FixTF2: What Happened, Why Did Valve Step In, And What Comes Next?
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with neither Valve nor the people who run the FixTF2 petition. Do not treat anything I say here as any official announcement of any future plans for the movement. All my thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
As of the making of this post, the save.tf has officially closed down to new signatures, racking up a generous 343,711 total signatures. I've made my thoughts on FixTF2 clear in the past, where I said that I didn't have much hope that Valve would actually do something, but to my surprise, Valve seemed to have finally stepped in and done something about the bot issue plaguing the game for 5 straight years beyond the usual half-assed band-aid fix. In light of Valve surprising me, I want to talk about what's happened, some speculation as to why Valve is potentially doing this, and what I think comes next from all of this.
So, let's clear some stuff up: Is Casual really bot-free?
From what I've seen and heard, yes!
Starting around June 25th, multiple sources reported a massive drop in the active player count for Team Fortress 2 from Steam Charts, being around 15,000-16,000 users vanishing overnight. Many people suspect this to be a large-scale ban wave Valve enacted, and there is a large amount of evidence to support this. (More info from this video by shounic here) Since then, up until the day this post is being written (July 1st 2024), people have reported that Casual servers across all regions have been fairly bot-free, with only the occasional one popping up, a far cry from a month ago, where servers were flooded with them no matter where you went. I myself even hopped on a few games and to my surprise, there were no bots to be found whatsoever. Its honestly been super refreshing to see the game be this clean, as now its actually fun to play once again. I haven't touched the game in months, but since the bots have been kicked out for a little bit, it feels good to play once more. If you haven't played the game for a while cause of the bots, now's your chance to hop in and enjoy the game. Its actually fun to play now that the bots have been squashed. On top of that, (as of the time this post is being written), Valve appears to still be actively curbing cheaters and bots from the game, even setting up a dedicated Steam support page for anyone who gets a game ban here.
So, why's Valve doing any of this?
This is where I'm going to step into speculation territory, as Valve being Valve means there's barely any information they will share with the public, but I'll do my best to come up with some logical explanations. I would say that Valve doing a ban wave has both a short-term goal and a long-term goal. The short-term goal was Valve was always intending to do a ban wave, it just took a while to do. What I think happened was Valve took a while to collect a database of known bot accounts and (presumably) their hosters, and from there, once Valve felt they were comfortable with the amount they had collected, they pulled the trigger and proceeded to wipe them out. They obviously couldn't just outright say "Hey, we're gonna do a wipe of the bots soon" because that would have given the hosters plenty of time to set up proactive measures to make Valve's job harder. The only evidence I really have for this is the dropoff of players on Steam Charts, which shows around 15k-16k players mysteriously disappeared from the game, which seems to point to Valve issuing a game ban toward said accounts/deleting them entirely. Alternatively, Valve could have banned a limited amount of accounts, much lower than the 15-16k shown by Steam Charts, but it sent a scare to hosters who deactivated their bots and took them off the game once they knew Valve was watching them, but this explanation I don't have much evidence to prove beyond scattered Discord screenshots of supposed hosters telling people to change their bot configurations due to Valve clamping down on them. The long-term goal of this, though far-fetched and lacking evidence to support, could have to do with Deadlock, their next game, as a proactive measure to prevent these same malicious actors from flooding the game on Day 1, something many people have pointed out and what's happened to CS2 not even a year into its launch.
(UPDATE: Ok I might as well address this cause it did come up while I was writing the post, but a Team Fortress 2 DLC for an upcoming Funko Pop game called Funko Fusion was announced, and people have said that the only reason why Valve squashed the bots was because Valve wanted the game to look good in time for the crossover.
Now I am by no means a fan of Funko Pop, I think they look a bit ugly and there's a myriad of other things people take issue with, but that's all outside the scope of this post. I personally don't care that this is happening to begin with, as Funko Pops are something I routinely forget about, so as far as the DLC existing, I don't care that much. That being said, if it is true that Valve only squashed bots due to this collab happening to begin with, then that is pretty sad and disappointing to see, with how Valve wasn't motivated to fix the issue until a different company came knocking and asked them to do something cause they didn't want the DLC to look bad. But since there's no confirmation this is the case, Valve does have some level of plausible deniability here, and ultimately, something good did come from this, at a (to me, cause I couldn't give a shit about Funko) nonexistant cost so I won't complain)
So now time to return to the last part of the question in the title: What comes next?
Well for one thing, the war has not been won yet.

