#principal skinner pride flag for my gay little dogs #you see this is why my dog people need to see the same spectrum of colors we do #I feel like their literal world view would be drastically altered if they couldn't distinquish between orange and green #I'd argue that red is a significant color in practically every culture #it's instinctual associations with danger food and fertility make it attention grabbing on a visceral monkey brain level #I strongly suspect the impact would be at least somewhat negated if it was a muted brownish khaki instead #meaning it wouldn't be used in visual communication nearly as much #I would have to center my art and worldbuilding more around yellow and blue because those would be the colors the dogs would see clearly #right? is that sound logic?#and that would just make me immensely sad because warm colors are my favorites :<#answered #m0notropa-uniflora #something that continues to boggle my mind is that there are animals that see more colors than humans #we like to assume that our color vision is the best we can see it ALL look at that rainbow there that's the full set #yes primates are well equipped in this regard compared to many other mammals like dogs #but most birds for example have more color receptors in their eyes they have more tools to work with and their rainbow is even wider #it's like sound everyone knows we can't hear sounds that are impossibly low or too high #and we can't process wavelengths of light that are too long (infrared) or too short (ultraviolet)#only what lands between those bookends (called the visible spectrum) reads to our human eyes as “light” and subsequently “color”#I hope I've understood this correctly I'm trying to say that there's a whole layer of vision we don't have the hardware to get access to #and that's just wild to me like we are fundamentally unable to imagine a new color that isn't already included in our built-in selection #but they're definitely there the unimaginable colors are in the room with you and a common pigeon can see them #uv dlc not available for your system

#ask #digital art #I truly am grateful for the amount of people that not only read my journal-essay-thoughts on my comics #but also take the time to respond and/or write their own thoughts on the themes and scenes.#I really love taking apart stories and seeing how the threads weave together. Like flipping over an embroidered tapestry!#Some people thinks it ruins the illusion of what a story is - to me it *elevates* the experience to see the seams.#It's like knowing how they did the practical effects and stunts in a movie. i just rlly got into umetsuba and i kinda want to know how the trans community thinks about tsubaki and other people's usage of she/her pronouns as well as hc him as a trans woman for liking traditionally feminine things... i have opinions of course

LOW VISION PRIDE FLAG

Hello! I am BRAND NEW to actually making my own flags (as in this is the first flag I have ever shared publicly) but have loved vexillology for a long time.

I am Low Vision myself, it’s an identity I have had a complex relationship to since I was a kid, but in trying to bolster my pride I lamented a bit our lack of a flag. To be clear now, I don’t mind anyone from Blind to glasses wearer using this flag. If low vision is a label that helps describe your experience then you are welcome to use this!

This is based on the blind flag posted by a deleted user on the vexillology subreddit, where they used the the same symbol EU cross walk’s do to indicate that the device is there to help blind/low vision folks cross the intersection. (They make sound and light up too.) The symbol was very visually striking in a way that stood out to me as a low vision person.

The circles also remind me of how we use tactile clues to navigate our world, including things like braille. (Though I do not believe this is an actual letter is Braille. I think a message in braille would be difficult to read in this context for blind/low vision folks as I often struggle when I’ve seen that attempted.)

It is also based on the community disability pride flag by Ann Magill. I know green is ironically not the most visually accessible color, but on the community flag the creator used this stripe to represent those of use with sensory related disabilities (blind, D/deaf, Deafblind,etc.) so I wanted to include it as well to tie into that flag.

I know the disability community flag is somewhat less harsh to avoid seizures. I do hope this flag is safe but I was also attempting to insure the contrast was visually accessible.

I also have dysgraphia so I am worried things don’t line up quite right but if someone more sighted and less dysgraphic than me wants to edit please feel free!

