This is the second fic I did for @ecto-implosion. This one was for @skarlettskwrl's art, which can be found here. Very cool art with a very interesting concept, lots of fun to write!
Summary:
Jazz moved away for college to start her own life, far away from ghosts. She didn't expect for her parents to finally capture the ghost boy and bring him to their lab. She didn't prepare to race back to Amity Park in an effort to save her brother from whatever grizzly fate awaited him. No matter how fast she went, she wasn't fast enough, or strong enough. She would never make that mistake again.
Trigger warnings for: Gore, violence, permanent disfigurement, dissection, unwilling transformation, patricide/matricide, bad parents jack and maddie, and wolves
Jazz's heavy breathing kept time with the pounding of her footsteps on the pavement, which in turn matched the pain in her head. She was tired. She was so, so tired, but that didn't matter. She couldn't stop. She was too late as it was.
Danny had assured her that he would be just fine. "You don't need to put your whole life on hold just to look after me," he'd said with a roll of his eyes. "I took care of myself just fine before you figured everything out."
Jazz had mirrored his eye roll. "Yes, because getting beaten up twice a day, failing your classes, and trying to give yourself stitches at one in the morning is taking care of yourself."
"I survived, didn't I?" He'd said.
"No, I'm pretty sure you didn't," Jazz had said. "But you are right. You've gotten better at taking care of yourself. And Sam and Tucker will still be here to clean up whatever messes you make." She ruffled Danny's hair. "I'll accept the offer."
The next few months had passed in a whirl of ghost fights and preparation until the day was finally here. Jazz had packed up her car with her belongings and had driven twelve hours to her new college campus. She'd declined her parents offer to help her move in; she appreciated it, of course, but she wanted to commit to the move - jumpsuits and the GAV weren't the greatest way to make a first impression.
Jazz wasn't able to disconnect from Amity entirely. She watched the news every day, normally as background noise while she studied. It was nice to see what her family was getting up to, even if it was normally accompanied by some kind of massive fight.
It was, of course, stressful. The first few days had her regretting her choice to move away at all, with every live report sending her down another spiral of what ifs. But she had been working on managing her anxiety, and she'd been a part of those fights enough to know how they would go; ghost shows up, Danny kicks butt, their parents show up, Danny runs away. She didn't need to worry.
And then Danny had gone down to a surprise Fenton Bazooka, gotten sucked into the thermos, and been carted away in the GAV, and Jazz knew she had messed up.
She'd already been awake for nine hours before she'd seen the news.
She hadn't grabbed anything besides her keys, hadn't even bothered to check traffic or the weather or anything. She just ran down to her car, skipping as many stairs as she could, and peeled out of the student parking lot. She'd driven as fast as she could, but the drive was still twelve hours, and she had to stop for gas, and she was still human and needed to eat and it didn't matter what she did she wouldn't be there fast enough.
Jazz was beyond tired by the time she entered Amity Park. If she hadn't pulled so many all-nighters in high school and then so many more as a part of Team Phantom, she would've been a mess. But she was fine. She was fine. She had to be fine because Danny-
She hoped that her hunch was wrong.
She hoped that she'd get home, and find her whole family, safe and sound sitting around the kitchen table, fighting off a hoard of ectodogs before deciding that they should just settle for takeout again. She hoped that Danny would be playing Doomed in his room and her parents would be down in the lab, trying to figure out how to remake their technology to not hurt Danny.
She hoped that Danny had gotten a chance to tell them and their love for their son was stronger than their hatred for ghosts or their need for knowledge.
Jazz hoped. But she knew her parents, and she knew, with a sick kind of certainty, what she would find when she finally reached Fentonworks.
Amity Park was nothing short of a disaster. Some time during her drive, another ghost had attacked. Neither Danny or her parents had answered the call, which left Valerie to try and take the threat down by herself. The roads were torn up from the fight, and traffic was at a complete standstill no matter what way Jazz tried to take.
It had only taken a few minutes stuck in traffic for Jazz to ditch her car entirely and start sprinting across town. She ignored the exhaustion clouding her brain, weighing down her arms and legs. She ignored the pain in her chest and her head.
She needed to keep going. She needed to be faster.
It took far too long for Fentonworks to come into view, another small eternity on top of the long one she'd already put up with in the car. She barreled up the front stairs, tugging on the door knob. It was locked. The door was never locked; locked doors didn't do anything to stop ghosts, and that was the only concern that warranted concern in the Fenton household. Jazz fumbled her keys out of her pocket. She squinted down at them, trying to figure out which one of them opened the door.
It took too long for her to figure out which one it was. It took too long for her tired, clumsy fingers to open the door. It took too long for her to get into the house. She shouldn't have left in the first place. What had she been thinking, abandoning Danny like that? Her own brother, who had been working so, so hard to keep everyone safe, and she'd just up and left.
She was a horrible, horrible sister.
She pushed her way into the house. It was dark, and quiet, and mostly clean. That was terrible. The only time Fentonworks was anything comparable to clean or quiet was when her parents were busy. And they were only ever busy when they were in the lab.
Jazz started the walk into the basement on shaking legs. She should be running. Maybe if she ran she would be able to stop them. She would run down the stairs to find her parents standing over an unconscious Danny. They'd be shocked to see her, and listen to what she had to say, and they'd apologize and hug her and Danny would wake up with no memories and a family that loved him.
Maybe, if she had stayed. Maybe if she had been faster. Maybe if she'd been a good sister. Maybe if she'd kept her promise and been the only other Fenton that put family first, that didn't get swept away in their own desires. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Maybes didn't matter right now.
Right now, Jazz was descending the stairs, and she could taste the sour tinge of ectoplasm mixed with a too-strong metallic flavor, and she could hear the sound of her parents talking, even if she couldn't make out the words. And then she turned the corner, and she could see.
The portal at the back of the room was the same bright green it almost always was, rendering most of the room as green tinged silhouettes. Everything except for the table in the center of the room, the blinding fluorescents all resting on three people and lighting the scene with blinding clarity. Jazz's family.
Jack had his back to her, humming a familiar tune to himself. His normal orange suit had an additional mask.
Jazz recognized it from a half dozen science experiments the two of them had worked on when she was younger. He'd worn it while they worked on her first baking soda volcano, Jazz wearing a much smaller, teal one. They'd added too much, and had gotten the mixture all over their suits. She remembered laughing about it as they wiped their hands across their faces, trying to clean off their eye protection.
Now, Jack's suit was covered in a bright green liquid, specks of red just barely visible in every splatter. His hands weren't busy wiping off a harmless foam, but carefully depositing something into a jar. It might've been a liver, but Jazz tore her gaze away before she could properly identify it. She didn't want to know what it was.
