Can I request headcanons for Grog, Scanlan, Percy, and Vax with gn s/o who is a hopeless romantic please?

Grog doesn’t really get it. A lot of the gestures go straight over his head, and he doesn’t see what all the effort is about. Not that he doesn’t appreciate the effort. Vex has a caregiver lean, while Vax has more of a regressor lean (that’s why I put them in each category)

Gilmore is Vax’s papa <33 he adores Vax so much, always giving him little gifts and treats!

I absolutely MUST share my Cass de Rolo headcanons with you after seeing yours 🤩

-Nonbinary and uses they/them but never really got to explore that with the Briarwoods and no one around them seems to really get it except Vax (who I also hc as a trans man)

-Has a habit of touching the scars on their neck due to the texture difference (autism go brr) (I may or may not also do this)

-Cringes slightly every time the Briarwoods are mentioned by name

-Has a hard time writing “de Rolo” on official papers they sign because Delilah made them write “Briarwood” as their last name for so long

-Doesn’t sleep well, chronic insomnia

-Their anemia was partially caused by Sylas drinking their blood so consistently and taking far more than was really safe

-Slightly idolizes Anna because she was the only one who didn’t actively cause them further harm after Percy escaped (Stockholm at its finest babyyyy)

-Coffee obsessed. The servants always find them at least three cups down before seven AM.

-Has a lot of forgetfulness and confusion problems after being hypnotized so often by Sylas. It caused memory gaps and often leads to them forgetting things VERY easily if they’re not careful

Fairytale

This work is part of the @percahliaweek event. Day 5 - Fairytale [Read on AO3]

Parenting is hard. It certainly has good moments, like seeing one’s toddler take their first step or hearing them call one’s name with such adoration, but it also has bad moments, like not being able to sleep longer than three hours at night. And this just happens to be one of those nights. Vex’ahlia rocks her daughter in her arms, bundled in a soft violet blanket with embroidered flowers given to her as a birthing gift by Keyleth. The baby’s screams are so loud that Vex is confident she can be heard on the other side of town, but she has done everything she knows to try and calm her daughter. Vex fed and changed her, she bounced and sang to the baby, and gave her to Percy to see if he had some magic powers she was missing, but nothing worked so far. 

“Would you like me to try again, dear?” Percy offers. The bags under his eyes are heavy, and Vex knows if she were to look in the mirror, hers wouldn’t be much different. She sighs, trying to hide her frustration from the baby and nods. Vesper is passed carefully onto her bare-chested father’s arms. Sometimes, it works to calm her. Sometimes, the baby clings onto his skin like he’s the sun and she a flower, but not this time. 

“I don’t know what to do,” Vex raises her arms above her head. “Do you think something is wrong with her? Should we call for a healer?”

Percy lowers his gaze to the baby on his lap. Her skin is pale as snow—like his—eyes bright as a sunny sky, and the top of her hair is dusted with snow-white peach fuzz. There is something eerie about Vesper. Even her cries, if one were to pay close attention, sound almost like a song. Maybe that was it.

Percy starts singing a beautiful, calm song in Celestial. The melody gives Vex a warm, cozy feeling, albeit slightly melancholic, and while she doesn’t understand the meaning behind the words, she knows it to be a song about good. And it works. Vesper’s screams stop, giving room to soft sobs that are quickly replaced by sniffles. Her eyes open wide, staring at her father’s face, who smiles back at her, and her small, chubby hand comes up to caress his jaw. She’s so focused on him, concentrating hard on his words as if she knows exactly what they mean. Maybe she does.

Vesper’s eyes start closing as the song picks up tempo, her soft pale eyelashes flutter on her cheek, and she brings her tiny thumb to her lips. With a deep sigh, the baby falls asleep. Vex is still standing in the middle of the nursery, watching her husband place their child back in her crib and cover her. Percy does seem to have magic powers that she doesn’t, after all.

“What was that song about?” Vex asks moments later in the warmth of their bed. Her head rests on Percy’s still bare chest, and she traces shapes over his scars, remembering each one’s tales in her mind.

“It was an old fairytale my mom used to sing to me,” Percy answers, softly scratching his wife’s back with his dull nails. “It is about an angel who falls in love with a mortal and gives up their immortality to spend their life at their lover’s side.”

Vex stops her tracing, pondering the meaning of the song. She is far from being an immortal angel, but she does know what it feels like to be expected to live a long life and fall in love with a human who will likely die before she gets wrinkles in the corner of her eyes or white hairs sprout from her hairline. Vex dwells on it more often than she would like to admit to anyone, including herself. “It is beautiful,” She opts to say, hoping Percy doesn’t hear the sadness in her voice. She understands the melancholy of the song now.