A big mistake with SaveTF2 was once Valve tweeted that they apparently "heard" us and were working to improve things, people largely declared victory and chose to stop there. Yet things didn't substantially improve since then, only cascading into a far worse situation. This time around, we cannot give up as quickly as last time. We are on the cusp of victory, but we need to keep the pressure on Valve. Keep holding them accountable for the bot issue. Put pressure on them to get rid of the bots for good. Don't let them off the hook and give them a slap on the wrist for only repelling the bots for a little bit, because believe me, as soon as Valve stops doing anything and slinks back into the shadows, the bots will return, and they will be far worse than anything we've seen thus far. It happened two years ago, it will happen again if we just declare victory now and go home. What Valve is doing is a great change of pace and they do deserve some praise for what they're doing, but we must make sure they stay committed to fixing the issue at hand. The best time for Valve to fix the issue was 5 years ago. The second best time is here and now. For now, hop on a few games and enjoy the (relatively) clean servers. We've earned a small break after our victory, but once you're done, make sure to grab your best bot-stomping boots, because our job is far from over.

TEAM DIGITAL ART CONTEST - ARTISTS OF THE APOCALYPSE
This challenge is here to connect artists and grow our art skills! In the future, it may change to OC’s as an option as well as yourselves or profile pictures!
Every time we do this, there will be a new theme! This contest will most likely be held every year to six months, depending on how this one goes!
This contest started local to a fandom for a Webtoon called Cinderella Boy, but now it’s open to all artists across the internet. The top three teams of 15 people or less will receive one of three creative projects as prizes.
1st Place 🥇 : A choice of either: A SHORT comic about any of the teams survival/team member’s OC’s survival in this apocalypse (Maximum 25 Panels, the team can write the script or I can) OR a longer short story about any team’s members in this apocalypse. 3k-7k, also written by me
2nd Place 🥈: Choice of either: 1. Short story of any team surviving the apocalypse, (1.5k to 2.5k words) OR 2. Low detail art of five OC’s/Characters/People on any team, colored (Waist Up) OR 3. SHORT mini comic! (Maximum 10 panels, script can be me or the team)
3rd Place 🥉: 10 Characters/People/OC’s drawn bust up, colored
Here's how it works after you join the server:
Welcome to the bunker!
It's the end of the world, discord bots have Infiltrated every corner of technology, and now? They're turning on us. They've Infiltrated everything from banks to nukes, but users from all different situations across the world somehow got together- In three bunkers.
Now, it's your turn to make the art to save our spirits! Teams of each bunker will win different prizes, but only one will survive. Here's how the contest works!
1. You go to "Sign Up" channel under "Bunker Contest! and say something along the lines of, "I want to sign up." (DM me instead if you want to be a judge I'm @notaluma)
2. I assign you all to three random teams, and every team gets assigned a private chat on the server, and a magma
3. Each team will be secretly assigned an opposing one, and each member assigned a secret opposing member of that team to draw! You cannot share with anyone but your team who your drawing, which means you don't know who's drawing you!
If you want yourself IRL to be drawn, there will be a channel to post pictures of yourself for whoever is drawing you. Otherwise, it will just be profile pictures.
Your own drawings of yourself works too, but people are welcome to do their own styles
4. Each team will receive a blank bunker background on magma, you will then plan out together where each drawing will go, and what they'll be doing. Example:
"I want Maneater313 to be eating chips with ShakeltOnBabe in this spot."
5. You draw your person, onto the canvas as discussed.
6. Judging! Your team's final drawings will be ranked by each judge on a scale of one to five in three categories:
1. Fun-ness to look at and experience
2. Teamwork and Creative Flow/Cohesion
3. Creativity
7. I tell each team that died how they did. (Non-Graphic, pretty much all jokes)
Everyone has about three more hours to set up, good luck!

