Yax, the How and Why:
Part 1: Why do people ship them?
Decided it was time I put together all my thoughts about why I think Yax works particularly well as a ship, and what they all bring to the table.
There's a lot to talk about here, and I'm going to try and hit at least all my big points. I'm also going to be looking at them from the standpoint of Goof Troop, and A Goofy movie, as well as the Og Animaniacs and reboot, Wakkos Wish, (even though that's out of universe for animaniacs) comics, and even the toys.
This is about to get really long, so I'll put it under a read more.
From a personality standpoint, they compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses so well.
Max is earnest and honest. He always has been.
From Goof troop where he wants so badly to do good things, and goes immediately to an adult when he messes up, to A Goofy Movie, where he goes so far to impress the people around him, to his want to do a good job in House of mouse. It's a constant whenever we see him on screen.
Max has seen a lot of growth through his shows and movies, but he's also been consistent. Goofy has clearly done an incredible job raising Max. Max is pretty open about his emotions. He doesn't hide them from his friends or family. There's a level of vulnerability that comes from that, and despite being bullied and picked on, he knows who he is, it only become a matter of insecurity getting other people to see that.
In A Goofy Movie, he doesn't worry about being good enough for roxanne. He says with conviction that "after today, she'll be mine". He doesn't doubt his own abilities. He's confident in what he does, and what he knows he's good at, like skateboarding.
Max is dramatic, he's flamboyant and a show off. He has made himself the center of attention on purpose before; as long as it's something he's well versed in and is confident he can impress with, he thrives. He loves to have that positive attention from big crowds. It pushes him forward.
He is also, and this is very important, a troublemaker.
He always has been, and not just in a well meaning sense.
In Goof Troop, he shows that he's the scheming type, he's the type to cause problems on purpose, just because it's fun. It's often the problem or the solution to several episodes.
Just like the Warners.
Now, these are never super harmful, he's a good kid at his core. He's kind and patient and understands his mistakes, but he's an absolute menace. He would have no trouble fitting in with patented Warner antics.
This next point is talked about a lot.
Max's issues and insecurities make for a fantastic story of growth with Yakko and his siblings. He's worried about being laughed at, at people hearing his laugh (something that is the best part of individuals and their expression of self) and worries about what other people think of it. This issue of his hits against Yakko's need to make people laugh.
They're complimentary. They're foils to each other.
Yakko is similar, but because of how he grew up, and the role he was forced into, he mirrors Max's traits as well.
Yakko is sarcastic, he undercuts a lot of sincerity with humor or hides it behind a veil of snark. He hides his feelings for fear of backlash. Unlike Max, who has his emotions on his sleeve, and has been encouraged to feel them openly from a young age.
Yakko's not able to be so open emotionally, because doing so has gotten both him and his siblings hurt.
Yakko is smart. He's tactical where Max is emotional. He schemes as well, as the spearhead and leader of the zany trio, but he sees more angles than Max does.
He does it out of self preservation in ADDITION to doing it to be a menace and for fun. He's the mastermind of the group, just like Max is to his own group. They're both the snarky personas. Yakko wants, NEEDS to make people laugh, his self worth is tied to it, it's what he was made to do. It's a source of anxiety for him, but also a source of joy. We've seen several instances of moments where Yakko falls back on his "Nations of the World" song, because he wants to make a good impression. We also have evidence of him stressing about his ability to perform in his sleep.
Being able to tell exactly how others are feeling helps Yakko pivot his plans and react in line to the antagonist. He has a hard time being sincere sometimes, prefers to keep himself protected.
But he also craves attention. Loves to be at the center of it, loves it more when it's something he's passionate in or prides himself with.
His jokes, his wit, his singing. His ability to sing and speak tongue twisters that nobody else can. All things he's confident in.
Yakko's strengths lie more in his mind, as opposed to Max's physical capabilities.
Together, they create a dynamic duo of mischief, being people with similar senses of humor, (we have seen both Yakko and Max tell almost identical jokes)they make each other laugh.
With strong senses of justice, they both aren't afraid to bring out the schemes on "special friends", or on people who deserve it; we see that a lot in Goof Troop.
Max is used to havoc. He's closely acquainted with it, he's been doing Goof Luck damage control since he was a small child, constantly being pushed to take the wheel of his dad's mishaps, sometimes very literally.
He would fit in seamlessly to the Warner's adventures, egg them on or do damage control. He's perfectly suited to fill in the space where he's needed, like a liquid changing shape to its container.
They're two sides of the same coin. They are opposites but they support each others weaknesses.
The emotional openness vs. The guarded emotions.
The need to make people laugh vs. The need to not show his laugh.
The physical vs. mental strengths.
Together, they gain inner and outer strength. They'll have someone to confide in, someone with much different upbringings and experiences than their own. Both in and out of universe.
But that's not really all there is to it, is there?
No, because family is so integral to both of their characters, we can't really talk about how good Yax is, and why it works, without talking about Goofy, Wakko, and Dot.
Yakko would never date someone, or even be friends with someone if they didn't like his siblings. Not just get along, like.
The Warners are "All for one, and one for all times 3". There is no talking about such a major change to the Warner dynamic without addressing every Warner, because they're affected too.
Dot and Wakko need someone to be friends with outside of themselves. They need familiarity and kindness.
Who better to open the Warner's to a kinder life, than a toon from a company all about the power of familial and romantic love? The themes that surround Max and Goofy(as well as many other Disney's), are exactly the kind of thing that those kids need the most.
Wakko and Dot need to have love that comes from the outside. Love from a parental figure who isn't their older brother, and love from a real friend, someone who cares about them who they aren't related to and can talk through issues they may otherwise be uncomfortable talking to their siblings about. The Warners are closer than any siblings that have or will ever exist, but there's still some things that are easier to talk about with a third party.
With Goofy, (someone who knows how to raise a kid, and what they would need to thrive) the Warners can finally, just be kids.
Yakko being happy is a the big part, but having the Warners brought into the Disney family by Goofy Goof, the man with so much understanding and love to give, who GETS kids, and has always let Max be a kid and help him through it?
It would help all three of them lean on outside help.
His appearance through Yakko and Max knowing each other, gives the Warners a positive adult figure in their lives who will be there to support them instead of criticize them for being "too much".
Yax isn't JUST about Yakko and Max, it's about the connections these kids make beyond the studio lot.
The connections that start with the eldest himself opening up. Start with Yakko overcoming that fear of rejection and letting people in.
It's about learning the world around them isn't just filled with people who want them locked up.
It's also about Max having someone who can match his energy. Max already has some friends who let him be himself and are wonderful people , but The Warners open up a different side of Max that can allow him to show that freer, mischievous side and have fun in that same way he had enjoyed in Goof Troop. He's allowed to revel in it, instead of worrying about stressing out his friends by getting them in on the antics.
The world is also filled with people who embrace their weirdness and energy, and who will guide them.
Even if you just like yax as friends, it's easy to see the potential and benefits
The Warners and the Goofs, to have lives grow richer.
And more, with them being from separate companies, their worldview would be able to grow to incorporate new ideas and thoughts.
The Warners aren't very open with their emotions, so a father son duo who have always been open and communicative would be able to show them the benefits of doing so themselves.
Plus, watching the Warner Siblings wreak havoc with a smile, hurting no innocents, would be exactly the type of thing to make Max smile in turn.
They deserve each other, deserve kindness and acceptance. ALL of these kids do. And every single one of them get that through Yax.
Plus, through Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Yakko and Max exist within the same universe. They're so close. It's not a stretch to see them interact and understand each other.
Now, there's a lot more to talk about. How it came to be, and how the shipping climate and the timing of the original shows allowed for this to line up to happen.
So look out for that in Part 2, featuring an interview with the person who started it all.

SEMIFINALS: Megaman (Megaman)/Pit (Kid Icarus) VS Huey Duck (Ducktales 2017)/Wakko Warner (Animaniacs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda for Megaman/Pit:
This ask, which includes the art used in the bracket image!
Oh my god. This one came immediately to mind. Idk how big the ship is now, but I remember like seeing it everywhere back when Super Smash Bros Ultimate was like popular on Tumblr/Twitter. I think it was originally a crackship cause both of them were in Captain N (a cartoon), but it’s like a serious thing now. Literally all it took was one interaction between them (there’s like dialogue you can get if you do some combination when you play as Pit) which is just Pit gushing about Mega Man. It’s cute. And honestly kind of iconic
#MEGAPIT ?? good for them #go back in time and tell kid me the ship he came up with on a whim would be in a tumblr bracket :'3
#megapit sweep!

More art! With an unwanted visitor.
