i thought ZZZ was launching tomorrow night so. i absolutely did not put aside enough time to play it tonight orz... i started but i haven't gotten nearly far enough to actually review anything. despite that i persist. heres my thoughts for the first 3ish hours lol.
i find the combat. interesting. i think it has the potential to be really fun but i haven't really gotten to sink my teeth into it yet. not only because of time constraints but. the button layout is fucking with my muscle memory from like three different games and i cannot get it right to save my life. attack being x instead of b and dodge being y instead of rb is actually killing me. at least the ultimate button is where it should be so i'm not spamming it randomly.
i've done like. 3 cut scenes so i cannot speak to the overarching story much. i like the comedic vibe so far though. the opening scene with the reporter was pretty funny. i appreciate how they aren't just dumping world building on my head, just sorta letting me marinate in the world first.
environments looked really detailed and lovely but... i need to explore a little more. i need to know if we're getting little fun details like hsr. are there garbage cans for me to interact with. please. my inner trailblazer calls to me.
characters. again. just started. but i do like the sly hares or whatever they're called! billy is a silly goose, the girl is really funny as well. Nicole is cool. i like a stingy bitch lol. i'm really loving the mcs so far. i like their dynamic and their designs are really cute. i almost picked the female mc because i was worried about dialogue differences on the little date sections but... if i pick the guy and we don't get gender differences in the dialogue i can get some really yaoiful stuff and i can't risk missing out on that. plus hes cute. i REALLY love his eyes. the slightly lifted lower lid is a very unique and cute feature.
i think overall its interesting. the vibe is really cool and different from hoyos other games. but to be honest im not sure its for me? the modern techno fantasy thing IS cool, but it's not my favourite aesthetic. i think the arts good, but a little... plain? it doesn't really strike me as much as hoyos other products. that said it may be that they just look way better in motion. in cutscenes and stuff the charters look awesome but when they're standing still they seem a little dull. could be that i'm just used to the maximalist nature of their other games so a more restrained character reads as boring to me now...
there aren't really any designs that make me go ooohh yeah that right there is my WIFE!! and i'm not going to pretend that isn't my primary motivation for gacha games. so. we'll see how future characters turn out. everything just a bit more... cartoony i guess is the word? i dunno. nobody is really Hot with a capital H.
i'm getting off track since it's time for bed uh. one last thing. i feel very strongly i need to stop or minimize my time with others games especially in this launch period. i CAN technically keep playing everything i've got my hands on if i optimize the shit out of what i'm doing but. then i will be having absolutely no fun whatsoever and i need to avoid letting myself do that so. the current plan is
1) drop wuwa entirely for daily logins. i'm not sure i'm ready to quit quit but i don't really get much out of logging in right now so. i'll just stop and see if i miss it.
2) i'm gonna take a break from spending resin in genshin. i'm not even spending it on anything important lately and the battlepass is done so. i'm just going to stop doing it for a while. we're in the pre natlan slump so it's a good time to rest my genshin muscles.
3) as for hsr well. it's quick and we have auto lol. i'll just send my chars to grind for books since i'm literally out and it'll do both my resin and my dailies in one. truly do love this game
i know that SOUNDS a lot like optimizing and taking the fun out of everything but i swear its' not. optimizing would be finding a way to still be doing the dailies and resins for all 3 of those things plus whatever they have going on in pso. which is what i have been doing up til now. no more you hear me!! i may be the worlds biggest gacha apologist but even i can say you know what i've been indulging way to much lately i gotta cut back.
anyway. rant over, i'm going to bed. will continue my review tomorrow ^w^)/

A lonely valentine's
The day went as normally as any other day for me, but add a little more dread and sadness.
No it wasn't raining nor did I get hurt in a way, it was something else, something more upsetting than those...
Valentine's day....that was today.
All day, I saw love between couples and friends and family...mostly couples, I even saw some people propose to their partners.
Now I know what your gonna ask, 'oh!? Why don't you like valentine's day?', 'its because you don't have a partner yet, in time you'll love it.', 'you just haven't found the one yet.' and all that crap.
Well the answer I have is.... I don't know....I just never really liked it, even as a kid. I never brought candy for the other kids on this day and no one gave me any unless they did the whole class.
But after all day of hearing and seeing lovely dovey people, I finally get home and do somethings around my home.
Cooking, cleaning, dancing and singing, and some other random things until night falls.
I get into bed and think out loud.
" another day of love...for everyone but me..."
By the way, the name anth (AN-TH is how you say it), I go by he/him pronouns and as said before today was valentine's day, or....at least the end of it.
"just one more hour to go, and this stupid day is done. The only positive is the candy and chocolate will be on sale, so I know what I'll be getting tomorrow." I say as I look at my ceiling.
As I look at the ceiling I think back to when I was little and my brother telling me about stories of monsters under kids beds, I wonder if it's still a thing now even though I'm an adult... Let's see.
"hey demon or whatever under my bed...wanna be my first valentine? Even though we have under an hour to do so?" I say smiling, knowing that there's no way-
I heard something under my bed, then a hand with long black claws was now on the side of the bed and pure white eyes looking at me, just above those eyes was short black hair with sharp black horns, along with pointy ears instead of regular ears.
"r-really?" Said the demon(?) In a soft tone.
I look at him with wide eyes, he notices my surprise face and hides his lower face so only his eyes are seen above the side of the bed.
"oh...uhhh....I didn't mean too... How is this...?" I was quite confuse and didn't really believe this was happening.
'am I having a sleep paralysis attack or something...?'
I just kinda look at the demon and he seems concerned.
"was it not for me? Sorry.." he says as he starts to go back under the bed.
I crawl over and try to grab his hand, I somehow did and pulled him back a little to see me.
"I... I did mean it for you, I just thought that you weren't real or wouldn't answer. " I quickly say, pulling him onto my bed.
"oh....well...that's good to hear." He says quietly.
I put my lamb on so I could see him a little better. He was tall even when sitting and quite buff, with skin the color as the void, hair black as said already and glowing pure white eyes. Horns are big and the only clothing he had was a small cloth around his lower area, which I quickly looked away from before I got caught staring.
"I'm sorry if I scared you." He says running the back of his neck and looking away from me.
I smile a little and say " it's fine, you really didn't scare me. Just shocked me was all."
He looks back at me and does a small smile.
"do you still want me to be your valentine?" He asks, his face showing a bit of a darker tone around his cheeks like a blush.
I felt my cheeks heat up and nod my head a little.
"sure. What is your name by the way? My name is Anth." I ask flipping the blankets off me and getting up.
He gets up too, to follow me, " my name is Knot. Where are we going?"
"To the kitchen for a late night snack. What would you like?" I explain as I open the fridge door.
"Do you have chips and dip?" He asked.
I nod and give him the dip and go over to the cabinets to give him the chips.
"Would you like to watch something?" I say as I got my own snacks.
He nods and we both walk over to the couch and sit down. I turn on the TV and flip through the channels landing on a movie I've seen before.
"Is this show ok?" I ask eating some chips.
Knot nodded his head, and I made a 'hmm' noise. We sat watching the movie until we both fell asleep.
' I change my mind about valentine's day, it's decent. But I still like the day after better.'

can you do a phoenix fic where rooster helps set up phoenix and fem reader on a date bc he’s the readers bff🫶
now, yall know how i feel about wlw phoenix- i am sCREAMING ROLLING IN MY GRAVE RN AAAA aND WINGMAN ROOSTER FUCK I LOVE TO SEE IT
y/c/s - your callsign
honestly you couldn't tell half the time phoenix talked to you if she was flirting with you or not-
the things she said, the way she said them, and the look she gave you, it would stick in your mind like glue
especially after training, when you were walking back with your wso, phoenix would catch up to you (with bob and rooster not too far behind)
"hey, y/c/s! hot flying back there- that maneuver was great, you should teach me sometime" she says while winking
of course once again, you were a loss for words
"i- ah.."
so, this time, your wso, callsign stryker, stepped in
"yeah she'd love to show you sometime 'nix, let us know when!"
honestly you couldn't thank him enough for stepping in before he headed out
but before nat departed for the locker rooms, rooster caught up and threw an arm around you
"hey, you guys wanna come hang with me at the bar around 8? drink are on me~"
which instantly drew phoenix in
"hell, if you're buying i'm down! you, y/c/s?"
rooster just squeezes your shoulder and you nod slightly
"ah- yeah i'll be there, 'specially if roost here is offering!"
once he hears your confirmation he just slaps your back and runs off
"alright ladies y'all better not be late or deal's off!"
you and nat just laugh slightly and walk off to the locker room to get out of your flight gear and head home
once you hopped out of the shower, you had the problem of picking out an outfit, so you called rooster up for help
what possessed you to call him besides the fact he was your best friend was past you
he didn't have the best style as some would say (more namely, hangman)
but you needed a second opinion so he came as fast as he could
in about five minutes, rooster was flipping through your closet while you were sat cross legged on your bed in your underwear
course it wasn't weird for either of you two because you've been friends for years
anyways, the next second you feel a pair of jeans being tossed at your head along with a cropped white blouse
"alright get changed and change your bra to...this" he said while holding up a black lacy number
the way your eyes widened made him snort
"bradley come on- all the sudden you have fashion skills and you decide to use them like this on me?"
he just shakes his head and tosses the bra at your head
"that was so backhanded i'm almost hurt y/n-"
you just roll your eyes and pull the high waisted jeans on
"alright thank you- now get out and wait downstairs we're gonna be late"
honestly, checking yourself out in the mirror, you looked good
and you felt good too
you were ready, you joined rooster in his bronco and you two arrived at the hard deck with 10 minutes to spare
course as soon as you sat and rooster grabbed a couple beers for you both, phoenix arrives
and your jaw dropped
anyone could say the outfit nat was wearing was a bit plain, but she looked great in anything to you-
once she joined y'all at the table, grabbing a beer on rooster's tab in the process, the three of you caught up on whatever shit has been happening in your lives off base
about a couple minutes in, rooster excused himself while you and nat continued conversation
for once, you didn't feel so nervous around her
probably due to the alcohol you two were consuming-
eventually, the conversation slowed to a stop when you two realised that rooster had actually ditched you two
"that bastard actually left-"
"well its not all bad is it, nat?"
for once, phoenix was the one caught off guard and left blushing
"well, no, we've got free drinks all night and i'm on an unofficial date with you"
you just raise an eyebrow at this statement and lean in closer to her
"well, how about we go on an official date tomorrow after i give you that flight lesson hm?"
you don't know what possessed you to have so much confidence, but phoenix definitely enjoyed seeing you step up
"hm, i'd like that y/c/s"

—i miss you even when you're here—
pairing: bf!seungmin x fem!reader
genre: angst, fluff, established relationship
wc: ~2.7k
warnings: feeling of abandonment, loneliness, stress, insecurities
⇢ requested by @leihey ♡ i hope this lives up to your expectations!
summary: for seven days y/n has been feeling lonely as her boyfriend spends all his time either at work or thinking about work.
