‘Justice League: Warworld’ Cast Unveiled (Exclusive)

The Justice League is going to war. The upcoming summer animated home entertainment release Justice League: Warworld has unveiled its cast, which is toplined by Jensen Ackles as Batman/Officer Wayne, Stana Katic as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince and Darren Criss as Superman/Agent Kent. Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment are behind the project. The official synopsis reads: “Until now, the Justice League has been a loose association of superpowered individuals. But when they are swept away to Warworld, a place of unending brutal gladiatorial combat, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the others must somehow unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.”

The cast also includes Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz, Troy Baker as Jonah Hex, Matt Bomer as Old Man, Roger C. Cross as Machiste, Brett Dalton as Bat Lash, Trevor Duvall as Drifter, John DiMaggio as Lobo, Robin Atkin Downes as Mongul, Frank Grillo as Agent Faraday, Rachel Kimsey as Mariah Romanova, David Lodge as Sheriff, and Damian O’Hare as Deimos and Teddy Sears as Warlord. Executive producers include Butch Lukic (Batman: The Long Halloween) and Sam Register, along with longtime Batman franchise executive producer Michael Uslan. Jeff Wamester (Legion of Super-Heroes) directs from a script by Jeremy Adams (Supernatural), Ernie Altbacker (Justice League Dark: Apocalypse War) and Josie Campbell (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power). The producers are Jim Krieg (The Death and Return of Superman) and Kimberly S. Moreau (Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham).

After probably way too much procrastination, preparation, and far too in-depth research, I finally found a way to make solo D&D 5e work in a way that my brain understands!

(Actually Trevor Duvall's actual play sessions on Me, Myself, and Die were a great help in kind of helping me wrap my head around a lot of the concepts. A channel I highly recommend, just because it's also a lot of fun to watch his solo sessions.)

I've started to run Ari and Gale through Waterdeep Dragon Heist, an official 5e adventure module that doesn't really make complete sense to happen post-BG3, but I'm handwaving it. The highlights of the first session were:

Gale trying to take Ari on a dinner date to the Yawning Portal, and somehow thinking that would go well

As his brawny fiancee goes to stop a bar brawl, Gale tries to help and immediately gets swept up in the crush of the crowd and is bullied by some random dock workers

Ari, mighty paladin with her strength of 18, rolls a 3 to pull a half-orc off of the guy she's pummeling

So he decides to leap up onto a table to get a better vantage point, and steps into someone's shepherd's pie

Gale decides that he can diffuse this entire situation by loudly yelling he's going to buy a round for the entire Yawning Portal like he did that one time. He rolls a Nat 1 on his persuasion check.

This leads to more bullying, and people laughing at Gale for being poor (because he left his pouch of gold back at the dinner table -- what sound financial planning!)

In trying to escape this unwarranted wizard harassment, he loses his balance, falls ass over tea kettle and knocks an entire round of ale from a passing server's tray, and lands on the floor in an ungraceful heap, covering himself in ale, and somehow flipping the shepherd's pie into a graceful arc that it lands on his head

Somehow throughout all of that, he still manages to get over to the bar brawl and provide oh-so-intimidating backup and half of the brawlers leave. Somehow Ari does not notice all of the mashed potato in his hair until after they battle a troll and several stirges

After all of this unnecessary chaos, Gale basically microwaves their now cold dinners with a cantrip as Volo talks them into the adventure hook

Volo waxes wayyyy too much poetical about his super totally good friend with wide shoulders and lucious blonde-red hair friendo who he somehow lost two days ago, and just now remembered to try to find

Neither of them are actually dressed for adventuring so now they have to go home to change

These level 12 ass characters absolutely faceplanting and failing miserably at a level 1 encounter in the most true-to-form Tadfool fashion. I love them.

Bills, Allen toast the Jaguars 47-10

The Bills just did that. 

The most lopsided game of the season just happened. The Bills stomped the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10, and it wasn't even close, pushing the Bills to 3-0.

Bills Quarterback Josh Allen was on fire, completing 23 of his 30 passes for 264 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Bills stomped on the Jaguars 34-3 at halftime. Allen also controlled the run game, being the top rusher for Buffalo, with 44 yards on the ground and 6 carries.

The Bills put in backup quarterback  Mitch Trubiskey in the 4th quarter while up 47-10.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawernce didn't seem like he was in the game, completing 21 of his 38 passes for 174 yards with a touchdown and a pick. It's not something you want to see when you sign your quarterback to a 5 year, 275-million-dollar contract.

Jacksonville needed to win this game. After losing their last seven games, Duval County looks like it will be a long season. Now, they sit in embarrassment, starting the season 0-3, and head coach Doug Peterson is on the hot seat that seems to be getting warmer every week. 

Jaguars owner Shad Khan stated last month in an interview that "Winning now is the expectation." The Jaguars have lost their last 8 games

What a tale of two different teams. The Jaguars look to be in one of the longest seasons in franchise history, while the Bills look to have one of the best seasons. 

The Bills will fly to Baltimore to play the Ravens on Sunday Night Football in hopes of continuing their winning streak, while the Jaguars will continue their road trip to take on the Houston Texans while searching for their first win of the season.

