t expecting him to pull away and pull off his shirt. Sure, they’d gotten showers together and all that, but that wasn’t an action with sexual intent behind it. They’d never gotten that far. She assumed he never wanted it, or that she wasn’t desirable. Or maybe demon-like creatures like him just weren’t into things like that.
Him pulling her into his lap seemed to tell her otherwise. She wasn’t sure what to do with her hands. Her mind was a mess. Were they about to have sex? Did he want it? Did she want it? Of couse she did. But did he? Her hands shook, so she gripped his arms, a bit embarrassingly. He probably noticed. He kissed her forehead, sweetly.
“Do you want to?”
She practically gulped. She was incredibly nervous, and her anxiety kept reaching new heights. She’d never even kissed someone before Jack came into her life. She had never been close enough to a person before. This went from 0-100 in minutes. She nodded anyways, but he didn’t seem to believe her.
“Are you sure? You look pale. We don’t have to. We can just go back to cuddling and watching Tv. Okay?”
“No, i’m just nervous. I’ve never done any of this.”
“That’s okay. I don’t think I have either.”
“You don’t think?”
“I don’t remember much of my human life. I might’ve, but who knows?”
That made her laugh a little, even though it was a bit sad. She felt better, but was still nervous. What if He didn’t like her body, or he was grossed out by it? When was even the last time she shaved literally anything on her body? Probably at least a week or two. She was sure he’d find that disgusting.
“We really don’t have to. Especially if you don’t want to.”
“I do want to. But I also haven’t shaved it a while.”
He wanted to laugh at that. That was her reason? He thought it was silly, but if it was serious for her then he’d try to take it seriously too.
“I don’t care about things like that.”
“I haven’t gotten a shower.”
“I don’t care about that either, but if getting a shower and whatever else would make you feel more comfortable then you can do that, obviously. But I really, really, don’t care about any of that stuff.”
“Are you sure?”
“I am positive. It seems a bit shallow to really care about something like that. And I honestly find you beautiful no matter what form to appear in. I would still love you just the same if you were covered in dog shit. I wouldn’t fuck you until you got a bath...but I would still love you.”
He felt like she needed just the right amount of love and validation from him to feel more confident, and he hoped he was making her feel better.
“I love you.”
He smiled at her and replied back with, “I love you too.”
He decided not to add ‘more’ or they would get into a full verbal war over who loved and missed who more. It was endearing to watch her fight over it so seriously, but tiring when it went on for more than thirty minutes.
He kissed her forehead again, waiting for her to make the next move. He wouldn’t do anything if she didn’t want him to something. He tried to be gentle and caring with her at all times, even if he didn’t know what he was doing. Even if it was the opposite of his nature.
She moved a bit cautiously, and he thought it was cute. Her mouth caught his, and he let her lead. He didn’t exactly know what he was doing anyways, so he figured he might as well go with it. She never sped up, so he didn’t either. She pulled off her clothes slowly, and still a bit nervously. He asked her again if she was sure. And she said yes, and kissed him harder.
He waited till she seemed more comfortable, then picked her up and carried her to the bed. The couch looked uncomfortable to her, and he didn’t want that to be a factor in her nervousness. She felt so soft, and he briefly wondered what he did to deserve this. This sweetness.
She held him closer to her, wrapping her legs against his waist. She had the quick thought that even his waist was perfect, and that that wasn’t really fair. His grey skin somehow made him even prettier, and she continued to think that through the whole night. He was gentle with her, even at the cost of his own pleasure. To him, it was worth everything and more to see her writhe under him, gripping onto him like there was no tomorrow. Her nails dug into his back, and she apologized profusely afterwards, even though he absolutely loved it.
He wanted to watch her move like that everyday for the rest of his never ending life. He only focused on her, and the faces she made. She would try to hide her face in his shoulder, or with a hand, but he always pulled it away so he could see. He kissed her everywhere, touched her everywhere, and she returned the favor, even though they really both had no idea what they were doing at first. It was endearing to watch her do her best for him, and Jack thought he’d never need anything else if only he could have her forever.
One day, she would turn to ash. But until then they would spend every moment they had together loving each other beyond comparison. He would spend his every waking moment living for her, until she would live no more.

2 soon | the reaper
Limping down the street, the streetlamps being the only source of lighting, Wonwoo’s mind couldn’t help but wander. There were no cars going by at this time of night, not even a cool breeze to listen to the shaking leaves in the trees. The street was dead silent other than his heavy footsteps as he tried to make it home on his own. He was sure God or whatever higher power out there was out to get him lately since on top of everything else, his car had broken down and he was left to walk the rest of the way after calling Mingyu to make sure someone would get the car.
Had anyone been walking around this time of night, they’d probably call the police seeing Wonwoo awkwardly walking down the street with his hurt leg. Despite the nice suit, it was unbuttoned, slightly torn, and stained with splatters of blood. His white shirt underneath was half undone and splattered with blood as well, his tie was hanging loosely around his neck, his hair was disheveled, his right eye was beginning to bruise, and the left corner of his lip was caked with dried blood. There was a trail of dried blood going from his nose to his top lip as well, and his tired expression only added to his awful appearance.
“Oh my god, Wonwoo!” you gasped when you spotted him from the window, Joshua and Minghao rushing out behind you.
It was one of the first times he’d come home beaten up. You didn’t know about his line of work when you’d first started dating, but when it began to become more serious, he had to break and tell you. Finding out your boyfriend was in the mafia worried you for obvious reasons, to a point where for a while, two of the men he worked with had to stay at the house with you to make sure you didn’t go off trying anything stupid. But you did often pace the kitchen, checking out the window that faced the street to see when his car pulled in. And one night, you saw him be helped out of the car by Seungcheol because Wonwoo was so beaten up.
“It’s okay, baby,” he reassured you as you rushed to him.
“Careful, careful,” Seungcheol warned, not wanting you to throw yourself into him or anything. Jeonghan had just stitched up his gunshot wound, but Wonwoo made him swear not to tell you that much.
“What happened?” you asked, looking him over. He looked about as messy as his clothes, and that was saying something since he was missing his jacket he left the house with, and his shirt was barely hanging onto his body by thin threads. You moved to Wonwoo’s other side, putting his arm around your shoulders. “I’ve got him.”
Seungcheol carefully leaned your boyfriend’s weight onto you, letting you practically carry the poor man inside. Wonwoo managed to smirk at how worried you were. He knew it just meant you cared, and that meant the world to him.
“You’re so cute,” he chuckled, which then turned into coughing that only worsened your anxiety about his injuries. “Let the boys handle it, okay? I’ll be fine.”
You scoffed, “Not a chance.”
Wonwoo pulled a carton of cigarettes from his pocket, taking a cigarette and a lighter out from the pack. He put it between his lips and lit the end before taking a long drag and letting the smoke waft out from his mouth. His eyes locked on the driveway of his house as he recalled how many times you’d dragged him inside, sat him down on the couch or leaned him up against the sink in the kitchen and patched him up. He smiled fondly, remembering all the times you’d scolded him for so long until you were just repeating yourself, only to sigh and say, “You know I love you, right?”.
But now, he walked up the driveway alone. Despite his limping, there was nobody to carry him home. He had to push himself up the steps, pausing on each one to brace himself for the next. He walked into the house, expecting the echo of his footsteps that he was used to even during your relationship, but not used to the emptiness he felt in the house. At least when his shoes would hit the hardwood as he walked to the bathroom to clean himself up, he knew you were upstairs. But now, he knew he was the only one in the house, and that was a new feeling. A new but vaguely familiar feeling of being alone. He was alone before you, but he was so accustomed to your presence that he forgot what it was like to not have anybody there when he came home.
“Wonwoo--”
“Go back upstairs,” Wonwoo huffed, trying to get to the basement while Junhui and Mingyu helped him.
This time it was worse. You were used to him coming home later, so you no longer wasted an hour or two pacing by the kitchen window, but instead waited until you heard the heavy sound of his boots against the hardwood in the hallway, going toward either the kitchen or the bathroom. He wasn’t always hurt, but this time, he was in worse shape than he’d let you know. That was why there were more men with him.
“But--”
“_____,” he growled, his eyes glancing up at the stairway you were now frozen on. He’d used this voice before -- only a handful of times to show he was serious and didn’t want to fight you on whatever it was -- but it always made you freeze completely where you were. “Go.”
Mingyu and Jun continued to help him to the basement, Seungcheol and Soonyoung following behind them. You waited until you heard the basement door close before dropping your head and going back up the stairs to your room.
Glancing away from the staircase, Wonwoo continued down the hall to the kitchen. He grabbed the bottle of bourbon he left unfinished on the counter before going for the basement door. He threw it open, not bothering to close it behind him because there wasn’t a point to anymore. He was lucky he managed to get down the stairs without falling down them before he went over to his little corner where his desk was. They’d used the basement for plenty of things before, but it was mostly where he kept his ‘business things’. That’s why you weren’t to go down there -- not that that didn’t stop you from checking on Wonwoo from time to time when he had locked himself away down there.
Wonwoo flopped down in his chair, opening the bottle and taking a swig. He stared across the room, trying to grasp the reality that he was alone in the house. He wasn’t sure when it would finally sink in, but it hadn’t yet. It had been a month and he still had himself thinking he could hear your footsteps as you tried to sneak downstairs to check on him, or the shower running with your soft singing drifting from under the door. But the harsh truth was that you were gone an he was just imagining these things.
