╰┈➤ look at this nerd (affectionate), ofc he plays cubecraft. loved it so much that when he didn’t have the actual game, he would play the really bad knockoffs💀 plays on console so you can sit between his legs, lean back, and game with him. cyno hate the split screen because he always gets confused on what side he’s on so he lets you use his switch, that way you’re both still comfortable. he’s more of an explorer if you do get mod packs for him, likes the horror ones the most. there’s nothing like hitting the enemy or shit talking the thing that could potentially one shot you with your s/o‼️ yall crouch a lot, its like a little dance. he really likes the disc “far” it itches his brain in the right way. definitely downloads the little raccoon mobs but then regrets it because he gives up all his berries to them, look at their little begging arms, literally how can you say no to that?? AND THEY WASH THE BERRIES. you both fall asleep to the ambience and to each others breathing all cuddled up ‘n warm. cyno absentmindedly sings the music while chopping wood or mining that shit has you SLUMPED. he kisses your head when you fall asleep, smiling like a silly goober.

╰┈➤ diluc does not understand the concept of minecraft but its okay, he’s just happy to be here. he also doesn’t call it minecraft but “cave game”, the original name, he did his research though it is rare that he actually calls it minecraft. found out that you could breed animals and accidentally made a pack of wolves. diluc is really good with redstone its actually insane😭 he’s the type to protect you the whole time while you’re getting flowers for the house, boyfriend bodyguard. diluc doesn’t play much because of his job but when he does, he’s prepared to sit for hours and spend time with you :(. these are the times where he’s most affectionate, randomly kissing your cheek, getting water for the both of you before you play, etc. luc loves the mod pack “industrial”, he can build machines, how neat is that??? also it has way more OMFP with the added features it has yk? he likes the trains :D

KAEDEHARA KAZUHA

╰┈➤ kazuha has the most expensive equipment yet doesn’t use this shit half of the time unless he’s streaming with heizou??? like im talking msi infinite rs pc, multiple monitors, a graphic drawing tablet, headphones with immaculate sound quality AND!!! the ear cups have fucking cyberpunk 3d wing guards on them. but anyways, minecraft, yes, he plays. in fact, kaedehara has about 10 beaten hardcore worlds every time a new update comes out, he must beat the game again. he rarely plays minecraft without his shaders so when you want to play the original og minecraft, he doesn’t mind, he actually enjoys the nostalgia. so much so the music is actually his background music when he’s just lazing around. words cannot express how much he dislikes (hates) wardens omg. he’ll protect you from them but if there were diamonds behind a warden, ig he’s going somewhere else😭 kazuha gives you random shit, weather that be something really sweet or questionable…

╰┈➤ he’s heard of it, watched people play, just never played it. but when he does… he’s a menace. kaeya got his hands on flint and steel and set an entire jungle on fire… but he can be sweet sometimes! you’re the one protecting his ass while he walks around at night UNARMED to gather blue flowers for you. like you’re cute, but take a shield or something😭 he’s jumped off of a tall building before and landed on half a heart for a stack of bread you didn’t want. he’s rather oblivious to the mobs around him, he once thought shulkers were friends because they were just “silly little guys in little boxes” yk until they almost killed him. you bought him his own skin and introduced him to parrots and now its his favorite animal, he looks like a pirate!!! kaeya is chaotically sweet.

╰┈➤ your boyfriend is good at literally anything else BUT minecraft. its the way this game constantly has it out for him too like what did bro do??🙁 heizou stream’s with kazuha every now and again and on those, he still doesn’t know what to do… he’d rather play on the servers, bedwars in particular. extremely good at bw, you’d rather NOT be his enemy😭😭 wins almost every single game even when he carries, rank 98 in the server. yet when it comes to a casual server between you and him, the chats are filled with his deaths and his hashtagged rages💀 heizou despises silverfish which is also why he hates going into strongholds, they could get stomped on for all he cares! >:( he has texture packs with really beautiful skies and then a picnic mod so he can stargaze with you and eats minecraft cake :(<3

╰┈➤ xiao has the MOST downloaded mod packs, shaders, and worlds. not very expensive mod packs most of the time but when they are, they’re always good. spends his time fighting off mobs at night, #1 totem holder. he even has his own custom skin!!! he’s kinda been waiting for you to ask so when you do play mc together, you already have your own room, but when you voluntarily move your bed into his room to sleep… he melts. xiao loves cuddling while the two of you play, he’d rather your arms around him than the other way around, feels more intimate. you have matching hoodies for occasions like this. he has the dragon mod pack and has his own golden and orange dragon named ‘li’. he doesn’t talk while gaming, curses silently when he gets hit, but other than that doesn’t talk. if you want to talk, he’ll listen, he likes hearing about your day :].

BIONICLE music fans, I need your help

Remember that I once wrote a funky BIONICLE Suite using themes from multiple movies/games etc., for an assignment? If not, it's here:

This suite is very dear to me: I scored top marks in my Arranging class with it, and later won a conducting audition with it. And now, in about a year or so, I will be getting the chance to perform it with a professional symphony orchestra. Like a full orchestra instead of the weird ensemble it was originally written for.

BUT

I need to reinstrumentate it, of course, but that also means that I can update it. The original assignment had a time limit of four minutes; this time I don't have that restriction, so I can basically do whatever the fuck I want.

And this is where I need the fandom's help.

I have a pretty solid base idea of what to do with it, but I want to put in as many nods to the width of BIONICLE as possible. The original suite was based on the music of the first three movies with motifs from mostly the MNOGs thrown in, because those are what mostly marked my personal BIONICLE experience, but BIONICLE is more than that. It's also the GBA games, the console games, the songs, the commercials, the online episodes, the later flash games, the Piraka rap, the singing squid, and so on. Which brings me to what I need you all for:

It could be literally anything; from an entire game soundtrack to just the drum rhythm during one specific section of a game. I'd love to know what BIONICLE music you love or is important to you!

What will I do with this information?

Currently I'm already working on gathering motifs and soundtracks into one musical book, transcribing them into notes and bringing them down to their core elements. This will serve as my vocabulary, of sorts: if I have a collection of themes at my disposal, it will be much easier to see if and how they fit together.

Here is an example of a piece from the Templar episodes that I 'collected': (it sounds off because it's MIDI, but what I did here was write down the actual notes so I can transcribe it for other musicians)

It was a dark and stormy night, the full moon shining through the dark storm clouds that poored heavy rain all night. You sat in bed, bundled up in the multitude of blankets and pillows. The only light in your dark room was the light from your phone screen, the dings and quiet music filling the room along with the sound of rain pittering against the windows.

You were kinda lonely, living alone in the old farm house, the so called “cursed” Woods just behind your house. You chuckled to yourself, you knew the woods wen’t cursed, you knew why people said that it was, the so called “monster” In the woods, with gleaming yellow eyes and sharp teeth, hair like fire straight from hell, pale skin with dark markings like ash and shout. And while most of these things were true, he certainly wasn’t a monster.

A loud knock on your window almost scared you out of your skin. You looked at your window and saw two glowing yellow eyes peeking through. You unbundled yourself and walked over to open it quickly, pulling in the thing from outside. You shut your window quickly and rushed off to grab towels. The tall figure stood there in the dark awkwardly, his hair and fur giveing off a gentle blue glow.

