you scramble for your phone as your heart beats out of your chest, the mindless scrolling through your 'for you' page ending in that moment he texted you.

what is he doing at this ungodly hour? why was he texting you?

no. he can't come. he just can't.

you try to text back to refuse, but he had already gone offline. you sigh as you sink into your mattress, turning off your phone as you wait for him to appear at your doorstep.

lee chan. the bane of your existence if you were to summarise your experience with him. on and off relationships, meaningless hookups, unanswered texts about what you two were, what label to put on your relationship — he was the red flag package deal. and yet, somehow, you couldn’t bring yourself to actually cut things off with him. while he was all of the above, he made you feel loved, made you feel special with the way every single moment spent with him were the most exhilarating and euphoric moments, chan making sure to hug and kiss every inch of your body while he can, and handling your body with such care, as if you would crumble beneath his fingertips.

lee chan was playing you, and he was good at it.

a couple minutes later, you heard a knock at your door, and you immediately jolt up, your heart palpitating as you pull the covers off of you. once you finally reach the door, you pull it open to see chan leaning against the frame of your door, smirking down at you.

“i knew you’d answer me.” he pats your cheek softly before walking into your dorm uninvited.

“chan-”

“did you rearrange your place? shame, i finally had your dorm layout memorised so i wouldn’t bump into anything while we-”

“chan.” you sternly raise your voice, catching him off guard. he stares back at you, his eyebrow quirked up as he stood there, his hands shoved in his jeans.

“i…i don’t think we should do this anymore.” you stare into chan’s face, your face burning as chan’s eyes bore into yours, his expression morphing into one of slight confusion, a glint of enjoyment flitting across his features as he stalks towards you.

“baby, you're not serious, right? why would you want to let go of this…us?” he moves closer to you, holding you as he soothingly rubs your forearms. you shake your head, trying to squirm out of his grasp as his face lowers down to yours. “you’re my favourite, don’t you know that?” he mutters.

“no.” you push him away, your breathing growing more panicked. “chan, you and i both want completely different things. we are on opposite sides. this isn’t going to work out.” your voice trembles as you move towards your door, feeling cornered as chan continues to move closer to you. he towers over you as you shrink into yourself, feeling completely powerless and helpless.

“but i give you those things you desire, no? and you give me what i want." he tilts his head in mock confusion.

"y/n, honey, we’re two sides on the same coin. we need each other, why would you think something like that?” you can sense the tinge of hostility and toxicity behind his tone as he narrows his eyes at you, reaching his hand out to caress your face. you subconsciously lean into his touch, tears pooling in your eyes as you try to say anything to get out of this monstrosity of a situationship.

“then…then what are we? we’re not dating, you’re not my boyfriend…you hook up with tens of other girls on campus. i want someone who’ll stay loyal to me.” you sputter out, trying to compose yourself to your best ability as chan just laughs lightly, as if you were just stating a silly habit he had.

“we…we’re…we’re, y’know…” you look at him expectantly as chan looks slightly irritated at your persistence, huffing slightly.

“baby, look-”

“no. i don’t want to hear it. i’m tired of the mixed signals. if you’re not going to commit to a relationship, then don’t talk to me.” you cut him off, glaring up at him. you can see chan poking at his cheek with his tongue before he grabs you tightly by your shoulders, catching you off guard as he lowers his face down to yours, glaring at you.

“what, you think you’re special? special enough to have me as your boyfriend?” he mockingly laughs. “honey, there are tons of girls who are dying out there to just have sex with me, and you’re really going to leave all that just because you want to be in a relationship?” chan asks in a condescending manner, and you feel your heart drop to the pit in your stomach. you’ve only seen him get like this whenever he didn’t get his way with other people: his brown eyes filled with belittlement, as if you were a mere inconvenience in his way. his breathing was slowly getting erratic, he’s losing his patience.

lee chan was getting mad at you.

“i don’t know you, i don’t care whether i know you or not. i just saw you on campus, thought you were hot, and just had you to myself, just like other girls. i didn’t talk to you because i liked you.” he sneers, looking you up and down. tears pooled in your eyes as you stared up at chan in disbelief. “you and i do not have any kind of romantic relationship, i’ll tell you that. you want a label on this? fine: we’re just fuckbuddies. nothing more, nothing less.”

“if you’re gonna try crossing the line with all that relationship shit again, then i’m gonna have to just stop what we have, y/n. because i don’t want some brat that bitches about having me to themselves, got it?” he glowers at you. his face was now mere inches away from yours as tears were rolling down your face. you slowly nod before chan stands up straight again, patting your face again as he smiles.