New Minecraft Server
Hello, as anyone who follows me may have seen over the past week or so, I've been working to make one of my minecraft servers public worthy. I'm hoping to meet more people to play the game with this way and have a chill time on the server together!
The server is a completely vanilla friendly SMP, however bc the backend runs on Fabric certain client side mods are supported and will work with the server. You can get the exact list in the server info channel once you've whitelisted yourself if you're interested in using any mods. Still, whether you want to mod or not I'm sure it'll be a fun time. Through a combo of serverside mods and datapacks I've created what I hope feels like a vanilla+ experience where the player doesn't actually have to install anything beyond the server resource pack (it prompts this on join). It's a no grief server with a land claim system to help you keep your stuff safe.
Because I'm managing this server with only my sister (who I roped into being an admin lol) to help me, I'm managing it through Discord. I practically live on Discord, so linking everything to a server on there should make it easy for me to be on top of any issues in a timely manner. I have a mod role prepared in the case it happens to get big enough where I need to recruit some, but I'm no famous person so I'm honestly just not expecting that level of traffic. Once in the Discord, you'll be able to add yourself to the whitelist with the server's bot.
I very much go into essay writing mode for posts like this, but I'm really mostly hoping to have a chill place we can all play Minecraft together! If you're interested, just use the Discord link in the post to hop on in!

While there’s no shortage of social media platforms available today, choosing the right ones can be challenging. To help, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 social media apps every student should be using in 2025 — not just for entertainment, but for education, growth, and staying connected.
1. LinkedIn: Your Professional Launchpad
Why It Matters to Students:
LinkedIn may not be the first app that comes to mind when thinking about social media, but it’s an absolute game-changer for students preparing for life after graduation. It’s a professional networking platform where students can build a digital resume, connect with industry professionals, and explore internships and job opportunities.
Key Features for Students:
Professional Profile Creation: Think of it as your digital resume. You can highlight your education, certifications, skills, and projects.
Networking: Connect with classmates, alumni, professors, and professionals from your dream companies.
Job Search: Use LinkedIn’s job search tool to find internships and entry-level positions tailored to your career interests.
LinkedIn Learning: Offers free and paid courses on everything from coding to public speaking.
Student Tip:
Start building your LinkedIn profile in your first year of college. Share your accomplishments and engage in meaningful content to grow your network over time.
2. Instagram: Visual Inspiration Meets Creativity
Why It Matters to Students:
Instagram is still one of the most influential platforms among students in 2025. While it’s popular for sharing photos and reels, it’s also a hub for student communities, educational creators, influencers, and even university pages that keep you updated on events and opportunities.
Key Features for Students:
Instagram Reels & Stories: Great for micro-learning, quick tips, and following student influencers who share useful hacks and content.
Study Pages: Many students create or follow studygrams — pages dedicated to study tips, motivation, and productivity.
Group Chats: Use Instagram DMs to create study groups or collaborate on college events.
Live Sessions: Many educators and mentors host Q&A sessions, tutorials, and discussions on trending topics.
Student Tip:
Curate your feed to follow creators that motivate and educate you — don’t let it become just a scrolling trap.
3. Discord: The Ultimate Study + Hangout App
Why It Matters to Students:
Discord started as a platform for gamers, but today it’s become one of the most versatile apps for students. Whether you want to set up a study server, hang out with classmates, or participate in niche academic communities, Discord makes it seamless.
Key Features for Students:
Servers & Channels: Create or join servers focused on topics like computer science, literature, design, or any subject of interest.

