Art for Minish Cap and Zelda (1986) Links. The Minish Cap clothes are loosely based off of the Byzantine Empire/Eastern Rome, and Zelda (1986) boy... Well, you can kinda guess he stole them.
Designs are associated with their older forms from my AU "That Broken Promise." Yes, Minish was once a very normal Hylian child.

no youre completely right - im a gay (trans)man and i legit wanna see so much more about the women bc There Is So Little. I wanna make a lesbian oc who gets bent in half by taash. im very normal.
i’m just tired man!!!! it feels so obvious how disproportionate it is when you’ve got. a cast of characters that we know almost equally little about. and a few of them explode in popularity and it’s like spongebob sticking his hand out the curtain. literally all a character needs to do numbers is to be a light-skinned man
#like you bring up taash!! we know equally little abt taash and emmrich. why is one FUCKING EVERYWHERE and i’m like. scrounging for scraps#sometimes i feel like there has to be a secret other main dragon age tag that has the real stuff in it#but maybe it’s just the tumblr userbase idfk#i feel like i’ve seen a little bit more of neve since the trailer but still not anything on the level as everyone’s fave boys#and before you hit me with ‘lucanis was in a couple short stories’ harding was in the literal entire last game. and she and neve had comics#there’s obviously something to be said about character types too. a lot of people love dark and broody#vs harding keeps getting described as Girl Next Door and that’s much less popular. fine i’m not going to argue abt individual tastes#but like. neve isn’t popping off??? on the columbo fansite????#everyone’s talking about emmrich’s experiments and research but no one talks about bellara’s??#like personally. ok. lesbian opinion so take that for what it’s worth. but i don’t understand all the lucanis thirst#davrin i could understand. davrin can get it. he gets way fewer thirstposts than the other men (hmmm interesting im sure it’s nothing 🙃)#i’m just like. tired. i don’t want to say people can’t enjoy what they’re excited about#but it adds up!#i feel guilty complaining when i am also not doing a lot of Female Character Poasting but like#there’s only so much i can do as someone who can’t draw and has been too busy to keep on top of all the breaking news

Fed Is Best.
No, I'm not talking about the "mommy wars" or the breast-vs-bottle debate. I'm not talking about baby care at all. (Good God, I do not care to open up that can of worms!)
I mean that the important thing is that you eat something. Even if it's not home-cooked (or only counts as "home-cooked" in the sense that you put it in the microwave in your home). Even if you didn't make it from scratch. Even on those days where that "lazy meal" you saw on the Internet that involved chopping an onion is too much. Even if it's not very much. Even if it isn't chock-full of vegetables. You ordered takeout? You walked in and bought one of those ready-to-eat pizzas from that one pizza chain? You walked in and bought a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store? You had a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store delivered? You boiled some water and threw in a brick of ramen noodles? You made a sandwich? You boiled some water and poured it into a cup of instant noodles? You scrounged together some leftovers from the fridge? You ate a snack cake? You ate a handful of nuts? You added some peanut or cashew butter to your instant noodles? You made a smoothie? You microwaved a can of soup? You had dino nuggets and smiley fries even though you're 35 and have no kids? That counts. Always remember, half-assed is better than no-assed.

I love how simplistic the clothing is in Advent Children compared to those in Rebirth. I know it's not what they intended (Rebirth is a fairly new game and AC Movie was back in the 2000's). But I like to think that characters had to improvise with their clothes because Shinra, who was the major supplier for everything, was gone after Meteorfall. Plus with Midgar down and in the middle of a wasteland, they had to scramble for resources, so any fabric had to be salvaged.
Here's some side-to-side references of Remake/Rebirth (RR) Clothing vs. Advent Children (AC) Clothing:
[Rufus Shinra]
Tumblr media
The buttons. The details. The extra fabric. The belts. And then look how more simple AC is. Sure he has a coat on top of three shirts, but his RR suit looks so extra and customized to fit him whilst his AC suit looks like something he scrounged up in his remaining closet. He lost all of his extra belts. His undershirts look like they’re made out of cheap cotton too. His coat in particular looks short on the sleeves and too loose on his form.
[Turks: Rude, Reno, Tseng, & Elena]
Tumblr media
(Top right photo from Advent Children)
Classic expensive suits for RR. Simple suits for AC. Look at those clean looks and small suit details for RR (ex. Rude has a patterned tie and Elena’s collar has a small button/pin on her collar). The difference is apparent with Reno, who has a fancy undershirt in Remake vs his simple cotton undershirt in AC. And if you zoom in on the AC photo, the coats have zippers!!! The AC coats also look loose compared to their form fitting coats in RR.
[Cloud Strife]
Tumblr media
AC!Cloud has more fabric than in RR. But AC lacks the details that RR has. For example, RR has leather gloves with metal encased on the wrist and fingers. His shoulder pad looks forged with giant metal screws as well. But AC mostly has leather and little to no metal except for its strap buckles and wolf insignia (And it's likely that Cloud made those wolf symbols himself). Although, he does have major upgrades (read: his sword and motorcycle; both things he probably made himself/with help from scrap materials).
(Extra note: This is a common theme on other characters where they replace their utility pockets and metal armor with leather/denim. It makes sense for their equipment to be replaced due to wear and tear. Lack of metal armor could be due to lack of weapon/armor production. Plus Leather pauldrons/gauntlets are faster to make.)
[Tifa Lockhart]
Tumblr media
Her outfit in AC looks more casual than in RR (ex. She got rid of her compression armbands; She switched out her red combat boots for look-alike converse sneaker boots; and put her utility pockets in front of her skirt/shorts combo). Notice how she doesn’t have gloves nor Materia slots in the movie (Although it’s weird that she DOES have gloves in other games/promos).
[Barret Wallace]
Tumblr media
In AC, he has a sleeveless puffer jacket and a fishnet shirt. He also lost his leather utility pockets (for ammo possibly) from RR. And it’s probably because he doesn’t need it, now that he has a new advanced weapon (it can transform from a metal arm into a high tech machine gun and vice versa). As an oil baron, he probably has more access to materials and utilities compared to other characters, that’s why Barret’s clothes don’t look so simple/improvised.
[Marlene Wallace]
Tumblr media
Obviously Marlene would have a different look when she got older. But look at her cute frilly pink dress vs. her white sleeveless collared shirt and floral patterned skirt (notice how her outfit looks like a mix of Cloud and Aerith’s outfits). The stitching for her AC outfit is way more simple. Also I’d like to think Barret gave her that floral patterned fabric for her skirt since it would have been difficult to get ahold of.
[Yuffie Kisaragi]
Tumblr media
Zippers galore. Her outfit is changed to black with a floral patterned shirt with a denim ensemble (I think her outfit is a little extra because she's a WRO member). Her shuriken’s the same but her metal and leather armor are gone and replaced with a wristband and a black cloth that covers her forearm. She still has her utility pockets though but it’s in denim (I wonder, did she break her old armor?).
(Edit: She also has these green converse knee high boots?? Again, as a WRO member, she probs got them outside of Midgar)
[Vincent Valentine]
Tumblr media
Nothing changed that much. He kept his coat. His AC leather straps and gauntlet are less detailed than the Rebirth one. The metal buckles look different in shape too. I think he changed those in AC. Makes sense if there were wear and tear during the years (I wonder how he does his laundry though lmao).