Tumblr media
You turn your alarm off without even looking at it, huffing before reaching your arm to the left side of the bed, and the way it lands straight out into the wrinkled sheets with a muffled sound confirms what you expected but still hoped wouldn't happen today - waking up alone.
For the past week Seungmin would get home late to a long asleep girlfriend at their shared bed, and a plate of cold food on the kitchen table. On the other hand, you would wake to an already empty bed and a faint memory of a forehead kiss, one you wondered if it were real or just a lucid dream.
For seven days you have spent your time either at work or alone at home, carefully thinking what meal would cheer up your boyfriend the most after a long stressful day at JYPE, missing the way he would always cut the onions because he knew you were more sensitive than him to the burning feeling in your eyes and would cry easily, missing how the kitchen always felt so small for the two of you to cook together, his hands constantly on your waist as a way to tell you to "scootch over", not wanting to interrupt his singing to tell you verbally.
For seven days you have been cooking alone, cooking for someone you didn't know would show up in time or not. And whenever he did - he didn't - being his presence merely physical, greeting kisses placed on your cheeks, lips and forehead in a mechanical way, a force of habit. For seven days your kitchen felt too big, too quiet and the onions made you cry more than usual.
At the eighth day you couldn't take it anymore, and when you heard the doorknob of your front door creaking, just as you were setting the table - for two -, you had to take three deep breaths, the words you had organized and planned out started to get mixed up in your brain, creating a mess you couldn't control anymore and so, as soon as you see Seungmin entering the kitchen you can only say three words, "I love you."
"I love you too, silly." he chuckles as his lips peck yours quickly, "Is that what you wanted to talk to me about so desperatly?", he waves his phone, referring to the text you sent him earlier. He didn't look annoyed at you for making him come home earlier than it was usual lately, but he still seemed off, and the bags under his eyes screamed "exhaustion" the same way the marks your tears left on your cheeks did too.
You watch him as he eats, unable to do so too yourself, the lump in your throat growing as you hear Seungmin's muffled voice thanking you for the meal with his mouth full and a light squeeze on your thigh. And you wondered if you were being unfair, if you were being selfish, because he was allowed to be stressed about his work, he was allowed to not be at his best all the time, and it wasn't his fault he had to stay until late at night at work. But it was his fault that he couldn't leave work when he got home, that he couldn't put his phone down and ask how your day was, to just take ten minutes of his day to just be with you, and you only. And you were allowed to miss him, miss his touch, miss the way he held you tightly at the end of the day while you watched the most random tv show together, because it wasn't the show that matter but each other's company.
And, without realizing it, you had already spilled all of this to him before the kitchen dropped dead silent again, and everything went blurry. You couldn't even see his face, not until his hands cupped your cheeks and his thumbs cleaned your tears as you mumbled quietly, "I'm sorry, I- I just miss you."
"But I'm right here (y/n)...", he pulls your chair closer until your knees touch, taking your hand in his while the other lifts your chin so your eyes meet, "Let's go on a date tomorrow, yeah? I'll get off earlier and pick you up. You'll wear that fancy outfit you've had in your wardrobe for ages, and I'll put on a nice suit and tie. What do you say?"
And in the eighth night you went to bed feeling a little warmer inside, his back turned to you didn't hurt as much now that your hand rested on his side and his shirt was worn by you. Knowing - hoping - that tomorrow will be better, you fall deep into dreamland as soon as you shut your eyes.
However, you couldn't help but to feel abandoned again when, hours later, a cold breeze hits your stomach and arms, making you mumble something in your sleep as you try to recover whatever was blocking that breeze before. One of your hands gets a grip of a soft fabric that seems too heavy to pull back down next to you, leaving your sleepy self whining for the owner of said fabric not to leave again.
"I will be back later, don't forget I'll pick you up for dinner. Go back to sleep now, (y/n)."
But how could you forget about dinner with him when, for the last eight days it was all you were longing for, and for the nineth day it was all you could think about?
Said day passed by slower than ever, an illusion caused by the clear anticipation you felt about the upcoming night. Anticipation addressed by your colleagues at work, who wondered what has sent your head into cloud 9 and your right leg into a fidgeting state, unable to stay still.
These same nervous actions continued at home, the funny feeling in your stomach resembling the very first date you had with Seungmin a few years ago, back when you were still a college student and he wasn't as busy as now. The same thoughts you had that day invading your restless mind again, "What if he doesn't like me (anymore)?", "What if he thinks I am (got) boring?", "What if my outfit doesn't fit?".
With that last thought you rush to your bedroom - but not without tripping on the first step of the staircase - to, in desperate clumsy movements, try out the said outfit you've been wanting to wear for so long, the one Seungmin got you for a "special date" months ago, one that never happened. But it did fit, it fitted better than ever and when you saw your reflection in the mirror even you fell in love with the person in front of you, the one doing little swirls with a stupid smile on her face, the person you doubted to be yourself. And, suddenly, you felt like everything would be alright, everything would go back to normal, maybe things would get even better than before, "there is no way he'll fall out of love for me when I look like this" was your first thought.
But he didn't even seem to notice your appearance, he didn't seem to notice you at all, he simply picked you up at the agreed time with a peck on your lips and one single rose in hand. All he did was drive you - in silence - to the fanciest restaurant in town, leave you alone at the table about three times to pick up the phone - "it's from work, I'm sorry" -, pay for both your meals and drive you back home.
And it took him to hear the quiet sobs you so hardly tried to keep in, while laying as far away as possible from him that you had to secure yourself from falling over the edge, to realize what he had been doing to you, to finally figure out how much he has been hurting you. And in that moment his sobs could be heard too. The realisation and guilt hit Seungmin like a truck and he couldn't move. He couldn't believe how he had let his stress and excessive work load affect you too. He couldn't believe he had reached a point to where he brought work home, one thing he had promised you he would never do. And his chest tights up a bit more when he realises you never got mad at him for breaking his promise, and breathing gets difficult when he faces you - your back.
"(Y/N)...", and your stomach drops five feet down at his cracked, low tone, and "I'm so sorry..." was all he could say before bursting into silent tears once more.
However, you were too hurt to face him, and the burn in your eyes increases when you feel the mattress sink behind you before a warm hand rests on your waist, but you don't push him away.
The nineth night was his the turning point, and Seungmin swore to your asleep self - and to himself - that the next morning would mark a new beginning.
And in the first morning you pretended to be asleep when his hand took a few strands of hair off your face, his lips barely touched your skin and his voice broke your heart, "see you later". And you held your breath until the bedroom door closed and stood still until the front door locked. But it took longer today, and in between these two moments you heard noise in the kitchen, and within a few minutes a nice smell made its way into your hiding place, as if it was trying to lure you to give in and face your boyfriend. But not even your grunting stomach stopped you from waiting to hear his car drive off to get up. And when you did, the curiosity took over you. He never cooks in the morning, and he never leaves this late. Something was changing after all.
Hence, in the first night, you shifted your body to face him when he quietly climbed in bed next to you, your left cheek pressed against your hands as a weak smile greeted the tired boy, "I appreciated the breakfast." Nevertheless, you didn't reach out to pinch his cheek the way you used to, though you had the urge to do so when his own lips drew a smile and his eyes got lost in his cheeks.
In the second morning you didn't pretend to be asleep and you didn't wait for the car to leave. In the second morning you sat at the kitchen table with Seungmin and, because he knew it would take you time to go back to him, he didn't force a conversation, he didn't force skinship, he merely held your hand and squeezed it lightly. And you knew he was trying, you knew he would try and wait until you were ready to trust him again, to give him your heart again.
Day by day you would slowly give him little pieces of you, by sharing the most small and insignificant stories of your day, by letting him hold your hand at night, by sharing earpods with him on the couch when you couldn't fall asleep, by letting him try and do all the things he shouldn't have stopped doing in the first place.
But it took you seven days and seven pieces to trust him with your heart again. Therefore, on the seventh day, as the the sunbeams peaked through the poorly closed shutters and reflected on Seungmin's bare shoulders, you couldn't help yourself from admiring him and, for the first time in seven days, you felt warm inside. The butterflies you used to feel the first times you woke up next to him were back, and were more annoying than ever.
You let yourself study all his features attentively, scanning all his perfect imperfections, letting yourself fall for him all over again - not that you think you ever fell out of love, but rather disconnected from it, and him.
He flinched and mumbled confused words, and you couldn't help but to smile and giggle softly at how silly your sleepy, drooling nonense-speaking boyfriend looked. This time, you gave in to the urge of pinching his cheek tenderly as to not wake him up, and you left your hand resting there as your thumb rubbed his soft skin.
As you were feeling your eyes becoming heavy again, your thumb stopped the movement and your hand slid down a bit. Your body relaxing more and more, until a ticklish feeling pulled you back to the "here and now", just to find Seungmin kissing the palm of your hand with his eyes still closed before pulling you closer to him, making you wince and giggle when his warm breath hit your ear and his raspy voice gave you his "good morning's".
