Week 1-2 Insights
List of the insights that I gained from the interview:
1. N Jess General Merchandise
Knowing the story of how the N Jess General Merchandise came from, gave me some insights:
First is how a small thing can change to something bigger and be successful. Just like how they were just simply selling nails before, now they have a bigger and broader range of different hardware materials. They are one of the proofs that even small beginnings can have the potential to lead to greater success if you put effort and strategy into them.
Second is how they decided to let go as a wholesaler and focused more on the nails and then slowly expanding the range of the materials that they were selling, since it is more in demand. This just shows that there are really things that you need to let go of in order to grow and just learn to adapt based on what the market needs more. Learning and being able to adapt to new things and what people need can get the business into a long-term success.
And lastly, the risk that their family took when they decided to build this business so that her father would not return as an OFW is scary and, at the same time, amazes me because they have that motivation and also trust with their business. Doing business is really a risk, as we do not know if this will be successful or failure.
2. Happy Sip
The journey of the Hasan's sister on their business Happy Sip is inspiring and reflections, and these are my insights;
First is their decision on changing or having a new venture or business, since their first business, which is the ukay-ukayan, is not doing well, shows the important of being able to adapt and do a different business. It also shows that not all business will be successful, and learn how to explore other opportunities.
Second, their acknowledgement about the milk tea, that it is not a need for people but only a want. I agree with how they were able to recognize and understand what their product is to the market. This just shows that it is very important to know what the consumer or people buy and to be realistic about the nature of the product that you will be offering to them. Knowing these things will make you understand more about your consumers and also manage the expectations since there are times where there will be a slow season for it.
Lastly, them knowing that the milk tea is not a necessity and the sales may not be that big, but they are still selling it and continuing their business, shows their fighting spirit and perseverance. Also, having difficulties with the supplies and waiting for a month before having them takes patience and also being strategic with it, like for them, they ask in advance for it before their supply runs out. Despite these challenges that they faced with their business, they are still going and pushing forward.
3. AJ Water Refilling Station
Even though AJ Water Refilling Station is still new and starting, it gave me some insights that can help me understand more about business and also in life.
First is how Mrs. Jamito established the business so that her children will have something left to rely on in the future, which shows the importance of planning for the future for your family. Planning to start a business is not just thinking about its success, but it is also for the future security of providing for the family. It made me realize that some people plan and build a business for their family's future, but there are also others who build business as it is their dream.
Second, with how she acknowledges and thinks carefully that since her business is still new and she is just starting, she only has a few staff members. This shows me that it does not need to be grand or make a huge move to get to success right away. You have to carefully plan and take considerations of what situation you are in, and then slowly build and have a solid foundation.
Lastly, how saving money is one of the first things that you do if you plan to start a business. It is really very important to save money because you really need to be financially prepared, especially with the case of Mrs. Jamito's business, where the materials and equipment require sufficient capital. Before starting a business, you need to consider if you are financially responsible for being able to start it.
4. Jasmine Garden
Hearing, knowing, and also learning of how Jasmine Garden was able to keep going for more than 30 years gave me insights and also somehow knowledge of things that can help the business last for a long time.
First is how Mrs. Dap-og was able to grow and expand her business from selling a small amount and kinds of flowers or plants to now a thriving and also have landscaping business, which shows her passion and patience in growing a business. This is also a reminder that passion and patience are some of the keys to growing a business. Moreover, know ways that can help the business stay going and stay for a long time, and in the case of Mrs. Dap-og, she propagates her plants and then slowly grows and expands them.
Second, how it is also a good decision and move that they are extending their business to landscaping as it is also in line with their garden business. Doing this decision in your business can help it expand and also grow since it not only offers selling different kinds of flowers or plants, but also do landscaping which connects to having broader range of customers who may want or need to buy plants and plan to do landscaping.
Lastly, how she was able to show her passion and love in flowers and plants as she was joining a lot of competitions and displays in festivals. For me, it is also important to show the love and passion that you have, especially in the business that you have, since, for my belief, it somehow resonates with the overall aura of the business and also reflects how you are as an owner and person.
5. Aquarist Fish Shop
The story of how Aquarist Fish Shop first started gave me realizations and insights that can also help me understand the different reasons why business owners start a business.
How they turned personal interest into having or starting a business. This is also one of the reasons why people start businesses and how it can also be a significant role that you align your personal interests into your business. It does not only become your source of income, but it also gives fulfillment and happiness to you as a business owner.
The importance of having and building relationships with the suppliers. She gave us a glimpse of how their relationship is with their supplier, and it shows how they trusted each other and even helped one another in terms of their respective businesses. It is very important that you not only have a reliable and trusted supplier but also help you find connections and communicate with other trusted people that they know that can help your business grow.
- Hearing and knowing the story of their businesses strengthens my beliefs about humble beginnings, effort, strategy, risks, decisions, and even learning how to let go of things serves as a purpose in order to embrace growth and have new opportunities.

Running a business is like going on a rollercoaster—full of ups and downs, but always packed with lessons. From my experiences watching different businesses we interviewed, I’ve seen how important it is to be resilient, think outside the box, and have the support of the community. Standing out in a crowded market is tough, and it takes a solid plan that speaks directly to your customers.

Shek Coffee nailed it by combining two different business ideas into one, pulling in more customers, coming up new menu items and boosting profits. It shows how creativity can set you apart from the competition.
I realized that being a business owner isn’t just about the hustle—it’s about the sacrifices. Whether it’s time, money, or energy, entrepreneurs give their all, even when tough decisions come into play. It’s inspiring to see how their commitment pushes them forward, not just for their own vision, but for their employees and customers, too.

Take Avocalicious, for instance. They focus on the health of their customers, particularly moms and the elderly. By doing so, they’ve built a loyal following and created a brand that really cares for the community.