You came back, using your elbow to flip on the lights as your arms were full of towels.

You rushed over and began to dry him off, drapeing a large towl over his head and drying off the rest of him. Once he was dry you pulled him into a hug. “What a coincidence, I was just thinking about you! ” You said happily. “Really!? I just came to… I just… I wanted to see you, maybe game a bit? Maybe cuddle” He said, one hand scratching his cheek slightly, the rossy blush showing vividly on his pale skin.

You stepped back getting a good look at him. His sharp yellow eyes surrounded by dark circles, his pale blue lips that hid sharp pointed teeth, his long blue hair that cascaded like a waterfall down his back and framed his face, it really did look like fire. On top of his head was a set of dark grey entenas, they drooped down slightly almost looking like strands of DNA, they made him look cute. He had pale skin his sides a ashy grey that stopped at his neck, he had two sets of lanky arms, the forearms of each arm covered in thick, fluffy blue fur, the same fiery locks as his hair. It was the same around his neck, thick fluffy fur. His wings were also large, dark grey not quite black, each one with smetrical markings, a deep blue skull on each one.

You wrapped your arms around him in a tight hug, giggling as the fur around his neck tickled your cheek. Fore slim but strong arms wrapped around you, his face nuzzling into your hair to hide his excited grin and bright red cheeks. Your affection would never stop flustering the shy moth, but gods did he want it. Your hugs and kisses, your sweet words and head pats, he craved it. You were the only human- no, the only anything besides ortho that he ever socialsed with, the only other persons company that he craved. Even if he was still shy around you, he still wanted to be around you.

You walked him over to your bed and layed down letting him lay his head on top of your chest, arms wrapped tight around you as the piter-patter of rain mixed with the sound of his calm breathing. His eyes closed tightly as a tiny smile painted his face alongside the bright blush.

You seemed to lay there for hours in each other’s arms as you gently patted his hair, being carful not to hurt his entenas. “So how’s ortho doing? ” You asked. He humed gently before responding, “he doing good, gos on lots of walks to town, makes me worried about him… Again. ” There was a moment of pause as you both thought for a moment. “I could always take him into town, that way you know he’s safe” You said kissing the top of his head, his hair and fur illuminating the immediate space around the two of you. “Y-you’d do that? I’m sure ortho will be happy to hear that” If possible he seemed to snuggle even further against you.

So you layed like that, bundled in blankets and surrounded by pillows, Cuddled up to each other happy and content. You were both relaxed in each other’s company. Nice and warm. Drawn to each other like moths to a flame.

I used the Flycam mod to go to the Black City.

Ever since I first played Origins 13 years ago, I've been curious about how the devs represented the Black City in the game. There are a few main masses, and they generally look equidistant from most areas of the Fade. But I noticed a long time ago that when Sloth sends you to your personal nightmare in the fake Weisshaupt in Broken Circle, one of the Black City islands looks way, WAY bigger. I just happened to be playing that section today, and I'd been using the new Flycam mod to take some screenshots. It occurred to me: why not see the throne of the Maker, and find out if it is empty? 

I was interested in this mass of 6 islands, which appears from different angles in different sections of Sloth's realm.

It takes a LONG time to get here, even with flycam. About 5 minutes realtime. but it's worth it. It was so cool but I was also unexpectedly and HUGELY creeped out. The half-rendered textures feel like something out of a weird nightmare, the lighting is strange, and some sections are completely hidden in mist until they loom over you. And the creepy Fade music was playing over the top of everything.

Getting closer, the structures become clearer. This one looks kind of industrial and factory-like:

The highest island has these long strings coming down from it, almost like a deep sea squid.

The main mass is GIGANTIC, so big I couldn't get it in one screenshot. It's like a huge capsized ship, like the titanic. Or like a massive eldritch sea creature mid-dive with its tail flipping up. Somwhere between organic and mechanic. It's honestly SO CREEPY. Also I have megalophobia and this thing was setting it off BIG TIME.

This thing is so big that the perspective got really confusing and it was sending the camera HAYWIRE. It kept shaking and pinging around. This is looking vertically down:

Next I was interested in this guy way off to the left, who looked like he had some cool structures. We shall call him: genie lamp!

The structures here are far more uniform and city-like. They reminded me of cathedrals and cloisters. Honestly the atmosphere here was neat. The models are obviously low-poly but the fog kind of obscures that, the lighting is almost pretty (although sometimes it hit weird and creeped me out again). I love my lil dark academia genie lamp. This is like if Hogwarts went to hell (which, granted, it kind of has considering everything going on right now).

Anyway I guess I have the Blight now. Corypheus and me can be buddies.

after a long, tedious, and rather eventful week ( at least five fights broke out, someone passed out during their audition, two people had to be dragged out of the audition room ), poser records began working on creating the foundation of their brand. months passed with little to no information regarding their first idol getting out. side from a leak speculating it was going to be a young woman in her early 20's, nothing else hit the media. what did cause a frenzy in early 2003 was the possible brewing partnership between joon and former teen popstar YAHYA UYEN, famously known as YAYA, after she denounced her father's record label for financially cheating her throughout her entire career.

2005 was the year everyone was waiting for. poser records debuted their first female soloist and icon-to-be known as KANDI. her debut album, "candygirl," was deemed a timeless classic with songs like sweet fantasy and honey peaking at #1 across various charts. for the next four years, her music dominated the industry; songs like 10 minutes, 1&ONLY, and your girl ( only girl ) becoming unforgettable gems for generations to come. kandi will be one of the few korean idols to breakout internationally in america thanks to collaborations with brands like von dutch, baby phat, cover girl, and juicy couture. her time in the studio weren't limited, either as her voice can be heard on the soundtracks for films such as the devil wears prada, john tucker must die, bring it on: all or nothing, and the house bunny.

with kandi's career seemingly unmatched by competitors, poser decided to strike while the iron was hot and in 2008, debuted their male soloist named JAEHWAN. similar to his senior, jaehwan became a success overnight with his studio album "a quarter past midnight" as it topped the r&b charts thanks to the hit thinkin' bout you ( on my mind ). while his future releases ( chance of us, dangerous woman ) did exceptional, it was the pop hit c.a.n.d.y that drove him into stardom as it soft launched the soon-to-be relationship between him and kandi in 2010. jaehwan has since become a famed vocalist and actor with his breakout role being the heirs in 2013 and notable characters later on in train to busan, crash landing on you, and squid game.

as poser records achieved bigger and greater heights, it was only a matter of time until the ugly side of fame began showing its head. 2009 will begin a pattern of failed female soloists starting with the attempted debut of NA ISOM, or ISA. from the very start of her career, isa was bashed relentlessly by media outlets and on online forums for simply existing; no one understood where the hate came from but poser still continued with pushing her out. things took a more serious turn when it was rumored that she had a stalker who made threats on her life. the company took every safety precaution they could but it was useless after isa was involved in a three-car pileup after trying to escape her assailant in her own vehicle one night. though isa survived the wreck, a young couple did not, resulting in her receiving more backlash than before. four months later, poser had announced that isa was terminating her contract due to her own mental health as well as funding the families of the victims before disappearing from the spotlight in 2013.