He moved his body sloppily, hitting you with his elbow before comfortably positioning half of his body on top of yours, resting his head on the crook of your neck as he held you tightly by your waist, as if he were afraid you would run away.
"I missed you Seungmin, I missed you even when you were here." Your fingers got lost in his messy hair as you spoke, his grip on you grew tighter and you felt the tears peaking in the corner of your eyes. "You hurt me... and I thought about leaving you before you left me first."
For the first time you were letting him know how you truly felt, for the first time you were opening yourself up to him without any ounce of shame or fear. And this was your turning point. This was the moment you both knew you were back, ready to mend all the wrongs and the scattered pieces of your hearts that were left all around the house. "But everyone makes mistakes. And I know you have been trying, and-", Seungmin shifts his body once more, supporting himself with his hands as he is now hovering over you with his eyes locked in yours, a restless look in his face worried about what you would say next, and suddenly you feel shy, "What I mean to say is, I forgive you. I choose to stay and love you even if my mind won't let me believe that you love me back, I will trust you and your actions. So please don't let my mind trick me again, don't give it reasons to doubt your love for me unless you don't feel it anymore."
You pull his hair back waiting for a reaction, leaving your hand to rest behind his neck ready to pull him in for a kiss, the first real kiss in sixteen days. But you wait for what it feels to be an eternity, until he breaks the silence and mends the last piece of your heart when he reassures his love for you and vows to reassure you every single day until the rest of your lives.
And when you finally pull him in he loses balance and falls on top of you, his forehead hits your nose and just like that the house is filled up with laughter again, the onions don't make you cry anymore, the kitchen shrank and the fancy dates became late night movie marathons with you snuggled on Seungmin, or Seungmin snuggled on you, until you were far too tired to walk upstairs, leading to countless nights spent on the tiny couch and countless mornings with complaints about aching bodies but happy souls.

Peter Parker (any) x Reader: Sorry, Can't Sleep
Hey there. I'm flipping struggling as of late. The sleeping problems in this fic are really specific, sorry lol. Also, my mentor is on the same med as me for sleep! It was a great bonding moment 😬
Description: Reader has been struggling to sleep with nightmares (generic, not superhero-related).
Gender: neutral! No pronouns used!
WARNINGS: Sleeping problems, sleeping medications, nightmares
Tumblr media
*not my GIF*
You swallow the "this will help, I promise" pill for the millionth night in a row. At least it feels that way. And maybe it did work for like one night, but it's not working now.
You lay down and feel absolutely no more tired than you had twenty minutes ago when you took your melatonin.
Instinctually, you reach for your phone and pull it off the nightstand. You open the messages app, not entirely sure who you're going to talk to.
A message from Peter appears. He's not your boyfriend but he's definitely more than a friend. Both of you have a lot of shit going on in your heads and so you're taking it slow and keeping it private. It offers both of you peace of mind: Peter with bad guys and you with . . . life?
Anyway.
Peter: ok, tomorrow sounds great.
It is the end of a conversation. Probably meant to signify the way you both should be going to sleep now.
You: hey u awake?
Peter: yeah, u ok?
You: yeah, just can't sleep
You regret unloading your barrens onto him for just a second.
Peter: aw that sucks, what's wrong?
You: never really sleep well, nightmares have been really bad lately.
You figure to keep last night's nightmare to yourself. Typically, you dream about whatever but you are made of helium and keep flying around smacking into everything and getting hurt. Everyone laughs when you tell them that, but it's true and it's scary. Last night, the only difference was the Peter was there catching you with webs and dragging you back to the ground.
Peter: gimme 5 minutes
You: for what?
But of course he doesn't respond. You click your phone off and plug it in. You lay back down. You feel uncomfortable for the sheer reason that you know you'll be bored waiting for sleep and then the nightmares will grab you.
It's awful for you. And your mood is doing so much better, enough to keep a stable "romantic relationship," which is saying a lot considering your track record of breaking away when things start moving forward. So of course everything can't improve, your mind can't leave you be for one freaking day.
Suddenly, a tap on the window sends a shock through your drugged system. You're moving a bit slow with the sleeping meds despite not feeling any more tired. So when your brain finally snaps to, you move your blinds to take a peak out the window. Peter's face meets yours, a huge smile taking over his pretty brown eyes. The way he always smiles when he sees you.
Your heart flutters.
You open the window and he climbs in.
"Hey," he whispers
"What are you doing here? My parents are going to hear you!"
"Shh," he covers your mouth and pauses for a second. "I don't hear them moving around. They're not awake."
An inescapable smiles finds its way to your face. "So what are you doing here for real?"
"You said you were having nightmares?" He pauses and so you nod. "I'm here to help!"
You give a an unbelieving look. "How?"
He sits on the bed next to you, backing up and getting comfortable on the pillows. You just watch him. Then, he gestures for you to come into his embrace.
You do so slowly, definitely a tad bit skeptical of this advancement. But when you land safely in his arms, your anxiety shockingly fades away.
"Helping sweetheart?" He whispers into your ear, sending chills down your sound.
"Maybe" you barely mumble, blushing at the pet name.
"You can go to sleep. I'll be here to protect you from all the scary dreams."KK
You give him a look at his tone.
"What?"
"You don't have to make me feel like a child. I know it's weird I still get nightmares like this-"
"Sorry," he cuts you off. "I'm being serious, I'm sorry for making you feel that way. I promise I actually want to help."
You stare at the wall in front of you for a moment.
"Okay, you can try." You relax your eyes shut.
You feel Peter press a little kiss on the top of your head. Neither of you had initiated any kissing of any kind yet, but for some reason, you don't feel nervous at all.
In fact, you feel so relaxed that you fall asleep quickly.
~~~
You woke up to someone shaking your shoulder. You are frightened until you remember your lovely nighttime visitor.
"You were, like, kind of yelling and trashing around so I woke you up."
"Thanks." You smile. You have already forgotten the dream thanks to Peter as a distraction. "Sorry."
"Don't be sorry for anything. I want to help you with this. You should've told me sooner."
You shake your head. "It's okay, I'm used to it."
At that, he doesn't respond. He just tightly wraps his arms around you and you feel him rest his face against your head.
A few moments later and you are asleep again.
~~~
The next morning, Peter is gone. The spot he had occupied all night was still warm. The sun is barely coming up, he must have just left so he wouldn't get caught.
Then you realize: no nightmares. You didn't have nightmares for the rest of the night.

Hunt and Destroy
“Alright... A lot of new words and names...” You mutter, looking at the floor between your feet. It's late now, and Eleven has been talking for over an hour. The story is long and you had to stop her to ask a few questions. More than a few, actually. Everything sounds like a very strange story, the weirdest, something nobody could come up with. To prove it, Eleven turned the TV on with her mind, skipping through the channels before turning it off again. But you didn't need any proof. You know what you saw and it was very, very real. “Upside down, Demodog, Demodorden...”
“Demogorgon. With a G.” Dustin corrects you, smiling. How can he be smiling?
“Demogorgon, ok.” Nodding, you take a deep breath and stand up. “So... What's the plan?” You ask, pacing around the living room.
“Well, we need to gather the whole party for this,” Max says and the others nod.
“I'll talk to my mom and Hopper,” Jonathan speaks out. “We have to do this as soon as possible so... tomorrow.”
“Yeah. Can it be here?” You're not sure if you can make this demand, but right now, being anywhere else after dark is too much. The sunlight is your protection since it's deadly to the... Demo-something. It burns them. They like it cold, said Eleven.
“Sure.” Jonathan answers and you offer him a small smile in return. “Could it be by five? Before the sunset.”
“Yeah. We can sneak out of the pool again.” It shouldn't be a problem, and if Anthony is there, you could pretend to be sick.
“Tomorrow is our day off.” Billy reminds and you take a deep breath, running a hand through your hair. You completely forgot that.
“By the morning them. Maybe we'll get something figured out we can start working on through the rest of the day.” Mike suggests and the whole party agrees. “We should get going though. It's late.” Mike gets up from his spot on the floor.
“Wait.” Mike can't possibly be for real now. “You're not gonna head home now. With those things out there.” They're getting closer to the town, and it means they'll hang around all night. “It's dangerous. You should stay.”
Most of them agree easily, chattering among them. Max seems excited, but Mike exchanges a look with Nancy. “I don't think our mother would let us crash at Billy's place.” She says with an apologetic look.
“Oh.” You know why. Billy told you where he was going to when the Mind Flayer almost got him... Or better saying, who he was going to meet. Mrs. Wheeler. You did felt weird back then, and it sure makes you feel weird now, but whatever he did before, you left it where it belongs. In the past. “Just call and tell her you'll be crashing at my place.”
“Yeah, man. C'mon. Slumber party.” Dustin cheers, smiling, and once again you can't understand why they aren't terrified. Guess they're just used to it. But how can someone get used to monsters lurking around?
“Alright, then.” Mike agrees, making his way to the phone.
“They didn't get it yet,” Billy whispers in your ear.
“They didn't get it.” Repeating, you wrap your arms around his neck. “I'm really trying not to freak out right now.” The words come out of your mouth, rolling out your tongue.
“Let's go to the bedroom so you can rest and we can talk.”
“Ok...”
“Alright. It's done.” Mike comes back with his sister, gesturing at the front door. “Should we get going?”
You and Billy exchange a look. They really didn't get it. “Uhm... So that's it, guys.” You start, taking Billy's hand and pulling him with you. “You can crash either here or Max's room. First to wake up makes breakfast.”
“Wait. You made me lie to my mom?” Mike asks as you move further into the hall.
“(Y/N) is living here.” Max ends the mystery, and you can feel her massive eye roll.
“Holy shit.” You hear Dustin and Steve mumbling as you get inside the room.
Billy lets you shower first, and as you wait for him, you look through his college books. Everything seems very complicated. Your fingers run through one of the pages, taking in the many numbers, but not really reading anything. Your mind is too far away right now. The scene keeps playing back, over and over. The... Demodog, as the kids call it, its face opening up, the guttural noises it made. You wish it was just a nightmare, but everything seems very, very real.
