Hi guys, I know I've been MIA for a while. Some personal circumstances made it really hard to keep up with this blog, and I got severe writer's block for Unnatural Instincts.

Think I burned myself out.

To everyone who kept commenting on the fic, sending asks, and checking in, thank you so much. I really appreciate all of you.

You guys have made me feel like I'm back in a place to write.

So...if you'd still like to stick around...I'd love to keep writing UI for you all.

As of right now, I'm planning on releasing Part 12 on Wednesday (4/10) with a teaser going live either tomorrow or Tuesday.

I will, however, no longer be doing DM updates. And taglist will still be closed.

friendly reminder that u can reverse tumblr updates on mobile by downloading an old app apk

step 1: go to your app/play store, turn off tumblr auto-update

step 2: delete tumblr

step 3: google 'tumblr old versions' and find the either ios, android, or whatever other system you have

step 4: scroll back a couple versions and click install on one you want

step 4.5: you may need to give your browser permission to install apps

step 5: click on the download, bam now u have old tumblr

step 6 ig?: swipe down on the blue banner in app telling you to update

What happened to me being able to see the original poster, who reblogged it from them, who reblogged that, and the person who reblogged it onto my dash? I liked being able to see how it ended up on my dash with the last two or three people who reblogged it. It was like seeing a note being passed a few rows ahead of you in class.

Now it feels like I'm reading a work email that got forwarded to me from my boss or something. I don't like it.

Because I totally want to have my main feed blocked whenever I check my activity feed.

As opposed to off to the side where it USED TO BE.

Okay, I figured out how to access my blogs now. When you’re on the home page, look on the top right corner of the screen; THAT’S where the blog symbol was moved.

It took me literal DAYS to figure that out. Not only am I angry at myself, I’m even more angry at the fact that the staff have pretty much glossed over this huge UI update as far as I’m aware.

Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)

Do you not like hell? Do you want to leave and crawl back up into the sunlight of the old UI? Well, have I got a link for you! A beautiful tumblr user (who is not me) has gone and fixed things beautifully for you already: https://github.com/enchanted-sword/dashboard-unfucker

You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!

The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

No matter what position the toggle button is at, I can't seem to get rid of the "processing media" popup thing in the settings (mobile).

Is this something that I have to do on desktop or is it a glitch?

Minimalist CC Wrench Mod by RheallSim (2 Versions)

Hi there! This mod was originally created by @rheallsim, so all my thanks and gratitude go to them. I know they posted about maybe not being able to update their mods as quickly, so I took it upon myself to update this one. (If they read this, I hope they're doing well, and I'm happy to take this mod down if they'd like me to!) Click the read more to get more details and download!

This is my first published mod, so please let me know if you run into any oddities/problems. I created 2 versions of this mod. Both versions work in both CAS and BuildBuy.

Version 1: An update of RheallSim's original wrench mod. The wrench icon is replaced by subtle white text that says "CC".

Version 2: A very discrete version that replaces the wrench with a small white dot (originally only used to indicate custom skintones). This is very subtle, and probably not for everyone, but what I use in my personal game. I wanted to still be able to indicate that an item is CC, but be as unnoticeable as possible.

Again, thank you to @rheallsim!! Their tutorials and CC have inspired and taught me so much. Really can't recommend their other CC enough, so please check them out. LINKS: Download Version 1 (SFS, no ads)

My message on Discord's new UI

"I have visual snow syndrome, a symptom of visual snow syndrome is that white text on a very dark background can cause afterimages. You know screen burn? Imagine screen burn in your eyes, where whatever you were looking at is stuck there for up to an hour. Light mode is physically painful and dark mode is disabling. Your new changes are an accessibility nightmare and have made the app fully unusable for me. And that's not even mentioning the fact that a lot of the changes you made to the app are absolutely awful, convoluted and just plain stupid for ease of use. I know companies love to pull the "well we know every single tester has hated it, but we spent a lot of money redesigning it so we're doing it anyway!" card. But this isn't the logo, this isn't the blue, this isn't minor changes you'll stop noticing after a while. This is a huge overhaul that is again AN ACCESSIBILITY NIGHTMARE! Cut your losses and listen to your audience because I'm seeing a lot of people posting API alternatives to Discord in other servers and Reddit. People will not be using your app. Do better. Discord mobile is fully unusable to me until you make changes, I physically cannot look at the text anymore. Please fix it and do the smart thing."

I downloaded the last APK file for Discord before the change, but this is genuinely disheartening. Discord is actively refusing to even read genuine complaints, telling people 'Well this is how it is now'. Much like Tumblr.

Please send feedback on the Discord app as well as on the store pages! Please let them know this isn't the same as just changing the icon or the colour of their blue. This is an actual accessibility issue!

I will admit though, the ONE good thing about the change is the new Media feature while searching chats, but it's completely overshadowed by everything else and the lack of pages (only infinite scroll) makes it difficult to find things.

Cannot stand the new Mobile Discord UI, actually. Like. Why? Just why? I liked that it reflected Desktop, it was simple to understand and use and all the information I needed (locations of unread messages) were all in one spot instead of split up by buttons on a hot bar.

Also that DMs tab is fucking trash, dude, that triggers every part of my ADHD so bad, why does it look like a screen of emails what is WRONG with you people?

And why is the settings button so stupidly difficult to find? Like it should not be that small and take that many steps to get to. What the fuck?

I've already used a process to rollback to an older version of the app but like why can't there just be a toggle? Why can't we let apps be unique and have unique interfaces instead of trying to make them all work the fucking same? I use Discord because it ISN'T Amino or Instagram or Google Hangouts or Skype or Steam or anything like them! That's the point! That's the fucking point!

Stop fucking homogeonizing everything into Messenger App #57! This fucking sucks!
