You were sitting on Steven's couch watching The Princess Bride while eating your cup noodles together, enjoying what the both of you considered a perfect date. Around half way into the movie, Steven leaned over and started to gently kiss your neck, his hand resting on your thigh.

But as you shifted your body to lean in closer to him, the cup of noodles balancing on your thigh fell over, completely soaking your clothes in the broth. "Oh, shit!" You quickly stood up, setting the empty styrofoam cup on the table. "I'm so sorry, Steven. Lemme grab some napkins or-"

Steven stood up and took your hand, bringing it up to his lips to press a gentle kiss to the back. "It's fine, my love. Listen, I'll clean this up while you get changed, alright? I have a shirt you can wear while your clothes are in the laundry."

Tears pricked your eyes when you saw the mess you made, a wave of guilt washing over you. "Are you sure? I don't wanna make you clean up after me.."

"I'm sure, love. Follow me." You followed Steven over to his dresser, taking the blue t-shirt he gave you. "You go get changed then bring me your wet clothes. I'll throw 'em in the wash, yeah?"

"Yeah," You said, smiling when he kissed your head. As you changed into Steven's shirt, it felt as though butterflies were flying around in your belly. You and Steven had only been dating for three and a half months, so he's never actually seen you in something as small as an oversized shirt.

You slowly walked out of the bathroom, making your way over to where Steven was pressing a towel against the wet spot on the couch. "Hey, where should I put these?" You held up your dirty clothes, looking around for a laundry bin.

Steven glanced over at you, then quickly looked back, his eyes practically glued to your legs. "Um, put what?" He shook his head, looking up at the bundle of clothes. "Oh! Right- um, yeah, you can just set 'em on the table there. Yeah.." His eyes slipped down to look at your legs one more time, before he found his self control and looked away.

You couldn't help but smirk at him; you saw the blush he so badly tried to hide from him. And you couldn't help but think it was absolutely adorable. "Alright." You dropped the laundry on the table, then made your way over to him, sitting down next to the wet spot so your thighs would only be inches from his face.

Steven slowly looked up at you, his blush growing when he saw the grin on your face.

"What is it, Steven?" You whispered, the tension between the two of you growing stronger by the second.

Steven's lips turned up into a smirk of his own, this time his eyes shamelessly ran along your lower half, taking in every detail. "Nothing, love. It's just that you look so good in my shirt.." He slowly licked his lips, his eyes flickered back up to look at you.

You couldn't stand it anymore. You leaned down and kissed him, your hands rested on his cheeks, keeping his head in place. Any nervousness you felt earlier disappeared with every kiss you and Steven exchanged.

Hello darling! Of course you can! Sorry it took me so long to write this! I'm currently reconstructing my room and haven't had a lot of time to sit and write a lot 💕

This had to have been the fourth worst day ever for Steven Grant. Sure, he got his job back at the museum, but at what cost? Donna still walked all over him, JB still calls him "Scotty," and not to mention the Karen Moms he has to deal with every hour.. And then there was you.

The rest of the world may make him feel worthless, but you gave him a purpose. You made him feel seen. He honestly felt like he didn't deserve you. Especially when he came home and found you sitting on the couch in his t-shirt, reading one of his favorite books in the spotless flat.

"Hey baby!" You draped your bookmark along the inside of the book then set it on the coffee table, making your way over to Steven. But as you approached him, you could actually see the tears in his eyes, threatening to spill over. "Darling? What's wrong?"

Steven cleared his throat, glancing around the flat. "You cleaned?"

"Yeah? Is that okay?" You cupped his cheek, pressing your body against his.

"I- Why?"

"I figured it would be a nice surprise. Last night you were talking about how stressed you were about the mess, so I decided to clean up today. What's wrong?"

The tears in his eyes finally fell, slowly rolling along his cheeks. You had listened to him. Actually listened to him. And you had cared enough to do something about it. Gods, he loved you so much it hurt. He really didn't deserve you.

Steven suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into a tight hug, hiding his face in between your neck and shoulder. "Bloody hell, I love you so much.. I really don't deserve you."

"What? Steven, of course you deserve me. Silly boy, it's me who doesn't deserve you." You pressed a kiss to the side of his head, tightening your grip around him.

Steven shook his head, taking a deep breath as he pulled back just enough to look at you. "I love you."

"I love you too, baby. Would you like to sit on the couch and watch a movie with me for awhile?" You asked as you leaned up and kissed his cheek, grinning at the light shade of pink that crept onto his cheeks.

Steven just smiled at you. "I'd love that, darling."

I’m rewatching Moon Knight while I’m cleaning the house bc cleaning the house sucks and I’m trying to keep it ✨fun✨ but ANYWAY I wanna talk about this scene real quick

Because this is the sneakiest little bit of forshadowing/plot clues I have EVER seen and I fucking love it

‘Worm’ is Khonshu’s lil nickname for Steven, for lack of a better term, so you would assume that Khonshu’s speaking to Steven here. He does, after all, call Steven ‘worm’ 95% of the time from here on out.

However.

This is the first time Steven and Khonshu have ever interacted. Steven, up until this point, has never had anything to do with the Moon Knight side of the business. And yet Khonshu reacts to Steven’s sudden appearance like it’s happened before. “Go back to sleep” has a very this is not for you to take care of kind of vibe. It’s not a dismissal. It’s a go back to sleep and I’ll talk to you later.

And then Khonshu immediately follows up with this.

And he says it in a panicked and frazzled sort of tone. Khonshu sounds worried here. Which I find a little odd, since Marc has always been easily able to take back the body from Steven—up until this point at least. Steven has never been a concern for Khonshu because he knows and, for the most part, trusts Marc to keep Steven out of it. And Marc has largely been successful with that. Steven’s appearance here should be no different, and, at the end, for all of Steven’s reappearances, it wasn’t different. Marc took the body back and Marc handled it like he always does. There was no need for Khonshu to be worried.

But then Khonshu says this.

Which I think is a very interesting choice of words.

“Surrender the body” is nowhere near as harsh of a language as Khonshu usually uses with Steven. It’s a command, sure, but it’s also an ask. Surrendering is a voluntary action. And the language Khonshu uses with Steven is never like that. It’s demanding. It’s commands. It’s threats. Khonshu wants Steven gone and he’s not shy about letting Steven know.

We see it right here

He also, if I may point out, calls Steven ‘parasite’ here. Not ‘worm’. ‘Worm’ does not come into play until after this, almost like Khonshu’s trying to cover up a slip up of words.

But anyway.

For as worried as Khonshu sounds here, there is no hesitation when he says “you’re not supposed to be here.” There is no hesitation when he says “surrender the body to Marc” It is instant and it’s direct and he knows exactly who he’s speaking to.

Except he doesn’t.

The idiot’s in control.

Not the worm.

This is when Khonshu realizes who he’s talking to.

This when when Khonshu realizes he’s talking to Steven and not who he thought he was talking to.

And we know Khonshu’s not talking to Marc, so who else could he be talking to? Who would Khonshu know about, who would be able to easily take the body from Marc and keep it, who Khonshu would have interacted with before and would have been panicked and worried about showing up unannounced because he’s not supposed to be there?

Khonshu thought he was speaking to Jake Lockley.

Not Steven.