Unfortunately, her eyes found something so much worse. Maddie was dressed nearly identically to Jack. She was faced towards Jazz, just enough for her to make out Maddie's expression. Her face was steady, frozen in a look of concentration, but Jazz could recognize the glimmer of fascination in her eyes. A fascination that was directed at Danny, lying unconscious on the table.
At least, Jazz hoped he was unconscious. If he wasn't, then he'd be aware of Maddie's hands wrist deep in his chest cavity. He'd be aware of his skin peeled back and pinned to the sides of the table to keep it out of the way, as if it was nothing more than a nuisance for Maddie and Jack to deal with. He'd be aware of the fact that his organs were being carefully packaged into labeled jars, that he was being taken apart piece by piece as if he was some fucked up puzzle that they were going to rebuild later. If Jazz didn't do something, then maybe they would.
But Jazz was going to do something. She didn't know what, exactly, it would be, but it certainly wouldn't be pretty. She wanted to make them hurt, just like they'd made her baby brother hurt. But how could she? Jazz may be strong, but her parents were stronger.
And wasn't that just the theme of the day?
Jazz just wasn't enough. She wasn't fast enough, wasn't strong enough, wasn't dedicated to protecting her family enough to keep them safe and sane. And now she'd lost all of them.
It didn't matter.
She wasn't going to just stand there and watch. Even if she couldn't actually do anything, even if the only result was that she'd end up on the table next to Danny, then she'd do it. Jazz lunged down the next step, charging towards Maddie as fast as she could. She was the one who was hurting Danny. She was the one that needed to be stopped as soon as possible.
Somewhere in her leap, something shifted in Jazz.
Originally, her jump had been clumsy. She hadn't put any real thought into what she would do when she landed, pushed forward entirely by her frustration at herself, at her parents- at everything that had happened.
She definitely didn't put enough power and care to soar through the air, and yet that's what she was doing; her feet were stretched behind her, yet never so much as brushed the ground, even as she traveled further than she had intended to.
That was fine. It just meant she was closer to her goal.

Jazz landed crouched on the ground just ahead of where Jack was standing. She was moving again before his shocked yelp even reached her, continuing towards Maddie. Jazz tackled her, knocking Maddie away from Danny.
Good. That was the goal.
Jazz tore at Maddie with her hands, sharp claws tearing through both protective clothing and skin. Maddie shrieked, the sound shrill and loud. Maybe it was from how long Jazz had been awake, but the sound made her head spin.
She blocked it out. She couldn't afford to get distracted.
Her hand was sticky with blood when she felt the burning pain of an ectoplasm blast, she whirled around, snarling towards Jack. His eyes were wide with terror, a Fenton Blaster pointed directly at Jazz, the muzzle dripping the small bit of ectoplasm that had liquefied during the blast onto the floor.
Jazz almost laughed; was he really so far gone that he couldn't recognize either of his children? He should know that that wouldn't work on her.
Oh well. It worked in her favor.
She left Maddie bleeding on the floor, pushing off of the ground with her hands and feet. She stayed low; the Fenton Blaster might not be able to hurt her as badly as it might hurt a ghost might hurt Danny but it was still unpleasant. As long as he had the blaster in his hands, Jazz needed to stay small and fast. Another blast went over her shoulder, leaving a sizzling puddle on the ground where it hit.
That was her opening.
In just a few bounds, she was next to Jack. She wasn't sure what came over her, but before she could think, her mouth had closed around his leg, teeth digging into soft flesh. She could taste the latex of the jumpsuit he always wore, but the flavor was quickly washed away by the salty, metallic taste of blood.
Jack howled and tried to tear his leg away, but Jazz only bit down harder and harder. Distantly, Jazz could hear the sound of the Fenton Blaster being fired again and again, but Jack's aim was just as terrible as ever. Still, Jazz bit down harder.
The snap of bones between her jaw was not surprising.
Jack was strong, and his continued struggles only put more and more pressure on the bone. Honestly, the fact that Jazz had managed to keep the leg clenched between her teeth in the first place was impressive. With the breaking of his bone, Jack crumpled to the floor, the blaster flying from his hand and skidding across the metal floor with a horrible screeching noise that caused Jazz's ears to ring.
She let go of his leg and made her way so she was positioned just above Jack. His eyes were filled with tears, and broken pleas to not hurt him, to let him and his family go, that they didn't do anything wrong tumbled from his lips.
This time, Jazz did laugh at the irony of the situation, but all that came out was a low growl.
She could spare him; he'd learned his lesson about messing with her pack- he wouldn't be making that mistake any time soon. And he was still her father. Her eyes met his gloves, stained a sickening mixture of red and green.
No.
He hadn't had any mercy on her baby brother, on his own son.
She wasn't going to have any mercy on him.
Once again guided by instinct, she snapped down on his neck. Jack's strangled cry of pain was quickly stifled as he choked on his own blood.
Jazz stood up from the fresh corpse. She should wipe the blood from her mouth, but her job wasn't finished yet. Maddie was still whimpering and moaning from her side of the room, unable to move from the damage to her abdomen.
Jazz could finish her off now. It would be easy.
But Maddie wasn't her priority. She never had been.
Jazz padded up to the table to start assessing Danny's injuries. She could just barely see him, the edge of the table blocking most of her view. She must still have been crouched, even though she felt like she was standing.
She tried to straighten to her full height, only to find that she couldn't. Maybe she'd hurt something without realizing it, but she didn't feel hurt. The only pain was a slight sting from where Jack had hit her with the blaster.
If she wasn't able to stand, Jazz would just have to pull herself up. She reached both of her arms to the table, trying to grab the edge and was met with the sight of clawed paws drenched in blood. She flinched backwards, and the paws flinched with her.
Oh. That was her.
Jazz felt the familiar feeling of panic surge in her chest yet again, carrying with it the taste of bile. She forced it back down and returned to her quest of getting to Danny. She couldn't afford to panic right now, not while Danny was on the table bleeding out. Everything else was a secondary concern.
This time, when she lifted her paws, she did not flinch away. Moving felt weird, now that she was aware of the changes, but she managed to lift her head up to get her first clear look at Danny.
She wished she hadn't. Just as she had seen before, his abdomen had been cut in a neat Y shape, the skin peeled back and held down by evenly spaced clamps. His rib cage was exposed to air, and the left rib bones had been severed, letting her see straight to the thin layer of flesh on the other side, no organs or muscle to block her view. His stomach cavity was exactly that; a cavity. Everything had been removed until all that was left were some twitching muscles.
