People are going crazy over the silly Mormon wives tv show but I don't think they realize just how fucked up the LDS church is. Like. It's built on racism, colonialism, misogyny, and just so many horrible things and people outside of the mormon circle kind of just assume it's this weird religion built by a conman with magic underwear. But it's life shattering. It's ruined so many lives and killed so many people under the guise of being gods "only true church." It steals money from its members (10% of your income) shamelessly. And it starts when you're just a child. You have to give 10% of your allowance to the church because that's what you're supposed to do.
And don't get me started on the colonial mindfuck that's supposed to be an addition to the Bible, aka the the book of mormon
And people in Utah try so hard to forget about the massacres that were committed by those oh so brave pioneers who were just fleeing persecution. They want to forget so badly how fucking insane our ancestors were and the land that we stole
The mormon church is pure evil. It is not just the silly "oh they drink soda but not coffee hurhur that's so funny" religion it's a cult that stole my childhood and teenage years and has done irreparable damage to lord knows how many people and communities

Physically restrained her til she said things were okay? Fuck no. Red flag that is on fire. Someone does that shit to you, you say okay at that moment, but then you muster a small army to move all your shit out and "Dear John" their ass. Tell coworkers and family and all your friends about this person being a danger and use the damn buddy system til you know he has kept himself the fuck away; block on all social media; fucking block all email and numbers too.
i seriously hate him, anon. i could go on rants for ages about this piece of shit excuse for a man. he’s a boy in a man’s body. a little baby piece of shit.
it’s unfortunate that i live half a country away from this friend, bc i’d have had her ass moved out already and that dude would be tasting my toe jam, my foot would be so far up his ass. i’d get an apartment with her so she didn’t have to rely on him monetarily (she’s the breadwinner in the relationship, anyway, but the US living costs are near impossible to survive as just a single person household)
all i can do is listen to her and try to support her through this while she tries to figure out what to do.

Just posted a bunch of doom&gloom political stuff so I want to remind my followers that the sun still shines, flowers still Bloom, children still laugh, and every day is still an opportunity to be kind and do something meaningful.
I promise life is worthwhile, hope is just around the corner, and that humanity was made to love and, underneath the hurt, you can still tell.

am i actually getting nostalgic for the early days of covid when we were all terrified, when there was a healthy amount of fear permeating the air, when there were restrictions and guidelines in place to keep people safe not mere 'recommendations,' when people stayed at home and wore masks and kept their distance from one another, and there were repercussions for those who didn't, when daily case numbers and death totals were actually reported on. when it really seemed like wider society actually cared about the elderly/disabled/immunocompromised.

Remembering Rich Homie Quan: A Melodic Voice Gone Too Soon
Today, the world of hip-hop is in mourning after the devastating loss of one of its most talented and influential voices, Rich Homie Quan, who passed away at the age of 34. According to reports, the cause of death was an overdose, a heartbreaking reminder of the struggles many in our community face. As we process this immense loss, we reflect on the journey of a rapper whose melodic sound left a lasting imprint on the culture.

The Rise of a Southern Star
Born Dequantes Lamar in Atlanta, Georgia, Rich Homie Quan rose from humble beginnings, finding solace in music after his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player were dashed. Embracing his natural gift for storytelling, Quan dove headfirst into the rap game, quickly establishing himself as a standout with his raw, honest lyrics and infectious energy.
Quan's breakout single, Type of Way, released in 2013, became an anthem almost overnight. Its catchy melody, paired with his unique ability to blend singing with rapping, introduced a fresh sound to Atlanta’s already rich hip-hop scene. With Type of Way, Quan solidified himself as more than just a regional artist; he became a national sensation. The single not only dominated the airwaves but also sparked a wave of new artists influenced by his melodic flow.
A Promising Future
Rich Homie Quan’s star continued to rise with collaborations alongside some of hip-hop’s biggest names. His work with Young Thug and Birdman on the Rich Gang project, particularly the hit Lifestyle, further cemented his place as a versatile artist who could blend harmoniously with others while standing out on his own.
Quan’s ability to mix his pain and triumph into a smooth, sing-song delivery resonated with fans. His music wasn’t just about flexing; it was a reflection of his journey—his struggles with poverty, his experiences in the streets, and his determination to make it out. Tracks like Walk Thru with Problem and Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh) became anthems in clubs and on the charts, showcasing his versatility as both a rapper and a hitmaker.
Challenges and Personal Battles
Despite his success, Quan’s journey wasn’t without challenges. He faced legal issues, label disputes, and personal struggles that, at times, slowed his momentum. Yet, through it all, his dedication to his craft never wavered. He continued releasing music independently, staying connected to his core fans who appreciated his authenticity.
However, behind the scenes, Quan dealt with the pressures of fame and personal demons that would ultimately take their toll. Like so many artists before him, the weight of success, combined with personal struggles, became a battle too great.
A Legacy That Will Live On
Rich Homie Quan’s passing at such a young age is a sobering reminder of the challenges that come with life in the spotlight. His death is not just a loss for the music industry but for an entire generation that grew up vibing to his sound. As we honor his life, we’re reminded of the importance of supporting mental health and addressing the struggles that many artists face in silence.
Though his journey was tragically cut short, Rich Homie Quan’s impact on the rap game will never be forgotten. His melodic flow helped pioneer a new sound in hip-hop, and his storytelling brought light to the highs and lows of life in the streets. As we say goodbye to a legend, we are left with the music that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Rest in peace, Rich Homie Quan—your voice may be silenced, but your legacy will echo forever.