#lobotomy corporation #lobcorp #lobotomy corp spoilers #lobcorp spoilers #Gebura #gebura lobotomy corp #wanted to base it off the dialog w myo. general idea of the inability to protect or to leave behind the ever consuming anger #the entrustment to protect yet the self deemed inability to do so #it was supposed to have it to where the drawings were semi transparent and youd see it layer atop of one another but it got too messy #so the ones behind end up being just covered. it has the same general idea though so it works #mostly to just play w a different way of coloring that i tested a doodle before #missed a point w the dialog actually. it was where the flashbacks were taking place and meltin ontop on one another in the scene. that was #what i wanted to base it Visually off of mostly #... i really like drawing w black and red. it just feels like a more violent and agressive pair to communicate and color with #gebura lobcorp #dont know which tag.. i was going to draw her bloodied body different but it seemed excessive. at least for this piece to try and have the #wounds more accurate. its messy anyways but it gets it across

#em draws stuff #wind in the willows #witw #this is a redraw of my attempt at doing designs for these four about two years ago!#wanted to lean a little harder into the late-edwardian and also what I personally think could be fun out of these critters #also going to specify more clearly this time around that I'm drawing badger and ratty as butches!#also did that in the previous iteration but I think I communicated it better this time around #ratty's look here is also based on too-ticky - felt like the right place for some visual influence from tove jansson and tuulikki pietilä!#no glasses for mole in this iteration but I did think she needed something to spice up her design so she's got a little carbide lantern #and then I tried to give miss toad a big hat but it wasn't working out visually... you should still imagine one though :}

Beetail is Spottedpelt’s son.

Deerdapple is Nettleclaw’s daughter.

Bloomheart is the son of Seedpelt and Rabbitfur.

MAPLESHADE'S VENGEANCE ERA

Fallowsong and Sweetbriar are the daughters of Doestar.

Squirrelwhisker is Thrushtalon's daughter. This makes her Oakstar's niece/Pinestar's first cousin.

Mapleshade and Dawnfeather are the daughters of Amberclaw. This makes Mapleshade Nettlebreeze's aunt.

Ravenwing and Hollypelt are the kits of Redstar. This means Mapleshade murdered not just a medicine cat, but also her first cousin.

PRE-GOOSEFEATHER'S CURSE ERA

Rooktail is Hollypelt’s son. This makes him Ravenwing's nephew.

Mistpelt is Bloomheart’s daughter.

Weedwhisker, Flamenose, and Rainfur are the kits of Nettlebreeze and Mallowfur.

Daisytoe was a former member of the Sisters who became separated from them and joined ThunderClan as an older kitten. She was adopted by Flashnose’s parents and the two lived as sisters. Goosefeather inherited his ability to see spirits from his mother's kin.

Stormtail and Rockfall are the sons of Mistpelt and Stonepelt. Bluestar was mentored by her paternal grandfather.

Littlestep is Smallear's father.

Heronwing, Rabbitleap, and Poppydawn are the kits of Weedwhisker and Fallowsong.

PINESTAR'S CHOICE/PRE-BLUESTAR'S PROPHECY ERA

Adderfang is Beetail’s son.

Robinwing and Sparrowpelt/Halftail are siblings fathered by Heronwing.

Fuzzypelt was found abandoned as a kit and adopted by a ThunderClan queen.

Swiftbreeze is the daughter of Flashnose and a WindClan tom.

POST-BLUESTAR'S PROPHECY/PRE-SERIES ERA

Dappletail had at least one litter of kits with Stormtail (Cricketkit and Featherkit are their sons), but none made it to adulthood.

Darkstripe is the son of Willowpelt and a kittypet tom.

When Darkstripe was a warrior, Willowpelt became mates with Whitestorm and had Graykit (Graystripe) with him. This makes Graystripe, Sorreltail, Rainwhisker, and Sootfur full siblings.

Sandstorm is the daughter of Runningwind and a rogue she-cat. The rogue didn't want anything to do with her daughter, so Sandkit was given over to Robinwing as a newborn.

Ashfur, Ferncloud, Elderkit, and Tulipkit are the kits of Brindleface and Darkstripe. He would have nothing to do with Brindleface and the kits after she adopted Cloudkit.