At first when he got home, you were the first thing he would check on. He wanted to know about your day, what you did, how you were feeling. He was grateful when you had dinner made for him -- even if it was cold by the time he got home -- and loved relaxing on the couch or in bed with you when he got home. But he slowly started seeing you less and less. He didn’t see you most days at all, so you looked forward to the nights. But more often, he started politely turning down dinner to go the basement -- that eventually turned into straight-up ignoring it to go do more work at his desk. Instead of checking up with you, he started going straight to the bathroom to clean himself up before silently grabbing a small snack and retreating to the basement until you were already fast asleep and he was crawling into bed for 2-3 hours of sleep. It got to a point where you barely saw Wonwoo at all.
And as Wonwoo took another drink right after letting out more cigarette smoke, he knew it was all his fault. He got too caught up in his job. He loved you, but he didn’t realize he wasn’t showing it like he should’ve. He made you feel unloved and forgotten and overlooked. It wasn’t a 50/50 situation, it was 100% his fault that you left him.
He put out his cigarette in his ash tray and eyed the bottle before he put his feet up on his desk and took a longer drink this time.
-
“Wonwoo,” he heard your voice in his ear, trying to shake him awake after another late night. But he had the day off today, and you were excited to spend every moment with him that you could. “Wonwoo, wake up!”
A smack to his cheek had his eyes shooting open as he let out a gasp.
“Jesus Christ, Wonwoo,” Mingyu breathed, sitting back as he realized the older man was awake, “I thought you were fucking dead. How much did you drink?”
Considering the slap Mingyu gave him didn’t hurt as bad as the metaphorical slap that his awful reality gave him, clearly not enough.
“None of your business,” Wonwoo slurred as he struggled to keep his eyes open, definitely hung over from drinking until he passed out -- again.
“You need to stop doing this,” the younger boy sighed, giving Wonwoo a stern look, “not even just because Seungcheol’s fed up with it, but because it’s not healthy.”
“What does it matter?” he grumbled, refusing to get up. Instead, his hand searched the floor for his bottle of alcohol.
“Will you stop with that shit? Come on, Wonwoo, _____ leaving doesn’t mean the end of the world!”
“Have you ever been in love?”
When Mingyu was silent, Wonwoo scoffed, “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“Well it was still your own fault she left you,” Mingyu stated, rolling Wonwoo onto his back with his shoe. “You said it yourself, so you can’t say it’s not true. You neglected her and now you’re throwing yourself a pity party when you did it to yourself.”
“Get out of my house,” Wonwoo groaned, deciding to cover his ears instead of search for the bottle of bourbon.
“You’ve been pulling this shit every fucking day for a month,” Mingyu spat, ignoring how obviously annoyed Wonwoo was getting. Everyone was annoyed with Wonwoo’s behavior so this was only fair. “Someone always has to waste their time and come here to make sure you didn’t drink yourself dead.”
“Then stop checking!” Wonwoo shouted, finally peeling his eyes open to glare up at Mingyu. “Go the fuck away!”
“Leave me the fuck alone!”
As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he wanted to take them back. You stood in front of his desk, your own angry expression dissipating and being replaced with hurt instead. The two of you had been arguing because he’d been so distant, and while you understood that the basement was where he got more work done, you didn’t see the need for him to continue working when he was away ‘working’ all day. But his anger bubbled over and now he’d crossed the line.
“Wait, _____--”
You just shook your head at him, eyes filling with tears as you rushed to go back upstairs. Wonwoo called for you to come back, but you just ignored him, slamming the basement door closed. Wonwoo groaned and sat down in his chair, rubbing over his face with his hands.
That was definitely the biggest push for you to leave.
And now here he was, in the same room his life started falling apart. Why couldn’t he wake up to you like he thought he was? Better yet, why couldn’t he wake up and have everything just start over? He wanted to go back to when things were good and he wanted to keep them that way. But life didn’t work that way. It couldn’t just reset, it just kept going.
But Mingyu had to be a nuisance and interrupt Wonwoo’s dreams where everything was actually going well and he was happy.
Mingyu sighed, taking a seat in Wonwoo’s desk chair. He rested his elbows on his knees, running his hands through his hair. Why did Seungcheol have to send him to check up on Wonwoo? Why not Seungkwan or Seokmin? Somebody who had people they loved and could relate to Wonwoo? No offense, but Mingyu didn’t give two shits about Wonwoo’s broken heart.
“Look,” Mingyu said a bit softer, trying to be more level-headed about this, “I get you’re upset and you’ve never had to deal with heartbreak so you don’t know how to cope. But with this kind of...lifestyle, you should really need to come to terms with the fact that nothing will ever really go the way you planned it to.”
“That isn’t good advice,” Wonwoo sighed, not even trying to sit up. His eyes had even closed again, so Mingyu knew the older man didn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon. “Just go.”
Mingyu stood, rolling his eyes and fixing his suit jacket, “Seungcheol’s going to be pissed, y’know.”
“Good for him.”
“Whatever,” Mingyu sighed. “I’ll send Seungkwan tonight to make sure you haven’t slipped into a coma or something.”
Wonwoo only hummed in response, waiting until he heard the Mingyu’s footsteps go up the stairs before closing the basement door. Then he finally pushed himself up off the floor, stumbling the whole time. But it was only to retrieve the bottle of bourbon with only a little left at the bottom. So he took the bottle, wobbled his way up the stairs to the kitchen to get another, and then carried on to the living room, finishing off the first bottle.
“Well, well, well,” you grinned seeing Wonwoo emerge from the basement. He was still in his ‘work’ clothes, but everything was undone to make it a little more comfortable for him since he was at home, “look who decided to show up.”
“What’re you watching?” he mused as he wandered into the living room and glanced at the TV. “Wheel of Fortune?”
You shrugged, “It’s 2am.”
“Eh, it’s not the worst show,” Wonwoo sighed as he let himself drop back onto the couch beside you. He normally would’ve scolded you for staying awake so late, but it was a Friday night so he couldn’t give any excuses as to why you needed to be in bed. Besides, he wanted to hang out with you for a bit before he was way too exhausted. “Did you eat?”
“Yeah,” you nodded, shifting so you were leaning into your boyfriend’s side.
You kept your eyes on the TV, playing along like you had been before. You still continued to say your answers out loud despite Wonwoo sitting right there, but he merely chuckled. He thought it was kind of cute.
You were so immersed in the show that you didn’t even feel his gaze on you for the last five minutes.
“_____.”
“Hmm?”
You turned your head to look at him, seeing him smiling at you with so much fondness.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Wonwoo opened the second bottle as he stared at the TV, his reflection in the black screen reminding him that he was alone -- not just on the couch, but completely, utterly alone.
He put the bottle to his lips.

Will we ever be more than friends? Part 3
A/N this is crazy! Here is part 3 that many were asking for! This is a continuation of one the first pieces I wrote on here. Tysm for the support xxx
It’s been four years since Y/N broke her friendship off with Harry. How is she going to react after seeing him at their high school reunion and finding out he’s still in love with her?

Part 1, Part 2
4 years later...
“Y/N, you made it!” Sarah hugs me as she greets me at the front door. It’s been 4 years since I’ve seen her and truthfully, I wouldn't be here tonight if it wasn’t our little mini high school reunion. I never knew this party was happening well, not until Kacey, my only friend I still talk to from high school reached out and convinced me.
“Your apartment looks lovely!” I smile as she lets me in. I take my jacket off and rest it on one of her hooks as I step further inside.
“Thank you!” Sarah’s eyes light up with excitement as she takes my hand.“ I didn’t invite everyone from our year.,just to let you know! I only invited our friend group.” she rambles while she drags me where most of the people are.
Sarah. I liked her in high school. We had a couple classes together and we did hang out at the mall a couple times but things got awkward when she started dating Harry. After they broke up, she never reached out to me again and that's when I realized she was just using me.
People say high school is the most memorable time of their life but for me, I was traded the wrong deck of cards.
“Y/N!” Kacey stands up from the couch to hug me. I almost fell over from the amount of force she had. “I knew you would come!”
“Well, you did present a good case.” I smirk as Tyler opens a can of smirnoff ice and passes it to me. “Thanks, Ty! You look good.” I pull away from Kacey and hug him. Alice, and Joseph were there too as they greeted me with a hello and sat back down on the couch.
“Okay, we’re missing one more person from our lil friend group.” Sarah pouts and texts someone on her phone. I knew she was talking about Harry but for some reason, I was hoping it was someone else.
“H. Man! Where is that guy?” Joseph takes a handful of chips from the bowl presented in front of us.
“Wait, didn’t you and Harry date?” Alice calls me out as I take a sip from my drink. I just shake my head and lean on Kacey beside me. She knew what happened between us that night but no one else heard a thing.
But it’s simple really, if I were to tell them the story. Harry and I were best friends. I was in love with him and he knew. He continued to string me along for years and that’s when I decided we should stop being friends. I’m not gonna lie though, it was pretty rough to see him during graduation and not even get a picture with him.
“That’s crazy! Everyone at least had a date with him.” Alice laughs as Joseph puts his arm around her.
“Well, what’s also crazy is that you’re dating me.” Alice kisses him on the cheek. I never expected them to get together. Alice hated him since he was such a class clown. It’s nice to see him more mature and finally dating her though.
