● Did you know that there's a mechanic in the game with which your teen Sim can learn the current teen hangout in town from another teen? Probably not, because silly EA set the chance to learn this to 0. This tiny tuning mod will enable this function in your game.

Autonomous nectar making, so sims will go up and decide to use the nectar maker without prompting. Note that this will cause a window to pop up asking for ingredients. You can open more than one container at a time, so if you keep ingredients in a nearby chest or fridge, pause the game and open that too, and transfer what you need.
Don't eat poison apples is pretty self-explanatory.
Don't make gourmet pet food. Bane of my existence. You can still prompt them to do this if you want, but they'll try to do it every five seconds if you have actions set to autonomous in-game.
Beekeeper itun does a few things: Bees do not get dirty or hungry. The happiness goes up and there is no more chance of bee stings. Essentially removing the need to smoke the box, which autonomous sims don't tend to do before the rip it open and shove their hands in there. I didn't mess with the odds of collecting beeswax, that's still standard.
No autonomous magic makeover. I spend a lot of time making my sims look the way I want, just for them to go to this stupid mirror and come out looking worse than a tragic clown. You can place magic mirrors with no fear of sims randomly messing up their look :)
No ghosts waking sleeping sims. I like having ghosts around and I don't mind them scaring my sims, but when the sim refuses to sleep because of the ghosts constantly harassing them, it gets tedious fast. This only applies to non playable ghosts.
No unfinished room moodlet. I just set the percentage of 'unfinished' really high so it can't be achieved. Some places I like having the dirt floor and now the sims will not get grouchy because of it.

More Active Online Dating - TS3 - Seasons EP
This is an XML tuning mod that makes online dating more active.
Only install one version! It can go in your Overrides or Packages folder.
Required: Seasons EP
V1: Faster
Sims you've messaged will reply within 3-6 hours. Default was 6-12 hours.
Your sim has a 75% chance of getting a new message every 3 hours.
The minimum and maximum number of profiles your sim can see has been increased to 27 and 36. Default was 20 and 25. You'll only see a difference here if your town has enough young adults, adults, and elders to fill up the grid.
V2: Turbo
Sims you've messaged will reply within 1-2 hours.
Your sim has a 75% chance of getting a new message every hour.
The minimum and maximum number of profiles your sim can see has been increased to 30 and 39. Default was 20 and 25. You'll only see a difference here if your town has enough young adults, adults, and elders to fill up the grid.
The total inbox limit is 25 messages, I think. If the limit is reached, you may have to delete some messages to see new ones.
You may receive the same message from different sims. The game generates them randomly, some more frequently than others.
If you want to tweak any of the values, open the package with S3PE and edit the XML resource in Notepad.

The CAW tool is honestly a bit of a mess in some aspects, but at the same time, it’s incredibly fascinating how much you can create with it. I’ve edited other worlds before, but I had never built one completely from scratch. It’s a massive time sink and takes a lot of effort—but trust me, it’s 100% worth it.

Now, have I mentioned how much I hate terrain sculpting? No? Well, here it goes: I HATE IT. It’s by far the most tedious part of the entire process. But hey, that’s finally done—and now I get to dive into my favorite part: building.
I genuinely thought I’d never get here. 😭

Rossmere is beautiful, isn’t it? I know it’s hard to imagine it bustling with life, skyscrapers towering over the streets, Sims everywhere... when right now it all looks so empty. But I promise you, in my head, it’s already amazing.
Come on, have a little faith—when have I ever let you down?

And yes, just to confirm what you’ve probably already guessed: it’s a city. My main inspiration comes from parts of Los Angeles (mostly), with touches of Brooklyn and Miami here and there. But just to be clear: I’m not trying to recreate any of them. I’m simply taking the elements I love most and blending them into a world that feels uniquely mine.

