You didn't want to bother him with appointments and other things. He had a whole realm to take care of after all. But you also knew you couldn't keep the secret forever (especially because what if your baby needed special demon care?) You finally call him one day weeks after birth.

"What exactly... are you saying...? I'm a father...? And you kept this from me!? I'm on the way!"

Understandably upset with your decision to keep it a secret from him but ecstatic you gave him a child

A family...his own little family...oh his heart ♡

Still felt guilty, did you not know how much you mean to him!? How broken he was and how much he loved you!? He would've taken care of your every need and been there the second you told him!

He arrived only minutes after the call and alone (He dipped so quick without telling Barb, oops!)

His son was so tiny in his arms! The baby shifted into demon form!

Teared up because he resembled him so much, same horns and wings!

You felt horrible for keeping the secret but you knew he had a duty of serving Diavolo; which helped run the Devildom. Barbatos would have helped you, you knew in your heart he would. You just didn't want to worry him while on the journey is all. Finally when everything was settled, you give him the call.

"Understood. I will visit shortly."

You didn't see the way his eyes widened at the news but he believed you and was well on his way to you after the call

He felt quite guilty and upset that you did something so grand, all alone

Nevertheless he still loved you and was excited yet nervous to meet his baby

The first thing he did when he saw you was kiss your forehead before holding his son

The baby shifted and he gasped at the miniature him, he was absolutely in love and even shifted into demon form himself

"The two of you mean the entire world to me. I feel our future is very bright. I vow to always love and protect you both."

He had called Dia and Luci to explain his absence

Stayed a few days to bond with you two (he grabbed a Go-Bag before leaving, butlers must always be prepared!)

Later moved you two into the castle to a very excited uncle Dia

He noticed his son was particular about his milk

You really struggled with the decision of letting him know. You were scared of the consequences he would face. You decided to keep it a secret as much as possible but one day he requested a video call when regular calls weren't enough anymore. You looked very much the same and everything was going great and that's when his daughter started crying in the background. Simeons' heard the cries before in past calls and to his knowledge you babysat frequently.  He understood you had to go check. You didn't realize he could see the baby when you picked her up, you thought your back kept her hidden from view. He immediately knew. There was no doubt that was his baby girl. He questioned you about her and you tried to deny it but ended up confessing. You couldn't lie to him anymore.

"I'll see you two soon."

He was highly upset but thought about it more and knew why you did it

He didn't mean to put you in that position and ended up being more upset in himself

He loved you so much and hoped he could make it up to you

He hoped you could forgive him for not coming sooner but he had something to do first before seeing you two

He found Luke and chatted with him normally; he told him what a great angel he was and offered a bit of wisdom

He hugged the young angel for the last time

"Luke...I'm sorry and I hope you forgive me."

He knew that left Luke confused after such a normal conversation but Simeon couldn't bear to explain everything

After telling Michael what happened and being banished from the celestial realm, he finally made his way to you

Yes he was hurting from the loss but there was no doubt in his mind and he had no regrets overall

When he arrived and held his daughter, she glowed and he teared up

"You're an angel alright, a beautiful one."

You cried for him and he reassured you that everything will be fine, he was excited for his new family and he had no regrets

"I would do it all over again, and again, and again.♡"

He noticed his daughter loves falling asleep to his stories

You didn't keep it a secret from him actually. There wasn't really a reason to nor would you be able to hide it from him in the human realm.

Was shocked for a few days, he never thought he'd see the day that would happen

He was happy for the two of you of course but it all seemed surreal

Was supportive throughout the pregnancy and tried to find ways to make it easier for you

He tried cooking more and you begged him not to

He nearly fainted at the news of twin girls

On the due date;  all the books he read didn't seem like enough preparation

He teared up when you crushed his hand during labor

Oh he was in love when he heard the cries and even more when he saw they looked just like him

Mario just softly rubbing Luigi's back and saying "don't cry, it's okay now bro" while Luigi insists he isn't crying (even as he's very obviously blubbering). Them fixing each other's hats and noticing little injuries about each other and just starting to laugh eventually about how absurd this all is, this crazy world they've ended up in, but all that matters is they're together now and whatever comes next, they can face it as the duo they've always been.