“Ah he’s here! I heard he got more cuter!” Sarah puts on a playful face as she hops off the couch to open her door. The rest of our friends cheered for Harry’s entrance while I stayed quiet just looking at Kacey. My heart was beating way too fast and my fingers were gripping my drink a little bit too hard. But as much as I tried to ignore my anxiety, Sarah appeared right in front of us.“Ladies and gentlemen let me announce the heartthrob of our year... Harry Styles!” Alice  and Kacey cheer excitedly as the boys playfully cat whistle. Sarah moves aside, and that’s when my eyes catch his figure.. there he is. He’s finally here.
He’s wearing a simple white button up and black jeans. As he looks up, he has a little smirk on his face as he bows his head to everyone as a playful gesture of appreciation. “Heard everyone’s been looking for me.” He glances at me and looks away. He doesn’t even seem affected that I’m here! He goes around kissing the girls on the cheeks and giving some hugs to the guys. I knew he was purposely ignoring me, since he wanted to greet me last.
“Hey.” He murmurs against my cheek as he leans down to kiss me.
“Hey. Long time no see.” I lean over to give him a hug.
“Are you two seriously going to act like that?” Tyler teases us. “You guys were best friends for 10 years!” Sarah laughs at Tyler’s joke as she comes with pizza in her arms.
“Kace, can you clear the table?” She asks politely as she puts the pizza down. “Wow, I haven’t seen you guys in 4 years. Time passes by so quickly.”
“I know right!” Alice cheers excitedly. “Now, we’re all about to graduate university!”
~
The night went by in a breeze. After dinner, we played some board games and caught up with each other. Now it was only Harry and I left to share what we’ve been up to.
“I’ve been good. I don’t think there’s anything new with me.” Harry casually laughs as he sits across from me beside Tyler.
“Come on man! Look at what you’re wearing! You’re a new guy!” Tyler elbows him which makes Harry look up at me. Fuck, he just caught me staring.
“I’ve been working at my dad’s company that’s all. Trust me nothing new!”
“No new girlfriend?” Sarah teases him. He just shakes his head and takes a sip from his bottle of beer. “What? No, come on you aren’t fooling anyone here!” Sarah tries to pull the truth out of him. It seemed to me she was a little bit too interested in what he had to say which made me just roll my eyes.
“I dated a few girls but no nothing serious.” Tyler cheers him on as he puts his arm around him and smiles.
“See! Too young to settle down!” Kacey just laughs while Joseph shakes his head.
“Tyler, you just haven’t been in love yet!” He tries to reason. “Harry, you probably haven’t been in love too huh?”
“Oh, no I have been.”
“What!” Tyler chokes as Joseph louds out loud. Alice and Sarah are shocked while Kacey and I just smile at their reaction and quietly listen.
“Who was it?” Tyler questions. “Some girl from your uni?”
“No, she went to high school with us.” Harry avoids my eye contact and laughs at Tyler’s curiosity.
“That better not be me, Styles.” Sarah takes another slice of our leftover pizza. Kacey looks at me while I just look down. Why does everything have to be so weird?
“I bet it’s Y/N. Remember how they would cuddle all the time!” Alice speaks out as if she just solved the puzzle. Which she did. Everyone looks at me which makes my little invisible bubble pop.
“No, it’s not me.” I shake my head. I don’t wanna think of it. I don’t want to think of this.
For the rest of the night, the guys try to make Harry tell the truth but he keeps his mouth shut. I tried to have fun despite all the attention on him but, now that our hangout is over, it’s time to go home.
“I’ll see you guys four years from now!” I joke as I put on my jacket.
“Y/N seriously, keep in touch. We miss you.” Alice hugs me.
“I miss you guys too. It’s nice catching up with you guys.” I genuinely reply back. Although I stopped talking to everyone here, I do miss them. It's nostalgic.
“How are you getting home?” Joseph asks me as he puts on his jacket too.
“Just taking an uber, my car’s in the shop.”
“I can ask Josh to drop you off?” Kacey suggests but I rather be on my own than let her fiancé go out of his way for me.
“I can drive you home.” Harry opens the front door.
“No, guys it’s okay.” I try to brush them off but Harry softly grabs my hand as he bids everyone goodbye.
“Okay, Y/N and I are going to go, goodnight guys!” He waves at our friends as he pulls me to his car. I give everyone a confused look and let Harry pull me away.
“Harry, you don’t have to drop me off.” I try to convince him but he doesn’t let my hand go until he opens my door and helps me into his car. I finally give up and put my seatbelt on as he gets into his seat too.
“Where do you live?” He asks as he zooms out of Sarah’s driveway.
“In Richmond.”
“Can you put the address on my GPS?” He turns it on and points it at me. It was weird between us. There’s this big elephant between us but we’re acting like we’re over it. I just nod my head and do it.
As we drive to my place, I just watch the street lights pass by and listen to his music. Harry seemed like something was bothering him since he kept his jaw clenched. “You okay?” I try to ask him.
“Fine. What about you?”
“I’m okay.”
“Look Y/N...I’ve just been thinking and I’m wondering when we get to your place... could we maybe I don’t know...talk?”
“About us?” There was no point of acting oblivious to this. What happened between us years ago still plays in my mind.
“Yeah.” He stutters as he looks at me.
~
“Lovely townhouse you got here.” He walks in with me as I open my door.
“Thanks, I got a few roommates but they’re probably in bed. Um, You can sit in the living room.” I gesture him to the room as I take my jacket off. “Would you like some tea?”
“No, thanks.” He sits down while I sit next to him.
“Okay, let’s talk. What’s up?” “How have you been?”
“Good, what about you?”
“Thanks. I’ve been doing well too. Are you um...seeing anyone?” He asks out of the blue. “It’s just everyone spoke up about their love lives and you didn’t really say anything.” I awkwardly laugh at his question. I mean I’m not surprised he asked out of the blue. We used to be so close.
“No, I broke up with my boyfriend a couple months ago.”
“Long term?” “Yeah, we dated for 2 years.”
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear about that.” He just shakes his head while I laugh at his awkwardness.
“Harry, it’s fine. It’s nice to see you through and catch up.”
“Y/N I have- I have to tell you something.”
“Okay.” I try to brace myself. I may have known him for years but I have no idea what he’s going to say.
“I miss you.”
“Harry.”
“Please, Y/N. Just give me another chance.” He turns towards me. “I’ve been trying to talk to you after our fight but you just completely cut me off.”
“You used me!” I exclaim.
“You don’t understand. I didn’t want to lose you!” He rubs his face in stress. “And I did. I did lose you!”
“Why do you even still want me? It’s been four years Harry maybe, it’s better if we just let the past go.” I stand up and try to walk away but Harry grabs my hands and keeps me in between his legs.
“You don’t mean that, Y/N.” his sad eyes look at me. “I miss you. Didn’t you miss me too?” he whispers as he tries to shake my hands. He was desperate for me to say the words he missed coming from my mouth. “Of course I did!”
“I don’t care if you don’t love me anymore or if you don’t want to be best friends. I just need you in my life again.”
“I’m scared to be you again.”
“I love you.” He leans down and rests his head on my stomach as he tries to pull me in closer. My hands fall into his hair and play with the curly strands just like I used to high school. “I was stupid and immature in high school but I’m ready to be the man you deserve. I just want you with me again.” “I love you Harry.” I pull his face up and lean down to kiss him. His hands urgently grasps my face as he helps me straddle him on the couch.
“I always knew we were going to be more than friends, baby.” He whispers to me as he pulls away and smiles at me.

Chung-hee’s house was obviously meant for a family, yet the entire two story affair seemed lonely. It had the air of grief that only happened when a loved one has passed. The mood was heavy as you arrived at the sprawling estate. Rows of swaying corn and vineyards rolled into the hills.
The boys didn’t have enough room in their van for both you and Hae-won, so you were driving her to the farm. Sadly, you were a little late because Hae-won refused for the longest time. The boys had given up on the fight and left long before you. You really had no reason to keep arguing with her, you didn’t care, but the boys did. In the beginning, she had seemed genuinely concerned about being a burden to you, but then it morphed into straight refusal. You managed to wrangle her into the car while she complained half-heartedly about not wanting to be a bother. So now the girl sat quietly beside you, staring blankly out the window.
You gripped the steering wheel, wondering if you should start a conversation or not. Your eyes slid over to look at her briefly. She didn’t seem to make a move to get out, so you unbuckled.
“Let’s get inside. The boys are already here.” You gestured to the van outside. She seemed like a nice girl, you almost felt the need to mother her, despite most likely being around the same age.
You stepped outside the car, waiting for her to follow. Hae-won looked distant, not entirely there, as she followed your lead. She just stood, staring at the house. She was acting oddly, you just didn’t believe that she barely knew Joo-eun. Something wasn’t adding up. You pushed it off, instead remembering the small smiles she had and the light conversation she had with the boys.
“You coming?” You asked, walking up to the front door. Before you could knock, the door swung open.
“Y/N! Thank god you’re here!” Jin cried, pulling you into a hug. He rarely showed any physical affections so it took you by surprise. You jumped slightly at his touch and he let go quickly. He looked around outside, head turning left and right before pulling you inside and shutting the door.
“Oh, Hae-won is still-”
“Shush shush! We need to-” Jin let out a little squeak as the sound of a plate smashing echoed through the home.
You were standing in the front room, stairs to your right and a short hallway in front. To your left was a doorway that led to a dining room and you guessed the kitchen would be next to that. You heard the shouts of the six other men and Taehyung tumbled out of the doorway further down the hall.
“What happened?” You narrowed your eyes, long strides carrying to the second doorway. Taehyung groaned, leaning against the wall. You walked by. You walked straight into the room and tried not to gawk at the sight.
