REO MIKAGE WAS not jealous.

He repeated this thought like a mantra as he leaned against the wall of Blue Lock's common lounge, sipping a lukewarm energy drink with a bit more anger than necessary. His eyes narrowed over the rim of the can as he watched you—smiling, laughing, grinning—while Sae Itoshi and Michael Kaiser stood far too close for his liking.

Kaiser said something cocky, Sae smirked in his annoying little deadpan way, and you actually giggled.

"Tch."

Reo didn’t realize he made a sound until Nagi, standing beside him with his usual sleepy expression, raised a brow.

"You okay?"

"Fine." Reo’s tone was short. "Totally fine. Why wouldn’t I be?"

Nagi blinked slowly. "Dunno. You're doing that pouty rich-boy thing again."

"I’m not pouty," Reo hissed, then looked back across the room—and there you were, showing Kaiser something on your tablet. He leaned closer. Too close. Sae hovered behind you like some broody shadow.

Reo’s jaw clenched.

He was not jealous.

He wasn’t.

…Was he?

Later that evening, Reo cornered you near the hallway of the dorms, hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket, trying very hard to look casual.

You looked up at him with a bright smile, headphones looped around your neck and tablet tucked under your arm.

"Hey, Reo! You heading to dinner?"

"Eventually." His voice was cool. Too cool. "So... you and Sae and Kaiser, huh?"

You blinked. "Huh?"

"I just—" He scratched the back of his neck, suddenly unsure how to ask without sounding like a kicked puppy. "You’ve been hanging around them a lot lately."

"Oh." You looked amused. "Jealous?"

Reo scoffed, too quickly. "Me? Jealous? Of those two? Please."

You arched a brow, clearly unconvinced.

He crossed his arms. "I’m just saying, Kaiser flirts with anything that breathes and Sae has the emotional range of a brick. I don’t get what you even talk about."

You tried not to laugh and failed. "Art."

Reo blinked. "...Art?"

You nodded, pulling up your tablet and flipping it around. "I take commission requests, remember? Kaiser and Sae are on my VIP list. They're literally clients. Kaiser wanted a custom logo for some brand thing, and Sae paid me a stupid amount to draw his dog in four different styles."

Reo stared at the screen. Sure enough, there was an illustration of Sae’s grumpy Shiba Inu wearing a cape. And another where it was in a chibi style, complete with sparkles and dramatic shading.

He was quiet for a moment.

"...That’s actually kind of cute."

You smirked. "So. Not jealous?"

Reo huffed. "No." A pause. Then quieter, "Maybe. A little."

You stepped closer, poking his chest lightly with your finger. "You could’ve just said something."

"I didn’t want to sound clingy."

"You’re literally my favorite person to draw."

Reo blinked. "Wait, seriously?"

"Yep. You’re always around, and your face is easy to capture."

He tilted his head, smirking now. "So you stare at me a lot, huh?"

You rolled your eyes, but your ears turned pink. "Don’t push it, Mikage."

Still, you didn’t pull away when he leaned in just a bit closer.

"Let me make it up to you," he said softly. "Dinner? My treat. And you can tell me all about your VIP dog-drawing empire."

You smiled. "Deal. But only if you let me draw you next."

He grinned. "Only if you draw me kissing you afterward."

You gaped. "Reo!"

"What?" he shrugged, smug. "I’m a muse. Gotta commit to the art."

I don't actually get that many, i just tend to answer months worth all at once so it looks like a lot haha. I also don't answer a bunch of them if I've already answered something similar before or the answer is in my FAQ. Though I'm going to be honest some of the asks that get sent to me I don't think anyone expects me to actually answer, because they're just weird enough that if i turned off anon i'm pretty sure no one would be asking them.

My free time (...when I'm not procrastinating |D ) is trying to be spent on BP so I currently dont have any plans beyond the fun little doodles and animatics and stuff that I usually do. Gato is working on YKMET so if you guys like Strade then you have that to look forward to :)

Man i've answered so many asks i sometimes only remember saying something when another asks sounds familiar lmao 🤔 Ok; Rire, as a demon of station, has been captured in the background of some historical paintings and photographs, sometimes without his knowledge but always to his amusement later when he finds out. Like just imagine you are intensely studying art history and in those paintings of events with lots of people in it, suddenly your eye happens to catch upon a tall dark haired figure wearing sunglasses from that time period somehow blending in amongst everyone else there.

He has no particular preference in this regard.

Rire doesn't have like 🤔...a set criteria as it depends entirely on certain whims; like whether he is looking for business or pleasure, what he's feeling like at the time etc. If it's purely business then there are types of people he would approach that he wouldn't otherwise if it was for mainly entertainment.