His face had not been spared from the mutilation. His mouth had been pried open with a metal gag, the device still stuck between his lips. Teeth had been forcibly extracted, the front part of his tongue had been cut off, and dried blood and ectoplasm pooled in his open mouth. His eyelids were pulled back, similarly to his torso, and his eyes had been completely removed. The cavities left behind had been filled with some kind of brownish silicone mixture. They had been trying to make a mold. Jazz didn't know what to do. If she'd had hands, then she'd be able to gather the organs, stitch Danny's torso back together, and inject him with the emergency ecto dejecto. If they were lucky, then he might be ok, at least physically. Eventually. But now she didn't even have that small hope.
She couldn't stifle the whimper that came out of her throat. She couldn't recognize it as her own, far more animalistic than any sound she should be able to make. By all accounts, nobody should be able to recognize it as her, and yet the moment the sound passed her lips, Danny's mouth opened.
His voice was broken, garbled and strained, but his words were still understandable. "Jazz?" he whispered. He seemed to be trying to lift his head to turn and look at her. He couldn't, obviously. Jazz couldn't actually reply, couldn't offer the comforting words she wanted to, no matter how empty they may have been. She couldn't offer the apologies she'd been reciting in her head for hours now. All she could do was whimper again.
"I..." Danny said. He gave up trying to move, letting his head and neck go limp. "I knew you'd come."
If Jazz hadn't forced Danny to drive her to the Far Frozen to learn ghost medicine, she would have panicked as Danny's body started to glow a soft blue, and then started to collapse in on itself until all that was left was a glowing orb in the same color Danny had glowed. But she had, so instead she saw it as a symbol of hope.
It was very, very hard to permanently end a ghost. Most of their physical forms were built on ectoplasm, so they could sustain a lot of damage. Even the worst injuries could be healed in time. However, in the case that they were seriously injured, they could retreat. Reduce themselves to just their core, focusing all of their energy into fixing their form.
Doing this meant that ghosts could heal nearly everything in a matter of weeks, sometimes sooner. It wasn't something that could just happen at any time; the ghost needed to feel truly, completely safe, and even then, it took energy to condense like that, so if a ghost was too far gone by the time they got somewhere safe, they wouldn't be able to do it.
Danny had enough energy to retreat into his core, and had trusted Jazz enough to do it. As long as Jazz kept him safe, then he would heal. He would be ok. Jazz nudged Danny's core gently off the table and into her mouth. She'd seen videos of dogs carrying eggs in their mouths before, and figured that was the best way for her to get Danny out of the lab. She was surprised to find how natural it was, even with how incredibly cold Danny's core was.
Jazz made her way out of the lab, not sparing so much as a glance at the carnage she left behind.
She had already failed Danny once. She wouldn't be letting him down again.

Prompt Three: Temper
It started with Louvel and a picnic. Maybe it actually started when Inwa noticed the oppressive collar around the duskwights neck and how much he had been seeing it. Perhaps the truth was that it started when he started seeing the downturn in Louvel's mood with the sudden disappearance of his husband Seviere. No matter when it started, Inwa fell victim to waves of burning anger that continued to smolder in his chest.
The mission gave him a name to assign the feeling to. Merrik Darovian, son of Abigail and Fergus Darovian. After his father died in a mining accident, he was the sole caregiving to an ill mother. Once that became too much for him, he killed her. Somewhere within this time, he started being away from his mother more and more. During that time away, he kidnapped Seviere and tortured Louvel for wanting him back. Before the mission began, Inwa did not care for the man or the actions that drove him. Learning the horrible fate of his mother from the ghost herself didn't endear himself to change that opinion.
Inwa didn't wish peace for this man, and that fact unsettled him. Louvel asked him to consider the information they could draw from the man's belongings and life, but Inwa didn't care. They could tell him nothing that would change his mind. What was there to learn about a man that would do such horrible acts to his own mother? Why would he want to know what reasoning he may have for breathing, much less harming those he cared about?
This man wasn't the worse of the adversaries they've had as a company. Between the gods, dragons, fae, and madmen who treated life and emotion like a toy, this was the one that inwa could find no forgiveness for. Sitting in front of the fire that roared before him, he could only find contempt and a desire to see this man to the other side for a mother that believed in her rubbish bin of a son more than he deserved.
Ducking his head into his hand, Inwa took slow breaths. The cold air of Ishgard always felt different filling his lungs. The fire did its job of heating his body and the blanket around him, but it did nothing for the thought that kept coming and going from his mind. A distraction was in order. Merrik, or Mavrick as he seemed to be called, would spend no more time on his mind that evening. He would make sure of it. His job and co-workers depended on his cool head.
"Swan's darkness isn't hidden," Inwa remembers the words he told Edarien during that meeting as he gripped gloved hands against his chest. The more he thought about things like this, the harder it was to ignore.
"This is fine. I can handle it. Everything will be fine."

Lol I'm gonna get so much flak for this, but here are my opinions on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley (I didn't play it myself, I watched manlybadasshero's playthrough on Youtube and I think he covered all the endings except the one where Andrew accepts his mom's offer and regrets killing her) -
So, first the most click - drawing aspect of the game - the incest subtext / text / whatever. Let me clarify a few things. People say that Andy is attracted to Leyley too, and the ponytail scene with Julia is considered highly suspicious by many. While I agree that there are definitely grounds for the incest route to be an option, I think people get the evidence for it vs innocuous stuff mixed up. The ponytail thing, I don't think that it's evidence per se of incestuous feelings on his part. If you're close with your siblings and had fun with them, you may transfer some of that behaviour to your interactions with your lovers purely out of playfulness divorced from any projection of incestuous longings. If he liked pulling on his mom or Ashley's ponytails to tease them as a kid, he'd enjoy fooling around that way with Julia too, it's not damning. Same with the belt loops thing, some people are handsier that what is considered socially acceptable but it's in an innocent way. His embarrassed, evasive reaction to their mom encountering them on the sofa could be simply out of a desire not to be misinterpreted due to his sister's weird statements having created fertile ground for that since long.
But I agree that they have possibly sus vibes even before the climax of episode 2 with THAT route option - in the subtler scenes, the ones that many people overlook eg the lip caress towards Ashley in which his expression turns embarrassed. It could be due to simple sexual frustration on Andrew's part i.e. the action reminds him of his needs but he doesn't desire to do it with Ashley BUT her constant insinuations make him uncomfy at being interpreted that way. Besides, will that vision necessarily come true ? Who knows. Andrew's terrified reaction and him asking 'We're not like that, right?' could be him simply wanting to avoid this shit out of disgust and hoping Ashley doesn't harbour such intentions towards him. Ashley teasing him about the vision and her innuendos throughout the episodes is uncomfortable though.