(would also be very cute if Peach is in the vicinity for this and she's so happy to see them reunited that once they have their moment and end the hug, she rushes forward and throws her arms around both of them too - and then Toad comes in too and it's suddenly a group hug and Luigi is a little bewildered lol. They don't know him yet but they've heard enough about him from Mario during their journey that they feel like they do! He just needs to be introduced properly <3)

I'm a little late with my review, but I made it 😌 In Part 3, we see a glimpse of Wells being weird with that comment of 'What happened to all those little girl dresses?' 🤢 Also, the fact that Gloria and Y/n live with Wells? I thought Gloria and Y/n lived together, but Y/n being forced to live with Wells kind of explains more why she's uncomfortable. She lives with him; therefore, she is being forced to be around him. I'm just surprised too that Gloria moved in with this guy even though I think they've only been dating a few months? 😬 If that's the case, Gloria and him move fast and I feel like maybeee this is hinting the relationship was rushed.

It's stated that Gloria and Y/n used to live in Texas...so how did Gloria even meet this guy? Maybe online? But why would she be so willing to just pack up and force her daughter to leave everything behind? It's safe to assume they both grew up in Texas, so to date a guy for a few months and move in with him is a huge leap.... Maybe love makes you do crazy things? 🤡 It's stated in ch 1 that Y/n has only known Wells for a few months, so maybe the reason Gloria was so comfortable moving was cause her and Wells had been dating a while, but maybe Y/n never met him until a few months ago? Thats definitely a possibility.

Idk something just doesn't feel right with that relationship 🤣 I love how medically accurate chapter 3 was. I literally had to do concussion research and reread ch 3 just to catch all the symptoms since I missed them all lol the tiredness, the headache, the way Y/n was falling asleep in Billy's car, the way Y/n got moody with Stu and Billy in the car...all of those showed that something was wrong. Billy and Stu picking Y/n up was cute and all, but we all know they secretly want Y/n fully dependent on them. Cute how they both quickly knew something was wrong in the car tho 🥺

The Stu vs Y/n staredown was unexpected. Y/n shouldn't have snapped, but Stu shouldn't have been condescending. The fact that he had the audacity to be like "You couldn't even last a couple hours in the hospital" just shows his lack of empathy for what Y/n went through and he's trying to show her that she 'needs' him.... don't make me laugh bro, she doesn't need NO MAN 😭🙄 'DOn'T COME CrYinG tO ME' Nah bro, I'll go cry to my mom instead 🙃

Also I feel like both Billy and Stu are so good a perceiving people, especially the one person they consider worthy of their genuine care, that they just instantly knew something was up. They can read Y/n better than she can read herself at this point.

also yeah both Stu and Y/n were being problematic that morning! Y/n's attitude was a combination of a lot of things. She was stressed and concussions can lead to mood swings so that was the main reason, but let's just say that Billy and Stu knew what they were doing when they were being a little touchy with their girlfriends. And, even though she doesn't fully realize it, it kind of worked. She was a tiny bit jealous and she's never really felt jealous over a guy before (especially the boyfriends of her best friends) and that, paired with some subconscious guilt and her concussion led to a bit of a tantrum. She wasn't the center of Stu and Billy's attention for one minute and she immediately chose violence😭 she's so real for that lowkey.

And on Stu's side, at first the fact that she was uncomfortable was kind of good for his ego. Don't Wanna Cry

It was a rough morning in the Seventeen dorms. The group’s manager had accidentally told the group the wrong time for the start to their schedules for the day, so all thirteen members were running late. Literally all of the members were still asleep when the manager entered the dorm and  began banging on all of the bedroom doors to wake them up.

All of the members had gone to bed at the same time, but last night Minghao had had a bout of insomnia and had probably fallen asleep around an hour before the manager knocked on his door. He just wanted to go back to sleep for a little bit longer, but he knew that that wasn’t an option.

Minghao got dressed as quickly as possible before heading to the kitchen to grab a protein drink and making his way to the van. He opened up his drink and took a sip. He briefly made a disgusted face as he had grabbed a flavor that he didn’t particularly like, but hadn’t noticed until he took the sip. He glanced at the drink the members sitting near him had, and they all had the same flavor. They had either run out of his preferred flavor, or by coincidence, they had all grabbed the same flavor. Minghao sighed in resignation at the fact that his day was not starting off great and he would have to go through a packed schedule on less than an hour of sleep.

