psa regarding my trans characters

today i received an ask about an "au" that would entail detransitioning laxo, aven, and river, and what the story would be like if the three of them "stayed as their original genders." the asker said they wondered if it would impact the story negatively or positively.

i am not going to reply to this ask publicly since i do not want the asker to be harassed, i believe this was a case of extreme ignorance and not out of genuine malice. that being said, receiving this ask was very upsetting as a trans person myself.

so let me make myself explicitly clear and genuine with my next statement: please treat trans characters normally.

completely erasing an extremely important part of these character's identities for a "what if" scenario is insensitive at best and insulting at worst. just entertaining the idea that the story would be better if they never transitioned is really really tone-deaf and hurtful.

laxo, aven, and river's transness is not a thing that you can just take away. it makes just as little sense as a "what if kane/maya/kenta was actually straight" au. you cant just erase that part of their identity. it is a very important core part of them and even though it doesn't define who they are as people nor what they do, any iteration of them in which they never transitioned isnt actually them.

river is a woman. there is no alternate universe version of river where she is not a woman.

laxo and aven are men. there is no alternate universe version of these two where they aren't men.

just, as a rule of thumb. if you have a question about a character's transness think to yourself "would it be appropriate of me to walk up to a real life trans person and ask them this/something akin to this?" before doing so. if the answer is "no" then, dont! please.

i love being open about these three's transness. i will happily talk about their personal journeys and things like that once i have the time, but once we get into extremely invasive/insensitive questions/hypotheticals like this it becomes a lot less fun for me.

this isn't meant to be snippy or aggressive. i'm just very passionate and protective of my characters, and this is an issue that is very personal to me.

don’t have a solid background/story for them yet other than they’re trans, use a bat themed bey, are associated with the dark nebula during the metal fusion era and become like an older-brother figure to yuu.

kinda wanna have something where they end up influenced by ryuga’s dark power like how tsubasa was (+ i want an excuse to make a more monstrous version of them cause of how the dark power changed ryuga) but unsure how to incorporate that yet. maybe something about them being a failed successor for the dark power but was kept around by doji to be useful which leaves them bitter and dejected but they end up staying around as they become closer with the other dark nebula members, eventually re-igniting their determination and trying to get ryuga to further their training?

i wanna do more research into bats when it comes to crafting their bey and the special moves to go with it, possibly something to do with echolocation or an air-based move? as well as shapes kinda resembling bat wings on the wheel or track - maybe just for aesthetic purposes but maybe something like the retractable claws on kenta’s saggitario.

not sure how they’d fit into masters/fury i just have mega brainrot for the fusion era and the dark nebula gang

Three's company

Started due to the 3 of them spending time together in the Valentine's Timeslip event.

They gradually just kept meeting up every so often and just to have other adults to talk to.

The also keep in touch with Echo and Heracles to see how they're doing.

Most events are bank-rolled by Gyumao since he has money to burn.

This has done wonders for Barguest being able to afford some of the nicer things for him and Kenta.

Kenta also gets two extra dads! So does Claude!

Claude's the first to notice that something is happening when Snow starts leaving frequently.

Not that any of them are hiding anything, but everyone else just finds it kind of hard to ask them about it.

It's just hard to ask an adult about their relationships, okay?

Gyumao and Snow are great for helping Barguest's self confidence, and not blaming himself for everything that goes wrong.

Barguest is the only one of the 3 to have any semblance of common sense. A butler and a CEO are just too far from normal people to understand it.

You're getting trans-masc Snow

Snow and Gyumao are both bottoms, and Barguest is the only top. He has to do a lot of work.

Normally, it's snow Sandwiched between both larger men getting both holes filled.

There's been times when Snow is forced to spend a day sitting down thanks to the two of them.

Gyumao is a frequent sender of noods, and is the reason Barguest and Snow check their phones so close to their chests.

By size it goes Gyumao whose normally 1 foot > Barguest whose 8 inches > Snow who doesn't have one.

Gyumao likes using his ability to grown in size to give you more to work with.

You may think that's better for a top but have you ever tried a tongue as a large as your head, or an ass as big as your mom is fat? It's great.

Both Bargeust and Gyumao are frequent enjoyers of Snow's milk straight from the tap.

There's been more than a few scares regarding Snow getting pregnant, but the 3 of them have agreed to raise them together (when they're ready)

ooooh the cousins. umm. let me think. i like to headcanon Mag and Nai-Nai as trans due to some conflicting dialogue (i do believe the king misspeaks in forever and refers to them both as "he" whereas the collection states them as "she"). i like to think that Kenta would give little rides to smaller cosuins like Pu.... THERES SO MANY LITTLE THINGS AAUGH. i think they tie dipp to the ceiling to be a disco ball

since i'm missing Kamisama no Ekohiiki a lot right now for some reason, i thought i would make this post about some of the small things that made me love the show even more (things that i've never seen anyone talk about):

Yashiro not making a big deal out of being in a cis woman's body, because usually guys are like "omg boobs!!!" so it was refreshing that he didn't act like that (he did struggle with make-up though lol)

it was mentioned that Kenta is a survivor of csa, when he was 13. even if it was only mentioned once, it's not often that this is talked about or portrayed on tv.

the way sex is talked about in the show, like it's not a taboo subject. here we have Rin asking Yashiro why he didn't have sex with Kenta (her ex-boyfriend). i thought it was cool.

unless i misunderstood something, Yashiro tells Rin and Kenta that he's trans (or maybe they just assume it) and that's why he messes up sometimes (like goes to the men's bathroom), and both Rin and Kenta take it really well, they don't treat him any differently. when Rin finds out Yashiro swapped bodies with Kagura, she even asks if it's because he's trans.

Who is introduced as a good guy scouting the good guys. And then I skip over to ep10 of Gundalian, the next season, and I find out that he’s secretly part of the enemy

And was saddled with and grew into The Main Dark Bakugan, like Ryuga with Kyoya’s voice.

And then turns out I missed a whole fucking decepticon (?) arc in only a 9-episode timeskip

And meanwhile the ACTUAL Ryuga debuted in season 1, ep 41, and a DBZ Squid-Bird thing AND got his ass kicked in the exact same episode

Versus Beyblade Ryuga who was so evil and OP that he traumatized Gingka into both his Tragic Backstory (stealing the evil dragon and continuing to wreak destruction in everyone and truly live up to the title The Dragon Emperor, having only lost twice out of all the protagonists, both being by Protagonist Plot Armor and Only The Protagonist Is Allowed To Defeat The Enemy (and it ties up the Kenta arc where he gives his power to Kenta after all, as his way of helping them)) and his Belly of the Whale mini-arc (in which one version is Gingka literally launching his childhood into a volcano, and the other version was Kung Fu Panda)

What an upgrade for one and a downgrade for another, WOW!
