Why mk1 Wu Shi Academy has such strong summer camp vibes? The Earthrealm gang just assembled and some of them are still wary of each other, but they are already goofing around like children.

SO TRUEE Wu Shi has summer camp written all over it because of the drama between the characters. You've got a cool ensemble of characters who are vastly different and theres still a LOT of cool dynamics we didn't get to see but it would've been amazing to see them get along more-

Istg I'm telling you Kung Lao and Johnny Cage would've been the most chaotic duo in the Wu Shi. They would have pranked the ever loving fuck outta Kenshi and Raiden. Imagine this: Raiden and Kenshi wake up one day to a bunch of sparkly-barbie ass stickers stuck to their weapons or door (or their backs 0_0) because cage found 'em somehow. The potential is there I'm telling you. They're gonna get in trouble but Johnny is bored outta his mind and Kung Lao is too intrigued to stop him.

I can also perfectly picture Raiden and Kenshi being on edge because of the pranking but Raiden being the cinnamon roll will try to find something positive and tell Kenshi that at least they're sort of getting their reflexes trained this way. (It would be so funny if they both go to Liu Kang to complain and he's the one saying 'ah yes but, they will strengthen your patience and reflexes' and theyre distraught because he was their only hope )

Even if you are doing an expression where you need to cut into the eye with like the down-arched brow line or whatever, I will often still draw the two arcs as normal, then draw like, the brow line cutting into the top arc and then just erase the part you don���t need. Works the same for MOST expressions, not all, but it is a helpful stating place!

Definitely a big inspiration for FIYM. It's like Harrow the Ninth but for Gojo in the Prison Realm and like, oh my god so well done imo.

But I really like the worldbuilding in this and I'm excited to follow it as it keeps going, so big rec here if you like Plot and are down to follow some more ongoing fics. :)

coanda effect - by @bunniehoneys 250k, M, F1 AU, Slow Burn, Eating Disorders, Drugs, Bad Choices I am probably the last person in the world to read this fic so it feels silly to rec, but I'm doing it anyway because I'm a little obsessed. Caveat 1: also technically a WIP for another week or two

Caveat 2: TAGS check the tags. If you are at all sensitive to discussion of EDs, skip this fic, but I think it's done well and adds a lot to the characterization

Caveat 3: I am not caught up on this fic. it's one that I didn't let myself read for a while (see below) but F1 has a special place in my heart (my dad is into it, I used to live in a Gran Prix city, and I have watched WAY too much F1 Lets Play content).

I've been working really shitty hours for the past 48 hours (almost done) due to research that requires specific spans of real earth time. Because I don't have the focus to write right now, I've had the chance to read a little, and I've read about 75% of this gargantuan fic in windowless rooms on my phone, which has to say something about how much I love it lmao.

Disclaimer: I am a bad source of stsg fics because I actually don't read very many. If I read amazing fic then it tends to trigger the "you will never be as good as the old masters" part of the brain, although instead of real art like in the meme, my fic is putting gojo in a minecraft hoodie and making him do the gangnam style dance. Still.

I also get very unhealthy about metrics/numbers, which I mostly manage by using AO3 skins to block stats, but I still have some moments of weakness. So I try to avoid looking at stuff that I know might make me anxious/insecure about my own works and be unable to finish them (this has unfortunately happened to me before in the FE3H fandom, and that continues to weigh on me).

All that to say, there are some really big, nice, and well-loved fics by wonderful authors currently being updated, and I have read almost none of them. So this is absolutely not me saying I don't like their characterizations, I'm just kind of a hermit.

DRABBLE GAME | MASTERLIST

You are drunk.

That was the only way you could muster the courage to initiate your plan.

You stumble blindly into your home, too busy kissing some stranger you seduced and lured back here. The kisses are wet and messy, you let out a moan as you finally open your eyes, scanning your living area only to see it empty besides the two of you. A wave of disappointment washes over you, but you push on. There is still time.

“Bedroom?” The man asks.

You shake your head. “Couch is closer.”