In the short trip to the company, Minghao had apparently fallen asleep. He found himself being woken up by Vernon. “Hyung, wake up. We need to get to practice.” Minghao groaned as he stirred awake then grumbled as he climbed out of the car. He stumbled a little bit, clearly still half asleep and Vernon had to help steady him, as the younger was genuinely concerned the older was about to fall over.

“You good there hyung?” He asked in concern. Mingao brushed Vernon’s hands away as he grumbled about being fine. In reality he wasn’t fine. He really just wanted to go back to sleep and he might have tweaked his ankle a little when he tripped. Truth be told, even though he wasn’t really in any pain, it was taking everything in him to start crying right then and there.

Minghao’s first schedule was vocal lessons and it was not going well. No matter how long he warmed up, or what vocal exercises he did, his voice wouldn’t stop cracking. The vocal coach was thankfully understanding that he had literally just woken up and that was probably why he wasn’t able to hit notes he normally could. But either way the instructor handed him a throat lozenge half way through the lesson saying that it was better to be safe than sorry. Due to the frustration of the disaster that was his vocal lesson, Minghao once again found himself on the verge of tears. He once again held them back, more so because he didn’t feel like crying in front of his instructor than anything else.

Minghao now had around two hours before he had to meet with the rest of the group for dance practice, so he decided to get some proper food into his system. He went down to the cafeteria and bought some kimbap and sat down at an empty table, only to be joined a few minutes later by Junhui.

“Are you doing okay Hao? Vernon told me how you tripped a little when getting out of the van this morning.” Jun had asked the question in Chinese, clearly with the intention of keeping the conversation private in case something serious was going on that the younger didn’t yet feel like fully sharing.

“I’m just tired, ge. I didn’t sleep well last night. Also my voice kept cracking during voice lessons because of it.” Minghao could fill his eyes beginning to fill with tears, but he didn’t want to be so vulnerable in the cafeteria where pretty much anybody could see him, so he once again did his best to hold them back.

“Just let one of us know if you need a break okay.” Minghao nodded to Jun’s words and continued eating his food. In all honesty, he was feeling a bit better after getting food into his system. Minghao then decided to just go to the practice room for the remainder of his lunch break. He figured he could just chill out there and scroll through his phone for a bit. That way he wouldn’t have to worry about being late.

By the time dance practice started, Minghao was definitely feeling better. He was still tired from not getting any sleep the night before, but he wasn’t feeling as emotional. He put his phone in his bag and joined the others for warm-ups.

The first song the group danced to after finishing warm-ups was Hot. Minghao was slightly off in some of the timing, but it wasn’t fully noticeable to anyone but him. The group did two run-throughs of Hot before moving on to the next song Don’t Wanna Cry.

Minghao had lost his footing at one point, and completely tripped over his own feet. He thankfully hadn’t crashed into anyone, but he did wind up on the floor. The Chinese member sat there in shock for a brief moment before he lost all composure and broke into tears.

Dance practice immediately halted. Seungkwan quickly turned off the music and Jihoon ran to grab the first aid kit that was sitting in the corner of the room. Seungcheol and Joshua quickly made their way over to Minghao to figure out what had been injured. The others occupied themselves with their phones, so as not to crowd or overwhelm the already distressed member.

“What hurts?” Seungcheol asked as he knelt in front of Minghao. Minghao responded by shaking his head while continuing to sob. Jihoon had the first aid kit and did his best to check the younger man for any injuries, although Minghao wasn’t exactly being helpful. “I just want to go home.” Was all the distressed Chinese member said.

Seungcheol nodded after Jihoon confirmed that he couldn’t see any signs of injury. Dino and Mingyu worked in tandem to lift up Minghao and they brought him to the van that the leader had called.  The drive back to the dorm was filled with silence, aside from the sniffling coming from Minghao. There had apparently been a recent accident on the freeway, because traffic was  bumper to bumper. Some of the members groaned frustratedly at not being able to get home fast enough to find out what was wrong.

The group wasn’t even a quarter of the way home, when Seokmin thought he heard snoring coming from Minghao. He leaned over and looked at him, only to see his features completely relaxed and very clearly asleep.

“Guys, Hao’s asleep. I suggest we all be quiet so we don’t wake him.” The other members were quick to agree and silenced whatever conversations they were having so Minghao could continue sleeping. It had taken thirty minutes longer than usual to get home, meaning that Minghao had been asleep for a solid forty five minutes. As much as the group wanted to let the sleeping member continue to sleep, they also knew that naps longer than an hour typically result in sleepless nights. Seokmin leaned over to shake the younger awake.