Another example is Healthy Basket, which teamed up with local bakers by supplying strawberries, proving that small businesses can thrive through collaboration and mutual support.

Horikohi’s coffee shop stands out, too. Even in a market packed with coffee options, they found their niche and ran with it, thanks to careful research and a family-first approach that makes their customers feel right at home.

Lastly, TwinDrops’ backstory highlights the importance of problem-solving. Despite early struggles with water supply and staff issues, they powered through, showing resilience and adaptability, which are key to long-term success.
At the end of the day, every business faces challenges, but with creativity, teamwork, and a focus on customer needs, success is within reach. They are an amazing entrepreneurs who push through the hard times come out stronger and more capable of thriving in their industries which aspires us to become one.

A Darkened Fate
Alt. Week 1 Prompt: "It's not what you think."
Summary: In another universe, Omega and Crosshair manage to escape Tantiss and reunite with the Batch, but everything isn't completely perfect. Their fates have just been set to quickly fall into the wrong hands.
This is for @summer-of-bad-batch's alternative prompt for this week! I hope this isn't too late as I was struggling to finish this and I'm not sure if I did this right, but it's the idea that came into my head inspired by the alt. prompt and I really wanted to write it out. Let me know your thoughts! divider by @summer-of-bad-batch
Warnings: Mentions of blood. Pain.