Percy presses a soft kiss to the crown of wife’s head and pulls her closer to him. When he speaks, his voice is just as downcast as hers, a sign that he, too, was thinking about their lifespan discrepancy, “It is. And thank Pelor, it worked.”

“Mm.”

There are unspoken words between the two, a pressing conversation that will have to happen sooner or later, but not tonight. Not right now. Instead, Vex’ahlia shuffles in closer to her husband and, in a quiet voice, asks him if he could sing it again. He obliges, and the soft melody echoes in the room again, lulling Vex to sleep with Percy following right after.

It could, however, be transferred via his blood. Shiva is known as the Golden Voice with Golden Hair. He was once part of the Crimson Wind, an all-human adventuring party. However, when they learned of his lycanthropy they turned on him and threw him out. This betrayal caused him to have trust issues and develop a guilt pertaining to his abilities.

Shiva is from a small town in Wildemount, and claims to be a 'country boy'. If the subject of his family is brought up, he will quickly change the subject to something else, or find a distraction for the inquirer.

Connection to current party: His life was [accidentally] saved by Grog, and he follows the team determined to pay back his life debt.

physical:

chronic back pain/issues has a defect in her spine, born with a twisted facet joint fused at the base thats caused her spine to twist growing up causing pain, flattening her feet, shifting her jaw and so on. not enough to be visibly noticable but enough that she needs pain management.

chronic headaches brought on primarily by back and jaw pain.

chronic fatigue caused by many things including chronic pain, low energy etc

Anemia. heavily anemic, requires iron supplements

visual snow syndrome

visual impairment far sighted, one eye a bit more heavily impaired than the other.

hearing impairment mild, hard of hearing in one hear also has audio processing disorder has to face a person in order to understand whats being said includes tinnitus.

rheumatoid arthritis swelling and pain in the joints, usually in the hands more than anything

aids:

cane has a cane, percy possibly made one for her at some point customizes it, probably took a whole day just painting her cane as a personal side project.

wheelchair occasionally uses a wheelchair on the worst days especially after the ordeal with the briarwoods percy absolutely made the wheelchair even adding things to it. ramps were built next to stars and in doorways where needed in the castle and around whitestone so she(and others) can get around with it easier.

wrist brace wears it for stability when writing helps a bit with the arthritis in her joints

reading glasses a different prescription to percy's rarely ever wears them used to swap hers with percy's when they were kids if it werent for percy also needing glasses she never would have used hers ever, probably would have hated them and trashed them really early on

sensory/stim aids percy likes making things for people so he for sure made something for her to fidget with created the first fidget cube for his sister before he made the first guns to ever exist /silly pen twirler. keeps old pens just to fidget with maybe has chewelry? or did as a kid weighted blanket and weighted pillow.

compression wear. her gloves provide compression for her joints also has compression socks

mental:

autistic finds comfort in certain textures, routines, predictable schedule changes and set times she can plan for/around. chronically understimulated but is very quick to overstimulate when there are multiple stimuli outputs has trouble understanding social cues, finds little interest in conversations outside special interests requires/has required some support on occasion definitely has rsd(rejection sensitivity disorder) and prosopagnosia(face blindness) to a degree. didnt recognize percy right away when he came back, especially since it was the first time seeing him in so long he looked (and likely sounded) a bit different from the last time they saw each other so it took a second or more to register who he was outside being charmed by sylas. semi-verbal/speaking, signs instead of speaking when nonverbal if she can, has someone translate the signing for her during meetings, this also helps with her hoh as the translater provides signs when others talk.

BPD has borderline personality disorder, percy being one of if not her only fp(favourite person)

ASPD has antisocial personality disorder struggles with initiating conversation and a habit of self-isolation.

PTSD post traumatic stress disorder. need i explain?

synesthesia associates words with colours, textures with tastes, vice versa and so on.

mild aphantasia cannot picture things in her head based on verbal description alone, faces and objects are fuzzy, never vivid or clear.

maladaptive daydreaming disorder

imposter syndrome has times where her intrusive thoughts and self doubt cause her to avoid asking for help because she doesnt think she needs it or her conditions are "bad enough" for assistance.

cotard's syndrome aka walking corpse syndrome requires assurance on occasion that shes still alive struggles a lot with this and still vividly remembers the feeling of the arrows that struck her when she and percy tried escaping.
