MONACHORIC: an umbrella term/label based on the emotion ‘monachopsis’, which is the ‘subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place’. it is something that affects one’s gender identity overall, and while it isn’t inherently a gender itself it can be used as such. there are multiple qualities of monachoric and a monachine individual may identify with all, one or some

- a disconnect and apathy towards humanity, not feeling like one fits in with other people (this may, but does not have to be, due to autism or a personality disorder)

- dogs, dog metaphors or relating to canine behaviour

- teenage behaviour, being awkward, being a loser, misfit or an outcast

- angry, messy and indignant emotions

- concepts of making dumb mistakes, bruises on knees and knuckles, old videogames, CDs and DVDs, being a burnout, making found footage films, rebellion, posters and baggy clothes

zolu is maybe one of the easiest ships i've ever liked. they're dating, except when they're not, they're best friends even when they're kissing and they're still captain and first mate when they aren't. they hold hands, they hug. they have sex. they don't.

Luffy can hold Zoro's katanas and Zoro can hold Luffy's strawhat and no one bats an eye. one says "You're so cool!" and the other says "You're strong" and it's just another way to say "I see you, this is why I follow you/this is why I trust you". it's not seeing each other for a long time and still knowing how the other's steps sound like against wood and sand. the captain runs and the first mate follows. it's always "Zoro and the others" and "Where's Luffy?"

if they're just friends, if they're something more, if they don't have a label for it, at its core, it's just about how they get each other. they understand how the other's mind works. however you view them, it doesn't erase they fact that they love each other in a way they don't love other people.

hmm... had to think about this for a while and talk about it with co-author, but here's what we got. we mostly base this stuff on how plausible it is in show/if there's evidence for it. with a dash of personal experience. This only applies to residuum, btw. I have different personal headcanons for these characters outside the comic.

april: lesbian. this is mostly based off of the fact that most aprils get with their caseys & the comment she said to dale. which could be taken as disinterest in dale specifically, but she seemed more concerned with impressing that popular girl earlier and that reads as more... saphic, i suppose. or at the very least homoromantic.

raph: raph is just raph. we look at him and basically just *tv static*. go crazy. all we got is jokes or stuff that has too little evidence to support. so, yeah, he's whatever you want him to be i guess?

leo: trans. already said my reason in the other post. also, gay. if gay were a power source he could power the entirety of the united states for five months straight without a single power outage. failing power grid notwithstanding (< thats the actual word. its supposed to be mushed together like that. wack.).

donnie: as much as i'd like him to be ace/aro spectrum rep, he just doesn't have the evidence in show for us to apply it to him in this comic. it's funny, for being hc as ace so often he sure is the most outwardly romantic/sexual turtle in the show lmao. one! cherry: "you're so cute, but you're so mean! why do i always go for your type?" two! astrogirl?? perisex is a collection of müllerian and wolffian traits commonly seen in parallel with each other. perisex is also referred to as endosex, which is anything and anyone who is not definitively intersex.

parallel - two objects or lines that do not intersect, no matter if another object or line crosses through both. in this case, müllerian and wolffian traits are parallel with multiple similarities crossing through both.

perisex traits are split into "müllerian indication" or "wolffian indication". indication is being used to describe how no one is perfectly perisex or has the correct perisex parts, and the indication that someone is perisex (hormonal, primary/secondary sex traits, genes, etc) is more accurate rather than the assumption based on external sex traits. the terms "male" and "female" are assignments of what your body closely matches, but does not accurately describe current or past sex traits, so they will not be used. afab/amab are events related to such, and therefore will also not be used unless in correct context.

this is a perisex flag I made that shows a cut purple box with a periwinkle background. purple symbolizing the mix of red and blue, the box symbolizing the parallel of both müllerian and wolffian traits appearing in a singular individual without them being interconnected or imbalanced, and the sun on top of the box representing two halves of one coin (müllerian and wolffian).

perisex people are the dominant majority in society because of eugenics and intersexism. there is no shame in being perisex, but the ideals of perisex supremacy starts at the classification of "male" and "female" and the thought of those two being sexes instead of variations of the perisex traits that appear in gonochoristic species.

be proud to be perisex and dont wish to be anything you aren't. uplift those who are systematically underprivileged and shut up about issues not about you. perisex people suffer, yet only from their practice of prejudice against others.

Reworking and expanding on my Lurkerian gender umbrella I made a year or so ago as a system (decided to make it into an official umbrella, don't mind that.). Wasn't really that happy with it and I wanted to remake it. So, here, enjoy?

Lurkerian is an gender umbrella that consists of apocalyptic world and ferity themes related to being a lurking creature in short; however, it's also related to...

The primal fear one gets within the darkness, not knowing or seeing what's out there.

Lurking and hunting, being a predator, to adrenaline and danger.

Being a creature of some kind, maybe something not entirely human, to nonhuman concepts.

the concepts of night, darkness, and the twilight.

Solar & lunar eclipse symbolism; new beginnings and opportunities of renewal. Solar eclipses specifically also being treated as a sign of a doomsday and at the same time as the day of renewal and new beginning for humanity and general life on earth.

The animalistic concepts, ferality in both humans and creatures, and general ferity and animality.

And the concept of doing anything for survival, to adaptive behavior and forgotten morale and ethics because they don't apply to the world around you anymore.

To injustice and anarchism, chaos within the world as everything unfolds.

to rundown cities and dystopian societies, to apocalyptic settings and worlds where the world is rundown for different reasons, including but not limited to a plague or different types of wars.

The utter madness and paranoia one may succumb to after/during extreme stress situations.

The horror and gorey themes, grotesque aesthetics and macabre themes, the slaughter of innocence and hunting of survival whether that is creatures or humans (thus could have cannibalistic themes).

Might have a connection to some whump media themes but does not specifically need to.

This is more or less made with alterhumans in mind, but can be used in any way the user wishes.

This is an neogender umbrella, it is not specifically related to any other gender umbrellas however it may overlap with themes and such, and it could be classified under the Dystrofare umbrella but a bit to the left in some way. However, this gender umbrella is somewhat horrorgender-adjacent, and may have in common things with the Feruvel umbrella.
