-certain foods remind him of you too, snacks and drinks, he remembers all of your favorites and all of your least favorites, he'll see someone drinking something you hate and go “Y/N hates that. “Y/N thinks it's gross,"  "Y/N loves that flavor, it’s their favorite."

*There isn’t one show or anime you can watch alone because he saw you watching it once and got interested so now it’s on the list of shows you have to watch with him

-He caught you watching AOT (attack on titan) without him and said that you were betraying him

-Once he walked in while you were watching a movie before he was getting ready to record, he watched five minutes of it and decided that you couldn’t finish it without him

-“Are you watching it without me?! How could you?!” “Don’t watch the next episode yet, I want to watch it together when I get back home” “Oh! Our show is on! Y/N! Hurry up!”

*He doesn’t mean to but he’ll fall asleep from the sound of your voice

-When he gets back home and it’s late at night, after a long day when he’s in bed he’ll lay next to you and ask you to tell him about your day and even though he really wants to hear it, he’ll fall asleep

-You were telling him about how you went out with a friend and how you saw a poster of him in a cafa while playing in his hair, you should’ve known from the moment his response went from “Really? Then what happened?” To “Mhm…” that he was falling asleep

*Is a very extremely good listener

-He always listens to you with such passion, every time you speak he always makes sure to give you his full attention

*Buys you matching outfits and jewelry

-you went to a souvenir shop once in France, and he saw a cute stand making matching bracelets for married couples, you weren't married at the time, but Jonghyun being so in love with matching with you and showing off how much he loves you, wanted to get them so bad that he told the vender that you were engaged

-bought you a shirt with his face on it as a gag joke but wanted you to like it, you told him that you wouldn't wear it because it was too embarrassing but you surprised him by wearing it to bed every night, once Jinki, Minho, Kibum, and Taemin came over early in the morning and saw you still wearing it and teased you about it

-he convinced you to get secret matching tattoos of your birthdays, you got his, and he got yours, both of you got a tiny little heart above the dates and eventually you convinced him to get another one of your anniversary dates, right under the first with a little heart in between

-"We should get matching rings, oh, or matching necklaces." "Look at what I got!" *shows you a matching Halloween costume of Kagome and Inuyashi

*When he can't sleep, neither can you, he'll be damned if you get to sleep without him

-If he stays up late writing then he'll at first tell you that he's fine and tell you to go to bed, you'll go back and forth with the cliche "Are you sure you want me to go to bed?" And he'll respond, "Yes, I'm sure, go ahead." That'll go on for at least a minute before you "Okay if you say so," and start to walk away and that's when he'll decide that he'd rather you stay up with him (you end up falling asleep on him while he's writing, he thinks it's adorable and eventually, he'll carry you back to the bed and fall asleep with you)

*Hates fighting with you and tries to avoid it at all costs, he'd rather be right and wrong than have you being angry at him

-Once you fought over your heels making you taller than him, you tried to explain that it didn't matter, but Jonghyun refused to add you to the list of people taller than him

-he asked you to at least wear shorter ones but you said no, you both got upset and you decided you weren't going to go and went to undress, but of course, Jonghyun wasn't going to let you just go to bed and be upset, so he apologized and said that it didn't matter

-apologizes with kisses, will smoother you and cling to you until you forgive him

-if you ignore him he'll attach himself to you until you talk to him, you ignored him once before bed and he literally clung to you all night and even in the morning until you finally forgave him

-once he even sat on you and didn't move until you spoke to him

-but when he doesn't apologize first and it's just a small playful argument, he gets so dramatic and loud, the passion he has for winning the argument makes you laugh and almost forget that you were fighting

*when he finally gets to go out with you, he loves dancing with you

-is extremely dramatic when a song you both like comes on and will force you to come to dance with him

-"C'mon baby, it's our song!" You already know when you hear that he wants to dance and won't let up until you do

*when he's hanging out with his members, he always brings you along

-they adore you like a younger sibling (no matter your age), they all view you as a younger sibling in law, Jinki, and Minho spoil you, Kibum constantly takes you shopping and even paid for your hair and nails, Taemin also spoils you and even let you meet Kkoongie and Ddaengie

-they are completely used to the PDA and the very extremely cheesy and dramatic moments you both have

-older brother-in-law Shinee who is ready for you two to get married and basically live inside of each other and boyfriend Jonghyun who constantly tells you that he's going to marry you and never let you go (bc ur trapped lol)

-game nights go from adorable to a war zone in 0.1 seconds

-flips the game over and yells that you were cheating the whole time, he once wiped the whole board because you were about to win after making him pay almost all of his money and taking his houses (you left him with five dollars and no property), he swore you were cheating and won't play monopoly with you again

