BEST EXPERIENCE?: Meeting my long-term friends through all the wacky writing adventures we've had. We don't rp together anymore, but we've instead made a lot of online and offline memories, share our lives, and do all that fun gay friendship stuff.

RP PET PEEVES?: Purple prose. If you enjoy it, that's fine. My academic background just makes it difficult to see the appeal.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: I lean towards angst. Fluff is nice, too. Smut, I'll only do if it's plot related.

PLOTS OR MEMES?: Either or. If I were to come back, I'd probably stick to memes on here, until I fully returned.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: I don't have a preference. Write as much or as little as you need to in order to get the point across. Sometimes moments don't need 6 paragraphs, and other times they do. I write for the story, not counting words.

TIME TO WRITE?: When I have time and when I have the mental energy. Since I've been gone, I've been really busy with other hobbies. On discord, I try to reply within a few days or a week. I've learned at this point to never force myself to sit down and do it (I used to do that, and I would get burnt out quite frequently).

i wish it wasn't so normal for people to complain about unfinished wips or fics that take a long time to update. because sometimes i think i have a really fun idea for a fic but it'd take a while for me to write, and i like talking about my work as i do it and i don't like writing entire fics over like 20k without sharing, because i lose steam. so if i were to write and post that cool fic idea, it'd be as a wip. and then i think about all the people who just refuse to engage with wips, or all the other people who would just go "update pls" all the time, and of how people only really comment in the first 24 hours something is posted and then it's lost to obscurity, and then i just go "actually whats the point in going through the effort writing this out? i'll just daydream about it now and then and be done with it." and then i don't write it. alas!

ok based on what im seeing from cohost it actually seems like the best alternative if you actually wanna be able to make whatever kinda posts you want. so like for my purposes it HYPOTHETICALLY works best. its also pretty similar to tumblr in terms of layout though im not a huge fan of the design of the site? hopefully i can customize it more though- theres a waiting period of about a day or two before i can really post or do anything so i really cant say 100% if im on board

but if tumblr went down i might try to use cohost for my oc stuff, and honestly i would like it if enough ppl used it so that i could just stay on there, but if i have to use twitter to keep in touch w ppl so be it. i really hate how public twitter feels though, i like it better on smaller sites like here and, well, hypothetically cohost, where it doesnt feel like i could be subject to the public eye at any point.

so yeah ill tell you all how good or bad it is once the waiting period is over and hopefully if its good enough for me and maybe some of you we can make accs to move to, if the time ever comes. but for now im happy with my stuff here and i hope i can keep it here. if you already have one my username there is the same, tho obvs its empty. anyway im going to watch k on

Everytime my cis friends are like "ugh men" "hating men lol" etc etc. I have to ahhhh I have to grrrrrrrr I never know quite what to say though

#its hard to know what to say when its a viewpoint born from trauma #the people i know who talk that way have had bad experiences with boyfriends and stuff and i dont know that experience #its hard when i know that its mean to be light hearted and jokey #that doesnt excuse it #but it makes it harder to know what to say to get my point across #especially with cis people cause they dont always inherently understand the idea of gender as a construct #its weird cause its one of those things that arent immediately harmful but it has an effect over time #how do i explain that seperating gender like this only widens the patriarchical gap #while still acknowledging the pain these women have gone through that makes them want to repeat this rhetoric #i guess thats how #its the patriarchy and the system not the inherant nature of men #and acting like it is just the nature of men ignores the bigger issue and isolates people from eachother #using tumblr like a journal again whoops lol

every now and then i remember im somewhere on the aroace spectrum and i just kinda stop in my tracks and go 'huh!' and try not to sit on it for very long

#i dont really? get crushes? ive never fallen in love #ive defo felt attraction/infatuation #but the idea of living in a space with someone else and being romantic with them.... it would have to be a very specific kind of person.#to the point where i often feel its unlikely i would find someone like yhat #i dont know if its also because of my autism because thats always made sharing spaces with people hell for me #i dont go on holidays with my family anymore because they make me miserable #havent for 6 or 7 years now #i was surprised by how easy it was to coexist with my roommates on the greek/italy trip i went on when i was 17 #but i suspect that was because i'd known and been close friends with one of the girls for 5 years #and i suspect both are also on the spectrum. at the very least they have some autistic traits that dont quantify a diagnosis #but made coexisting in the same space without encroaching on one another very easy #as for sex im just neutral on that #dont care much either way #so i guess this would make me demi? if i were to be specific #but that feels exhausting to have to come out as and explain over and over so i dont #which is why i just call myself bi because that fits #im bi and im demi #this was brought on by going through the trending aroace tag and being like ''wow i relate to everything here a bit.