“Five more minutes.” Minghao mumbled. Seokmin just chuckled in response. “We’re back at the dorm. It’s time to wake up.” Minghao audibly sighed as he took a solid minute to open his eyes before getting out of the vehicle. Just like when he arrived at the company earlier that day, Minghao found himself tripping over his own feet as he got out of the car. This time he was caught by Jeonghan. The second oldest member heard a sharp intake of breath when he stopped Minghao from falling, causing him to think that the younger was indeed injured. He and Seokmin walked Minghao into the dorm.

The duo deposited the Chinese member on the couch and Jeonghan immediately went to the kitchen to grab an ice pack. Soonyoung and Wonwoo were also in the kitchen making a large batch of hot chocolate for the group. Jeonghan returned to the living room and sat down next to Minghao.

“Okay, what did you injure today?” Minghao just looked at the older with a confused expression plastered on his face. “I’m not injured, hyung. What makes you think I’m injured.” 

“You made a sound when you tripped getting out of the car.” Minghao, who’s mind was still muddled with sleep, still looked fairly confused. This caused Jeonghan to place his hand on the younger’s forehead to check for a fever. But, seeing as Minghao wasn’t sick, there wasn’t any unusual warmth to be felt. Shortly thereafter, Soonyoung and Wonwoo came out of the kitchen each carrying a tray of mugs. Each member took a mug of cocoa. Chan turned on the tv and the group sat in otherwise questionable silence for the next few minutes.

Mingao fully woke up as he was drinking the cocoa, and he finally fully registered the questions that Jeonghan had asked him earlier. “I’m not injured, hyung. I just didn’t get any sleep last night. The noise I made was from the shock of tripping again. Although, I might of tweaked my ankle a little this morning, but it doesn’t hurt anymore.”

“So, when you started crying after falling in dance practice?” Seungcheol asked.

“Being overly tired makes me emotional, and everything was going wrong today. Falling was just too much, and I broke down.” Minghao then started laughing to the point that he started hyperventilating a little (another hint the members were more accustomed to for Minghao being tired). After a solid minute of this that ended in a mini coughing fit, he continued.

“I’m sorry, but I just realized that, after trying not to cry all day, I broke down while we were practicing Don’t Wanna Cry.” This caused the other members to chuckle a little as well.

“I already got you the next couple of days off because I wasn’t sure how injured you were, so you can get plenty of rest.” Seungcheol said. Minghao thanked the leader  before grabbing the remote and switching to Disney+ and turning on Deadpool. Even though the entire group had seen this movie multiple times and found it hilarious, Minghao began crying ten minutes in. The response was Jun handing Minghao a box of tissues and rubbing his back in comfort.

Yes, Alec seems different between trsom and cofa, but like??? In trsom Alec specifically states that he wishes never to meet any of Magnus’s exes, and in cofa, he literally meets one of Magnus’s worst exes, in a terrible situation no less. Trsom is literally a vacation, a getaway. There’s a reason the tone of trsom feels so different from any other tsc book (I mean. Hot air balloon dinners and peaceful late night walks while holding hands? Soft dancing and long drives in a Maserati and two and a half whole pages of the softest lazy cuddling you’ll ever see and don’t even get me started on the ending omg). Like, despite the stakes, there’s still something casual and soft and sweet about trsom. Trsom is the literal definition of *slow motion double vision in rose blush* (Taylor Swift, always right). Trsom is Magnus and Alec having rose tinted glasses on, but during cofa the glasses come off and they have to confront the harsh realities of their relationship.

Besides, there was plenty of foreshadowing in rsom for their issues to come. Alec not wanting to meet Magnus’s exes. Alec comparing his life experiences to Magnus’s like they were books. Alec being insecure about Tessa. Magnus thinking about how he couldn’t tell Alec the whole truth about himself lest he lose Alec or even worse, put him in danger (thanks, Ass-hoe-dues 😑). And… did op even read the same book cause like… despite everything, they were still struggling to communicate about some issues in this book. Alec literally goes “ANYWAYS-“ in the middle of a conversation about Magnus’s immortality and his own mortality. Magnus deflects questions about his past so many times. Magnus makes some progress, of course (the fireside scene), but that gets stomped on by end no thanks to Shinyun and Asshoedues. Yay. 😭

And he’s a shadowhunter, he’s angel blooded, which along with him being able to use warlock magic (and specifically Magnus’s magic) somehow let him draw the thorn out of Magnus. Idk how to articulate it but you know what I mean???