Since I know you're curious for more details, here’s a little preview:
Currently, the world uses the Sunlit Tides lighting, but the water is too clear and I’m not completely happy with it, so I’ll probably change it. Roaring Heights might be an option—it has the kind of tone I’ve always wanted and suits the style of this city much better.
As always, I’m not using any CC—but I will be using some Store content and a couple of mods. If you’re familiar with my previous builds, you can probably guess which ones I mean. That said, I’m planning to add an amusement park this time around, so I’ll likely bring in a few new mods just for that.
I’ll be using every single expansion pack—no exceptions.
Rossmere will have three ports—none of them will include a houseboat with Sims living in it.
The water level is set above 30, so you’ll be able to place dive lots without any issues. I won’t be including any myself, though—it’s not something I’m personally interested in, and I like leaving that as something special for Isla Paradiso.
Right now, the world contains 140 lots—some of them will be left empty so you can add your own builds. I’ve also put a lot of work into routing to ensure performance stays smooth. I’ll try not to overload the builds for that same reason.
I plan to release both a populated and an unpopulated version, each available in both Spanish and English.
From now on, I’ll be sharing all my progress with you so you can keep me company on this journey. I skipped over the terrain sculpting and layout process because, well… it wasn’t anything worth showing off. And honestly? You would’ve gotten tired of watching me rework it again and again. The final version looks nothing like the first. The idea was always there, and so was the vision—but I’ve refined it a lot over the past few weeks.
To make the wait feel a bit shorter, I’ll be posting the builds I’m making for Rossmere on my Patreon as I complete them.

Así que sí, esto es en lo que he estado trabajando el último mes.
La herramienta CAW es un desastre en algunos aspectos, pero también es absolutamente fascinante todo lo que se puede llegar a crear con ella. Ya había editado otros mundos antes, aunque nunca había hecho uno desde cero, y la verdad es que exige muchísimo esfuerzo y tiempo… pero vale completamente la pena.
Ahora bien, ¿os he dicho ya lo mucho que odio modelar el terreno? ¿No? Pues ahí va: LO DETESTO. Sin duda, es la parte más tediosa de todo el proceso. Por suerte, ya está hecho, y ahora empieza mi parte favorita: construir.
Pensé que nunca iba a llegar. 😭
Rossmere es maravillosa, ¿a que sí? Sé que cuesta imaginarla llena de vida, con rascacielos y Sims por todas partes cuando ahora mismo está tan vacía, pero os prometo que en mi cabeza ya es alucinante.
Venga, tened un poco de fe en mí. ¿Cuándo os he decepcionado?
Y aunque probablemente ya lo habíais adivinado, lo confirmo por si acaso: sí, es una ciudad. Me estoy inspirando sobre todo en zonas de Los Ángeles, con toques de Brooklyn y Miami. Pero ojo: no estoy intentando replicarlas, solo tomar lo que más me gusta de cada una y juntarlo en un mundo que encaje con mis gustos y preferencias.
Y como sé que queréis más detalles, os adelanto algunas cositas:
Actualmente, el mundo tiene implementada la iluminación de Sunlit Tides, pero el agua es demasiado clara y no termina de convencerme, así que probablemente la cambie. La de Roaring Heights podría ser una opción: su tono se acerca mucho más a lo que siempre he querido y encaja mejor con el estilo de esta ciudad.
Como siempre, nada de contenido personalizado, aunque sí usaré algunos objetos de la Store y un par de mods. Si me conocéis, ya os imagináis cuáles son, porque los he utilizado en muchas de mis construcciones anteriores. Aun así, como quiero hacer un parque de atracciones, probablemente añada algunos nuevos a la lista.
Voy a utilizar todas las expansiones del juego, sin excepción.
Habrá tres puertos, pero ninguna casa flotante habitada.
He establecido el nivel del agua sobre 30, así que podréis colocar solares para hacer submarinismo sin problema. Yo no incluiré ninguno porque, sinceramente, no es algo que me interese demasiado; me gusta que siga siendo algo exclusivo de Isla Paradiso.
Actualmente, el mundo tiene 140 solares (varios estarán vacíos para que podáis colocar vuestras propias construcciones). He trabajado mucho el tema del enrutamiento para que el rendimiento no se vea afectado, y también intentaré no sobrecargar demasiado los solares por el mismo motivo.
Habrá una versión poblada y otra sin poblar, y ambas estarán disponibles en español e inglés.
A partir de ahora, compartiré con vosotros todos los avances que vaya haciendo, para que me hagáis un poco de compañía en este viaje. Me he ahorrado mostraros el proceso de modelado y distribución porque, sinceramente, no era nada digno de admiración. Y para qué mentir: también porque os habríais cansado de verme cambiarlo todo una y otra vez. La versión final no se parece en nada a la inicial. La idea siempre estuvo ahí, y también la intención, pero la he pulido muchísimo estas semanas.
Y para que la espera se os haga más llevadera, iré subiendo a mi Patreon las construcciones que vaya haciendo para Rossmere según las vaya terminando.

