Before I continue, though, I want to make it clear that my knowledge of all things related to aviation is very basic/borderline non-existent, so if you see something that is not accurate/real, it's probably because I made it up. :)

I decided I do not want to kill Vilya in this AU, so she's still alive and she's a pilot for a different airline. She's also the person responsible for Keyleth becoming a pilot.

The last thing Keyleth needs to graduate flight school is to pilot a commercial flight (don't worry, this is completely safe!), so Korrin and Vilya book tickets for that flight to show Keyleth their support.

The flight itself is short (like from Emon to Westruun or Kymal kind of short), and Keyleth obviously has a much more experienced co-pilot (his name is Kerrek and he's been a pilot for as many years as Keyleth has been alive) that helps her through any difficulties she might have. Coincidentally, the twins are working on the flight and that's when Keyleth meets them (and the twins immediately flirt with the cute new pilot). At the end of the flight, once the plane is clear of passengers and only the crew (and her parents) remain, Keyleth is given her wings by Kerr.