Working to escape Tantiss was a dire and serious operation. When Omega had returned to Crosshair’s cell with a messy and unclear plan to escape, Crosshair had no choice but to go with the flow depending on what this girl was up to. They had both managed to knock out multiple troopers and use the datapad Omega obtained from Nala Se to navigate their way out. The Emperor was currently keeping Hemlock busy, so he wouldn’t be an issue until word eventually reached him about their escape.
Omega and Crosshair blasted their way through Tantiss to reach the lurca hound pens and use Batcher’s former pen to get out. Emerie caught them in the act, trying to convince them to stand down and stay here. Crosshair kept his blaster raised towards Emerie.
“You’re not thinking clearly. Neither of you,” Emerie began. It was too dangerous for them out there. Escaping wasn’t going to make things any better for any of them.
“Emerie, I can’t do that.” Omega stepped forward. “I’m not going to remain trapped here. You’re a clone too. Help us.”
“Escape is not possible, Omega.” Before Emerie continued on, she caught sight of the way Omega looked at her. Crosshair didn’t notice, keeping his eyes focused on Emerie. Omega’s expression was telling her she needs to comply with the plan.
The plan. She was barely told any of the details. She only had to cooperate with it. But Emerie had a very bad feeling about all of this.
“Omega, please-”
A bright blue ring from Crosshair’s blaster struck Emerie. She grunted, hitting the ground. Omega sighed and straightened up.
“Come on, we have to go.” Omega followed Crosshair, running down Batcher’s old kennel and reaching the outside environment of the mountain. Omega, frustrated, groaned and wiped off the dirt from her clothes. Now they were outside, and the ship was out there for their taking.
A few troopers followed Omega and Crosshair to try and stop them in their escape efforts. Crosshair had suggested they follow Plan 72, a plan the Batch had taught her to use in any situation involving a ship and to get control of one. Mentioning Tech’s name after a long time made Omega feel nostalgic. It had been five months since that incident. The day someone who was close to her seemed to be gone forever.
This wasn’t the right time to remember all that again. Omega had to keep going. She had to find the men she called her brothers.
Omega and Crosshair fought them off with their blasters, reaching the crashed shuttle and trying to bring it online. The small group of troopers were closing in and the shuttle still wasn’t functioning. After a few tries, the shuttle finally turned on its engine. Omega used the shuttle to attack the troopers. Batcher, who had run by after picking up Omega’s scent in the jungle, fought the troopers alongside Crosshair and ran onto the ramp once Omega opened up the shuttle.
Once all three of them were on board, the two focused on the controls and getting into the heights of space to launch the shuttle into hyperspace. Multiple aerial fighters followed behind, attempting to strike down their shuttle and ruin their escape.
It was highly likely now at this point that Hemlock was informed of their escape. Omega was getting tired of the fighters on their tail and repeatedly blasting at the shuttle. When was something going to be done about them?
“The hyperdrive’s almost online,” Crosshair said from the back.
Just in time. Omega noticed that the aerial fighters diverted back down to the planet’s atmosphere, leaving them alone. Crosshair signaled, and Omega shoved the lever forward.
“They’ve escaped,” said Commander Scorch. The control room had gone silent, resuming their work. Emerie’s heart rate slightly grew. She was too worried about Omega. What if something went wrong during all of this? Surely the clones weren’t that clueless to not sense that something is up.
Hemlock had a wicked grin glued to his face. “Now we wait.”
***
Crash landing was not the intention at all, but the shuttle still served its purpose for their escape. Omega, Crosshair, and Batcher ventured through the streets of Lau to find a way to contact their brothers.
Omega tried bribing and gambling, managing to snatch up a bunch of credits to aid in their payment for a ship off of here. Crosshair suggested multiple times that he should take care of business with his skills, which Omega repeatedly refused. Now the hound had gotten lost because of Crosshair’s carelessness when he was supposed to be keeping a close eye on her.
Omega squinted her eyes and groaned. She placed a hand on the side of her head, which slightly ached and felt like something pounding her head. Part of her mind told her that she could just leave the hound behind and keep going to reach her brothers, but another side said she should go back for her. They don’t leave their own behind.
“Kid?” Crosshair noticed Omega rubbing her head. She looked like she was going to faint.
Omega shook her head and straightened up. She had to keep going. “I’m fine. Maybe I just need some water.”
The two had reached the area where Batcher and many other creatures were being kept. Omega knew they needed to infiltrate somehow and get the hound back. There was a large cargo ship nearby. That could be used to get them out of here.
Crosshair suggested once again that his own skills be used to attack the area so they could get out quickly and have less problems for them in their way. Omega was getting frustrated by his continuous asking and sharply turned to him.
“Can you stop? We’re not going to do that.”
Crosshair was struck aback by the look Omega gave him and the way she snapped at him. A serious glare, and her eyes looked cold. Has she ever looked at him that way? Has she ever spoken to him in a manner where she seemed so angry?
Omega blinked and shook her head again. Her face softened, and she looked at Crosshair again. The same Omega he saw everyday near his cell on Tantiss was back. She put on a smile. “I’ll note it.”
Crosshair helped Omega get over the fence and into the compound. He couldn’t help but feel something was wrong with her. But there wasn’t any time to worry right now. Maybe she was stressing out too much about finding their brothers.
They had been caught by the same Imperial officer Omega gambled against, and she finally allowed Crosshair to use a blaster and attack everyone. Omega had found Batcher and freed many of the animals being kept in cages to attack the troopers and keep them out of their way. The three reached the cargo ship and got it operational, launching it into the air. Omega quickly took off and launched into hyperspace, sending a message and coordinates using the Batch’s personal comm channel.
While Omega flew, Batcher kept herself close to her. Batcher sniffed Omega. She didn’t seem right. Batcher whined, getting Omega’s attention.
“What is it?” Omega asked her. Batcher whined again, sitting down. Omega raised an eyebrow at her. “Nothing’s wrong,” she said, a hint of annoyance in her tone. “Why don’t you go check on Crosshair?”
The door slid open as Crosshair entered the bridge. He looked at Omega, who seemed okay right now. She was so focused on finding them. “Omega,” he began. “It’s been months. We don’t even know if they’re still alive-”
“They’ll be there,” Omega snapped, meeting his eyes. She turned back to the controls, keeping her gaze focused on the endless blue stripes of hyperspace.
They have to be. If they’re not, I don’t know what I’m going to do next.
They were there. The Marauder was in sight as Omega directed the ship towards the ground. Her heart jumped with joy. At last, she was finally reunited with her brothers. The soldiers who had taken care of her.
Hunter and Wrecker greeted Omega with hugs and tears. Omega broke down in sobs. She had long waited for the day she could see them again.
Ow. Another tiny headache. She wiped away her tears and swallowed. The headache’s pain went away for now. Crosshair had stepped down the ramp, and her brothers got to see him again after so long. Batcher followed down, which surprised Wrecker that they had brought a creature with them. But there wasn’t any time for arguments right now. It was time to go back home.
***
Omega woke up the next morning in her room on the Marauder, the sun shining down on her. The last things she remembered was landing on Pabu and greeting everyone, changing into some better clothes, getting some water, and feeling some more of the headaches before everything went black. She sat up and picked up Lula, smiling at her.
Remember the plan.
Omega slowly got up, putting Lula down and heading into the cockpit. She had to figure out a way to initiate the plan.
Hunter and Wrecker were there waiting for her, sipping some warm fruit tea. Omega lit up a smile, acting normal.
“How are you feeling?” Hunter asked. She had seemed really tired before she knocked out last night. He worried about what she endured on Tantiss that made her that way.
“Better. Where’s Crosshair?” she asked.
Hunter and Wrecker looked at each other. “He wasn’t here when we woke up,” said Hunter. “He’s still getting adjusted to everything.”
Everyone needed to be together for this to happen. Her head kept speaking to her, telling her to comply. “I’ll check on him,” Omega said. She paused, turning back to them. “Will Echo be coming soon by any chance?” she asked.
“He’s on his way,” Wrecker said. Omega smiled and nodded, leaving to go see Crosshair. She had to wait for the right moment.