Billy's sudden touch makes you suck in a sharp breath, shaking a little. “Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you.” The feeling is quickly replaced by the usual warmth he makes you feel. Safety and comfort.
“It's ok, I'm just... How is it possible that the kids seem to be so fine with it?” Turning around, you lay your head on his chest as he pulls you close.
“They've been through a lot. They know how to deal with it and you don't have to participate if you don't want to.” Billy touches your face, fingers caressing the soft skin of your jaw. “I'll do anything to keep you safe, you know that right?”
You do. But staying out would not only make you a coward, but it would mean one less person to help them do whatever they're planning to. And, whatever this thing is, it had a part in messing with Billy's life. With Max's life, and all her friends. It's kind of personal. And, if Billy is in danger, you want to be there to make sure you'll do anything to save him. “I want to do it. I just need time to... Process everything.”
“You won't be alone. And I'm not talking only for myself, but for everyone else too.”
“Ok.”
“Now come. You need to get some sleep.” Billy pulls you to the bed, and, instead of laying beside him as usual, you decide to crawl on top of him.
“Am I crushing you?” You ask as you lay your head on his chest, smiling to feel his strong arms around you.
“Haven't you noticed the weight I can lift? You're nothing compared to it.”
Closing your eyes, you feel as he places a kiss on the top of your head. You've never been like that with Billy, literally on top of him, and it's good. Today, more than ever, you need to feel safe. Protected. And he's the only one who makes you feel this way. “I'm so happy we don't have to go to work tomorrow.”
“Me too.”
Pulling yourself up, you move upwards until your face is close to his. “Do you think the kids are talking about us?” Despite your mind being apparently stuck reminiscing the same moment, the terror in your chest, you try to change the subject. Hopefully, it'll keep you from having nightmares tonight.
“I'm sure of it.” As he speaks, a noise of glass shattering reaches us. “Max!” Billy yells at the top of his lungs, startling you. “What the hell!”
“Stop yelling.” You giggle, playfully slapping his shoulder.
“Just a glass, Billy,” Maxine answers from somewhere in the house.
“Better clean this shit up!” He shouts again.
“Shut up!” You whine, lowering yourself on him a little. “Or else I'll have to make you and it won't be nice.”
Billy raises an eyebrow, that usual smirk making its way to his lips. “Oh, and how exactly wouldn't it be nice?”
Yeah, you didn't really give much thought before making the threat. “Okay then.” Smirking, you close the distance between you until your lips are brushing on his before you sit up abruptly, a hand covering his mouth. “See? I told you it wouldn't be nice.” He opens his mouth under your hand, and you feel his teeth biting your skin. “Billy!” You complain, taking your hand away from his mouth. “I can't believe you bit me, you jerk.”
“You got what you deserved.” He suddenly pulls you down, making you lay next to him. “Now, quit playing around and sleep, princess. Tomorrow will be a long day.”
“Kiss me goodnight then. To keep the bad dreams away.” You ask him softly, melting into the slow, warm kiss he gives you.
It doesn't help with the nightmares though. Twice that night you wake up, a breath caught in your throat. You struggle not to let Billy notice, snuggling closer to him.
You're more than happy when morning finally comes. The house is so damn loud, and breakfast in a mess. You like it though, the craziness distracting you from yesterday's events. The rest of the party is here by nine, thanks to the urgency of the matter. And then, after everyone is fed up and the dishes are clean, which took half an hour since nobody wanted to do it, everyone sits in the living room to talk.
And you just can't seem to keep up with it. The boys speak fast, Hopper yells, Joyce tries to calm him down, he argues with Eleven, which is like his daughter, you got that, and then he argues with Mike. Nancy and Jonathan always check with each other before saying something, Steve always finds the flaws on the kids' plans, pointing out the many ways it could go wrong, and Dustin often gets into some kind of argument with him. There are a hundred different ways things could go wrong. A thousand ways you could die. Running a hand through your hair, you hold onto Billy's biceps, laying your head on his shoulder. You're the only one who didn't say anything since the conversation started. There's just nothing you can help them with, you'll just stick up to whatever plan they have.
What they know for sure that these Demodogs are here because some of them must have been left behind in some kind of incubation period until it started growing again.
“So that's it. Hunt and destroy.” Lucas says, nodding to himself.
“Yes. We don't know exactly how much time we have until they start going full Demogorgon, so we should start acting now.” Mike states. “Immediately.”
As if something was lit up, everyone starts moving. “My place in one hour, everyone,” Hopper says and suddenly the crowd disperses, the house once again silent.
You're still in the same place you were, on the couch, legs crossed, eyes on the floor. “Hey. You ok?”
“Yeah.” Taking a deep breath, you stand up. “So. Hopper's place. One hour.” Saying this more to yourself than to him, you get up and pace around the living room. “Should we take the baseball bat?”
“Steve has one far more fun than that. You'll like it.” You can tell Billy is keeping his voice nice and soft, trying not to push you over the edge with everything that's going on. “(Y/N), you don't have to go. You know that, right?”
“I do. But I'm going anyway.” Walking over him, you tiptoe to place a kiss on his lips. “Those kids are so brave. I don't want them to think I'm the weak link.”
“Alright, but we stick together. No exceptions.”
“I agree.” It does make you feel a lot better.
In the next hour, you and Billy shower and get ready. You make sure to wear short jeans and a light shirt so you won't feel too hot. The plan is trying to find the Demodog's nest. This part has to be made during the daylight, to make sure no attacks will happen, so you have no choice but to walk around the woods under the sun. Billy makes sure to shove a lot of water on his backpack, using literally every bottle he found in the house. And Max gathers some snacks for the day.
You reach Hopper's place at the same time Nancy, Jonathan, and Mike does, realizing it's also Joyce's place. The party is gathered in front of the house, a big map of Hawking on the ground. Beside it, a pile of some random stuff that you guess will be the... Weapons you'll use. Just in case.
Hopper is the one to assign everyone a place to start, the area they'll have to cover, and where they'll have to stop. There are lines drawn over the map, and you hope Billy has everything memorized because you don't even know where is where. Then, the groups are separated. Billy of course says he'll take you and Max. And Lucas, much to his dismay, will come along too. When people start taking stuff from the pile, you immediately get what Billy mentioned earlier. There's a baseball bat with nails on the top. Smiling, you take it.
“That's so badass.” You mutter, looking at Billy. “This will be my weapon of choice.”
“Hey. That's mine.” Steve exclaims, reaching out his hand.
“Not anymore, buddy.” You sass at him, swinging the bar and hitting the air.
“But–”
“She's good with the bat, trust me,” Maxine says and you nod. Some people have an interrogation on their faces, and Steve keeps staring at the three of you, as if waiting for further explanation.
“We have an inside joke.” Lowering the bat, you turn to look at Billy.
“Restricted to the Hargrove family,” Billy states, taking one the radios from the pile and starting the make his way to the car. “And Max.”
“But what about me?” You feel a little set aside by his affirmation, wondering what he meant. It's impossible that he's ignoring the fact that you were there that day. “I'm in the joke too.” Whining a little on purpose, you follow him.
“You still only notice half of things.” Billy winks at you as he gets inside the car, and after Max and Lucas get in the back seat, you get in as well. “I know you know what I meant.”
“Maybe I didn't.” Billy has this way with you. You were expecting the first sensations to fade, but they didn't. He still makes you nervous, the butterflies on your stomach doesn't seem to grow immune to him. And part of you is still scared of the things you think he means. You did got what he said, but it's safer to just pretend you didn't, right?
The short drive is filled with chattering. The kind of chattering you didn't want to hear since it's all about the Demothings. You stop by the woods, and Max and Lucas will be the ones responsible for the map since they have a compass.
And so the ‘hunting’ starts. You're glad it's not a real hunt though. You remember when you invited Billy for a trail with your friends, but walking through the woods feels different now. Before, you had only the normal wild animals to worry about, not some monsters that came out of the gates of hell. But you try to keep in mind that the sunlight means protection, so you'll safe. For now.
“Billy, can you make sure we'll have enough daylight to make the way back to the car?” You ask him, putting your hair up on a ponytail.
“I will, don't worry.” He moves closer, taking your hand in his. “We'll be ok. Just focus on trying to find anything unusual in the woods.”
“Sure.”
Billy doesn't let go of your hand until you stop to eat something. Lucas and Max start arguing a lot when you resume your walking, complaining about the directions. Billy is clearly pissed, not very fond of the idea of his little sister dating. It's cute the way he keeps staring at the young couple, paying attention to whatever they're saying. You wonder if Billy ever thought about having kids.
Wait. What the hell? Step back, you tell yourself. Too soon for that.
At some point, a fresh breeze starts blowing, and you couldn't be more thankful for it. Letting your hair down, you run a hand through it out of nervousness.
“I'm telling you, we have to go West now,” Lucas says.
“Yes. First West then North.” Maxine takes the map from his hands, taking a look at it. “It's obvious if you think about it. Just look. Try using your head for a moment.”
“Are you calling me dumb?”
“Yes!”
“Alright, both of you.” Billy intervenes, his voice with a tiny hint of anger. “Will you two make a goddman decision or will I have to?”
This will be interesting. Billy and you have been walking a couple of feet behind them, so as he moves ahead, you stand there, crossing your arms. The breeze brings a soft sound, that looks like the sound the pools make when it's windy. Following it, you spot water, only about ten feet away. Leaving the guys behind to their fights, you make your way there, making sure there are no big trees hiding you from their sight. When you get there, you bend down, putting one hand on the freshwater.
“(Y/N)!” It's Billy's usual yell, the one he always uses to scare the shit out of you. “Do you want to give me a heart attack?” When you turn around to look at him, he's already close by, Maxine and Lucas coming right after.
“Sorry, but I found this lake.”
“Lover's lake,” Max says, sitting down on a rock, eyes on the map.
“Lover's lake?” You repeat, crossing your arms and looking at Billy. “Why haven't you ever brought me here?” By the name, you think it would be a nice romantic date. And you remember by what you saw on the map, the lake is shaped like a heart, the reason for the name.
