If Jiang Cheng is captured or killed, they'll kill Madame Yu and Uncle Jiang and Jiang Cheng. Jiang Yanli is an heir, but not one that can lead their people into battle, and they won’t bother keeping hostages for her benefit.

Wei Wuxian could do it – but with Jiang Cheng gone, she loses her place in the clan, she can't become the wife of their future sect leader if he’s dead. She’s the logical one to lose.

Jiang Cheng is going to kill her. But they’re getting too close to the inn.

She pays a boy to take the medicine and a note back to them in an hour’s time, then whistles, clear and bright cutting through the crowd. The Wen soldiers look at her and she’s hungry and tired but this is her clan’s life on the line here, her sister’s, her fiance’s. “Looking for me?”

There’ a moment of stillness then they’re surging forward and she’s running and they’re chasing and she’s very, very good but they’re fresh. She needs to go someplace they won’t follow.

They’re not too far from Yiling, she thinks.

Jiang Cheng is going to kill her.

He wants to go after her, but he doesn’t even know where she is, and that would mean leaving A-jie defenseless on her own, which he can’t do, and Wei Wuxian would never forgive him for doing anyway.

They set a punishing pace to Jin territory, which is where the disciples were instructed to meet up with them. A bit of gamble, but Wei Wuxian had pointed out that Jin Guangshan would likely be playing both sides of the war to his advantage, which is as close to neutral territory as they were going to get.

Once he delivers A-jie to the rest of their disciples, he can leave them to protect her and can leave her to organize them and he can go after Wei Wuxian. He thinks that three hostages is probably one too many – two too many, really, and he wonders how long it will be before his mother’s mouth gets her killed. If they do put her and Wei Wuxian together, that would move up that timetable exponentially.

Part of him is scared Wei Wuxian’s already dead. The rest of him knows better.

If she were dead, the Wen would be flaunting and bragging about. If they’d killed her, they’d be using it to draw him out, but so far there’s been nothing.

Of course, she ruins his plans like always because just when he’s getting ready to go out searching, she appears in the camp and grabs his shoulders and says, “You’ll never guess what I figured out!”

She’s been missing for almost three weeks and just as soon as he feels like he can breathe again he’s going to strangle her. “You!” he hisses and then he’s grabbing her, yanking her into his chest and holding her so tightly that she probably can’t breathe either, although for a different reason.

She’s hugging him back just as tightly, which makes him feel slightly less like he’s losing his mind. He pulls back and she’s wearing robes that she definitely stole and – “Why do you have a flute?”

This was written for May 2024 but with the intention to be timeless, so even if you find it later there might be a message for your next month.

We'll look into your energy coming into the month, but also what will be the theme/area of focus and what you'll need to pay attention to, as well as the surprises that might come your way.

It's my first time doing a pick a card like this so we'll see how it turns out! I love doing those privately though.

As always, be mindful that this is a general reading meant for multiple people so it might not be 100% fitting for your situation, and that it's based on the energy you hold at the moment of selecting a pile that draws you to one of them.

For your energy coming into the month, I see you being in a state of being in tune with your heart, opening up to the possible rise of a new romantic connection. I get the sense that you're cautiously optimistic about it, because while you feel confident within yourself and in a happy place, you're also aware that it's too early to tell. But you're not letting that deter you and you're fully embracing your own power, feeling good about yourself and where you're at while looking ahead hopefully and waiting for an opportunity to move forward. I think for you the process of the month ahead has already started a bit before the start of the new month and you're continuing the process.

When it comes to the theme of the month, I see the importance of putting your emotional fulfillment at the forefront and being actively working towards it. For the general vibe of this pile, it feels a bit overwhelming like there is so much to pay attention to that you are somewhat disconnected from yourself as a result, because your feelings are so confusing that you get lost in them. There are A LOT of court cards, which may mean that there is a situation that brings the intervention of a lot of different people, perhaps it will be busy at work, or something involving family, creating a very messy situation where everyone has something to say and you can't hear yourself anymore. Really there is so much external influences here that I had a hard time picking up on YOU until the end of the reading.

For the energy you have coming into the month, I really think you are in a committed relationship with someone (and if not it's not your pile), but there is a big disharmony here. It seems one of you is on the way out of the relationship (represented by the King of Wands), and the fact that the Queen of Wands shows as a challenge later in the reading, I'm getting that this person already has someone in mind. It seems you are longing for the way the relationship used to be and it feels over, but you are having difficulties moving on right now. It's also possible you're just longing for the idea of Love altogether and wishing you could drop everything you have right now to run towards it. There is a choice to be made but right now at the end of the month, you are not making a move one way or another.

