I’ve always loved the idea that Peach is taller than average while Mario is shorter than average. 5’6” plumber falls in love with 6’0” princess. Then they meet 7’4” space princess, eventually. Mario and Daisy(5’5”) have short person get togethers where they plot to find out wtf the tall ones have been hiding on the top of shelves or cupboards.

Well fellow Callowmoores, it's almost 2024 and that will potentially be the year we see endgame of Campaign 3 - given how we've returned to the Bloody Bridge and likely intend to throw down on Ruidus and fight Predathos (somehow). Nevertheless, we're about halfway through our three week wait for another episode and since we're on the verge of intense and emotionally-charged battles ahead there'll probably be little time for romantic activity - little does not mean none, mind you - during it. Last time we had a wait like this I did a post on some underrated Callowmoore moments from the Shard Incident episodes, but since others have already wonderfully dissected the recent Feywild episodes' romantic moments I'm afraid I don't have much else to add to that. I do, however, have a bunch of mental scenarios that didn't come to be, or have yet to come to be in different contexts to how I previously thought them up. So I thought; it's the new year, why not indulge the artists and fanfic writers who can do a better job than I can with it?

So if you like some of these things, treat it as a free prompt; draw, write, flourish however you see fit, and have a Happy New Year!

If you kept reading after that awesome, I was a little worried the main thing would be a tldr situation, and still could be I didn't expect the bullets to be as long...they were actually even longer at first so not sorry but also sorry? I guess. But anyway, we know what you're here for so let's go.

Note: The scenarios were devised to keep me from suffering crippling doubt and mental shutdown between episodes so mostly they'll be fluffy and comfort-oriented than angsty.

As mentioned before, Fearne pickpocketing the Ashton doll Laudna made to practice talking to Ashton, building up to it or luring Ashton over. Ashton's awareness of the pickpocketing can grow too or they could simply allow it from the get-go "I let her take whatever she wants."

Dancing, low-hanging fruit maybe but always good for chaos, awkwardness, wingman activity, and high energy, but I'm talking folk dancing like in Titanic not ballroom dancing, that's not their or the Feywild's style

"I'll be the judge of that." specifically for when Ashton feels they're unlovable or doesn't deserve to be loved. There's also "Then I guess I'm crazy." and "You've always deserved it."

Pickpocketing one another has been their game, but I can't deny that the thought of Ashton making something for Fearne was highly appealing too, I had them make a bracelet from melted down jewelry and gems they had on them (plus a compartment with an Oleander seed and some water from the Feywild in it), imperfectly made but sturdy and still pretty. Bonus for Ashton reverse pickpocketing it onto her.

"You've always been perfect to me" is another one I mentioned before, I usually have Ashton say it (and sometimes post-Fearne taking the shard reiterate that Fearne keeps becoming more perfect in their eyes) but it can go either way.

Sleeping beside each other's a common one. Not even sexually, often it's for comfort, soothing pain/nightmares or reassuring each other, and - if Fearne hasn't disappeared beforehand leaving Ashton waking up feeling a comforting presence missing - usually not wanting to get out of bed the following morning.

Similar to the above is short rests in close quarters, a specific one is Ashton using their primordial earth powers to pull up a discrete wall for the group to hide behind and rest a little, melding into the actual wall to offer a polymorphed Fearne (a small fire lizard usually, sticking on Orym and Ashton's heads) more space so she can rest too, albeit very snugly and pressed against them - easy opening for kisses under the jawline btw.

Metaphorical but Ashton's reassurance of "You could never hurt me" regarding Fearne's primordial fire was used a bit, plus it aligns with the recent "I'll take my fire damage now" when they hugged Fearne.

Fearne being open to Ashton about her fears of being the dark version of herself, bonus quote "I don't know that person, she's not you, never will be, you're better."

Fearne pulling the Uno Reverse "The shard hurt, but knowing you were there made it hurt much less." and/or "Thank you for saving me."

Also similar to the one above are conversations post-Fearne taking the shard exploring newfound empathy for each other's (albeit more extreme) positions at Whitestone; Fearne experiencing the intensity of the shard's fire, and Ashton experiencing the dread of seeing Fearne in pain from it and being afraid to lose her.

"Whatever happens, promise you'll come back to me" is a pertinent one for the current setting too.

What is that? 1, 2...12! One for each month, there's of course more, some are simple low-hanging fruit or more detailed (no seriously I trimmed a lot of these bullet points down in detail) but for the sake of length we'll stop here. Once again, Happy New Year my fellow Critters and Callowmoores!

Because there's a serious issue there. Baldur's Gate was founded over several hundred years ago. Mind Flayers live to maybe 200, and that's it.