Crosshair was spending time with AZI, doing some target practice. Omega watched from above while she walked down the hill. He wasn’t doing well at all.
Omega squeezed her eyes shut in pain. There was that headache again. She itched the side of her head and kept walking.
Crosshair saw Omega coming by after AZI exclaimed her name. She had knocked out hard last night, and she seemed to be up and bright again. Omega brought up the names of those locals who had delivered a bowl of fruit to Crosshair earlier. She also suggested talking to Hunter after he sensed that Hunter and Wrecker were watching him, but Crosshair did not feel like doing that at all. Not after all that happened. His hand continued trembling.
“How’s your headache?” Crosshair avoided the suggestion. He had noticed Omega running a hand through her hair a few times yesterday. It reminded him of how he would do the same whenever he got headaches on the area around his burn scars.
“It’s fine,” Omega replied with a straight face. Crosshair knew she was lying. Something was up with her.
They heard Hunter’s whistle and a ship flying above. Echo was here. Perfect.
Omega greeted Echo with a hug, and the group was ready to discuss the intel Crosshair had about Tantiss and the clones there, and all Omega knew about everything with the datapad she still had.
“You go. I’ll be right there. Need to grab the datapad.” Omega let the squad head to upper Pabu to sit down and talk with some drinks. Crosshair watched Omega run back inside the Marauder. Batcher stood next to him, letting out a small whine and looking up at Crosshair.
“I know.” Even Batcher sensed something was wrong with Omega. But neither of them could figure out what.
“Crosshair, you comin’?” Wrecker asked. Crosshair looked back at the Marauder. Maybe he would sit Omega down later and ask what was bothering her. Or she didn’t want to talk about it at all, just like he didn’t want to talk about his trembling hand. Crosshair gave Wrecker a nod and walked away as Batcher followed behind.
***
Night fell. The squad had gone over a plan to head to an old Imperial base Crosshair had been to before so they could get the datapad working and gather more information about Tantiss. Hunter and Crosshair continued to avoid eye contact as the squad gathered their gear and loaded up the ship Echo had arrived on.
Omega sat on top of a cargo box, repeatedly tapping her foot. Her headache had returned earlier, and when Hunter asked about it, she replied, “I’m fine.” She kept her gaze locked onto the ground, hardly blinking.
“Omega.” Omega looked up, being startled by Wrecker’s voice. “You okay?”
Omega stood up, lighting up another normal smile. “Yep! Just waiting on the cargo to get all loaded up. Anything I can help with?”
Crosshair closed a cargo box, raising an eyebrow at Omega. She scratched her head again when no one was looking but him. He didn’t know if it was a good idea bringing Omega along right now with whatever pain she was feeling in her head. But she was too stubborn to listen to anyone tell her no. He would have tried talking to the others about how she was acting on Lau, but he doubted they’d believe him.
Echo was organizing a few pieces of gear in the back of the cargo ship when the sensors went off. Multiple ships were incoming towards the island. He immediately ran outside. “Boys, there’s incoming ships approaching.”
The squad saw shuttles flying overhead and landing around Pabu. Citizens started screaming and running back to their homes once troopers began patrolling around the area.
Crosshair’s hand started trembling even more. The Empire was here. How did they even find this place?
“The Marauder, now!” Hunter screamed. Omega followed the boys and Batcher cautiously towards the Marauder, aerial fighters gliding overhead. Blaster fire shot down from above, striking the Marauder and destroying it within seconds. The squad stopped and stared in shock. Their home was gone. Omega’s room was gone.
Wait. Gonky was inside the Marauder. Lula was inside the Marauder. Even they’re now gone too.
Troopers were running towards the area where Echo’s ship was parked. Echo had run back inside and tried to send an emergency message to Rex, but all of their comms were being jammed. He saw troopers circle around the ship, hearing blaster fire coming from outside.
The Batch circled around Omega to protect her, keeping their blasters upright and shooting at the troopers running towards them. Echo ran outside and joined the fight.
They were getting outnumbered. White armor piled up in many rows with blasters pointed towards the squad. Batcher growled at them.
Hunter sensed some troopers coming directly towards the squad. He turned and was instantly hit hard by a trooper, falling on his back. The squad huddled around Omega, but multiple other troopers closed in, attacking each of the Batch one by one. Omega distanced herself away from every attack, moving away from her squad.
These weren’t regular troopers. They had dark green armor, similar to the operative Rex had captured a long time ago. Each of them attacked the members of the Batch with brutal force and different weapons while the troopers in white observed, slamming them down one by one.
Crosshair tried to fight. His anxiety was increasing. His shaking hands could barely hold his weapon. The trooper was strong, each of their blades trying to strike him down. It was the same armor that would shadow Tantiss wherever the clone prisoners were taking for… training.
Batcher barked and stood in front of Omega. One of the troopers crept closer to the girl, and Batcher had to act. She launched at the trooper and tried to bite them. The trooper fought back and used their strength to take Batcher down. One of the bigger and stronger troopers grabbed Batcher and threw her to the ground. Batcher whined, struggling to get up.
Omega was unprotected and out in the open. The boys fought against the troopers as hard as they could, yet their talents were unmatched. Each soldier fell to the ground with blood dripping down from their faces, pinned down by a trooper. Binders were attached to their hands.
One of the troopers caught hold of Omega, turning her around and holding her close. The trooper held his sniper rifle with a tight hand on her shoulder.
“Let me go!” Omega tried to get him to let go of her, but he wouldn’t budge. She sighed as the operative attached binders to her hands. Her brothers glared at the trooper.
“Let her go!” Wrecker exclaimed.
“If you do anything to her-” Hunter’s words were cut short when a blaster was pushed into the back of his hair. The squad were on their knees, binders holding their hands together.
Crosshair wondered why Omega wasn’t fighting back more. Knowing her, she would be screaming and trying to get away from the trooper, fighting back and attempting to grab their weapon. But she stood still. Scratched her head a bit again. Omega looked at her brothers, and Crosshair swore he saw darkness in her eyes.
Control.
His hand trembled more violently.
A few troopers moved aside, and the operatives stood to attention behind the Batch. He was here.
Hemlock walked forward, fiddling with his gloved hand. He placed his hands behind his back and focused his icy eyes on the Batch with a grin. “Putting the life of a soldier behind and hiding away on a discrete island, are we?”
The Batch watched him with burning hatred in their eyes. Hemlock’s eyes moved towards Crosshair. “You two put up quite a fight, but I thank you for complying with the young clone’s instructions. I knew all of you could easily be fooled by her.”
“What are you talking about?” Echo asked. He still didn’t understand how Hemlock managed to track them. Why was he referencing Omega so much?
Hunter glanced at Crosshair. He still didn’t trust him, but it was an unlikely possibility that he did anything. Crosshair was with them all day.
Crosshair noticed Hunter staring. None of this was him. He didn’t even have the means to contact Hemlock and bring him here. But someone did. Crosshair looked at Omega again, who remained still next to the operative.
“Maybe you should ask your sister yourself.” Hemlock suggested.
All eyes went to Omega. She looked at her brothers. Now that Hunter was getting a closer look, she didn’t appear completely the same. Her face looked hardened and serious, and she seemed to be looking sharply at her brothers. She never had looked at them this way.
“Omega, what is he talking about?” Wrecker asked her. She didn’t reply, keeping a straight face.
“Omega…” Hunter began, but he didn’t know what was the right question to ask. She wasn’t acting right.
“How did you track us?” Crosshair spoke up. “What did you shove into my head?” His mind wandered back to Omega.
“Oh, it’s not what you think.” Hemlock gave the CX operative a nod. The operative unlocked her binders, allowing her to give up the act. Omega walked over to Hemlock with a straight face while her brothers watched her, confused.
Crosshair had known something was wrong with her. He regretted not acting sooner.
She stood next to Hemlock with her hands behind her back, mimicking Hemlock’s stance. Her mouth curled into a grin and her eyes darkened. The Batch couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
“You all trust her so much that you wouldn’t notice that she went behind your back and sent me your location.” He placed a hand on Omega’s head, caressing the loose strands of her hair. “Little Omega just needed to wait for the right moment to reveal herself.”