The theme of the month to come for you pile 2 makes a lot of sense considering what I already wrote. You will have to focus on your own clarity and get grounded in yourself, trying to find stillness in the chaos that surrounds you in order to get the answers you need, based on your own guidance. I'm also getting that you feel resistant to change and the call of life, and that you may feel a bit dead inside and numb as a result. There is a need to find excitement for the miracle of life again which has been lost due to your complex situation. ''The meaning is in the Middle'' is what's written on the card and writing down in case it speaks to anyone.

For what you'll consciously focus on this month, I'm getting just like...trying not to break down completely and at the same time keeping up with your demanding job and practical life issues. Perhaps this impending breakup is causing financial stress and you don't know how things will turn out. So your goal will be navigating that in order to stay on top of things both mentally and professionally/financially.

Okay this is where it finally clicks because I was confused whether you where the one with the third party of the one who is perhaps cheated on. With the King of Pentacles longingly looking at the Queen of Wands (the third party I mentioned before - don't take gender into account though) standing next to him, I'm getting that YOU are wondering how to welcome this new passionate connection into your busy life and how to make it fit from a practical standpoint with your current relationship. The Queen seems to be both a challenge and an opportunity, I don't necessarily get that this Queen is a bad omen, it's just a difficult situation that require a choice on your part.

For the unexpected thing that will happen this month, I'm not getting a particular event but rather, how it will change the course of what you're doing. This surprise will force you to weight your options and start pursuing what you desire, getting out of that rut you are in. There will be progress moving forward as I don't think you'll be left indecisive for too long. There is a sense of urgency here, whether it's perceived or true, you will feel it deeply and it will push you into actions. However, you can't seem to let go a bit in order to get things flowing again and you remain stuck, fearing everything is going to go to waste if you relax a bit.

Canon be damned I'm making a backstory AU for the bishops and it's been living in my head rent free. Couple of sketches while I'm finishing my pfp drawing (that's also part of the AU)

AU rambling below the cut

I think that in canon the sibling dynamic is more of a 'brothers in arms' thing... but I just find it really interesting to think about what circumstances could have led the bishops to become as reprehensible as they do, outside of power corrupting them over the course of millennia (found family that genuinely care for one another but inadvertently feed into each others' insecurities in an unhealthy way. The power aspect doesn't help)

The other reason I wanted to make this AU thought it would be interesting to have all the bishops meet under different circumstances. Leshy and Heket are travelling alone for years before they meet Shamura and Narinder in this AU, and Kallamar is the last to join the group. All of these feed into the dynamics between them.

Don't want to say too much because I want to explore most of this in comic form and any more would probably lean too far into spoiler territory but... yeah. Heads up, focus will be mostly on Heket and Leshy for the foreseeable future because I've focused on building up their backstory the most so far. They're also the only characters I've figured out designs for LOL

You had always had a thing for painting you took interest of how bright and bold paintings can get and loved how the brushes strokes against the paper your and that what you were doing right know sitting in your mothers front yard painting whatever came to mine but your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a soccer ball that flew and knocked over your Easel

Oh no…I’m sorry, Miss” a young boy about the same age as you ran over to help pick up your Easel you noticed he had dark green eyes almost the shade of black and teal eyelashes

It’s fine I was going to redo it anyway” you say brushing the off your cheek and helping the boy pick up your Easel “Wow you painted this, it looks amazing” the young boy said in awe staring at the painting

Oi…Rin what’s taking you so long to get the bal-“ the other boy with reddish brown hair and teal eyes similar to the other boy he looked at you both stared at each other for a few seconds before the othwe boy who you learned name is Rin interrupted “Hey big brother, you have to see her drawing its so cool” Rin said wanting to show off my painting to his older brother

The older boy then looked away with a small blush on his cheeks “Rin we have no time for that come on we have to finish practicing” the older boy said now avoiding eye contact with you “Oh Right, see you later Miss” Rin said running off to his brother

You shook your head at the odd moment and decided to head in for a shower since you’re covered in paint unaware of the older brother watching you as you head in.

A few weeks pass since the odd interaction with the two brothers a they both have been visiting you especially the younger brother he always sits down next to you watching you paint while the older brother stand off leaning against the tree just looking at you. You were starting to think that maybe he’s just to shy to get to know you but you already know at lot about Rin you know that he’s 8 and he really loves soccer and wants to be like his older brother who you learned name is Sae. The have been coming to watch you paint a few days out of the week know and Sae starts to come out of his shell every visit you both begin talking and he even invited you to watch him and Rin practice. He even taught you some tricks you grew closer to the itoshi brothers and as a few months pass you developed crushing on both of them and they both secretly had crushes on you two which made them hangout with you everyday until the day Sae said you traveling to Spain you and Rin grew said but told him good luck on his trip.