Apparently, there's a huge conflict of lore as BG1 and BG2 depict Balduran as a human, but BG3 depicts him as an elf?

it started just as "me projecting on a character i happen to like" but i've grown increasingly fond of interpreting riko as transmasc (or really any form of trans who's unaware at this point in time). not in a "girl is rowdy? must really be Boy!" sense but rather in a "young trans person's life cut short on the cusp of grasping a better one for themself" sense

i just think there is something very transgender about riko, her (his for this post's sake) whole life convincing himself he's happy being treated as vaguely "special/different" and then. "Assimilated" - and i don't say this to deny riko's genuine feelings he shows about merging with tengen in the second episode, as i think they're more than just "what he tells himself to make himself feel better", but rather to express that while he's never questioned his lot in life, there's still more he's missing in ways of friends, community, and experiences, being only 14 after all, having his closest friend be his caregiver, having no strong feelings about the deaths of his family - and he only realizes this when he's granted all of that for only a few days.

being shown community and support by others and realizing, only when you have unconditional support and safety, there's more to life than assimilating and filling in the role you've been told you have to fill and have convinced yourself you want to fill. realizing you can be more. realizing you can make friends and have fun outside of the people you simply exist around. realizing you can thrive rather than just survive. realizing that the loneliness you feel needing to 'assimilate' isn't going to go away until you feel safe and loved enough to reject it entirely and start living the life you want to. yeah

i also just think (similarly to how i hc junpei as transfem) it's a tragic little show of "what could have been", for riko's life and all the opportunities and the person they could have been, regardless of gender, to be cut short.

tldr: i need to get off my ass and write the riko lives au where he transitions

im a little curious. In ur opinion how do u think femstars natsumes childhood went ? Was she made to dress up as a boy or was she maybe kind of "forced" to overperform femininity when she maybe was a little more tomboyish ? I feel like natsume's "odd" childhood is very important to his character so I was just wondering how you (or anyone else, but since u draw a lot of fem natsume i was wondering if u ever thought about it) would go about adapting it. anyways i love ur art!!! Its so cute i wanna eat it <33 i love women i love boys idk i just love anything u draw. Ur a big inspiration for me!! <3333

HMMM i guess itd kinda depend on how u wish to view femstars natsume!

for example, to some people femstars is just a way for them to draw their favorite characters as cute girls, and if u want natsume to be and present as a cute girl then itd make sense for her childhood to instead have her be dressed up as a boy! kinda reversing everything and having fun that way!

then theres the angle of using femstars as a way to explore femininity and gender expression as a whole. now, u can still have her dress as a boy during childhood and integrate that into her complicated relationship with gender, but i personally enjoy natsumes complex relationship with femininity specifically. so, while i havent thought about this in alot of detail, i personally enjoy viewing it as her character arc basically being ?? kind of the same as regular natsume ??? having an overly feminine childhood and such, and maybe she felt like a bit of a "damsel" and didnt feel like she was taken seriously due to her "being a girl" and "hyperfeminine," so, she begins to resent it a bit and is more Tomboy. maybe during her first and second year at yumenosaki she really leans into it too, but i do want her to gradually grow comfortable with her femininity. i like natsume in pink and cute outfits!! and id like for pink and cute things to sort of be a guilty pleasure for her!! she just doesnt wear it in public much bc she wants to look Cool, but maybe in her third/graduate years shes more comfortable dressing in varying ways.......

I really love how you write Magnifico! As someone who really likes this character, I find your opinions and headcanons very interesting! If you don't mind me asking, in your opinion why does he look for an apprentice when he is the only allowed to make magic?

first of all, catch me sobbing until the end of time— that's so sweet and it means the world (the universe, really) that you are enjoying my personal interpretation of this garbage disaster man T~T so many people in this community have such remarkable ideas about mags, and the fact that you appreciate mine??? i perish. thank you!!

as for your questions! c:

i raise you this: if mags is the one teaching someone magic, then he is in complete control over what they learn and how much they learn. yet again, this puts him in a position of power and influence; he gets to decide the... uhh "curriculum" here :/c of course, there's the risk of the apprentice getting too bold and doing a few things themselves, but with so many years of practice and expertise ahead of them, mags is pretty confident he could put an end to that quickly, should they go against his orders

as for why he even wants an apprentice: i hc that mags isn't able to sire children—it's basically the "sacrifice" in dedicating your life to magic (at least his particular study of magic where he was born without it and had to more or less make it a part of himself forcibly). he does want his legacy to go on, however (and wants someone in Rosas to continue granting wishes in his place!), so bringing in an apprentice is his means of doing so! plus, mags honestly has no interest in immortality (mother g.oth/el can keep that to herself), so when he eventually does need to pass the torch on to someone else, he wants a trusted person under his wing to be that someone. uvu

headcanon maybe?? when louise was younger she was probably violent and started fights and got sent to the principals office a lot and none of the teachers knew how to handle her but gene and tina always seemed to know what to do to get her to calm down and figure out what was going on so they would just get pulled from class bcuz 6 year old louise was trying to kill another kid or something LOL gene probably liked it bcuz it meant he could leave class and tina wanted to help louise, their relationship is sweet :)

Riho always joins or even is the one getting him to do her club’s bidding with the teachers - he gets snacks as a thanks.

3. Yamamoto once saw Kuroo and Riho talking to one another at school, and went through a weird succession of stages of grief (??) before asking Kuroo if 1. Riho was his girlfriend, 2. if Kuroo was trying to get her to be their manager (translation: please get her to be our manager, captain!). Kuroo quickly squashed all of his dreams, but decided to mess with him, and said he could give him her email address because he was quite sure she was looking at him at their last game. Yamamoto believed him - and never hated Kuroo more than when he finally mustered the courage to email her, only to realise that Kuroo had given him a fake number (that turned out to be that of an old lady somewhere in Osaka??). Kuroo never told Riho about this. 

4. Riho and Kuroo regularly have debates over which sport is better, volleyball or football. They know the answer is neither, and both, but they like to argue for the sake of it. It’s a question of honour and principle, you see. Their respective teams keep tabs of who makes good and stupid arguments on a whiteboard in their respective club rooms.  The score shall be settled when they graduate.
