BUT also I have questions from reading your answers to your asks! 1) when did Tsuno figure out that Shikamaru and Neji have a thing going on in Kusa, 2) is shikamaru ever going to tell his bffs about Neji, 3) did Ibiki suspect the ShikaNeji because Neji refused to answer anything about Shikamaru? <3

I can't begin to explain how ridiculously excited and grateful I was to discover them at Stupid O'Clock last night. BUT also I have questions from reading your answers to your asks! 1) when did Tsuno figure out that Shikamaru and Neji have a thing going on in Kusa

Tsuno suspected something was afoot pre-mission. This wasn't explicitly written in the fic, but I can tell you Tsuno was aware of Shikaku's animosity towards Neji and sensed there was something at play regarding Neji and Shikamaru, though he couldn't have explicitly stated what that was at the time. His suspicions were officially confirmed after Neji and Kurayami's showdown at the end of the mission, which led to Neji's Kishō Tensei stunt. Though what really sealed the deal was Neji's reaction to arresting Shikamaru and his subsequent choice to decline the ANBU offer.

2) is shikamaru ever going to tell his bffs about Neji

Apologies for the non-answer, luv. There are several ways that could play out and the plot bunnies haven't yet decided which specific carrot they're going to dangle infront of my face.

3) did Ibiki suspect the ShikaNeji because Neji refused to answer anything about Shikamaru? <3

Not quite. Ibiki suspected for several reasons:

Shikaku's strange (yet deceptively casual 😅) axe-grinding sessions with Hyūga Neji. Like Tsuno, Ibiki suspected Neji had crossed one of Shikaku's indelible lines (family) to get on Shikaku's dark side — and Ibiki assumed (correctly) it was related to Shikamaru.

Shikaku's reaction to Neji's shock-decision to decline the ANBU; Shikaku was oddly forgiving. This had Ibiki reflecting on the sacrifice Neji made and he assumed feelings ran deeper than 'comradeship' between Shikamaru and Neji.

Tsuno disclosed his suspicions to Ibiki during their case review and Shirataka ‘postmortem' debrief, discussing failure analysis in Neji's recruitment.

Later on, Ibiki would observe Shikamaru and Neji through the lens of suspicion and what he observed was enough to confirm their involvement.

Even though Ibiki is aware, Genma later discloses it in a throwaway comment (if my notes are still correct, I need to check my old scribbles).

thinking about hiroakis presentation to the world vs presentation to a smaller group. thinking about defensive position and how hiroaki constantly feels the need to defend himself probably as he was conditioned being in the spotlight all the time. thinking about how he and tsuno are so similar but hiroaki tries to push people away while tsuno tries to push people up. sigh. hiroaki.

Hiroaki is such a complicated person. He's so human and he perceives his existence in such a fascinating manner that he ends up screwing himself over in such harmful ways.

Also omg, I love the connection you made to Tsuno and Hiroaki! They indeed are two people who choose to present their public images differently to their actual selves, each with a different goal in mind.

I love their interactions a lot especially since both of them have had a past with drugs (Hiroaki's is still ongoing). I think they both can benefit from hanging around each other. But they also need to learn how to express vulnerability!

Tsuno so that she doesn't burn herself out by constantly caring only about others and neglecting herself and Hiroaki so that he stops pushing away anyone who dares to care for him.

anon ive been sitting on this ask forever cuz i was gonna write a fic but i give up so you get my thoughts instead

IMAGINE this fr. hiroaki gets so severely injured by the blows to his head that hes left permanently neurologically disabled, but not dead. yanagi didnt kill him. so they both have to remain in this building together while hiroaki needs basically full-time care and yanagi has to live with the fact that hes permanently ruined hiroaki's life in a moment of rage. hes never gonna be able to work again. hes never gonna be able to create again. and thats yanagi's fault.

i know most people would probably slot ojima in as hiroaki's full-time caregiver at that point because shipping, but i dont think that would work at all. ojima ends up grieving the "loss" of hiroaki way too hard and just cant take care of him. he knows hiroaki would hate being cared for like that and he cant bring himself to be around this person who used to be hiroaki. kind of like deng and genki?? i think tsuno would probably be the one to step up as his caregiver at that point.

YES I HAVE MANY

Okay first of all I want to establish that I very much love making Tsuno A Little Bit Strange in her tastes because she deserves it. That said I think she’d definitely go for silly cute songs but also the strange weird lore songs. Tsuno Manami Bad End Night Series fan Tsuno Manami untitled/x0o0x songs fan Tsuno Manami Heisei Project fan.

Anyway she also has practically no criteria for music except that she doesn’t love songs that are heavy on the real life trauma or suicide elements. She thinks those songs definitely have their place as art but they’re not exactly put on the playlist to vibe to songs. Other than that though pretty much everything is fair game.

She would love PinocchioP songs so much I say, definitely not projecting. Magical Girl and Chocolate, What’s Inside, Cosmospice, Nee Nee Nee, Loveit, etc. She really likes how bouncy they sound (same).

Her favorite producers would probably be PinocchioP, Hitoshizuku & Yama, Harumaki Gohan, Wadatakeaki, Wonderful Opportunity, MikitoP, Nayutalien, Meddmia, etc.

She has a very different taste in vocaloid from Wada but she probably got into it through him. They talk about different producers and their styles of tuning together. Tsuno’s favorite vocaloids are Gumi and IA but she also really likes a bunch of other ones. She’s also very easily influenced so some of Isono and Wada’s favorite songs sneak into her playlists a lot :)