A sweaty man wearing overalls and a red plaid shirt held up a dish. He held it above Jimin’s head who was trying to get away, grasping Yoongi’s hand. Namjoon stood in the corner, trying to shout over the angry farmer’s screaming. Hoseok stood beside Namjoon, eyes darting around the room. Pillows were thrown on the floor among scattered shards of glass.
“What is going on here?” You tapped your foot impatiently against the wood floor, voice cutting through the air.
The farmer stopped mid-swing, plate dangerously close to cracking over Jimin’s head, Taehyung stumbled through the doorway and grabbed onto Jin, making the older man cry out as he was sent to the ground. Namjoon stopped yelling, mouth open, Hoseok looked guiltily at you while Yoongi pulled Jimin towards him harshly.
“I already told you boys that I gave my statements to the local police!” The man shouted.
“We looked through all the files! We couldn’t find anything and we have significant evidence to take you in, so please just let us talk to you!” Taehyung cried. Yoongi shot him a steel glare that shut up the younger. His jaw snapped shut quickly.
“Sir,” You interrupted what was soon to be another fight. “Please, we just want to talk.” You coax. Then you shoot Yoongi a this is supposed to be your job look.
“I’ve spoken for long enough, but you police never know when to stop, dammit.” He lurched for the nearest unbroken plate, but then stopped.
His hands hovered over the intricately painted plate and with a swift motion, he scooped it up and gently placed it on a high shelf. Chung-hee stared at the round plate for a long time, his eyes searching the surface as if looking for a hidden treasure. He found nothing. The man let out a long sigh and turned to face the room of detectives and police. He gestured haphazardly to the couch, motioning for you to sit down with the others. His boots crunched against the broken ceramic as he eased himself onto a leather chair.
“Fine. I’ll tell you all I know.” He said carefully, seeming to struggle to get the words out.
Taehyung retrieved a small notebook from his back pocket and plopped onto the long sofa. Yoongi took a place beside him and you sat next to Yoongi. Namjoon took the spot to your right and Jin pulled up a chair. Jungkook, Hoseok, and Jimin sat on the edge of the fireplace.
“I was home all night, my wife was at work.” Chung-hee grimaced as he said ‘wife’. Taehyung noted what he was saying, but you noticed him underline the word ‘wife’ and write a couple more comments. “She’s my...my ex wife.” The old man cleared his throat. “Anyway, I-”
“Why did you divorce?” Taehyung piped up, earning a hard jab in the ribs by Yoongi.
“You can’t just ask that.” Yoongi drawled.
“She grew tired of me. Kept telling me to move on.” Chung-hee looked at the space between you and Namjoon’s head. His eyes were dull. “But she was at work. She didn’t find her, she didn’t see the blood.” His fingers curled around the armrest. “I did.” The words cut through the still air, a pain evident.
“I stayed up all night to see if Joo-eun was coming back from that party. It was after curfew, but I was more concerned about her safety than anything else.” He explained.
“So there was no one there to vouch that you were home at the time?” Yoongi asked.
“If you’re suggesting that I murdered my own daughter, you’re sorely mistaken.” Chung-hee’s voice was steely and his jaw clenched.
You placed a hand on Yoongi’s thigh to let him know to take it easy. You noticed the way the older man loosened up to your touch, but you didn’t dwell on it, focused instead on the task at hand.
“Apologies, I was just making sure.”
“Anyway, I found her at early light. It was like she had never left. Her car was still parked in the driveway, in the exact same spot as always. I went out to check and I knocked on the window a couple times. I thought maybe she fell asleep. Then I walked around to the front and saw the blood.” He paused, eyes glancing at the expressions you guys were wearing.
Yoongi was impassive, as always. Taehyung had his eyebrows furrowed together as he jotted down notes. Hoseok was listening intently, his lips pulled into a frown, while Jimin and Jungkook whispered a couple things to each other. Namjoon and Jin remained focused on the man, just like you. You urged him to continue with a nod.
“I called 911 immediately.”
“Dispatch claims that the call was received at noon, not early in the morning.” Namjoon stated smoothly.
“Well they lied.” Chung-hee said factually as if it was the simplest thing in the world. “Everyone in this town lies, they just wanted to put this behind them.”
Namjoon and Jin exchanged worried looks. Before they could speak, you opened your mouth. Your brain was moving at a million miles a minute. Is he suggesting a systemic injustice? Is he purposefully trying to frame himself? Is he guilty, is he innocent? Question upon question built on each other in your mind.
“Are you suggesting that there is a systemic injustice that has taken place?” You asked.
“Yes!”
“And how do we know that you’re telling the truth and trying to justify the situation in your grief stricken state?” You tapped your foot against the wood floor.
“I’m no longer grief stricken, I’m simply angered that this was allowed to happen.” Chung-hee stood. “I think that’s enough for today.”
“I’m so sorry for your loss, please, don’t listen to them.” A new voice came from the doorway. Chung-hee whirled around, eyes widening in recognition.
“Ah, Hae-won.” Namjoon beckoned her in and you resisted the unease in your stomach. You were beginning to get a headache, but you were too prideful to ask for a glass of water.
“Do you know each other?” Jimin surveyed Hae-won and Chung-hee’s expressions. Hoseok’s eyes dragged between their body movements.
“Only a little.” Hae-won murmured, but the sound was not fully committed.
“Yes… only a bit.” Chung-hee seemed distant, his gaze straying to the far wall to his right.
You nodded with a small smile. As much as you’d like to beat your head in for having a headache at this exact moment, you could do no such thing. You resulted in massaging your temple with your left hand, trying to be as discreet as possible. Yoongi glanced suspiciously between the two but shrugged it off when you gently squeezed his thigh.
“Chung-hee, where were you the night of Joo-eun’s murder?” Hae-won asked, taking a spot leaning against the wall.
Her face was blank, impassive, and in control. The 180 felt like whiplash. You could even see her as an interrogator, if she applied herself. The facade crumpled quickly
“I was at my house, as always, waiting up for her to get home.” The man’s face fell, his hard exterior melting away. “I was praying my daughter was safe. Where were you?” The anguish in his tone did not go unnoticed.
Hae-won visibly winced, her words devolving to a stutter. “I was at the party.”
“Weren’t you the one that asked her to go?”
“This isn’t my interrogation.” The young girl looked miserable.
You were really starting to disbelieve her story that they were simply 'acquaintances.’ The dark haired girl turned on her heel and ran out of the room. Whether the others wanted to believe it or not, it looked like a strong guilt burdened her shoulders.
“That’s enough, Chung-hee.” Namjoon cleared his throat. “Can your wife vouch for you?”
“Ex wife, and no, that woman hates me to death.”
“Why?”
“She thinks what you’re thinkin’. Thinks I killed her while she was out, or she thinks I’ve gone insane, up here.” He gestured to his temple. “But I haven’t, I swear.”
You pressed your lips into a thin line. He wasn’t giving any particularly stellar answers to these questions. He was just digging himself in deeper. You may not have noticed your hand still resting on the investigator’s thigh, but Yoongi did.
Yoongi had instinctually relaxed and now it seemed odd if he tensed once more. He didn’t particularly mind your hand on his upper thigh. In fact, your touch drove him wild. The pale man was resisting the urge to place his hand over yours. All seven men had discussed you, how they felt, and in some form or another, everyone had agreed they liked you...a lot. A lot more than a friend and possibly a lover. The issue with you being around for this case, was that it required all of his attention and you were distracting as hell. When you were around he couldn’t focus, none of them could.
So he settled on staring blankly, letting Taehyung take the lead. Hoseok watched him from his spot at the fireplace. His eyes raked down the man’s figure and landed on your hand on his thigh. A small smirk slipped onto the policeman’s face. The investigator just huffed a little and turned his attention back to Chung-hee.
You noticed your hand and withdrew, much to Yoongi’s dismay. Perhaps it would be better to focus on the case and less on you. Besides, he had six other amazing boyfriends. Was it selfish to want one more?
The others would disagree. They would happily indulge, except Jin and Namjoon might be apprehensive at first. It was a delicate balance between Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung’s foolishness and Hoseok, Namjoon, Jin, and his own maturity. He settled on focusing on the case. He’d get to you later.
Taehyung noted the last words of the farmer and then checked the time. It was almost dinner time. The day had gone by in a blink of an eye and you found yourself yawning a little. Your emotional energy was depleted after dealing with the farmer, Hae-won, and Yoongi. Luckily, you were allowed a break as Hae-won invited you back to her place for dinner.
“It’s for protection, right?” She had said.
Hoseok switched with you and you somehow trusted him not to crash your car. He would drive Hae-won, since he was technically supposed to watch over her for the next 24 hours. You waved goodbye to them as they pulled out of the driveway. Then you turned to climb into the van with the other six remaining men.
It was only natural that they tried to shove you into the middle seat in the back. Like hell will I be doing that. You would not stoop so low! You shoved over into the corner seat and buckled up, abruptly ending any argument over your seating arrangements. This left an unhappy Jimin in the center.
so, now you were stuck in a van for an extended period of time with your coworkers. Coworkers that made you...extremely flustered.
“So, that wasn’t very helpful.” Taehyung mumbled, awkwardly clearing his throat and turning to the window.
Namjoon sat in the passenger seat, Jin drove, Jimin was beside you and Taehyung was beside Jimin. Yoongi and Jungkook took the two seats in the middle of the van.
“If anything, it made him more suspicious.” Yoongi added.
“But we thought that way with Hak-kun and now he’s dead.” You pointed out. The atmosphere in the car tensed. “And what’s with Hae-won and Chung-hee?”