just in 2010, the company had introduced REINA as an upcoming artist but she never got to see her debut as just a week before her schedule was to be revealed, allegations of reina abusing her sick, elderly mother had started to spread. she was quickly removed from the label with no statement and proper announcement, but her name on the website was taken down as well as her photos. following her was HAN DOYEON, a former SM TRAINEE many people anticipated to see debut. luckily for her, she managed to release two mini albums before her career was cut short. in january of 2015, doyeon was exposed for blackmailing a famous athlete with a video of them having an affair in exchange for money to pay off her debts. as you have probably guessed already, she was kicked from the company but still tried to make a name for herself elsewhere.

outside of the dumpster fire that was 2009-2015, poser records had to deal with the more minor scandals happening between kandi and jaehwan. the first came after the couple broke up in 2013 when a recorded conversation between jaehwan and a friend leaked. in the audio, he described his relationship with kandi to be a "fucking mistake." he went on to call her entitled and sometimes referred to her as a "the devil" the longer she was the topic. news channels, journalists, and kandi's fans condemned him for his words, but they all somehow failed to bring up the part when jaehwan briefly mentioned her being tied to the incidents with the former women of poser.

unfortunately ( or fortunately ) for him, he was only placed on hiatus after giving a public apology to kandi. despite him going radio silent, kandi wasted no time slandering his name even further into the ground. she revealed that their relationship to him was a publicity stunt to increase his sales as they were performing poorly compared to estimated amount he should've been making. though there was an article that was published but removed clarifying that she was the one who came up with the idea of them dating after her small scandal of cursing out a retail employee until she cried, people believed her every word, his public support only dropping further and further from there.

despite the hiccups here and there, poser records still maintains major success thanks to the future debuts of their idol groups. their groups, while proving to more rambunctious than their seniors in every way possible, prove that their forces to be reckoned with no matter what the world throws at them. is this a good thing, or a bad thing? that's sorta up to them to decide.

okay, i got a bit dramatic with this one, but can you blame me? after all, everything was bigger in the eighties. hair was bigger, shoulder pads were bigger, everything was bigger. music was bigger, and music related subcultures gained a super heavy footing. while the punk movement had already existed and the goth subculture had started to build in the late seventies, they both hit their heyday in the 1980s! glam rock was huge in the eighties, and there was actually a fair bit of androgyny in rock styles and subcultural styles. far before the athleisure trend we see today (i still dont understand what athleisure is?), was the athletic fad of the eighties, heralded by olivia newton john's "physical". this athletic fad is where we see the legwarmers and the spandex that you'll see in every modern day 80s-themed halloween costume. much like in the 1930s, fashion drew from film and hollywood, and john hughes' teen films influenced the fashion of the youth, which in turn inspired more teen films.

guys, we're getting super close to modern day, and i have to admit: i have no fucking idea what modern trends are. i have like five outfits and most of them involve band tee shirts.

splatoon 3 hot take turned impromptu essay

was stuck offline in splatoon 3 because internet was actin up and i realized how pretty the photomode splatoon 3 filters are compared to the actual game

i was taking photos on brinewater and thought. damn. this game looks fine but i miss how VIBRANT splatoon 1 was! i wish i could play sploon 3 with this photomode filter on all the time. and brinewater is the best map for this because of the sunset lighting! so i went to one of the worst offenders mapwise for general color—undertow spillway. it is a warm gray mess:

for someplace underground, it’s WAY too warm of a tone—even if there are skylights, they aren’t very well defined, as they’re off in the background—they’d be better with some light shafts to pop out more, imo.

so here’s undertow with photomode filter #6 (this would’ve been a video but tumblr limits to 1 video per post):

and i think this looks a lot nicer, colorwise! the icky warm gray is shifted to a soft pink—and while that’s still not in keeping with the lack of obvious skylights, it works better than warm gray.

so then i opened ibis x paint and got to work on a filter that would hopefully help elevate the entire game’s look:

on top is photomode filter #6, in the middle is the original screenshot, and on the bottom is my proposed filter.

i upped the contrast, brightness, and saturation a bit, then added a 5% pure magenta (#FF00FF) overlay layer on top of that. then i added a slight gaussian blur to emulate antialiasing, which nintendo refuses to do for some reason!

and i wanna play splatoon like that! i miss the vibrancy and intricacy of splatoon 1…

incoming splatoon 1 essay‼️

not only were the colors eye-bleachingly bright, but the overall game feel was much more immersive—especially in ink physics. you could paint trees, and the ink would drip down through leaves as if it were rain… ink splatter would respond to the movements of platforms, keeping its intertia as it dripped! you could see the textures of surfaces through the ink, as if it were an actual liquid instead of a layer of thick oil. 3 doesn’t have any of those special touches.

there’s also the music… 1’s ost feels so much more WEIRD and experimental than the later games, and that really helps cement that this is not human society—this is a new thing—which tracks for splatoon 1, as it was so zany nobody had ever seen anything quite like it before! splatoon 2 follows this sheer melting-pot of brashness and creativity with evolving and varied styles—where once was punk and weird samples in Squid Squad is now groovy rock in Wet Floor, jazz in Ink Theory, and also whatever Sashi-Mori was. also i <3 chirpy chips. splatoon 3’s music goes back to that punk, but i feel that it loses some of the charm and creativity of the first two games. C-side is pure metal, and hardly uses any weird instruments. there have sparsely been other splatbands involved with regular battle music��Yoko&tgb call back to the jazz of Ink Theory which i love! Off the Hook’s new tracks delve into a new style in piano rock. but the main band kind of falls flat to me. :(

let’s talk stages. in splatoon 1, stages were wildly different from each other, including skateparks, construction sites, underpasses, malls, sewage plants, and other locals that are culturally underground. the rest of the trilogy moves away from this in a story standpoint, as ink battles evolve from punky, diy competitions into full-fledged championships in 2 and 3, with advancing battle infrastructure as time progresses. that’s fine, and honestly it’s cool to see that kind of worldbuilding! but in 1, each stage was designed about and influenced by the area it represented. Arowana Mall is a straight line with high vantage points on the second/third story because it’s a mall. Pirahna Pit features convenyor belts that shuffle refuse around because it’s a trash plant. Blackbelly Skatepark has so many hills and valleys because it’s a skatepark, for goodness sake. splatoon 3’s original stages have some of this charm, but it feels lost in ambiguity. why doesn’t Mincemeat Metalworks have small moving platforms on cranes or other heavy machinery? Idk, have some grates and one-way drops, and a car on a post. why isn’t there any water incorporated into the stage design of Brinewater Springs? Idk, have 2 paintable walls and a tetris piece. 3’s original stages have little to no connection between their locals and the geometry, which make it feel same-y compared to previous games.

maybe this is because of the inflexible philosophy of the designers—or their corporate oversight, maybe. for stages, you need to make a straight line or tetris piece with few routes to push, in an effort to promote the game’s main premise of Chaos. for music, you need to make punk songs that aren’t too weird so they don’t drive away the parents. maybe the little ink touches could have been missing because development was rushed?

i honestly dont know why it happened out this way—perhaps the splatoon team just needed more time to cook, in order to squeeze out that extra 20% of game feel? or maybe it was that speculated corporate oversight, i dunno. things WERE missing on launch—notable exceptions being X rank, online tableturf lobbies, and no more than three salmon run maps. i know we’ve yet to even get the DLC but for being about 75% of the way through the game’s content lifespan, but splatoon 3 feels incomplete. there have been improvements, yeah! i just wish there could’ve been more. i would rather have waited another year for splatoon 3 if it were polished that much better, y’know?

i honestly feel like splatoon 1 captured that creative, no-holds-barred mantle of Chaos better than 3 does. 3 feels… flanderized, in a way. the curse of trilogies, perhaps? writing about it more, it feels like not only have the in-game sports of turf war been ripped out of its seedy home and thrust into the spotlight, and gone “mainstream” (see: massive squidsport companies investing in multimillion battle lobbies with holograms and lockers [sunken scroll about that!], flying coffee machines that grant you brief invincibility, new rules and techniques that allow squid surges and rolls, etc.), but also the Real Life Physical Video Game Cartridge of Splatoon has been popularized massively with the sequels on the Switch. maybe i’m not missing the “vibrancy” of splatoon 1 when i look at the colors and photomode filters of splatoon 3, but instead the inherent punkiness and counterculture inspiration that i see in the original.