Propaganda for Huey Duck/Wakko Warner:
Huey and Wakko are classic opposite attrack characters, while also touches of "you're drawn to people who remind you of your family" thrown in. They're both very autistic coded characters (because their shows are cowards and refuse to say the word) but in opposite ways. Wakko is very outside of the norm where as Huey holds himself to a strict set of rules. While Huey adds a bit of routine to Wakko's life, Wakko encourages Huey to cut back, go outside of his comfort zone at his own pace and also relax a little. Wakko reminds Huey of both his siblings, excitable and dramatic like Dewey, and laid back (compared to his siblings) and mischevious like Louie, where as Huey reminds Wakko of his own siblings. A bit more uptight and bratty like Dot, and intelligent and encouraging like Yakko. They also bring out different sides of each other, Wakko can be gross and messy and Huey somehow finds it charming, and Huey can help Wakko see that he's intelligent and creative in his own ways rather than being outshined by his own siblings. They both also have anger issues, and Wakko would be great at helping Huey to feel his anger rather than always keeping it hidden away. He makes Huey feel seen and heard and taken care of because Huey doesn't have to be the Older BrotherTM around Wakko. Basically just opposites attract autistic kids who help each other come into one another.
#yall need to vote for my baby angels #wakko/huey sweep #please #they deserve it #their shows treated them awfully

If these magic paintbrushes could make portals and butterflies (and food, courtesy of Wakko) it only stood to reason they could make other stuff, right? Stuff like clothes for a masked ball.
It was Dot’s idea. She grabbed her brush and painted a brand new ballgown onto the wall of their tower. It was a soft pink with lace trim, patterned with tiny daisies on the sleeves. The whole dress shimmered like it had been coated in glitter. All in all, it was a dress that screamed Dot Warner. Giggling, Dot bounced right into the painting.
There was bright pink light, and Dot was suddenly wearing the dress. With a flourish, she painted a diamond tiara for herself and placed it on her head, grinning.
“Not bad if I say so myself,” she said proudly, hands on her hips.
“Faboo!” Wakko agreed, giving her two thumbs up. He looked at his own paintbrush and pouted. “Hm...” A lightbulb appeared above his head; Wakko snatched it down and chewed it absentmindedly.
“Any ideas?” Yakko asked him.
“I think...Oh! I got it!” Wakko painted all over himself frantically, leaving trails of blue light everywhere, flashing across their room and completely hiding Wakko from view.
When the glowing faded, they were greeted to an odd sight: Wakko wore a bonnet like Little Bo Peep; his suit was two sizes too big, patterned with flowers, butterflies and hamburgers. His tie was an offensive shade of neon green.
“Ta-da!”
“No,” Dot said flatly. Yakko bit his fist to keep from cackling. A tiny choked laugh escaped despite his best efforts.
“Aww...” Wakko sulked, but Dot grabbed him and painted over his...Um...Ensemble.
“It was a good idea,” Yakko lied, lips twitching as he still fought his laughter. “Just, uuuuhhhh...A little bit much, bro.”
“It was hideous,” Dot huffed. “I simply can’t be seen in public with you looking like that.”
The outfit Dot summoned for Wakko was more fitting for a masked ball: a midnight blue suit (she’d even painted tiny stars all over it that shone like the real ones in the sky) with a silver tie. To appease Wakko, she painted him a big red badge shaped like a lollipop.
“Ooh!” Wakko grinned at his reflection in the mirror, bouncing in place. “I like it!”
“Your turn, Yak!” Dot turned to him with an excited gleam in her eyes. “You wanna impress your ‘friend,’ right?”
Yakko was not blushing at the thought of the toon-boy they’d met, no sir. The strange, bumbling and incredibly sweet guy who let out a loud “Hyuk!” when he laughed and readily agreed to help Yakko, Wakko and Dot search for clues about their parents. He’d been the one to invite them to this ball in the first place.
“I’ll find you later,” he promised.
“But we’ll all be wearing masks,” Yakko pointed out.
Their new friend’s grin softened. He took Yakko’s hand and said, “I don’t think there’s any chance of missing you, Yakko.”
Yeah. There was that. Man, crushes were weird. Exciting, but weird.
Smiling, Yakko turned to the mirror and got to work. He tried to imagine the very best outfit he could, remembering all the fairytales he and his little siblings had read over the years. He thought of all the illustrations of balls and banquets, and let the magic paintbrush do its job.
The light was almost blinding but, when it faded, Yakko was wearing a brand new outfit: a long purple coat patterned with gold, black slacks, a soft lavender shirt and a black tie with tiny flecks of gold on it.
Smiling, Dot tapped her paintbrush against his shoulder, and his coat suddenly glimmered like her dress and Wakko’s suit.
“There,” she said happily. “We all match.”
Yakko grinned and pulled Dot and Wakko into a tight hug. They were getting out of here. They were really leaving and, this time, they weren’t coming back. They’d never have to see this tower or Salazar again.
Maybe they’d even find their parents after all.
And, as soon as Yakko saw that boy again, he could finally ask his name without fear of Salazar hurting him.
“This is gonna be the best night ever,” Yakko promised his siblings. “Just you wait.”

In celebration of the Animaniacs reboot’s THIRD season coming out soon…
I’m going to list a few things I think the second season of the reboot does better than the first. Here we go:
1. It gave Nora some much needed development. She gets more screen time in general this season, and because of that her character is more fleshed out now. We find out she's a mother and despite the fact that she had previously been established as selfish in season 1, she buys her daughter whatever she wants to compensate for her lack of parenting skills. That doesn't necessarily make her a good mother, but she's clearly trying.
Tumblr media
We also find out the reason why Nora's a competitive person and why she mostly only looks out for herself-her upbringing. We're shown that her sisters often belittle and mock her. Not only that but her sisters are twins, so Nora undoubtedly felt like the odd one out amongst her siblings all her life.
Tumblr media
There's also her great grandmother Flora Dora, who's is a very successful business woman that Nora looks up to, and it seems like she aspires to be just as successful as Flora Dora. Flora Dora also constantly organizes competitions at family gatherings, something that clearly reinforced if not encouraged her to be a competitive person who's a firm believer in pulling up the ladder behind her.
Tumblr media
2. It goes even further with the dark and adult humour than season 1 did. Season 1 had a few instances of characters going from saying hell and had blood onscreen a couple times, and the swear jokes were more blatant than ever, but otherwise was about as adult as Animaniacs usually is. In season 2 we still have blatant swear jokes...AND a character admitting to inc*st, slavery and genocide are mentioned and not sugar-coated at all, Nora straight up mentions doing drugs, Pinky unintentionally committing murder...there's quite a bit of death this season actually, etc. Granted this shouldn't be too surprising because the reboot does have a higher age rating than the original series ('93 was TV-Y, the reboot is TV-PG). Animaniacs is literally more adult than ever (whilst still being a kids show of course) and I am here for it.
3. THE SONGS!!! Season 1's songs were very good, Animaniacs songs usually are, but season 2's music was really, REALLY good! It had a lot of variety too: rock, rap, parody songs, Broadway showstoppers, electro pop, swing, etc. My personal favourites were "Warner's Ark", "I Am The Very Model of an Ancient Roman Emperor", "Magna Cartoon", and "Yakko's Big Idea" (*cough*buy/stream the soundtrack*cough*).
Tumblr media
4. The "running gag"/recurring joke of the season was better (there are less reboot jokes). Season 1 was funny, but I gotta admit they ran the whole "this is a reboot of a 90's show" joke into the ground. Like I get that the show is meta but they made that joke every other episode to the point where felt like they were repeating themselves. So I'm glad season 2 dropped that. There are quite a few jokes about and references to "Yakko's World", but 1) They at least tell us something about Yakko as a character by showing how much he values that song and that he seems to canonically be sentimental towards it, and 2) They were more creative with how they would reference it or use it for a joke each time, whereas most jokes about the show acknowledging that it's a reboot in season 1 are essentially just the characters stating "this is a reboot of a 90's show!" over and over again.
Plus bonus things I wanted that aren't necessarily "improvements":
A Plotz Cameo
Assuming that was him and not just an expy or relative of Plotz. If it was him does that mean he's not retired? Is he just an actor now? Either way it was cool to see!
Tumblr media
A Wakko Song
I was hoping Wakko would get a song number this season, and he did! ("Gruesome Ol' Gruel"). Maybe we could get a longer one next time though? Like, at least a minute or two? Preferably a rock song please? Honestly I think Wakko has the best singing voice of the three Warners, I just wanna hear him sing more!