“Oh, you're new here. Sometimes it slips my mind.” He puts he bag down, safely away from where the small ripples reach. “People usually come here to... You know. So I thought that if I brought you and then you found out what really happens here you'd come to the wrong conclusion about my feelings for you.”
That's a very good explanation. And it makes you feel... Special. Different. “Thank you, then. For... Having this in mind.” As you speak, you take off your white shoes, all dusted by now.
“What are you doing?” He asks, an eyebrow raised when you look up at him, using his arm for balance to take off the other shoe.
“I'm using the Lover's Lake to something else than making out.” You start walking backwards, into the water.
“Whoa, look at what (Y/N)'s doing,” Lucas says, and you give them a glance. Max giggles, putting the map down.
“Try to drown Billy, would you?”
“I'll do my best.” When you stare back at Billy, he's already in the water.
You move back until your feet stop touching the bottom, so you start swimming further away. The freshwater is a blessing, washing the hot day from your skin. For a moment, you decide to leave the worries behind, just for a couple of minutes. Billy is quick to reach you, and you're suddenly aware of the kids staring. “We have an audience, keep that in mind.” You tell him when he pulls you close, strong arms encircling your waist.
“Were you ever kissed underwater?”
“No.” Your smirk matches his as you take a deep breath and push yourself down.
The kiss is a mess. You have to focus on holding your breath through the process, what makes you laugh, throwing bubbles on Billy's face. You manage to reach the bottom, your back hitting the rocks as Billy floats on top of you. But eventually, the oxygen you were saving is over, so you push him away and swim back up, laughing when you reach the surface.
“What a chaos.” You burst out when he comes back up as well. “We suck at underwater kisses.”
“I think I swallowed some water,” Billy says, coughing a little.
It only makes you laugh harder, removing the hair glued to your face. Swimming closer to him, you wrap your arms around his neck.
“Hey! Mr. and Mrs. Hargrove! Let's get moving!” Lucas shouts, making you roll your eyes.
You burst into laugh again when Billy flings you over his back, carrying you back to land.
And the walking restarts, with Max and Lucas constantly arguing and Billy trying to make them stop. The good thing is that it distracts you. And the bad part is that it distracts you from searching around for any signs of a Demothing nest. Your eyes scan through the woods, among the trees, looking for–.
“Holy shit!” Lucas exclaims and then he jolts away, running, followed by Max. You and Billy exchange a look before rushing after them.
Before you can ask what was that, you see it. A huge hole on the solid ground. It would fit a car in it. The thing goes down, in a slope, and then it keeps going until it makes a turn left. It's clear it doesn't belong to any kind of wild animal. It's not natural. A low, guttural low snarl reaches your ears, and you involuntary gives step back.
“Call them. Them then we found it.” Lucas says, taking a pencil and making a mark on the map.
The moment Max takes the small radio, you hear static. “Everyone listen up.” Steve says, more voices talking behind him. “We found it. A freaking hole in the ground. It has to be–”
“That's it.” Eleven's voice cuts him off. “We found it too.”
It was supposed to be just one.
“What?” Steve asks.
“Head back now. Everyone.” Hopper says and Max turns the radio off.
This is far worse than you thought.

A/N: I have one more Bakugou fic after this cuz if it’s not apparent enough I’m a baku simp, but after that I have one shinsou and todoroki ask so bear with me and my simping a lil longer pls, what else, uhhh, enjoy!
Tumblr media
Synopsis: you want to learn to ride a motorcycle and Bakugou is the only one that can teach you. And if you thought convincing him to teach you was hard, you'll see it's worse when he's actually teaching you.
Tumblr media
"I want to learn how to ride a motorcycle." These were the words that caused everyone in the room to stop whatever they were doing and stare at you.
"What?" You asked, feeling uneasy under the stern gazes of your friends. "Why is everyone staring at me?"
"We're just waiting for you to tell us it was a joke," Mina answered your question, chuckling awkwardly as the girls shook their heads in unison. You gasped dramatically, shocked at how little they trusted you. "I'm not joking, I'm serious!"
This led to another awkward silence, and it was Mina, once again, who broke the silence. You were hoping for at least a few encouraging sentences -something along the lines of you go girl!- but rolled your eyes at her when she said, "Sweetie, are you sure?"
"Oh my God!" You groaned. "Of course I'm sure. Why isn't anyone supporting me?" You looked at your friends expectedly, but their expression didn't change.
"Oh, it's not that we're not supporting you- we're just worried and don't think... You should be doing it." Momo said with a cute smile, probably hoping you to smile back and drop the subject, but you pouted. "Momo, that's exactly what not supporting means."
"Y/N, you know we love you and will support you at everything,” Ochako stated, but before you could even smile she added, “but, we're concerned. You know you're kind of... a little too clumsy.” Girls nodded as she carried on. “Actually, you're the clumsiest person I know!" She had one of her pretty, cute smiles on her face as she said the last sentence, and you almost wanted to laugh at how her upbeat attitude while calling you clumsy made an interesting contrast.
You scoffed. "Oh, come on. I'm not that clumsy."
"Oh, but you are." Mina stated, "you're not only clumsy, but you're also really... How do I say this-" she snapped her fingers as she remembered the word she was looking for, "unfocused, and you literally have no idea whats your left or right is." She muttered the last sentence and the girls giggled.
"What?!" Your face scrunched with confusion and at the insult you didn't even understand. "What does that even mean?" Yeah, what did that mean? Yeah, you did daydream quite a lot, and zoned out almost constantly, a little too much to tell the truth too, and though you did know your lef and right, you kinda did just mix them once in a while-
"Ooh." You said, understanding why they were so worried, and what they meant. You had to give them credit, you riding a motorcycle wasn't safe...  But still. You wanted to learn, and nothing could make you go back from your decision.
"Yeah, I see your point, but still. I want to do this, and I'll ask Kiri to teach me. I know he rides a motorcycle, and he's pretty good at it too! I'm pretty sure he can deal with my- whatever it is I have."
Your friends shot you a worried look, but they were familiar with your stubborn personality and knew you would do whatever it takes to learn it.
You stood up to find Kirishima as you rehearsed your speech in your mind. You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't even realize the door was closed, and you walked right into it. "Oh, fuck." You mumbled under your breath, trying to ignore your friend's giggles.
As you walked out of the room, you kind of understood what unfocused meant.
~~~
"Kirishima, please!" You whined, you felt a weird urge to stump your feet on the floor like a little kid but kept yourself from doing so.
"I'm sorry Y/N, but I haven't been riding it long enough to teach anyone. Especially not you."
You gasped in an (overly exaggerated) shocked way. "Shoot me, it'll surely hurt less." You were trying to make him feel a little guilty, but you knew he was right. "I'm sorry, I really am!” He said, feeling bad when you looked at him like he just slapped you. “But uhh, you could try your chance with Baku? He was the one who taught me too, after all."
"Yeah, like Bakugou's ever gonna accept to teach me. Not even you would teach me, one of the nicest guys I know, let alone him!"
"Eh," he said with a toothy grin, you saw his cheeks reddening ever so slightly. "Shoot your shot. Maybe if you catch him in a good mood, you can convince him."
You pouted. Did Bakugou even have a good mood? Well, he did actually, but only when he beat the shit out of Izuku in training lessons. Other than that, he rarely even smiled.
"Yeah, I guess I'm gonna ask him. Thanks for your help, though." You said, half sarcastically but he didn't catch it. "Yeah, no problem!"
You exhaled the breath you didn't even realize you were holding. You weren't only hesitant because of, well, Bakugou being himself, but also because you had the biggest crush on him.
It was weird, really. You hated that you had a crush on Bakugou, and by doing so, you hated him too, but even that didn't prevent you from having a crush on him.
But you knew how he was the worst type of person to have a crush on, and you also knew he didn't even like you the slightest, the moment you met. So you decided it was the best to stay as far as you could from him and acted like you weren't, well, amazed by him.
He didn't make it hard either, and you didn't even know why you liked him so damn much. But you did, you were just thanking God Bakugou was such an insufferable person, so it was easy to hide your feelings as you could act like you couldn't stand him.
You realized you were in front of his dorm room, and you panicked since you didn't even plan what you were going to say, but you thought it would be better to just go with the flow this time. You gathered up your courage and knocked on the door. When the door opened, you thought you were going to go deaf from how loud your hard was beating. The door opened, and your gaze met the crimson eyes. You opened your mouth to say something as a little smile tugged on your lips-
The door shut in your face.
"Who was it?" You heard Denki's voice from the other side of the door. Bakugo tch'd as he answered, "Some extra I don't have time for." You couldn't say that didn't hurt, but you proceeded anyway. "Hey Denki, it's me, (Y/N)!"
You heard some shuffling voices coming from the room as you heard Bakugou's harsh voice. "If you open the God damn door, I'll blast you in-" The door opened as you saw Denki, the biggest smile on his face. "(Y/N)! Just the person I wanted to see."
He pulled you in a tight hug and hugged you even tighter when you tried to get away from him. "Get a fucking room. I don't care which one, but just stay away from mine." He mumbled as Denki snorted.  It was obvious they were studying, and you felt bad for interrupting it.
"Bakugou, you don't have to be jealous." His eyes widened as he growled frighteningly. "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU-"
"Anyways, why are you here?" Denki asked to you, ignoring the fuming guy behind him. You were sure ignoring Bakugou was not the right thing to do, but you went along with it. "Oh, I just have to ask Bakugou a... Favor." You eyed him for a second. Was he in a good mood? You didn't even notice Denki exiting the room, leaving you two alone.
"What the fuck do you want?"
Probably not. But no going back now, you told yourself.
"I- I, have a favor to ask you." You said without meeting his gaze.
"No." One word made your head snap up, your eyes looking at his, now almost as angry as him. "What?! You didn't even hear what I have to say!"
He shrugged. "I said no. I don't do favors, nor do I have time for you, or whatever it is you want." He leaned up and was about to exit his room, but you gathered your courage, the words leaving your mouth almost in an angry tone. "I want to learn how to ride a motorcycle!"