Shirai confirmed when meeting Norman again was the first time Emma cried since the first chapter: “Emma tried her best not to cry all along for the promise she made in chapter 1 ("I won't cry anymore") but ended up crying when she met Norman.” ;;;;;;

T/N: The last sentence wasn't present in the final version of the chapter: “I let you go away, it was me. To a place where you won't return from.”

This omitted sentence left me?? Shocked????????? I always thought it was Norman's choice to let himself be shipped, so I never put much thought into what it could have meant for Emma (beyond the feeling of betrayal). But to think that she kept blaming herself for his death is so heartbreaking... Besides, her never bringing it up again, refusing to look back at what's done and can't be changed but still keeping blaming herself for it is also very Emma pffft. This girl is too good for the world!!!!!!

The “1000 years ago” setting was inspired by the fact that about 1000 years ago people used to believe in demons; the existence of demon-like creatures makes a parallel between TPN's world and the real world. I find it nice, it's like Shirai is giving his own in-world explanation to way 1000 years ago demons disappeared from the human world.

This bit: “The reason why Norman admired Emma caused their ways to diverge at the same time”. It's at the same time sweet and tragic you know- the reasons why Norman admired Emma, like her determination in wanting to save all the children or her confidence for being able to change the world, ended up setting Norman down a path Emma herself would have never chosen 🥺🥺🥺

Shirai notes that Norman had a short lifespan and couldn't build the world Emma desired without killing the demons. Norman wanted to ensure a safe world for Emma and everyone. Shirai thinks Norman might have chosen a slightly different method if he wasn't running out of time.

I feel like we shouldn't overlook this??? I've seen so many people arguing that it was ooc for kind and good-hearted Norman to choose such a bloody way; however, Shirai himself said Norman would have probably gone for another way given more time. Norman prioritized ensuring a safe world for his family while he still could, and I think we should give him credit for at least that?

In the initial concept, Shirai wanted Norman to reappear as a different person and gave him a slightly different design. But Norman in Posuka's arts seemed to follow a natural growth of his younger self, so Shirai discarded the idea. The storyboards had some leftovers of the old design. [...] [Rephrased] traces of the old design are still visible, such as the longest bangs through chapters 119-124.

... Maybe this explains why Norman looks so different post time skip? (“Natural growth??????” lmao Shirai)

“Unlike most demons who wear dark-colored clothes, Geelan wore white”. I never noticed before, but I think it's s a very cool detail! Somehow foreshadows his past of a just and morally noble demon, different from the other black and corrupted regent houses and royalty.

Geelan's old (pre-decaying) design had yet to be set at the time of his first appearance. Shirai says that if Geelan's royal and elegant past appearance had been decided from the very beginning, he would have made Geelan's speaking in chapter 125 “a little cooler” pfffttt-

Shirai says it was particularly hard to write Emma and Norman's confrontation because Norman was correct. However, reading back Shirai says that “Emma didn't lose the argument at all and had her own way of being correct” which warms my heart :')

THIS WHOLE PARAGRAPH THAT LEGIT MADE ME CRY WHEN I FIRST READ IT:

Norman was capable of doing various things, so his weakness was his tendency to fight alone. In the old stories, boys carried certain responsibilities on their backs. Saying something soft was considered as a weakness. From all TPN characters, Shirai thinks Norman's mindset was the closest to such beliefs - “mustn't be uncool in front of a girl”, “never whine or complain”, and “must be strong”. To save Norman was to save him from these self-imposed principles. Even before starting TPN serialization, Shirai decided to make him say “help me” as a part of his growth.

It's so true that TPN is a Shonen manga like no others.

Shirai says he requested the 'god or devil' panel because everything becomes cool when drawn by Posuka.

Additional details on the five regents houses leads personalities!!!:

Dozza was an arrogant upstart. Yverk was an aristocrat who had been around for a long time. Bayon Jr. was Bayon's serious natured son. Pupo had the image of a harmless old man; Shirai and Sugita wanted to make him flashy and dumb like the World Nobles from One Piece. Noum had the image of a young, serious and excellent Patriarch (like a character from Game of Thrones).