A Yakko Solo Segment
...probably should explain this one. You see, in the original show Wakko has SIX stories basically all to himself where his siblings either aren't in it for long or don't appear at all ("Potty Emergency", "Clown ‘n’ Out", "Ups and Downs", "Bingo", "Go Fish", and “Ten Short Films About Wakko Warner”). He even gets another one in the reboot "Wakko's Short Shorts: Now Loading"). Now on it's own I don't mind this, in fact I think it's a good idea for each Warner sibling to get their chance to shine on their own without their siblings every now and again...the problem is that didn't really happen. Other than "Dot’s Quiet Time" (a segment's that basically a song number full of gags) and "Dot’s Poetry Corner" (a series of very short bumpers), Dot only got one story segment, “Cute First (Ask Questions Later)”, and even that took 93 episodes to get to...in a 99 episode series. Great.
Meanwhile Yakko literally only gets to star in a segment on his own if it’s a song ("Yakko’s World", "Yakko’s Universe", etc) or if it’s a one off gag/series of bumpers they’ll only do for one episode ("Useless Facts", "Disasterpiece Theatre", etc). Other than that he has ZERO stories in which he stars by himself without his siblings being present for a lot of it. Admittedly, Yakko was kind of a spotlight stealer in earlier episodes of the original show, so maybe the writers caught on to that and gave the other two solo segments intentionally, but still none of those segments were just him, his sibs were still there. I just would've liked to see Yakko star (mostly or entirely without his siblings) in a segment with a story (not one where the whole segment is a song, not a bumper segment) just once.
So imagine my delight when the reboot not only gave us just that, but also made it an homage to my favourite Looney Tunes short, "Duck Amuck".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Yakko Amakko" was one the highlights of season 2 to me, plus I loved the ending. He did what Daffy and even Bugs Bunny couldn't do, actually outwit the artist, how awesome is that?!
Many people thought season 2 was better than season 1, and I can see why (I personally like both seasons about the same-I think season 1 is better than season 2 in some areas, but season 2 is better than season 1 in others). There's also little things like Dr Scratchansniff being a recurring character again or how they actually referenced the PatB spin off this season (because correct me if I'm wrong but season 1 never made a direct reference to the spin off) that I almost listed but didn't have too much to say about them. They were neat.
Hopefully season 3 will turn out to be the best season yet!

We all know Wakko is afraid of clowns, but in the fourth episode of the original series The Warners are flying a hot air balloon with a clown face on it. This makes me wonder if something rather "unpleasant" happened while they were flying, causing Wakko to fear clowns by association? Like me with Footballs (long story)
Tumblr media
I certainly don't see any reason why that couldn't be the case. Otherwise, why wouldn't Wakko be scared of the balloon? Three possibilites:
He wasn't scared of clowns yet.
He doesn't know it's a clown balloon.
He isn't scared of inanimate objects that look like clowns, only real clowns.
It begs the question, of course, of what that unpleasant incident could have been. I don't think it would have involved a crash or anything, as he and his siblings have fallen from high heights many times before and been completely fine afterwards. My thought is that it could have been something else besides him or his siblings being harmed- maybe a bird hit the balloon and died. I think something like that would affect Wakko deeply and perhaps make him fear clowns.
I hope you won't mind if I use your ask as an opportunity to go into this more deeply. We don't have much evidence to get an objective answer as to why Wakko fears clowns, but maybe there's enough to allow us to single out some possibilities that are more likely than the others. Let's start by looking at the most important episode on this topic, "Clown and Out."
Tumblr media
The episode starts by showcasing Mr. Plotz's fear of clowns, which is very similar to Wakko's. He is shown on a therapy couch with Scratchansniff repeating the mantra "A clown is my friend. A clown will not bite me and throw me in the basement. A clown is not a big spider." It seems possible that his fear of clowns stems from It (both the novel and the original TV series were released a few years before Animaniacs). At the end of the episode, Wakko is shown repeating the same mantra, though the spider part is (presumably) cut-off.
Tumblr media
Wakko's fear of clowns stemming from watching It would be an easy explanation. However, it's muddled by the fact that, when he meets a clown exactly like Pennywise in the reboot, he's not scared of that one. Maybe the mantra could also relate to the possible balloon incident, with the fear of "a clown biting me and throwing me into a basement" represents the balloon crashing.
It could be a case of Scratchansniff being his usual incompetent self and trying to apply the same treatment to two patients with fundamentally different problems. Wakko wouldn't know the difference between good treatment and bad treatment and would likely just go along with whatever the doctor says, even if it doesn't apply to his personal problems with clowns.
Now, how scared of clowns is Wakko? Extremely. Scratchansniff says "Wakko has one of the most extreme cases of clownophobia I have ever seen. Wakko's fear of clowns... is so great that he becomes kooky and extremely unpredictable." Keep in mind that Scratchansniff, incompetence aside, has over 50 years of experience, so that is saying a lot. Could an extreme phobia like this come just from watching one horror movie?
Wakko has a visceral reaction to seeing a clown. It makes him paranoid enough to bring a stool over to the tower door just so he can stand and watch through the peephole. He does this in the middle of playing hide-and-seek with his siblings on his birthday, an activity which he presumably enjoys very much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, it doesn't make him lose all reason. He doesn't immediately resort to violence, even though, being Wakko, he very easily could. He first tries to ask the clown to go away repeatedly, explaining that he's scared, and only after the clown refuses to leave does Wakko resort to violence and tricks to get him to go away permanently. (To Mars.) It should be noted that Wakko, after his siblings ask him what he's been doing, says that he had to get rid of "the" clown. Not a clown. Does Wakko, at this point, believe there's only one clown in the world that tries to constantly terrorize him? Probably not, but it's a funny thought to consider.
So, now, having gone over the important information from the primary episode about Wakko's fear of clowns, let me present my several personal theories on why Wakko fears clowns.
It's simply an irrational fear that has no particular cause.
If I feared clowns, this would be the reason. They don't leave you alone. They keep trying to entertain you, even if you're clearly not entertained by them or even scared of them. Wakko asks the clown in this episode to leave several times, but he doesn't listen. Could Wakko's fear of clowns be related to a lack of control, perhaps relating to the lack of control he felt when locked in the tower?
The Warners are often shown to be legitimately scared of things they find to be unfunny or unentertaining, such as Baloney the Dinosaur. Maybe Wakko is scared of clowns simply because he finds them to be unfunny. I don't see any reason this couldn't be the case, but I won't discuss this possibility any further, because it's a boring answer.
This is the one I find most intriguing. Wakko hates clowns because of his own internal insecurities. The Warners look a lot like clowns, with their white faces and red noses. Maybe Wakko sees clowns as a reflection of the way everyone else sees him and his siblings, or the way he thinks they see them: annoying, unfunny "entertainers" who won't leave you alone. No one takes clowns seriously just like no one takes the Warners seriously.
Let me be clear: in any case, I don't think Wakko is aware of the reason he fears clowns. He just knows he does.
Sometimes, looking at the meta answer to a question can help you find the in-universe answer. I'm not sure that's the case here. Out-of-universe, the writers probably just gave him a random phobia for the sake of making an entertaining episode, and there's no deeper meaning behind it. He's just scared of clowns. I could be wrong, of course. There could be a super detailed Animaniacs lorebook out there recording the whole backstory of every little plot point and character trait in Animaniacs. If it exists, I'd love to see it, but obviously that's probably not the case.
I think the most helpful information we have to help find the answer to this question is Wakko's reaction to Nickelwise. Why is Wakko afraid of most clowns, but not afraid of Nickelwise? The differences between Nickelwise and other clowns might tell us exactly what Wakko fears about most other clowns.
Tumblr media
The reason Wakko gives for not fearing Nickelwise is that he's a "cutie", and his eyes "look like mine."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, in other words, Wakko doesn't fear Nickelwise because he relates to him. The thing that this most strongly proves is that Wakko's fear of clowns isn't totally irrational. If it was, he'd be afraid of Nickelwise no matter what. There is a reason for it.
I think this could support my fourth theory. If Wakko's fear of clowns stems from others' warped perceptions of him, then a clown that more closely represents who he truly is would be less scary to him.
Another possible reason that Wakko doesn't fear Nickelwise, which is never mentioned in the episode, is that he only fears clowns that are meant to be funny, not clowns that are meant to be scary. This could support my second or third theories.
Have we been able to rule out any theories with this information? No. Have we been able to establish any theories that are particularly more likely than the others? Not really. I think it could be any of the theories, including the balloon incident one, or a combination of several of them. The truth is there's just no objective way to know with the incomplete information we're given, so all we have is speculation. But it's fun to speculate! Thanks for your interesting theory and for giving me an opportunity to speculate, anon. And good luck in your fight against footballs.