“I don’t know, not really our business.” Jin said quickly to your surprise. Why was he...defending her?
“She could be connected to a possible murder suspect.” You tried to glare at him through the rearview mirror but his eyes stayed planted on the road ahead.
“Why are you so suspicious of her?” Namjoon turned in his seat.
This was a different kind of embarrassment. Were they accusing you of being jealous? Namjoon was someone you respected immensely. He was your boss, your secret crush, your mentor in many ways. You felt...ashamed.
“I’m not, I’m asking the real questions.” You tried to defend yourself, but you were shaking to your core. The other boys avoided your gaze and turned to the windows. “Just forget I said anything.” You said softly, but in the silent car it felt like a shout.
Your heart felt like it was going to fall right out of your chest. The quiet of the car was suffocating, the tension rising. The uneasy feeling in your gut turned to anger. Why couldn’t they just believe you? Why can’t they just do their jobs? You tried your best to calm down, but Jimin seemed to feel your angered presence. The man slowly shifted away, pressing into Taehyung. The newbie investigator stayed staring at the window, yet he hooked an arm around Jimin’s waist to pull him in closer.
You weren’t entirely sure how the dynamics of the seven’s relationship worked, but it must be alright considering how long they’d been together. They would always believe and trust each other over you, that was a fact. Did you even matter to this team? You didn’t need to be here, they could have very well sent in the samples to the station, yet you dropped everything without a second thought to go see them.
How stupid. The dull ache of your head now pounded into a full on headache. It was painful and had you squeezing your eyes shut in an attempt to make it go away. The van pulled to a stop and the engine rumbled to a halt. In front of the van was your car, so Hoseok and Hae-won had already arrived. The lights in the kitchen were on. You massaged your temples and then moved to get out.
Yoongi and Jungkook exited, then Jimin, then Taehyung. Namjoon and Jin stood outside as you emerged. They didn’t speak to you. The cold shoulder made your heart break, but you kept your discomfort inside. The car beeped as Jin locked it and pocketed the keys.
You went up the couple steps and knocked on the door. Hoseok opened it with a smile, the smell of kimchi fried rice filling the air. Hae-won was humming and moving around the kitchen. The boys filed in behind you while Hoseok wordlessly handed you your car keys. The man may be a bit dense sometimes, but even he understood the tension hanging in the air. Only Hae-won didn’t seem bothered. She turned to greet you with a wide smile. She looked pretty, her hair messy but also framing her face perfectly. You subconsciously smoothed your own hair down.
“Hello! Welcome welcome!” The girl had to shout over the sizzling from the kitchen. “Place your things down, make yourself comfortable! The food is almost ready.” She continued cheerfully, turning back to the stove.
You followed the others into the dining area. Yoongi and Taehyung were whispering back and forth, notepads out and pens pointing at various notes. Namjoon and Jin seemed to be having a silent conversation with their eyes. Yoongi jumped up to help Hae-won serve the dinner while Jungkook stared at you, his doe eyes holding a coldness that made you squirm. Hoseok frowned at the others, his brain clearly turning. He must have come to some conclusion because you felt his eyes settle on you.
“Eat up!” Hae-won entered the room like a ball of sunshine, except it just made your head hurt more. The dishes were placed down and then the chatter kicked up.
“Hae-won, where do you go to school?” Namjoon asked.
“Well, I go to a university not far from here, but I’ve been content with the online courses while I do my work study here.” She explained, taking a large scoop of rice. When the bowl was passed to you, you placed the smallest portion into your bowl, but no one seemed to notice.
Yoongi noticed. He was observant and he knew despite the airhead personality of Taehyung, that he too was very observant. Was it because of what they said? Was that why the tension was palpable? The investigator was watching the analyst while trying not to seem suspicious. Something was going on and he wanted to know; as a coworker, right?
Despite the agreement that they all sort of had a thing for their little forensic analyst, she had never shown much interest in them. He supposed it was a side effect of wanting things you couldn’t have. Yoongi took another bite of rice. You had a headache. He could tell from your body language. Should he ask if you were alright? No, that seemed too much right now.
You couldn’t take it anymore. The silence was strangling you. You couldn’t breathe. You could feel the panic attack coming. Your head pounded, worsened by being unable to draw a suitable amount of air in your lungs.
“Are you alright?” Hae-won placed a hand on your arm, causing you to jump. She quickly withdrew her hand, staring at you with sympathetic eyes.
“I’m-I’m fine.” You murmured, your breath short and labored.
“Do you need anything? Aspirin? Water?” Hae-won stood while the other boys just looked elsewhere.
“Aspirin is actually great.” You said quickly, “Where can I find that?”
“In the bathroom, I can go get it for you.” She said, but her smile was a little more forced. Her tone was harsher, but you paid it no mind.
“No, no, I’m fine. I’ll get it. I need to freshen up a little too.” You said shakily, but your tone was firm.
She seemed to want to protest, an expression resembling anger or distraught flashing across the girl’s face. And just like that, it was gone. Her lips twisted back into a calming smile.
“Of course. It’s in the medicine cabinet.”
“Thank you.” You stood and rushed into the corridor towards the bathroom while Hae-won slowly sat down.
You could hear the conversation start back up, loud impersonations and even a couple waves of laughter. Were you lonely? You stared at yourself in the bathroom mirror. Just a little. You thought, turning on the faucet and splashing a handful of cold water onto your face. Get it together, Y/N. You dried off your face and opened the mirror.
It slowly swung out with a click. There were bandaids, gauze, various pill bottles, and facial cleansers. You rooted through the pill bottles before stumbling across an orange bottle labeled ASPIRIN. You shook it around, seeing it a little over half full. Your head was begging you to take one. You pressed down on the lid and twisted it open. You pursed your lips and then searched for a glass.
You just had to get through this dinner and pretend everything was okay. Next to the sink was a glass holding a toothbrush. Okay, that’s too unsanitary. So you turned to leave and get a glass of water, your mind feeling hazy as you thought about walking back into that suffocating room. Wait, don't forget the aspirin. You turned and shook a pill out. You brought it to your lips, but stopped short. You didn’t get a degree in toxicology for nothing. Aren’t aspirin supposed to be round?
You frowned at the slim, green, tablet in hand. You pocketed it, not trusting the pill, and returned to the dinner.
They had all moved to the couch to watch a movie, but one look at Jungkook snuggled next to Hae-won made you halt. Fuck this. You thought to yourself. You didn’t deserve to punish yourself by staying. You just inhaled and left, slamming the door loudly behind you as you marched out. No one paid you a glance.

Jackie and the girls showed up two days before Tyler had to leave for his road trip, and between the four of them, someone was always holding Jace. Thankfully, you always had designated time, as you were Jace’s source of food. Though you did start pumping so that Tyler would be able to feed him every now and then.
You really weren’t surprised that Tyler had to beg Jackie to go to his game on the last night he was home. She seemed to want to soak up anytime she would get with her grandson. She’d even tried to say that you probably needed help and that she shouldn’t be away for that long. It was really adorable, but in the end, her son’s puppy dog eyes won out. By the time they got home, Jace was fast asleep. Jackie and the girls headed off to bed, while Tyler insisted he get some time with his son.
“Babe, I’m going to be gone for a week. He’s not even going to remember me.” Tyler whined as he laid in bed holding his son.
“He’ll remember you. Besides, we’ll facetime two or three times a day for you to see him.”
“But I’m going to miss his first doctor’s appointment, and what if he does something cute, like roll over or crawl.”
“Ty, he’s not even a week old yet. He won’t be doing either of those things for a while yet, and I will call you the minute we leave the doctor’s office and tell you what she says.”
He kissed Jace’s little head, before saying, “It’s not the same babe. I just….” He blew out a breath. “I’m just going to miss him…and you so much.”
Reaching over, you gathered your boys in your arms as best you could. “I know you will Ty, and we’re going to miss you as well. But when you come home, you’ll be here for like ten days straight. This is the longest road trip you have left this season. Once you make it through this it’ll all be downhill from there.”
“I know you’re right. I just wish I could take you both with me.”
You smiled, for you would love to go with him as well. “Jace, can’t even fly yet babe, or we’d go with you.”
“Hopefully, he’ll be allowed once playoffs roll around.”
“I actually talked to the doctor about that already, before Jace was born. She felt as long as Jace was healthy there would be no problem for him to fly. She only advised washing my hands and Jace’s things frequently when we do fly.”
“Well, I’ll get a private plane, so he doesn’t have to be around a bunch of people.” Tyler’s voice sounded excited at the prospect of you and Jace flying out to be with him.
“Slow down a little, Ty. We still have a ways to go.”
“I know babe. I just want to be with him every second that I can.” You leaned over and kissed him then. You could sympathize with Tyler, there was no way you would want to be parted from your baby boy, especially right now.
“Speaking of that, I have a bottle in the fridge by the coffee bar, if you want to feed him tonight. It will just need heated, but if you want to get some sleep; I can feed him as well.” You were just trying to give him as much time with Jace as possible.
“No, I’ll feed him. I’d love to, though I do like watching you do it.” He said with a little wiggle to his brow, to which you just shook your head at him. He leaned in close and pecked your lips before saying, “Don’t think I haven’t noticed these getting bigger.” He pointedly looked at your breasts. “I know it’s way too soon, but you know I still find you sexy as hell babe, maybe even more so.”
You kissed him back, a little more passionately this time. “Thank you for saying that.”