[Cid Highwind]
Tumblr media
Cid changed to a cotton blue shirt. He doesn’t have his pilot scarf anymore nor his flight jacket. Instead, he has a brown bomber jacket tied around his waist with a dog tag around his neck. As much as I think his clothes are due to scarce resources, I also don’t think he cares that much regarding fashion.
[Reeve Tuesti]
Tumblr media
The shoulder pads. The silver and yellow accents. The foot length blue coat. It's a major improvement on Reeve's outfit compared to his old businessman suit. As the WRO leader, he gets access to making his outfit a little fancy (more chances to trade with other towns/cities outside of Midgar). Although I do think someone made that coat for him, and he wanted to reject it because he considered it too much. But accepted either way 'cause it would be a waste.

✨ pre-dawntrail wol questions! ✨
over on our little server i've been asking a WoL development question a day until dawntrail and it's been well-recieved so far, so after a month of doing it i figured i may as well put them on here~
use them to draft your own posts! send each other asks about them! answer them in the tags! do whatever you want with them, as long as you're having fun!
how is your wol about personal hygiene? are they on top of it? always perfumed and spotless, a little messy sometimes, or do they have to be reminded to groom?
is there a texture your wol absolutely can't stand, either food or feeling-wise? or is it not something they tend to worry about? do they go to great lengths to avoid it or do they just power through it?
what is your wol's evening routine? do they prepare for the next day? do they just wing it? do any weapon or gear upkeep? just pass out because that's tomorrow them's problem?
how does your wol's echo manifest itself? do they see visions as they happen? all at once? delayed? do they get any physical symptoms from it?
does your wol have any siblings? how do they get along with them? is it a good relationship or is it tense?
how does your wol feel about romance? are they a hopeless romantic, waiting for The One, or are they more casual? do they believe in soulmates?
how does your wol feel about their hair? is it important to them? just kind of in the way? who cuts it? do they take good care of it or are they not particularly fussed about it?
how good is your wol at taking care of their armor/clothes? do they mend them themself? pay to gave it fixed? just change it when it gets old?
what's in your wol's travel bag? any trinkets? any vital items they cant go without? do they travel light and figure stuff out on the fly, or do they bring way too much with them? (bonus points if you have images!)
how does your wol sleep? very light? very heavy? do they need a specific item to fall asleep? is it easy for them to fall asleep, or does it take them forever? where do they prefer sleeping?
where was your wol during the last calamity? how did it make them feel? did it change their life, and if yes, for better or for worse?
shadowbringers spoilers: how did they feel being so... up and personal with another calamity? did they feel responsible? scared? did they feel like they owed the first to stop it, or were they more detached from the situation?
for the canon casters: what does casting magic feel like to your wol? how does being "out of mana" feel?
for the physical fighters: how does it feel when they do those impossible moves? the twirls, the jumps? do they supplement with aether? dynamis? is it purely physical or is something else involved?
what would your wol be if they weren't the wol? what would they do as a job or career? would they be happier?
is your wol good at cooking? what's their specialty? what can they never get right no matter how hard they try? what flavour profile are they good at cooking? what do they eat on the road?
out of all the scions, which one is the one your wol gets along with the best? what about the one they get along with the least? why?
how good is your wol with money? do they save up? scrounge around? spend it with wild abandon?
what would you say is your wol's greatest flaw? what part of their personality causes them the most problems?
what is your wol's best quality? what's the thing that they do that really gets stuff done of makes people like them? hard mode: their own perception vs. a friend or partner's perception.
what does your wol do to unwind? any hobbies? reading? sewing? croquet? sitting in a dark room in complete silence?
how good are your wol's table manners, based on their own culture? how does it compare to ishgardian table manners? eorzean? doman? steppe?
what is your wol's inner monologue like? do they refer to themself as "i"? "we"? "you"? is it organized or all over the place? are they kind to themself, or do they chide themself constantly?
what's your wol's relationship with food? do they skip meals or do they eat at specific times religiously? is food important to them, or is it just a means to an end to keep their body going? does food mean something cultural or personal to them?
what is your wol's relationship with their family? are they estranged? still very close? tense?
what does your wol think about lying? is it unacceptable to ever lie, are white lies okay, are they a pathological liar? how do they feel about people who lie to them?
how does your wol feel about allag in general? the tech, the experimenting, the crystal tower? any thoughts on allagan ruins? are they impressed, scared, resentful, neutral?
what sense does your wol most rely on? hearing, touch, sight, smell, taste? maybe even aethersense or dynamis?
how does your wol feel about mind-altering substances? do they partake? do they dislike them? are they neutral? do they take them socially, or anytime, or not at all?
how does your wol feel about children? do they want them? like them from a distance? hate them? no strong feelings?
how does your wol work out? lifting? sports? walking? how often do they do it? is it for fun or to keep up their physique? do they enjoy it?

𝑻𝒐 𝑫𝒆𝒇𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒆
ɪɪ. sᴛᴜᴅʏɪɴɢ ᴡɪʟʟɪɴɢʟʏ (ᴡɪʟʟ ɴᴏᴛ ʙᴇ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴɪɴɢ ᴀɢᴀɪɴ)
You vs. Your VERY EASILY Distracted Brain (feat. Mother being a schemer, because why wouldn't she be.)
Tumblr media
The moment you're old enough, you basically dive head first into every Greek and Roman book you can find, whether it be on mythology or mystery.
For every chance you get when your parents decide to pay a visit to the library, you scrounge the shelves for anything you might have missed, and the moment your [E/c] eyes lock onto something that could have valuable information, it's free game and you're already dragging Mum over to the front desk.
Your moms are, understandably, a little concerned over your sudden obsession for almost anything Greek or Roman, but your Mother likes to soothe her wife's (and her own) worries by saying that maybe Willow's stories had more of an affect on you than they thought they would. It doesn't really do a lot to reassure your Mum, nor even Mother, to be frank, but your nose is usually stuck too far up in a book to care.
Of course, you don't like making your guardians worry, but your guilt over seeing their concerned gazes is unfortunately not enough to make you slow down—which is admittedly a bit of a surprise to you, as none of your teachers from your previous life could hardly ever get you to pick up their required text books of your own violation.
Oh, if only they could see you now. They'd probably think it was either a miracle or you'd gone insane (you have).
But then again, it's not like you were trying to be difficult on purpose or anything, back then; you'd just found it hard to really pay attention to anything those old school books were saying because they couldn't really ... connect with you, if that makes any sort of sense.
(Actually, does anything about this whole scenario make any sort of sense? It may have been years—eight years, to be exact—since you've accepted your new circumstances, but would you really be surprised if you just woke up in a hospital one day and were told you'd been in a coma for a while?
... Yes, actually. And maybe a little disappointed, too, but only just a little.)
And you know, now that you think about it, you also lacked a lot of motivation to put any effort into studying, no matter how important it was. Maybe your past teachers should've told you that you'd start getting hunted down by monsters at a certain age. That probably would've been enough to make you wanna put more effort into their classes.
(That is a complete lie you would have laughed in their faces at the absurdity alone.)