“What did you do to her?!” Hunter screamed. Fury raged in him. Omega was listening to the very man who had caused them pain for the past five months. They had fought so hard to get her back, and she wasn’t even the same girl now. She wasn’t his young and curious girl. Hunter tried to get up and fight back, but was pushed right back down by the operatives.
The right question arrived in Crosshair’s mind, which worried him the most. “What did you put in Omega’s head?” he asked, his voice shaking.
“All will be explained. For now,” Hemlock paused. He locked eyes with the operatives. Without another instruction, the operatives stunned the Batch and knocked them out, using two to three rings to make sure Wrecker was completely knocked out.
Omega watched her brothers fall to the ground. Deep inside, Omega felt worried for them, angry they were being treated this way. She was the one who had sent Pabu’s location to Tantiss using the Marauder while getting the datapad earlier. No one completely suspected her, and how could they? She was their little innocent ray of sunshine. Hemlock had done everything he could to ensure that she followed his orders, and Omega complied with the plan without any refusal. Now it is complete.
They served their purpose. Now go where you actually belong. The voice in her head spoke to her, controlling her every thought. The operatives picked up the Batch one by one and piled them up like cargo, taking them to the ship.
“Come, Omega,” said Hemlock, turning around to head back to the shuttle he arrived in. Omega was about to follow, but she felt like turning back for a few seconds. She watched the men she had spent so much time with ever since she had left Kamino disappear from her view. Omega didn’t know why her eyes felt like tearing up when she saw their heartbroken faces. When Hunter screamed in pain.
“Omega.” She heard Hemlock’s voice. A tiny headache resurfaced. Omega blinked and turned away. You don’t need them anymore.
She didn’t. She had a purpose somewhere else. Omega took Hemlock’s outstretched hand, walking alongside him and leaving the island behind.
***
Hunter awoke first with a light shining above him. He was laying down, his arms restricted by the cuffs on the experimentation tube. His entire body was kept strapped down so he wouldn’t be able to move. They were definitely on Mount Tantiss, far away from protection. A few operatives stood around, guarding the room.
The others were kept in the same position around Hunter, experimentation tubes lined up in a circle in the room they were being held in. They slowly woke up groggily after being knocked out for hours.
Crosshair’s heart rate accelerated. No. Not again. I can’t do this. It was the same room he had been taken to before many times with other clones. The same room where Hemlock tried to mess with their minds and make him one of them. Hemlock had already managed to make one of their own succumb to his control. But the others didn’t know that because Crosshair couldn’t bring himself to tell them.
Echo struggled with the cuffs, trying to get himself out. He could see flashbacks of Skako Minor and the way he was kept locked up for the Separatists to control and make use of. He couldn’t escape. There was no way out, and there were droids around in this room. Echo panicked. He wanted to get out. He couldn’t do this again. Rex likely didn’t even know he was here now. Who would save them?
The doors opened as Hemlock and the operative that had Omega in their clutches walked in. All eyes turned to the doctor as he stepped into the middle of the circle. “Good, you’re all awake.”
Omega. Hunter’s mind traveled back to her. He remembered her stoic expression and the way she stood next to Hemlock. He couldn’t see the bright and outgoing girl he took care of for months anymore.
“Where is Omega?” Hunter growled. Hemlock turned to him, smiling.
“She’s fine. Omega is exactly where I want her to stay, and she is complying with my orders perfectly.” Hemlock let out a soft chuckle. “If she was older and wasn’t needed for another project, I might have made use of her in another way.” He looked at the operative standing next to him. “She has a very strong resilience, but I was able to break that.”
Hunter couldn’t imagine their young sister acting like one of those troopers that had struck them down with so much force. Her beautiful face masked and hidden away for no one to ever see again except for the eyes of this monster, blindly controlled and used for annihilation all in the name of the Empire.
“What… did you do to her?” Wrecker asked, still waking up. He was getting tired of these games. Wrecker was hurt by the way Omega looked at him with darkness in her eyes. All of her playfulness was gone. His best friend, gone.
“Right, I should keep my word and explain everything.” Hemlock fiddled with his gloved hand again. He turned to Crosshair, making Crosshair feel uncomfortable.
“CT-9904 already knows about the tactics I use to erase the mind of a clone and make them into something much more useful to the Empire. Everyone now views clones as something that can be thrown away and is no longer needed to keep order in this galaxy. But I see them as opportunities to create stronger beings for the Emperor to take advantage of. Crosshair…”
Crosshair’s name slipped out like venom from Hemlock. He continued, “...failed to yield to my tactics before, but I’ve been trying out a few newer modifications. And your Omega became my first test subject.”
Every word was making Hunter get even more furious. He just wanted to see his girl.
Hemlock turned to Hunter and crept forward with slow steps. “I managed to design a type of implant that is nothing like the chips the Kaminoans had placed into your heads. Instead of being a physical implant, it’s an electrical shock that when enhanced enough, it can completely take over one’s mind and follow anyone’s orders. Something that cannot be reversed.
“I made a plan for Omega to bring all of you to me, and there had to be a specific way. So the electrical shock was used on Omega, piercing into her head until her screams stopped.” Hemlock stopped walking, close to Hunter. “She is fully under my control, and she did well. Now she will be used for Project Necromancer as long as she is alive.”
“You kriffing monster-”
Before Wrecker could say more and try to fight against his handcuffs with his strength, he was hit with multiple electrical shocks. The operative in the room had punched a button to activate the shocks. Wrecker groaned as it stopped.
Hunter felt like crying. Omega had those headaches. Like Crosshair and Wrecker did with their chips. But there was no chip inside Omega. Everyone had fallen blind to her innocent lies and what they couldn’t figure out.
“Now now, there’s no need to get aggressive.” Hemlock grinned, motioning for the operative to come forward. “Omega was a successful test experiment, and her mind is all for my taking. I’m just surprised my previous tactics worked on your dear brother before I changed them.”
Now what was he talking about? Silence fell in the room, broken by a laugh from the doctor. “Let me show you what I mean.”
He gave the operative a nod, who set down his rifle and removed his helmet. No one believed what they saw.
Tech was here. Standing right in front of them and dressed in the same dark green armor the other operatives were given. His eyes were unmasked, one replaced by a cybernetic eye similar to Wrecker’s and the other wearing an advanced contact lens to support his vision.
Crosshair trembled. His brothers now knew the truth of what happened to Tech after believing he was dead for months. He wished he had the strength to say something earlier.
It was likely Omega also knew what had become of him. Crosshair had noticed that she looked saddened when they mentioned Tech during their escape. Guess that was another act.
“CT-9902 was able to surrender to my tactics, and he’s been a fine operative. Omega and Tech, was it? They are both in my hands, and I will make use of them. The same way I am going to turn all of you into mindless soldiers compliant to me only. You all will please the Emperor on my behalf.”
Each member of the squad was hit with ribbons of electricity. Their painful screams filled up the room, music to Hemlock’s ears.
Tech… no. Not anymore. CX-2 watched the members of the Bad Batch suffer in anguish with a stone face. He couldn’t feel anything. But he felt like he used to know them. They would soon become operatives under his command if they survived. Nothing more.
***
Omega leaned her head back against the wall. She could hear their screams passing through the walls while being in a room near the training room. Omega had asked what would become of them, and Hemlock said they would be conditioned to become better soldiers and useful to the Empire.
They had their purpose, and she had her own here. Her blood was useful for the Emperor’s project, and she was willing to do whatever it takes to make everyone proud of her.
You are vital to this project. I am proud of you for complying.
A fresh loose tear made its way down her cheek. Omega didn’t know why she was crying. She continued to hear the Batch’s screams, causing more tears to roll down. She wiped her face and groaned. They didn’t matter anymore. Nothing could ever be as it was anymore. It was time to move forward.

