Story time sleeping beauty plot twist

Maleficent fell in love with sleeping beauty and put her under the sleeping curse because she wanted to find a way to make Aurora live as long as her. So Aurora slept in a thorn castle for a hundred years while Maleficent looked for a spell to get them their happy ending.

But some stupid prince found sleeping beauty before Maleficent could put the spell together and it was broken into pieces and hidden away. The sleeping spell caused Aurora to forget Maleficent and there love. Maleficent's spell was lost and she died by the princes hand without Aurora ever knowing the truth. The true story was later taken and rewritten to make it favor the great witch of thorns.

But one fae never forgot the true story and found a piece of her spell. He used it on his wife but instead of making her live as long as a fae it made her continuously reincarnate with no memory of her previous lives only small cases of deja vu.

Had the urge to make my own Ramshackle dorm uniform, so here’s a sneak peek at my dorm leader design! (My watermark is added just as a safety precaution)

Note: this is still in the sketch phase so it may change by the time I finish the sprite

Since Yuu/MC kind of acts as a detective in many of the books I started my search for references by looking into Victorian style detective outfits (I just like the look of Victorian clothes lol). My search kind of turned into looking into Ouji fashion because I loved the ruffles and flowy coats. I’ve seen a lot of ramshackle dorm uniform concepts that have a more blue/purple color pallet, but I thought using the dorms lounge palette could be cool. We’ll see how it turns out lol. I am thinking on adding in a teal or aquamarine colour in as a little accent; perhaps in the ribbons or on some of the patches.

I’m planning to come up with a dorm leader and dorm student design; Yuri will be modeling both. I’m thinking on having the students uniform included tighter pants with less pronounced ruffles and perhaps omitting the ruffles on the sleeves. I’m also planning on switching out the long detective coat for something more similar to the cloaks that the dorm ghosts wear. Grimm would have just the little cloak and maybe a little hat if he would be willing to wear it.

I will update again once I have the designs finished!

Ramshackle Dorm Uniform designs

I finished my Ramshackle dorm uniform designs! I explained a little bit of my thoughts in this post, but here’s a little more information. I originally imagined that the dorm uniform was made by Yuri, either by collecting other pieces of clothing or making it entirely by hand in their free time, so the “leader” and “student” uniforms are relatively similar. Then I thought it would be kinda funny if Stella made their dorm uniforms for like no other reason than she wanted to.

Dorm Leader Uniform

I mentioned in my sketch post that I was inspired by Victorian detective outfits as well as Ouji fashion

The idea for the dorm leader uniform is that it looks a lot nicer/decorated; there are big ruffles on the sleeves and pants, the pants have wider legs, and there’s the inclusion of the vest and leather arm band pieces.

The tie is also a little more simple because I referenced Grimm’s bow in the student uniform

The dorm leaders uniform includes nice heeled boots and a cloak that references more of that classical detective cloak.

I added patches to the cloak as a way to tie in both my concepts of Yuri making the uniforms and Yuri being gifted the uniforms by Stella.

The cloaks are made by Yuri using old curtains hence the patch work. the rest of the outfit is made by Stella and gifted to Yuri.

The hats and cloaks were inspired by the ones worn by the dorm ghosts (more so in the student uniforms than the dorm leader) as a nice little call back.

Student Uniform

The big thing I wanted to do with the student uniform was reference the dorm ghosts a little more obviously

The cloak is the same as the ghosts (minus the little string bow) and the hat is the same for both uniforms

The colour palette is also the same between uniforms

The big bow was a call back to Grimm’s bow as it could be argued that since Yuu/the MC is the dorms prefect, Grimm would be considered the “student”

For this inform I wanted something a bit more relaxed (in terms of what my references were); there’s no vest for the students or extra shirt accessories. The ruffles are omitted from the shirt and are less pronounced on the pants. Likewise, the pants are a bit more straight lines than the wide cut pants in the dorm leader version

The cloak is also shorter and in one piece, compared to the longer, swallow tailed style cloak the form leader wears.

The students are also given heeled shoes that are a little more reminiscent of the style Riddle wears with his school uniform

I imagine the students would have the option of wearing flats if they needed (they would be the same style as the heels), I just didn’t want to made another shoe layer 😅

I imagine Grimm would also have a little cloak and hat so he’s also got a dorm “uniform” 🤧

I would be curious about Yuri opinion on Carol if you don't mind^^

I don't mind at all! I read through all of Carol's info and story posts you have up but please correct me if I get anything about her wrong.

I think that at first, Yuri would be a little suspicious of Carol simply given the situation they have found themself in. However, Yuri is a rather open-minded and friendly person on a good day so I think that the suspicion starts to die down once the initial shock of being dragged into a different world starts to die down. I think Yuri would also find comfort in the fact that they aren't alone in this. Even though Carol's manner of getting to Twisted Wonderland is different, they both are in a similar situation so Yuri wouldn't feel quite so alone.

From what I was reading, Carol seems to have a sarcastic/smug side which I think would help her and Yuri get along. Yuri is quite cheeky and blunt in their own right, especially when others are annoying, so I can only imagine the kind of emotional damage these two could dish out if they both decided to be smug to someone. I think Grimm would hate having two smug henchmen because I can see him getting teased a lot.

I also think that Yuri would really appreciate Carol's help and support throughout their time together. I think they would especially appreciate Carol's talent for tutoring not only because it would help Yuri, but also because Yuri isn't stuck trying to help Ace and Deuce study subjects Yuri has no knowledge of in general. Overall, Yuri is very appreciative of Carol.

You mentioned in one part that there was a path where Carol might transfer to Daisomnia. I think that while Yuri would be saddened to lose a dormmate and friend, I also think that Yuri would be understanding of Carol's choice and wouldn't try to push her to stay at Ramshackle. At the very least, Yuri knows that in this situation Carol isn't leaving NRC so if they need her help, Yuri can still reach her.

I think that overall, Yuri would like Carol and would see her as a friend and ally during their time at NRC. Yuri would also find it comforting/refreshing to have at least one person from their world that they could confide in.

That got a bit longer than I thought lol. This was actually a really fun thing to type, I love the idea of having a support character that's in a similar situation to the MC. I think Carol is super cool! Please let me know if I got anything wrong or mixed up regarding Carol and I can edit it as needed!