-you played piano tap one time on the way to practice with him before, and suddenly it turned into "who could get the highest score" You were both neck in neck, and when he suddenly got a call he literally screamed and almost threw his phone out the window

-rock paper scissors...need I say more? It's like winning one billion dollars for all of them and he's no different

*Always puts your relationship first, he's all about making time for you before and after tours or trips, he hates the idea of not spending as much time with you as possible before leaving for weeks or months at a time

-will plan dates weeks in advance so they don't overlap with comebacks, it seemed like too much to you and like he'd get tired of basically making a schedule for time to spend with you, but he actually enjoys it

-he once planned two full weeks of dates, movie nights, dinners, breakfasts, and night outs before a comeback, he ended up spending so much money and you made him promise not to do it again because he'd probably max out the company card if he did

*Randomly sends heartfelt messages when he gets super romantic and misses you while he's away

-they have to tell Jonghyun often to get off his phone, in between sets he tries to text but he gets so caught up in missing you that he'll miss the director telling them to get back in place

-sends voice memos when he can't text and isn't afraid to admit that he's talking to you, everyone can accurately guess that he's talking to you if he's texting

-he once sent an hour-long voice memo while he was out because he thought about the day you met again and get all soft and happy (he literally had just left and was only an hour away)

-will randomly text you like "My heart is aching for you, plz send me pictures of u now or I'll lose my mind" is super dramatic when he misses you and will swear it's the end of the world if he doesn't get to see you before he leave

*Is just super in love with you in general, he loves you so much and you love him just as much

-at night you do your skincare routine together, you put each other's face masks on and tie each other's hair back

-you race to the shower and have extremely wholesome and peaceful moments where you'll wash his hair, and he'll get that spot on your back that you can't reach

-you've even waxed his legs before, it was a very funny moment, he said that it wouldn't hurt at all and that it would feel like a pinch but of course, it hurt and he screamed so loud one of the neighbors knocked on the door and asked if everything was okay

*he can't sleep without holding you, it's so bad that he even has a tiny spray bottle of your perfume that he sprays on pillows when he leaves

-he thinks you smell amazing, he actually started washing his hair with the same shampoo as you and he even uses your lotion because it smells so nice and reminds him of you throughout the whole day.

In conclusion, Jonghyun is an amazing boyfriend and will absolutely adore you <3

2023 is the year when I was able to listen to 'Poet | Artist' songs for the first time... It's so overwhelming that I can't listen again to some songs like 'Before Our Spring (우린 봄이 오기 전에)', it's still so hard for me... But of course, this album is a masterpiece, with so increased emotions in his voice !! 'Take The Dive' is one of my favourite songs, I love everything : the melody, his voice, the effects ; it's like a song in 3D in which we are surrounded by his voice and his charisma. If you guys know me, there are 2 anniversaries for me. Starting positive, this is my 14th anniversary with SHINee and being a blinger. Just 14 years ago in this day, I went to my cousin Natsumi’s (or as we call her Natty) house for her birthday where they would play music, particularly K-pop mainly. My eldest cousin Izumi (or her english name Isabella) played Replay on the computer and my 4 year old self liked the tune and asked for the name of it. The interaction went something like this (according to both Isa and Natty):

4 y.o Asahi: Oooh! I like this song! What is it called?

14 y.o Isa: It’s a song by SHINee. It’s called Replay. Do you like it? Do you want me to play it again?

4 y.o Asahi: Yes!

9 y.o Natty: Yeah! It sounds good!

14 y.o Isa: Ok then! *replays the song* (you see what I did there lol)

9 y.o Natty: *dances with my other cousin* (which is her little brother Ji — he was 3 at the time)

4 y.o Asahi: *watches the video from the computer whilst dancing on the spot* That guy is cute!

This was from a home video camera where it started out as a birthday celebration since we went out to eat, went home to celebrate with cake and then this very moment that made history as it is. At the time, Izumi just came back from South Korea about few months ago hence the reason why she knew about K-pop very well. She got into SHINee around the time they just debuted, so she knew much about them more than me. She even met them before they debuted and almost made a connection with Onew.

I was lucky to say that I saw Jonghyun when I was 8 years old because little did I knew that this may be the only time I got to meet someone as beautiful as him. The second anniversary is the one that we all know, and if you don’t know about it then… unfortunately this isn’t positive at all.

Today marks 5 years since he began his Inspiration concert tour in heaven. If you guys didn’t get the hint of what I was talking about, he passed away 5 years ago. It’s one of the most hardest days in my life aside from the day my grandmother died and when I got raped by someone I thought was a friend.