Welcome to your first blog!
I noticed from your other posts that you mentioned long form writing platforms aren’t that familiar to you. How does your investigative mindset steady you while writing about personal topics? It already seems like the Writ318 course questions are very introspective and although research goes far, I’m very curious about your strategy.

If I had to describe myself in terms of as a write, I would describe myself as investigative minded in my writing. I tend to do what I can to find out the background of what I am trying to write about. It would seem lazy to not try and give as much detail as possible into a subject that I am working on in my writing. Being able to write with the confidence that what I am putting out is to the best of my knowledge as being the truth is so invigorating. Which is why I end up with more material to write about than is actually needed, and that can either be good or bad depending on how much I actually need to write about.
For me I have always seen web writing as journalism due to having such little interaction with anyone who considers themselves a web writer. I tend to only have interactions with people who post pictures and not much else.

Some healing photos of the piercing because I've been sharing them on discord:

The top one is the most recent, from today. Seems like it gets crusty and then I clean it off and it takes a couple days to get crusty again. Week 2 significantly more annoying than week1- week 1 was "do not touch or it will HURT VERY BAD but otherwise ignorable" and week 2 is "very itchy but watch out!"
Fun thing to watch my sideburns grow out through the week.

Helsaween 2024
Icon was a collaboration by @nap-hime & @magentacravat
Boo! Did you scream? Be afraid, be very afraid!
Last year, the Helsa server on Discord (👻https://discord.gg/BXy3yfff👻) arranged a 4 prompts & free days event, and we’re so delighted to announce our return to host it again this October 2024.
We hope you guys are bursting with spooky spirit!
Our (not-a-cult) group are opening our arms to welcome fellow Helsa lovers to participate in a month-long Helsaween event!
Don't be afraid to let creativity and inspiration creep in! Create fanfiction, fanart, comics, edits, mood boards, videos, headcanons, poems, essays, cosplay, anything you fancy!
🎃🎃🎃
EVENTS
Week 1 (1-7 October) — Illusion
What is real and what isn't? Was it all a lie or is there still something to uncover? The line between truth and fantasy often blurs, and perceptions can shift, leaving you to wonder if anything is ever what it seems.
Week 2 (8-14 October) — Deadly Dynamic
The stakes are high and the outcome is uncertain, will this couple conquer together or be each other's undoing?
Week 3 (15-21 October) — Myth
Pssst! Heard the legend? Something lurks in the woods — a haunting, spirits, or something otherworldly. Dangerous? Thrilling? Life-changing? It’s up to you to decide, that is, if you believe in the myth.
Week 4 (22-28 October) — Disguise
Whether you're hiding in plain sight or playing a part, anyone can appear as something they’re not. Masks, cloaks, hidden identities; who's behind them and what secrets lie beneath?
Free days (29-31 October) — Free space / Repost
🎃🎃🎃
The examples above are merely ideas. Feel free to use your own interpretations of the prompts.
🎃🎃🎃
When posting your work, please:
1. Tag @helsaweenfun
2. Tag #Helsaween 2024 and #Helsaween2024 and #Helsaween
3. Tag the Week(s) your work is inspired by (i.e. #Week One / #Week 1 / #WeekOne / #Week1), along with other appropriate tagging (fandom, characters, ship, spoilers, NSFW and content warnings).
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask :) Have fun and Happy Halloween!