Even so, I agree that some of Andrew's statements and actions can definitely be interpreted as sus. It's possible that he has such feelings for her.
What about Ashley ? Well, she has NO shame in teasing her brother with such remarks. I was enlightened by the explanation offered by others on Youtube, Youtube comments etc that she's a weirdly, unapologetically precocious sociopath who DEFINITELY MAY resort to incest to keep Andrew as her emotional crutch if she doesn't give up her abandonment complex and keeps believing he'll leave her eventually because he dislikes her. It depends on the route you choose. If she learns to TRULY accept his independence, thus gaining his affection and a stronger bond with him, she's no longer insecure and doesn't have to seduce him ('Burial' route 1). Then their relationship remains platonic. If she continues to be insecure and fearful, but in a childish way towards his 'Andy' persona ('Decay' route), she may opt to fuck him to tether him to her but imo that's less likely because her attachment is childish. In 'Burial' route 2 though, though she learns to respect his wishes, she doesn't give up her dogged possessiveness. It's like she grows to like the 'Andrew' persona but this time, the liking is romantic not platonic. She's still not willing to NOT be the one and only in all aspects.
So what is my view on this aspect of the game ? In real life, such a possibly incestuous dynamic would make me super uncomfy. But in fiction, things don't feel 'real' to me. Unlike others, I have empathy for the platonic side of Ashley's abandonment complex because I, too, used to be deathly scared of being hated and abandoned permanently by my sister who was my emotional crutch. I, too, am a fucked up person (not in the same way as Ashley though) who's really hurt my sister and sometimes been really hurt by her. So I understand where she's coming from, though her actions towards Andy's dates are far too cruel and her possible openness to incest way too squicky. I applaud the game for exploring abandonment issues and the pain and resentment one feels when your pillar of support likes their friends' company more than yours.
While the incest route is yucky, I think in fiction, it can be interesting to explore. That ending comes into being through the sheer force of Ashley's desperation + stubbornness + lack of remorse over doing squicky things, AND Andrew's submissiveness + possessive attachment fostered by their circumstances. It's morbid and fascinating. It's the culmination of the worst aspects of codependence, spinelessness, ruthlessness and amorality. If you see fictional narratives as fictional and not as real, you are capable of recognising how fun it is to dissect and analyse this trainwreck. This game is SHAMELESSLY true to its gothic core, and that's a good thing for people who like exploring fucked up human psyches and situations as detached, impartial observers.
Both Andrew and Ashley are very interesting characters. Forgive me, but I think that the people who say 'I'm rooting for the protags to die cuz they're awful criminals' are either performative people - pleasers or simply too understandably sensitive to handle such topics. That's okay, I understand the need to be socially accepted, I used to be a performative people - pleaser to the EXTREME myself as a teen.
Well, what about the cannibalism ? Here, some of you have to face the reality - cannibalism has happened MANY, MANY times throughout history everywhere in the world. It isn't restricted to a bunch of cultures / regions that people like to demonise as a depraved, subhuman 'other'. Western and Eastern Europe, East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa; and in all civilisations. It's the expected outcome of extreme starvation. Most people have the innate urge to survive, except those who are suicidal somewhere deep down. You may say 'oh but even if I were dying from starvation, I wOulD NeVEr, ThaTs eVil 111 !!!' - no. Have you ever even experienced extreme starvation ? Did you know that even in many suicide cases too, the person's fear of death kicks in at some point, usually too late, leaving them to struggle in vain to live ? If you ever were dying of starvation, you seriously wouldn't even eat someone already dead ? Stop deluding yourself. Unless you're in the suicidal / suicidally idealistic 1%, you'd definitely do it too. I'm not in that 1% either.
The cannibalism was justified in Episode 1, but not in Episode 2 - that was too much, I'm sure there are other, better ways of disposing of the remains. So why did they do it ? Was it as a final 'fuck you' to their parents' memory? Maybe.
Welp, that's my take, and it's much more realistic than that of the reactionaries.
So yeah. Andrew and Ashley are both depraved and intriguing. The plot was entertaining. That's it. If you wanna play it, mind the trigger warnings because this game pulls no punches.

Felicity murdered her own mother. It was what she’d been trained for, the whole point of her existence (according to the angels), but that wasn’t actually why she did it. It was at the lowest, darkest point of her life, shortly after she’d killed Uriah and run from Heaven. She was traumatized and devastated, and as far as she was concerned, it was all her mother’s fault. It was a very one-sided fight, because Felicity had rage and grief and centuries of training on her side, and Snow. . . well, no mother wants to hurt her child. She tried to talk Felicity down, to offer to help her with whatever had happened, but Felicity heard none of it. It was the first time Felicity was able to use her more “active” abilities intentionally, without her life being in immediate danger; it was all purely fueled by her rage rather than her fear. In her mother’s last moments, the one thing that made it through, Snow said one thing. “It’s alright, my love.” That forgiveness, ironically, was the thing that calmed Felicity down, but it was too late. Rage was quickly replaced by horror and grief, and it took Felicity years to move on from what she’d done.

Evan coughed and sputtered as she tried desperately to catch her breath. She held her shaking hands to her bruised throat, knowing she had her handprints marked her skin. She hadn't meant for this, for any of this to happen. All she'd been trying to do was live her life in peace, be the best person she could be... She didn't deserve it. She'd never deserved anything that woman had done to her.
Should she feel bad? Staring at the body on top of her, the neck twisted around itself, she tried to feel anything but relief. When she couldn't muster anything else up, tears began to fall from her eyes and she pushed the lifeless form of her mother off of her. She could finally rest. She didn't have to have escape plans in place, didn't have to run anymore.
"All you had to do was let me live," she got out, her voice raspy and raw from her previous screaming and having been choked. Getting to her feet on rubbery legs, she limped her way out of the warehouse, bruised and bloody, but still alive.
And that was what carried her. She was still alive, and whatever that meant, now, she would take it.

Millennium headcanons: Their parents and life growing up
Since yes I do have thoughts on that tw for multiple counts of unhealthy to abusive parenting, patricide and matricide, fratricide and talk of nazism (without endorsement)
The major: Inspired by his Coyote backstory but not so similiar. Was raised by his mother, who was part of the early national socialist political scene, before it rose to power. Unfortunately, she died when he was around 12 years old. Max was taken under the wing of one of his mom's "friends" from the political circle, but wasn't particularly close to him. His closeness to the "higher-ups" of the nazis would fortunately grant him some privileges later on in life.