You and Rin grew closer when Sae left he continued playing soccer and helped you learn some tricks “Hey do you have any plans for the future” Rin said sitting next to me on the soccer field watching the sun rise

Sae soon arrived and you both smiles and greeted Sae but he both stopped in front of you with a cold and emotionless expression on his face the welcome back didn’t go as expected Sae told Rin that he as completely unless soccer player and that he should quite his dream which made the two get into a heated argument and Rin walks off with tears in his eyes

He just sits there staring at the grass his mind empty

“Hey you okay” you say softly trying to comfort him

He suddenly grabs your hands and pulls it into his lap and he looks at you and you can see the faint tear marks on his cheeks

“Please stay with me” he says in a quite tone looking at you

You nod and lean against his shoulder you two stay there in silent for a minute before he spoke again

“You love me right?” he say in a quite tone

You looked at him shock what’s going on first it was his brother now him

“Yes I love you as my friends” you say nervously hoping he’ll drop the conversation

“No in a romantic way” he says looking at you his teal eyes staring right at yours

I can’t tell you that” you frowning looking at not wanting to make him even more sad

your head spinning for all the things that happened today Rin watches you as you walk away making a declaration to himself that he will get you to love him

Throughout the weeks they both have been taking you out, Sae taking you to fancy places like 5 star restaurants while Rin took you to something more comfortable like picnics and you were getting quite overwhelmed until it came to the day they both showed up to your house both asking you out

Come on Y/N let’s go to the movie I got tickets to your favorite movie” Sae said grabbing my hand

Rin glared at Sae then grabbed my other hand

Come with me, Y/N” Rin said harshly glaring at Rin

Wait” you say to both of them, “stop this is getting real tiring of both of you fighting over me” you say moving your hand out of both of there grips

Rin and Sae both stop dead in their tracks as you pull away from them. Sae frowned, like he had never even entertained the idea that you would reject him. Rin looks angry, like he always does.

Both of them is accustomed to getting what they want, The idea of competing with his own brother for the attention of a girl is a foreign concept to them both.

Rin snatches your hand and tugs you toward him, refusing to let you out of his grip. Sae lets out a short huff of irritation and takes a step toward you, trying to pull you back toward him.

“Like she’s a possession for you to fight over,” he says sarcastically, glaring at his twin.

Rin ignores him and keeps his grip tightly on your hand, pulling you away from Sae and closer toward him.

“Mine,” he says again. “I saw her first.”

The two brothers now have a firm grip on either hand, and you're being pulled in opposite directions. The tug-of-war intensifies until they both suddenly stop pulling and just… stare at each other.

"Let go," Sae says through gritted teeth.

"She's mine," Rin says again.

They both stare at each other, neither saying anything else. The silence hangs in the air, tense, as the two brothers continue to hold on to your hands, not letting go even despite how uncomfortable (and possibly painful) the situation is.

Stop” I say annoyed “this is really tiring I love you both okay” I say softly

"So you love us... both?" Sae asks, not yet letting go of your hand.

Rin remains silent, still gripping your hand, but he no longer tries to pull you closer to him.

"Yes," you say, feeling the tension in the room start to finally lessen. "I love you both. I've always known that, but it just seemed like one of us would end up getting hurt if I admitted it to you both."

Both Sae and Rin take a deep breath, seeming to process the situation.

"So what do we do now?" Sae asks casually.

Rin is still staying silent, but the tension in his body has visibly disappeared. He releases your hand and steps back from you, taking a moment to compose himself.

"Yeah," he says, "what do we do now?"

"I..." Rin begins, but you cuts him off without hesitation.

"Sharing," you says confidently.

Rin raises an eyebrow, as if not quite sure that's what he'd heard.

"Sharing," you repeats, "you both could share me. It'll be simple. You'll both just date me, and we'll work things out among us. You both just... take turns for dates, and-"

Rin is surprised. He has never imagined it being this simple. He expected more conflict between the two of them.

"Yes," Sae says, nodding. "I agree. We can share her. That way, no one gets hurt. It's better than- than fighting over her."

Rin still looks a little skeptical of how easy this has been, but he doesn't disagree with Sae's logic.

Rin remains silent but nods in agreement anyway. Both brothers were in agreement on that being the best course of action. And for some time, that's how things went. The two brothers alternated in taking you out, spending time with you, and overall making you feel special without any of the conflict. You weren't sure how things could be going so well between the two of them, but you weren't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Both boys seemed content with the way things were going, sharing your time and affection equally.

no joke but what I really want for Buddy Daddies as a fandom is to make fanart and fanfic post present time ep12 where Rei wears an arm orthosis when working.

I think varied disability aids being represented would be fantastic, and personally would write Rei as someone being deeply proud of something he's done for his family, but also understanding with time that using an orthosis also helps him at work and in raising Miri. with a giant portion of mobility/motorics aids being represented by prosthetics, seeing more variety and exploring it in fiction would also help making a step in normalising disability treatments.

An underrated aspect of drawing 919 I forgot to mention in my last post: have you ever wondered why I have a tendency sometimes to draw the Wunsoc sweaters as somewhat large and baggy? I think it’s fun to imagine that they might grow into them, just as they’ll “grow into” their role in the Society :)