Animaniacs Headcanons
I recently came upon my 5 page Harry Potter HC google doc so I thought I would do it for one of my most recent Hyper fixations
- Hello Nurse Mindey and Katie Kaboom's Moms Sister - the mime creeps Wakko out, - Slappy basically adopted the Warners as her grandkids - all the Warners share traits with the animals they described themselves as in the "what are we" song - Wakko is partially colour blind - they also shake themselves dry after swimming, gating rained of etc - Dot sometimes can't handle water - Dot's claws grow the fastest and the longest out of all the Warners - Yakko bounces when happy - Yakko has really sensitive hearing - Wakko has pretty bad sensory issues, but they're calmed by their hat, - when having a but of a sensory overload Wakko tucks their ears into their hat to cancel out the noise - the Warners have a three teir bunk bed, and whever Dot can't sleep she usually alternates on which brother she goes to for comfort - when it's Yakko, he usually tells her a story and sings a song - and When it's Wakko they usually just Let Dot sleep in their bed and provides sufficient hugs - Wakko has read the whole Riordenverse multiple times - and Wakko hot Dot to read them too - Yakko is not much of a fantasy book fan but - Wakko is ambidextrous - Wakko is really good at physically demanding tasks - Yakko is the Brains of the trio, Wakko is the Brawn and Dot is the Beauty - Wakko prefers Skirts to pants - Dot goes out with Wakko to buy dresses, skirts etc, - Dot and Wakko act like twins, since their only one year apart in age they just treat eachother like twins (people also ask them if they're twins and they just say yes, cause it's funny) - Dot is really good at embroidery, cross Stich etc, and she makes little things for her siblings - Wakko and Dot once went as Dipper and Mabel for Halloween (Yakko went as Grunkle Stan) - sometimes all three Warners just pile on top of each other on Yakko's bed and sleep there - Hello Nurse is Basically the Warner Sibs mum - Minerva and Hello Nurse have a bit of a thing goin on (crack ships my beloved) - despite being severly lactose intolerant Yakko just doesn't care, he'll eat cheese, chocolate etc - on a separate Halloween Wakko and Dot dressed as Leo and Piper - Angelina fell first William fell harder - if the Warners were humans they'd be half British and half from Warnerstalk (Germany) and have Vertiligo - Angelina is German but has an American accent (VC Taylor Swift) - William is British and has a British Accent (VC Weasley twins) - Angelina is an only child and William has two siblings - Dot loves Musiums - after Pink Dot's favourite colour is yellow - Yakko's favourite colour is Lavender (this might be canon idk) - Wakko likes alot of the cool colours like blues, greens and Purples - Yakko is dog shit at math and I will die on this hill - Wakko is actually really good at it and helped write the Multiplication song - Dot is semi tiktok famous - Yakko gets into random fights with people on Twitter? X? idk anymore - Wakko streams of YouTube and Twitch - the Warners have a pretty big YouTube channel - Wakko is a really good cook - Dot can't cook for shit, she has burnt Water for Spielberg's sake - all three Warners love the Owl house - they dressed up as both the Blight kids (Y: Ed, W: Em D: Amity) and the Noceda kids (Y:Hunter, W:Vee,D:Luz) - Wakko has a mild Cat allergy - -all the Warners are Ace - Yakko is Pan, Wakko is Aroace and Dot is Bi -Wakko is Non-binary & uses They/them Pronouns -Yakko is a Demi-boy & uses he/they pronouns - Dot is the only Cis Warner Sibling (you could say that she's the Warner Cis-ter) -Hello Nurse is a Lesbian - Dr Scrach'n'sniff is Trans-masc & Gay -Hello Nurse & Dr Scrach'n'sniff co-parent the warners

Animaniacs Super 7 Figures!
Hi everyone! I know in my last post, I said that my next post was going to be my biggest one yet (my ranking of every single Pinky and The Brain segment from the reboot) but something arrived before I could start that!
Tumblr media
My Super 7 Animaniacs Ultimates figures arrived! Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and Brain arrived last Wednesday while Pinky came last Thursday. I’ve been waiting for these for over 1 year and two months and I’m so excited they are now in my collection! Here is my official review of these amazing figures (and all the trouble I went through to get them out of the box).
Tumblr media
Here they all are in their boxes. First things first, I love the way they designed these boxes. They’re colorful and each one is different. I plan on keeping them for storage. Brain’s box is absolutely gigantic and sticks out compared to the others. I don’t have photos of the backs but it’s only a picture of each character and a little background. Now, onto each figure.
Tumblr media
Here’s Yakko! I love how tall he is when compared to his siblings. He also has some good weight to him. The figure is a tad bit hard to move, but that’s a given since he’s new. Moving around the joints will loosen them up a little. The ears also move, which is a surprise! Unfortunately, I found it very difficult to put on his alternate head, to the point where I couldn’t actually get it on. I’ll figure it out and even if I don’t, I’m not really going to use that head anyways. Yakko’ s tail was also hard to change. The hands are cute, though I haven’t tried changing them. I really like the way Yakko looks even if there are a few paint smudges (but that’s always going to happen). The board with the countries of the world is very detailed and contains every single country mentioned in the song. The bag of fun is nice and weighted and I think the little pointer is a nice touch. This took me about 20 minutes to get out of the packaging because it was so secure! My fingers were sweaty and my thumbs hurt. I did manage after a while. While it was hard, I’m not going to let that detract from my opinion! Overall, a great figure.
Tumblr media
Next up is Wakko! He was very easy to take out of the plastic thankfully. I think he looks really cute and I love his sweater! It does make it kind of hard to articulate his arms, but I’ll work on that. I didn’t even try to put on his alternate head since I didn’t want to have another Yakko situation. His tail was mercifully easier to change than Yakko’s. I love all the little hands and how they can actually hold the accessories. Speaking of which, these are the best accessories from the three Warners. The mallet was heavy and a good size, I love the USA on the board, the fiddle was a little big but it still worked, and the dynamite stick (which comes with all three Warner siblings) is very colorful. I love Wakko’s alternate head; I just think it looks neat. The paint job was good also. Another win here.
Tumblr media
She’s cute, she’s feisty, she’s witty: it’s Dot! She was also really hard to get out of the box, though not as hard as Yakko. She is so tiny; she’s actually smaller than Brain! I love her heads, particularly her heart eyes head. Dot’s tail was hard to swap out since her skirt got in the way, but I figured it out after messing with it for a minute. Her hands are so cute! I love the rose and the butterfly. She also has fists! Sadly, she comes with the least amount of accessories only having a stick of dynamite and a little duck float (which has a softer plastic rubbery texture!). Dot’s paint was pretty good with barely any smudges. I can’t wait to find a little stool and do some Dot’s Poetry Corner things. I hope I can get her to sit down! She was very adorable and fun!
Tumblr media
Pinky’s turn! Narf! This was hands-down my favorite of the 5 figures (and not just because Pinky is my favorite character). He feels the most accurate and was the easiest to pose and articulate. Removing him from the box was also easy. His tail will become a little loose though when moved around a lot. It does stay in place when positioned. Changing Pinky’s heads was easy and didn’t take too much time. His alternate heads were my favorite! I love the “bopped on the head look” and Pinky’s happy face was really cute. He also has the most hands. I also love it how they made Pinky left handed and gave him some hands that not only hold the accessories, but look like he’s giving a thumbs up. The accessories are cute too. I love the grappling hook, notepad, and the science equipment that make me wish we got a cage play set. And though I don’t personally ship Pinky and Phar Fignewton, the little picture was a nice touch. This was just an amazing figure and I can ignore the paint defects since he’s fantastic looking. I will be taking a lot of pictures of this mouse; he’s so photogenic!
Tumblr media
Lastly, we have The Brain! The heaviest figure, (and shockingly, the easiest one to remove from the packaging) Brain is a tad bit top-heavy and is difficult to stand, though you can get him to stay upright. Brain’s head is huge, about as big as the palm of my hand. His tail can be popped out with ease, which can be frustrating, though it’s quick to put back in. He is easy to pose and his hands are so freaking tiny! I love his alternate head; it’s so expressive. I wish he had another head to get more expressions from him. His accessories are incredible! I love the giant magnet and the blueprint was made of cardboard to my surprise. The paper clip and pointer are also fun. My favorite accessory, perhaps maybe of the entire line, is the globe keychain. It’s a real keychain that can be put on things like backpacks and it comes from my favorite episode! I was so happy when I found out that this was going to be an accessory in this set. He was fun to pose and was size-accurate when compared to Pinky. I think he looks very close to the show and I can’t wait to put him in some situations with Pinky. Brain was amazing overall and I’m excited for some more pictures.