You feel more like a squid on land than a human, somehow both bulbous and flat at the same time,  looking at the person who siren-like has beckoned you away from safety.  Slim sculpted legs adorned with knee high socks and topped with a bright green shiny pleated mini skirt and ripped crop top, the person in front of you can only be described as an angel made of neon filth. Hyunjin’s blonde hair pulled back into a half ponytail, pouty lips falling into a half smile as he watches you look him over.

“May I?” He places his arms over top of your shoulders familiarly, asking for forgiveness more than permission as you dumbly freeze and babble. “The name’s Hyunjin. Or sir. Or mommy, if that’s up your alley. Never daddy though.” His tone is pitched just so that it slots conveniently between the wavelengths of the music and can carry effortlessly from his lips to your ear.

You try to sway to the rhythm like everyone else, shifting weight between your legs, gliding your torso in the opposite direction. Nothing fits quite right with the music or the mood and the sudden self consciousness nukes any flow you feel you gain from the seconds of attempting to groove. A gentle guiding hand moves from your shoulder, trickling all the way down the column of your spine to your low back, and presses you pelvis to pelvis with Hyunjin so closely that you each slot a foot between each others legs. “Explore,” Hyunjin urges in your ear, “I’m the only one watching. No one else cares right now. It’s just us.”

The simple command from them is all it takes, hypnotic as his voice is, to lose yourself. The buzz of his touch at the base of your spine still lingers. You let your vision go hazy and unfocused, zoomed out to give way for your other senses. Hyunjin licks his lips, feeling your body grow more pliant, eyes glassy, as you slip into a trance with him. A small laugh yanks your tenuous thread, your brain hurtling back down through the atmosphere and smacking into your system. Naturally your vision snaps to where you think the source of the sound is. Are they laughing at me? Do I look dumb? Your eased mind revving back into full panicked monitoring. Hyunjin presses your heads together, your eyes naturally falling to the floor to avoid his. “Now what did I say about others, my pet? Just us.” Sweat drips from their brow to yours. Their scent is intoxicating, filling your lungs and hazing your mind. Which Pretty Cure Would WIN Squid Game? (2024 Update)

Hello.

A couple years back I made an analysis post discussing which Pretty Cure would win Squid Game in that scenario, taking their skills in mind and being as non-bias as I could.

Since then, more seasons have come out. AND my opinions on certain characters placements have changed as I realized some errors in my logic.

So we’re re-doing it!

Fun, right???

I’m going to go through every challenge in Squid Game and see who’d be front runners and who’d be eliminated. Until we get a final two and then a winner.

Some rules though:

No weapons

No power ups. This is based on their own natural skill. If their Pretty Cure powers give them skills they don’t have without it, then that ability will not be factored.

I am only doing major Cure characters. Bright & Windy are the same characters of Bloom & Egret. No ancient Cures, no 11th hour ally’s, as they simply don’t have enough about them to factor.

My opinion on them as characters doesn’t matter here. Some characters I don’t care for can do great in the game while some of my favorites get eliminated very early. I’ll give reasons why I make the choices I do

I won’t be doing Wonderful. That season isn’t done yet. We can’t factor it. There’s just not enough info.

So that gives us 78 Cures as contestants.

Let’s begin.

Red Light Green Light

This game is about patience and mobility. Contestants have go get across the finish line without getting caught moving by a red light. An inability to stay still and wait the light out will spell doom.

Front Runners Of This Challenge Include:

The Suite Cures ; I never factored it the last time I did this, but I realized that because they’re all music based characters, they have an excellent sense of rhythm that gives them a huge advantage. So they’d be really good at the game and knowing when a red light would hit. (Plus I think Ellen and Ako are the types to hide behind people) So this season of Cures pass with flying colors.

Cure Beauty ; If you rewatch Smile, she specifically has avoided getting snagged at stuff more than her teammates. She’s very calm in situations and is persistent in all of them.

Cure Amour ; She’s a literal robot, so… you know. I know some would say that should be non-factored. But it’s not from any Pretty Cure powers, that’s just her body. As such, she’d be great at following directions.

Cure Macaroon & Cure Cosmo ; Same reasons. They’re the types that would take advantage of the game and hide behind people. Can’t ignore that.

And… that’s all the front runners I can think of.

Now for the hard part.

For the Cures that DON’T pass this….

I think Futari Wa-Fresh are all fine.

Blossom. I know people are gonna ask. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she passes this, but BARELY. I know she’s very shy and scared, but unlike some others I can think of, she has shown she can be patient even in scary situations.

As for her partner, Cure Marine, that’s our first one to go.

I know. We’re already losing fan favorites.

But this girl just CANNOT stay still no matter what you do. On top of her being insanely reckless of a character.

There’s even an episode where she actually got frozen and her face was STILL moving.

Especially if she thinks she can take a bullet to the forehead…

Yeah she’s a goner.

Sorry Erika Stan’s.

And we’re keeping the ‘getting rid of fan favorites’ train going, because Cure Happy is also out.

More than other pinks, she’s a huge klutz. And that’s for multiple reasons, whether that be hyperactivity, recklessness, or just plain bad luck. If anyone’s the first to trip under pressure, it’d be her.

Cure Peace is joining her.

I love her as a character.

BUT a main trait of hers is that she is extremely sensitive and a huge crybaby.

First bullet fired, she’s gonna freak out and try to run away.

Cure Felice is eliminated for a different reason.

This one in particular solves all her problems through magic. Which isn’t allowed here.

Considering that overconfidence, she’d not care about a red light and try to run it. Not because she’s arrogant, but because she’s a kid without that discipline.

Cure Custard is also out.

For the same reasons as Yayoi was pretty much. Especially since she is based on a squirrel, which is a pretty skittish creature that jumps at anything.

And the final one eliminated this round is…

Cure Sparkle.

One big factor of this character is that she is not good at following directions. We know she means well, but in a game like this, that’s just a fatal flaw that spells your doom.

I was debating on Cure Earth as well, but after thinking about it I think she’d pass barely. She’s a newborn born in an adults body and incredibly naive about the world but she’s not necessarily dense. (No offense Sparkle)

That’s 6 Cures out ; 72 Cross the Finish Line and move on to the next round

Honeycomb

In this challenge, contestants have to perfectly carve out a shape of a honeycomb candy. Breaking it will result in failure. This challenge involves contestants to be able to manage a steady hand to be able to carve out the shape.