Student Tip:
Use Discord to form small study pods with classmates — it’s less formal than Zoom and often more productive.
4. YouTube: Your On-Demand University
Why It Matters to Students:
YouTube remains one of the best educational platforms available — for free. Whether you’re stuck on calculus or curious about marketing trends, you can find channels dedicated to your subject with in-depth tutorials and easy-to-understand explanations.
Key Features for Students:
Diverse Content: From 2-minute concept reviews to full lecture playlists.
YouTube Shorts: Bite-sized educational content ideal for quick revisions.
Live Classes and Webinars: Many educators and experts host free live sessions.
Channel Memberships: Some channels offer exclusive resources, Q&A sessions, and downloadable study materials.
Popular Student-Friendly Channels (2025):
Ali Abdaal (study tips and productivity)
CrashCourse (academic subjects)
Fireship (for computer science and tech)
Khan Academy (math, science, and more)
Student Tip:
Create custom playlists for each subject or topic to organize your revision and tutorials efficiently.
5. Reddit: Your Anonymous Learning Ally
Why It Matters to Students:
Reddit may not have the glitz of Instagram or the professionalism of LinkedIn, but it’s an underrated gem for students who want honest advice, community support, and in-depth discussions. It’s where students go when they want unfiltered opinions, answers, and academic camaraderie.
Key Features for Students:
Subreddits: Join communities like r/college, r/AskAcademia, r/engineeringstudents, or r/gradadmissions.
Ask Anything: Get real answers to questions about course selection, studying abroad, mental health, or life hacks.
Resource Sharing: Find links to books, study materials, and open-access journals.
AMAs (Ask Me Anything): Participate in Q&A sessions with professors, professionals, and grad students.
Student Tip:
Use Reddit with discretion — while it’s great for community insight, verify facts before taking action on serious academic or career decisions.
Honorable Mentions
While the above five are our top picks, here are a few others that can still be extremely useful depending on your goals:
X (formerly Twitter): Great for following academic professionals and university accounts.
Telegram: Offers large group chats and channels for notes, books, and exam updates.
TikTok: Educational creators are growing fast here, though it requires self-discipline to avoid endless scrolling.
Final Thoughts: Making Social Media Work for You
Social media can be both a distraction and a superpower — the difference lies in how you use it. The platforms listed above are transforming the student experience in ways we couldn’t have imagined a decade ago. From getting career guidance on LinkedIn to learning physics on YouTube or joining a coding community on Discord, there’s something out there for every learner.
Pro Tips for Healthy Social Media Use:
Set time limits for scrolling apps to stay productive.
Use notifications wisely — turn off non-essential alerts.
Follow accounts that add value to your academic and personal goals.
Take regular digital detox breaks to refresh your mind.
In 2025, being digitally smart is just as important as being book smart. So, take control of your social media, align it with your student goals, and let these platforms help you grow, learn, and connect.

Building the Ultimate Music Library: A Guide for Modern Listeners
In today’s fast-paced world, music is more than just entertainment—it’s a lifeline. Whether it’s creating the perfect playlist for a road trip, discovering new genres, or revisiting classics, having an ultimate music library is essential. The combination of powerful tools like Spotify and community platforms like Discord has made curating and enjoying music easier than ever. In this guide, we’ll explore how to build the ultimate music library with a mix of nostalgia, innovation, and cutting-edge tools.
1. Create the Perfect Playlist for Every Occasion Playlists are the heart of any music library. They let you curate a mood, tell a story, or simply keep track of your favorite songs. But building the perfect playlist can be an art form. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out these Spotify playlist ideas that cater to every vibe—from workout anthems to mellow study tunes.
A few tips for crafting your playlists:
Organize by Genre: Create separate playlists for rap, indie, rock, or lo-fi beats.
Mood-Based Curation: Try playlists like "Sunday Chill," "Motivation Boost," or "Rainy Day Blues."
Collaborate: Use Spotify’s collaborative playlist feature to let friends add their favorite tracks.
The beauty of playlists is their versatility. They can grow, evolve, and adapt to your changing tastes and lifestyle.
2. Revisit Iconic Albums That Shaped Music History No music library is complete without acknowledging the greats. The best rap albums of all time are a must-have for any collection. These albums not only define a genre but also tell stories that transcend music. Think of classics like Nas’s Illmatic or Tupac’s All Eyez on Me, which resonate with fans across generations.
Including such albums in your library enriches your listening experience, offering a blend of powerful lyrics, impeccable production, and timeless artistry. Even if rap isn’t your primary genre, exploring iconic albums can broaden your musical horizons and appreciation for the craft.
3. Enhance Group Listening Experiences Music is often best enjoyed in the company of others. If you’ve ever wanted to share music with friends or enjoy a synchronized listening session, learning how to play music in Discord is a game-changer. Discord, a popular platform for communities, allows users to stream music through bots like Hydra or Rythm.
Here’s how to get started:
Set Up a Music Bot: Invite a bot to your server and configure it.
Create a Playlist Queue: Add songs from YouTube or Spotify.
Sync With Friends: Enjoy live listening sessions while chatting.
Group listening fosters a sense of connection, whether you’re hosting a virtual party or studying with friends.
4. Discover Your Favorite Songs and Reflect on Them Every music lover has that one track they play on repeat—a song that resonates deeply. But what makes a song your favorite? Is it the melody, the lyrics, or the memory tied to it? Reflecting on what's your favorite song can be a profound experience.
To create a personal touch in your music library, consider these ideas:
Journaling Songs: Write down why certain tracks mean so much to you.
Thematic Playlists: Organize your library based on themes like “Songs That Make Me Smile” or “Melancholy Moments.”
Share and Compare: Ask friends about their favorites and discover new tracks through their recommendations.
A music library filled with personal favorites becomes more than just a collection; it becomes a story of your life.
5. Recap Your Music Journey with Spotify Wrapped One of the most exciting tools for music lovers is Spotify Wrapped. This feature offers a personalized recap of your year in music, highlighting your top songs, genres, and listening habits. If you’re wondering how to find Spotify Wrapped, it’s simple: log into your Spotify account at the end of the year and check out your Wrapped playlist.
Spotify Wrapped isn’t just a fun summary—it’s a tool to reflect on your evolving tastes. Here’s how you can use it to enhance your music library:
Analyze Trends: Notice patterns in your listening habits and explore similar genres or artists.
Revisit Favorites: Add your top songs of the year to a special playlist.
Set Goals: Challenge yourself to discover new genres or artists in the upcoming year.
Spotify Wrapped is a reminder that music evolves with us, capturing moments and memories year after year.
Conclusion Building the ultimate music library is a journey, not a destination. It’s about exploring new sounds, cherishing old favorites, and staying open to innovation. With tools like Spotify playlists, iconic albums, Discord streaming, and personal reflections, anyone can create a collection that resonates deeply.
So, what’s stopping you? Start curating today and make your music library a reflection of who you are. What are your favorite tips for building a music library? Share your thoughts in the comments below—we’d love to hear them!