Now that you are quite literally in the world of Percy Jackson (holy shit you still have to take a moment to think about this sometimes), though, the threat of monsters is an absolute guarantee, and you are not about to risk dying a second time.
So, for the first (and ONLY) time in both of your lives, you're willingly buckling down and genuinely trying to absorb as much information as you can. It is a process of trial and error, as you're pretty easily distracted, but your life is actually at risk even more so in this world than your old one, and you'd feel bad if you had to rely on your parents to protect you forever.
"This is getting ridiculous," Mum says on the day she finally gives into Mother's suggestion of buying you a bookshelf for your research.
You ignore the exasperation in her voice, naturally, and continue sliding all of the books you've collected over the years into your newly acquired piece of furniture, with Mother at your side and giggling at the look of genuine disbelief her wife gives you while you work.
"Close your mouth, dear," Penelope says, voice teasing and eyes tinkling playfully as she sends her lover a grin. "You'll catch flies."
Willow huffs and crosses her arms with a small roll of her eyes, but she still closes her mouth as her wife told her to nonetheless.
Mother giggles again, and you don't need to turn around to see the way Mum's face starts cosplaying that of a tomato at the sound.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
One year before your death, you played Undertale.
Such a fact may seem irrelevant, but that would only be true in literally any other world that didn't have monsters in it.
You see, when you were gifted the game for Christmas and played it about three weeks later on your Switch, you played the Pacifist route first.
And then you didn't bother with the other two routes afterwards, because you decided to watch a Genocide playthrough beforehand. You didn't intend to finish it; you only wanted to get a feel for what the game would be like to prepare yourself before you actually played it on your own.
You got to Toriel's death, closed the video, and then cried into your pillow for the rest of the day.
Undertale made you sympathize with the monster, and this is how it affects your second go around:
When you read about Medusa, only a priestess with no where to run when Poseidon rises from the depths of his realm and offers his hand to her, and powerless when this act from her fellow God makes Athena's rage and curse Medusa into a monster for heroes to hunt with the promise of glory, you grip the book in your hands until your knuckles are white and feel your teeth grind together in a quiet anger.
Then you learn of Charybidis, unyielding in her loyalty to her father, even as he brings her into yet another petty feud between him and his brother, only for her to pay the price in having her body contorted and shaped into something indescribable and surely painful if it's sole purpose is meant to suck in as much water as possible and then spit it back out over and over again, you find yourself slamming the book shut and tossing it onto your bed to hit something.
And when you come upon the tale of the Minotaur, you finally give into the temptation and weep because you can't imagine being born into a world that calls you 'wrong' long before you even take your first breath. What was it like, you wonder, spending a childhood in a home that was never truly yours, where the denizens did nothing but look upon you with disdain and disgust. How old was he, you think, when the king deemed him a 'prize' and then threw him into a dark maze that only fed him when 'heroes' (not to him, never for him) sought out his blood?
Undertale made you sympathize with the monster, and you know, deep down, that that fact alone will one day cost you.
You just hope that it won't be anytime soon.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Your birthday's coming up, little love," Mother says as she runs her fingers through your hair. You hum in acknowledgement, too distracted by the book in your hands, and Penelope releases a sigh—an amused one, but still a sigh nonetheless.
"I bring this up," she begins, voice teasing as she abruptly boops your nose and makes you flinch back, blinking in surprise, "because I would like to know if there is anything else you'd like other than more books." She chuckles.
Still caught up in the suddenness of Mother's random assault on your face, you scrunch up your nose and lift your head up to meet her eyes, your brows furrowing.
"I ... don't know," you answer honestly. Then, with a small shrug of your shoulders, you add, "I don't think I really want anything else."
Mother hums, a thoughtful sound, but there's a familiar quirk at the corner of her lips and a twinkle in her [E/c] eyes that lets you know she's planning something, and it takes everything in you to stop yourself from gulping, because when Mother makes plans, she always pulls through—for better or worse.
Oh, God, you think, making sure to refer to Capital G God and not the Greek ones because you don't trust them. Maybe my birthday present can be skipping the day all together? Would that work?
(That was a rhetorical question; you knew it wouldn't, but it was nice to give into false hope every now and then.)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
(You have to stop lying to yourself: false hope only leads to more suffering.)
Mum has been acting strange.
You first notice only a couple days after your birthday conversation with Mother, around the middle of dinner. Granted, everything had been relatively normal at first—but those were the two, key words: at first.
Spaghetti and salad had been served that night, with you eagerly digging into your pasta and garlic bread while Mother ate next to you with far more grace; pretty normal, except for the fact that Mum—a far more messier eater than you—was taking bites of her salad slowly.
Maybe it was nothing. Mum could've just been feeling sick and didn't want to upset her stomach further, or maybe she was just tired.
But you saw the quick, repeated glances she kept sending her wife's way, and you knew at that moment that something was up.
The question was on what exactly that 'something' was.
You consider bringing it up to ask, but then figure out that if your parents had wanted you to know whatever secret they're pretending they don't have, they would've already told you.
So you watch, and then you bring out the last empty notepad you have to write your observations down, because your memory was apparently biased and seemed very picky on what you should and shouldn't remember.
(Unsurprisingly, this fact may be one of the key factors in you doing not so well in school, but. Anyway.)
- mum is hovering
It's the first thing you notice: Mum following Mother around like a lost puppy, eyes wide and begging, teeth sinking into her lower lip whenever Mother walks up and down the stairs and tries to do the basics of her everyday life. Months ago, Mum had no problem with Mother reaching for something on the top shelf, or crouching down to get something beneath the sink, but now the satyr looks like she's going to have a heart attack if Mother so much as leans down to get something from one of the bottom shelves of the fridge.
Watching it the first few times is kind of funny, honestly, because it's such a sudden switch up from Mum's usual confidence.
But then it lasts longer than two weeks, and that's when you begin to worry.
- mother appears to be sick???
It's the only explanation you could think of to understand Mum's constant hovering. That, and not long after you noticed Mum's constant trailing after her wife, you managed to clock in that Mother seemed rather ... fatigued, so to say.
Granted, it wasn't as noticeable as Mum's hovering, but it was still there in the way Mother would stumble backwards a little after reaching for something, or how—whenever she'd bring you outside to join Mum at the barn—she'd have to take a short break, sometimes even sitting down to catch her breath.
You'd fret, just a little, and ask if she was okay everytime, but she only smiled with that familiar twinkle in her eyes—so much brighter than your own despite being the same color—and nod her head, telling you not to worry and that she was fine.
Weirdly enough, it was only that look in her eyes that made you believe her—even if the concern still lingered in the back of your mind after she'd get back up, take your smaller hand into her own, and then lead you the rest of the way to your sun-kissed Mum.
- they both keep giving me these "subtle" (they really REALLY aren't) looks
You're more than used to your mothers sending you 'looks', whether they be warnings like, Hey, get away from that, it's dangerous or, What are you doing? and, most importantly of all, Wanna learn another way to mess with your mom?
Those looks are what you're most familiar with, naturally, so when your mothers start giving you ones you've never seen before, you take note of them in an instant, and now you're trying to decipher that in hopes you'll be able to decipher the layer above it and finally know what's got your Mum Mother Henning Mother and Mother sending you a look that borders on mischievous everytime you send her a suspicious look at the dinner table.