Tumblr media
Overall, I loved these a lot. There were a few paint issues and the posing and swapping of heads and hands could be difficult, but I still adore them, especially Pinky and Brain. I am loving all the accessories and all the possibilities for articulation. These are honestly a must-have for people who love the show. They’re not perfect by any means, but I still find them really cool. Overall 8.5/10 for the entire lot. I hope you enjoyed my review! Here are a few pictures I took of Pinky and Brain below:
Tumblr media
The mice (attempting) to hold hands. The posing for this took a while and the balance was hard. I’ll work on it later so I can get better shots. There will be a lot more Brinky photos in the future!
Tumblr media
Here’s Pinky in his first dress! This was on a random fairy doll I had and I thought it would look perfect on him. Luckily, it did! Now, I can use this dress as a size comparison when I want to find more outfits. I think he looks beautiful, though I wish I had a blonde wig he could wear. Image what Brain would think! I’m looking forward to putting Pinky in more fun clothes and expanding his wardrobe!

we need more big brother wakko content on this earth. could you perhaps write something about wakko being a good big brother to dot ? :)
It was well into bedtime inside the Warner siblings tower, the trio well asleep and tucked into their beds. With Yakko snoring as the colorful spheres in his ball pit covered him along with his blanket, head tilted back in an open-mouthed snore.
Wakko slept in their hammock, tongue lolled out the side of his mouth. One arm and leg hung off the side, and they snored as well, though softer than Yakko. It had taken them a bit longer to finally get to rest, still reeling from the excitement of that day.
However, their gift of sleep was taken away just as soon as it was given, a small, whimpering sound causing one of their ears to perk up. A single eye drifted half open, adjusting to the darkness. It was still and quiet for a moment, and they were just about to close their eyes once again, thinking they were most likely just hearing things.
Suddenly the whimpering sound came again, and this time with it the soft sound of a mattress and covers shifting about. Wakko groaned, the red cap slipping from their head when he lifted it up, both eyes now open and squinting in the dark. They rubbed their tired eyes of sleep, or attempted to at least.
“What’s going on?? Did a cute little puppy sneak in??” They whispered towards their brother and sister, annoyed that they were awoken after such a long period of time finally getting comfortable, but a little hopeful that a sweet little dog was the cause of it.
The only answers they received was yet another snore from Yakko, and that same whimpering, which appeared to sound much closer than Wakko had initially thought. In fact, it was clear as day in both their ears now.
Concerned by this point, they tilted their head to the side, trying to pick up exactly where it could be coming from. Sure enough, they turned and were met with the sight of their baby sister Dot, hugging a pillow close to her chest, knees curled against it. Her fangs were bared, and she frowned.
Her shoulders were tense, eyes shut so tight Wakko could see the creases. It looked that she was trying her best to keep the tears at bay. Wakko could see the way her body twitched and her legs kicked whenever Dot made that whimpering noise.
Wakko chewed on the bottom of their lips. Dot was their baby sister, and she would always be, so seeing her appear so small, afraid, and shaking like a leaf in the wind was such a jarring image compared to the strong, fierce little sister they knew. It hurt to see her like this.
It was lucky that Wakko’s hammock hung right off the edge of Dot’s bed, so they could climb their way over the end, doing it so softly as to not scare their sister any further. Not that their plan worked at all, for as soon as they applied even the smallest bit of pressure onto the mattress, she jolted awake with a gasp, hitting them square on the nose with a pillow in the process.
“OW, Hey! I was only trying to check on you.” Wakko murmured, shoving the pillow out of the way. Dot blinked, as if just realizing she was awake, and no longer experiencing that nightmare. She was silent for a few seconds, save for her breathing heavily.
Tear rimmed eyes made their way over to look at Wakko, and just at the sight of them her bottom lip began to quiver, and tears now spilled over her cheeks. Wakko opened his mouth to express his concern, but was interrupted when Dot threw herself onto them, her arms wrapped around his waist in an almost crushing hug. Wakko was always reminded just how much stronger their sister was compared to how she looked.
“Wakkoo… you’re such a dummy!” Dot exclaimed once the moment had passed, picking up her pillow yet again and wacking them upside the head.
“Ah! What the- first you’re gonna hug me and then hit me? No wonder they say what they say about little sisters. I don’t get you at all!.” They whisper-shouted, hand pressed against their cheek where they were struck.
Dot sighed, looking down at the pillow in her lap. She wiped her nose on the back of her finger, sniffling. “Ugh. You’re a dummy because something happened to you in my dream and you were hurt, and I couldn’t….”
Her voice trailed off again, turning back into a blubbering mess of tears and snot. Dot once again buried her face into their blue sweater, now at the point of sobbing.
Wakko’s ears drooped, of course with Dot being the youngest, along with it she was also the smallest, and that was apparent now more than ever when she shrunk herself into their arms.
“Aww, come on, Dot! You know nothing could happen to me that I couldn’t shake off. I’m right here! You can tell ‘cause you’re using me as a living tissue right now.”
Wakko teased her, and he was grateful to hear the softest, although sheepish chuckle muffled into his sweater.
“Ughh sorry. I’m supposed to be the cute one, and yet look at me.” There was a pause, before she spoke again, her voice just above a whisper. “You wouldn’t mind staying the rest of the night, would you? With me, I mean.”
“Aww sure, baby sister. I don’t think you’re gonna give me much of a choice, anyways.”
Dot lifted her head, jabbing a finger into their chest. “You got that right!” They laughed for a small time, before she interrupted herself with a yawn, leaning against Wakko as a soft, gentle purring mixed with her breathing.
“Don’t worry, Dot. I’m right here for ya.” Wakko mumbled, heart swelling as she purred against them. It wasn’t the most comfortable position to be stuck in, but it was far from the worst.

Um you like Animaniacs.... What is/are some of your favorite moment(s)?
Oh boy! Great question. Potentially absurdly long answer.
As far as the Warners go, I LOVE when they get really good sibling interactions, and also basically any time they get to have nice or just really funny interactions with the humans in their lives.
This bit in “Hercules Unwound” when Dot is having an off day and Yakko offers to skip the cartoon because she’s not feeling it. They’ve already skipped a cartoon earlier in the episode as well. It’s cute to see Yakko and Wakko caring more about their sister than teaching a lesson to their “special friend.”
This very important sequence from Wakko’s Wish, AKA the cutest Yakko and Dot scene. Literally one of my favorite moments in anything ever. This movie is the thesis statement for like…..85% of angsty Yakko content, at least until the reboot.
Dot messing up her name in Cutie and the Beast, and Yakko and Wakko being little shits about it (bonus: Dot swearing like a sailor). It makes me laugh every time. Also hearing Yakko referred to as “Mr. United States Canada Mexico Panama” never gets old.
The “I’m Mad” theatrical short has it all. Peak Warner sib moments and the best Dad!Scratchansniff content. The Warners are from the late 20s/early 30s. They are OLDER than the Looney Tunes, if you look at their canonical creation dates. Seeing them getting to actually act like kids makes me feel emotions. Also Rob Paulsen is voicing HALF of the characters in this very chaotic song.
The entirety of Meatballs or Consequences, but especially this section. It’s so cute watching Yakko and Dot ask to stay with Wakko, and “are we dead, or is this Ohio” makes me laugh every time. And Jess Harnell is both Wakko and Death! I love hearing his different accents.
This scene from “Fear and Laughter in Burbank,” the OTHER angsty Yakko thesis statement. Do you wanna see an animated character have an on-screen panic attack and then almost have his soul eaten? This is the bit for you. I would LOVE to hear Rob Paulsen’s perspective of this moment, because it’s…a lot, given some of his real life circumstances at the time. Also here there be scary clowns, so if you don’t like clowns, skip this one.
“Yakko’s Big Idea” from the segment of the same name. I’m SO normal about this scene where Yakko is inventing the perfect world for him and his sibs to play in.
Drive Insane, especially the bit from around 0:30 to 1:15 seconds in this video. The Warners tormenting Scratchy by making people think he’s their dad is never NOT funny to me.
“It’s New Year’s Eve” from Hooray for North Hollywood Part 2. It’s so cute seeing them have a good time and be accepted by everyone, and it’s cute to see them celebrating Mr. Plotz. Just don’t think about how this fits into the last few episodes. Don’t. Look at Yakko giving Dot a lil kiss on the cheek instead.
Non Warner Segments:
Les Miseranimals is THE iconic Rita and Runt segment. It’s so good. This isn’t the whole thing, but I definitely recommend going and watching it all.
You could blindfold yourself and stick a pin in a list of Pinky and the Brain episodes and be almost guaranteed to get a great one, but Bubba Bo Bob Brain is one of the absolute best.