[WIP] TS3 UI "Krystal"
I figured it would be cool to finally publicly share what I've been working on behind the scenes, as well as some mockups!
A few of you on Patreon or Discord may have already seen sneak peeks/given feedback. I kept things quiet because I wasn’t sure I’d even do it in the first place as a next modding project, and I didn’t want to let anyone down.
Luckily, @lazyduchess’s Monopatcher made the job ten times easier. The biggest hurdle was that I would've had to make a core mod to override UI code (I’m normally anti–core mod), but the patcher solved that and let me push ahead.

Fun fact: I actually have a degree in UI/UX design! (for websites) While principles like “How wide should this padding be?” or “Which colors send the right signal to the user?”—game UI is a whole different beast.😬

I started with the main menu:
Cut the SimPoints clutter and the “Buy TS4!” banner—after a decade, we get it exists 😉.
Grouped items into clean blocks
Added a text-free “Create New Family” icon
Swapped lot thumbnails for family shots (still baffled by EA’s original choice).
Dropped an options gear in the bottom-left; might label it if it’s too subtle.
Different backgrounds: one solid blue, one closer to the classic gradient.

The hardest of them all lol. Kudos to EA for figuring that one all out! I really struggled with this one in regards to shape and what to even move around/remove!

I figured, it should be nice to pull really into that glassmorphism I've been using over the Mockups! Now I do realise that it can hamper user experience in the sense of not being able to read anything. But these are pictures! So that should be all fine and dandy.
The active item in the queue will now be more "visible". The queued item however, you'll see look a bit more "unactive" compared to what the current version has.

I also completely overhauled the thumbnails for your sims, showing their moods a bit better, and giving the active sim a tiny plumbob! :D

And now the real deal: The control panel! You might notice it's not the whole thing, but I'm still working on that part.
I removed the camera controls from the panel. However, upon feedback, I did hear that it's better to have them as some people are limited in their hand movements on their keyboard and that those controls are really useful. So I will make sure to share 2 versions :)
I also realised I completely forgot the Build/buy mode buttons 😬 So, err, stay tuned for that? lol.

Notifications I really just tidied up :p
I am aware that the space where the text is and the thumbnail is huge, and normally I'd wrap the surrounding text, but apparently in TS3's UI stuff that's practically impossible. Hence that they got this "2 column" effect to them 😉
About releasing the UI:
I'm hoping to release them all in bits and pieces! So first up is the Main Menu (and possibly the Loading screen given it's simplicity).
After that, I hope in my second "update" to release a big portion of Live mode, but that's a bigger task on it's own of course 😉

I made the Edible Raw Fish tuning mod for 3 reasons:
Not ALL raw fish are edible for werewolves (inc. crocodiles)--thanks a lot, EA
I needed my loup-garou/Swamp!Lestat to be able to actually eat the crocodiles on my bayou lot
OF COURSE I needed a way for Saint Louis to gulp down fish instead of killing sims (especially in my IWTV Mersim AU)
Naturally, for raw fish to fill the Vampire Thirst need, my mod REQUIRES Nona's Custom Food Script at MTS.

My spouseman is a real dreamer-content-to-dream and I felt the TS3 scrapped version was too close to Ambitious. So @cityof2morrow made a different icon for it, and changed the GUID as well because Dill's conflicts with HB's simlife goggles. However, the file name is the same as Dill's and will overwrite it.
ETA: These are traits objects that WILL appear in your catalog in Gen/Misc. They are NOT added to the traits collection file as I don't use it. Feel free to do so yourself, of course.
What's coming next: Updates to existing traits mods that are plausibly affected by these traits (plus some personal preference tuning). Check out the to-do list here. Suggestions welcome and encouraged! Anyone who would like early access as a beta tester, please let us know!