The doctor: Was raised as the only child of a middle class family. His parents were people driven purely by logic and void of emotion, which led to them verbally and occassionally physically abusing him under the guise of "motivating him". This greatly impacted Av's mental state, and his own parenting style later on. He would eventually be unable to take it and would sign up to fight in the first world war, still as a teenager, just to get away from them.
The captain: Grew up in a small village, circa the middle ages. I imagine his childhood was more or less normal and happy. He was the oldest of many siblings, and to this day sees some of them in Schrodinger. When he was of age, he left home to pursue finding a job. He still misses his family, and hopes they lived an easier life than him.
Rip Van Winkle: Was the youngest of three sisters (inspired by a fairytale trope). I headcanon her family is descended or related to a knight bloodline, and was quite wealthy. Not aristocratic but definitely upper-class. Because she took after her father way more than her sisters, she was daddy's girl, but her relationship with her mother was more difficult, especially as puberty settled in. She also had a turbulent relationship with her sisters, because they sided more with her mother and viewed her as the "rebellious, delusional airhead" of the family. Her ultimate "rebellion" would be when her father helped her secure a job as an SS officer.
Zorin Blitz: Was abducted as a baby by a witch. The witch would call herself Zorin's mother, and would raise her as her apprentice, along with several other girls in a middle of nowhere rural area. Her environment growing up would be extremely "kill or be killed" and she would watch her "sisters", those who weren't strong enough to keep up, die one by one. She realized that eventually, it would only be one of them who would survive, and she would have to make sure it would be her. So she started strenghtening herself, deceiving, lying to the others, pitting them against each other, and killing them off herself until she stood alone. She killed her "mother", freeing herself from her control, and went to pursue something better.
Schrodinger: Was created in a test tube, as the ultimate weapon against Alucard (haha get it. hellsing ultimate). In his younger years, he was isolated from the rest of Millennium, even kept as a secret to most, and raised primarily by Dok. When he was eventually let around the other members of Mill was coincidentally around the time his "unruly" phase kicked in, which sent Dok spiralling and essentially flip-flop between blaming himself and blaming everyone else for "corrupting" him, when all it essentially was was a normal phase for a child. Schro never had friends his age, only adults, so he would have a hard time communicating to other teenagers, I imagine.
Tubalcain Alhambra: If there's one thing I'm clueless about it's the state of Brazil circa the first half of the 20th century. But I like to think he was born into some-semi influential family (perhaps one who owned establishments like hotels, casinos, etc.), and grew up a socialite. Maybe he's not even brazilian by origin, his name sounds more middle eastern than anything to me, maybe he just happens to reside there. He probably has the skills resources to control the government and the media at least to some level. Probably to the level that they don't care about his family housing literal nazi refugees on their property. Yes that is my headcanon. Tubalcain was Millennium's landlord and you won't convince me otherwise.
The Valentine Brothers: They aren't biological brothers, but their parents were both single with a kid and got together, so they're step-siblings (valentinecest still sucks stfu). Both of their parents were absolutely terrible, terrible enough for the brothers to set their house on fire when Luke was 18 and Jan was 15, to make the authorities think they died along with their parents, and go pursue a life of crime instead.

“Boy! Get in here now!”
Whenever Anthony called him into the kitchen, it was never good news.
It meant that his father had something that needed to be done, and Yancy knows well enough by now that it wasn’t to mow the lawn or take out the trash. No, this would involve the family business and a particular task that the old fuck decided to torture his son with this week. Another reason why it was always the kitchen, he soon found out; refusal meant that any number of knives and meat cleavers could be used against him like a fucking thanksgiving turkey.
Yancy strides in, steel in his spine, and barely concealed hatred in his eyes. Showing anything else could make Anthony snap like an old rubber band. He grins sadistically from where he sits at the kitchen table. His mother stands at his side, and she could have been beautiful if she didn’t have the same dead look in her eyes as her husband.
“Sit.” Anthony points at the other end of the table like he’s commanding a dog. Yancy complies, if only it means that he can be given the job and get away from them as soon as possible. “Big changes are comin’ for our operations, boy. And since you haven’t been completely useless lately, I’m givin’ you an opportunity to prove yourself.”
Lucky me. It takes Herculean effort to keep the words to himself, and Yancy only nods in response. But it doesn’t stop goosebumps from breaking out over his body, dread sinking to the deepest pits of his stomach. Something’s off. He’s seen many sides of his father, all of them dark and sadistic. Right now, he’s… giddy. Manic. Somehow, it’s more terrifying.
“Tomorrow night, you and a group of guys are goin’ to the fair that’s comin’ to the next town over.”
Yancy blinks, dumbfounded. Of all the jobs he’s done, he’s never been ordered to attend a fair. What, are they going to fucking rob it? Wouldn’t it be crowded? “This yer way of givin’ me a night off or somethin’?” It’s out before he can stop it, and he manages not to flinch.
Anthony’s fist flexes so tightly that Yancy wouldn’t be surprised if the gaudy gold rings snapped in half and flew across the room. “You’re lucky I’m in such a good fuckin’ mood, Junior. I’ll tell you what you’re goin’ there for…”
What his father proceeds to tell him only proves just how much of a monster he truly is.
“You’re gonna use that pretty face and smart mouth of yours to charm some lovely little flowers into coming with you and the others.” He pauses, grinning when he sees that Yancy still doesn’t get it. “Or, get them outta sight and use force if you have to. You’ll be given parameters to follow for looks and whatnot because certain things will be worth more money when we sell them to the highest bidder.”
When… what?
All the air leaves Yancy’s lungs like he’s been holding it in for hours. The look of utter horror on his face must please the older man greatly if his sickening chuckle is anything to go by. He could handle breaking and entering, he could handle fighting and fuck he’s even killed a few people at this point, but this? Sweat beads along his hairline and he can feel what he had for dinner threatening to make a reappearance.
Selling people. The demon sitting across from him wants to start fucking selling people. Innocent people. The microscopic solace he could ever hide in is that most of the people he’s hurt we’re just as bad as he is.
“I don’t…” Yancy’s voice is cracked, no moisture remaining in his mouth as he swallows hard and tries again. “You want me to kidnap innocent women so we can sell them off.” It's less of a question and more of a reaffirming statement about the nightmare he’s found himself in.
“Yeah. Well, women, to start with… I hear kids are even more valuable.” He glosses over that addition quickly while Yancy has to try not to gag. “And hey, that sissy actin’ shit of yours from high school will come in handy, too. You may just be more useful to me after all.” Wouldn’t be dear old dad if he couldn’t get in some kind of jab about his extracurriculars. Now that Yancy is barely nineteen, the old fuck is ecstatic that those distractions are no more.