“I mean it, babe. Like as soon as you get the all-clear, I want to start trying for a brother or sister for this one.”
“Woah, hold up there slugger. Let’s just enjoy this guy for a bit, first.”
“You’re right. I just love him so much (Y/N). I never thought I could feel this way.” Jace chose that moment to wake up, and start crying. “Aww bud, it’s ok. Daddy's got you.” Tyler bounced him up and down in his arms. It wasn’t long before Jace settled back down, though he still whimpered from time to time. “What’s wrong little guy? You hungry?”
“I’ll go warm up his bottle.” You were back in a few minutes, handing off Jace’s late-night snack to Tyler. Jace took his bottle like a champ, and it wasn’t long before you were settling him back down so you all could sleep. One feeding and two diaper changes later, Tyler was getting up and getting ready to head out to the airport. It was incredibly hard for him, and you had to bite your lip to keep yourself from crying as you saw tears form in Tyler’s eyes. “Facetime me when you get there.”
“I will babe.” He kissed you hard on the lips then, before backing away and kissing Jace. “Bye bud, Daddy will be home soon. Don’t forget me while I’m gone.” Jace started to cry. You knew he wasn’t hungry or needed changed and probably just sensed that something was wrong with Tyler. “I know bud, Daddy doesn’t want to go either.” A tear ran down Tyler’s cheek and you brushed it away with your free hand.
“Go Ty, or you’re going to be late. We love you.” A few more tears slipped out of both you and Tyler.
“I love you guys too.” He kissed both of you again, then slid in the car and pulled out the driveway. You watched him leave, tears freely flowing now, and Jace still crying. The moment you walked back inside Jackie was there to envelope you in a hug, where you just sobbed.
“I don’t know why I’m crying. He’s the one that had to leave Jace, not me.” You said a couple minutes later.
“Here let me take him for a moment.” You handed the baby over to her. “Sweetie, your emotions are still high after just having this little guy. It’s only natural that you’re going to be upset. Tyler will be fine, as soon as he gets back in his routine, and before you know it, he’ll be back home and driving you crazy.”
You sniffed loudly. “I know. Thank you for being here.”
She kissed your forehead and continued to rock Jace back and forth in her arms until he quieted. “Anytime sweetheart.” You were so thankful that Jackie stayed a couple extra days with you. She helped you get Jace to the doctor’s where he lost a little bit of weight, but the doctor wasn’t concerned since he was eating pretty regularly. She felt that he’d be gaining weight within the next week or so. She wanted to see Jace in three weeks, but you were to call if you need anything in the meantime.
A couple days later, Jackie and the girls headed home. You were sad to see them go but also enjoyed the time with just you and Jace. It seemed like she no sooner left than your phone was ringing. “Hey babe,” Tyler exclaimed as you answered the FaceTime. “How’s everything going today?”
“We’re good Ty, just got your mom and sisters off to the airport. How’s LA?”
“It sucks.” He literally had said that about Chicago and Vegas when you asked him as well. “I just want to be home with you and my lil man. Where is he by the way?”
Jace was up on the kitchen counter, in his mamaroo seat watching you make lunch. “He’s right here,” and you switched the phone over so Tyler could see his baby.
“Hey Jace, it’s daddy. What are you doing? Are you being a big boy watching mama?” Jace made little cooing noises at his dad. “Yeah, tell me a story. What are you and mama gonna do today?” There were a few more gurgles from the baby. “Oh yeah.” You listened to the two of them and it made your heart swell. It went on for a few more minutes before Tyler turned his attention back to you. “So, how are you feeling? Are you sure my mom should’ve left? She would’ve stayed if you needed her.”
“I know she would’ve, but she has a life too Ty. I’m feeling much better and moving much better. I’m sure Jace and I will be good for the next three days until you get home.” He frowned at you over the phone. “What?”
“I just wish I could come home now.”
“Just seventy-two hours and you will be babe.” The conversation went on for a while the two of you talking about nothing important just enjoying each other’s company. It was later on that night that you saw Tyler had posted the pic you’d taken of him and Jace in the hospital. It was the one where Jace was laying on his bare chest as they got skin to skin time. He had a simple caption on the bottom that read, ‘Missing my lil man and times like these.’ It made your heart melt because you knew how much Tyler missed both you and Jace. This was the first time either you or Tyler had posted Jace on social media. You had made an IG account for your son which was private and just for family and friends, and of course, you posted on there daily; but never on your public accounts. You quickly commented saying, ‘We miss you too Daddy. Can’t wait until your home.’ You topped it off with a bunch of heart emojis.
Hours later, after you watched the Stars win in overtime, and Tyler score; you were scrolling through your IG while you fed Jace and waited for Tyler to call when you saw all the comments.
Most were sweet, saying how adorable Jace was, but there were some that just made your skin crawl. Ones that said, ‘I knew she baby trapped him,’ ‘Sorry you’re stuck with that woman and a baby now,’ ‘I noticed how didn’t comment that you missed his mom, I wouldn’t either.’ They only got worse from there. You knew that they shouldn’t bother you, yet they did. As much as you tried to tell yourself, they were just fangirls; it still took an emotional toll on you.
You were just about to put the phone down when it rang, Tyler’s face popping up on the screen. “Hey babe, did you see the game? I scored one…wait what’s wrong? Is Jace ok?”
You took a deep breath before answering. “Jace is fine and yes we watched the game. Nice goal babe.”
“Baby, I don’t give a shit about that. What’s wrong with you?”
“It’s nothing, Ty. I swear.”
“It’s not nothing if you’re practically crying.” All you wanted was for him to wrap you up in his arms at that moment.
“I just read some of the comments, and they got to me. I know I shouldn’t let them. I’m just still an emotional wreck.”
“What comments?”
“On the pic, you posted of you and Jace.”
“Hold on, I can’t look at them while we’re on FaceTime. I’ll call you right back.” It wasn’t more than five minutes later and the phone was ringing again. “I’m sorry angel. Please don’t let those people get to you. I shut the comments off, but I’ll take the picture down if you want. I should’ve asked you before I posted it.”
“No, it’s fine. If you want to post Jace, you should. He’s your son too.”
“I know, but still. You know those comments are shit right?” You nodded. “I love you more than anything baby.”
“I know, Ty.” You hesitated for a moment, as you’d been down this road before, but you still had to ask. “You don’t feel like I trapped you; do you?”
“What? Fuck no babe.” He ran his fingers threw his hair. “You didn’t even tell me you were pregnant at first, and I practically had to beg you to get you back.” He paused for a second then added. “Well, I did beg. You and Jace are my world baby, don’t let some idiot question that.”
He was right of course. “I love you, Ty.”
“I love you too (Y/N). I wish I could hold you right now, so you knew how much.”
“Me too,” you sighed out wistfully.
“I’ll be home soon baby. Now tell me what you and baby Jace did today?”
You proceeded to tell Tyler all about your day. Which seemed actually boring to you, but he wanted every little detail, by the end you’d forgotten about the whole IG incident. Over the next two days, you talked to Tyler at least ten times. So you were shocked when you saw a notification pop up on your phone. It was DM from someone you didn’t know. You opened it up and there was a picture of Tyler and some women you didn’t know. The message simply said, ‘thought you should know your baby daddy is cheating on you.’

Alfie Solomons X Reader
| Prompt
“There is something between us and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt.”
a/n: This has been an unfinished draft for the longest time so it’s a lil dusty but i sure do hope you enjoy it :) stay safe
There was no noise in the room, no vinyl playing in the background like there usually was nor the sound of the breeze hitting the window. It was cold, colder than it had been in the last week but there was no rain. Rain made things better, mostly because the sky with all her might would turn the earth into a living hell and throw a tantrum for a day or two and release the weight that had been carried around in the clouds. It was better when it rained.
She needed to rain, too. The feelings that had been building up in her heavy chest made it harder for her to function. She’d tried to paint, to let the anger go like she usually did but it hadn’t worked, there was too much of it this time. She tried a few meditations but being alone with her thoughts was the thing that made it unbearable so it hadn’t worked. There was tension she’d been carrying on her back ever since the last time she had seen him. The only way to let that go was to talk things out, see him again and tell him exactly how she was feeling but she knew better than that. It was never conventional when it came to him.
She had played out many scenarios in her mind: maybe he’d found someone better or he had gotten tired of her, she had shown too much of herself. There were things she regretted, partly her fault. Parts of her that had never been seen before were given to him, he had been so gentle at the time but she thought that maybe, there was another side to him. She shook her head, her vision was getting blurry again and so were her thoughts. He would never hurt her, he wouldn’t be the one to turn away either, especially with the precious things she’d given him but she was forgetful.
It had been a tiring day, she had painted the new portrait a wealthy lady had asked for, traveled all the way to her house and got pampered by the luxury around. She liked her job, too much maybe but inspiration was vital and he was her muse. Now that he wasn’t around so much, there wasn’t many things she did want to do. Her mind seemed too occupied with the thought of him: the way he moved and the creases around his eyes when he would laugh at something she said. She thought about the way his gentle touch always seemed to find her, they were drawn to each other naturally, it had always been that way.
She missed him, she didn’t like that her daily moods were so dependent on whether she’d seen him or not. He used to have very little power over her, she still could hold herself but now, after all the time they’d spent together, a part of her was always with him and he felt the same way. Her eyes glanced around the dried flowers hanging on the walls, a sigh left her lips. She was good, she had everything she could’ve asked for but it wasn’t the same, it wouldn’t be. Not after the mornings where he’d bake something for her and make her wait because he knew well that she’d be too impatient to wait. There were times when she saw stars in his eyes and she did still, she just saw him less. He had been busy, he had his own work and line of things to deal with and she knew that but there was also avoidance from his end she couldn’t seem to shake.
