Regarding the difference between tenth doctor and fourteenth doctor, I never read the line that fourteen is more loving than ten as ten being unable to love. It’s quite clear that ten loves his friends and companions, like, a lot. The only difference is that fourteen is better at vocalizing his love than ten due to their personality differences.

Ten is hold back by his trauma and regrets from the time war, so much so that the idea of being the last of his kind is so ingrained in his psyche, that he cannot process the thought that it is entirely possible to have a happy life just as the humans. You could say that ten, whose biggest enemy is none other than he himself, is doomed to end his life in a tragedy from the very beginning. In contrast, fourteen has three regeneration to heal and grow from his own trauma, thus gradually loses the “lonely god” aspect of ten and becomes much more affectionate.

It is not that fourteen loves others more than ten; it is that fourteen is finally capable of saying those lovingly confession that ten never had the chance to say in his life time. In other words, fourteen is actually “helping” ten to say what he would actually think, rather than bottling them up and suffering from the consequences afterwards.

With the popularity of Mouthwashing as a game, I've seen people who talk about it talk about the mouthwash itself as a metaphor for Jimmy (and they're definitely correct in their read imo), but dear god NO ONE is talking about it as a potential metaphor for Pony Express itself as a company.

This is an item considered to be an essential. It is a dental hygiene product dentists would generally recommend you have. 99.9% of bacteria gone - but this one is loaded with sugar. Using this is going to be detrimental to its own cause and probably worse than using no mouthwash at all.

Pony Express? No matter your start, it seems like a good, stable job and a promising future. People will always need goods transported to other planets. It even has a cute mascot representing pride in their work that they sell toys of to kids!

The members of the Tulpar all (mostly) had reasons to be there, even at radically different life stages. Reasons why they needed the work, and reasons why it should fulfill those reasons and enrich their lives.

It was meant to be Jimmy's ticket away from struggling on earth. It was meant to be Daisuke gaining direction in life. It was meant to be Anya finally getting into medical school. It was meant to be Swansea gaining a stable and fulfilling life as he made it into sobriety, and it was meant to be Curly making it further up into his career path with glowing words of praise.

As per capitalism's usual spiel that we were even shown in the game itself via public domain cartoon, taking this job was meant to be joyous opportunity and innovation for their lives; but with so many flaws in the system around them around them - including the words on those posters - just trying to find benefit in the system they needed in order to survive was nothing more than fatal poison. Gonna say something controversial.

Ford Pines is a nuanced character who is neither good nor bad. Absolving him of his crimes is actively a detriment to his character and does a disservice to the storytelling of Gravity Falls, but defining him exclusively by his mistakes without taking the time to understand him is a purposefully bad faith take that actively makes your enjoyment of the show worse.

He is neither a good or bad person, because "good" people and "bad" people aren't real. There's just people. And people fuck up sometimes.

If no one fucked up and if no one held onto those fuckups sometimes out of sheer desperation, the world of fiction would be way more boring, unengaging, and dull.

Ford Pines is a mess and I don't want him to be sanitized or demonized. I just want him to be a mess.

Also, I refuse to entertain the discourse as to whether acespec people are “oppressed” or not, but I will say it’s really fucking lonely — especially if you fall somewhere on the spectrum that’s a little more unconventional.

I’ve discussed many times before how I feel absolutely no attraction whatsoever except towards my lovely partner. I went through the phases queer men tend to: exploring many types of pornography and cruising on Grindr. I really tried, and none of it has ever done anything for me. I’ve literally been told many times that I can’t be demisexual because demis will still fantasise and consume porn (although that doesn’t line up with my understanding that demis require a close bond to feel sexual attraction, but never mind), and I’ve even been accused of having some weird internalised Christian puritan shit going on because I genuinely cannot comprehend ever looking at or thinking about someone in that way who isn’t my man. As if anything about this is a choice for me and it is offensive to them somehow. As if only feeling attraction to one person is like… “worse” than never feeling any attraction at all. I’ve never once shamed others for how they experience sex and sexual attraction and never would, yet people act like that’s what I’m inherently doing just by speaking about my own experiences.

So no, I won’t say whether acespec people are “oppressed” or not because honestly, when is this shit ever going to come up in conversation and ever be that relevant? But the fact I don’t feel I can talk about it even amongst other queer people, even amongst others in the acespec community, kind of speaks for itself.

the thing about rosquez is that it IS a massively interesting story between two brilliant riders with an impact and tension we still feel today but. The way these two are discussed by some fans online is specifically quite irritating to me.. sometimes there’s not so much insight and analysis of them as athletes and people as there is platitudes about the “tragedy” and the “narrative” of it all, and there is tragedy and narrative there, it’s just not being discussed in any fruitful way. and often I see Vale’s personality and career and previous rivalries flattened to one that is very marc-centric, even when many interesting things about valentino have nothing to do with marc.