Discord Panic
Released in 2015 [1], Discord has grown to become an incredibly popular texting and social media platform. Often ending up on the top 10 of App Store social apps [2], there’s no denying its influence on Internet culture as well.
Like any other social media service, it’s very possible to get addicted to Discord. To let it consume every facet of your being and make you skew your priorities.
I don’t like to think that I’m a Discord addict. But this one night made me wonder…*
5:10 PM, 11/06/2024
It was an ordinary Tuesday. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. I had been back from a long day of grueling work for a few hours. Ugh, screw these papers and documents.
As I typically did, I logged into my social media accounts to check what my favourite influencers were posting. Also what the mediocre but relevant ones were. Gotta make sure my PR doesn’t spiral out of control. I went onto Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr. The usual. Liked a few Tweets as well.
I then wanted to check on my Discord mutuals. Some of them are just acquaintances, but others are as close as online friends can get while being confined to the online realm. Then there are the ambiguous allies - or even those with vague motives for keeping me. And of course, all the servers I can chill out and promote myself in.
After loading up the messaging app, I was greeted by a colourful display of art splashes. I clicked on the login button and entered my credentials as usual. The next step was to press enter.
Here goes, I thought. My daily escape from reality.
Yet the circle kept spinning. It kept loading and loading and loading. I was then shown the bot test. Time to look for road signs and animals, I figured.
I didn’t even get to finish the CAPTCHA.
Minutes Later
God freaking dammit.
Most days, I wouldn’t be this worried about a Discord account. I tend to have more pressing matters to worry about offline. Toxic colleagues, running errands, work. Heck, daily self-care is supposed to be a priority over Discord.
But I freaked out. I scurried and scrambled to get my account back. Refresh, reload, power on and off. Nothing. Checked for other Internet and data connections. Nope. I eventually gave up as it became clear I wasn’t getting back in that day. Technical issues are a sin.
Turns out, Discord became a form of self-care to me. It’s the place where I had fun after a long day. Where I could talk to both strangers and friends about my struggles and be validated. Even checking for messages from rivalries was important to ensure I could deal with stuff before things went crazy.
Now stuck in a slump, I was left with no choice but to do other things in the meantime. Here’s what I did.
-Finish up a book I had been reading but never got around to finishing. Then, read some more.
-Clean up, eat, cook, clean again.
-Do some extra paperwork and fill out documents so I wouldn’t have to worry as much the next day.
-Skim other social media platforms.
-Write this piece (yes, the one you’re reading).
-Sleep.
-Exercise.
Especially when I was off social media, I almost felt…peace. A type of tranquility I haven’t even gotten close to for years. There were still the lingering worries of everyday life offline. A seed of fear that something bad would happen to a mutual and I couldn’t help. But I felt more productive.
One Day Later
I was lucky enough to get my Discord account back the next day. However, I didn’t quite want to stress over what to post in a server next once I got in again. Rather, I left the app and decided to focus on other matters. Whatever happens online, happens. There’s no rush to respond right away most of the time.
None of this means I’m abandoning Discord, of course. I have friends there which I’d lose the opportunity to talk to one-on-one if I left and servers that I can use to promote my content or meet others.
With that being said, it really is nice to use Discord less sometimes.