His legs froze in their place as his body turned to you, his red eyes now angrier than ever. You didn't know why he was angry, but again, he was always angry. "You wanna what now?"
"I want to learn to ride a motorcycle." You said, this time a little calmer. "No." The word found its way out of his mouth once again.
"Oh my God, Bakugou, can't you at least think about it?" You stood up, now facing him. His shoulders so broad, muscles so defined, his face so- no, no, no, you had to concentrate.
"I thought about it, and my answer is no. What even made you think I would teach you?" Well, you had to give him credit, it was near impossible to convince him to do anything for anyone, but for desperate situations, you had to take desperate measures.
"Bakugou-" you said, your anger had disappeared, leaving it's place to sadness, desperation, and humiliation. His eyes a little surprised to see you so calm all of a sudden, you bit your lip as you forced yourself to beg him."Please... Please teach me, because no one else can! I- I'm begging-"
"Shut up." He said without letting you finish your sentence, and you couldn't help but feel relieved, you couldn't bear the thought of literally begging him, and once did his anger help you.
"Why would I do it? What could you offer me back?"
Now that was something that didn't even cross your mind, well on your defense, you didn't even think you would come this far! So you acted without thinking.
"Anything you want!" You realized your mistake almost the second you said the words, but you couldn't go back now. The smirk on his face made you feel uneasy.
"Now that's a deal." He said, his smirk still lingering on his face. "Come here tomorrow at 5 pm. One minute late and the deal is off."
"And Bakugou?" You said a little nervously. "What do you want back?"
This time his smirk made you feel straight-up terrified. "I'll hold on to it for a while, I'll let you know when I decide what I want."
Damn, this was a bad idea, wasn't it? He wasn't a predictable person, and now you gave him this power, the kind of power you would feel afraid giving to anyone, let alone to Bakugou. He knew you, knew how much you valued promises, knew you would go drastic measures to hold a promise you made. So now he could even make you murder Midoriya, though you doubted it, you were sure he would rather kill the green-haired boy with his own bare hands. But still, he could make you do anything.
***
"You know you're the last person on earth that should be learning how to ride a motorcycle." He said as he looked at you angrily. "If you continue to zone out like that, I'm not letting you get on the motorcycle."
For the last 30 minutes or so, he was talking about each part of the motorcycle, and it was only normal for you to zone out, he was your crush for God's sake, and this was all so boring. "Okay, I'm sorry. Can we just... Ride it now? I'm sure I'll understand it better while I'm on it."
"What kind of stupid logic is that?" He said but stood up nevertheless. Your eyebrows furrowed when he sat on the bike and turned the engine. "What are you doing?"
"Did you think I would let you get on it alone? You're sitting behind my back first." That sentence shouldn't have made your heart beat faster, your cheeks redder, but it did anyway.
You sat on the engine, the motor roaring under you, making you feel excited, the caramel and spicy smell coming from the man in front of you taking your breath away, making you imagine things you shouldn't. Your hands rested shyly on his shoulders, his spiky hair, surprisingly soft, touching your hand.
"Hold on to me like that, and you'll be on the ground the second we leave." He said, and you had to bring your head closer to him to hear what he said, your lips almost touching his cheeks. When you didn't move, he rolled his eyes and wrapped your arms to his waist, making your heart beat even faster. You could feel his abs underneath your hands, which made your cheeks burn, and you were so grateful he couldn't see you right now.
Without even telling you he started the engine, you almost slid on the asphalt, which made your hands grip him tighter, your whole body leaning on his. "There's nothing to be afraid, dumbass." He said, feeling your tight grip.
It took you a few seconds to get used to it. It was an incredible feeling to go this fast, feeling the wind and smelling everything around you. You still tightened your grip on him every time he took a turn, but he was riding it so smoothly, you felt... Safe.
You always felt safe around him, anyway.
Without even realizing what you were doing, you leaned your chin on his shoulder, his hair tickling your face, the smell of caramel making you dizzy and you tried to etch this moment in your mind, knowing you probably won't get a chance to be this close to him ever again.
When the engine died beneath your legs, you felt a bit sad because it ended but smiled nevertheless. "That was amazing."
His chest puffed with pride, and a smirk found its place on his face. "What'd you expect?"
"Death, if we're being honest here." You said, which made his eyes narrow.
"So, my turn?"
***
“I said left!” He screamed. “This is the third fucking time you mixed your left and right! How can you even do that?” He had screamed so much, you were worried about his voice. “I just mix them, okay?!” You answered, making him even angrier.
Having Bakugou as a teacher was hard. But then again, having you as a student was probably harder.
Everyone who told you that you weren't focused enough was right. You did zone out a lot, even -and especially- while riding, which ended with you almost dying more than you could count. But Bakugou could count, and boy was he pissed.
Once when you took the sharpest turn because you zoned out and almost tossed in the wall, you knew Bakugou was going to kill you, if you didn't kill yourself first, of course. Apparently, he was thinking the same thing.
"Oi! If you have a death wish, tell it to me beforehand, and I will do it for you!" He practically screamed, his red eyes now bright with anger resembling flames.
"I'm sorry I just-"
"Don't fucking apologize! Focus!" But how could you focus when he was this close to you, looking deep in your eyes and damn did he smell good. "Yeah, sorry." You mumbled.
"One more time and I'm done with this shit." He threatened before getting away from you. "Yes, sir!" You joked, but he rolled his eyes, probably begging God to save him from you. "Look, while taking turns, use your lower half. You have to bend your hip the way you're turning so it will turn smoothly."
His eyes may have lingered on your hip a little longer than necessary.
A few hours full of almost- deaths and heart attacks past, and both of you were tired. The sun was setting, and you felt hungry, you were pretty sure he was also starving.
"So um, thanks for today. I'm kind of tired, but would you like to eat or something? There's a noodle place close enough and-"
"No." Ugh, he loved that word, didn't he?
He wore his helmet, getting ready to go back to the dorms. When you were in front of him he put your helmet on your head, his touch surprisingly soft and light.
"Thanks."
"Shut it." A long, awkward silence lingered in the air as he sat on the motorcycle. "Now, where's this noodle place?"
You couldn't hold your smile in.
~~~
It was a smooth ride, you noticed how his hips moved every time he took a turn, his body moving as if he was a part of the engine. The setting sun painted everything in red and orange tones, and it was so pretty that it took your breath away.
When you were in front of the noodle place you climbed off the motorcycle, but your legs were so shaky you couldn't find your balance and would have fallen on your knees if Bakugou hadn't hold you.
"Tch, can't even stand on your legs?"
You stuck your tongue out, acting like a child, but you didn't care. You were just happy he tagged along with you to eat.
You found a booth, he was sitting across you with a look on his face you couldn't quite understand but chose not to say anything. The whole meal he was so quiet it made you worry a little, at the very least, he was the loudest person you knew and him staying so quiet for such a long time was against his character.
When you both finished your meals and got ready to go back to your dorms, the silence went on, but you just couldn't bring yourself to ask that one question that was occupying your mind. Are we going to do this again? It wouldn't be a shock if he called quits after today.
It was only until you came back to the dorms he broke the silence. It was such a stressful ride for you that you couldn't even enjoy the chilly night and the caramel scent coming from him.
He looked at you as he shook his motorcycle gears off of him. "The noodles were okay, I guess."
Your eyes widened as a giggle bubbled in your chest. So that was what he wanted to say first? You couldn't help but snort, earning a glare from him. "What the fuck is so funny?!" His anger seemed to fuel your laughs even more since you felt like your tummy was going to explode from laughing so hard. "I'm sorry- It's just..." You couldn't even talk and he finally tch'd. "Whatever, just shut up already."
"Okay,” you said, breathing deeply, “I'm good now." He didn’t say anything so you felt obligated to break the silence. "So, thanks for today- for everything. For actually bearing me and taking me as a pupil takes the first place, though." You said jokingly, and he rolled his eyes. "You're not that bad of a student I guess." You gasped as an answer to that. "The Bakugou Katsuki complimenting me? I must've died sometime today."
He rolled his eyes once again -either he had a serious eye problem you didn't know of, or he just couldn't stand you- but this seemed like it was his 100th time today. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don't get used to it, dumbass. You won't be hearing any more of them the other lessons."
"Wh- What do you mean by the other lessons?" With this, his crimson eyes snapped up, looking at you with an unreadable expression. "Are you that dumb that you thought one lesson was enough? Or is it that you can't stand me so much that you would rather not ride a motorbike?" He tried to hide his hurt by looking mad, but you saw it either way.
"No! I would love you to teach me more! I just thought you would've just given up after... today. I know I'm not a good student, and you don't have time for- what was it again?" You snapped your fingers. "Extras."
He ignored your remark, he was looking at your face like he was searching for something but looked away when he saw you looking at him too. "I don't do anything half-assed. Even if you're a bad fucking student, if I told you I'll teach you, I'll fucking teach you."
That was an odd way to motivate someone, you thought, but it worked anyway. So you smiled at him and went back to your dorm, without even realizing the effect your smile had left on the angry boy.
***
You had to admit, it was a long week. Meeting with Bakugou every day after school, learning a new skill was harder than you had thought, but you secretly wished for it to never end, either.
"Can you focus for like three seconds?" An angry voice fumed behind you. "What are you thinking about anyway? This much dreaming is not healthy, you know." You decided that telling him that you were thinking about him wasn't a good idea, so you just smiled. He had brought water for the two of you, and you accepted it gladly. You hadn't even realized how late it was until then.
The sky was a dark purple, the stars were shining brighter than ever. When Bakugou saw you looking at the sky, he scoffed. "It's getting late, wanna go back?" You shrugged, though you didn't want to go back the slightest. When you didn't say anything, he opened his water bottle.
You couldn't stop yourself from watching him drink the water -rather aggressively, too- how his adam's apple moved, his eyes fluttering with the feeling of the cold liquid going down his throat. You gulped at the sight, feeling your cheeks warming, and you drank the cold water in one go, to at least get rid of the warm feeling that was growing in your chest.