The first 30 seconds of this video includes probably my favorite Pinky and the Brain exchange of all time, from Wakko’s Wish
Honorable Mentions:
West Side Pigeons (Goodfeathers)
De-Zanitized (The Warners, and I’m only not including it because I could talk about it for about an hour)
Smitten With Kittens (Rita and Runt)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo Clock (Slappy Squirrel, and I’m not sure it’s one of my favorites so much as it makes me want to study Tom Ruegger like a bug because what the hell)
Literally every Chicken Boo segment, I’m not singling any of them out because every Chicken Boo segment is funny to me.
Lookit the Fuzzy Heads (The Warners and Buttons and Mindy, as well as a Tiny Toons Adventures crossover, shhhhh no one tell anyone that I enjoyed an Elmyra segment)
This is embarrassingly long, and I probably still forgot some. Everyone please watch this cartoon.

Make A Wish
Almost at the star
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15
Ao3 Link
The Warner siblings were doing okay.
Sure, there were a few bumps along the path here and there, Wakko almost passing out being one of them, but ever since Yakko got some food in him, he was starting to look and feel better. Not his usual self, of course (you can’t just shake off starvation like that), but better. Then again, almost anything is a better state than dying.
But still.
Nothing major had happened. They were sailing smoothly up and down the mountains, the wind and snow on their side. They were even having a little bit of fun again. It was… nice.
“So the wishing star can really give you anything you want?” Dot asked. Wakko nodded.
“That’s what Pip said,” He grinned, his tongue sticking out.
“So we’re really gonna get mom and dad back? Wow,” Dot smiled a little. “I’m done with grandma.”
“I think you speak for all of us when you say that,” Yakko laughed.
“What do you wanna do when they come back?” Dot asked her brothers.
“I think I’d give them a big hug and then we’d go back to the garden and have a big fancy picnic all day, just like the ones we used to have on mine and Daddoo’s birthday,” Wakko grinned.
“What about you Yakko?” Dot turned her head to him.
“That’s a good one…” Yakko thought for a moment. Truthfully, he had no idea. He’d been preoccupied with worries about his sibs ever since they died he hardly had the time to envision what he’d do if they came back or never died. He had to give it some thought.
“I’d hug them, obviously. Then, I’d tell them about all the good things they missed, the lessons we’ve given you, the birthdays, and other good things like that. Then, I’d just… spend time with them. We wouldn’t have to do anything- just to sit in a room and read with them in the room too would be enough for me…” Yakko thought aloud.
“Oooo, that sounds nice,” Dot smiled a little.
“What about you Dot?” Yakko asked. Dot sat and thought.
“I think I’d hug them, tell them how much I missed them, and then have mom brush my hair and sing lullabies, and Dad reads bedtime stories… maybe we’d even play dolls together,” Dot hugged herself a little, touching her hair lightly.
“It’s been so long, I-i think I might’ve forgotten…” she blinked distantly.
“It’s okay Dot- mom will be back brushing your hair and singing lullabies and Dad’ll be back with his stories before you know it,” Yakko reassured, and Dot’s face brightened.
“Yeah! They’ll be back before I know it,” She snapped out of her funk.
“How much longer do you think, Yakko?” Wakko asked.
“Probably within the hour,” He estimated.
That felt crazy to say.
“Within the hour.”
His parents were less than an hour away.
This was actually happening.
“Cool,” Wakko nodded.
“Yeah… cool,” Yakko chuckled, still reeling at the thought.
The siblings rode in silence for a moment, each processing what “within the hour” really meant, getting more and more excited the more they thought about it.
This wasn’t some far-off fantasy- the star was right there! All they had to do was reach it first, and since they hadn’t run into any other travelers it actually looked like they’d make it- it seemed luck was finally on their side for once.
“Hey Yakko- there’s someone behind us,” Wakko pulled on Yakko’s pant leg and pointed.
“I just had to jinx it, didn’t I?” Yakko thought to himself.
Yakko sighed and looked.
It was the royal carriage.
“Fire!” A voice from within the carriage ordered.
“You two- get down,” Yakko ordered as a musket was fired from the carriage. Dot and Wakko were quick to obey.
“Of course she has a gun- of course she does,” Yakko growled as he steered them away, as he heard it fire again, piercing a tree just beside them.
“Yakko- are we gonna-?”
“Everything’s gonna be okay, I got you,” Yakko assured, looking back and saw Angelina sticking her head out the window.
She looked terrible. The wind caused her usually perfect up-do to lose quite a few hairs, which were now flapping in the wind. Rage had consumed her, and her usually refined makeup created dark smudgy circles under her eyes. He made eye contact with her for a brief moment and never had he ever seen her with such hatred in her eyes.
Huh.
Yakko had always wondered what would happen if they tried to run away.
Guess that was the answer.
Yakko then put his attention back onto the path ahead, and got nervous when he realized it was about to get a little narrow, meaning he probably couldn’t weave should they aim directly for them, though he could try… Hopefully, the person firing was a better person than their grandmother, and wouldn’t aim for them, not on purpose…
“It’ll be okay,” Yakko said again, sucking in a breath of cold air as he weaved through a few trees before going onto the narrow path.
Thankfully, it appeared the person in charge of firing was either a poor shot or wasn’t aiming for them like he wanted, because no matter what, he always hit the mountainside. However, this wasn’t a good thing, because it caused the snow to shift and for rocks to fall onto the path, which Yakko feared would cause either an avalanche or rockslide- neither of which would be good.
“Is that grandma?” Wakko asked, peeping his head to look.
“I said to stay down,” Yakko ordered, and Wakko went back down.
The cannon fired again, this time sending a loud cracking sound through the mountain.
Yakko always just had to jinx it, didn’t he?
He heard the guard behind on the carriage curse, and Yakko tried to pick up the speed of the sled before anything happened- they were almost down too- After that, it was just an open field to the wishing star.
“Yakko- a-are you sure we’re gonna-”
“We’re gonna make it Dot, I promise,” Yakko really didn’t want to deal with any kind of negativity at the moment. He hadto focus.
Just as he predicted, the guard had shot into the cliff, which was now causing massive amounts of snow and rock to start plummeting down the mountain, in a weird mix of “avalanche” and “rockslide”.
“If we weren’t wishing for our parents back, I’d wish we had better luck,” Yakko muttered, trying to avoid falling rocks as the path widened once more.
“Agreed,” Wakko said, holding onto Dot.
The impending doom as it became clearer that there was no way they were going to make it off the mountain without being knocked off their feet and losing the sled or worse was not.
“Brace yourselves you two,” Yakko said, not knowing what other advice he could give. He had never survived an avalanche- what did he expect?
Eventually, Yakko held onto his siblings too, closing his eyes and bracing himself when he felt the sled get turned over and the three of them were tossed into the air.
Being in the air forced them apart on instinct, and they all fell into the snow with a sharp thud, and Yakko almost thought that was a good thing, otherwise he’d land on top of his siblings and that’s not what he wanted.
With all the strength Yakko had in him, he clawed and dug his way out of the snow, and was relieved that both of his sibs had at least gotten their hands to the top by the time he was all the way out. Quickly, Yakko got the rest of him out, and dug out his sibs, surprised to find they had already reached the plane.
“There it is… the Wishing Star,” he said as he helped Wakko stand.
“Wow…” Dot said in awe.
And “Wow” didn’t even begin to describe it. It was brilliant, it was beautiful, it was gigantic it was–
There was shouting from behind.
Yakko looked back and saw that somehow their grandmother’s stupid carriage had survived.
“C’mon, we have no time to lose,” he said, taking his sibs hands and running for it.
He was not going to lose to her. Not here, not now, not ever.
As they ran, Angelina kept yelling with the guard, and Dot kept turning her head despite Yakko’s constant attempts to get her to stop without letting go of their hands.
“Don’t look back, Dot,” He ordered. Dot didn’t listen.
“I don’t care anymore- get the smaller one!” He heard Angelina shout extra loud, and Yakko panicked and picked up the pace. Dot however, froze in her tracks, letting go of Yakko’s hand, looking back.
“Wakko! Watch out!” She screamed, jumping and shoving him down to the ground and–
An ear-piercing gunshot rang through the plane, and Dot screamed in pain, before falling to the ground.
“Dot!!!” Yakko screeched to a halt and ran back to her, while Wakko remained frozen on the ground in shock.
The snow around her was already turning red.
And Wakko’s face was speckled with it.
“Oh god- oh god oh god oh god-” was the only thing Yakko could say as he knelt onto the snow and examined his sister.
“Y-y-yakko-” She said, shuddering in pain, which only made it worse. Yakko put her head on his knees and held her hand.
He could hear arguing from behind.