They probably average out at about room temperature - they tend to reflect environment temp a bit and the main part that's closest to his back will always be a bit warmer than the rest of the ichor.

How do you get your siffrins to look adult? I keep accidentally giving them a baby face but I WANT THEM TO LOOK GROWN AND EXHAUSTED LIKE HE DESERVES

okay so i legit think i fail at making siffrin look adequately adult like half the time but here's a general breakdown of my like. thought process when im actually um. thinking .

So first of all heres my general tips for proportioning a face, and how i attempt to keep the roundness of sif's in-game proportions while also like... drawing them more realistically? i had to practically reinvent a Human Style for drawing isat fanart since im a furry artist so a lot of this is fresh in my mind, luckily(?) for you i suppose.

This newness also means you can like, watch me fight and struggle against how the hell to do this in my earlier fanart. so feel free to try and see what changed as i pieced it together.

Another note is body proportion. You note giving him a baby face specifically, but some of it MIGHT be that you're drawing the head too big for your style? Try and figure out how many "heads tall" your figures are and tweak the numbers until you find what looks "adult"

Here I cracked open one of the comics I used CSP Model refrences for (albeit feat Loop, who i envision to be the exact same height as siffrin. i am NOT a tall loop truther i think its funnier when that bitch is five foot NOTHING!!!!!)

drawing sif with adult proportions can be deceptively difficult though on account of their Being A Tiny Motherfucker. Mostly here though, I find that the best way to do this is to drop like 1/3rd of the length of an average drawing figure's legs. Short people tend to have short legs. I know this on account of a lot of my ocs being 5'3" and below (... for... reasons...... unrelated to my own... height.... 100%.... ) so once again I think a lot of this can come down to trying to fiddle with numbers and noting down what works.

OKAY NOW ONTO SOME MORE SIFFRIN-SPECIFIC DRAWING TIPS. like these are what i find myself doing to make them look older if i accidentally baby face them myself

The above kind of chibi-er doodle style im still not sure has Siffrin looking adult enough for my liking (someone who considers them minimum 28) but considering they're presumably genuinely a deceptively baby faced guy at least by game's start (even if they should probably look. unhealthy.) it's like... forgivable.

the bald spot is basically fucking cheating in terms of "making them look older" lbr but i am so fucking insistent on it and i punch the air in celebration every time i see anyone else do it. winner is ME!!!!

Anyway. the body hair thing is funny considering we basically have Word Of God that siffrin is not the kind of person who ever likes being naked/even having their feet out in a casual setting. but like. hi its me the weird fucked up miserable nudity guy. of course im drawing every pockmark and texture on their body.

Another note here is, on their naked form, I avoid overly smooth lines for outlines of the limbs and torso. This avoids making them look "sexy twink thin" (not my bag at all) and instead gives the impression of loose skin from fluctuating weight, uneven fat distribution, skin becoming baggier with age. I also let joints jut out and look sharp wherever I can. This is because im an asexual pervert who likes the human form the mostest when i can see 'imperfections' This adds to the haggard nature of it all, by being reasonably honest about what the kind of persistent decade-long neglect of self care and implied malnutrition would do to a guy

Last note: eyes. i find i end up drawing a vague glassy black smear with a hint of white for the sclera for siffrin like. a Lot. Eyebags to show weariness is not my preferred method as I find it, to be rude, a bit of an overused shorthand. Plus, while sif in game does get eyebags, they're usually more on pushed expressions where they're forcing their face. So I put more emphasis on drawing the folds of the upper lid (which the game does not do) to make them look weary.

I dont think i can elaborate on my opinions on How To Draw Eyes without it becoming a way the fuck too long essay because "drawing emotions good" is like. my number 1 goal in every drawing so even if everything else is scuffed to hell I HAVE TOOO get the eyes right because theyre the most emotive part of the face. if i cant capture an emotion correctly the drawing isnt getting fucking finished is the thing, so....

Luckily for me, drawing over eyes and continously tweaking them by painting over and over and over and redoing them can have the side effect of making them look over-detailed and thus worn/tired/agonised. yes this is why i draw loop's face so scrunched all the time. All I can say for this though is to do a lot of studies of both real life faces & the most emotive cartoon faces you personally have experienced. So like. steven universe is great for this because rebecca sugar is so scary at drawing eyes. theyre so fucking scary at it. or sometimes i just go stare at rebecca's old comics because jesus christ. anyway.

??? but yeah hope this helps. its something i feel like i have a genuine hard time with too, especially since im so intent on keeping their face round & my artstyle is genuinely very cutesy even when i am being weird soo ...?

tl;dr:

draw the eyes smaller, give them a chin, the canon nose helps a lot & dont forget the bald spot. everyone draw the bald spot. for me.

