WEEK08 HW #7 - Nami Matcha (Extended)
Before:
After:
â View prototype!
Think about the homework you did last week. Either make a new version building on what you learned last time, or pick a new app/website/program. Use Figma in the same way â Give yourself a directive: I am going to make this app/site/*** funny/silly/angry/usable/terrifying/legible/incomprehensible/âŠâŠâŠ.. Then, think about what qualities you can use to create a version that embodies that adjective. Your changes might be subtle or loud â try out a few things before you settle on your final direction. If you donât know what to do, talk to me.
About Us:
Directive: I am going to make this page less empty and more personal.
My changes:
Introduced more colors to brighten up the page!
Incorporated more photos that are not already in use on the site.
Added the reoccurring arch in home and product display page for a more welcoming feel.
Product display & info (Yame):
Directive: I am going to make this page emphasize the flavor and customer experience of Nami's Yame Matcha.
My changes:
Push matcha description up, making it the first thing a user reads instead of the payment option.
Add more fun and inviting shapes from the home page to display Yame matcha images.
Slight edits to the matcha description to make the text visually less condensed (asterisk, line skip)
Rotating thank you message was too light. Changed it to Nami green and butter yellow!
Customer reviews are visually more condensed because original design require customer eyes to drag across the screen. I hate it lol

NSA Crypto Challenge
After weeks of solving the NSA Crypto Challenges, Iâve figured a method to crack the messages more quickly. First start with any three or two letter words, and fill the missing letters with a vowel. Try to create well known words such a âthe, who, and, an ,am, to, forâ and then try to find any four letter words that might be âthat/then/themâ. Next try filling in other missing higher frequency letters with the higher letter frequencies of the english alphabet, ie. âe, t, a, o, i, n, s, h, r, d, l, u â. We should be beginning to form more readable words, or words we can form and figure out the rest of the message. Below is an example of a crypto challenge I cracked under 5 minutes:

Week 8: Google/FB Yourself
Google yourself: After downloading my data from Google, it was quite surprising that I had 68GB of data with them. Honestly quite scary. It was split into 18 files with 4GB worth of data each. Looking through the files these are some interesting points:
It had stored my âhomeâ and âworkâ address even though they are slightly inaccurate
Google timeline has data of places that I have been since 2016âŠwith associated photos that I had taken at the locationâŠconcerning. Maybe some sort of automatic geotagging because of using a Google pixel phone.
Facebook Data: Looking through my Facebook data, it doesnât seem too surprising as these are the types of information that I have put out there myself. For example, posts that I have liked, commented on or reacted to, pages that have been liked, ads I have clicked on etc. But something crazy is in the section âAdvertisers Who Uploaded a Contact List With Your Informationâ, many of these companies I have never heard of and assume I have not interacted with before.

Day 55 / Week 08
Another sketch with more values. This time I am not happy with the result. The source photo doesnât have that sharp values as I chose before. Anyway I do not know yet how to do it cooler and look the âwowâ way with more values. I am sure it should not be problem with more time spent on it, but that is not the way I want to draw images.

Week 08: plsdonthaq.me Shuffle
This was a fun one, Iâm not that familar with python so there was a lot of googling and looking at stackoverflow forum posts. But eventually I wrote some python which went through the shuffle.txt, scanned each line, extracted the number using regular expressions (findall) and placed it in a dictionary (with the corresponding line). Then all it took was to sort the dictionary, and as I printed out each line into a text file, I first took out the â::number::â from each line using another regular expression (replace).
Yay I appeared!
Iâll leave the flag out due to spoilers

Week 08 - Eighth Update of 20-Time!
NOTE: Iâm changing the format of these updates a bit, to describe what exactly I worked on in class, more than the basics of things.Â
Actual Status Updates:
What did you do in class today? In class today I finished coloring the Totoro piece on the overall masterpiece. Using crayons, I finished shading in the characters and coloring the scene, although I will make adjustments in my own time to add highlights with white pen to help enhance the scene. Before entering class, I had already colored in Totoro during my freetime to practice coloring with colored pencils, but it did help with the time as I was able to completely finish the piece according to plan. The only obstacle I generally faced today was how the crayons âworkedâ on coloring the piece, I felt as if a different medium would have suited it better, but it has been already colored so thereâs no turning back.Â
Next week? Next week Iâm planning on sketching the Mulan piece and leaving the Undertale piece last since I consider it the hardest piece out of all of them as there are multiple characters to fit in the space, similar to the SU piece. The Mulan piece will probably end up being the easiest since itâs simply one character which Iâm coloring using regular markers I believe, so I hope to continue my progress successfully.Â
On track? Still on track! I tweaked my schedule for doing things a little by doing a couple of coloring and sketching beforehand so that I have enough time to do everything, but otherwise Iâm still on my way to complete this project.Â
Thank you so much for following the development of my masterpiece and I hope youâll continue to view my updates :)

Week 08 Wrap-Up
With normal classes being disrupted this past week by Film Fest showings, our team spent most of our time making final edits to our teaser poster, preparing minor animatic updates, and making progress on set blocking.
Because of the reduced class time we met up for a work day over the weekend and discussed both the work each of us had done for the week and our plans for wrapping up the quarter and working over winter break. We ended up shifting our priorities to accommodate everyoneâs finals schedules, leaving us with an updated set of goals:
Whatâs most important right now is that our 3D artists have the time they need to focus on set modeling and layout, so Iâve restructured our expectations to reduce their workload while still giving our teamâs animators material to work with over break if they need to.
Iâve also finished a rough schedule for each component in the film through to the end of the school year in May. My main concern is in conducting an audit of the animatic over the break that will allow us to cut down the scale of the film to whatâs both necessary to the story and whatâs reasonable for our team to achieve based on our progress this first quarter.
I also hope to open up opportunities over break for everyone on the crew to pursue a part of production theyâre interested in without much group direction or feedback. Since communication will be difficult and everyone will have vastly differing schedules, I want to use the six weeks weâll have apart to give everyone more freedom to have fun with preparing elements for the film. Iâm more excited to see what everyone comes up with out of pure experimentation than what we make for the sake of getting it done for the pipeline.
I also made progress in learning the model this past week, and Iâll be working on poses for our model sheet next.

Week 8: Spot the Fake
An example that I have been hearing on the news are fake medical practitioners. There are individuals who practise in the medical field for many years but do not have the qualification or really any knowledge in the area.Â
A case in 2018 was that a woman practised psychiatry for almost 22 years without any qualifications and actually had dropped out of med school in first year. This issue wasnât raised until she had committed a crime of altering the will of a client to gain personal financial benefits.
Analysis of how it could have been done:Â
In the situation above, during registration it was claimed that she was a graduate from the University of Auckland
Faked documents?Â
Knowing someone on the medical board
How it could have been prevented?
Thorough background check
Further testing if qualifications were obtained in different countries
Interview process

Downloaded a 1gb zip file, uncompressed to 2.23gbs. Thatâs what google is allowing me to see about my own data
Well first off

Reddit and youtube has 19999+ matches in this
Facebook has 12163 matches
My Youtube watch-history.html is 16kb big wow
Location History.json has 4.75million lines (its a 100mb json file), they know everything...
âConfidenceâ
âIN_ROAD_VEHICLEâ, âIN_RAIL_VEHICLEâ, âON_BICYCLEâ, âON_FOOTâ