Not knowing, in truth, sometimes make you only a little uncomfortable. Not knowing when you feel like you should, though, is absolutely driving you insane because you can't help but feel like the answer is right there and yet you're missing it for some reason and—
Mother decides to drop the bomb right when your ninth birthday's over and you're all stuffed on cake.
"I'm pregnant," she says, shrugging like it's the most casual thing in the world and smiling because she knows she just tipped yours upside down. "You're going to be an older sibling, [Y/n]."
Mum chokes on her drink just as your jaw practically hits the table.
"I—" You blink, suddenly thinking back to everything you've jotted down in pursuit of learning your parents' secret, and then feel your face warm once you see the knowing look and amused smile on your Mother's face.
(Of course she knew.)
"... Okay," the word comes out in a croak.
Mother has the gall to snort.

Lucid Dreaming
Summary:
Peter has a recurring nightmare about being locked up. There’s probably some psychological reason for it, and he tries not to dwell on it. He’s busy being chased by the villain of the week, dealing with scrounging up enough money to pay the rent on his shitty apartment, and hanging around outside the donut shop where MJ works, trying not to look like a creep when he checks up on her. Until he falls asleep, and doesn’t wake up again. Until he falls asleep, and Tony breaks into the room where he’s locked up to rescue him. - - - Or, Peter was kidnapped shortly after Endgame by Quentin Beck, and he’s spent the past year and a half trapped in a series of illusions. Is everything that happened since the Battle Against Thanos real, or just an elaborate storyline Beck played out for his own amusement, with Peter as his personal puppet? Are Tony and May really alive, or is this just a dream? How is Peter supposed to tell what’s real and what’s fake when everything seems too good to be true?

the whole thing with the author defending (?) tom the wife beater is so repulsive, and then you read it again and i don’t think bumble is mentioned ONCE. she scrounges for sympathy with turtle tail, but the other one? the fat, useless, other one? forget her! (this is negative towards the authors, i adore the better bones stuff, esp how bumble is treated. vote bumble :) )
I really cannot get over it... to angrily write out a whole screed on how the strongest punishment is regret and not consequence, compare the sentiment of a reader that "Tom didn't deserve heaven" to his physical abuse of Turtle Tail, and then not even mention his other crimes of kidnapping and torture.
Even in death, Bumble isn't important enough to mention. As the books continue, they even continue to only mention her death as an unfortunate accident, or evidence of why kittypets can't join Clans. Even though she was MURDERED.
I think the statement is a good exercise in the difference between a post advocating rehabilitative justice, and abuse apologia just dressed up as it.
There IS a point to be made about how the idea of a Hell/Prison just makes bad people worse. We often have a desire to punish, because we FEEL better getting catharsis seeing A Bad Guy suffer like they hurt others. But that alone doesn't really fix or address a problem.
For example, it's really common to feel that kind of revulsion at a drug addict who robs a convenience store for money. Does it actually reduce addiction rates, or undo the trauma of the assaulted cashier, or help prevent it from ever happening again to throw the robber in a broken prison where they come out, 7 years later, with no rehabilitation?
The answer is no. It didn't help anyone. 7 years pass and he's still addicted to substances, possibly even worse, because prison just made his life shittier. As a leftist we can recognize that compassion is usually the answer.
(Unless, of course... someone needs to be removed from a position of power or actively prevented from attacking others. Violence is the answer sometimes.)
But the thing is, the author didn't SAY that. What they did was compare the impulse for catharsis, to TOM'S DESIRE TO BEAT HIS WIFE.
NO, those are NOT the same thing. Your desire for comeuppance towards a wifebeater character getting a redemption reward for "saving his child" after a long life of cruelty without consequences, is NOT THE SAME as Tom the Wifebeater inflicting pain and suffering on people out of spite.
She had to phrase it in the worst possible way for this argument to even LOOK like it made sense. "She broke HIS rule of Don't Be Mean To Tom" vs "He broke YOUR rule of Don't Be Mean To Turtle Tail." And "Now he's being taught how to be lovely"
Physical abuse, emotional abuse, and kidnapping are not "being mean" and it's both sick and insightful that she'd call it that
Domestic abuse is not a "failure to be lovely," it's the act of harming your family or partner to control them.
Tom the Wifebeater is a character who was not written with a scrap of nuance. He is not a real person. All they did with him was consistently show how much pleasure hurting people gives him, then say him dying for his biokid absolved everything
So in this series where you establish there are Born Evil Truly Malicious people (ONE EYE IS IN THE SAME BOOK), but then turn around to cry that Tom the Wifebeater can be made lovely off-screen...
You end up saying that domestic abuse isn't in your arbitrary "evil" category.
And that's so fucking fitting for the arc of Clear Sky's "redemption," where the same book ends off on Thunder saying that his abusive, woman-killing dad wasn't so bad all along because he's not like One Eye.
The answer's just that simple. They don't think male abuse is all that terrible because it's the same as an impulse; explicitly not malice. So it doesn't make you "evil," and only "evil" people deserve the Dark Forest.
(Dont question the Dark Forest as a concept or how starclan defines evil though :x dont worry about it :x)

Art block/compulsion to trying to be congruent in both franchises ive done art in and not simply hyperfixate on one compelled me to scrounge up old art, give it a touch up and yeet it here.
Tumblr media
Now these two are notorious within the Sonic franchise for being paired up in one way or another. Be it shipping, allies, the same entity, or even sparring with various results.
Personally I'm for the VS. Route, for you can't simply put two highly destructive Malicious Sonics in the same area without them trying to kill one another.
By my profile and art it's a little obvious I'd go for Super Sonic as the victor. This man has been at it long before .EXE gained popularity. Sure .EXE is a God, but Super Sonic (at least in my opinion) is quite literally a force of nature, pure chaos energy at its untapped finest.
I do have an alternative idea like this a friend suggested that I should draw but haven't yet. Should draw it tho.
Side note for non STC readers: Yes he defeated a God, Chaos. Literally one shotted him then proceeded to throw whatever remained off a cliff.
Like one does

Kaiju Week in Review (January 28-February 3, 2024)
youtube
Minecraft: Bedrock Edition's Godzilla DLC is now available. I joined Wikizilla's stream of it yesterday as a spectator and found it quite entertaining (especially when @squid-in-a-party-hat switched to Creative Mode and started summoning mini-kaiju). I'll post the highlight reel from that stream when it's finished. The main hub of this DLC is a combination movie theater/gallery; each of the four screens lets you access a different minigame. The first is based on the original film and has you rescuing civilians and just trying to survive as Godzilla trashes Tokyo. The second transforms you into Godzilla and pits you and your allies against various kaiju from the first three series. The third tasks you with defending Tokyo against Shin Godzilla, with each defensive phase featuring a different form. The fourth just has you taking photos of the battles in Godzilla vs. Kong (with the Tasmian Sea fight replaced by Godzilla barging into Kong's dome). I found the second and third to be the most interesting, but it's dismaying that only the third really takes advantage of these games being in Minecraft. You scrounge items, build barricades, lay down TNT, trade with NPCs, summon agents, fire blood coagulation potion into Godzilla's mouth from a crossbow... it's a lot more involved than the others.