Right off the bat, EVERY Cure from KiraKira and Delicious Party are INSTANT survivors.

No questions asked. Both of these seasons are heavily based around cooking, KiraKira especially specializing in candy. Which means these Cures have the exact skills, so this challenge is a breeze.

I mean except for Himari, who already got eliminated. RIP.

Amour, AGAIN, would also pass this.

Yes her strength is… nuts. And inhuman even without powers. BUT not only does she have great steadiness, she also proved she can carve stuff out well.

It’s not about strength. It’s about controlling that strength. And Ruru has proved she can.

For that same reason, Cure Sunny is surprisingly also safe.

Yes she’s the hardest hitter of her team, and a volleyball player, but 1) Volleyball does require you to aim the ball with your arm effectively, AND 2) Akane has a culinary background and shown to have skills to save herself.

Cure Honey is also a very obvious stand out.

Same reasons for Akane, except even more so. Food and cooking is pretty much her entire character.

And… come on her name is literally Cure Honey. She’s got this.

Cure Scarlet also survives.

Thanks to her violin skills and her nature of tranquility with her craft, she knows exactly what she’s doing.

So we have quite a few Cures that pass with flying colors. But what about the ones that break their cookie?

Despite the success last round, the first one on this list to go is Cure Beat.

Siren is, well, a cat. Born a cat with PAWS.

And even after she became human there’s not any moment in the show where she’s shown to have a steady hand, in fact the opposite with her massive handwriting and her skill being a guitar.

I know people are gonna argue I should’ve given her a pass like Towa because they both play instruments, but keep in mind Towa has more going for her than that, and the guitar is a much more loose instrument than a violin. Especially the one she uses.

The reason the other cats pass is because they’re either chefs, or in Yuni’s case, was an alien form of a cat that had hands. And both those characters are far less reckless than Siren is.

I hope that’s a good reason that you can understand.

Milky Rose is also out.

This one is a born mascot plushie without the steady hand. Now not to say she never had precision, but Milk is known to have such an arrogant sweet tooth that she would just not care about the challenge and eat the cookie.

And even if she didn’t, she doesn’t have much skill involving the candy to save herself.

But now we move on to a sadder one to see go, Cure Sword.

Yeah… this is kind of an obvious one. And I’m pretty sure no one will argue against it.

This girls hand is HARD. In this case for the worst. And she has next to NO skill involving a steady hand as shown constantly. That includes cooking related when she slashes a cutting board by just hitting it once.

Yeah, that’s a quick break right there.

Okay, so Cure Magical is at a very unique disadvantage.

Liko is a stubborn perfectionist and is very hyper focused on getting things right.

She’s the type to overanalyze the best strategy to cut her cookie-

And then the timer would run out in her.

And even if that’s not the case, we’ve seen what her magic does.

But since we eliminated four purples in a row, let’s change it up. Cure Yell.

She’s designed as a cheerleader. But that does NOT translate to ‘steady hand’ in any way.

If her hair styling skills are horrible, what chance does she have?

I know some might say that Flora should be out too for these reasons, but the difference is that Haruka actually showed improvement in hand steady skills and that can’t be ignored. Hana on the other hand doesn’t really have these moments.

Though if people are sad about losing a well liked Pink, not to fear, we’re losing one of the least popular Pinks also, Cure Star.

Hikaru is RECKLESS with a capital R. I’m someone who doesn’t dislike her as much as other people for it, but I can’t ignore that it’s doom spelling in a game like this.

Plus she’s also daring enough to pick a harder shape like the Star. (Ha. Cure STAR.) But she would NOT know what to do with that.

Okay breaks over from the Purple Cure slaughter. Next out is Cure Earth.

I gave her a past last time. That ends here.

Again, she’s a newborn in an adults body. And just… it would just be impossible to have that precise knowledge to be able to do this.

Cure Majesty is also gone for that same reason.

But it’s even more so, as she’s a BABY. There’s just… there’s no way.

And lastly, in a pretty bittersweet, mostly bitter case, Cure Summer and Cure La Mer go out together.

For different reasons. Minatsu is like Hikaru in the sense that she’s more of a reckless character, and in her case a victim of slapstick. Unlike her teammates she just doesn’t have any noteworthy hand steady moments to save herself.

Laura on the other hand is a mermaid. Mermaids live in the water where pressure is very different. So she’d easily get the pressure to cut a cookie wrong.

You can say Melon Bread should be a factor, but I’d disagree as that’s a much softer sweet than honeycomb.

So yeah, it’s sad. But hey, at least they go out together.

10 Cures Break Their Cookies ; 62 Successfully Cut Out Their Shapes And Move On

That number was bigger last time. But after thinking about it I do feel I was too harsh on some of the sporty characters and didn’t acknowledge sports DO have precision involved to do these sports. So I guess I redeemed myself there.

Midnight Brawl

This isn’t really a canon challenge, but several victims are claimed in it that it should be counted for. A lack of needs and sanity breaking events will snap a ton of people to violence. So it’s everyone for themself here.

This is a tricky one as there’s multiple ways you can survive this. Whether it’s naturally being a good fighter who can defend themself or being stealthy event to hide and wait the brawl out.

In this case, it’s tricky cause they’re ALL fighters in a way. It’s just about who is better at fighting than others.

Cure Macaroon is a stealthy person and a deceptive one. She will have no trouble hiding out the event.

Cure Muse is also in that category. As despite her small size, she was a vigilante for such a long time and kept to the shadows. Hiding is pretty natural to her.

Cure Cosmo could actually do it either way. She has the skill to defend herself AND she is a master at disguise like Ako. She has no problem here.

Cure Sunshine, even without powers, is a master at combat being from a dojo and all. She has no problem defending herself.

Cure Moonlight is also a veteran warrior, so she’d have no problem with defense.

Cure Rosetta is also someone who has trained in martial arts outside of powers, so she’d survive no problem. Even if she’s the barrier warrior of her team.

Cure Flamingo has absolutely no trouble committing to assault when she deems necessary. She’d probably be the first to snap.

Cure Sky is also a trained warrior with plenty of strength to go around. So she has no problem.

Now for the hard part. Who doesn’t survive the night?

The first one to go is Cure Whip.

Unlike the rest of her teammates, Ichika has nothing going for her besides being a baker. And with KiraKira’s combat style compared to the others, she’s far less capable of a fist fight as a result.

What can she do? Cream someone??

Yeah that just won’t work.

Cure Yum Yum is also gone.

For the same reasons that she is just a cook. And her personality in particular makes herself very noticeable.

But while Yui is a soccer player, Kokone is quiet and can hide, and Amane is a vigilante with skill, Ran just doesn’t have anything.

Shiny Luminous is probably the weakest cure remaining.

Aside from from being an amplifier, Hikari just does not have anything compared to the others around her.

Of the Yes 5 Cures, Cure Lemonade has the worst shot at this.

She’s expressive in lifestyle so she wouldn’t think about hiding, and compared to her teammates she has the least noteworthy of skill to fight anyone off.

Unless she had rope, but no weapons.

And now we lose a fan favorite unfortunately, Cure Blossom.

For the mockery of ‘weakest Cure ever’, Tsubomi should be really proud of herself for surviving the first two games.