You were so focused on the task of figuring out what the hell was this tingling sensation that went through your body every time he touched you, or why your heart beat faster he smiled so subtly, you didn't even realize Bakugou was watching you too, thinking the same thing as you.
Bakugou crushed the plastic water bottle in his hand, making you flinch with the sound, and once again focus your eyes on him. You didn't understand why he was angry now, but you stopped trying to do so after the first day. You were about to ask him what was wrong but stopped when you heard Kaminari's voice.
He had a cheeky grin on his face as he walked towards you. "Hey, Y/n!" You smiled back, relief washing over you. "Hey, Denki! What's up?"
He shrugged. "Nothing, kinda missed you this past week, and when I saw you guys here, wanted to come and say hi." You could feel Bakugou getting angrier with every passing second, but you decided not to notice. "Oh, I missed you too." You answered when you heard Bakugou scoff, which caused Denki to giggle. "I guess I'll see you at the dorms tonight, it's getting late, though." He said as he started to walk away.
You shrugged, staying up late with Denki was what caused you to have a non-existing sleep schedule. "Sure." You answered before turning your back at him and facing the now angrier than ever Bakugou. "So, you and Dunce face, huh? You guys a thing?"
It took you a second or two to understand what he meant, but when you did, your eyes widened, cheeks now beat red. "Oh, fuck no!" You exclaimed without thinking. His eyes widened at the curse that found it's way out of your mouth, and you thought this couldn't get any worse. "I- I mean, I love Denki, just not that way- and I got surprised when you..."
You stopped talking when you saw a smile on his face, which grew and grew until it was a full-on laugh. It was the weirdest thing, hearing Bakugou laugh. But as you watched him -in awe- as he laughed, you couldn't stop yourself from thinking that he should laugh more. It just suited him so much, how his body bent forward a little as he laughed, his eyes narrowing and almost hiding the bright red orbs.
"That was the best fucking thing ever." He said after he calmed a little. You had started to laugh with him too, though you didn't think anything was funny, you just couldn't help yourself from laughing when he laughed.
His eyes found yours, and you shared a look that lasted longer than it was supposed to.
"Bakugou I-"
"Y/N, about the-"
You both had talked at the same time, making you giggle. "You first." You said, and he snorted. "Of course me first." Okay then. "Remember the promise you made? About doing anything in return for me to teach you to ride a motorcycle?"
You fidgeted, feeling uncomfortable with the topic. "We did have that deal, yes." He laughed at your reaction, his crimson eyes softer than you had ever seen him. You didn't know what was causing your heart to beat so fast, was it the dark sky creating a weird, romantic aura, or was it his eyes looking at you that way?
"Then I want you to do something." Why was he looking at you like this? You couldn't understand what his gaze meant, but it was so different from his harsh, angry look that you just couldn't look away.
"If you ask me to go kill Midoriya, I'm not doing it." You answered, and he rolled his eyes. "Can you shut up for a fucking second? I'm trying to ask you out here."
Your eyes widened, bigger than he had ever seen them, as you choked on your voice. "You what?!"
"You fucking heard me." He scoffed, but you could see the fear in his eyes. "As your part of the deal, I want you to... Go on a date with me." He looked at you expectedly. "Or kiss me, whatever pleases you." Bakugou smirked as you punched his arm, face burning.
"I would love to go on a date with you." You smiled, and he grinned as he tried to hide his relief. "Of course you'll go on a date with me, you promised after all."
"Worst deal of my life." You said jokingly, but he stopped walking suddenly. Maybe it was a little too early for those jokes, you thought and tried to fix it. "I didn't really mean-"
"And you'll not go meet Dunce face tonight for whatever the fuck it is meeting for." You rolled your eyes, scoffed as you started to walk. "Oh come on, Bakugou, no need to get all jealous now."
"Jealous, my ass." He muttered, but he swung his arm over your shoulder, just in case.

Tumblr media
⠀"tooru? i've tried calling you for almost an hour now... what are you still doing here?" the janitor had allowed you an entrance inside seijoh, your light jacket pressed against your body as you scuffled through the gym doors, your tongue clicking as you eyed a certain brunette captain serving his god-knows-how-many time of deadly top-spin serves.
⠀his eyes darted in your direction the moment your voice filled the echoey gym walls, your concerned tone ringing back and forth as his brown irises glared at you through narrow eyelids. a nervous lump grew in your throat, your stomach understanding the regret in the decision you made. oikawa was in one of his moods again; you should've known better than to barge in during his serving practice.
⠀still, even with your boyfriend acting the way he was - without saying a single word - there was no use in just leaving aoba johsai as quickly as you arrived. you came to check on tooru, and that was exactly what you were going to do. "it's late, tooru. we still have school tomorrow! you need your rest, please give yourself a break, it'll do more harm than good for you."
⠀"you say that every time, y/n." oikawa rolled his eyes as he bent down to grab a nearby volleyball rolling at his feet, palming it in his right hand and pointing it at the net. his focus was intent - you knew exactly what he was doing. for the past couple of weeks, the captain focused his practice on serving, locking in and applying all of his power to one spot on the court only. it was a feat not many could accomplish, but tooru was scarily coming close to mastering such a challenge. it required extra practice, of course, but certainly not to this extent.
⠀"as your girlfriend and as the manager of the aoba johsai volleyball team, i'm worried about you, you know?" taking a deep, brave breath, you stepped further into the gym, your footsteps creating more echoes for the two of you to listen to as you approached the sweat-covered third year, who had paused his serving practice to watch you come to him. his lips were pursed - and not in a way that sent your heart aflutter. oikawa hated when you disturbed him and tried talking him out of practicing; he'd give any reason and excuse to avoid it.
⠀"just one more serve, alright? then you can drag me out, whatever. i don't really want to listen to your self-health lectures right now." his free hand rested on his hips, the volleyball now resting between his waist and underneath his arm, interrupting you as your mouth opened to say something more. you had grown accustomed to tooru's mood swings as time went on; he didn't mean much by it, and you understood his position. his passion towards the sport was what originally captivated you towards the captain in the first place. you weren't exactly part of his fanclub, per se, but you sure as hell were close enough as a member. the only difference between you and the other girls was that you were lucky enough to snag the job as the volleyball club manager.
⠀"one serve, tooru." your arms crossed as you bit back his nasty glare with one of your own. most of the time, it worked. "push your luck and i'll call iwaizumi here to drag you out of the gym himself." you and hajime were always a tag team whenever it came to putting an iron fist down on tooru, though the stubborn male usually only listened to iwa, since he was the one who packed a nasty punch. oikawa did listen to you occasionally, just not as much as you would've liked.
⠀he rolled his eyes and turned away from you in place of a reply, holding the ball out in front of him. he was silent, and so were you. this was his routine for practice, all of his dirty talk could wait for the matches. you moved to his sports bag, sighing to yourself as you saw his cellphone plopped on top of his club jacket like a cherry on top. he must've had his ringer off, which would explain why he didn't pick up any of your calls. crossing your arms lightly over your chest, you watched with intent eyes as your boyfriend tossed his ball into the air, his gaze directly focused on nothing else but the flying object. he began his standard approach, your breath held as the gym exploded with the sound of his palm coming in contact with the volleyball. your eyes could hardly follow its path; you blinked once, and the ball was already bouncing against the wall.
⠀"damn, another fluke." you were about to compliment tooru's killer serve before you listened to him reprimand himself - you could tell this wasn't the first time he scolded himself for a mistake only he could identify. you noticed him walking to grab another ball, but you ran out to him, kicking his targeted ball out of reach before looking up at him and pressing a finger to his chest lightly.
⠀"enough, tooru. you promised me only one more serve. you've done that already, pack up so we can leave already. you have tomorrow to continue."
⠀"what the hell, y/n? i was just going to-"
⠀you knew him way too well to believe his next lie. "don't even try and say you were going to start picking up volleyballs. i see that look in your eyes, as clear as a cloudless day. you were intent on serving again, tooru; you can't lie to me. you-"
⠀"could you just stop already? who are you, my mother?" he clenched his jaw as he swatted your finger away from his chest, storming away from you as he bent down to pick up another ball, just right behind the boundary line. "i know you care, y/n. you make that very clear. but i can take care of myself, okay? just go home."
⠀"tooru-"
⠀"go, y/n."
⠀oh hell no you weren't.
⠀not without him leaving too.
⠀you turned the corner and pretended to leave seijoh, your face faking its exasperation. leaning against the wall right outside of the gym doors, you reached into your front pocket, your phone warm in your hand. unlocking the screen and searching through your contacts, you tapped the call button for the one person that had the ability to drag oikawa out of the gymnasium.
⠀"hello?"
⠀"iwa! thank goodness you answered."
⠀"it's so late, y/n. do you need help burying a body or something?"
⠀"i wish. i hope this isn't too much to ask, but could you please come to seijoh? tooru refuses to stop practicing, and he won't listen to me."
⠀"god, again?" a sigh could be heard from the other line. "yeah, i'll be right there. open the door for me, will you?"
⠀"thank you so much, iwa. i'll be at the door."
⠀you hung up the call, your eyes gazing at the doors as you waited for your friend to appear. you bit down on the side of your cheek and listened to every sound of contact tooru made with every serve. nothing could get him out of his moods - at least, not anything verbal. you'd need physical force to actually get him to step out of the gym doors. hence, why you needed hajime here.
⠀you heard a knock at the door a few minutes later, and you just about sprinted, a gracious smile stretched upon your lips as you allowed iwaizumi into the school. he looked like he rolled out of bed, his mouth in his natrual scowl. when his eyes laid upon you, his glare softened when he looked at your smile. "alright, where is he?"
⠀"in the gym, where he always is."
⠀"allow me." rolling up his own sleeves, the spiky-haired ace marched through the gym doors with you in line behind him, peering over him to look at oikawa's face the moment he was in the setter's line of vision.
⠀"oh, it's iwa. i'm not surprised, y/n is too stubborn to listen to me."