“It’s gonna be okay Dot- It’s gonna be okay,” he said, tears already filling his eyes and a tight lump formed in his throat.
“I-it hurts Yakko,” she said, fear in her eyes.
Wakko broke from his frozen state to carefully crawl over. “I know Dot, b-but it’s gonna be okay,”
Yakko looked up to try to see if he could see their grandmother, but he couldn’t. Yakko realized he didn’t care- he couldn’t care. Not right now.
Dot shuddered in pain. “I-i wanna go home,” She said.
“I know Dot, we’re gonna. We’re gonna get our wish and we’re gonna go home, okay? W-we’ll pick you up and carry you if we have to,” Yakko said shakily.
“I-i’m scared,” Dot cried.
“Don’t be scared, I’m right here,” Yakko assured, giving her hand a squeeze. Dot cringed as her breathing got more unsteady. She turned her head away from her brothers.
“M-mommy? Daddy?” She asked weakly. Yakko sniffled and wiped his eyes.
“M-mom and Dad aren’t here yet Dot s-so don’t go to–”
Wakko tugged on his arm. Yakko looked up.
His parents were there, running in the snow with all their might.
“No, they… they can’t…” Yakko couldn’t say anything. The siblings were dumbstruck.
“Mommy! Daddy!!!” Dot was full on sobbing now.
“Dottie!!!” Their parents cried out in unison, picking up their pace until they reached them.
“Y-you’re… y-you can’t…” Yakko couldn’t speak. Wakko practically leapt into his mother’s arms sobbing, while William went and held Dot’s other hand.
“It’s okay, Dot. W-we’re here honey,” William said, placing a soft hand on her cheek.
“Daddy, i-it really hurts,” she cried. “Make it go away, please.”
“I-i know honey,” William said, as he slowly picked her up. Yakko just watched in awe.
“It’s gonna be okay- alright? Everything's gonna be just fine,” he spoke so softly and familiarly…
“I wanna go home. I wanna hear a story,” She grabbed her father’s shirt and pulled on it desperately.
“We’ll go home real soon, okay cutie? We’ll go home and we’ll read you a bedtime story and tuck you in, alright?” He asked. Dot nodded even though the action clearly pained her.
“That sounds good– I-i w-wanna go home,” she sobbed, closing her eyes intensely.
“I know sweetie, I wanna go home too” William hugged her closer, rubbing his face against hers.
“Y-y-yakko,” Dot turned her head weakly.
“Y-yeah? I-I’m here, Dot,” Yakko wiped his eyes, being forced back into the moment. William slowly set her back down again and Yakko held her hand once more.
“Yakko, you’ll go home too, right?” She sniffled and smiled weakly.
“O-of course. All of us- we’ll all be there, okay? We’re gonna get our wish and we’re gonna go home, okay?” Yakko asked, looking at his parents and Wakko.
“O-okay,” she smiled a little more. “We-we’re gonna go home, a-and be together– a big happy family,” she said.
“Y-yeah Dot. A big happy family,” Yakko stroked her face with his thumb, doing his best not to choke.
“Yakko I don’t wanna die,” she looked at him. “I-i’m not ready to die.”
“Th-then don’t–! Y-you can’t die– I won’t let you,” Yakko pleaded with her.
“Yakko I wanna go home,” She cried, squeezing his hand with all the weak might within her.
“It’s gonna be okay, Dot. Y-you aren’t gonna die,” William said, but it was clear the light was already fading.
“I-i’m– I’m sorry…”
Her eyes became glossed over, and she went limp.
No.
No, no, no.
William checked for a pulse.
No.
He checked for breathing.
“This is– she can’t actually– this is–”
Eventually, their father just picked her up and burst into tears.
Yakko couldn’t believe this. It wasn’t happening. It couldn’t be happening.
Dot…
Dot was dead.
.o0o.
Dot was dead.
Her baby girl was dead.
Lena hadn’t said a word- why hadn’t she said anything?!
She should’ve said something- anything, but now-
Oh god.
She hugged Wakko tighter.
She tried looking down at Dot, but she couldn’t-
God, there was so much blood.
Instead, she looked away- out towards the mountains- where she saw-
No…
She wouldn’t-
She would.
The next emotion Lena felt was rage. It consumed her, mixing in with her grief and anguish. She sprang to life, picking up William’s sword and running toward the Wishing Star, fueled by her anger and hatred.
She ignored any pain felt in her legs, focusing only on stopping Her- she couldn’t reach the star.
“Stop. Right. There,” She said, cutting off her mother from the star, pointing the sword at her mother.
“Angelina,” The queen halted, even taking a step back. “Y-you’re supposed to be dead.”
“You’d know that, wouldn’t you?” Lena glared. “Your assassins failed. William and I survived.”
“And yet, I’m still winning,” Angelina laughed wickedly.
“Not for long,” Lena pointed the sword at her mother, who laughed again.
“You don’t have the guts,” Angelina rolled her eyes.
“You’d be surprised at the amount of anger a mother can have when someone murders their child,” Lena stepped forward.
“They were aiming for that abomination of a younger son,” Angelina rolled her eyes. “It’s not my fault that girl was foolish enough to jump in the way.”
“You do not get to speak of her or Wakko that way,” Lena stepped forward, the sword now inches away from the queen. She laughed.
Angelina scoffed. “You know, I really didn’t think you’d ever be one to commit treason like this. I always thought you were smarter than throwing away your whole life just to get back at me.”
“It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for my children– something you’d never understand.”
“You know nothing of sacrifice–! All I ever did was sacrifice for you and you never appreciated it,” Angelina shouted.
“Ever since I was born, you’ve hated me. You’ve exploited me, tortured me, abused me, and just– you made my life a living hell! And you want to know the worst part, ‘mother’?” She put the sword down and got right in front of her.
“All of this I could’ve found within myself to forgive, but the moment you laid a hand on my children was the moment you signed your death certificate,” Lena stepped forward.
Angelina chuckled. “Your attachments make you weak, Angelina. For the kingdom’s sake I hope you think about what you’re doing and step down.”
“You know, you’ve taken everything from me,” Lena didn’t regard that comment. “I used to think there was hope for you– maybe if I was just good enough or kind or patient enough– I was foolish, a child even. But now I know you’re nothing but a selfish monster. A monster who I will never let hurt me or my family ever again.”
“Goodbye, mother.” Lena said, before stepping back and stabbing the sword through her.
Her mother smiled still.
“Give Yakko my regards, Angelina. I always did have such high hopes for him,” she laughed weakly, which Lena replied by immediately taking the sword out of her.
Her mother’s body hit the snow, and she was dead without another word.
Good Riddance.
She tossed the sword to the ground.
Blood.
Blood was everywhere.
It stained her blue dress, it stained the snow, it stained her hands, it stained her fur, it stained Dot, it stained William, it stained Wakko, it stained her soul.
She staggered away from her mother and eventually forced herself to look away as tears filled her eyes.
Her actual family needed her.
Quicklys she ran back and gave Yakko a big hug.
For the first time in forever, he accepted and cried in her arms. She stroked his head softly and soothingly as Wakko joined in the hug, before looking away and realizing the star was still there– she had stopped her mother– they could–
“We can still fix this,” Lena told everyone. Yakko sniffled, confused. Lena helped him up, Wakko too.
“William,” She said softly. Her husband looked at her, and she gestured toward the star. Understanding, he stood and picked Dot up.
Lena took in a deep breath, squeezing both of her boy’s hands before walking towards the Wishing Star. When they reached it, Wakko silently asked for her permission to touch it. Lena gave his hand a loving squeeze, and Wakko reached forward, and the star shined brighter, a burst of light shooting through the sky.
Wakko closed his eyes and made his wish.
The star’s glow increased as it expanded, sending a refreshingly warm breeze through the air until it disappeared completely, leaving only grass behind from where the star had melted the snow. Everyone held their breath.
“D-dad..? M-mom? What..?” Dot opened her eyes.
“Dot,” Lena smiled, tears of relief and joy now flowing.
Quickly, everyone wrapped Dot into a big, sobbing, and relieving group hug.
Dot was alive, Angelina was not, and everything was okay.