In further Godzilla video game news, the Heisei MOGUERA and a crystal-hurling SpaceGodzilla variation have joined Godzilla Battle Line, the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers mobile game is teasing its original monsters, and Dave the Diver of all things announced a free PlayStation-exclusive Godzilla DLC for May.
Tumblr media
Here's a rare sequel to an IDW Godzilla miniseries. Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons II - Sons of Giants will boast the same writer (Frank Tieri) and artist (Inaki Miranda) as its predecessor. The logline:
The sequel to last summer’s smash miniseries! Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda reunite to explore the conspiracy that led to Sir Francis Drake hiding his treasure on Monster Island! Who are the Sons of Giants, and what is their mission? More importantly, what is their connection to Godzilla and the other monsters? This series shows us how it all came to be, how Godzilla was discovered by the leaders of the world, and how it changed history forever!
Despite the Roman numerals, sounds like a prequel. I still think there's something off about any Godzilla story set before the Atomic Age, but the Sons of Giants were the most interesting part of the original Here There Be Dragons, and historical figures encountering the King of the Monsters is always amusing.
Tumblr media
Naturally, Funko is making a line of Pops for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The standout is the Amazon-exclusive figure of a sleeping Godzilla; I also love how Shimo looks like she's yakking. Monogram also revealed the lineup for its sixth wave of Toho Godzilla bag clips, as well as a GxK set. Highlights of the former are a curled-up Final Wars Anguirus, a Simeon, and Zilla; the latter is notable for including a previously-unrevealed monster called a Parrot Frog.
youtube
Tokyo's Hibiya neighborhood has long played host to Godzilla statues: first the Kawakita Godzilla, then Shin. Now they're getting a new three-meter statue of the original '54 Godzilla. It emits smoke at night, the mouth glows, and there seems to be some kind of AR app through which he fires atomic breath at you. Despite it being a 70th anniversary installation, however, it'll only be in Hibiya until March 10. I'm guessing that won't be the last we see of it.

Children of light/darkness
it wouldn't let me change the txt 2 black so enkis pink cuz i hate him
Couldnt stop thinking about that one stupid throw away line in fagcats monologuing so i decided to apply it to the rest of the gang becuse i can 4 context i'm going to assume the ratio of children of light:darkness is similar to that a 1:45 type thing. (includes a few hcs.)
  — "Living humans are divided into two groups, yes? There are children of light. Those destined to walk under the bright sun. Those people do well in all hardships of life. They have dear humans who they want to return to. Even in the darkest hour, they can feel the warmth of their loved ones in their heart and gain extra courage from that.” - Pocketcat
Obviously The Girl is a child of light since it’s stated in-game by the New Gods. A pure child, a blank slate birthed from the darkest pits of human creation. The literal embodiment of fear and hunger, a small light shrouded in darkness without even a glimmer of hope. A child who's been robbed of love;the first kind gesture she ever received was being freed from a cage by a man who smiled at her like she wasn't a horrific monster. Yet despite all her hesitation she slowly finds herself gaining comfort in his presence, enough to scrounge a little closer and find herself enjoying the sound his voice,a man that never stop talking even tho she doesn't speak back, doesn't quite understand why he shares his food with her yet gobbles it down before he can try taking it back the second she realises its safe to eat. And then he gifts her the doll. And she's not really sure what to do or what all these overwhelming feelings inside are but the raggedy thing never leaves her side as she trails him like a moth to flame.
Cahara's a child of light, he burns slow and soft. A little flicker of light in the darkness that'll last in the wind because it has the fuel to keep going and can light up other people. He’s a people person, a social butterfly who people are drawn to and ends up making connections wherever he goes. Despite everything he's been through and all the horrors and harsh realities of life he's faced, he's still able to find joy and a love for life. Quite literally one the only thing holding the group together and reason half these people even start to tolerate each other.
“Hooo~ you do? This is the most surprising! I feel like so many people lose the sight of happiness once they grow out of their naive little views of the world they had as younglings. But perhaps it is possible to feel like that, even as someone as old as you.” - Pocketcat
Ragnvaldr’s a child light. He burns bright and fast like a strip of magnesium, his light comes in bursts. Rage comes as quick as it goes and isn't a reliable source of fuel but shines so bright when it burns it almost hurts to witness.
His light’s too hot to get close to when he's burning, and therefore it doesn't get 'shared' before it's gone unlike Cahara’s who serves to light others over coaxing his own flame. Yet despite losing his family he still carries the love his people held for him in his heart, letting it fuel his fire even though he knows he'll never be able to return to them. Yet despite losing his family, Ragnvaldr still carries their memories alive in his heart and never loses sight of the happiness that was robbed from him so instead he keeps their spirits close while he seeks vengeance.
It's for that same reason The Girl and Ragnvaldr are both attracted to and seek out light despite being lights of their own. They both require others to fuel their flame and keep them afloat vs someone whose light is soft and nurturing more like Cahara’s, whose light draws others towards him. Is bright enough to warm your hands in the midst of a cold winter’s storm yet too weak to spark the light of rebellion and bring about change in the world.
“In the opposite end of the spectrum, there are children of darkness. Those humans are often driven to depression and sorrow because of life's peculiar ways. But they have learned how to live with those feelings. In fact, they have grown to love the ever-pressing darkness within. Those humans are able to draw energy from darkness, they are not dependent on other people. They only need darkness, their old friend. So, humans of light and darkness... Which one are you?” - Pocketcat
It's how D'arce can be born with a silver spoon in her mouth and want for nothing as she gets older, pursuing what she thinks is her dream, leaving behind her luxurious life and continuing to strive higher and higher for her 'goals' – only to constantly be miserable despite it all. No matter what she gains or what she gives up, just never being satisfied, feeling like she's stagnating and making nothing herself despite all the accolades and medals and milestones she's achieved.
It's the same reason Enki can be born in darkness, wanting nothing more then the endless pursuit of knowledge – forced to eat his younger siblings, forced to claw his way out of a well, forced to eat bugs in order to survive, forced to backstab his twin sister, only ever finding twisted satisfaction in a rare moment of joy when he burns his family and the place he once called home into ash – feels so comfortable drowned in misery.
They’re both on completely different ends the moral and social spectrum, yet they both closed off their hearts to the world and poured themselves into their own goals. A way to close off their feelings and shut away from the rest of the world. They both just sorta look at Cahara and Ragnvaldr smiling, laughing and simply ,,,,enjoying existing in each other's company. And they just kinda stare in disbelief at this light in front of them, almost unable to actually believe what they're actually seeing, let alone comprehend how they're even able to exist so freely in a place like this. It doesn't make sense. They're all trapped in this horrific hellscape of a dungeon with strangers they've never met, barely surviving the passing hours with their mess of skill sets and feeble attempts to hold onto whatever draining sense of morality and justice they had before coming down here. And yet these two are smiling and cracking jokes. Talking like they'd been friends for years even though they barely know each other. they just seem so ,,, so,,, bright. no matter how much Enki and D’arce become familiar with the sight, they feel like they're intruding on something; they shouldn't be allowed to see this.
