I’ve always felt like Baiken threw away gender for like…a +2 in Attack. Not a huge boost but she’s Japanese which means she can do anything in Guilty Gear

It’s a line of thinking that makes me wonder what other stat affects gender has?

Throwing away gender gives a MASSIVE boost to special defense against psychic attacks in particular. The psyche of one who has looked inside themselves and discovered that whole gender business isn't for them exists in a realm much more powerful than those who stick with it.

Otherwise, I think gender itself is too broad to fit it to just one particular boost for people who do decide to keep it. Hmm... Maybe trans/nb/agender people in general would get the psychic defense buff. The forced introspection that comes with poking around with gender tempers the mind in a way most cis gendered people never consider. I'm really tired, I don't know where I'm going with this.

We should avoid the conversation that devolves into each gender identity having specific Pokémon style stat boosts though. Tumblr has a recurring issue of treating genders like psychological zodiac signs and I am not a fan.