One of my FB ones is also slotted into Harry Potter, since it was from Luna's point of view.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Autumnal (Hannibal TV)- 110
A Hades & Persephone based story with Will being the Queen of the Underworld and returning home on the autumnal equinox.
His Shadow Suspended on Dust (Hannibal TV)- 74
A post-fall omega verse where Jack catches up with Will and Hannibal a few years later, and he and Will talk.
Estivel (Hannibal TV)- 41
The prequel to Autumnal, with Will and Hannibal's courtship.
It Wasn't Supposed to Happen This Way (Dr. Strange Movie)- 33
A little fluffy Dr. Strange/Loki mpreg I originally posted here.
Beneath the Brine (Hannibal TV)- 26
A story about Will and Hannibal's life after the fall until they're old men.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I was a bit intimidated at first to respond, to be honest, then I thought too much time had passed for a bit. But I respond to almost all of them now (do my best to answer in a different language if they commented in it).
I generally thank everyone for their comment, because I have not received any bad ones yet, and it means a lot to me that they took the time to let me know they enjoyed it. Haven't gotten a lot yet, but I am willing to answer any questions or engage in any nerdy conversations about the fandom.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uh... That one was a bit hard, but I would have to say a Fantastic Beasts story I wrote about Percival Graves called No Man in the Mirror. It's a story where Graves was found and rescued at some point, and feeling like he doesn't exist anymore.
Or another Percival Graves one called Haven't Been the Same (Since I Expired) where Graves is totally erased... By his own actions and choice (can't reveal any more without spoiling it). That one might be more dark than angsty, though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I would have to say my Fantastic Beasts/Harry Potter story, More, from Luna Lovegood's POV. It's really angsty story about why she and Rolf became parents later than everyone else (lots of heartache and miscarriages), but it ends with them having their twins.
8. Do you get hate on fic?
No, I don't think so. I consider myself lucky for that, but I did get a comment by some bot trying to get to join a supposed to discord server for the Marvel fandom.
9. Do you write smut?
Nope. I'll write something kind of 'teasing' and cut-to-black or just skim over it, but no hardcore stuff from me.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Not generally, but I slotted one of my Pokémon ones into both manga and games because it was manga-centric with elements of the games. I also have a Fantastic Beasts/Harry Potter story, but I don't think that counts as a crossover.
I do have an idea for a Hannibal/Supernatural crossover that I hope to cowrite (see below).
I have some fics that take the world from one thing and place the characters from another in there, but I don't generally count those as crossovers unless characters from both things are included. If they do count as crossovers, then I have a Hannibal/Caraval (by Stephanie Garber), Hannibal/The Handmaid's Tale, and a Hannibal/The Third Day (HBO) all collected into a story called Fragments. The Third Day and Caraval ones will eventually be put into bigger stories, hopefully.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of, but if someone asks, I would probably give my permission as long as they credited me as the original writer.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but I've been trying to make plans with @sarcasticsciencefictionwriter for one. I have chapter 1 on the idea, so any sort of work is being held up by yours truly.
I would be excited to be invited to so by the few authors I have had comment conversations with, though!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
It's a tie between Newtina (Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein in FB) and Hannigram (Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham). They're both my favorites, for VERY different reasons.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but probably won't?
I'm not sure if I have one at the moment, but it feels like it's going to be my Percival Graves and Leta Lestrange story, All Night or a Hundred Years. I love it so much and I know exactly how it's going to end, but the middle has just ground to a halt.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Angst and/or angsty love stuff, looking at my fics and original work. I don't really know! 😅 I guess I would have to say it depends on what exactly I'm writing.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
A lot.
Fluff, romance, purposeful humor. A lot of it just seems so cringy to me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I do it when I can. Mostly Lithuanian in Hannibal fics, like mylamasis (beloved) or a few words thrown in here and there. I don't speak any other languages, and what I know of them is usually self-taught by fanfictions, to be honest.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Pokémon! I can't actually remember if it was a Looker story I wrote based off the manga, or an Alain/Mairin fic based off one of my favorite books.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Don't make me choose!
But... I'd have to say Beneath the Brine. I have no idea why. It was my first Hannibal fanfiction, and I just love it so much. I'm also going to slot No Man in the Mirror and an FB Theseus and Lally story I wrote called A Night in New York as well. All three are things I am very proud of.