Overview
This mod is an experiment that's been in my mind for a while now - Teleporting Sims into community lots as you send your Sims to them, or focus the camera on the lot, etc. Making the town feel more alive, and making it so that community lots are always populated. This makes it work more like a traditional open world game, in which characters are spawned based on camera distance, where you're looking at, etc.
Not only that, it also adds walkbys, much like TS2 or TS4. These are Sims that every once in a while spawn on a sidewalk, out of view, and walk across the screen, then go on their own way.
Now community lots will be filled with Sims.
Installation
2 flavors are available:
"ld_LotPopulation.package" - Default tuning, should make worlds very populated.
"ld_LotPopulation_Reduced.package" - Reduced tuning, should make worlds more lightly populated.
Simply drop the package of your choosing into your "Documents/Sims 3/Mods/Packages" folder.
All tunable values are documented in the XML. There are quite a few of them, but the most important one is probably the "kDemographicsMultiply" value.

More Technical Overview
In case you're curious about how it works more in depth, community lots have a population quota now. This quota depends on a ton of factors, such as time of day, weather, day of the week, demographics, etc. And is different across different lot types. For example, beaches will be booming during hot summer weekends, not so much if it's winter and snowing.
The amount of Sims that are teleported into lots tries to fill this quota. On top of that, Sims will also get pushed to visit lots to fill the quota, so if for example the camera is permanently facing a lot in a way that doesn't allow for Sims to subtly teleport to it without it being super obvious, the mod will push Sims to visit instead.
Sims are also chosen depending on a range of factors such as personality, age, occult status, etc. And they're placed on a "low priority" list for a while upon teleport. This way you won't see the same Sims everywhere.
Teleported and visiting Sims will also get appropriate outfits, needs and will immediately pick something to do, in order to make it more believable.
Walkbys use lot corners as reference when looking for sidewalks. So this feature is most effective with a decent amount of lots on the world.
There might be some lag every once in a while unfortunately. This is kind of necessary, as it tries to find spots that are actually routable to teleport Sims to, so that they're not stuck. If you find it particularly bad, you can try the reduced tuning version.

This is a long-ass masterpost where I break down how the worlds in my save connect culturally, regionally, and politically. It’s not about exact replicas, but resonance.
I’ve been obsessed with geography and history since elementary, and after years working in hospitality, medical tourism, and professional language interpretation, it was only natural I’d end up wanting my sim worlds to reflect real cultural friction, flow, and complexity.
Every EA world (as of 2025), from Newcrest to Nordhaven, is mapped here with a real-world logic: how people speak, how laws work, what histories get remembered, and how land is treated. Some TS3 worlds are referred where TS4 falls short in representing a certain culture or region. I use the following mods (plus a healthy dose of play-pretend) to build the gameplay experience I want:

I know I said no more sims content on this main blog, but the weirdest thing just happened and I have to share it with you, fellow simmers.
After reinstalling the game and spending what felt like years of my life setting everything up, I was able to play TS3 for a little bit, and something happened that I've never seen in this game before, after many years of playing.
Weird music started playing suddenly, music I've never heard before, quite a long tune. While it played, I was looking for something on the lot causing it. The entire first floor of the house was covered in trash that appeared seemingly from nowhere, trash on the floor of every room. On one of the counters sat a random pumpkin of excellent quality. I did not put it there. I zoomed in and heard rodent noises. And sure enough, there they were.

When I click on the trash, it said "shoo the rats."
At first, I thought maybe it was some kind of mod I installed a while ago and forgot about. But a google search says that it may be one of the "challenges" you can get when your sims move into a new lot. Except my sims have been living on that same lot for generations. And I have never seen this particular challenge.

