Circles are super interesting! The shapes you can create by intersecting two circles, or combining other features with circles makes for really interesting design inspiration!

sorry hold on cant sleep because i remembered i forgot to post something stupid. you know the album art for the last song i put out, Mantle? with the weird sigil and the symbols? it's literally a gay sex diagram each of the encircled symbols represents an OC and the one they're directly opposite to is a character they've boinked. the one in the very center is a guy whose life is made infinitely worse by everyone else fucking

Playing once more with the Shape Builder Tool … I was trying to find out how much quicker I can do certain things with it. It's a time saver and it opens up so many new possibilities, imho. 🖖

Another surreal soup - WIP [2024/04/07]
Tumblr media
There is a melt clock with clock hands that split and somehow stick stickily together. The split hour clock hands turn into the petals of a plant.
From these two petals two tadpoles drop down - one tadpole is older/more evolved than the other tadpole.
The split minute clock hands turn into very thin petals/straws. The tadpoles are falling down the hour-clock-hands- petals onto the minute-clock-hands- straws, sliding down into the melt clock. The melt clock has root-like structures on its dial.
The plant is blossoming with a blossom that is a bit similar to that of an orchid. The orchid-like blossom has a tiny chamber in the shape of half a walnut. A tiny frog is sitting in that tiny chamber, looking out and having large eyes. The frog looks relaxed. The frog's hands slightly hang down from the blossom.

I'm about to have a fuckin braincell, am learning about Dehn surgery and apparently the Poincaré homology sphere is +1 Dehn surgery with the trefoil knot on the 3-sphere?????????
I love math so much I'm about to disintegrate into a pile of curry this makes me so happy I am going to SCREAM why on EARTH is quotienting SO(3) by the dodecahedron's symmetry group the same thing as biting a trefoil-shaped torus out of the 3-sphere and gluing it back in twisted. SERIOUSLY JUST...

Darkbark is such a good name it's so fun to say
I like it so much I want to keep it, even though I've gotten a request to make those names into more unique ecological suffixes. I think I'll make it into Darkstar "Queen's Rights" Warrior Cat's pre-leadership name.
(in clanmew this bark-word is also going to refer to the type peeled off willow trees and made into twine, as opposed to the harder type of bark made into sleds)
So Darkbark can stay while freeing up those two free names. And, speaking of, let me share some of the cool words that are valid in this region;
Teal (type of duck)
Smew
Moorhen
Partridge
Coot
Tit
Knot
Rail
Ruff
Dunnock
Cormorant
Pipit
Creeper
Jelly (type of fungus)
Polypore
Agaric
Blewit
Chanterelle
Bolete
Campion
Vetch
Mustard
Alkanet
Trefoil
Anemone
Teasel
Butterbur
Spurge
Rollypolly
I could do Fry, as in, a baby fish... I've been looking to put Fry in somewhere and it makes sense here more than in WindClan...

“There were no compromises with the filmic aging process. The bone structure of her face, in which she took such great pride, was compromised with a mound of putty. Her face was furrowed like new-plowed farmland. Her hair grayed so that it wasn’t even interesting and twisted into a severe New England knot. And then he [director Silvio Narizzano] zoomed his cameras in for a series of merciless close-ups.”
/ From the 1972 biography Miss Tallulah Bankhead by Lee Israel /
London’s FREE monthly Lobotomy Room cinema club prides itself as THE home of hagsploitation! We’ve screened all the essential classicks: What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), Strait-Jacket (1964), Lady in a Cage (1964) and Hush … Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964). Now, join us on Thursday 16 May for our presentation of 1965 horror movie Die! Die! My Darling! (aka Fanatic). In her last-ever film, 62-year-old hellraising grande dame of the American stage, the notorious Tallulah Bankhead (1902 – 1968), is cast against type as an evangelical religious zealot driven insane following the death of her only son. To play the part of Mrs. Trefoile, Bankhead totally eschewed her customary glamour – for the first time in her professional life, she’s photographed sans her signature slash of Victory Red lipstick! In fact, when she watched the final cut for the first time, Bankhead famously stood up and announced, “I want to apologize to all of you for my appearance on the screen looking older than God’s wet nurse!” Seriously - you don’t want to miss this one! Reserve your seat NOW via the venue: Fontaine’s in Dalston. Phone 07718000546 or email [email protected]. Full deets here.