Heya everyone! I’m launching a Fire Emblem Kincord server. This server is 18+ but otherwise open to everyone who’s kin or fictive from the series or spin-offs!
The server Rules can be found here.
We have channels for all the games/series locations, places to share kin memories, a game to ask other members about their memories. On top of that there’s plenty of places to chat about non FE things, share art, and suggestions are always open on what else to add.
We have roles so members can choose their pronouns, colors, and if they’d like pings or not. We also have a few bots so functions like PluralKit and Dyno’s Starboard are set up and we’re always open to suggestions for more!
Overall it’s a great place for people who have kins or fictives of the FE series or are considering characters from it!
Keep in mind that this server is Doubles Friendly and once again 18+
We have two levels of security for new entrants! When you arrive you’ll only be able to see the Welcome, Rules, and Blacklist. I will let you in shortly upon your arrival after you confirm you are 18+ and have read and agree to the rules. After that go swap your Recruitable Unit role for the Allied Units role to see the rest of the server!
Think that wraps it up. DM me for any questions.
Promo maybe?

Daily Writing Challenge 2025
For those of you not familiar, this is our SEVENTH year running this challenge!
Starting on the FIRST day of each weekly challenge, the list of words will be released in the morning, there will be two words per day to choose from to write about/use (you only have to use one, but both can be used)! You do not necessarily HAVE to use the word itself, but the story can be themed around it! There will also be optional challenges to test your skills with as well!
While this is predominantly a World of Warcraft challenge, other fandoms are more than welcome to participate! Do keep in mind that a few of the words may be Warcraft themed, there will be at least one word per day not specific to WoW.
While we do not have a Discord server, we do have a channel/role in the Succulent Tart Discord to post stories and help encourage each other! Anyone is welcome to join —> HERE
Any questions can go to @turning-through-the-never, @kharrisdawndancer, or @saltsparkle!
IMPORTANT INFO:
1. Be sure you’re following and tagging this tumblr with every story that you write! Keep in mind only three of us are reblogging all the stories here, so have some patience for your story to be reblogged! If your story doesn’t get reblogged that day, please feel free to DM us; tumblr isn’t always the best with notifications! (You will not be able to DM the DWC tumblr directly due to it being a shared account, but you can reach us individually at the tumblrs above!) !! BE SURE TO TAG @daily-writing-challenge IN THE BODY OF THE POST, NOT IN THE HASHTAG AREA, OR WE WILL NOT SEE IT !!
2. Be sure that each story CLEARLY shows the number day we’re on somewhere in the main body of the post - this helps us mods to be able to tag it properly when reblogged! (Most tend to put the number day, as well as the word used at the top of their story.)
3. LIST CONTENT WARNINGS SOMEWHERE EASILY VISIBLE! Stories are bound to get dark and/or sexy, please please please use appropriate warnings at the top of your story and use the ‘read more’ line if necessary!
4. DO NOT USE AI TO WRITE OR REBLOG THE STORIES OF OTHERS TO A BOT NETWORK! We would rather our work be written by humans and read by humans. Also, any stories using AI art will not be reblogged!
5. To keep the same format of tags we’ve been using in previous years, everything will be tagged with:
#februarydwc2025 - #maydwc2025 - #augustdwc2025 - #novemberdwc2025
#februarydayX2025 - #maydayX2025 - #augustdayX2025 - #novemberdayX2025 (X=whatever current # day we’re on)
#yourtumblrurl
Feel free to use them in your own tagging system as well to help keep better track!
OTHER RANDOM FAQ: -You do not have to write every day to participate! Create your own challenge by saying you’ll write for X number of days if you don’t think you’ll be able to do all of them! -If you fall behind, you can post stories for previous days whenever – even after the final day of the challenge.
WEEK ONE: FEBRUARY 9-15 WEEK TWO: MAY 25-31 WEEK THREE: AUGUST TBD WEEK FOUR: NOVEMBER TBD

