So for those that are planning to watch Twilight of the Gods and haven't yet. My review is the following:
It's very much a Zack Snyder plot but without the bad Snyder tropes of past movies (thinking especially of 300 here). It's edgy, has beautiful visuals (Snyder projects often do), and has plenty of equal opportunity sex scenes. Plenty of bi characters. Do they look like they'll kiss? They will and much more...
There are very interesting designs. I loved the voice acting and I'm glad Thor sounds much better than in the trailer (I think they edited what he actually says to avoid spoilers).
My main disappointment is the cliffhanger ending. I hope there's a S2 with some non-cliffhanger ending. I fear for the possibility of Netflix not renewing it and think all Netflix series seasons should never on cliffhangers.
It was definitely made with a lot of research. It takes its liberties, as there's some major differences, but I love how they adapted and altered things from the myths for the story's purposes. A lesser "not-like-Marvel" adaptation would have made Loki a Fire Giant/God a la Wagner. But they had the spider association instead!!
Something I really liked is that they made Loki sympathetic without turning him into an actual child. It's something I've seen a lot, and I'm just like "Cowards, there's plenty to work with without turning him into a child!" Loki feels very much like myth!Loki. He's very sympathetic, but you'll never forget that if he's helping, it's because the goals currently align. You'll be crying at the club for Loki, then go like "Oh shit! WTF Loki!?"
GOW has done antagonist Thor the best so far. For people whose Thor is their blorbo-from-myths (because some follow me), I must warn he's currently very much like Homelander (murderous, physically abusive, predatory) but without a fully developed reason to why he's like that YET. They implied interesting things, such as a fear of eternity and wants to die. If there's a second season, I hope it develops that further to make Thor more interesting. I didn't understand his weird fucked up relationship with Jormungandr, and don't think it was necessary to turn Jormungandr into a sexy snake lady to make Loki and his family sympathetic.
I thought his powers were very cool though and you're like "No wonder this guy is so hard to defeat." Like do you ever go like "How the fuck can this guy with a hammer defeat so many people? The plot armor is ridiculous." Here you won't. Actual storm good powers. And there's some very cool shit like he can do. Fight scenes are great.

I feel if other pantheons exist in the Twilight Of The Gods universe, this would be their reaction to the events in the show:

Oh absolutely!! They’d be watching that so invested from afar just like all of us lmao
Dionysus: :( why didn’t they invite me to the wedding? Am I not fun enough at parties??
Ares: BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD
Athena: Dio you know—ARES SHUT UP—you know Thor would have flattened your ass
Dionysus: Nah I could take him. I’d turn him into a dolphin and then soggy dolphin boy would electrocute himself. Speaking of Loki I like your style
Artemis (in the background): DROP HIM GIRL YOU DON’T NEED HIM. HUNT THOSE GODSSS
Zeus: Yknow I kinda like Thor
Hera: *sniffs* you would
Athena: I’m just gonna…go sit somewhere else…heyyy Artemis bestie
Zeus: What, wife. Do you have a problem with something Thor has done?
Hera: Oh most certainly with something Thor has done. Maybe Thor should be more appreciative of what he has
5 minutes later:
Athena: Dio pass around the wine, we’re all gonna need it
(Loud banging in the background. Zeus and Hera can be seen in one of those comic looney tunes fighting dust clouds with hands and lighting occasionally visible)