He was scared.
She was too good, with each layer he’d peeled to see what truly made her, he’d fallen for her in a way he wasn’t able to comprehend. She was so good with him, gentle and loving every second that they’d spent and he had spent a lot of time and attention to break her hard walls until this point. He would always love her, there was a part of him he liked because of her. She’d shown him too many things to just ignore but he was scared because it was all going well, too well for his liking.
Alfie knew doom, he knew trouble and death and mourning. He knew the feeling of a bullet wound and he knew how it felt to lose someone he had given a piece of his soul to. He knew rejection and fear but he didn’t know the kind of love she was giving him. He didn’t know that a person’s smile could be brighter than the sun and he didn’t know just how much he could truly love a person. He didn’t know of the kindness she gave off, he didn’t know of the small caresses of her hands around his, he didn’t know safety and love and reassurance.
He had forgotten all those things and now that she was reminding him of those, it seemed too good to be true. There were certain things he had learned from being able to stay alive till now and one of them was that if something seemed too good to be true, it usually was. She waited for him once again in the empty room. The tips of her fingers were frozen but she didn’t mind, even though she knew he wouldn’t be there to warm her up like he usually was.
After a week or so of walking around her studio, working extreme hours both to finish the painting that was due soon and also because she knew she’d be alone when she went home, that he wouldn’t come knocking any time soon. It was night time, not late enough for the stray dogs to come out but enough for everyone to go home and relax at the warmth of their cozy houses. She sighed, she hadn’t realised how late it was because she had been so set at finishing the painting that she hadn’t realised just how dark it had gotten.
Gathering her things and supplies she would need to throw away, she slowly made her way out. It was a chilly day but it was also spring time, she had been waiting to see the blossoms around the city and they were already decorating a few trees. Hugging her body, she walked in the quiet streets and debated on what she’d have for dinner. She didn’t cook as much these days since Alfie wasn’t around and she didn’t really like the hassle of cooking when it wasn’t for him.
She was about to turn the street when she felt a hand on her shoulder which made her turn immediately. After a couple seconds of blinking and with the help of the street lamps, she saw the soul she so badly missed. It was absurd. She had been dreaming about him for the past two weeks and now he was right there, standing next to the pavement with a worried look on his face. Her expression didn’t change, for all she knew this could be a dream so she waited.
“What the fuck are you doin’ out here at this hour, luv?” he spoke, a little bit more loud than usual to make sure she heard. She pinched herself, finding it hard to believe that he was finally here next to her.
“What is it to you?” she spoke, her voice was low. She was angry at the man and there was no questioning why. She didn’t want to argue but he hadn’t been around much and she needed to ask why, that meant arguing with Alfie.
“What the fuck do you mean, eh?” he spoke, almost shouting as her eyes landed on his car, he must’ve been going around. “I’ve been at your fucking door, yeah, for the past week..” he breathed out, anger and confusion in his eyes as he took a step closer. “..trying to fucking reach you, right, but you suddenly became too fucking busy!” he said, she watched the way he moved.
She hated her heart for this but she had missed him too much not to take a look at him at that exact moment. He was wearing his usual attire, his coat had to be washed but his shirt was unexpectedly clean for the time they spent apart. She looked at his handsome face, now scrunched in the kind of pain that came from the inside. She didn’t like to see him this way, it upset her and it upset him even more that she wouldn’t talk at that exact moment. She blinked, realising she hadn’t spoken yet.
With a shake of her head, she opened her mouth.
“I...” she said, her voice was lower compared to his, she wasn’t going to shout like he was. “You’ve been gone...for almost three weeks now.” there was guilt in his eyes as she spoke. “You didn’t say anything, didn’t call more than twice and didn’t even bother to talk to me..” she spoke, shaking her head in disbelief.
He could be so cruel sometimes. She chuckled at him out of anger. There was this attitude he covered himself with sometimes, he wouldn’t care nor do anything. He had done it when Tommy had threatened him the first time but he was nervous underneath it all. She didn’t like it when he did that, she hated it when he used it against her to show her just how daft he could be. She threw her hands in the air.
“For god’s sake, Alfie!” she said, frustration peeking through. “You didn’t tell me anything! Only came to see me once and didn’t even have the courtesy to kiss me goodbye when you left that day!” she said, tears in the corners of her eyes that had formed out of anger.
“Dove, I was fucking busy, alright?” he said, making her scoff.
“Busy to kiss me? You were fine all the other times you kissed me at work when a pile of papers were sitting at your desk!” she said, eliminating the excuses.
“What is it?” she whispered with a soft voice.
It was something else, something else that she wasn’t able to point at. She knew it had to be something else. He had been distant, not only that but he’d been avoiding her. There had been one too many half-assed kisses given from his end. She didn’t mind the worries or the scares he’d have about the relationship, she knew him well enough to realise that he would question things when they were going well.
It was the way he spoke, the way he would avert her eyes, the way he’d barely kiss the top of her head when leaving. She had realised them far too long ago but she had been busy with the things of life, she had found excuses not to go there simply because she didn’t know if she would be able to take his temper. She was scared, too. It wasn’t like she didn’t have her own fears but she knew how to handle her own demons when it came down to it, mostly.
Alfie needed someone to help him chase the demons down, she had seen him drown in his self-worry before and he was doing the same thing, it was just a different matter at his hands. She sighed, looked at the man before him just with as much love as she’d done the first day she’d seen him. It would be easy to run away, to start fresh and not far from here either. She would have it easy, she had her own connections and her own business but her heart would be staying here so there was no use of moving.
After spending so much time with him, after getting to know him so well: she had become a part of him and carried a part of his soul with her always. It was the way he laughed, the creases around his eyes when he would chuckle at her silliness. It had been the way he baked for her, the way he cared and the way he would gently handle her fragile heart that made him as important as he was to her and there was no denying that no matter just how far she would travel, she would always find her way back to him.
“Dove, it’s..” he spoke, unable to find words to form.
What was he supposed to say? He was scared that this was going all too well because it felt like she was about to leave him for someone else, he didn’t understand why she was still here. She was his heart and soul but it bugged him just how good she was to him, things usually didn’t go well for Alfie in life. He wanted to marry her, to wed her and call her his bride and he would buy her every dress she wanted and take her to the fanciest hotel in a different country but he was scared.
He had been to war, he had committed too many sins to be having something as good as her in his life. She was a light in the dark place he had around him and it was all out of a fairy tale. He loved her, maybe too much. His own mother would’ve loved her too, and she had very high standards. She was the cure for his misery and the match for his wounded soul. He didn’t want to let her go but he didn’t know how to make her stay either.
“Spit it out.” she said, she was not messing around. She had been tired of this game of push and pull, there was no other way but to talk her feelings out and it was exactly what she was going to do. “Alfie, baby, look.” she cooed, making the man twice his size just crumble with her sweet words. She didn’t usually call him baby so he was a sucker for when she did. She wanted to do this the kind way, it would be the hard way but it was worth trying because it was Alfie, her Alfie.
She was tearing up now, there was no way of going about things but to address just how miserable she was feeling.“There is something between us and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt.” she spoke with a trembling voice. She needed him to know.
“You can’t just...”she sighed, throwing her hands in the air with a worried look.  She was crying, he hated when she cried. “You can’t throw this away...” she talked, finally done with what she was saying.
She chuckled at him this time. he was looking so vulnerable. He reminded her of a lost puppy and she found it adorable until when she saw his lips trembling. There was shock in her eyes while the man before him cried silently, there was no noise but just tears flowing down his eyes. She took a step closer, her hands finding his cheeks while she kissed the tears away from his face. His hands kept her in place, not wanting her to get away.
“I’m sorry..” he spoke into her hands, tears present in his eyes still.
And it was all forgiven. She didn’t need to hear why he was sorry, she didn’t need the detailed apology to know what he was feeling. Their souls were one, no matter just how distant they sometimes felt from each other.
The old man was grumpy most of the time, he was messy and careless. He forgot to do things, he wasn’t the most forgiving and he usually got annoyed too fast. He was angry and didn’t hesitate to do bad things, things Y/N still wasn’t able to muster.
But he kissed her like she meant the world to him. He made her breakfast and read to her, massaged her when she was stressed. He drew her baths and kissed her goodnight and good morning. He was happy when she was around.
He was happy because she was hers.
All her anger seemed to fade, she felt guilty for being so harsh on the man. Sure, he was also to blame but she knew better than to get angry at him. It was easy for him to get riled up anyway, there was no point in pushing it.
“It’s fine...” she whispered against his face. He felt her warmness around him, feeling home again.
She knew it was going to be hard, they gad to work on trusting each other more and they needed to talk some things out, the old man had entirely too much on his mind and it bugged her that she kept it to himself.
He wrapped his arms around the petite woman, she got lost in his smell she so badly missed while his soft caresses met her locks. She held onto him, more than she usually did as she felt him kiss the top of her head.
She was home.