My #1 post of 2022

Welcome to the Llama Lounge, this is a dedicated server for people who like the Sims 2 and it offers places to chat, share gameplay.
There are very few discords for TS2, and we want to make a REAL server where people can talk about the game, stories, mods and anything else - we'd love to create an active community on discord so we can all connect through more than just blogposts.
Update: To keep trolls / hackers out, you will need to verify using a Dyno bot under the rules section!
Hope to see you there, llama-simblr & vimpse

Imagine you speedrun Undertale and at the end if you go below a certain threshold Flowey pops up and is like "How many hours did you waste to achieve this you idiot?" And he closes the game and forces you to never press X to skip dialogue again or some shit

I think the fandom doesn't use the meme potential of reblogging literally any textpost and tagging it spamton even if it has nothing to do with him. We could change that

Maybe it's because I'm not from the same country as most of my mutuals but it's kind of funny when I read people arguing that Hometown is weird and then list some things that are completely normal for anyone that has slightly different culture.
"But why do they have a hospital with two rooms and someone staying there?" slightly modified Family Health Center (rough translation), next question.
"But What Does Sans Sell? his store is so small why does he have magazines? How would the characters buy X Item?" Have you ever entered a boliche? A corner store? They don't just sell food sometimes I've even bought cleaning products and your average school supplies.
"How is it possible chapter 3 is church day when chapter 2 was a week day?? Do they have school on Saturday?" Deltarune could be set in literally any day of the week if chapter 3 takes places during a local religious holiday. It doesn't need to be some christian Sunday. The school week doesn't even need to be Monday to Friday.
Now "Why is there a bunker far into the Southern edge of town?" is indeed a weird thing and the game is setting it up that way. Go wild with theories.

My #1 post of 2022
NOnonono but the entire point of the promise Sans makes to Toriel about "protecting the human coming through the door". Is that he really doesn't know who she is beyond the conversations they've had so far. And he doesn't know who the human coming out from there is. But they still trust each other to make it happen, regardless of timeline.
This happens regardless of Toriel's fate in the game. If you kill her, but not Papyrus, he still comments on this promise.
And here's the thing. He has to make the decision of trusting this woman he is fond of, but ultimately doesn't know beyond what they've shared together.
And Toriel had to make the decision of trusting him too. She is convinved that the world outside the Ruins will be hostile, because she knows what's happened before. And it fucking hurts to think it could happen again. And yeah I've heard all about it how she "rejected" her duty and didn't make the right choice back then. I think Toriel is somewhat aware of that. Her moving to the Ruins was a choice she made while grieving too, but it is a decsion that goes according to her integrity as well.
ANYWAYS I'm getting sidetracked. What I mean with this post is that the implications of trusting someone else with something that is so personal, because you know your limitations (because of flaws or any other cause), and having that person receive this in a good way is so important.
And while Sans is not the best at actively doing that job, it is still remarkable how much this promise is on his mind.
The VERY LAST THING he does before his No Mery fight is apologizing to Toriel, or his memory of her, because he had to break that promise.
This post is a mess but... I need to rotate them. And also I always get a little mad when people assume that Sans doesn't make that promise when Toriel dies, like in No-Mercy. Because the whole deal about the promise is that it happens before the game, it is not something anyone, not even Flowey, can affect, and it is a reflection of the closeness the two have, so placing this as something Toriel does only if she deems the human a good person, and something Sans only "keeps" when Frisk is pacifist just takes away that weight.
Also go play neutral routes they're super interesting to make character analysis. Different events affect different characters in specific ways.