Personal update!
Hey everyone! I started to write this at 9:40 am, then I got distracted and did not post it right away but I guess activity on tumblr at that time is low anyway.
I am happy to report that I am still going strong with my changed day/night cycle. It's not always easy, I don't get into bed early enough on some days and feel pretty groggy the next. But this is always where I get defeated - I think okay, sleeping in for half an hour won't be a problem... but then I go to bed even later and the cycle goes backwards really quickly. This time I am determined to stay strong even if that means I walk around like a zombie and drink 1.5 liters of black tea on some days to keep me awake 😆
I guess it takes time to adjust the evening routines too. On these "useless" days, I often play Anno 1800 which is engaging and relaxing at the same time. I often quit the game to mod this and that in the game, so my brain is pretty engaged still and this is how I like it most days.
Since new habits need at least 6 weeks to be counted as a new stable habit, I will focus only on my sleep rhythm for the time being and allow myself to take a mental break from other projects to eliminate the inner expectation of working on those when I know it is unreasonable at this time. It also does me good to let go of any pressure to create TS3 content. I know it has been a while but it does nobody any good if I guilt myself because of it. I often get negative feelings around my simblr lately and it sucks, like I am really unsure about the few AI patterns I made and the poll made me really question what I should do since it is pretty divided. I do not know whether those are more random people who answered the poll or people who often engage in my blog anyway. So I don't really know if I should release those patterns at all or if people come and harass me over them if I do. But not releasing them would mean that energy to create them would be truly wasted, I think? If the images exist already, shouldn't they be used to make it count? Because thinking of that makes me uneasy, I put my creative energy into Anno 1800 for the time being which is not emotionally loaded. I am way too disorganized to really do beauty building, and most of the time I am just happy when my population get the goods they want 😆but modding another item that helps with that or editing other people's mods to fit my needs is fun and satisfying. It's a bit like editing tuning mods for Sims 3 (just with some more complicated layers added depending on the mod).
Knowing myself, I will get another pattern idea soon enough though, and sweater season is fast approaching which means I get into the mood of creating more cozy patterns, hopefully! I want to give a shoutout to people who have shown my patterns in screenshots lately. I admit I am not very active on tumblr at the moment and do not see everything I should. Memorable ones were @martassimsbook and @gittessimsadventuresog, but anyone else please feel addressed too! It means a lot to me to see my patterns in use, it makes me feel validated and useful and lifts my spirits. It also helps to dispel some of my negative thoughts (maybe patterns do not go obsolete after all if people are still using them). I'm really happy they are so useful to you! A lot of you probably do not post many gameplay screenshots but use my patterns anyway, I cannot forget about you 💜thanks for all the support!

[UPDATED] CAS Background Replacement - TS3 - Artorsims
I spend most of my time in CAS and I really wanted some prettier and more immersive CAS backgrounds. So, I have converted some from TS4 to TS3.
This first set of 5 backgrounds is by Artorsims. I completely fell in love with these when I saw them and they inspired me to attempt this conversion in the first place.
More sets are coming so please stay tuned!

Information
The background uses a 2048x2048px image so it may slow down your computer and look blurry if graphics settings are not on high. Use at your own risk.
The CAS Room Default will replace the CAS Room, Create-a-Pet room, and the Create-a-Bot room. You can only have 1 CAS Room Default at a time.
The Stylist Room Default will only replace the Stylist Room. You can only have 1 Stylist Room Default at a time. Requires the Ambitions EP.

[WIP]: Lyralei's Pose Player Addon Fixes!
All credit for the original Pose Player Addon goes to VirtualArtisan/Misukisu! This mod is simply an enhancement to their amazing work, building on the foundation they created.

Ages ago, @nocturnalazure sparked a discussion about Pose Player Addon. While the current changes may not fully align with her original ideas, I wanted to share what I’ve been working on so far! 😊
Side Note: Noctie,when I first wrote that, I didn’t actually have a Sim I wanted to pose like that yet, but lately I've been trying to and it's SO FRUSTRATING! Argh! :p . So rest assured, I’m definitely looking into adding this feature now!

Current Features
It will now remember what poses your sim has done this gameplay session! This way, you can re-pose them into a pose they did 5 poses before the current one.

