Honestly, Blazblue is completely criticizable as a piece of media. There’s a lot to talk about, story wise or character wise or even just sexism and misogyny generally. The issue is that everytime it gets brought up on Twitter, it becomes really quickly clear that the people talking about it don’t actually have the knowledge base to talk about it. It feels very silly

Using this tweet as an example but quite a few people have been saying stuff along these lines, this completely misrepresents the after the fight and makes Sunny out to be weirdly violent. So here is a summary for clarity sakes:

Sunny gets her totem popped by Leo and starts walking away, turning to exit. Leo instantly chases after Sunny once they back away, hitting her by the exit. Sunny gets knocked away from the exit and continuously gets hit by Leo, originally not defending herself (probably shocked) but then starts hitting back. Sunny gets a hit on Leo and knocks her away, then hits her again into the corner popping Leo’s totem. Unlike Leo earlier Sunny turns to leave, without trying to hit her at all after the totem pop (some people said she kept hitting till Leo almost died this is not true). Ramon enters during this, and moves between Sunny and Leo. Leo dances in the corner once Ramon blocks any path back to Sunny.

Recent twitter discourse on choice feminism/liberal feminism has made me realize that choice feminism is popular because it asks nothing of you. It doesn’t ask that you question anything, instead, it gives people a convenient escape hatch they can turn to whenever they feel uncomfortable. Choice feminism is a comfort that lets you push the harsh realities of patriarchal conditioning out of your mind. It doesn’t challenge you, or hurt your feelings, or force you to think deeply about the world around you. It just lets you feel content in your own ignorance.

Same thing happened with the fred fiasco a while back people just jump to assuming he misread when in fact the text was just ambiguous.

I need someone to explain the Banana Discourse on Twitter in small words. I might be wrong, but far it looks like an argument between

Western communists deciding the economic reorganization of South America towards "self-sufficiency" by taking away the USAmerican demand for bananas, and

White liberals insisting that South America is better off with the US buying bananas from them because collapsing the industry (somehow) would take away jobs.

Because boycotts totally work, nobody else eats bananas, those are the only two options, and South American people don't have any opinions about their own economy. Pick your imperialist.

Edit: Just found out the discourse is because "we must give up bananas for the good of South American socialism" lady brought up her cocaine habit as evidence that she wasn't moralizing pleasure. On being told that the cocaine trade fuels violent crime by drug cartels across South America, she tweeted:
