1. if you care about what other ppl think of you, ur wasting ur life

spending time worrying about what other ppl think when they look at you is sooo useless. you are creating imaginary and false ideas of urself thro others. you walk past a group of ppl and you immediately become voice insecurities to yourself. who even are those ppl? they are nothing compared to you. thinking that their “prettier” or “richer” or “smarter” is stupid asf bc all those are just society aspects that are false. there is no such thing as being prettier than blah blah blah. you are you just like she is she and he is he and they are they. we are all our own ppl so why waste time thinking ur less than in other ppl’s eyes? spend that time telling urself how valuable you are. realize that insecurities arent real. theres literally nothing wrong with you. you are perfect period. society may tell you that you arent but who tf are they? you wanna stick to a victim mindset or you wanna be accurate in knowing you are already perfect?

you cant spend all your life worrying about what others think of you. stop being goofy and know that the only opinion that matters is you. focus on the thing that rly matters: you. love urself bc ur the one that will never leave ur side.

when i was little, i didnt know how to take care of my pretty type 4 hair bc my mom didnt have the same hair type as me. i would always look at the girls with straight hair or loose curls and wonder why i dont have that hair type. now im in love with my hair bc i learned to take care of it. the tight curls, the way i can put it in twists or cornrows or leave it in an afro. my hair is so versatile! theres no way i cant love it. idc if ppl call ur hair “difficult” or “too hard” or “ugly”… thats bc they will never know what its like having perfect hair like this. they could neva compare and thats a fact. it took me years to love my hair and i wish all little black babies grow up to know how perfect they hair is.

get a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner. i recommend companies like shea moisture, mielle organics, camille rose naturals, kinky-curly, and there are more just research and try which ever works for your hair

soak your hair in warm water and massage your scalp. use your shampoo and scrub with your finger tips not your finger nails (or else you can get cuts). shampoo 2-3 times.

put ur deep conditioner and when you detangle ur hair, use your fingers and detangle in small sections. do not use a small comb. use a wide tooth comb if you want. then, you can put ur hair in twists and put a cap on or steam it in the shower so that the deep conditioner moisturizes your hair.

rinse and use a moisturizing cream / leave in conditioner and put it on ur hair in sections and comb thro. do big or mini twists to lock in product.

when you have on an afro, do not pick your curls and pull it. this can cause breakage and split ends. when you have twists on, water your beautiful hair with water and some product in a spray bottle everyday / few times a week. think of your hair like a plant, you have to water and care for it.

when you take out your twist of any other protective styles, take your time to reduce breakage. and its better to detangle hair when it has conditioner in it. try using pre-shampoo when detangling dry hair.

spend time understanding your hair. thats how special it is. love it bc its raw black beauty.

everyones hair is different so what i do for my hair and the products i use will not always work you. research your hair porosity and hair types. a hair care journey starts off messy at times but the more it lasts, the easier it gets. you can start off hating your hair but you will soon realize how much of a perfect prize it is 💋

Hey!! i thought you ttpd review was really interesting! weirdly enough, i personally liked the songs at the bottom of your list ranking more ( i can do it with a broken heart is still one of my favs though). i think this album was kinda for adults? i mean.....most of the songs didnt really resonate with my experience, probably because i am a child with absolutely zero experience.

idk if this is common with taylor's younger audience, but i never listen her songs as something i can relate to. its more like picking up an really cool book about someone else's life and flipping through it. Or maybe its because i have never had any romantic interest in anyone (which is a scary can of worms im not opening yet) but i really liked her storytelling more that her songs about personal stuff. overall though this is probably still one of my favourite album of hers yet.

i read this post where someone said that you have to have a high IQ or something to understand this album, but i dont think thats it . i think its more about like maturity or being in the stage of life where you can identify with her her stories instead of just enjoying them. (also, being bad at english literature does not mean having a low IQ, so that whole post just kinda pissed me off)

Hi! Yeah, I completely agree with what you said about IQ. It has nothing to do with intelligence and all to do with relating to the songs. But also....people can appreciate good songs without having gone through the same experience, and I think that's why you like them, you know? They might not hit in the same way, but they still affect you.

As far as being an adult versus younger, yeah that makes sense. This is definitely a more adult album. I think the reason Taylor has so many fans is because she can reach so many audiences- this album just so happens to reach the more adult audiences and that's valid!

Hi Em! I haven’t had a lot of eggnog but I have fairly decent memories of it. However I was thinking of picking some up at the store a few weeks back so now I’ll have to give it another shot! 3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos)?

I think I am def most proud of Dog Days are Over!! It's my longest ever one-shot, and also the only 5+1 fic I've ever written, although I did kind of cheat. I think most of what I wanted to land landed well and the thing I am most proud of is that it's the only fic I've ever written that I actually had the motivation to re-write. The first version was a much truer 5+1 and didn't have the connective tissue or overarching theme that it does now, and I rewrote at least half of it after I figured out what I wanted to do with it. I almost never do that because i'm very lazy, but i took the time with it and i think it def paid off!!

11. What work took you the longest to write?

In the absolute opposite vein of dog days, a new place to be from originally had a much longer and more ambitious version that i can...barely remember now LOL. I knew I wanted to write Steve and Jonathan but I just...never felt like I could pin them down and get them to talk. Mostly becuase the ending of s4 is so catastrophic that Plot Components bogged me down--i hate plot, i'm not good at it, and i hate having to weave around it to do what i really want to do which is Write Sad Boys Having Dull, Sad, Conversations. as i'm typing this i remember that the longer version was a much slower burn friendship and would've involved different play-dates between all the characters--i wanted steve and nancy to have an awkward sleep over where they can kind of work through whatever they've got going on (i know ur a stancy truther and that's so valid but one thing about me is that i love unrequited love more than anything and also i can't physically do that to jonathan), i wanted jonathan and robin to become friends (they're both weirdos!! they'd get on!!), i have a whole dialogue of steve and robin talking about the russian torture that i loved but like would have to write so much other stuff to get them to say...in the end it just took me forever to get out even what i did publish and to be honest i still don't know why it was like pulling teeth when so much of it would have been so fun !!! but alas!! they were so fucking stubborn that i gave up and published what i had so it would stop staring at me in google docs like the fucking eyes of t.j. eckleberg. also i think partially i just wanted to write a manifesto of My Stranger Things Character Opinions which probably wouldn't have suited anyone LMAO

This is so fun and easy to answer becuase I always listen to a sad, moody song on repeat so they're always in my youtube music rewind (i'm a freak, but i've been using it since i was 13 and im too old to learn new tricks)

Shiro doesn’t think much about the Garrison. Which would make more sense if he wasn’t, by now, actually there. He’s spent the three days back on earth not thinking about much of anything beyond the tangible details: the things that have to get done, the introductions, the explanations. The first night, he suspects, is as much a blur for the memory-capable members of his team as it is for him, still trying to understand how this body works. How bodies works. How all of this works. 

It didn’t occur to him to ask about the rooms he’d once occupied a few lifetimes ago -- it was Officer Harrison that mentioned, offhand and quiet, that they’d been turned over the next academic year. Reasonable, Shiro thought, and strange that Harrison ( a memory: Harrison slid the keycard over to him, carefully not talking about how the passcode written on it was a burner for the simulation; a glitter in his eyes when Shiro earned his commendation, a hand on his shoulder at Shiro’s thanks ) would couch his words so carefully -- soft and hesitant, the way ( he thinks ) one might approach a wounded animal. 

Perhaps it is not so confusing, then. 

The first day is crashing, the second day is paperwork ( Shiro only realizes, after he wakes late, that all the work he requests to complete has been filed by Sam Holt and something rustedly aching and affectionate swells in his chest ), and the third is: storm clouds gather at the horizon, the the packed desert sand is cool, and he tries to remember what it had felt like, to sit in this common area of the Garrison with its overly familiar couches and the view from the window he’d committed to memory. 

Some of the team is here. Keith is here, and Shiro is -- grateful, most likely, but the fog that had been so pleasant upon waking is starting to feel like a stranglehold, letting only a vague frustration permeate its mass. If he had the energy, he’d hate himself for not understanding why comfort of family is evading him. Hunk and Lance look too energized, Shiro thinks, talking about something he doesn’t have the wherewithal to eavesdrop on. 

Beside him, the couch dips with the weight of someone sitting there. Shiro sees Keith react before he can, and when does it’s languid -- slow and then stopping altogether as he looks at the woman who’s taken up residence there. 

❛ --- Camila ? ❜ 

❛ Hey, you didn’t forget me in space ! ❜ 

It would feel entirely surreal if the surreality wasn’t the thing that manage to fork like lightning through the blanket of fog he’s been shrouded in. Idly, he notes that Hunk and Lance have fallen silent, and he can almost feel Keith’s alertness behind him. Camila’s voice is not muted around the edges; her cadence has always been low and clear, cutting through the background noise, glittering with irrepressible enthusiasm. 

It sounds precisely like he remembers it. He realizes that he does, in fact, remember it. 

❛ Apparently, ❜ he says, and it’s not a joke in and of itself but he couches it like one. Shiro can’t see any tension in Camila’s posture, but he is aware in that moment that they are not alone. It strikes him that this is something he should solve, if only because he instinctually reacts to the boys’ silence and the presence of Keith behind him that he does not want to ignore. 

He shifts, turning around to the team that’s present. ❛ Guys, I’ll be back in a sec. We’re gonna take a walk. ❜ 

❛ Sure, sure. ❜ It’s Hunk’s reply that comes first, easy and sure and guiding Lance’s attention back to him. Shiro shoots him a look that he hope is translated well in this body -- relief and gratitude, and the kind of fondness that is inseparable when it comes to this team. Maybe Hunk gets it, because he smiles. Which frees Shiro up to look over at Keith -- and he doesn’t know what he wants to convey. 

It takes a longer tick, but Keith just shrugs and turns to absently gazing over at Lance and Hunk, who have resumed their previous conversation. Shiro is not sure to make of anything, not sure if all of this ( existing ) is objectively hard or if he’s making it so. 

❛ We could -- ❜ Camila starts, eyes wide and earnest. Shiro shakes his head and pushes against the back of the couch to stand. 

❛ Nah, I could use a chance to stretch my legs. If you’re up for it ? ❜ 

She barks a little laugh, a low whuffing sound, and he remembers it too. The only difference is that when she stands, fluidly, she tenses as if to offer him a hand up and he rocks to his feet before she can make up her mind. 

There’s no surprise that she looks entirely at ease in these halls. There is some that Shiro does not feel lost as he keeps up with her, even if he does not recall the specific memories that decorate the paths they take ( midnight runs, slipping out the door to see a desert with the endless sky stretching above them, climbing up to the roof, rehearsing recruitment skits together -- ) 

❛ So I hear you guys have been busy. ❜ 

❛ Yeah, you’re not wrong about that. ❜ 

Camila’s voice is unapologetically what it has been, but Shiro can feel the way they pick carefully through what could be said -- they look different than they did when they were younger, but Shiro is aware that he looks unignorably so. And there are the things that lurk on the horizon: there are fighting alien factions, there are threats that loom unavoidable and larger than the Garrison could ever imagine. 

The news that had circulated of his prematurely presumed death. 

❛ I definitely owe Commander Holt something, ❜ Shiro says instead. ❛ He’s taken care of most of my stuff since we got back. ❜ ( it dawns on him, in that moment, that Sam has probably cushioned all of this -- their return, the shock of it, the questions and experiments they’d have faced without his intervention. ) 

For her part, Camila seems to have picked up on his tone and follows it like a river pulling with the current. ❛ Oh please, like he’d ever accept anything from you. Or anyone. ❜ 

❛ He should, ❜ Shiro says -- petulantly. ❛ I can’t write with my left hand. ❜ 

It had been unintentional, teasing and drenched in his personal brand of less than kind humor, and it could be too much for someone he hasn’t seen in -- however long it’s been. 

Camila doesn’t pause; she laughs, full and loud. 

Shiro grins. 

❛ Yeah, Iverson wouldn’t buy that excuse. If you were really prepared, you’d have learned a long time ago, Junior Officer. ❜ 

❛ Hey, I was promoted ! ❜ 

❛ Sorry, sorry. ❜ Camila’s grinning too. They are paused by one of the big windows that they’d shimmied open one night -- three of them, Joaquim had been there, too. Shiro draws a deeper breath than he’d been able to take for days. 

At the same time -- 

❛ Hey, d’you want to do something -- ? ❜ Camila asks. 

❛ D’you wanna get really drunk tonight ? ❜ Shiro asks. 

In the end, Shiro only tells Keith and Coran that he’s slipping out that evening. Leaving to do -- anything without telling his brother sits uneasily in his stomach. It still does, when he finds the words -- it feels ungrateful and worrying. But Keith gently places his hand on his shoulder and it feels like acceptance and permission in one, and since Shiro doesn’t have the resources to unravel these developments then, he just takes it. 

And it doesn’t feel like a big deal ( or, it shouldn’t, because a memory: the world does not seem so large now that they have traversed in the dark so often, slipping away without permission, the desert falling away from them underneath the motor of Shiro’s bike ) and certainly not something to tell the team. So he gives the information to Coran and makes a quiet, surreptitious exit when he won’t be missed. 

They don’t take a bike. They take a cab. The bar is lit up with the same golden neon lights as the last time he saw it and his throat closes a little at seeing it -- crossing its threshold with this body that he doesn’t know beyond its power to taint everything around it. 

But then he’s four tequila shots in and fuck it. 

❛ They took my fuckin’ arm, Cami. ❜ He’s draped over the counter, the follow up beer mostly drained in front of him. At least eight shot glasses glitter on the counter in front of them in the light from the running karaoke screen behind the bar. Shiro waits until the cold glass is under his fingers before groaning, loud and low.

Shiro chokes on his drink and it turns into a laugh, wheezing and wet with beer, undignified, snorting and burning until his eyes tear up and he feels Camila surrender and laugh, collapsing in on herself the way she does when she laughs even though she doesn’t know why it’s funny and he can’t remember why it’s funny. 

❛ You’re going to actually kill me, ❜ he gasps, ❛ ‘N I don’t know how many lives I have left in me, asshole. ❜ 

❛ I didn’t do anything ! ❜ She insists, but they dissolve into another wave of laughter, desperate and aching and alive. 

It takes him a while to ease away from the fit, and his ribs ache with the effort, but even when he curses again and slumps back over the bar, he’s smiling. 

❛ My best friend’s an alien, I think, ❜ he says, apropos of nothing. 

Camila doesn’t miss a beat. ❛ You replaced us? Quim’s gonna fight you. ❜

They laugh again and Shiro’s eyes are wet with the force. ❛ I hate him. ❜

Shiro doesn’t notice when Camila rests her head on the shoulder that’s still flesh until way after the fact, and when he does it doesn’t startle him. ( a memory: they are a little threesome, sprawled out on the roof, a tangle of limbs and everyone’s a bit of a pillow and they’re eating candy rings as they race to name as many constellations as they can. ) 

( then he just stops thinking for the night. ) 

This time, Shiro reacts first -- he recognizes the strains of the song before even Camila, but she’s only half a step behind and they’re scrambling to sit upright and talking over each other -- 

❛ That’s our song -- ! ❜ 

❛ Hey, we need the -- can we get the mic ? ❜ 

❛ Cami I can’t hold it I don’t have arms ! ❜ 

❛ You have a wholeass arm ! ❜ 

❛ I have a drink ! ❜ 

❛ Useless, okay hang on -- ❜ 

They’re a tangle of limbs, and Cami holds the mic between them as they start the whole bar in on mostly-screaming the lyrics that flash across the screen. But they don’t need them. Shiro doesn’t need them. 

