[ cw: death mention / family death mention / ]
Mhmm I sure love thinking of the reality where we did get more time to really know Karai and her dynamics with the bros. Losing her hit hard in the finale, but it would’ve hit much, much harder had we known Karai longer and really saw her relationships develop with everyone.
I especially would have been interested in her dynamic with Leo, as past iterations often have the two of them clash in ideals and the like while still sharing many characteristics. Two sides of the same coin, and all that. Her specifically being the bros’ Gram-Gram also adds a whole new dynamic as well.
Imagine how interesting it would be, to have Karai start off on Leo’s side for once, showing wholly just how alike the two are at their cores and bonding as family without the worry of betrayal or animosity that other iterations suffer through, only to have Karai die anyway. Their parting hug and the desperate look of horror Leo wears later on would have hit that much harder, I feel.

straight up not respecting some of the alleged p2 characters' ages as they were given on the VA's papers bc you're telling me this is a 27yo man on the left & a 35(!)yo woman on the right? you jest. this woman is in her 20s at most. she doesn't have a wrinkle of age on her face. just worry. i know men age like milk this is taking the piss. i know patho 2 is the "hot blemishless 20something white(-passing) women" game but at this point own it. don't try lying to me. she doesn't look a day past 29. got friends below 25 with more winkles. in the first half of the 20th century too. where would she be getting her anti-aging serums.
you're telling me this woman who's a chronic worrier, dealing with chronic pain, who smokes like a locomotive to cope is allegedly 5 years Older than this guy who's been drinking himself to sleep for like 5 years.
(mike's mic voice) don't piss me off

you know i do wonder how many sonic characters actually have living parents. like knuckles is the last of his kind so obviously his parents arent around anymore. both guys who could be considered shadows dads are 100 percent confirmed dead. sonic is canonically an orphan im pretty sure. and on the other side of the coin cream is like the only character in the game cast who has a living parent we actually see onscreen. but what about everyone else i dont think theres a straight answer for any other character. other than rouge's mom being mentioned a couple times i Guess but we dont even know anything about her or if shes still alive just that she existed at some point. are these kids constantly putting themselves in danger because they dont have parents around to stop them or because their parents just dont care

on the whole none of the da2 character can really go home theme the game has going on, i find it so interesting merrill is the only one from my knowledge who makes the deliberate choice to leave her home
yes it was a choice forced on her, by people who should have loved her, only to belittle her choice to study something of their culture bc she found worth in it despite it's danger, and frankly belittle her intelligence, but she still looked them and said 'no, i'm going. this is important to me and i am doing this out of love for our people, i won't let you take this from me.' and leaves. once again merrill is one of the strongest dragon age companions in my opinion

God, there’s something about the framing of Shauna beating up on Lottie. To have Lottie place her hands deliberately behind her back. To have her expressly ask the only boys to leave the room—to have her ask Travis to take Javi out of the room, as this kind of scene would normally request a young woman to be removed before the violence can start. To have no slapping, no hair-pulling, but the sheer escalation of grief into brutality. To pull no punches. And to cut in all these slow motion scenes of the women they become—traumatized, grief-stricken, lonely, guilty, dying—dancing, laughing, letting the snow wash away the blood and the pain for a little while. Letting the friendship montage together with the violence. It’s poetic, and it’s awful, and it’s perfectly done in the most haunting sense.

going insane thinking about how the tevinter chantry is like roman catholicism and i wish we got to see more of the schism besides just “one side thinks andraste was a mage and the other side thinks she wasn’t” and what gender their priests are
for example, there’s the irl narrative that pilate didn’t want to kill jesus, he just didn’t want to upset his constituents and it’s actually the fault of the jewish people, didn’t really come about until the 4th century when rome adopted christianity and went “hey it’s kind of a bad look for us because we did kill the guy, we gotta fix that”
like, i wonder if hessarian is a more highly venerated figure in tevinter. i kind of wish he was their invention altogether. i wonder to what extent each faction emphasizes her military involvement (the east sees the rebellion as divinely ordained vs in the west, it’s incidental; after all, she wasn’t the real warlord, her husband was)