It's something they've already come to terms within their own lives, after all. It's a feeling people like them don't need. They don't deserve it. Yet. something about the sight is just so warm and comforting they can’t quite bring themselves to tear their eyes from it.
“Since you were a child of darkness, I imagine you agree when I say that we don't get the luxury of happiness. We only know brief joy every now and then, but even that is getting more rare every day.” - Pocketcat
Considering how both Enki and Ragnvaldr kinda blur the line a bit when it comes to their actions and motives; how Ragnvaldr can be argued to go 'darker' while enki goes 'lighter' despite their soul compositions (in my amazing  awful timeline of events at least.)
It’s how D'arce, a knight of one the most prestigious and well respected groups in the kingdom, borne of nobility, who grew up comfortably, never having to scrape by is constantly shaped in misery and loneliness, can never truly happy no matter how high she climbs in the world vs Cahara having known nothing but constant suffering and struggles, is still able to be happy and smile with people he cares for and find people that love him despite their line of work or less than fortunate situation. He's able to befriend people in every corner of the world he travels to; there's people who care for him and want to be around him. Even though he's experienced the hardship of life first hand he's still able to look at the world with just so much love for life and she just doesn't get how. D’arce just mystified by watching the fact that two men she knows, born into poverty or into nothing at all, scraping by, living minimal, nomadic, no stable environment or home - for Cahara, nobody to call his own until adulthood - just completely shocked by the fact that they can both smile, joke and seem to be just. happy. content with what they've managed to make for themselves.
And it's not as if D'arce hasnt made anything of herself; she’s clearly put in a lot of effort to get to where she is even if she came from an advantageous background, she had family, she had friends (singular, Le'garde, so maybe ok not even 1 friend but shhh),,, has no idea what she did wrong or what she's doing wrong to continue being so miserable in life.
They all have blood on their hands but she’s yet to realise the cause of it is what makes them different from each other.
Doesn't get how Cahara can sit there and joke about the other ways he made cash to get by when he was younger with a smile on his face. Or how Ragnvalder can sit there and laugh at Cahara horrible jokes after losing everything he’s ever held dear. The way they can chatter on about nothing for hours at a time or talk about their partners with just so much love in their voices knowing they'll probably never see them again. (Maybe even wondering if someone will ever talk about her like that with just so much shear adoration in their voice and this ‘swept off their feet’ look in their eyes, but also i can see that not even crossing her mind at the same time )
Enki and D’arce just sat there a lil bewildered watching the first people they've ever seen be genuinely happy in their lives even though they have almost nothing to their name, have lost everything and yet they can still smile and laugh with each other in a place like this???
They are just so confused by rag&cahara’s chemistry because they themselves don't know how to utilise humour and light-heartedness as ways to cope with the tragedy in their lives, having chosen to instead turn their focuses outward. For example, enlightenment and study & knighthood and an entire other persona, as a way to distract themselves from the struggles in their lives and unintentionally bring the focus away from their internal darkness.
It's also interesting to observe the parallels of duos such as Enki&Cahara and D'arce&Rag to, since Cahara serves to kind of draw people out of their shells and show them light, while Ragnvaldr's light could be seen as something turned into heat and ignite the spark of retribution and spur on the need to go on. While it doesn't make D'arce and Ragnvaldr very close, I can see how it would maybe inspire something in her and propel her forward in times of discouragement. (Whether that's out of admiration for rags ability to be able to still go on after everything thats happend or if it’s from the desire to find Le’gard before Rag fucking gets him☠️is up to you.)
Cahara’s used to sneaking around even though he's very bright, and so resorts to coaxing and persuasion, whereas Ragnvaldr is very obviously used to being a leader figure and just kind of 'shines' on people. I'm not sure how well those methods obviously work on people like Enki and D'arce (lowkey think they might be more beneficial if they swapped, but that's just makes the fact i tend to default to enki&cahara + d’arce&rag funnier), but the fact that they're watching it happen at all is so rare for them let alone the horrifying moment that occurs for the two of them when they realise they actually enjoying having these idiots around (each other included).
(This awful epiphany mainly applies to Enki. He’d rather be sacrificed again then admit he cares for any of these idiots, nevermind Cahara specifically. I don't think it really hits D’arce until they’re out of the dungeon if they make it and she doesn't have their company anymore.)
After all, the world was cruel to them so they became cruel back. That  probably affects the way they’d view/interact with Cahara/Rag. Enki especially would have a hard time trying to grasp how they are both able to be so,,,happy,, after going through so much, considering the fact he also went through hell and thus chose to close his heart to the world. Yet here he is, watching these two men who have come from nothing and lost everything who have been nothing but repeatedly wronged by life, talk about how beautiful it is and he just. Doesn't. Get. It. He went through abandonment, being pit against his own sibling to see who deserved to still breath in their parents eyes. He had to resort to more than questionable things in order to survive, he stabbed his own sister in the back and burnt his parents alive after crawling out the pit they tried to bury him in. Hell, he had to eat his own siblings/bugs for crying out loud. and the way he went about it makes sense to him. He's protecting himself. He's putting his interests into unemotional things that can't lash out and hurt him again - things that he can safely invest time and effort into, knowing it will fulfil him in some way, without the pressure of it having to impress someone or be worthy enough to try to seek praise from those around him. It's totally protective, wanting to keep himself from that same hurt, wanting to become powerful and knowledgeable enough to keep himself from being hurt ever again. Right?
It's almost a childish but at the same time totally jaded, adult-ified view of what he probably wanted as a child. Bitter and spiteful since all the while, and hell even his necro tendencies probably have something to do with wanting to be in control of and listened to by something for once in his life.
He most likely also shares a lot of The Girl's wonder in the fact that, despite all the awful shit that's happened and the terrible place they're in now, Cahara and Ragnvaldr are taking a good damn while to break under the darkness that's trying to eat them alive. And even if it's terrible how it manifests, could even argue that Ragnvaldr hallucinating his wife is him retreating back to a better time full of light to cope, similar to Cahara constantly going "oh, this is how i used to gain money, its nothing new lol” when Enki tries to beat around the bush and ask if Cahara’s even okay with,,,, this and just ends up being an answer he's not really sure how he feels about.
Enki: how do you do that Cahara: do what ? Enki: just,,, exist, and seem happy about it Cahara: well, existing is quite a beautiful thing, wouldn't you agree ? Enki: Cahara internally: [he doesn't know that finding worth in life is pointless] vs
D'arce: how do you do that Ragnvaldr: do what? D'arce: keep going onward despite the weight of everything youve lost Ragnvaldr: i've been freed of the binds that kept me from avenging them, that's how D'arce: Ragnvaldr internally: [she doesn't know that weight will stay forever]
ldk why but I really like the idea of them all having similar views but completely opposite interpretations of something. They're all looking at the exact same sunset but seeing something entirely different, both affected by their light and darkness alignments but also just their individual life experiences that shaped their world views.