Stupid Cupid

Started this edit almost an entire year ago, right when RWBY Beyond dropped the boba episode. I immediately caught onto the idea of chibi Ruby being a little cherub to use for shipping characters. Of course, I immediately distracted myself with other creative projects and the Ship Wars 8 (which White Knight won in spectacular fashion btw) and life got in the way. But I came back around to it this past month. Perfect timing really, since it means I got it out for Valentine’s Day.

I just think it’s lovely how CRWBY have nurtured this ship subtly in the background, until they finally decided to get right up in our faces about it with Volume 9. That’s kind of what I wanted to portray here, with Cruby on a mission to make White Knight a reality, but Jaune and Weiss had already grown close without that final brazen intervention.

It’s really something special to start this meme essentially right as Rooster Teeth and RWBY closed down, only to come back and finish it with the news that Rooster Teeth was bought by Burnie and RWBY’s now moved on to VIZ. Both of them continuing on in their way. Kind of heartwarming to be honest, like a message of perseverance, keep on trying even if circumstances bring you down.

I can still see a few influences from my early work on the edit, was playing a little Republic Commando at the time, so we get Ruby’s comment about her skills with a bow confusing and frightening CRWBY. Speaking of, I think we can all see why I chose Cruby as Ruby’s cherub name. Perfect for someone tasked with building up White Knight. And, come on, the shipping rock is a perfect replacement for a bow. You may have noticed me sneak in the Golden Oreos or Rooster Teeth’s logo to celebrate the recent news (Jaune’s put a little sticker on the pummel of his sword).

With editing, I still run into trouble every now and then as I learn and familiarize myself with my software. Even now after a year of practicing it, and a decent chunk on gimp in particular. On this edit I ran into a weird issue with the color picker tool, where when I sampled a color, the brush would only apply a pastel or grayer version of that color. Wasn’t sure how I enabled that, if it was a glitch or I accidentally enabled some key shortcut or something. I worked my way around it though, in the most obtuse manner.

Pretty cool to be learning something new as I go through these edits. Like all the color correcting for my Vacuan Nights meme. Or even small quality of life things like how I decided to start making thicker outlines for the text about halfway through. That’s something that helps making the words pop, the outlines were a bit too thin before. And at the end I can really pump out some of the more complicated edits that used to take me a long time a year ago.

Redrawing Jaune for panel 9 was a ton of tedious busywork. The screenshot I pulled that from had bad lighting from the portal behind Jaune, so I needed to fill in colors for proper lighting. I think it came out pretty spectacularly.

And I just really like the premise for this meme. CRWBY helping push White Knight along, but the relationship was already well on its way in the background. That little bag of ‘cupid’ rocks just seems really cute to me, too. Fun, cheap little drawing.

Chibi Ruby is cute as can be; so happy they gave us this version of her in Beyond. Especially like that devious look I gave her. Yang looks great too, really enjoy Beyond’s style, and the exasperated palm to the face. And, of course, I loved writing and drawing up the cute interaction between Jaune and Weiss. She needs to see those shark pups! :)

i recently finished some illustrations of my guilty gear oc alice...... those are attempts at the accent core/accent core chibi/xx portrait style i cant tell how successful they are BUT they are attempts still .

she's a 199 year old vampire scientist who's overzealous about finding what life is for other non-humans/demi-humans. she writes an encyclopedia where she documents everything she can about them! but it's widely regarded as fiction by most people. recently (after the end of the crusades) she's been trying to find out more about gears whether they're humanoid or not

i think she likes learning about the gg cast because even if most are human she thinks they're very interesting... especially when it comes to forbidden beasts/spells. she doesn't like fighting but she uses a chainsaw that can turn into a sword that's also kind of alive and she specializes in lightning spells

she's actually one of the fragments of the soul of a person who got split into several people after a spell gone wrong 💭 she does enjoy blood but she doesn't like biting people directly so she makes thingamabobs and uses them on unassuming victims instead. she's usually very apologetic about it. she really likes taking samples and analyzing them but she has more normal hobbies too. personality wise shes a very optimistic person and she talks A LOT. she's a bit oblivious. i think she comes across as a little offputting sometimes because of her sample obsession. but she is Kind and Well-meaning and she tries to see the good in people

as far as her involvement in the plot of the games goes she went after dizzy's bounty (but not really it was mostly because she wanted to ask her questions and she'd never seen a humanoid gear before) after having gone to ganymede for her research. But after that i think she conveniently misses the main events of anything that comes after (I just cant think of a way to insert her in other plots for now