Everything tunnels into this one moment. His stomach drops like he’s on the edge of a precipice and desperately trying to decide if he’s going to fall into the murky depths, or to his hands and knees so he can claw his way to some kind of less fucked reality. He’s done everything they’ve asked of him up to this point, even if he felt a bit of his soul die each time until all that was left resembled a wisp of smoke after a candle was blown out.
He wouldn’t let them take it from him.
“No.” He answers firmly as he stares directly into the black void of Anthony’s eyes. The look on Yancy’s face must give him pause because he sees the flash of genuine concern before it's snuffed out by rage. It pleases him.
“What the fuck did you just say?”
“I. Said. No.” Yancy forces out again, his own anger and fear mixing into something that has his entire body trembling.
For a split second, everything slows down before quickly being kicked into hyperspeed, and the table between them is suddenly being tossed to the side like it’s made out of cardboard. Yancy barely has time to get to his feet before he can feel the calloused hands of his father wrap around his neck and squeeze. Fat fuck was always faster than he looks.
“Don’t hit him in the face, Tony!” His mother calls out shrilly. Ice invades his heart when he immediately knows she isn’t concerned with his safety, but the worry that any bruises or cuts on his ‘pretty face’ would make luring innocent victims more difficult.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Anthony spits through clenched teeth as his grip tightens. “I’ve had just about enough of your fucking bullshit, Junior. Just when it looked like you were gonna actually fall in line… maybe I should sell you to a new master, huh? You’d probably fucking love that.”
Yancy gasps for air as he claws at Anthony’s arms. Past experience tells him that fighting back only resulted in the beatings being worse, to the point where he would have to spend days in his room to recuperate. The only advantage this monster has is expecting him to yield to avoid that punishment.
Not this fucking time.
Something snaps inside of him, the last frayed end of his rope finally giving out completely, and with all the might he can muster, Yancy raises his boot and aims a kick directly to his assailant's knee. Roaring with pain and anger, he releases his neck and drops to the floor on his other knee, only for Yancy to kick him square in the chest to knock him down.
His heart is pounding, ribs straining to stop it from bursting out of his chest and onto the ugly linoleum floor, and he grabs the first thing he sees. A butcher's knife sticks out of the knife block. Backing away, eyes crazed like a cornered animal as he looks between them and holds the knife out in front of him.
His mother has sprung into action, her focus being on her husband writhing in agony on the ground. Yancy has reached his full height by now, and he’s in better shape than the older man by a long shot. He’s never fought back with full force until this very moment, whatever restraint he possessed before being torn away. Yancy would be grinning like a maniac if he wasn’t trying to focus past the blood rushing between his ears.
Years of abuse and ridicule fuel him, unlocking the cage to the beast that resides deep inside of him. It’s been beaten and prodded through the bars long enough, and now it wants blood. The hand holding the knife is shaking, but not from fear. Not anymore. “Fuckin’ monsters… you think I would help you start somethin’ like that?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” Even though there is a lack of fear, his voice still trembles as he mourns what he never had.
A childhood… a normal childhood with parents that loved him. Something they would so easily rob from others just for a fucking payday.
The answer he’s met with is laughter. Deep and hollow, echoing straight from the pits of hell itself. And his father just stares at him. “Who says it hasn’t already started?” He responds coldly.
It feels like the floor drops out from under him, but somehow, he manages to keep his footing. That sentence reverberates inside of his skull, and an icy chill cascades down his body. He wasn’t the only beast in the room, and the realization of what he has to do hits him like a freight train. It would never stop. He could escape from them and live on the run, using everything he’s learned to try and piece together a life outside of them.
But then what? They keep hurting people who don’t deserve it. They get worse. He could pray to whatever exists that their enemies would stack against them and kill them off.
Yancy wasn’t good; his family made sure of that. But a deep part of him thrived in the violence, and whether that's because his parents beat that into him or he was cursed from the moment he was born, it didn’t matter. He has his own set of fucked morals, and with the next several decisions he makes… he would have to come to terms with that.
This time, when he stares at Anthony Berlusconi Sr., the concern doesn’t melt away in an instant. Because he’s staring into another set of dead eyes that only show him his doom.
Yancy’s legs slowly carry him forward, and it feels like he isn’t even in control of them. Like the Devil himself has a grip on his shoulders, guiding him to the greatest purpose he can have. And before the monster he’s set to vanquish can utter another word, his arm is slashing out and slicing his throat open. The blood that splatters on his arms is lava against skin gone cold, but it only fuels him as Anthony clutches at his own neck.
His mother screams. She may even beg, but the roaring in his head blocks it out as he repeats the motion once more, crimson splattering against the cabinets. He should feel something, shouldn’t he? It’s like a dream, hazy around the edges and tunneled onto their panicked bodies. Watching his parents bleed out on the floor, desperately searching their expressions in their last moment for something he’s not even sure of.
Then… he knows why he doesn’t feel a damn thing. There’s no remorse for what they’ve done to him, the pain and agony they’ve caused him and others. No regret for what they chose to do with their lives. Only shock and anger that this is how they are going out flickers in their eyes. All at the hands of a son they never wanted for anything other than carrying on their brutal legacy.
By the time his vision comes back to him from the murky darkness, the bodies have been cleaved and cut until they are unrecognizable, and his throat feels like he ate sandpaper. Raw from screaming. He can’t… be here anymore. He has to move, fucking move, Yance. He searches Anthony’s body for his cell phone, surprised that it managed not to get split into pieces. Fingers slide against the device, too wet with blood to type anything.
He has to leave. Now.
He takes the cleaver and phone and leaves everything else behind. This was the house he grew up in, but it wasn't the only place that belonged to the family.
Personal belongings didn't matter to him now; everything inside is tainted just as surely as the kitchen is coated in the blood of his parents. What better way to cleanse it than with fire?
He finds a canister of gasoline in the garage and douses everything he sees as he enters the house for the last time, paying special attention to the kitchen. When he gets to the car, he's lighting a cigarette and doesn't even hesitate to toss the match onto the accelerant on the cement floor.
And as he speeds off in his car and watches the flames begin to grow in his rear view mirror, he stares at the man looking back at him. No more mourning what he never had, no more living in fear. His path would be forged in blood and fealty. If he couldn't vanquish the entirety of the evil, then it would bend to his fucking will.
Staring up at the massive building that is the main base of their operations, he knows the night is just beginning.

I have to work more on Verdena as a stand-alone character and not what her environment makes of her, so I might be back to this post with more data!