I can't find it rn but also there's some dialogue from Nosramus about seeing him in the dark; if you’re playing as Cahara/Ragnvaldr, it's a simple “oh your the person from ealier”. but if you’re playing as D’arce/Enki; the response is “the one creeping around in the shadow ealier” witch makes me giggle cuz ofc those 2 be finding comfort in the shadows and scrurrying around like rats in it
“Hooo~! Very good, very good. I love honest words, even when they hurt me. I say that now... But I'm probably going to feel really awful later on. But don't you worry about that. Really. I have grown to love this feeling of being rejected.”
-Pocketcat
Bonus Daan mention :
Daan’s a child darkness both in how it paroles the girl as children destined for greatness by the gods + both more attracted to “Light”(eg elise & cahara both children light & attract others 2 them) like moths 2 a flame then actually attract people to him
Being a child of darknesses also link him 2 fagcat + part the reason pocketcats so interested in the fact “someone like him” was chosen by the gods(much 2 daans dismay)
hes is literally drowning in misery. Thinks of his life as a curse he's forced 2 live threw with the thought things could be different/better ever crossing his mind
Much like d’arce &enki never rly know the feeling of being loved & wanted baring teh short time he was with his wife (rip elies)
He has never known a peaceful happy day, mans just straight up NOT ALLOWED nice things & those he has get ripped away from him in the cruellest ways possible & having said lost thing repeatedly rubbed in his face (eg dead wife ,her coming back as stitches + fagcat never letting him know peace )

Ok genuinely I’m having actual thoughts about @mazeeque ‘s yuri version of iwtv. In roughly chronological order:
Before we begin, please note that (A) with one exception, everyone but Louis, Lestat, Daniel and Armand are their canon genders, (B) I’ve only read the first two books so far, and (C) there’s a certain amount of “well, the plot still needs to happen." No matter what, the basic sequence of events starting with Lestat and Louis meeting and ending with the book being published still happens.
Also before we start, names! Louis is easiest, he just becomes Louise. Lestat is a made up name, she could still be Lestat. But, Lestette is so dumb it makes me laugh, so that's what we'll go with. Daniel becoming Danielle is the most straightforward, but it doesn't feel right somehow. Dana feels righter, Diane feels rightest. She went by Dani when she was young, hates being called Di. Her first husband called her Di.
Speaking of feeling right, I have no idea what to call Armand. The birth name is easy enough, apparently Aruna is not the feminine form of Arun, Arun is the masculine form of Aruna. But the other names? Much trickier. They can't just sound kind of like Amadeo/Armand, they need to feel similar. If you'll grant me some leeway, the Old Spanish form of Amadeo, Amadis, works for me, despite being masculine name. In mythology, Amadis was the lover of Oriana, and so: Amadeo -> Amadis, Armand -> Ariana.
Sadly, Armand’s pre-Paris backstory changes very little. Ariana modeled a whitewashed shepherdess, not shepherd. Probably posed as the Virgin Mary a bunch. Vampires in this world aren’t immune to cultural prejudices, but, with point C taken into account, she is still sent to lead the Paris Coven. The feminine form of maître is maîtresse.
Let's be real (and go a little out of order). A Santiago under the command of a woman is a Santiago that is ten times worse than in canon. They fuck and he is flabbergasted and emasculated that it didn’t completely change her entire personality.
Lestette joins a convent as a child, just like how Lestat joined a monastery. As we all know, Lestat’s father forcibly dragged him home, and then his mother made him a hunter. Would that happen here? The reason that Lestat’s father did that is that the De Lioncourts are too poor to bribe Lestat into high church office, but too proud to let him be a normal monk. Would they feel the same about letting their daughter be a normal nun? I tentatively say no. Especially when you consider that this rids them of a mouth to feed and a dowry to scrounge up. Lestette remains in the convent, but grows more and more bored and trapped the closer she gets to actually taking her vows. Just like Lestat, she eventually successfully runs away to Paris to become an actress.
This is where "The plot needs to still happen" shows up again. We have to assume that Magnus still becomes obsessed with her, despite her not being a man with a certain look and body type. We have to assume that she and Nicki run off together, despite that Lestette wouldn’t be allowed to hang out alone with a man and Nicki’s backstory couldn’t happen if he was a woman. And, we have to assume that Lestette and Gabrielle still have their Very Special Relationship, despite Lestette no longer being Gabrielle's idealized male form.
Let's say that whatever drove Magnus is now different. Let's say that Nicole de Lenfent was sent to Lestette's convent, to study but not take vows. And let's say that Gabrielle and Lestette remain close, with Lestette now literate and able to write letters. Gabrielle might even move to the convent or a nearby town as well, such things happened. Lestette and Gabrielle are still weird, just with slightly less gender this time. Not none though, there’s still single woman in a man-free environment vs conventional wife and mother to deal with.
There is sadly no Wolfkiller Incident, unless we really want to reach. And maybe we do.
(Incognito trained in secret master huntress Lestette. Let's talk about it)
No real big changes for Lestette's vampire life, so let's move on to:
Louise de Pointe du Lac. Oh, Louise. If pre-turning Louis is conformity first, personal happiness fifth, then Louise is conformity first, personal happiness fifteenth.
While Louis was able to save his family by getting into unsavory businesses, what can Louise do? We do see madames in the show, but it's clear that it's a middle management role, with less money and respect than being an owner. Would Louise even be allowed to buy a brothel outright? If she did, would anyone respect her, even the level of respect they give Louis? The family might not like to talk about where the money comes from, but it hasn't made them pariahs. Would it still be the same if a Du Lac woman was involved in shady business?
And none of that is touching marriage. There's some vague talk of Louis getting married someday soon, but he was allowed to make it to his thirties single. Would the same be true for Louise?
I see two basic possibilities. One, we stick as close to canon as we can. Louise de Pointe du Lac is an old maid business woman. It’s possible she uses Paul as a smoke screen. She drags him around and everyone maintains the polite fiction that he’s in charge. Well, everyone but Paul. Paul is not happy about this arrangement. His main duty is allowing Louise to forge his signature on documents. Neither of them are allowed to the Dipshit Poker nights.
Option number two, Louise gets a head start on being an unhappy housewife. To save her family, she was married off to some rich asshole as a young woman. She could run circles around him and they both know it, but they’re stuck in their miserable roles. Louise becomes the ‘It’s not cheating with a woman’ lady.
In option one, Jonah and Lily swap roles. Louise makes sure to talk about Jonah as her Great Lost Love, her One That Got Away, the man she is so heartbroken over she can never love again. She then sneaks off to fuck Lily in secret.
Option two has the potential for kids. Oh God kids. Either she doesn’t have any, with all the implications for her social standing and psyche, or she does and she basically abandons them when she turns. Either way, her relationship with Claudia is somehow even more fucked up.
Last but not least, Dani Molloy. We’re leaving the first wave and entering the second. Diane is allowed to be a tough, no-nonsense, well-respected journalist. She’s not allowed to be all that and a former drug addict with a personal life in shambles. I mean, she still is, but she has to keep it a secret. She might still publish a memoir in her untouchable old age, but she spent most of her career dodging any and all personal questions.
Her author bio is ‘Born 1953. Lives in New York. Likes black coffee.’
To be clear, Diane does not have any more of her shit together than Daniel. But, to get the kind of work she wants to do, there’s this façade of hyper-competent professional she has to put up that Daniel doesn’t. Like, Dani’s at-home wardrobe is the same as Daniel’s. Her at-work wardrobe is tailored business wear, hair done, full face of makeup, etc.