Poses Are Now Automatically Sorted!
We all know how looooooong it can take when loading all the poses from pose list. So, what I've added, is the additional option to only show poses based off it's category!
🔧How it works under the hood:
If you’re familiar with XML, you’ll pick this up in no time!
Each category (let’s use Emotion as an example) is associated with specific keywords. For instance, the Emotion category might include subcategories like Happiness, Sadness, Anger, etc.
Here’s what the XML for Happiness looks like:
<keyword_emotion> <name_category>Happiness</name_category> <keywords>happy, happiness, smile, smiled, smiling, laugh, laughed, laughing, jump, jumped, jumping, cheer, cheered, cheering, clap, clapped, clapping</keywords> </keyword_emotion>
As shown in the (highlighted in blue) keywords line, I’ve added a list of terms. These keywords help determine whether a pose belongs to the Happiness category. The script scans all installed poses and checks if their name, description, or pose key matches any of these keywords.
Of course, I’m still fine-tuning this feature, as some keywords (like jump) can have different meanings depending on the context.
But without further ado, here it is in picture form!

Ignore the weapon poses, I still need to debug why that's being added, but overall, in this case, it's got "shyness" poses! :)

And the best part?
You can create your own custom categories, and the script will automatically detect them! 🎉
I’m currently working on some default categories for those who prefer a plug-and-play solution or don’t feel comfortable diving into the technical side of things. But if you enjoy customizing your workflow, the flexibility is all yours! 😊
What I'm adding before release:
Adding the option to seamlessly use both “look at” and “facial expression” together.
Adding the option to see the categorized lists, but for non-pose list poses.
Adding an in-game Category maker, so you don't have to edit the XML. It will mean you need to replace the XML file in S3PE yourself. But I can always make a quick How-To for guidance 😉
A better "look at" system. TS3 actually comes with a system where the sim can "look" at something by turning multiple sections of their bodies. Here's the full list:  Torso ,Head, Eye. Currently Pose addon only allows Eyes to look at things.
Merge two poses together. This way you can use one pose that's specifically made for facial expressions, while the rest is handled by, say, that sitting pose you want to use!
... And of course anything else that sounds like a good idea by other pose player users! 😉

— Hi, my name is Linn and I'm in abusive relationship with Sims 3 for sixteen years.
I created my simblr blog two years ago and posted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Even this post was started on December 6, 2024. The one before that? May 16, 2024.
My relationship with TS3 feels toxic. It's this endless on-and-off cycle: gaslighting yourself into believing the game can handle the basics, when it absolutely can't. Nothing works, yet here you are, desperately trying to patch things up, convincing yourself that tomorrow it’ll be different. That maybe, just maybe, it’ll finally… work.
At the end of last year, I discovered I’d been playing with an incomplete store for YEARS. Finding all these random, mysterious objects I’d never seen before? That was surreal.
Later I stumbled across an unexplainable memory leak. I had to reinstall the game, because upgrading my PC somehow messed up something in the registry.
Before reinstalling, I moved my perfectly organized, fully functional mods and overrides folders to my desktop (without any backup, of course). Then, I zoned out for no reason, deleted the whole thing and emptied the recycle bin.
Why?
NO IDEA.
Instead of playing I got stuck redowloading everything, because recovering utility left me with bunch of broken mods and cc. I had this nagging feeling that one day I’m just going to turn off all my cc and go full vanilla.
Of course I haven't played since. Of course I haven't recovered shit. I'm just stupidely gazing into my mods folder now.
What's even funnier, I found my Mods folder from 2013. It's a complete mess. Mods conflicting, cc broken… and yet I remember the game working perfectly.
Why?
NO IDEA.
I upgraded my pc again. Reinstalled the game this week. Realized I didn’t even like the cc I had.
I suddenly understood that I don't need 30GB of content and 200+ hairs. So I started from scratch.
I hope I will spend the next week playing my dynasty. Or just playing. And posting something here.
But for now, thanks to ADHD, I'm recovering dead links and old cc for shits and giggles, so stay tuned!
