I saw your thoughts on Caleb and money stream now and I agree but I have a thought I've always wondered and asking you cause on similar thought on what you posted.

How much/when was Beau getting paid for her own work at the Soul? She was a member the whole campaign and got a promotion in the middle of it.

She also was a major behind the scenes part of the peace deals between the Empire and the Dynasty, got MAJOR connections in the Dynasty that helped another member in their work and would be great inroads on the Soul being able to set up in the Dynasty as learners and maybe even get a Library set up there down the road, AND brought in a huge case of corruption with witness statements, proof, and the offending party.

Ooo this is an interesting question; if I had to guess, whatever apprenticeship program the Cobalt Soul has set up probably pays in room and board with maybe some kind of stipend, though how that would work while she was out traveling, I'm not sure. Strictly speaking, she was still in training until she was promoted to expositor—the tracks for Cobalt Soul members are a bit mystifying, especially since sometimes expositors are framed as a kind of shadow entity with the organization, and at other times as essentially just a separate track but a known entity regardless.

Granted, it's hard to tell how much that's just because we're aware of it, and the Nein are interfacing with some high-up government officials who would know about that kind of thing—much like how Scourgers are something of a boogeyman in the Empire, but Essek, who works in intelligence for a foreign government, knows what they are offhand—but considering there's some indication that Beau can and does use her title as a weight to throw around, I would be more inclined to say they're more of a specialist entity. So people who are new or aren't really paying attention to their work wouldn't necessarily know about them, but they're not by any means a secret.

So it's not entirely clear to me what her official position within the organization was prior to promotion, especially while they were letting her run around on her own. However, in the vein of the other post (picking what's funniest), I'd like to think that when she took off they were like, "Hey, you're not going through the training modules or living under our roof? You wanna be your own person? Then we don't have to pay your stipend! 😌" and only started tossing her salary into an account somewhere when she was officially promoted to expositor. Like yeah, yeah, you might've now made friends with the Bright Queen, but you also could've easily gotten yourself imprisoned if not beheaded as a spy in the process, and in the interest of international relations, we would not have claimed you.

Castiel doesn’t know how he got from the Empty to the floor of a barn. The last thing he remembers is saying his confession before falling with Dean onto the hay. And Dean has been different since his rescue, has thrown out all boundaries he’d ever said were customary. Humans always manage to surprise Castiel. Dean surprises him most of all.

I don’t know about you guys, but I sure as hell can’t get enough of all those beautiful, emotional and powerful post confession fix it fics!

This story is, of course, no exception.

It is told from Cas’ POV and it starts with him ending up on the floor of some barn, quite startled by the sudden change in scenery. Apparently he has been rescued from the Empty, but his memory leaves much to be desired, the last thing he recalls confessing his feelings right before the Shadow took him.

Castiel usually wouldn’t mind not remembering anything about the Empty, but soon enough he notices a shift in Dean’s behavior that leaves him rather puzzled more often than not. Because instead of being awkward and keeping his distance, like Castiel originally assumed, Dean stays by his side the whole time, initiates physical contact in such an excessive amount that even an angel of the Lord gets dizzy from it, and overall just suddenly acts so affectionate in his own special way that Castiel has no idea what to do with it.

And so Castiel starts to wonder whether the memories he has lost might have been very vital after all.

This story is told from Castiel’s POV and follows his utter confusion perfectly. The poor guy is so very bewildered why Dean is acting so differently all of a sudden and it overwhelms him extremely more often than not. He is so utterly torn throughout most of the story, between calling Dean out on it, in the process risking losing all the attention, and just letting things be and enjoying it while he can.

I certainly couldn’t put this fic down as soon as I started reading, far too excited for the moment Castiel would finally figure it all out.

Hope this cheers you up. I was thinking in the car the other day about Skywarps lesson to Megatron and Magnus about the extra glyphs and had a brainwave.

Soundwave was describing the glyphs in a line format which was not wrong but also not correct, my thought was the glyphs surrounded the sentence like electrons on an atom, which when put into a 2d space like a diagram on atoms, compressed into a sentence turns into...