It makes her post turning transformation all the sweeter.
PS. Fashion! I’m not saying that there were no changes to menswear over the show’s time period, but fundamentally it was one kind of suit to another kind of suit. We got a lot more to work with here. Ariana and Lestette go through the bob era with hair long enough to sit on. Louise stops wearing dresses the second it is not literally illegal for her to wear pants. Ariana started wearing pants about two decades before that. They both still call pants ‘slacks.’

post-canon politics between nahyuta rayfa and amara (ostensibly still part of the same system that got so corrupt in the first place, govt, i am infinitely annoyed that nahyuta is prince regent GET him out of there) and datz and apollo (not blood related, free agents, outcasts really...) the nahyuta whos still, despite everything, not fully integrated. will there ever be a consolidation of his family? NOT REALLY! it cant happen! and dhurke is gone. dhurke was the stronger glue keeping everyone together.
it drives me crazyyy.
cus to me datz is still a rebel, the defiant dragons still exist. i know enough about rebel groups to know that they carry on, and even if they didnt, i can't fathom datz being on board with any govt ever LMFAO so oh well. yeah ga'ran is gone but there's ga'ran loyalists and there's fragmented groups and unrest... displaced families... blah blah. ok. my point is datz, fundamentally, i think, will always be at odds with the powers that be.
which puts him at odds with nahyuta and amara and rayfa. which sucks really bad for them, right? well i guess rayfa dgaf and amara and datz's relationship is complicated, but nahyuta... that's his boy....
and with apollo, who did stay in khura'in specifically bc nahyuta held on, i think, apollo will always feel discordant in khura'in bc it's not his home now oh well. furthermore No one knows abt apollo or his history with nahyuta, really, except nahyuta and datz and apollo! his connection is even more tenuous than datz's! dhurke is gone so apollo's strongest connection to khura'in is gone...
suppose something happened to nahyuta, right. he's prince regent and something bad happens. who's getting in to see him? amara and rayfa, of course, but if datz and apollo showed up, two random scrounges, it's unlikely they'd get let in at all, unless amara could vouch for them...
she has to be the authority of, yes, these two are part of nahyuta's family...
it will always feel like, to me, nahyuta is locked away from the people he grew up with, on the side of the govt. and that's so fucked.. of course amara and rayfa are just as important to him, is the thing! and that's WHY its so fucked! there can't be integration. datz would never join the side of the govt, and apollo surely wouldn't.. but amara and rayfa surely can never leave, either, nor would they.
it's the contrast between yuty's rebel life vs his royal background... born a noble, you know? a thing that for AGES was only a weird technicality, bc he was raised among rebels in the mountains... the only reason it came up was due to the fact that it would make nahyuta a higher profile target... "*technically* he's a prince.. but that's all, right?
except now he IS the prince[regent] so it's like. crazy. it's crazy. its all crazy. can anyone hear me?does this make sense? i think abt the datz post-canon who knows, bc he's not stupid, that the govt will mess up again, and things will get bad again, and he's going to have to go against nahyuta again... im crying GET NAHYUTA OUT OF THEREEE QUIT YOUR JOB IM SO SERIOUS

Question, for the SM AU, later one after Ash meets Goh, was there ever a time when Goh found out about King (mew form assuming he knows King's human form)
Eventually they do, But its after Ash basically drills into them that they are NOT allowed to just chuck a pokeball and expect the pokemon to be fine with it.
Basically forcing Goh to battle, a Pokemons way of accepting the cost of a potential capture, vs just chucking and hoping the Shock allows a capture to occur.
King is still Ash's baby, so he is *extra* vicious when Goh so much as raises a pokeball.
And at First, Goh is so incredibly put off and hurt about Ash's response. They eventually do realize that Ash was like that with everyone, almost fistfighting Iris at one point when her pokeball strayed too close to his sons (it was an accident)
They dont find out Kings backstory, just that he's Ash's baby and that's that.
"Wait, you can have babies?"
And that sparks an entirely different conversation, in which Peach sits them down and lectures them for about an hour about the biology of twos that she's managed to scrounge together.
Goh is more confused than ever before.

Your post about unfollowing people who’re really combative online made me think about someone in particular. Apologies if this is out of nowhere so feel free to ignore.
If somebody (with thousands of followers) who isn’t a part of a specific marginalised group habitually seeks out bad takes regarding them to dunk on, isn’t that a little weird? I’m not talking about defending your friends when they’re facing discrimination or dunking on the main bigot character of the day, but regularly seeking out bad takes from small accounts that’d otherwise never seen the light of day.
It’s nobody on here I’m referencing. I feel a little crazy because this person gets heralded as a huge ally and has a lot of people in this marginalised group who’re really devoted to and defensive of them but it just really rubs me the wrong way because they seem really discourse-brained more than anything else.
yeah haha ironically i think some of the ppl on that post are seriously missing the point (which i probably could have made clearer) in terms of some of them are like. people who clearly think being told they're racist is the same as the type of behavior i'm talking about.
but also yes! this is more what i meant- people who are seeking out fights with those who would otherwise never get any attention! especially when it's takes that are NOT popular or the response is just totally disproportionate. or just building a social media brand off of over-exaggerated hatred/meanness towards people who "deserve it". it reminds me of all the cis people on here who constantly reblog shit about like... putting terfs in meat grinders but then never even lift a finger (or, more likely, are part of the mob) when trans women are sexually harassed or viciously bullied.
i don't think joking about harming bigots is some grand moral wrong, but it's often just gratuitous in a way where... are you actually expressing outrage or are you using the performance of outrage to get followers? what if that outrage is directly putting people in danger (e.g, if you find a terf with 45 followers + start sending her death threats, is that helping anyone or is it potentially provoking more violence, which you know full well you will NOT be the primary target of). i can see how this behavior can result in members of certain groups defending you, because if nobody has shown their willingness to defend you, isn't it refreshing to see someone who will? it's not so simple, either, cuz i do think ppl who do this do CARE, but i'm not sure the way that they care is sustainable or would hold up to a real, complex situation where allyship is needed.
it's so contextual + i'm not arrogant enough to pretend like i'm the one who can see the context right 100% of the time. this is a little sappy but i feel like the difference is whether the root of the anger is love/hope or if its fulfilling your own desire to lash out/release tension/look good. like "i'm pissed because i care about my trans siblings + it hurts me to see them treated this way + nobody else is saying shit for them so i'm stepping up" vs "raging online meets a need in me that i'm not willing to acknowledge + here's the perfect target". not exactly that simple but sometimes u can tell someone would be a kiwifarms bro if they didn't need social capital from a different crowd, ykwim (which btw we regularly learn that certain leftists will comb through + disseminate kiwifarms shit if it fits their vibe, which is an automatic red flag to me that you only care about drama, not morals)
it reminds me of how some "callouts" are clearly written with the intention of preventing harmful people from maintaining the power to do more harm (e.g x popular artist sexts underage fans) while many others are clearly written with glee about someone turning out to be Bad (e.g x popular artist has a private twitter that i, op, SCROUNGED to find, where they say horny things about genshin impact characters)