He remembers every word.

* Well i really wanted to ask u abt the way taekookers claim that the harry styles concert was a valid confirmation that tkk are the real couple in bts and saying "How can anyone watch Harry styles concert and have any doubts about who the couple is"

And them keep on talking abt the way tkk were vibing and dancing together ( like the way V wrapped his arm around jk and jk held V's hand as they were singing "falling" ) and whatever they have done during that concert prove that tkk are real boyfriends ... However i think that was a normal thing that happens between any close friends . i mean isn't normal to be close to ur friends in concerts or party and so on.. Dancing together, holding their hands and wrapping your arm around them? bc honestly the way these people are making it as a big deal and consider it as a couple thing makes me wonder if they ever have friends or even know what friendship means cuz these category of ppl don't know probably how to distinguish btwn friendship behavior and couple behavior.

I really almost didn't answer this because I really don't see the point. Because it WAS a moment. There is nothing here to "debunk." It is adorable and sweet and beautiful. It's absolutely fair and expected for tkkrs and EVERYONE to gush over how amazing and cute that moment was

I don't see this as a romantic moment. Not to give into stereotypes here, but it gives me drunk girls at the bar leaning and swaying into each other, clutching onto each other as they belt out one of their favorite songs at the top of their lungs. They just look a lot better doing it then your typical tipsy drunk girl 😂 and Tae, jk and hobi were all VERY tipsy at that concert. Jimin very much looked like their "DD" sheparding all his little ducklings out the door at the end of the concert lmfao and Falling also isn't a romantic love song, its quite a sad heartbreaking song about regret and loss. It's a song that the members, particularly JK and JM, have made passing mentions of enjoying, but it's not a love song. Lol they looked like they were having so much fun. But to me, it didn't look romantic at all. Im so glad they the guys DID have such a good time at that concert!!

And if that moment is the standard for what qualifies as romance, well then the OT7 Poly truthers were clearly the ones who were correct here. Dancing and hand holding is the standard.... lol then...

The dancing, the holding hands as the other person's arms is around them. It's not exclusive and to me, the vibes aren't any different from that moment to the others. In fact, the vibes given off are MORE friendly than some of these other gifs I included. Lol but none of these other moments I included here either give off romance vibes. They are all just wonderfully beautiful and fun moments between the members that deserve to be appreciated as the amazing moments that they are. My personal opinions of course. 💜

Riot Grrrl, Kinderwhore, and White Feminism

Riot Grrrl was an underground feminist movement that began in the early 90s. It was tied to the punk music scene, radical politics and DIY. It started originally with a Zine by Tobi Vai named Jigsaw in 1988 that expressed and spread radical politics and feminism. Vail later on decided to start a band by the name Bikini Kill. 

For most ‘Styles’, people don't even bother looking at the history of where it came from originally, so why is it important? 

While part of Alternative culture is Fashion and a way to express yourself that's against societal norms, there is alot of political significance that comes with it. When talking about it, Riot Grrrl tik tok creators, and other Alternative creators, say the political significance is based on what the subcultures are. Without that, you cannot be a part of the subculture. Obviously there are alot of conservatives in the scene (As you can see from the usage of lace code) Some complain and say that it's “gatekeeping”, but in my opinion, it's honestly… not. This isn’t the same as someone taking a popular music artist, then saying “You don't know this song? Ur fake lolz”.. This is separating mindsets that Alternative people strongly believe in and instead protecting a community that is supposed to be a safe place.

The Riot Grrrl movement provided a space where women in punk music tackled the conflict of inequality and sexism, and decided to fight it, united and organized.

Kathleen Hanna, Bikini Kills lead singer, ended up writing the “Riot Grrrl Manifesto” in 1991, which is a summary of what Riot Grrrl is and what it means to be a part of it. 