Unfortunately her run ends here. As that mockery does play a factor. Tsubomi is very easy to scare, so it’s not hard to find her, and she’s just too fragile to fight anyone off.

But if that’s too upsetting, not to worry, Cure Ace is also out.

This might be controversial, as Aguri is one of the most overpowered Cures ever…

But only WITH her powers.

Without them, she’s just a regular girl. And given her nature of always butting into things, always saying her opinions, and going on anyway, she’d be too arrogant of a character to hide.

And without her powers, she’s done for.

It hurts cause she’s one of the younger Cures here… but that’s probably the only reason why it hurts.

And finally, the last elimination is, and it absolutely breaks my heart as a Stan…

Cure Grace.

Look, I can’t be bias here. Nodoka doesn’t have much going for her here.

Her hospitalization background does no favors and gives her a physically weak disadvantage going in. Without her powers, she can’t do anything, and even if she tried, it’s damage her health, which would sure be deteriorated at this point in the game already.

That and Nodoka is a pacifist. Sure she’ll fight when it deems right. But she’s one to look for the least harm as a solution. In the world of Squid Game, this is a failing move.

So sorry. She’s my fave. It hurts.

7 Cures Get The Boot ; 55 Cures Survive The Night

Tug Of War

This is another strength based game. Two teams play tug of war against each other and losing side falls to their doom.

This game requires good strength and teamwork. Preferably both.

Now, in the context of Squid Game, there’s be two teams.

I’m not doing that here. Because you come up with ANY match up here, and results would vary.

Instead I’m gonna continue to factor them individually and you can infer from that they’re on the losing team.

From future Eliminations you can interpret the 27 that’d get eliminated here.

This is also tricky, as naturally, all of them are strong and good at teamwork to a degree.

But for the BEST ones at this,

All the Duos left together. (Melody & Rhythm, Black & White, Bloom & Egret, Lovely & Princess, Amour & Ma’Cheri, Sky & Prism, Wing & Butterfly)

More than the others, these Cures are VERY devoted to their teammates and it shows. They’d survive easily.

The Fresh Cures are all very team focused in their move sets and lifestyles.

Also helps that all four of them are still here.

Cure Dream is an excellent leader of a team of 6.

And shes the only 6 Team Leader left in the game. She’d be great at working with a team.

Cure March and Cure Soliel are both strong and the eldest of many siblings. They’re known for teamwork.

Cure Heart is a HUGE standout here.

She’s the student council president, the leader of her team, and a very strong a determined fighter on her own, and is always taking the selfless route of her team first.

More than anyone else here, if anyone’s carrying the team to victory, it’s her.

And finally, Cure Moonlight.

This is a strange one, as last time, I actually eliminated her in this round because she wasn’t a very big team player and took the longest of anyone to join a team. And even then there were complications.

BUT, looking back, I feel like that was my biggest error in that previous list. As while that IS true, you can’t ignore that Yuri IS one of the STRONGEST Cures remaining.

Regardless if she is a good team player or not, if you’re strong enough to hold the rope, you can survive.

So there, I redeemed myself.

So yeah, there’s a lot of good Cures here. What a shock, a show all about teamwork has characters great at teamwork.

But there ARE exceptions to that, surprisingly.

First one is Cure Muse.

1, she’s the smallest and therefore weakest one left.

2, she’s a loner. It’s who she is.

Lethal combo.

And sadly Cure Cosmo.

She was a front runner before, so WOW, what a downfall.

Literally.

While she’s not as weak as Ako, she is also a huge loner and didn’t cooperate with a team even after joining, she was just kinda along for the ride.

Cure Spicy and Cure Finale are both gone here.

Both of them are natural loner who struggle with others, and constantly go on their own and are just social communicators.

Cure Fortune. For… pretty much all the same reasons as the previous combined.

And finally,

Cure Miracle and Cure Fontaine.

The thing that screws them over here is their respective teammates, the Mahou Tsukai Cures and the Healin Good Cures.

Who, aside from themselves, have ALREADY been eliminated.

So they’re alone here.

It’s sad, honestly.

7 Cures Are On The Losing Team ; 48 Cures would hypothetically survive

Marbles

In this came, pairings are pinned against each other to ensure one of them gets all the marbles.

There’s multiple ways to go at this. You can play a marble game. Or if you’re not good at that, there’s always manipulation.

With that in mind, I think the obvious contenders are the villain Cures, especially the born ones.

That’s Amour & Passion.

They’d have no problem.

Cure Macaroon is also a master manipulator without even needing to be a villain.

It’s honestly impressive.

And… that’s it.

Not a lot. That’s because all of these characters are so good hearted that they just wouldn’t be able to hurt their partners.

With that in mind…

We gotta talk about the partners.

I think we’d know who’s pair up with who, not knowing what the game is.

And if Amour made it…

That means her little Cure Ma’Cheri is a goner.

It doesn’t help that she’s younger, and therefore just not a manipulative person.

Plus I think she would allow Ruru to go on.

If Cure Peach is Setsuna’s partner, then she’d also go.

Love is an overbearing person anyway who devotes herself to people.

And then, Cure Chocolot.

Try and convince me Yukari wouldn’t be Akira’s partner. But Akira is very loyal and devoted to people. Sure she’d try to fight to save them both, but once she realizes they can’t, Akira would give Yukari the marbles.

Then there’s the other duos. Melody & Rhythm, Black & White, Bloom & Egret, Lovely & Princess, Sky & Prism, Wing & Butterfly, and the other teams left with just two of them left. Berry & Pine, Sunshine & Moonlight, Gelato & Parfait, Ange & Etoile.

I don’t see these characters manipulating the other. SO… Which ones would sacrifice themselves so the other would move on?

I feel it would be…

Rhythm, White, Egret, Lovely, Prism, Butterfly, Pine, Moonlight, Parfait, Ange

These characters I feel like would have a slightly more devotion towards their partners that they’d sacrifice themselves.

Then there’s the others.

March, Heart, and Soliel, though front runners last time, go here.

They’re all very loyal and devoted, overbearingly so.

Cure Honey goes here, as she’s very trusting towards villains as shown

Cure Scarlet is an interesting elimination.

Yes she’s also an ex villain, but she’s a BRAINWASHED ex villain. It’s because she was manipulated as a child. And years of that would taint her ability to BE manipulative herself without that.

And to even it out to have 24, we need to eliminate six more.

I believe this would be…

Precious, Sunny, Mint, Flora, Milky, & Coral

I’m putting these six together because I don’t have a good reason for it individually.

It’s just that the others have more brain power and guts going for them.

That was a brutal round. And it’s gonna get worse with 24 left.

Glass Stepping Stones

This is by far the worst one.

Get in line. Step on one of two glass panels one at a time. One is safe, the other breaks and you’re gone.

There are NO stand outs here.

This is mostly based on LUCK.

BUT there is ONE factor that we can use to determine a final two.

The line order.

They get to pick their numbers. So it really goes down to who is prideful enough to pick a low number and who’s resilient enough not to.

Out of these, the one I feel would pick #1 is…

Cure Princess.

Out of all them, Hime is easily the most prideful and spoiled of the bunch with her inheritage.

And that will spell her doom for sure.

Cure Sky is not too far behind.