Since it has been so hard for the past few years, that was why I would resort to violence where I nearly killed someone over it. I found someone who used to bully me in secondary school teasing me for the fact that Jonghyun died. I knocked her out and until this day she had to wear a wheelchair to walk around. It was so bad that I nearly got arrested but since I was a child, I was let off.

Because I really wanted to get that anger off me, this was why I tried for an alternative, dark/edgy/black humour. This was the thing that really helped me for the past few months alongside with making stories like he was still here. This has been so helpful with me for few years and I feel think that doing what I do is better than what most people would do and pretend that he never existed. I got to write about him being sexy and adorable — exactly how I saw him until this day. He even saw himself as that, so why should I even listen to the mob and do what they want to do. They clearly don’t know how it feels to be in a situation like this, or even being in my life. I’ve been harassed out of my fandom a few times online, but still tried to stay strong. However, I don’t think I could do this longer which brings me to this saying, this is going to be my last fanniversary with SHINee.

I’m not trying to say that I’m gone for good, I’ll still be around especially if you want to vent ( which my url is @mylittlejjongie ) and also to check up on them. I will still be making fanfictions of Jonghyun until the very last one. No matter what, I’ll still love SHINee and all the things they had done for me over the years and this isn’t exactly a farewell. It will be a slow process, but I will be stepping down from the Shawol throne for the last time.

Thank you to everyone who I had met on the way, especially to my cousin Izumi for getting me into SHINee in the first place. Who would of known that a little 14 year old girl would create history from a 4 year old. Of course, I can’t not say thank you to Jonghyun for everything he had done and congratulations for everything he accomplished in his life. No matter what, I’ll always remember him as the guy from the beginning of Replay and that he the was guy that was my first ever childhood crush.

One day I’ll see him again and we’ll be together forever. Not a soul in the light would ever tear us apart as I would be living my 4 year old self’s dream of marrying him with the flowers surrounding us. It would be us and only us.

Memories of You 

synopsis: Zhouxia goes through her mind of memories as she prepares to leave behind the ones she’s lost (June prompt 16 ‘I don’t think it was possible to love someone this much’)

note: okay so this does indirectly mention Jonghyun and Sulli, not by name but as reference for pure character development - so please be cautious reading if you are very sensitive to this! also i will be trying to pump out the rest of the june prompts before the end of the month so we may start getting double posts.. so enjoy!

Life right now felt so right, it was like everything in her world was finally making sense. She was with her family, she had found a home where her mind, body and heart was so safe that she thought nothing could break her down. In a way it scared her, she faced so many doubt and fears but walking into the room seeing all their faces it made her feel like every bad day was worth something.

Zhouxia loved sitting and watching time pass, it used to worry her about how much time would pass her by and the fear of never being good enough would always loom over her head. Even in such trying times she never felt like anything would work out but once again, it somehow fell into place. It was weird, despite them all having worked together, having their labelmates around seemed to liven things up even more. Through the announcement of Mark and Dream reuniting, having her first family back around her and even the staff cooing and cheering them all on, it was a moment that she wished she could freeze forever. Zhouxia wanted to savour these moments, saving them as they are right now, the sounds of laughter filling the air and the smiles that illuminated all of their faces. 

Slowly she stepped away and out of the picture, feigning innocence to their calls to join in - acting like she was consumed by someone else. If at any point she did leave, she didn’t want to be part of such memories, it scared her. Like when she would look at images of her when she was younger sitting with her seniors, her eyes always strayed towards their faces. It felt like at times she never remembered their laughs, or the sound of their voices. Before they move to a new building she wanted to run and hide, saying goodbye felt so hard to her. 

As she walked the halls, she took note of the memories that she had created between the walls. She remembers the first time she met Suho and his kindness as he showed her the direction she needed to head. Or even the first time she was awestruck by some members of SuJu and SHINee, even know she has to think back and laugh. Even as she remembered all these times, as the walls became emptier and the rooms lost that strong presence that they always had, Zhouxia was still uneasy about this new chapter. 

She wished with every fibre of her being that if she picked up the phone right now he would answer, she wanted to call him and just voice her fears knowing that he would have the right answers. She wasn't aware how long she had been slipping into this mindset but it was something that was growing stronger and just like how she wished she could freeze NCT right now, she wished that he had been able to freeze and be by her side. 