Some TOTG! Nine Realms HCs :
. Sigyn and her sisters grew up learning the art of the Seidr from their mother. Their mother, Gullveig, may have agreed on peace terms of the Aesir Vanir War, yet she never forgot what she been through in the event, so she stressed her daughters to never forget where they came from.
. Even after she becomes Princess of Asgard, Sigyn often keeps a distance from Odin due to her mother being speared by fire thrice by those Aesir, which played a huge cause in the Aesir Vanir War in the first place. Gullveig may have managed to set that aside to come to terms of truce after the long time Aesir Vanir War, yet Sigyn isn't so sure if she were to be this merciful if a similar thing happened to her.
. Nanna was often a peacemaker between rivaling factions. She and Baldr had made plans to build a better Asgard once they took over rulership of Asgard. Too bad tragedy struck....
. Thor was a bit more of a meathead in this. And while he was as prideful as many other Aesir, even he has standards, as he values honor and keeper of oath deeply and fiercely loves Sif and his children. He was angry over Baldr's death and wanted vengeance upon Loki.....until he, Sif and his children are all locked away while Vali and Narvi are executed under Odin's orders ( which horrified A LOT of people in the Nine Realms )
. Sif was a bit more haughty than her Valhalla comics counterpart. She has the machivellanisms of Cersei Lannister and the sensual drive of Lady Capulet. Yet first and foremost, she's a mother. And many things she has done are out to protect her children from harm. During Ragnarok, when Thor began to be torn between 2 sides to fight ( either to fight Loki or fight against Odin ), Sif eventually found him and took him to refuge in Vanaheim.
. Sigyn becomes a good friend to Sif, Nanna, and Idunn, and they all can't imagine the grief and rage Sigyn was going through when she had to watch her sons butchered in front of her
. Hel becomes a sword wielder of retribution over what happened to Loki and Sigyn, and she helped lead the armies of undead to wreck havoc amongst Odin's fleets
. Baldr was, well, a classic example of Prince Charming trope. Yet even he sometimes wonders if he's up to task to be a successor. Luckily, Nanna helps him out with it
. Idunn was a usually bubbly maiden who loved apples and becomes one of Sigyn's closest friends. She loves dancing while Bragi loves poetry and singing.
. Bragi is essentially kinda like Geoffrey Chaucer and Robin Hood in spades
. At first Sif intensely dislikes Loki for once cutting off part of her hair in their younger years. Later on she is ( mostly ) civil to him on most part. In Ragnarok, Sif fiercely protects her husband and children from all the rampage and destruction across the Nine Realms caused by Odin and Hela
. While Nanna is more of a peacemaker and healer, Sigyn is more of a Priestess and strategist. Sigyn becomes exceptionally good at scheming and coming up strategies, a trait that Loki loves about so much
. Loki feels more at home with Sigyn. Essentially they are like 2 ' outsiders ' in Asgard who found real home with one another
. Sigyn immediately warms up to Loki's other children from his 1st marriage and showed empathy over the passing of Angrboda. At first Loki's other children are a bit nervous around cuz they faced scrutiny from some other Aesirs when they first came to Asgard, yet they gradually warmed to Sigyn
. Although Freya agreed to marry Odin for Aesir Vanir ties reasons, she did grew to care for him in her own way. But when Odin gradually goes mad with power, he gradually pushed her away. The execution of Vali and Narvi is the final straw as Freya leaves Odin to side with the Vanir court over this.
. In fact, all the sons of Odin are horrified when Odin and his squad then executed Sigyn's sons and tortured Sigyn in such a way. Such betrayal on one of the finest strategists in rhe Nine Realms can only spell Doom for many
. So the sons of Odin fled from Odin and fought alongside those who rise up against Odin.
. Thor had a bit of a tug of war of conscience due to magical influence by Odin and Hela, before Sif finally found him, took him in to a refuge in Vanaheim and helped him recover.
. It took young Hel some time to fully accept Sigyn as her stepmother. Hel loves her biological mother ( Hel is more like Angboda btw ), and is grieved when her mother passed, so it took Hel some time to open herself to a new mother figure who cares for her.
. Angboda is the the daughter of Njord and Skadi and therefore the elder half sister of Tiwaz and Freya. Her mother Skadi divorced from Njord when Angboda was very young so Angboda was raised mainly in Jotunheim.
. Loki and Angboda's former marriage was an arranged one due to political reasons in Jotunheim. They don't hate each other, they are just not that passionate with each other. However, Loki did show remorse and grief when Angboda passed ( after a sickness due to a Extreme Winter in Jotunheim - my theory )
. A reason why Loki goes to Asgard to help protect his elder children from the Trolls of Utgard.
. Loki was absolutely passionate about Sigyn and determined to offer her the best things in the world. And she rewards those efforts with kisses and tenderness
. Thor x Sif in TOTG is kinda similar to Bob x Helen Parr in The Incredibles in spades
. Sigrid and her Midgardian squad soon found themselves caught in a whole tug of war between the Norse Gods over a series of dramas. Eventually, Sif decided to send them back to Midgard for their safety ( Sigrid and her squad all wanted to help, yet it becomes too dangerous for them and their tribes are also in danger. Sif offers them magical runes to help them protect their villages if Odin ever tries to rampage their villages.
. And those runes actually worked - it effectively helped them protect their villages as the Nine Realms shook
. Odin eventually dies as Hel shot a fatal magical arrow ( powered by a streak of Loki's magic ) in the Final Battle of Ragnarok.
. Loki and Sigyn are truly a power couple - no one with any sense would really mess with the Jotunn Prince and one of the best strategists in the Nine Realms. Only someone foolish would do such a thing, and that also helped cause Ragnarok
. Freya and her handmaids often like to have sewing circles and have tea parties together. In fact, several of the members of the Aesir court at those points are hybrids.
. The Vanir men and women often wear flowers and garlands on their hairs. While the Aesir men and women often wear any shiny accessory they can find
. Alfheim is ruled by the House of Mundilfari, with his twins Sunna and Mani, and Nidavellir is ruled by the House of Ivaldi, with his 4 sons and numerous grandchildren