He lets out a satisfied moan, but it doesn’t ignite anything in you. Nothing does anything for you anymore lately. Nothing except—

All of the cabinets in your kitchen fly open with a loud bang, your lights briefly blinding as they turn on simultaneously. The television also turns on, blaring some news story tragic enough to make any man soft.

The chaos startles the stranger, and he releases your lips with a yell. He scans your home in terror. “What the hell!?”

You pretend to be just as frightened. “I don’t know what’s going on. But whatever is responsible for it seems angry.”

“I’m too drunk for this shit,” the guy says, sacrificing you as he rushes to the front door. “I’m leaving!”

“Rude,” you mumble as you slam the door behind him. Sure, he didn’t know you, but it still stung he just left you to fend off whatever evil is lurking here.

You raise your voice. “You can stop now.”

The television shuts off, leaving you in an eerie silence.

That silence is broken by a husky voice. “You seem rather pleased with yourself.”

Pleased describes you perfectly right now. You don’t fight the smug grin growing on your lips. Shrugging innocently, you make your way over to the kitchen, believing that’s where the source of the voice resides.

Indeed, a man now leans against a counter, glaring at you under raven black bangs.

“Didn’t expect to see you, Baekhyun.” You say, leaning a shoulder against your fridge. You now stand a few feet in front of him, observing the art that is Baekhyun. He’s wearing his usual get up: black pants, glossy boots, and the star of the show: a tan tank that stretches across his torso deliciously. You notice the elegance of his neck, the broadness of his shoulders, the curve of his pecks, the veins running down his exposed arms, and his graceful hands that currently gripped the counter in an act of restraint.

You find the action rather interesting.

“Since when did you bring random men home?” He asks it casually. Even straightening a bit to feign disinterest. You’re unconvinced. His knuckles are white from how tightly he holds onto the edge of your counter, and his shoulders have a slight shake to them.

You tilt your head. “Since when did you care what I do?”

He gives you a devastating grin. “I don’t.”

“That explains the cabinet trick.” You point at said cabinets that are all still wide open.

The smile falls from his face. He’s back to glaring, which should be terrifying with those depthless black eyes of his. Instead, you fight off the urge to laugh at him.

“I was protecting you,” he explains through clenched teeth.

“I don’t need you to protect me.”

“Your actions say otherwise.”

You scoff. “I thought you’d be proud. Don’t demons like using people or something?”

He rolls his eyes at your assumption. “I’m a demon, not a sociopath.”

Yeah, so maybe the man brooding before you isn’t much of a man. He’s actually a demon you accidentally summoned nearly a year ago after getting into some dumb stuff with your friends. Instead of killing you—which he claims demons aren’t capable of doing, but you have your suspicions—he decided to kill time bothering you. You’ve tried everything to get him out: reverse spells, sage, salt. Hell, at your most desperate you brought in a priest to bless the place. To no avail. He refused to leave, therefore, you’re stuck with him.

He’s more a nuisance than anything else. He likes teasing you. Jumping out of corners to frighten you, writing ‘scary’ messages in the fog of your bathroom mirror after a shower, hiding stuff you need just to watch you stressfully search for it, things of that nature. Between those moments are the ones when you both learn from the other. He’s grown curious of modern humanity and your little gadgets. He also has no problem answering the questions you have about the afterlife and faith. It doesn’t help that, despite what historians and religious folk say, nothing about his appearance is monstrous. Oh, quite the contrary. Baekhyun is absolutely stunning. The type of man that could easily ruin a life.

But, again, he isn’t a man.

That fact hasn’t stopped you from forming a crush.

That’s what led to tonight’s events. You’re falling and Baekhyun is hard to read. He’s sultry and flirty and you’ve grown delusional enough to believe he might like you back. But, how can you not when he’s currently taking in your skimpily dressed body. The way his eyes fall to your frame…it’s as though he’s doing it without his own permission, like he can’t help himself. He loses himself in your curves, mapping out your figure the same way you had done to his earlier. You can tell which part he’s appreciating from the heat radiating off his gaze, burning every inch of your skin. It has your heart gaining speed, your skin so warm you’re beginning to sweat. If he keeps looking at you like that, you swear you’re going to attack him. You’re going to latch onto him the same way you did the man that fled your place only a few minutes ago.