Finding her way to the hallway right behind the practice rooms, her eyes caught the once hidden scribble on the wall.  Always climb to where the stars reach the moon, I’ll be waiting for you

The world felt quiet when she was up sitting on the fire escape, even the sound of the cars below didn’t seem all that loud. Her mind was left racing as she visited all the memories she had stored, unknowingly shedding tears. She hadn’t even noticed the presence of one of the boys until he sat next to her wrapping his arm around her leg as he sat lower on the escape snapping her out of her daydream. 

Looking down at Johnny, she watched as he looked over the rail as the lights changed across the city. She felt her heart calming with his presence consuming her. They weren’t exchanging any words but she had never been so thankful to not be alone, she reached her hand forward and clasped his, 

“I didn’t think it would be this hard, it’s just a building right?” Johnny turned his head, humming as he took in her appearance. He wasn’t stupid at knowing how much everything was hitting her. It had taken so long for them to all settle back together and even just seeing how she carried herself around, she wasn’t handling the change as well as what she was appearing to them. 

“It’s been home, Xia it’s okay that you’re not doing okay.. But you need to talk to us, what’s wrong?” “ I don’t think it was possible to love someone this much, it’s been years but just for a moment I want to be that little girl that would go running into his arms when he walked down this hallway. I want to sit out here and eat food I know I'm not allowed to be eating and have him tell me stories of being away. I don’t want to leave and forget him…” “Zhouxia you won-” “I know that. But it feels like I will.”

Shifting her eyes, she searched for the moon, knowing that if she saw it, it would feel like he was there where Johnny sat.

“When I saw everyone in the room, hearing them all. It just made me feel like at any second I could lose it, I don’t want to lose any of them again. It hurt so much having to be without you all and I’m scared that one day I’m going to wake up and I’m not going to be able to hear you” 

Johnny sat in silence taking in her words, even before their dynamic changed the two never held many deep talks, she never disclosed these kinds of feelings before and he wondered just how long they had been bubbling inside her. 

“Past is past, and just because we’re moving doesn’t mean you have to forget all those memories you have with him Xia, with anyone who isn’t around anymore. You just have to take them with you” “Even though I feel like I forget his laugh sometimes?” “Especially then, it’s those moments that you come to us, hell even go to one of his members. Remember him how you need to, and I promise you, you won’t forget him. Not even a little bit” 

Nodding, the two went back to watching the world, standing up, Zhouxia shook out her legs trying to return the feeling back into them. Holding out her hand to Johnny, she kissed his cheek as he stood, 

“Promise I won’t lose you again?” “Kiddo, none of us are ever letting you go, I promise”

Fanfic Origin Story

What was your first fandom (reading and/or writing)?

I was once and forever a shawol (fan of Kpop group Shinee for those who don't know), and started of reading and writing for Shinee back when I was 16 on asian fanfics and falling down a rabbit hole of fandom. My ships were 2min (my OTP!! Minho and Taemin), Jongyu (Jonghyun and Onew), and Onkey (Onew and Key).

What was first story you ever wrote.

It was for the Joonew fic (Joon from MBLAQ and Onew from Shinee) which surprisingly wasn't even my OTP. This is probably all really weird for people who don't know the 2nd generation Kpop bands.

What's a piece of advice you would give your younger fic writing self?

Write what you want, just have fun. It's not about how many comments or kudoses or even who reads your work. It's about you and how happy it makes you.

What’s an early fandom interaction that stuck with you (be it a nice comment , a friend you made, a fic that got a lot of feedback)

I think my favourite early fandom experience was that my twin and I used to make posters and book trailers and although it was a lot of work and we could only ever take 10 requests per release. I loved doing it. Unfortunately we both got way too busy to do it anymore.

From a million flowers may bloom. A westallen story set in 1940s. Its from 2015 so I still consider it old.

The thing that struck Iris about working in a newspaper was no one wanted her to do anything important. The most they let her do was organise the articles or run reports from one journalist to another. But she was itching to write. Her editor brushed it off, giving her more menial tasks. That’s how she was stuck trying to organize a photographer for the new crime journalist.

Barry Allen, the new journalist had just transferred in after working 3 years as some sort of hotshot consultant with the cops. Iris was a little peeved that a man that had little journalistic experience was already writing pieces before her. But what could she do, her college degree seemed to mean nothing in the long run.

Instead of answering, Alex just sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he collected his racing thoughts. The silence only served to heighten Michael’s anxiety. He had jumped the gun and now Alex was going to feel awkward around him - or worse - hate him. 

Alex doesn’t have to regret this, he reminded himself – he could undo it.

Realisation quickly followed by panic washed over Alex’s face. “Don’t go back!” Alex’s hand returned to Michael’s chest to stop him as if he could hear his thoughts. He looked afraid.
