It is a shame children such as yourselves had to endure such hardships
You all did not deserve to have the weight of the world fall on your shoulders

Huh, how would DK react to teen Mario? He would be overprotective of him?
DK isn't gonna cry, what're you talking about?
Tumblr media
Nope, definitely not gonna cry.

The thing that kills me about the Star Wars prequel trilogy and why I will die on my hill that my problem is not that Star Wars is a tragedy, its that its a badly written tragedy, is that Anakin Skywalker was at his closest to being a good Jedi when he was ten years old.
#im not an anakin apologist by any means because I get the point of his character and Im not pro or anti jedi#my only real opinion on all of it is similar to what I was saying about Peter and Tony and the MCU yesterday#its badly written. its EVERYONE being contorted into shapes that dont make a ton of sense in service to#getting characters to where they need to end up for certain things to occur#my opinion is not that Anakin is inherently bad or good or that the Jedi are inherently bad or good#its that their entire conflict was set in motion by forcing the Jedi to act in ways that felt massively OOC when they were#first interviewing him as a kid and like.....I ACCEPT that the Jedi are supposed to be for the most part kindhearted and empathetic and all#of that which is why its so noteworthy in my opinion that this does not match with how they were FORCIBLY portrayed in those early movies#in order to ENGINEER the idea that this kid in desperate need of support but already with a lot of good instincts and positive traits#came to the order of kindly supportive literal empaths and everything went downhill from there#like kindly supportive literal empaths would not in my opinion look at a kid trying his best to be brave & stoic in completely intimidating#circumstances and surroundings and be judgmental and fairly dismissive about it as though theyve never met a kid before let alone a#traumatized one and the fact that thats kinda what happened is in contrast to how a lot of pro anakin people frame that NOT proof#that the Jedi order are inherently bad its that in that key scene and multiple others#the Jedi order were BADLY WRITTEN in pursuit of one pre-determined outcome that mattered more to the script/Lucas than#being true to their core conceit and characterizations. and thats just one example out of dozens I could list and the same holds true for#anakin's side of things so thats why I always steer far away from SW discourse#because Im like the problem with the characters in terms of the most iconic arc is not really any of the characters so much#as the plots refusal to let them actually consistently BE characters rather than just fixed and contrived stepping stones on the way to#the desired endpoint

My power is out.
But I’m currently reading Eldest in the inheritance cycle for my series Reread.
And tell me why this is what I imagine Sloan looking like? Literally Nebbercracker from monster house.
Tell me I’m wrong!

I would die for Wade from Elemental. Ember broke his heart and he was going to leave the city because of it, but as soon as he realized that she was in danger, he immediately raced across town to protect her 😭.

Xenk alone in a crowd who won’t look down and perhaps that is a fortune, for if they saw the mark on his head, violence would met his already bruised bones…

From your last post of Leo sending Jr into the future.
I wish I could trust someone as much as future Leo trusts Jr.
But good good points all around.
I had always thought of that line as kinda cheesy (no pun intended) and it didn't have a place in the post apocalyptic world. But then again, the whole family didn't belong there either.
Future Leo might have so much blame on him for losing the key int he first place, but he gave his younger self a chance at redemption by sending Jr.
All so that cheesy, out of place Line... could once again belong.
Yeah!! It is a cheesy (haha) line, and I think that in turn speaks volumes on the relationship Future Leo has with Casey Jr too, because it shows that even after so much pain and suffering, he’s still a Leo, trying to lighten things up, trying to soften the blow. It’s a cheesy line but the easiness in which it’s delivered shows me that Leo just has this dynamic with Junior.
He’s the leader of the resistance, the world’s greatest ninja…but he’s also a goof who wants the best for (his) the kid. It’s easy to take a line like that and imagine how Junior’s life went under Leo’s (and everyone else’s) care.

I really like how Sonic wachoski is a bundle of pop-culture reference spewing energy, but at the same time its easy to tell how quite lonely he is underneath it all. Good think the wachowskis were able to adopt him. I like to think the universe (or perhaps longclaw) guided him to them.
Yes!!! The writers in the movies really did well at portraying that! A lot of fans have interpreted his high energy "lust for life" attitude as a coping mechanism; at least partially. I think his excitement and energy is genuine, but a good chunk of it was definitely just a result of his trying to convince himself he wasn't really alone before he properly met (and got adopted by) Tom & Maddie. 💙💔
Like, throughout the first movie, he would almost randomly lapse into silence and sadness if he thought too much about the harder parts of his life. In the bar scene, before the bullet time sequence, he went straight from excitedly scribbling down idea after idea, laughing, and babbling to himself to staring silently into space, looking kinda lost as he realized how much he'd had to miss out on. Same with when Tom asked him about the planet he was going to in the hotel that night. He just kinda . . . deflated.
Even into the second movie, the kid's still got abandonment issues. It's not shown super clearly in the actual movie (unless you're paying hyper attention to certain scenes) but it made it very clear in both the PreQuill comic and the movie novelization. 🥲
Haha, all this to say, yes, it's a super fascinating aspect of Sonic Wachowski that I very much appreciate from the writers! They did him well. And a number of fanfics have done very well at portraying this! I gotta make a recommendation list at some point of all my favorite Sonic Wachowski fics. 🤩

i have been wondering what your pfp is from actually i got used to it just being Your Face and once in a while i remember that. wait. no that's a cartoon
LOL it’s from this French kids cartoon called Dofus: Aux trésors de Kerubim
It’s a spin-off series of Wakfu / the Dofus movie and is about this old man with an antique shop telling his adopted son about the crazy adventures he’s had
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s for babies but I like it because it’s very cute + I watch everything this studio makes
Also the maid is casually a lesbian which rocks for a show designed for babies and im surprised the tumblr swarms havent gone crazy about that fact (this show came out the same year Steven universe did????)
Anyway the moral of this post is that Joris is also my son

I think we need a word to describe the category of content that's too mature for kids but not in a way that's inappropriate or upsetting, instead in a way that flies over their heads and they don't even realize it's too mature because the implications simply don't occur to them. Whatever this word is I feel like it ought to be derived from animorphs.

i was re-watching the prequel + og trilogy (in that order lol for once when i was younger we'd always do that in reverse) with my mom a few month ago and deep in the middle of the Obi-wan vs Anakin losing it - duel we made eye contact and like immediately, we knew, we knew the outcome was so fucking depressing and sad we didnt even watch until the end🤣 thats how the ending of Revenge of the sith affects me..(and my mom too i guess)