A Second Chance - Part 1 Whiskey x F!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I had an idea for a slow burn with Whiskey i couldn’t shake. Reader is Agent Schorle ,a short, curvy female employee at Statesman (Not a field agent). She works in the ‘PR’ department and is good friends with Tequila. This is a mix between canon and Fanon Whiskey, set after Golden Circle so it rewrites canon and he’s not a secret bad guy, living past the events of the movie. But he is still a womanizer while he is single. Like with most my x reader fics its more OFC than a traditional reader but i change it up so it can be read as a reader fic, meaning the reader is more of a character. This chapter is just their introduction/first impressions.  Also! I AM NOT American, so if i get any shit about America wrong, IDGAF. Credits: No Beta reader. HMU if you wanna be one for this series
Title: A Second Chance Fandom: Kingsman; the Golden Circle. Ship: Agent Jack ‘Whiskey’ Daniels/Reader Warning:  Bit of womanizing behavior from Whiskey (Surprise surprise), it’s not rejected by the reader character so its consensual. Nothing else for this chapter. Heads up before you get invested, not in this chapter but there will be triggering stuff as part of the plot in later chapters, and there will be kids in later chapters too, just in case either of those things aren’t your cup of tea. No use of Y/N in this chapter. There are two narrative perspectives in this story, 3rd person Whiskey perspective and 2nd person Reader perspective. Promise not to flip between them too often. Word count: - 2K Master List - coming soon Request status AO3 Link - coming soon Next part - coming soon
The first thing Jack Daniels noticed was not the way her pencil skirt hugged her ass, or the way her blouse struggled to contain her breasts, as much as his colleagues would later claim. He was well aware of his reputation as a womanizer and didn't exactly blame them for that immediate assumption, it was what most people noticed first about her anyway, why would Jack Daniels, the womanizing Cowboy be any different? No, the thing he noticed first was her laugh. It was so warm, angelic, he was entranced hopelessly from the first moment he first heard it in the Statesman hallway. He would give his damn hat to hear that sound grace his ears again.
He had gravitated over to her immediately, joining in on the little conversation she was having with Tequila. He tried to be subtle, he really did, waltzing up to the two of them with his best, charming smile, checking her out as he did so and nodding a greeting at his colleague. She was short, and curvy, her attire was office professional, meaning she probably wasn't a field agent, tidy, small heels showing her shapely curves of her legs, and soft, professional curls hung loosely, framing her round face. She was gorgeous. “Hey there Tequila,” he smiled, before nodding in her direction. “You gonna introduce me to your pretty lil friend here?” She blushed slightly, he noticed, as she pushed some of her neat hair behind her ear, she had a small shy smile on her face too, ‘cute as a button’ he thought. “Ahhh come on Whiskey, leave her alone,” Tequila groaned dramatically, making her giggle. Jack couldn’t help his smile growing at the sound. “Now now Boy,” he chuckled, patting Tequila's shoulder. “You can’t be hiding this pretty little thing from me and not expect her to catch my eye,” he added, shooting her a playful wink. She hugged the files she was carrying closer to her chest, blushing more and avoided his eye contact. Jack might have assumed she was uncomfortable if that smile wasn’t still playing on her lips. “She’s off limits, Whiskey,” Tequila sighed. “I think she can make her own mind up about that,” Whiskey grinned, elbowing the younger agent. “She’s a big girl. Now come on, show some manners and introduce me.” She giggled again and Tequila groaned, pissed off that already Whiskey’s stupid southern charm was working already. “Whiskey,” he sighed, already expecting the ungodly amount of flirting that was about to rain down upon his friend. “This is Schorle. One of our ‘behind the scenes’ agents.’PR’ department.” Jack flashed her a crooked smile as Tequila continued, motioning to the senior agent. “Schorle, this is Whiskey. I’ve told you ‘bout him before.” “Oh, have you now?” Jack chuckled, he put his hands on his hips and faced her more directly. “All good things I hope?” he asked her. She gave him another shy smile and Jack felt his heart soar. “I am well aware of you Agent Whiskey, and not just from Tequila here,” she said, now his heart felt like it had skipped a beat. Her voice was as angelic as her laugh! “Again, I hope it's all good things,” he laughed.  “Most the time, yes,” she hummed playfully. “My main job is hiding Statesman true existence from the public eye.” She flashed him a more coy smile and his grin grew. “Which means i tend to hear about certain escapades, such as a cable car sledding down a mountain.” Jack rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, laughing nervously. “You certainly don't make my job easy sometimes, Agent,” she teased. Jack's expression was one of pleasant surprise, she wasn’t as shy as she appeared. Tequila laughed, pleased his friend was at least able to bite back at the other man. “She’s still off limits old man,” the younger agent muttered to him. “I am not that much older than you,” Jack retorted, making her giggle some more. “And as i rightfully pointed out earlier, she can make up her own mind about me i am sure.” Tequila was about to bite back but she interrupted whatever thought he was about to say. “He’s right on that Tequila. I can make up my own mind,” she said, giving Jack another smile. “And right now my mind is telling me i need to get back to work.” She gave Jack a nod and Tequila a friendly wave as she turned on her heels and went back to wherever her office was. Whiskey let out a long whistle when she was out of earshot, admiring her ass as her hips swayed. His staring was interrupted by Tequila wacking him in the chest with the back of his hand. “Hey! I’m only looking!” he pouted. “She didn’t seem to have a problem with me.” “Dang it Whiskey she's my friend!” Tequila groaned. “Just leave her alone, she don’t need none of that. “ “She’s not married, and I know she ain’t your girl,” Jack remarked. “She’s still my friend Whiskey,” the younger agent sighed. “I don’t want her gettin’ hurt.” Jack frowned at him. “Hey now that’s not fair,” he said sternly. “I know I have a reputation an all but you’re acting like I plan on breaking her heart.” “She’s one of the nicest people I ever met, she doesn’t deserve to be your current flavor of the month,” Tequila defended. “Now I take personal offence to that Tequila,” Jack countered. “I would like to think myself a gentleman and my intentions are purely honorable.” “The way you were staring at her ass tells me otherwise,” Tequila mumbled. “C’mon Whiskey, you don’t even know her. She’s just another pretty piece of ass to you and we both know it.” Whiskey gave him a disappointed look. Slightly upset his friend would think so lowly of him, but he had to admit his reputation did nothing to counter it. “It’s really bothering you isn’t it?” he asked, sighing when Tequila nodded. “Fine, look, I won’t chase her. If it means that much to you,” he sighed in defeat. He was still enamored with her, but if hooking up with her bothered Tequila so much he wouldn’t in good conscience be able to do so. “That a promise?” Tequila asked, holding his hand out for Jack to shake and seal the deal. “Yeah,” he sighed, taking the offered hand. “She must mean a lot to you,” he added, only getting another nod in return from the younger man as they shook hands.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You first noticed Whiskey long, long before the two of you ever actually met in person. You hadn’t been joking about dealing with the results of his missions, constantly having to kill stories in the press or send out false reports to police and media so that Statesman’s business remained out of the public eye. Your ‘PR’ department was often quite busy, constantly searching social media to kill any evidence that might have been captured by the public. It was a 24 hour job, one you were in charge of now.
Years ago, when you were a new hire, just one of the lackeys, your first assignment was to comb through social media to kill any evidence of Whiskey’s latest mission. You hadn’t slept for two days during that time, surviving on caffeine and an ambition to make a good impression at your new job. You could vaguely remember complaining to one of your co-workers about the agent who had gone in guns (and Lasso) blazing without considering the fact that smart phones were now a thing and that the target was a very public figure. That was the first time you heard of him, as your more experienced co-worker gushed over his skills as an agent while you sat and seethed at the ungodly amount of work he had caused you on your first assignment.
You could look back on that memory fondly now, and since then your opinion of him had changed as you heard more and more about him. He was a skilled agent, had a strong sense of justice and always got the job done. Sure, his methods were sometimes a little unorthodox and he was often quick to jump into the fray, but there was no denying his skill. He was a senior agent for a reason after all. And of course, you had heard about his reputation, no woman in the office hadn’t. He would flirt with any pretty thing that caught his eye. You used to think that your co-workers that fell for his charm were foolish for falling for it, given his well known reputation among Statesman, but that was before you met him in person. You had seen him in passing before, from afar, or glimpses of him in the social media posts you killed, he was handsome, sure, but it was a whole different level when you met him face to face. You thought you were safe from his charm, believed you were smart enough not to fall for it should it happen to come your way, but you also doubted you would ever be on the receiving end of it. You had been in the same room as him plenty of times in the past and he had never paid any attention to you, and not to mention you didn’t exactly fit his usual type. You were short, plump, nothing like the field agents he was used to working with, women who were physically fit enough to work alongside him and fight. Not to say you thought you were completely unattractive, sure it sometimes bothered you that your blouse could barely contain your breasts and that your stomach and thighs were a little too soft for your liking, but you weren’t blind. You could see the not so subtle looks as you walked past, the way people would try to discreetly check out your ass as you walked. It was a confidence booster for sure. It just never occurred to you before that you would be Whiskeys type. So the day the two of you met officially, you couldn’t help the blushes, he was attractive, and paying attention to you, perhaps it wasn’t so hard to see why women fell for his charm even with his reputation. You were just like every other woman he flirted with, but when he spoke to you it made you feel special. You supposed that was the appeal, why it was so easy for him. It wasn’t until you had excused yourself from his company and were able to calm down that you began to chide yourself for falling for his charm. You reminded yourself of his reputation, as handsome and charming as he was you didn’t want to be just another roll in the hay for him.
You sighed as you made your way into your office. Now the head of Statesman’s ‘PR’ department you were officially considered an ‘agent’, the perks in which included your own private office. You dropped your files off before making your way inside, ready to get back to work, trying to ignore the way Whiskey's attention had made your heart flutter and pretend you weren’t looking forward  to seeing him again.