Her whole thing is being the hero, therefore, she’s very confident in her abilities and would think she could pass this.

And going on with it, I think it’s safe to say student council characters would definitely feel the urge to do sooner.

So…

Sunshine, Beauty, Aqua, Diamond, Mermaid, & Selene.

Then there’s more headstrong characters.

Melody, Black, Bloom, Gelato, Dream, Flamingo, Rouge, & Twinkle

Which leaves 8, who I feel would be humble enough to pick higher numbers.

This is hard.

SLIGHTLY, I think the next ones would be Macaroon, Berry, Rosetta, & Papaya.

Which leaves 4

And with that in mind, Etoile and Passion BARELY miss the Top 2

This might be VERY controversial, but of the four left, that half is the lesser stable.

Homare has trauma from her figure skating career and taking on a major role, which is why she’s be further in the back, BUT she HAS shown improvement on such and thus that can’t be ignored. It’d be a dare she’d make to pick the 4th to last number instead of the last one.

And Setsuna, while she is NOT dumb, or arrogant, or even prideful, she is someone who acts on impulse when it comes to time. Especially if, at that point, the timer was almost out. She’s be desperate. And to call her a very emotionally stable person in these sorts of situations is just false.

Which leaves the Final Two, Cure Amour and Cure Wing.

Cure Wing because I feel he would be the one to pick the back number out of everyone. He has survived in his own in hiding for a long time and never broke in sanity, and his nature, while selfless, is also reserved and patient enough to recognize his playing field.

Therefore, he would be the most humble and go last.

And Cure Amour because she too, while able to hold her own, also recognizes when to stay in the back and reserve herself. She did go in disguise. I know that probably means the same should apply to Setsuna, but there is one thing that made me choose Ruru over her.

Her robot nature.

If ANYONE here would be able to tell the glass apart, it’s her.

So she’s at a pretty huge advantage no one else has.

Squid Game

And now, the titular Squid Game. The finale. One acts as the defender. The other acts as the offenser.

And… honestly in the game it’s more of a ‘fight to the death’ type of deal.

And considering which two are left…

I feel like this is even less of a debate than last time.

We LOVE Tsubasa and he deserves it, BUT this scrawny bird boy stands next to NO chance against Ruru.

Ruru is a robotic figure with better defense than him, she’s so much stronger than him that she could throw people in space with ease, and could predict his moves before he could even make them.

Maybe Tsubasa is faster. But that can’t play any factor if he can’t get through her robotic figure. Which he has no ability that can do that.

So… yeah, the Bird Boy falls here.

Cure Amour Wins Squid Game.

She was the victor last time, and… that didn’t change on redoing it. She just had all the skills necessary to win.

Jokes aside, here's a proper intro to what this is for people who aren't in that one very specific discord: As a creative project of sorts, I decided to make 4 Lalafells in FFXIV based on the Drawfee crew (youtubers). SPECIFICALLY these are based on their Newsday Comic Designs, because there's only so much staring at real people's faces really zoomed in I can do before I start feeling like a creep.

So, No, these are not "lifelike" or even "as close to life like as i can make potato people in a 10 year old video game". They're based on stylized ideas of people, warped by my creative liberty. That left me more space to make them cute instead of uncanny valley, which I'm sure any drawfee members that see this post might appreciate too.

They're also all heavily modded. It's more fun for dressup.

With that said! Onwards to the pictures (and design notes)!

Nathan: I actually "made" the beard for this myself - or, rather, I refitted it from a modded beard for Roegadyn. I even made an effort to mold it into a rough flower shape, but I'm afraid it doesn't show up that well. Still, remembering that there is no full beard for Lalafell in the vanilla game, I think it actually looks quite cute! For this "casual" fit I made an effort not to make Nathan look too fashion-y. Of course, they're idol photoshoot style pics, so I still had to dress him up a bit! With this sporty fit with the fun big red boots reminiscent of early video game character designs, I think I landed in a pretty nice middle ground.

Julia: This is the only design I paid real life money to make. I spent forever futzing with free hair mods trying to find one I liked, but in the end I forked over a few bucks to an experienced hair modder's online shop and got this hair that comes with all the features I wanted. Can't say I regret the purchase, it's very pretty. For the outfit, I knew what I wanted pretty much immediately. I have had this outfit mod for a long time, but I've never really known what to use it for. It feels very Julia, even if I can't remember necessarily seeing her wear this kind of thing before. Maybe it just feels French, and I associate Julia with France?

Karina: Karina's face sculpt mod was very easy to decide. Looking at the list of the free female Lala faces, I saw one that looked like a little shit - and named "Give Me the Phone" - and immediately knew it was perfect. I had to edit this hair to become hat compatible for later outfits, but overall this one was full of easy picks. Maybe I'm projecting too hard, though? I even dressed her in a top I modded for myself, after all.

Jacob: Jacob's design is one I agonized over, because finding a hair for him was quite hard. Short hair mods are rarer than long ones, and Newsday Jacob's hair is very distinctive. In the end I had to settle for a more realistic style, but I'm told it still reads as him. I wound up putting Jacob in maybe the cutesy-est outfit of the four. I don't think he'd mind, but either way the funny little overalls were too big a temptation for me to resist. Accessorising with bandages is where my weeb roots really shine through, though. Portraits done, here's the additional materials I've made!

Drawfee Kindergarten Field trip! Fun fact, I took this screenshot mere seconds before the dungeon I used as a set kicked me out, which means I spent the entire instance timer just deciding on accessories and posing! Where are they going? To see the big squid at the Aetherfont's center, of course!

Childish war is such a fun song and dance, never mind the fact that none of the "personalities" really work for drawfee. It's dancing lalas! Who cares!

favorite movie(s): It's so hard to pick, there are so many good ones! But I recently watched Tokyo Godfathers, that one automatically jumped in my top favourites. I also really liked Grave of Fireflies (even though it's quite a heavy movie), Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Handmaiden (let's go lesbians, let's go), Perfect Blue, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Jigsaw franchise (and honestly, I think the 10th movie might be my favourite), The Fear Street Trilogy, Coraline, What We Do In The Shadows, Train To Busan

Honorable mentions: I think Gremlins is starting to grow on me, especially the second movie because I love that the production team didn't take it all too seriously, I do like when some movies are self-aware how silly they actually are. Also shoutout to The Sadness. Am I ever going to watch that movie ever again? Probably not, it was a very disturbing movie. But this is not your usual zombie movie, if I can even call it a zombie movie, which surprised me? Like, it definitely does have those elements of the apocalyptic zombie genre but turned it completely over its head by making the infected actually aware of the things they're doing but not being able to stop it. Again, it is a disturbing movie, it's not for everybody. I personally don't see myself watching it twice. Plus, finding out that the director has said something like that he wanted to focus more on the "fun and the gore" other than anything else in a Q&A did sound quite sussy to me given the heavy topics and the ways the movie could be interpreted. Idk, as philology and literature major it just keeps getting confirmed to me that most, if not all works of art, no matter in what form, have something to say and they deeply reflect the time in which they were created, and there's always the subjectivity of the viewer who interprets it in their own way (like hell, even the superheroes in movies these days most likely take a whole lot of inspiration from Greek mythology, if you really think about it). Some people have mentioned that the director might have answered the way that he did as to not stir up controversy since it was at a festival, but I can't say for sure, I wasn't there to see the interview myself and this is already getting really long so I will stop now, you can make your own conclusions.