Week 1-2 of Interviewing Different Businesses
Me and my groupmates, Angel Jean Obsioma, Ian Gariel B. Ramas, and Francen P. Sellote, roam around the city to look for businesses that we can go to and ask the business owner or staff if we can ask a few questions regarding their business, so that we can gain knowledge and in-depth understanding about how business works, and we also asked permission if it is okay to take a picture.
Here is the list of the businesses we interviewed and the key information we gathered for week 1-2.
1. N Jess General Merchandise

The N Jess General Merchandise is a hardware business that is owned by Ms. Carmela Barton and her father, and was established in the year 2015. It is located in Door 3 Lacar Building, Zone 12 Upper Carmen, CDOC. Before it became hardware, the very first business that they did, with her family, was they were a wholesaler of Coke and beer. Additionally, they were engaged in the sale of nails. But because the nails are more in demand or needed than their coke and beer and the staff member that was assigned to their wholesale business failed to do his/her duty, they focused more on this. They are rolling the money that they got from selling nails to grow their business, but now it is in line with hardware. Their family also wants to build this business so that her father won't go back as an OFW, as it will serve his retirement venture.
Now that their business grows, aside from selling hardware, they also do partner contractors. They also have 17 staff. But she also said that even though their business is now established, there are really months that their business is slow in sales, but still they were able to pay their expenses.
Then we also asked about how they were able to start or build their business. She answered that they first looked for a place or location as to where to put the business, a location where it can be seen by people, and then look for suppliers.
2. Happy Sip

Happy Sip is a milk tea business owned by two sisters, Rema Hasan and Merlyn Hasan, built on March 5, 2024, in Zone 12 Upper Zayas Carmen, CDOC. Aside from selling milk tea, they also have coffee and snacks. They solely own the business, as they don't have any partnerships, but they franchise it. They also have another business, which is an ukay-ukayan.
They came up with this business since their other business, ukay-ukayan, is not that good in terms of sales, so they did this business to have other income. We also asked the first thing they did to have this business, and Ms. Rema Hasan said that they first contacted someone on Happy Sip as they want to franchise it, as this business has a main store in Manila, and then asked a deal about the supplier. She also added that when they ask for supplies, they usually get those supplies, like around a month, since the supply is from Manila, and the delivery can usually take a month, and that is why they also ask for a supply in advance.
And lastly, she said that there are really times that the sales of their business are not that big since a milk tea is not something that people need on a daily basis, unlike rice that people really needs in their daily lives, as it is just a want and people do not crave for it every day.
3. AJ Water Refilling Station

AJ Water Refilling Station is owned by Mrs. Leonor Jamito and was established on June 28, 2024. It is located in Zone 12-C Uzlai Upper Zayas Carmen, CDOC. Mrs. Jamito shared with us that she put this business up so that her children will have something left or depend on, because we do not know when will be our last time on earth. She also said that there are only a maximum of 3 staff that she has, including her, as they are just starting. She added that you should just keep holding on, as there are really times that there are not that many customers, but there are also times that there are a lot. We also asked her about what she did first to put up this business, she answered that she saved money first, as this kind of business needs to have a large amount of capital because of the materials that are needed in this business.
4. Jasmine Garden

Jasmine Garden is a business owned by Mrs. Amelita Dap-og which was established in the year 1992, and the main garden is located in Gusa, CDOC, which where they are invited by the LGU so that they can help in the beautification of the place, but her and her family is currently residing in Tagoloan. Her business is about the different kinds or variaties of flowers, and also landscapping, which is where her son, Alejandro Dap-og is in-charge.
In the beginning of her business, she and her family, which is also the ones who's with her in managing her business, they only sell small amount of flowers. Additionally, she also said that upon raising her business, she first propagated her plants. And now, she can accepts suppliers of her plants regardless of how big the display would be.
We also asked her as to what is the first thing that she does to established their business, and she said that she looks for a perfect location as to where to placed it.
And she shared to us that their business is mostly invited and participated in several floral diplays such as festivals, just like the Kaamulan. They also joined in different contests and won some prizes, like Best in Flowering, and Best in Bonsai Plant. And in the recent Higalaay festival, she also participated in the display, located in the Gaston Park, and said that for them to join the displays, they must submit their business permit.
5. Aquarist Fish Shop

Aquarist Fish Shop is a business owned by Mrs. Devenia Socorro M. Chua, and their store was built in the year 2010 at Rizal Fernandez Streets, Barangay 1, CDOC, but they were already selling fish in 1993. Their business is not only selling different kinds of fish, but they also have different animals, accessories for aquariums, and fish foods.
They do not have any partnerships; they solely manage their family business. Their store only has 3 staff, which is also just her, her husband, and her son.
We also asked her what are the things that they did to start this business and why did they came up with it, and she answered that the first was to invest and then set up the aquariums since this is where the fish will be placed. She added that they also searched for suppliers, and then along the way, their suppliers will be the ones to contact them to ask if they still have supplies. She also said that they created this business so that they have income, and they chose to sell fish as his husband is fond of different kinds of fish.
Here is the link to directly access my insights.