This is something that's always annoyed me. Why are some so allergic to the concept of a cruel/mean/morally gray/evil Thor?
This is about Twilight of the Gods (I was searching for more stills and info, lol), and some being even pissy about GOW!Thor. Myth!Thor's favorite hobby is killing Jotnar and is known for his anger issues.
Y'all wouldn't survive being obsessed with Loki depictions.

I found the series entertaining and it's a good shiny toy in my enclosure.
BUT...
I think my least favorite part of Twilight of The Gods, past my huge complaint of the cliffhanger is the portrayal of Thor and Jormungandr's relationship. It's unnecessary to turn Jormungandr into some sexy snake lady (who for some unexplained reason has to fuck Thor) that Thor banished as a child to make Loki's family sympathetic. They're already sympathetic without that!! And swings too hard on the other direction.
Also, I don't understand WHY or what Jormungandr gains from fucking Thor. And is it consensual? Because Thor banished her as a child.
I thought she was Jarnsaxa at first and was disappointed to find out she was Jormungandr. And does she have two aspects existing simultaneously? Because the giant snake is also there while she's a sexy snake lady.
And what did Loki mean that he would do a deed for her? As if trying to spare her from it? Was Loki going to shapeshift...
It confused the fuck out of me and is unnecessary in my opinion.

They have hinted modern times and it would be hilarious if season 2 is that show with Sigrid living a normal life in the modern era albeit has long term PTSD alongside her still taking on Loki in the modern era. Maybe even revealing what happened to Thor who’s been traveling the world.
They have, and it would be! I do wonder what they’re setting up with that, it definitely caught me off guard a bit the first time it happened. There’s a nonzero chance it is that, though I don’t think it’ll be what happens? Either way I need to see more Loki, I love how they’ve been portraying him!

I've been enabled! THE COPE! This account keeps showing up on my Twitter search. Also, kind of a red flag they're not critical of the "evil fantasy race" trope. Definitely hasn't watched TOTG because Thor's hatred of the Jotnar is a huge reason why Sigrid wants revenge...
And there's no physical description of Loki other than "beautiful and comely to look at." Put "Loki is a ginger fire god" away, Wagner.
As to stop making him out to be a fucking villain, there's like 2 mainstream IPs that have him as an antagonist... this is nothing (come back when you have at least half a century of evil characterizations).
There's also this other account that was complaining also in the other post I made.

My gods, why are people upset that Thor is portrayed the correct way?
It is known that he likes to kill the Jotnar. During Ragnarök he battles a Jotan.
People should re-read his stories. Thor is not like Marvel!Thor. He is closer to God of War Thor and Twilight of the Gods Thor.
This is something that's always annoyed me. Why are some so allergic to the concept of a cruel/mean/morally gray/evil Thor?