favorite series: Courage the cowardly dog, The Scooby-Doo franchise, Are You Afraid Of The Dark (I'm talking about the 90's series, I haven't watched the 2019 revival). Do I remember anything from them? Kind of, it's been a very long time since I've watched them. I kind of want to rewatch them because of it. But they sparked my interest in all things spooky when I was a kid so I feel like they deserve a place here. The story all these animations is quite interesting, the animations themselves are very well done too. How can I describe it. The story kind of takes that deadly game trope (like, let's say in the Hunger Games and Alice in Borderland), but make it about people being forced to be in a singing competition against each other to survive and they are being judged by aliens. From what I know, I could be wrong, the main way of storytelling is through the MVs on the VIVINOS YT channel so it does require a bit to analyze (there is a bit of a additional info on the official website and on the wiki, I'm sure), so if any of that sound interest you, I would recommend checking it out

currently reading: So Long, And Thank for All The Fish from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. I'm so happy of how much progress I've done on reading those books compiled in one huge book, I'm halfway through the series now. And honestly I want to read it for as long as I can because I really enjoy it, it's so fun, I love the absurd situation the main characters fall into while the big question of the meaning of life, the Universe and everything looms over them. This would definitely go in one of my top books I've read I'm sure.

And I also have to mention the webtoons that I'm reading because I love them very much too: Hand Jumper, The Blind Prince, Lore Olympus, Zombie X Slasher (I don't know in what kind of direction this one would go, but so far so good!), Everything is Fine, Flawed Almighty, Homesick (I love love LOVE this one! The art style and everything is great), Never Ending Darling (I know that it's gonna end in like 2 days officially once the last episode is available to read for free, but damn, what a ride this was. The concept of this webtoon is terrifying), Omniscient Reader, My S-Class Hunters, ZOMGAN (also quite an interesting and honestly refreshing way of making a story about zombies), Nocturne and The Guy Upstairs

And special highlight to: There Are No Demons. This webtoon? An absolute nightmare fuel. I find it very interesting that the artist Nemo Nullus makes 3D models first and then draws over them. I wasn't so sure how to feel like it when I first saw it, this was the first time I've seen anything like it on webtoon, but I quickly grew to like this art style, the kind of weird realism and uncanny valley really add to the stories. And the stories themselves are very scary because these are things that could actually happen, and have most likely happened in real life too, especially that first story with the stalker. This webtoon has made me feel things no other horror/thriller webtoon has made me feel, I feel like I want to crawl out of my own body when I'm reading it, really.

currently working on: Mostly focusing on studying a bit more for my exam on monday. But once I'm done I'll be back to doing more stuff here, hopefully ❤️

20 Most Anticipated K dramas to watch in 2024

Without a single doubt 2023 has been a prosperous year for us Kdrama fans. Starting from Crash Course in Romance in January 2023 to Gyeongseong Creature in December, the entire year of 2023 has brought us several unique stories, fantastic plots, sometimes sad endings and sometimes fairly-tale like “happily ever after”. 

Even though there were a fair amount of Korean Dramas that were disappointing in 2023, but trust me when I say it, 2024 is certainly not going to disappoint you at all. Even when 2023 has delivered back to back hits like The Glory 2, Good Bad Mother, Moving and many more, 2024 stores sequels to hit kdramas along with some fresh new stories ready to blow us kdrama fans out of our minds.  

So, without wasting any more time, let’s get into the list.

1. Squid Game 2

Expected release date: Around October 2024

Genre: Thriller, action, mystery

Squid Game redefined the place of Korean Dramas in the global entertainment industry. This drama became the first non-English act to win six Emmy awards as well as gained the title of the most watched Netflix series ever. And to level up the death game even more, Squid Game season 2 is all set to be released in October 2024. 

This season promises Eight additional cast members, making the anticipation even more exciting. So, are you ready to witness this intense gory thriller in 2024 or not?   

2. Marry My Husband

Episodes: 16

Release date: 1st January 

Genre: Drama, Romance, Fantasy  

This fantasy romance then takes us 10 years back before Kang Ji Won was even married. While she gets to choose a new life for herself, we get to enjoy this star studded drama full of angst and romance.  

3. Aema

Episodes: 6

Expected release date: Yet to be confirmed 

Genre: Comedy, drama

Next in the list is the comedy drama Aema, which is all set to feature Lee Ha-Nee, Bang Hyo-Rin, Jin Sun-Kyu, and Cho Hyun-Chul as the main cast. The backdrop of the drama is set in the 1980 as it tells the story of Jung Hee Ran a top actress, who is casted as the protagonist of a movie titled “Madame Aema”. 

This drama will certainly be a fun watch with an intriguing plot. Thus, don’t forget to add it to your list of K dramas to watch. 

4. Everything will Come true

Episodes: 12

Expected release date: Not confirmed yet

Genre: Fantasy, romance, drama 

Who didn’t like Uncontrollably Fond aka one of the saddest k dramas to watch? Only recalling the amazing chemistry between Shin Joon Young (Kim Woo Bin) and No Eul (Bae Suzy), makes us want to scream and cry for the couple. But don’t worry, Woo Bin and Suzy’s upcoming Korean drama Everything will come true will have a much lighter tone with a sprinkle of fantasy to it. 

Woo Bin here plays the role of an emotional genie who meets Ga Young (Bae Suzy) and promises to grant her three wishes. But everything that’s free often comes at a price. However, we hope it’s not a broken relationship this time.   

5. The Trunk

Episodes: 8

Expected release date: Yet to be confirmed 

Genre: Romance, melodrama, mystery 

Gong Yoo is returning with romance and melodrama and it won’t be in your watchlist? How is that even possible! The Trunk is certainly one of the most anticipated k dramas to watch in 2024, not only because it’s Gong Yoo and Son Ye Jin casted as the main lead, but also because this drama is an adaptation of 2022 novel The Trunk by C.M. Castillo. 

The intriguing plot of this drama takes us inside the life of No In Ji, the head of a fixed-term marriage agency and Han Jung Won, a music producer. Both of them despise the idea of getting married but eventually fall in love as the drama progresses. Interesting.. Isn’t it?

BUT i will say, i *adore* each romance and the growth that occurs with each character throughout, and it also does matter on mood (sometimes i need some cutie wyll, gale’s is so heartwarming, karlach is just the bee’s knees)

favourite class to play: i am a bard til i die, baybeeee!!!!! so so fun to play, and the class i would most likely be if i ended up in the world of dnd 👀

favourite song off the soundtrack: this is another mean question HOW DO U PICK ONE THEYRE ALL PERFECT. i will go with either nightsong, i want to live (instrumental), or raphael’s final act for the drama (depending on my mood)

tell us a little about your tav: i’m actually so unimaginative when it comes to character creation, it’s such a weak point for me lmao

but, i currently have cerydwen, a swords bard who lived a very boring, unimaginative life before being abducted by space squids and is very out of touch with the whole ‘fight to survive’ concept, so she needs saving a lot

something you wish was in the game: honestly i’m so big on character design so i wish the creation was more like other games where you can tweak features to your design instead of having predetermined faces ((and imma be real…. i dislike about 99% of the faces in the game 💀))