Story Things for This Week
1. Imagery of an unkempt Pietro has a direct connection to how we’ll soon be seeing him (behavior wise) in a more real state, not the composed businessman I kicked the story off with.
2. You can blame @nilonne for even putting this shaving concept in my head ( and also @joannebernice for the poses i found with a quick search!)
#there's also more of a connection between these two going forward#cause how can you not feel connected to somebody after that hospital scenario#sink or swim extras

This isn't much of a revamp/new designs leak or anything, but rather a retroactive showcase regarding some material used for W1 that got modified mostly due to buncha personal doubts I had about adding them openly, and as you may assume, I've sort of reconsidered and decided to post -at least- the ones I like the most of the bunch
So, remember Angry Butterfly's "blue" scene with the shadows at the BG? Well, case you didn't notice, these were some of the parodists I've known of and consider to be mostly influential/active regarding the AGK community (at least in the moment I did the designs, but you get the idea). Most are classic designs due to the time they had been around (also reminder week1's plotpoint is that BF&GF are time travelling) or at least what I could gather about their respective parodists' concepts (not many people have fleshed out avatars/their designs redos could be hard to find so it was sort of a challenge to work with it) Also -Gene (the purple fella) was designed as a ghost by accident. I thought TheUnknownKoala4545 (aka Casper and formerly GeneBernardino) had killed him off based off a drawing he made that sort of gave me that vibe. Still, sorry for the mistake oops List (left-right/up-down)
1.- PrinceStickFigure 2.- Agkandvideomaker2000 3.- Adrenaline21 (mostly know him by UnknownKoala's old parodies) 4.- Casper and Gene (UnknownKoala's old avatars) 5.- Zerty (ZertyTV, design's from early-middle 2010's if i'm not mistaken) and Antonio (SkiBoi197 formerly AntonioComedy2001 i think) 6.- Shiyamasaleem (dArt fella, he a funny guy)
hope I don't get nerfed for this :')

Written for the Week 3 prompt "Hickeys" of the Aug-Kissed event hosted by @aug-kissed.
He almost didn’t notice it in his sleepy haze. But passing the bathroom mirror, he stopped in his tracks when he saw, out of the corner of his eye, a large purple bruise where his neck met his shoulder.
Greg Lestrade had a lot to answer for.
He was asleep just as Mycroft had left him, his gorgeously tanned body sprawled across the bed under the disarrayed sheets, silver hair tousled against the white pillows, snoring gently without a care in the world. He was beautiful.
Mycroft climbed back into bed. Mornings like this were hard to come by. Especially when they were in London. But they were on holiday and that meant Mycroft could indulge in luxuries he hadn’t even dreamt of.
His husband was such a luxury.
He nuzzled against Greg’s neck, wrapping an arm around the sleeping man, taking in his scent, relishing the warmth.
At the beginning of their relationship, Mycroft had been terrified of how much he’d craved touch, how the barest caress would leave his skin burning. It took him a long while to get used to the feeling, or even to the mere idea of it. And all throughout those years, Greg had been with him, steady as ever, offering him closeness whenever he needed, eventually accepting Mycroft hesitant, awkward hugs with pride. Years into their marriage, Mycroft, while it doesn’t hurt as much as it used to, still craves that gentle intimacy as if he’s parched.
Now, they were here.
Mycroft draped a leg over his husband’s thigh, cold feet be damned.
Greg jolted awake. “Wha-”
“Hello, my love,” Mycroft said, feigning innocence and reaching up to kiss him. “Did I wake you?”
Greg smiled as sleep faded away with the realization. “You and your cold feet,” he murmured, smiling into the kiss. As he coaxed Mycroft to lie down again on his back and straddled him, Mycroft could see the exact moment when Greg noticed the bruise. Greg’s sleepy smile visibly turned into a mischievous smirk.
“That’s a nasty mosquito bite you’ve got there,” Greg said, touching the bruise gently with his fingertips.
“It is, isn’t it? Do you think I should do something about it?”
Greg shrugged. “Maybe. Or maybe you can let me take care of it?”
“Oh?”
In response, Greg pushed the sheets away. The unrestrained hunger in his eyes as he gazed at his husband’s naked body sent Mycroft’s pulse skittering.
“I’ve always wondered,” Greg said and his voice lowered to a whisper. “Looks like I was right. You do bruise so nicely.”
“And what do you plan on doing with this knowledge?”
He watched Greg glide down towards his feet. Brown eyes twinkled with promise as he gently lifted Mycroft’s leg.
“Something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time," Greg said and placed a soft kiss on the inside of his husband's thigh. "Relax darling, I’ll take care of you.”

January 1, Day 1
1 day 2015

I've stared at that card for the past 7 months wishing the new year would get here already & it finally has. I have kind of a big resolution that will probably take all year but I want to get off all the medications I'm on, get myself healthy & back to living and enjoying life! #wishmeluck #newyears #resolution #goodbye2014 #hello2015 #project365 #day1
I started project 365 because I needed something to keep me going. I was bed ridden at the time due to medication induced vertigo. It was awful and I wanted to die. It lasted months and my doctor was no help. I was hopeless. I starred at this card that a friend of my mom had made her for months just wishing for a change. That change was me.
1 day 2016

Today was a nice chill day! (January's theme is blue!) #shadesofblue #chill #relaxed #january #hello2016 #picoftheday #project365 #day1
By the time I hit the second year I was ready to mix things up and add a theme each month. Each month in 2016 had a different color scheme, starting with blue!
1 day 2017

Happy New Year!

1 day 2020

The next year I did a weekly theme to recover from the previous year!
It is Time to start year 6! This Time I’m aiming for a weekly theme! Try to guess

The 2 years after that were whatever the heck I wanted!
One day I’m not gonna do this anymore but I guess this is not the day! Year 7! No themes! No restrictions! Whatever the hell I want! This is the only picture I took today! Cheers to less stress and more fun!

1 day 2024

It's a new year and the start of my 10th year doing a picture every day! This year I've partnered with my mom, we'll be drawing themes each day. I will continue photographing while she will be working in her mixed media journal. Today was "stones". Which one speaks to you?

Alright! That is day one of this year. I officially can't stop now!