Good capture of Halloween! This was filmed on the aisle so you can see some people getting up and walking around at times. I don't know what I was expecting from Chris Sale's first game back from the IL but suffice it to say that whatever unknown expectations those were, he exceeded them. Hair-splitters will lament that the one hit he gave up was a dinger and that he only lasted four and two thirds, but as far as I'm concerned, those hair-splitters can kind of go fuck themselves. Do they have no joy in their lives? As Sale comebacks go, that one has to be pretty close to the top. So rather than um-ing and ah-ing about short starts and Sox pitchers limiting hits but somehow limiting them to dingers, I am going to focus on the bright sides.

Did I mention Chris Sale was good on his first outing back in what seems like a million years? He went four and two-thirds, struck out seven and didn't walk anyone. He gave up one hit. And he absolutely dominated. Lots of swings and misses.

Barraclough, in his debut for the Sox, was strong for an inning and a third, walking one and striking out three. He got the W.

Murphy was also very good for the last three innings of the game, striking out four and walking two but allowing no hits. Rest of the bullpen got a rest and we won.

Tristan Casas hit a dinger, a 3-run dinger in the fourth which was all the runs the Sox would need but we scored some more of them just in case.

Trevor Story went 2-for-4, stole a base and scored a run. He's getting back into the groove after being waylaid with injury.

Pablo Reyes also had a couple of hits and scored a run.

Adam Duvall walked three times. Like, good eye, Adam.

We won!

We've won three in a row!

A bunch of teams lost so we're only three out of the wild card!

The Yankees are still in last place!

Two Doubleheaders Equal a Series Win

First Doubleheader

Series Game 1

RHP Randy Vásquez for the New York Yankees pitched against RHP Nick Pivetta for the Boston Red Sox.

3B Rafael Devers got the scoring started for the Red Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning by hitting a solo homerun off Vásquez. The score was 1-0 Red Sox.

In the same inning, Vásquez threw a wild pitch, causing 1B Triston Casas to score from third base. The Red Sox extended their lead to 2-0.

In the top of the sixth inning, 1B DJ LeMahieu hit an RBI double off Pivetta, scoring LF Everson Pereira. The Yankees were on the scoreboard, making it 2-1 Red Sox.

Later in that inning, 2B Gleyber Torres hit a two-run RBI single off Pivetta, scoring C Kyle Higashioka and LeMahieu. The Yankees took the lead by 3-2.

This score would hold up toward the end of the game, causing the Yankees to win a close game.

Series Game 2

LHP Carlos Rodón for the Yankees went up against RHP Kutter Crawford for the Red Sox.

In the bottom of the first inning, rookie CF Ceddanne Rafaela hit a solo homerun off Rodón. The Red Sox took the early lead at 1-0.

In the top of the fifth inning, CF Estevan Florial hit an RBI single off Crawford, causing Pereira to score. The game was tied at 1-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, 1B Jake Bauers hit into a force-out, causing Torres to score. The Yankees led by 2-1.

In the top of the ninth inning, Torres hit an RBI single, scoring RF Oswaldo Cabrera. The Yankees extended their lead to 3-1.

In the same inning, C Austin Wells reached on catcher interference via C Connor Wong with the bases loaded. Pereira scored and the Yankees now led by 4-1.

Not much else happened after these at-bats, causing the Yankees to sweep this first doubleheader.

Series Game 3

RHP Michael King got the start for the Yankees versus RHP Tanner Houck for the Red Sox.

In the bottom of the first inning, LF Wilyer Abreu hit an RBI single off King, scoring Devers. The Red Sox took a 1-0 lead against the Yankees.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Rafaela hit a solo homerun off RHP Greg Weissert. The Red Sox extended their lead to 2-0.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, SS Trevor Story hit a three-run homerun off RHP Matt Bowman, scoring Abreu, RF Adam Duvall, and Story himself. 

The Red Sox added more insurance runs, extending their lead to 5-0, which was the score they would win in this game.

Series Game 4

RHP Clarke Schmidt got the nod for the Yankees against RHP/opener Nick Robertson.

In the bottom of the first inning, RF Alex Verdugo grounded into a force-out, causing Rafaela to score. The Red Sox took a 1-0 lead.

Later in that inning, Abreu hit an RBI single off Schmidt, scoring Verdugo. The Red Sox extended their lead to 2-0.

In the top of the second inning, LeMahieu hit an RBI single off LHP Brennan Bernadino, scoring Florial. The Yankees now trailed the Red Sox by 2-1.

In the same inning, DH Aaron Judge hit a grand slam off Bernadino, scoring 3B Oswald Peraza, Cabrera, LeMahieu, and Judge himself. The Yankees took the lead by 5-2.

In the bottom of the third inning, Devers hit a solo homerun off Schmidt, making the score 5-3 Yankees.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Casas reached base on a throwing error by SS Anthony Volpe, causing 3B Luis Urias to score. The Red Sox trailed by 5-4.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Casas grounded out softly to Peraza at third base, who threw to LeMahieu at first. Rafaela scored and the score was tied 5-5.

In the top of the eighth inning, LeMahieu hit an RBI double off RHP Mauricio Llovera, scoring Volpe. The Yankees took the lead at 6-5.

In the top of the ninth inning, Peraza hit a two-run homerun off RHP John Schreiber, scoring Florial and Peraza himself. The Yankees extended their lead to 8-5 and won by this score.

The Yankees split this second doubleheader and won this series overall against the Red Sox with three out of four victorious games.
