Insane to me that people, including other film makers, are so ready to throw down against Scorsese. If the trolley problem was the entirety of marvels output on one track and one more Scorsese film on the other, I’d ram that bitch through the mcu so hard it would obliterate every trace of iron man from time and space. Gripped with ideas but….. the panelling………….

#banging my head against the wall #Im probably thinking abt it too hard but ive never given much thought abt executing my ideas till now #usually I just get out as many things as I can in messy sketches but because this one has Structure and Unspoken Thoughts that need to be #conveyed properly using mood and emotion than words I actually need to be a little deliberate abt how I go about expressing it #i found some tips for composition and going thru my comics for reference and trying to line it up with what I have in mind #but the mood im going for is more of a quiet looming dread.. like. yknow when a bunch of bad memories start rushing out while your mind #is in the present. im thinking of having paralleling panels to kind of build on symmetry or making comparisons to a past experience #i was thinking of having another set of overlapping panels showing the characters reaction to those thoughts in real time like a pencil #slipping out of their hand and falling to the floor but I don’t wanna clutter the page too much so maybe not #I don’t have much experience writing comics I just like to read em.. I’m sure it’ll be at least decent for a first attempt. hopefully #that way I can build up confidence for my other zelda comic ideas heh #without saying too much….. the idea I have in mind is about fort hateno and children’s nursery rhymes ;)#yapping

What Deacon thinks: what did that mean? did he want me to wear a collar too? why else would he mention my neck? i mean, if he /asked/ me i would wear one but he didn't so would wearing one be weird?

What Ymber meant: It's nice to be near someone who isn't tethered to this world to serve it with a physical reminder for all to see.

#my characters #this just in ! thats why all the deities in the plot have collars and a chain !#its because THATS THEIR DESIGNATED I AM HERE TO HELP THIS WORLD SYMBOL #they cant remove their collars and thats fine by them - its a constant reminder that they exist to serve #deacon really shouldnt get as much crap as he gets in canon for being weird cause the deities are just a different brand of weird #like its not deacons fault that apparently you can say nice neck with no underlying desire #but he cant say hi would you please possess me i want to know what its like to have someone else in my body #like thats really not something you should pin on deacon YET EVERY deity is like wow what a lil weirdo #he also just really wants to please ymber so if ymber asked he would definitely do whatever #on the flip side i need to point out that deacon very specifically doesnt ask ymber for things nor does he pray for things #and it drives ymber up a wall because this is his favorite human who wont ask for anything and he isnt a psychic #he doesnt know what deacon wants or needs and its infuriating cause he exists to serve humanity #and yet this ONE GUY wont let him do things for him #this is very important and i cant believe i mentioned it like a month ago to someone and today #i received gift art of these two and i may never recover #its so perfect and its ymber just looming over deacon telling him that he can pray about anything to him #its also worth pointing out that when i was telling the person about the whole ymber begging for a prayer #its because he realizes that after all this time hes never had a single prayer from deacon - not before nor after the hire #so hes like oh well thats odd hmm #and then begins to talk to deacon like you know people pray to me for lots of things #and deacon looks at him unsure of what this is leading to - did someone offer a weird prayer? ask a weird thing? whatst?#and no - its just ymber saying that people will pray for wealth or an item #or they will express frustration if something is lost or broken despite it not being ymbers fault so deacon just stares #he has no idea what this is going to end on really so he points out 'well you do like to think you break people'#and ymber just ASDFASDFSADF STOP OK NEXT POINT people pray to me to bless relationships with happiness #and thats fascinating so deacon is like wow can you actually do that?#and ymber is so stressed as hes like i mean kinda i can simply amplify the positive emotions in gestures #like if someone gives an item out of love then its blessed #he also admits that he cant mask insincerity or malice so those feelings are not hidden nor amplified #and deacon just is impressed bc that is actually VERY cool

I do think it's telling that Tumblr would force people to manually opt in to the boop campaign, preventing users from giving boops - IE reinforcing some positivity through a cute gesture - to people who might not be paying attention to the site for this specific, short interval of time...

...while at the same time auto-opting-in AI scraping and requiring people to manually opt out instead, thus trying to take advantage of people who've left and aren't paying attention to the site.

As cute as the boops are, it really does illustrate that the people running this site have their priorities for user enjoyment versus their own perceived profitability completely backwards.

#i'm really not a fan of what tumblr's become vs. what it was like before i left for twitter #and now that twitter's tanked and tumblr's only gotten worse it's really hard to muster the energy to be online #especially since sites like bluesky are so dead but at least it's dead without the looming threat of corporate malarkey #there are some people I really want to spam-boop!!!! so if they show up later they'll just see a wall of boops!!#but i can't right now because they're not terminally on this site which is perfectly valid and reasonable

I cleaned the hobby room and I'm very happy, but I cannot share a pic bc it's still so messy by my inner Pinterest standards.

#Also this is the diaper drying room #Koni is an idiot #Problem is that visual clutter annoys me AND I'm an out of sight out of mind person so worst combo #We had a spare kallax after the office got redecorated and brought it up #But the weaving things stuck out which annoyed me even if it was great for yarn #The old pax that used to do all the storage was still looming #We had planned to move that one into the attic but it just won't fit #So I started to move my stuff from the kallax back to the pax with the idea to yeet the kallax and maybe replace it with a smaller one #Bc the wife did like it for their stuff #But it turned out I really dislike getting yarn from the pax bc it involves opening a door #While I do like it hiding away the weaving things I don't use most of the time #So I moved the pax to another wall (it turned out to be screwed to the book case which I didn't know so that was fun)#And now all the clutter stuff can live in there!

I am not wholly sure the dialogue wasn't changed from "Chinese" to "man" just to avoid the confusion, keeping the malapropism for the name "Confucius". Meanwhile, Midge's skirt fluctuates wildly.

Or I wonder if they might have kept "Chinese" if the word "Chinaman" wasn't in the next panel? We are they a weird job retouching Midge's skirt in this panel at first.

Most significant is the second panel.

White pants are in now. Through it all, Betty keeps the same skirt length.