And on the queen:

Leglavalima was Leuvis's sister. She's the strong, fearsome and charismatic queen who held dignity and beauty. Her design was a mixture of royalties from Europe and China.

Legravalima my beloved ☺️☺️💕💕✨✨❤️❤️

The first concept was having a king rather than a queen, but apparently “ "Leuvis's older sister" gives off a scarier image than "Leuvis's older brother" ” (??). Legravalima was set to be female also to tie, as one of the final enemies of the story, with Isabella, who was the first.

Chapter 134 had only 11 pages. Shirai had a cold for 4 months that worsened even after taking care of his health, so he had to take a week's break. Mangaka who draw their manga themselves can take a week's suspension if they fail to complete their manuscript due to sickness. Author-onlies have to submit a leave application. Shirai admits that he cried in frustration, as it was hard for him to make his own decision and ask "please let me rest."

Bruh I had no idea they overworked authors so badly, this is?????? Horrible???????? I'm upset authors have to go through this and severaly angry at SJ too- no author deserves such treatment.

Apparently writing Ayshe's side centric chapters was “healing” for Shirai :')

Ayshe's first design was drafted right after the first arc. At first, she was supposed to have the appearance of an older woman; the design was then changed to the one of a wild girl with furry arms. Although she had a scar on her face in all versions, how she got the scar was unknown.

The amount of times during the serialization Sugita intervened asking to "make it pretty" is quite funny pfftt. (He did it for Geelan's old design, Ayshe's wild design, Leslie's design... )

Ayshe was thought to mirror both Norman and Ray: Norman, as someone who was similarly raised by demons, yet didn't hate them; Ray, as someone who had a “monster” as a parent.

Shirai considered Ayshe to be a partner for Ray, but then thought that was unfair because apparently Ayshe is too pretty for Ray PFFFFTT

There isn't any specific story behind Ayshe's dad's scar; the deformed face is an accidental abnormality. Ayshe's dad was a former aristocrat, and that's why he knew the demon language ("former aristocrat who fell in disgrace" feels like a recurring trope for Shirai lmao). Once his face structure collapsed, he couldn't stay at home anymore and started living an hidden life.

The firstborn child of the Bayon family is a girl. As reported in the exhibition booklet interview, Demizu told that the most shocking request she faced was learning that the Bayon children were going to die too soon. It seems like Demizu drew a girl while imagining various things, like her becoming friends with Emma. But then the girl died in a second. “How cruel was that? If I heard it beforehand, maybe I would've made her appear more” (Shirai). This was so cute and wholesome, Demizu is such an angel I swear (╥﹏╥)

About the fancy suit Vincent wore in chapter 137, Shirai says that Vincent is “fashionable and picky with his clothes”

The Seven Walls' cube was supposed to be a 4-D hypercube, how cool is that!!!! Seeing it in motion makes me appreciate Demizu's depiction even more.

Demon god's appearance transforming when Emma reached the Seven Walls was a remnant of Shirai's unused setting according to which Scribbles' appearance changes based on the time of day (looking like a child in the morning, a young person in the daytime and an old person in the evening).

Shirai doesn't think Julius was a bad person, but rather a pure and serious man who hadn't been able to rest in a long time.

(Pretty obviously), the ancestors were designed with a rebirth-like theme.

Lewis looking so old and Sonju looking so much younger is because Lewis received many wounds and regenerated too much: the more of a warrior-like a demon was, the faster they would age. An early concept had a note that Lewis was a “combat enthusiast”, and didn't eat as much as Legravalima. Shirai says that “contrasting to Lewis, Legravalima was like “a beautiful witch who would do anything to keep her beautiful appearance” 🥰🥰🥰

Sonju's chapter 144 quote “I'll turn you into meatballs" was a line Shirai had wanted him to say even from before the series began.

About the matter of Yverk and Julius reaching the Day and Night so smoothly, Shirai reports that a secret passage exists, but only the queen and Yverk know about it. Shirai answering my 2019 old questions :')

Norman made Zazie's paperbag. Since Zazie grew up in a dark room, he hates lights / electricity.

Like Norman, Vincent was brought to Lambda because his test scores were exceptionally good. Once at Lambda, he was forced to undergo brain surgery to determine if he could be pushed further to Norman's level (that’s the reason behind the scars on his head). Though his scores improved after the surgery, he never managed to reach Norman.