She's still the result of a prohibited couple. Still destined to be a murderer.
key differences so far are:
-Perla would give Verdena more freedom and room to grow. Verdena would have more friends. With Pucci, theres already people to keep her attention- Theres Dio, theres the Brandos, there's Papa Enrico's incesant watching over anything involving her. -She wouldn't feel the unspoken pressure to be lady-like, smart, to be someone of importance in the future. -Perla would delude herself and ignore all of Verdena's red flags 👍 she would hide them from Enrico & her family. -When Verdena ends up murdering someone, Perla would be distraught. (tw: suicide ) I'm toying with the idea of her crying, feeling guilty, a failure as a parent and saying sorry, over over and over again, as she proceeds to end her life, ashamed of being a coward and abandoning her daughter when it matters the most. but idk, perhaps adult Perla is stronger than i believe. -Theres no matricide in this AU, as the circumstances don't lead to it.

I the small village of Grimm's Hollow, villagers used to live prosperous lives. Until their most precious possession, given by the mysterious Forest Grimm, the Book of Fortune, a strange oracle with the power to grant one wish to every villager after they turned 16, was taken back by that same forest after one villager used the book for a nefarious wish.
Soon after, villagers start disappearing in the Forest Grimm never to be seen again; they are called the Lost. And no one can go and look for them to bring them back because the trees of the forest themselves will stop any attempt at passing the treeline.
Three years later, Clara, the daughter of the first Lost, is still determined to find a way into the forest and reclaim her mother.

Honestly I had a hard time getting in the book at first, despite being intrigued. The second half was way better. In the end I wanted more, that is, the second book, which is not out yet unfortunately. Though the author actually give us a good enough final to not feel dissatisfied and the end of this first tome. But the epilogue is intriguing and set the foundation for the plot of the next book.
It's an overall good read. I genuinely enjoy this story, despite my aversion to love triangle, though I have to admit that as far love triangles go, this one wasn't completely unpleasant and actually made sense.
The plot itself had a few twists I should have seen coming in insight, some that I've partially seen coming, and some that just plain caught me totally by surprise.
The world building is set mostly on the Grimm fairytales, but twisted, cutted in pieces and used as the author please. The result is quite fascinating, It is actually fun to look for the clues of which characters is from which tale. Sometimes it's not what you'd expect. Sometimes the original fairytale is twisted beyond recognition.
This was a good debut! Worth your time.

Note about the fairyloot edition: it's really gorgeous.
The dust jacket design is fairly close of the original except for the background that went from white to a beautiful green. The dust jacket is reversible and the other side is absolutely gorgeous with the main characters all depicted on it.
The naked book it also sublime and is a rendition of the book from the story, "Sortes Fortunae" (the book of Fortune), with foil on the hardcover.
The end pages show Clara and Axel.
And the sprayed edge is beautiful, with it's depiction of Clara in her red cape near the black wolf with the forest in the background.
This is an overall gorgeous edition. I just would have like a real binding, and not the sheets just glued together. It makes the book really fragile. I was scared several times to damage the book while reading. Not the best experience.
Though I'm really hoping that fairyloot will publish the second tome too. I definitely want the whole set.

It was a cloudy morning in the Riverbed Town, a cloudy morning with chill winds accompanying it, in fact. Weather like this would deter just about anyone else from going out at early hours to fish at the river of which the town was named after, but it didn't deter Miss Lillian Yasmin and her grandchildren, that's for sure.
"Why do I have to carry the bait box, grammy…?" Tsumiko, the younger of the two grandchildren, asked.
"Because you were the one that scouted for the fishing spot last time, remember?" Lillian told him, to which Tsumiko huffed.
"Don't get pouty now, you know that those are the rules. We all take our turns with the roles." Musttsuko, the older one of the two, reminded his younger brother.
"I knowwwww… It's just… heavy…!" Tsumiko continued to complain.
"Alright, alright. You two set the supplies down here for now while I go find us a fishing spot. We wouldn't want your tiny arms to get all sore now, would we?" Lillian suggested.
"Yay!! Thank you grammy!!" Tsumiko cheered, dropping the bait box he had been carrying onto the sandy ground below.
"Careful-!" Musttsuko snapped, flinching at the sound of the box hitting the ground.
"Oopsie!" Tsumiko said simply, causing Musttsuko to groan.
Lillian heeded her two grandchildren no mind as she carried on with her journey. Looking along the river for any fish ready to be caught rather than the path ahead of her, Lillian soon had ventured beyond what part of the river's shore was usually populated, and into the area beyond the town's borders. It was there that she saw him, a young man who appeared to be a few years older than Musttsuko, sitting on the shore. A fellow ambitious fisher, perhaps?
But as Lillian came closer to the man, she noticed that he was not equipped with any fishing gear, nor even a chair to sit on! He was simply sitting in the sandy ground itself, staring into the river, his body… shaking? Now Lillian was really concerned. She had not the slightest idea as to what could have happened to the man, but she wanted to help him.
"Oh goodness! I don't think I've ever seen you here before! Are you perhaps lost, young man..?" She asked, not knowing what else to say.
The man began to utter a few strained sounds from his mouth, as if he was attempting to speak, but couldn't. Lillian, more concerned than ever, reached out to the man to try to comfort him, to which he tugged on her arm, using it to help pull himself up from his seated position.
"I… I… I am… lost…" He uttered, his voice sounding very rough.
"You're in the unoccupied part of the Black River shore, if you walk down that ways, you'll be in the Riverbed Town." Lillian explained.
"Is this… PetalBloom…?" The man then asked.
"You ask as if you're not from PetalBloom yourself…? But yes, this is indeed PetalBloom." Lillian answered with a slight chuckle.
"I am not, actually." The man said bluntly.
"Pardon?"
"I came here from the Pantheon's Plane… To help one of the mortals here with their woes… I know it sounds absurd… but-"
"I don't think that sounds absurd at all!" Lillian assured, interrupting the man's explanation.
"... Really…?" The man responded, surprised.
"Certainly! With how overly dependent most of our world seems to be on Mrs Moonshine, the thought of making contact with another deity is not at all an odd one." Lillian began. "But I just ask, since I brought her up… Are you friends with the moon goddess, by chance?" She then inquired, eyes narrowing.
"Most certainly not… I am just about as opposite of the concept of a "friend" to her as one could get..." The man answered.
"Ah, wonderful! In that case, my name is Lillian Yasmin, and I welcome you to PetalBloom with open arms!"
"Lillian Yasmin… I have heard your name before, in the prayer that motivated me to come to this planet…" The man revealed, beginning to travel in the direction towards the Riverbed Town.
"Is that so? Was I the only one mentioned in said prayer?" Lillian questioned.