Summary: 

“ BECAUSE us girls crave records and books and fanzines that speak to US that WE feel included in and can understand in our own ways.

BECAUSE we wanna make it easier for girls to see/hear each other's work so that we can share strategies and criticize-applaud each other.

BECAUSE we must take over the means of production in order to create our own meanings.

BECAUSE viewing our work as being connected to our girlfriends-politics-real lives is essential if we are gonna figure out how we are doing impacts, reflects, perpetuates, or DISRUPTS the status quo.

BECAUSE we recognize fantasies of Instant Macho Gun Revolution as impractical lies meant to keep us simply dreaming instead of becoming our dreams AND THUS seek to create revolution in our own lives every single day by envisioning and creating alternatives to the bullshit christian capitalist way of doing things.

BECAUSE we are unwilling to let our real and valid anger be diffused and/or turned against us via the internalization of sexism as witnessed in girl/girl jealousy and self defeating girltype behaviors.

BECAUSE I believe with my wholeheartmindbody that girls constitute a revolutionary soul force that can, and will change the world for real.”

I’m not personally too much of a fan of how Kathleen Hannah ended up seeming like the regular ol’ white feminist that basically put WOC in the shadows within this whole movement. While this piece is about educating about the power that the Riot Grrrl scene had within punk culture, it has many many faults. The diversity within the scene isn’t there. It seemed to be a feminst movement, but only showcased one type of girl. White girls. 

Multiple black punks from that era came out and said that they felt that the riot grrrl scene wasn't for them. Honestly? I don’t blame them. You look up Riot Grrrl on pinterest or on tumblr, you can probably count on your one hand how many POC women are showcased.. This moment for women of color is probably the epitome of White feminism in some cases. Author, Gabby Bess, adds that “The history of Riot Grrrl is inevitably written as "predominately white," glossing over the contributions of black women and other women of color”.

Just like the article from VICE states, 

“In contrast to this ironclad narrative of the white Riot Grrrl, black women did participate in the movement. Few and far between, maybe, but they participated nonetheless, and they deserve more than to be swept under a rug of whiteness--These women carved their own feminist pathways into the hardcore scene, precisely because they were rendered invisible by the Riot Grrrl movement.”

One very powerful punk from that time, Ramdasha Bikceem, made up a whole Zine when they  were 15, that illustrates the conversation of race and gender in Riot Grrrl so perfectly 

This would all result in another black punk from that time, Tamar-Kali Brown, to make her own movement called “Sista Grrrl riot”. Out of all of the information that is circulated about the Riot Grrrl scene, Sista Grrrl Riot was probably one of its least talked about movements. Tamir-Kali Brown and her bandmates brought together a community and showed people a version of themselves on a stage where they weren’t represented.

> Kinderwhore 

Kinderwhore is a very popular style within the RiotGrrrl community. A lot of people Champion Hole lead singer, Courtney Love, for this style's popularity, but actually her bandmate Kat Bjelland introduced the style first. Though, with that being said, Courtney Love definitely made Kinderwhore one of many staple styles for the Riot Grrrl Subculture. 

What is Kinderwhore exactly? One thing about styles like this one is, there isn’t a specific definition to what it is. It was a bold, punk and sophisticated subversion of the classic "girl" stereotype, with a mini-feminine dress and bold makeup. The great part of the Kinderwhore Style is that it was about power. The power of femininity. It was so much more than just a style that included small dresses and mary janes. It was taking the most “fragile” feminine image and making it into something that is punk, and that takes all of the power back. 

Another part of Riot Grrrl fashion is just a subversion of regular punk fashion. DIY, big boots, Plaid, Skirts, Spikes. 

The idea of taking every inch of femininity that men manipulate and instead using it to make them realize that they can't handle what we are, is such a powerful thing to me as a fashion lover, but also as an aspiring social activist. As the rise of social media attention of Alternative Subcultures continues, I believe the next generation of Riot Grrls are going to kick butt and be more inclusive than the 90s scene was.