“good girl. now i came here for a reason, ” chan sits down on your bed, smirking at you across the room as you’re still in the corner of the room, hastily wiping your tears before walking over to him. once you’re close enough, he grabs your waist tenderly as he rubs soft circles into your skin, grinning like a wolf while he looks your body up and down, making you feel exposed.

your face grows hot as seconds continue to tick by, and you’re taken aback as chan suddenly stands up, flipping you both around and throwing you onto the bed before he leans over you, leaning down beside your ear as you felt chills run down your body. your heart shatters even more when he whispers:

“happy valentines day, baby.”

yuji itadori is a sweet boy.

no matter how rough he can get while he fights curses, he’s incredibly gentle when it comes to you, the most important person he has left. itadori spends his moments with you like they’re the best in the world.

you’ve been together with him for over a year, knowing him since you’ve been in middle school. it was funny how over all these years, he remains the same at his core. he’s awkwardly sweet, yet not afraid to talk to anyone around him. he cares about his friends and family, and he takes time out of his day to check up on them. it was no surprise why you fell for him.

it was also amazing how itadori wasn’t fawned over by plenty of people at your old school. as nice as he was to everyone, and good-looking too, nobody ever really approached him with romantic interest.

that was until you came along.

your family came from a long line of jujutsu sorcerers, so you were bound to become one. with your crush on your middle school friend and having nothing to lose, you confessed your feelings. that confession led to today— valentine’s day.

with your fingers intertwined with itadori’s, you roamed around the arcade. it was a spot the two of you frequented when you weren’t on the job or with your friends.

you don’t know how long it had been until you found yourselves sitting in front of a certain claw machine. inside of it were various anime plushies, and itadori seemed determined to get one in particular.

he hunched over the controls and had what you called his “extreme face”. it was what you called the expression he makes when he’s extremely focused on games.

when he failed for the 4th consecutive time, you laughed it off, “i don’t see why you’re still at it. we could just buy it from the counter, you know.”

itadori only pouted at you, “it has to be my hard work that gets it. i uh- it just has to be me!”

without saying anything more, itadori turned back around and inserted another coin into the claw machine. you only tilted your head, watching as he failed again. in turn, he grabbed his head in frustration.

“agh! this thing sucks!”

multiple people turned your way, but the pinkette quickly regained his composure and apologized. after he was sure they had stopped looking, he sulked. you were sure he muttered some thing sunder his breath, but you couldn’t hear it.

“here,” you stood in front of the machine in his place, “let me have a go.”

you inserted a coin into the claw machine before you gently gripped the controller. itadori watched as you were able to directly move the claw on top of the plushie. once you clicked the button for the machine to grab what was beneath, you ended up with it in your hands.

“that’s how it’s done,” you joked, holding it out in front of itadori.

he gently hand it in his hands, “eh… don’t really want it though.”

“hm? then why were you trying so hard to get it?”

you asked, but you already knew.

the plushie itadori was trying to get was from this anime the both of you watched. however, it wasn’t just any anime— it was your favorite of all time. you were sure that he was only trying to get it in the first place to give it to you.

embarrassment tinted his cheeks pink, “no reason… in particular.”

“right,” you ruffled his hair. “look, if you want to get me something, make sure i can’t see you fail to get it five times.”

he stood straight, “you knew!?”

“just figured it out, heh. but seriously, keep it, okay? just treat me to some (f/f) soon! i’m seriously hungry.”

“i’ll get you (f/f), but i’m also getting you something else. just wait for it,” he took your hand in his.

yuji itadori is a sweet boy, but he seriously sucks at claw machines.

oh, we all know keys is a huge romantic, so you better believe he goes all out on valentine’s day. if keys doesn’t have work you’ll wake up to him preparing your favorite breakfast. if he does have work he’ll schedules breakfast delivery and leave a sweet note on your pillow. you gently kiss the paper, knowing he’ll spoil you when he gets home.

keys is creative. each year he will have something new planned. your first valentine’s day together he made reservations at the restaurant you’d been wanting to try. he had to make them 3 months in advance to get in. this year he discovered a local movie theater was playing your favorite romantic movie. tickets, popcorn, cuddles, and a cozy cafe after. this man never fails to make the day special.

it was after the movie and cafe date keys did something you’ll never forget.

“hey, y/n”, your boyfriend calls from the shower as you lounge on the bed. you are wearing one of his t-shirts. “can you do me a little favor?”

“didn’t we just do each big favors an hour ago?”, you laugh. “but if you want me to join you….”

“i didn’t mean that”, keys chuckles, now standing in the bathroom doorway with a towel around his waist. “can you log on to free city and see how the valentine’s day event is going? it was my idea”

“of course, babe”, you agree, reaching for your laptop. it always made you feel good that keys trusts your opinion on the game. a few minutes later you’re signed in and standing in the middle of free city square. couples wander hand in hand or sit at small tables. it is night and vendors are everywhere with chocolates and roses for additional coins. a small countdown glows in the corner. 5… 4… 3… 2.. 1..

a plane adorned with red and pink lights flies over, flashing a “happy valentine’s day, free city” message. as the players cheer you notice the plane’s airline name. usually the game avoided using actual brand names so as not to get sued, instead making up their own. the name of this airline is a combination keys’ initials and your own.

“notice anything?” keys ask, running a hand through his wet hair before sitting beside you. your smile tells him everything. “i wanted to do something for you in the game, so i kinda snuck that in there”

“i love it”, you say, moving the laptop aside to embrace your boyfriend. “did anyone ever tell you you’re the sweetest man ever?” you whisper between kisses.

“i think you may have said that once or twice”, he sighs into your mouth, pulling you closer. you’re starting to think you’ll both need another shower tonight when keys suddenly pulls away. one more brief kiss to your lips and he gestures to your almost forgotten laptop. “one more thing. look at the vendor on the end of the street”.

trying to ignore the growing throb between your legs, you reach for the laptop, not wanting to miss whatever other gem keys has bothered to hide, but also desperately wishing he’d recline you both on the bed and finish what he started. maybe that’s why you don’t notice your boyfriend reach under the bed.

“oh, this is adorable. you have someone selling engagement ri-“