Let's (re)Read The Great Hunt! Chapter 36: Among the Elders
Tumblr media
Let's keep this simple. This post? Spoils all of The Wheel of Time. Literally this specific post references the last pages of the final book. You shouldn't be reading this if you don't already know everything or at least don't care about spoilers.
Oh also there's a gif with an incredibly moderate amount of flashing at the bottom. I don't think it should hurt anyone with conditions but I'm feeling overcautious so this is your heads up.
This chapter is another example of the new trefoil leaf icon because we're still hanging out with the Ogier.
A number of Ogier women were watching him, from white-haired grandmothers to daughters Erith’s age, a knot of them talking among themselves but with all eyes on him. His ears jerked, but he looked at the broad door to which the stone steps led down, and nodded again.
Poor Loial really isn't ready for the Pangossipcon of the Ogier steddings.
The Ogier woman in the middle of the dais sat in a chair raised a little higher than those of the others, three bearded men to her left in long, flaring coats, three women to her right in dresses like her own, embroidered in vines and flowers from neckline to hem.
We can conclude here that while Ogier society is a bit dominated by the ladies (almost nowhere in Jordan's world is perfectly equal), it's still one of the more egalitarian and thus thematically functional places.
“I will find the Horn,” Ingtar said angrily. “I must. If you will not permit us to use the Waygate. . . .” He fell silent as Verin looked at him, but the scowl remained on his face.
What are you going to do, Ingtar? Slaughter them all? That's some redemption.
His face sagged, without any expression at all, and his big eyes were vacant and unblinking, not staring, not looking, not even seeming to see. One of the women gently wiped drool from the corner of his mouth. They took his arms to stop him; his foot went forward, hesitated, then fell back with a thump.
It's a shame brain scanning is a long dead technology because I would LOVE to know what's going on with all this. Perhaps Nynaeve will delve into the Ogier victims someday, though I expect that's probably rather unlikely.
“No mind. No soul. Nothing of Trayal remains but his body.”
So what happened to his soul? Did it just get immediately sent back to T'A'R? Is it still rattling around in Machin Shin? Is this a Hopper-esque true death, or will Trayal manage to be reborn someday?
“We do need him,” Verin broke in smoothly. “Few any longer know the Ways, but Loial has studied them. He can decipher the Guidings.”
Verin once again being the useful team member by giving a reason for Loial's presence. Ingtar is continuing to be a handicap at this point. When wtas the last time he actually did something useful?
“I will,” he told her. It had the feeling of a commitment, the swearing of an oath.
Presumably death gets Rand out of his oaths because dude up and ditches Loial as soon as the weaving of the Pattern is done.
“That’s not true,” Mat said, straightening abruptly. “Marisa Ayellin thinks I’m handsome. She told me so more than once.” “Is Marisa pretty?” Loial asked. “She has a face like a goat,” Perrin said blandly. Mat choked, trying to get his protests out.
It's good that they're bantering again. Gotta say though Perrin, I think your standards for pretty are a bit different than most Two Rivers boys.
Around the edge of the clearing the Ogier had built a low stone coping that seemed as if it had grown there, suggesting a circle of roots. The look of it made Rand uncomfortable. It took him a moment to realize that the roots suggested were those of bramble and briar, burningleaf and itch oak. Not the sort of plants into which anyone would want to stumble.
We should let the nuclear waste storage people know about this method because it seems a lot more effective than the whole "THIS IS NOT A PLACE OF HONOR" bs.
“I have told you,” Verin said, “the Black Wind is a creature of the Ways. It cannot leave them.”
With Rand around, anything is possible Verin. Even bad shit. Hell, especially bad shit.
Verin stood with eyes unfocused in thought. Mat was sitting on the coping with his head in his hands, and Perrin watched him worriedly. Loial seemed relieved that they could not use the Waygate, and ashamed at being relieved.
Raise your hand if you've ever felt the way Loial does.
That said, this affair has definitely gone to shit and I'm not even angry at Ingtar for immediately going back to plan "Smash heads until I get what I want."
“What we need,” Hurin said diffidently, “is one of those Portal Stones.” He looked to Alar, then Verin, and when neither told him to stop, he went on, sounding increasingly confident.
Dude really has low self-esteem for someone who is by all rights an independent contractor. I'm beginning to wonder if Borderlander culture is more messed up than the books let on.
“I can find it,” Rand said reluctantly. He felt ashamed. Mat’s going to die, Darkfriends have the Horn of Valere, Fain will hurt Emond’s Field if you don’t follow him, and you’re afraid to channel the Power. Once to go and once to come back. Twice more won’t drive you mad.
"Yeah I said I was only going to use ultra-heroin at parties, but my buddy's coming over and it would make me a bad host if we didn't hit it up a little."
“The Brown Ajah knows many things,” Verin said dryly, “and I know how the Stones may be used.”
I wonder if this is a Brown Ajah secret, a Black Ajah secret, or in fact just a Verin Mathwin secret. Any answer seems possible.

For the fic writer asks! How about: 7, 9, 17, 24!
Fic Writers Ask
7. What character(s) captured your heart?
In an ensemble cast, I can rotate anyone in my brain given good evidence - I can also ship anyone given good evidence - so talking about dead French marshals
Primarily? Lannes, Soult, Murat - Soult was an accident because I didn’t think much of him until I decided to put him in a funny position in a fanfic and decided to read up more about him and oops this man has layers, especially with the tragic hilarity of being roasted so hard modern historians think his name is Nicolas
Lannes and Murat are the tragic larger than life brave commanders, Lannes’ relationship to Napoleon and his melancholy but resolute loyalty aaaaaaaa, and then that Dumas quote about Murat living his life athwart the rainbow from Celebrated Crimes and his fucking final words makes me feel feral
And then Ney and Bessieres who also take turns along with the others being rotated in the brain mostly based on if I read/watch/experience something with them last - Davout will probably join them when I get my hands on the biography that already got lost when I ordered it once
9. What fic meant the most to you to write?
Uhhhh this year probably Night at the Marshalate seeing as that’s my first toe into actually writing for this fandom
17. What were your go-to writing snacks?
I’m very lazy and don’t snack because I can’t be bothered getting the snacks, so the answer is mostly “whatever is near me”, though I have been known to forget to eat occasionally
But generally I like chocolates and juice
24. What's something that surprised you while you were working on a fic? Did it change the story?
Starting writing and then doing research will always lead to surprises especially when the research contradicts what’s written oops
Brain is a little fried to recall specific examples but I’ll talk about uhhh the little Lannes/Napoleon snippet How Much Is That Doggie In The Window which was just a brainsput where the first sentence shoved its way into my brain and I thought it was not actually going to involve nsfw references until suddenly the “I’m practically part of your fucking family” line wrote itself, and then I doubled down on it
But I wasn’t sure how it was going to end either, until it did
Thanks for the asks!! My brain is turning into a trefoil knot (read: loopy) but I enjoy blabbering