"No… There were five names mentioned in total, including yours… You, Musttsuko and Tsumiko Yasmin, Vladmira Waning, and Sendrir Rojo… All very well kept within the heart of the person who sent out the prayer… But all in turmoil, as well… Suffering because of the structure of this planet's society…" The man answered.
"Then that means-" Lillian had begun to reply, before being suddenly interrupted.
"Grandmother!!" Musttsuko yelled out as he raced towards Lillian.
"Musttsuko, is there something wrong?" Lillian asked, concerned.
"Mutty got worried about you since you were gone for so long!" Tsumiko explained, to the dismay of Musttsuko.
"Th-that's not true!! I just got impatient!!" Musttsuko pouted.
"Heheheh… I am sorry for making you two worry. I got a bit distracted, as you can probably see." Lillian explained, gesturing towards the man, who was standing right beside her.
"Who's that?" Tsumiko asked.
"Well, believe it or not, this young man right here is a deity that has come to help us show the world how to embrace chaos!" Lillian answered, the man nodding.
"Wow, really?!" Tsumiko questioned further, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"A deity… that is willing to help us dismantle the grip Moonshine has on our world…?" Musttsuko murmured in disbelief.
"Indeed… Because my story is much like the ones you all carry…" The man began to respond. "A creation of Moonshine's, made of chaos but meant to suppress it… treated as lesser for embracing what made me as I am…" He continued. "I am sure that if I had never come into my own… I would have been made to assist in eliminating the chaos energy from this world, no doubt… The Lord of Chaos... A tool to aid in her design…" He paused for a moment. "But that is not who I am… Not anymore… I come to you, not as that old version of myself, to "cure" you of your chaos… But as the me that exists now… Black Doom… to free you from Moonshine's control…"
"Well we are quite happy to meet you, Black Doom!" Lillian said.
"Yayayaya!" Tsumiko cheered.
"Yes… But… erm… Not to be disrespectful, but what if Moonshine finds out about this? Surely she is looking for you…" Musttsuko hesitantly questioned.
"Heh… Worry not, I have already dealt with such things… To put it simply, Moonshine is no more…" Doom explained.
"I… I beg your pardon…?" Musttsuko uttered in shock.
"She is gone…" Doom reiterated. "Surely this is good news to you, no…?"
"Y-yes!! Very much so!! I just- I-I was-" Musttsuko stammered. Despite his insistence over the years that he was the greatest being to ever live, Musttsuko couldn't help but see Black Doom as something even greater than he, and this surely wasn't going unnoticed by Lillian and Tsumiko, who he certainly felt were staring at him in this moment, even if he had no evidence of such.
"Surprised…? I really do not blame you…" Doom surmised, looking amused.
"Alright, why don't we introduce ourselves to Doom now, you two?" Lillian suggested, seeing that the current topic had run its course.
"Okay!! My name is Tsumiko! Tsumiko Yasmin! I'm this many plus two years old!" Tsumiko said, holding all six of his fingers up. With the added two that he mentioned, that meant he was eight years old.
"Ah, what an honorable sight… A young child so in tune with their own chaos… It is very nice to meet you, Tsumiko." Doom responded, giving Tsumiko a pat on the head.
"My name is… Musttsuko Yasmin the Second." Musttsuko spoke, seemingly hesitating before doing so. He began to bow before Doom, but Doom stopped him.
"Please, no need for such formality… I may not be a mortal like you all are… But in my mind, we are still equals…"
"R-Right, of course!!" Musttsuko said as he quickly put himself upright.
"Wonderful, now we all know one another." Lillian cheerfully noted.
"Indeed… But there are still more people that I am in search of…" Doom announced.
"Is that so? Who else are you looking for?" Musttsuko asked.
"Is it the rest of our friends?" Tsumiko wondered.
"Oh, right! Why yes, it is!" Lillian answered, remembering what Doom had said to her earlier. "Vladmira insisted on staying in the town hotel last night, so I imagine he will be trying to look for us soon enough." She figured.
"Oh! Do you think he'll get Chary on the way here?" Tsumiko suggested.
"... Maybe." Musttsuko replied, rolling his eyes. "As for Sendrir, we will most likely have to go to her after we make a plan of attack."
"Plan of attack?" Lillian questioned.
"For dismantling the order that Moonshine has created?" Musttsuko argued.
"Oh, I see."
"Musttsuko is right… I remember hearing in the prayer that Miss Rojo is essentially under unlawful house arrest by her father…" Doom said, trying to redirect the conversation - only for it to be diverted again.
"The prayer?" Musttsuko asked.
"It was what informed me of the plight you all are in… Someone from this planet sent it out as a cry for help, and I was the one to receive it…" Doom explained.
"I see… How interesting…"
"Musttsuko, how about you go back out to the part of the shore that is within the town borders and direct Vladmira and Charveya here?" Lillian suggested.
"Of course." Musttsuko agreed, already beginning to take off towards the town.
"Grammy, Mutty and I left the fishing supplies at where you told us to wait at so we could find you better." Tsumiko informed Lillian.
"Is that so? I'm sure we can get them back to the house once Musttsuko returns with Vladmira and Charveya." Lillian responded.
"Oh, allow me..! If you give me the coordinates of your home once we approach these supplies you speak of, I believe I could probably use Chaos Control to warp them there in no time at all…!" Doom offered.
"Chaos Control?" Lillian inquired.
"What's that?? Sounds really cool!!" Tsumiko asked.
"A chaos energy based ritual to warp a person or object's position in reality…" Doom answered. "Many believe that such things can only be done by deities like myself… But… Well, I have a bit of a hypothesis, actually…" He then continued. "I believe that perhaps if a mortal were to truly become in touch with their inner chaos, to truly understand it… that perhaps you will prove to not be so different from the likes of I… That you too can do such things, if you really set your mind to it…"
Lillian and Tsumiko didn't know how to respond, captivated by the words of wisdom that seeped through Doom's little monologue.
"But until the day in which we prove whether or not that is true… I am perfectly willing to do such things for you…" Doom concluded.
"Thank you, truly…" Lillian said in awe.
"Well, what're we waiting for?! Let's go Chaos Control some fish supplies!! Yayaya!!!" Tsumiko commanded, rushing up ahead.
"Yes, let's…" Doom kindly agreed, him and Lillian following behind Tsumiko.

(TW for canonical child abuse.) The Yuumori anime had such weird censorship of the manga?
This child can be forced to stab himself through the hand with a fork, but we won’t show him being whipped by an adult.
These kids can stab another kid and then blow up a house with multiple people in it including the parental couple, but we draw the line at hands on matricide.