KH ANON HERE AGAIN!! i have continued my silly AU (it’s a bit long but )
max pretty much just coughs and sputters and asks where the siblings are trying to go. “ever heard of a, uh.. disney castle?” yakko says, and max immediately explodes. he starts to reconsider his adventuring for a moment. he tells the siblings to follow him, and he heads backwards to his town. along the way, he explains his story, and they explain theirs’; they’re looking for information about their parents, and he’s looking for an adventure. yakko comes up with an idea. they end up setting camp late at night, the other two sibs asleep before he playfully elbows max. “why don’t me and you form a partnership, maxxy? you want an adventure, and i’m definitely going on one, eh?” . max agrees, and the gang are now going to be on their own quest. yakko is a bit of a worrywort when it comes to his siblings, so he tells them to stay in town while him and max go on a little walk to map out what’s around disneytown. (think of how caring he was in wakkos wish. also this will not stop them by the way do you think dot would simply let this slide.. NO WAY) due to max’s role in the kingdom, he’s able to get them a place to stay in the castle (they cause havoc once or twice but queen minnie thinks they’re silly). when yakko finds out that the king is missing and queen minnie doesn’t know about the warners’ parents (they have somewhat of an idea that they were well known, but haven’t figured out they were royalty.) the quest continues, dot and wakko swearing up and down to stay on their best behavior and not move an inch (LIES!)
dot and wakko plan to sneakily follow their brother on that little walk until they run into a certain trio of ducks.. none other than HUEY DEWEY AND LOUIE (in KH canon theyre their classic selves but this is an AU so i say they are their dt2017 counterparts..) dewey LOVES adventure and you know who has a history with lost family adventures? exactly. the boys feel for the warners in that sense, and they don’t have much on their plate besides running the shop.. so what’s a little adventure… (oh no guys pls stop being reckless WHERES UNCLE SCROOGE)
meanwhile yakko and max are getting along GREAT. they find out they have quite a lot in common. yakko realizes outside of his sibs, he really doesn’t have any friends, but thinks this is a really good chance to get to know someone and make a friend as well (cough… or more…) and although he may think he’s super smooth and suave he hasn’t really ever actually FELT what it’s like to have a crush, so he is completely taken aback by why he’s sweating so much and fiddling with his hands around this guy he just met a day ago. max is in the same boat, and he’s more obvious about it, but yakko thinks he just is a awkward person (affectionately speaking of course). max opens up to yakko about his current situation, and how even though he loves his dad, he wants to feel like more of a max goof and less of goofy’s son. yakko opens up to max about how he loves his sibs but can’t help but feel worried about letting down his sibs (caring big brother moment </3) all at the same time, yet he doesn’t want to show them a side of him that isn’t silly and collected. max is just like .. oh man i know what that’s like, feeling like you have to be something you can’t always be, but you’ll realize that the people who love you will love you for you. and yakko hugs him. which is unexpected for BOTH of them but it is gladly returned, and then the two cough and turn away from eachother. “uh.. thanks, max. thank you.” “NO PR-*hyuck*oblem” “is that your laugh? oh maxie ol’ pal, no wonder you’re a goof. i like it. *wink* *taps him on the nose*” (cue max exploding inside moment.)
*wakko and dot inside a nearby bush with a pair of binoculars shared by both of them*
“is he crushing?”
“Oh yeah. BIG time.”
(also i love the HC that yakko’s eyes turn into hearts and his tail wags around max that is so cute. i cant.) i picture him looking around and walking into Huey dewey and louie’s store and being like.. hey you guys have sunglasses by any chance?
“uh isn’t it winter?”
“Don’t ask.”
(i have more about this AU i’ll send next time, MORE ADVENTURE !! this was more about them in the beginning stage HAHA)
Ok Hi I literally got to this months late I'm not great at staying on top of my askbox. This is SO cute I love Yakko and Max's bonding, I love the little nose boop, I love Yakko still being a worrywart for his siblings. I LOVE that Yakko catches on REAL fast that he's going to have to start hiding his eyes, he knows right away this is a big time crush, even if he's going to deny everything lol. I share the eye headcanon, although if you're familiar with me and my fics you knew that already. Do you have any of this written somewhere?

Alright then !
-In Wakko's Ha'penny song there a passage where Wakko says he's gonna buy his big bro a new underwear. Now the thing is that underwear in french is "caleçon" whereas pants is "pantalon". Two things important here : they have the same number of syllable and their end sounds the same. Meaning that in a song those two words are interchangeable and it was painfully obvious to me that they could have perfectly put "I could buy my brother new pants " but deliberately choose to put "I could buy my brother a new underwear". This part really cracked me up.
-Remember the joke where Yakko ask Wakko "You're turning in ?" "Turn into what ?" ? Well for the sake of conserving the jokes the translator made Yakko ask "And you, you're alright ?", which was sweet. (the joke translated literally but less accurately would be "And you, you're in shape ?" "In shape of what?")
-At the beginnings of the scene where Pinky misunderstandings lead him to nearly crashing their flying machines twice, Brain tried to end the conversation by saying "nevermind let's just continue". What's notable here is that in french he is very cheerful about it. Saying "Don't worry" in a tone that make it clear he really isn't annoyed. He's in a good mood that not even Pinky usual pinkyness can soar and it's hearable ! You can't miss it especially since in french Brain has a very deep supervillain voice that make him seems very cold 99,99% of the time.
-They added a James Bond references here and I don't know if it's the translator that couldn't resist putting it here or if it was an improv' of the voice actor that was kept but there's a time where Salazar tells Plotz "your mission if you accept it-"
-When the Goodfeathers bump into Pinky and the Brain flying machine and make them all fall (for the third time for Pinky and the Brain lol) in the original everyone is screaming incoherent things and we hear mostly the Goodfeathers. In the french dub the Goodfeathers are just screaming generic "AAAAAAHHHH" in the background but you can clearly hear Pinky (or was it actually >Pinky and not one of our dear pigeons ? Idk) screams : "I want to fly- I want to fly !!!!. And then there's Brain screaming at the top of his lung "MOOOMMMYYYY HEEEEEEELP". Did I mention that Brain had a very deep, serious mastermind villain voice in french ? XD
-There's no proper word for "cuteness" in french (there are for cute but not for cuteness) and instead of turning the sentences in another way so to not have to use it the translator just made the captain of the guard use a made-up word (which always sound a little silly in french). It honestly suits him well and his way of talking, I'm happy with that decision :)
-And finally my favorite change of the French Dub which I was very disappointed it wasn't a detail that wasn't in the original dub : at the end when The Brain say "preparing the sequel where we try to takeover the kingdom then the world !!!!" their end song play. In English the version with the voices not corresponding with any characters play. In French the version where the Warners sing that ending song plays ! And it does when the camera show the water tower !! The implication being that the Warner Brothers and Sister themselves are singing it from their Throne Room which implies that they know that their prime minister is trying to overthrow them and are somewhat supportive of that effort. And I just found it so hilarious and in character, I wanted to share !!! Reboot please make a sequel where Pinky, the Brain and Pharfignewton are trying to overthrow the kingdom "in the shadow" while the Siblings are fully aware of it and do absolutely nothing to stop them, preferring letting karma follow its path XDDD.
(Sorry if it was kinda messy, it's late for me right now, hope you enjoyed !)
OMG THANK YOU FOR SENDING ALL THESE FRENCH DUB FACTS??? this was so interesting, i love the bits about pinky and brain so much. i always wonder how some of the harder-to-translate jokes get handled and this list gave so much insight
Tumblr media
if anyone else has little fun facts from literally any of the dubs please share!

concept doodle for au
click the keep reading for lore if you want idk
————
so you want lore? okay
heres the lore:
you wanna know why wakko doesnt stick his toungue out?
he does it when alone, and rarely around his sibs bcs he wants to look "mature" since he feels like its "childish" .aka MASKING
he does his best to take good care of his lil sibs. he makes sure that hes not the one to eat all the food and does his hardest to pick out equal portions
when his brother and sister are fighting, he often starts getting anxious and tells them off
wakko's not great at comforting others according to himself but he tries his hardest and it seems as though his little siblings appreciate it, and that thought alone makes himself feel better. he hugs them, assuring he loves them and softly shushes them telling them its okay
----
dot is the middle child, the older sister to yakko, she sees wakko as a good older brother, and sees he tries.
she does her best to be the good influence on yakko when wakko cant be, and even if he is being the influence, dot does her hardest to help out
when she notices either of her brothers feeling down, she goes up and cheers them up by letting them borrow some plushies she owns while they vent to her if they so choose to (she prys a bit but not overbearingly). sometimes, if she thinks theyre feeling especially down, shell just let them own it. she gets wakko to buy her more though
----
yakko is the little talkative baby brother of the 3. he looks up so much to his older brother and sister. he loves geography. he wears his overalls.
he likes to tease his big sis about the fact that hes just slightly taller than her, but stops (or at least tones it down) when he realizes that shes getting geniuinely mad at him. afterwards he apologizes
if he finds one of his big siblings feeling down, he'll comfort them by throwing words of encouragement their way and then tells them that theyre the best big siblings in the world
.........
okay zo the lores over end of story /hj
i want to doodle these more :)