You just need to know he also yearns for you.

“Just admit it,” you whisper. That draws his attention up to your face, lingering on your mouth before he speaks.

“Admit what, Angel?” He asks gruffly.

“That you did that because you were jealous.”

One of his perfectly sculpted eyebrows rise. “Why would I be jealous?”

“Because you hate seeing me with someone else,” you push.

He opens his mouth to object, but pauses. His eyes widen slightly with realization.

You smirk. “I’m right, aren’t I? You are jealous.”

He’s glaring again, saying your name in a warning. “Stop.”

“Jealous~,” you sing. “Jealouuuus—"

“I’m not jealous, you’re jealous,” he snaps with a pout.

“Oh, real mature.”

“Coming from the woman who was singing just now.”

To prove his point you stick your tongue out at him.

He shakes his head at your antics. “You’re impossible.”

“And you’re trying to change the subject!”

He grows quiet, his face pinches, conflicted. “I don’t know what that was.”

You don’t reply, allowing him to gather his thoughts.

“Many have fallen from grace because of the seduction of humanity. I have never been tempted, never saw the appeal of you frail beings. But, you’re different, and I don’t understand why. I’m drawn to you, and I care about you. I’m experiencing things I never had, feeling things I can’t explain, but what I do know is….” He jerks away from the counter, rushing to trap you against the fridge with his body. His hands go to your hair, cradling your face, holding your gaze with the inferno that is his home ablaze within his dark eyes. “I want you.”

He studies you in awe, hands shaking in fear or something else, you aren’t sure. “I have never craved anything more in my life. It’s driving me insane.”

You hear it—the want, the desperation, the hunger. It heals something within you, knowing that whatever your feeling is returned.

“I want you too,” you reveal breathlessly. “I want you so bad, Baekhyun. I have for a while.”

He blinks, shock coloring his features. There are other emotions as well, but they pass so quickly you can’t decipher them.

His breath is haggard as he presses his forehead against yours. “I thought voicing these thoughts would make the feeling in my chest go away, but I’m even more restless.”

You let out a shaky laugh, grabbing at his shirt to drag him closer and have him press fully into you. He lets out a groan that ignites your body.

Just as it seems he’s about to break and finally kiss you, he sighs. “I’m being summoned.”

You didn’t understand a lot of Baekhyun’s world. Didn’t understand the Underworld and its laws. From the little he has explained, it isn’t like the Hell Christian’s have painted. The devil does exist, but he doesn't rule over Hell like a dictatorship. Baekhyun is high up in the ranks, but how much authority he holds you aren’t exactly sure. Still, there’s no denying how powerful a demon he is. Your futile attempts at exorcising him is enough proof of that.

“I don’t want you to go,” you admit.

He swallows thickly. “Believe me, Angel, I don’t either. Not after this.”

He pulls back just enough to check you out again and lets out a torturous groan.

“Then don’t,” you say meekly, knowing he’ll reject it. You pull him back to you, enveloping your arms around him. Your hands go to his shoulder blades and he inhales sharply. Biting your lip, you lower your hands, wrapping them around his waist and holding him tightly. “Maybe you could stay? Just for tonight?”

It takes him a minute to answer and you hold your breath in anticipation. Finally, he chuckles and returns your hug. “You’re going to get me in trouble, but okay. I’ll stay.”

You lean back to smile excitedly up at him. “You will?”

The way he’s looking at you at that moment nearly makes you cry. You have never seen Baekhyun so…human. He gives you a matching smile and it’s breathtaking. “I will. I’ll do anything for you.”

And then he’s kissing you and it’s even better than you ever imagined. Still, in the back of your mind you can’t help but wonder if Baekhyun’s words are going to come back to haunt you both….