⠀"you're one to talk, shittykawa. don't you know what time it is?" taking out his phone and shaking it to make a point, he wasted no time in walking towards the brunette. you were nervous; usually oikawa would falter at the sight of hajime alone, but tonight seemed to be different. instead of giving in, he merely gave his new company a dirty glare. "go home already. it's late, we have school tomorrow, and the playoffs are soon. you're just going to tire yourself out, and i'll beat your ass if we don't face the other teams at our best." he then chuckled. "i've pulled you out of here myself multiple times, don't think i won't do it again."
⠀oikawa turned his icy stare at you, before glancing back at hajime with a bored yawn. "fine, fine," he retorted, throwing his calloused hands up in mock surrender, "you win, y/n. happy? i'm leaving the gym now, so don't be any more pushy than you have been tonight. it's giving me a headache."
⠀those words hurt more than you thought they would, tooru antagonizing the fact that you were only trying to care for him. your eyes rested at your feet, letting your hair rest in front of your face as you listened to tooru's volleyball shoes walk across the gym. you could hear iwa's as well; the two of them were picking up the volleyballs around the court, but your legs were in no position to help, not with how fragile they felt.
⠀you looked up on time to see oikawa slinging his bag over his shoulder, his nasty little glare plastered all over his face as he began to walk out of the gym. "goodnight," was the only thing he muttered as he brushed against your shoulder with his own on his way out. your head whirled around as you watched your boyfriend walk away without another word. you didn't have it in you to reply.
⠀"are you sure you two are in a relationship?" you jumped at iwa's voice, just noticing him standing beside you. "he didn't even bother asking to drive you home. some boyfriend he is."
⠀"ah, don't be like that, iwa." you forced yourself to laugh at the situation in a desperate attempt to make light of it, but the effort was futile, and utterly pathetic. "tooru's a good boyfriend! he just gets in his moods sometimes, but it happens to the best of us. nothing i can't handle. after a good night's rest, i'm sure he'll be back to normal in no time."
⠀"i hope you're right." he turned to face you, peering down at you before placing both of his hands in his pockets. "do you need a ride home? i know you live close by, but it's gotten colder now, and we can't have our manager catching a cold on us."
⠀this time a real laugh left your system, shrugging your shoulders as you looked to the outside, before back at hajime. he looked pretty serious, despite looking fatigued. "are you sure, iwa? i don't want to bother you with it."
⠀"nonsense." he shook his head. "since your boyfriend couldn't do his job in taking care of you, i'll just drive you home tonight. okay?"
⠀your heart dropped at his words.
⠀your boyfriend couldn't do his job in taking care of you.
⠀"... yeah, okay."

Thursday, 1979 1:00pm
Eric forman's basement
You were sitting watching TV with your legs over Hyde's that were on the table, while Fez and Eric played some card game. It was a cute little flirtatious thing you and Hyde did: pretending that the other one was taking the space on the table, shoving at each other's legs, which then always ended up with you laying your legs over his letting him "win".
After about 20 minutes Jackie walked in: "Hey y/n, ready to go dress shopping for the wedding?"
"Ugh. I think I'm just going to wear a really nice jumpsuit or something, I hate dresses." You said taking your legs off of Hydes.
"Why do you hate wearing dresses, y/n?" Fez asked.
You: "because I gained some weight and I'm not skinny like everyone else so it's not going to look good, they never do."
"What are you talking about?? You're gorgeous. You have curves, every man's weakness. I love your body."
"I know you meant that in a non creepy way, so thank you fez." You gave Fez a kiss on the cheek, making Hyde shift uncomfortably in his seat.
"See you guys later."
The rest of the gang caught up with you guys at the mall 2 hours later to buy some tuxedos and more flowers.
Hyde: "Hey where's y/n and Fez?"
Jackie: "well y/n was crying in the changing area again, so Fez was helping her calm down. I couldn't take it anymore, she was ruining the good mood for trying on clothes."
Hyde walked into the changing area and saw fez holding your hands, you spoke up: "Thanks fezzie, you really know how to make me feel better." you hugged him and it seemed more intimate than usual, so Hyde took off. Generally you would always flirt or cuddle with Fez when he did it first but something about it lately just doesn't sit well with Hyde.
In the circle
Tumblr media
"Jealous? Nah man. don't be ridiculous forman. I just think Fez might like her now, he's starting to make the real moves."
"Maybe because you took so long to make a move dude. She deserves someone who can finally make a move. Oo or bust a move, which Fez can also do. I vote for Fez." Donna says getting super excited.
"I wanna say Burn but I just don't wanna rub it in more man you seem pretty upset. Just kidding! DOUBLE BURN!"
"Whatever you guys, it's no big deal okay.….. so I found out there's this car that runs on water man-"
Eric, Donna, Kelso: "shut up with that story."
Eric's living room
8:00pm
You walked into the living room only to see Hyde watching TV alone. "Hey Hyde, whats up?"
"Nothing much man. What's up with you?"
"Just got back from meeting a friend at the hub."
"Surprised Fez wasn't with you." He whispered.
"What ??"
"Oh nothing I'm just tired I'm gonna head to bed."
"Really at this hour?"
"Yeah all that shopping wore me out."
"Oh… okay good night then."
"Night."
You turned to the TV but you couldn't really focus since you knew Hyde was acting different. Was he mad at you? So you went over to Donna's. "Plus nothing good is on" You said to yourself.
~~
"I just don't know why he's being like this, I mean who sleeps at 8:00pm??"
She just made a weird face and shrugged.
"Why did you make that face? Oh my god you know something! Tell meee."
"no I don't!"
"Donna! This is serious."
"fine okay look, Eric told me that Hyde is jealous because of how you and Fez have been lately and it makes sense to me."
"Hyde doesn't get jealous. Plus Fez and I haven't done anything, it was just a kiss on the cheek earlier pretty normal stuff."
"Yeah but it was also in the changing area. You two were holding hands and Hyde saw."
"but it was just because I was -"
"Crying yeah and you didn't go to Hyde like you normally do."
"Oh… wow you're right. I didn't think he would care though. Hyde doesn't know what to do when a girl is crying."
"Maybe but just go and talk to him about it, make him feel special again, so he can act like normal." You both giggled but you quickly stopped.
"I can't."
"Why not??" You raised your eyebrows, making a face in a 'do you even need to ask?' kind of way.
Gasping she says: "Because you like him. I knew it!!!"
"Of course I do Donna, have you seen him? I can't talk to him about why I was crying. That'll make me look stupid and weak."
"I don't think Hyde will see you in those ways. He's always made you feel better when you were down. It'll be fine."
"Thanks Donna, you're the best. I'll talk to him tomorrow! So how's Eric doing with the whole no more sex thing??"
"Well you know he still tries all the time to make me say yes."
"Like he said before everything gets him horny. He'll be fine." You both laughed.
~~~
NEXT AFTERNOON
12:00 pm, Eric's kitchen
Hyde was putting his plate in the sink, Kelso was at the fridge, and you and Fez were sitting at the table; Eric & Donna just left the room with Jackie, to talk about more wedding stuff.
You: "hey fez I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie tonight?"
"Really with you? Yes of course."
"Great!" You watched hyde the whole time.
"Hyde do you wanna come along tonight?"
"No i'm, um working."
"We can wait till tomorrow."
"I work late then too." You narrowed your eyes as he speaks kinda coldly. After that Hyde left the room, so you followed him out.
"What's wrong jealous?''
''Are you kidding me jealous? Ha no way."
"Well then why the cold shoulder?"
"I've just been busy."
"Mm busy, yeah busy giving me the cold shoulder!"
"Well I don't exactly see you spending time with me either. Lately all it's been is fez and you."
"Yeah I guess I didnt notice that till Donna said something, I'm sorry Steven, that'll change I promise."
"Its cool. Now I get to do this." He leaned in and kissed you. No tongue just a genuine kiss, that lasted about 10 seconds before you guys pulled apart.
"Wowwww that was -." You started.
"Amazing yeah."
"How about we go and see that movie tonight?" You bit your lip.
"Cant I do work late tonight, but tomorrow I'm free."
"So you were jealous huh??" You asked a little too happy.
He smiled playfully, "I dont do jealous."
"No of course not Steven." You smiled back, while he put his arm around your waist, walking you towards his room so you could talk while he got ready for work.
Kita Shinsuke x gn!Reader
Synopsis: Hitchhiking through the countryside you catch a ride from a handsome stranger, which just might turn out to be the greatest decision of your life – or your greatest mistake.
wc: 2k || thriller-ish, mystery-ish
a/n: heavily inspired by one of my all time favourite songs; The Count of Tuscany. tbh this fic was just an excuse for me to listen to it on repeat for several hours :P as always feedback is greatly appreciated!
Tumblr media
In the bathroom of the roadside gas station you change into your best clothes and brush through the tangles in your hair, wash your face, scrub your hands to make sure there's no dirt beneath your nails. No one in their right mind would pick up a scruffy looking hitchhiker.
You decide to stand outside where everyone who drives in to fill their gas tanks will notice you. On a small chalkboard you bought for a few hundred yen in a convenience store you write the name of your destination with the prettiest writing you manage and even add a smiley face. That should do the trick of gaining attention.
You've almost reached your destination already. The western sea of Japan. Being born on the eastern coast you have watched the sun rise above the ocean your entire life. At least once in your life you want to see it sink in the vastness of the sea hugging your homeland.
Would a train or a bus bring you to your destination faster? They would, sadly your wallet disagreed with that option. Hitchhiking really was the best option even if you often waited for hours with no luck. Still it wasn't all bad; one time an elderly lady stoped to give you a lift. You sat in the back as the front sit was occupied by her dog who excitedly turned to sniffle and lick your face, begging for scratches. She made you stay for dinner and even prepared a futon for you to sleep. “All my children and grandchildren moved to the big cities.“ She scratched behind the ears of her dozing four legged companion as you drank tea while sun slowly set behind the hilltops. “Slowly but surely we are bein' left behind. Seein' someone so young come 'round makes these old bones incredibly happy.“
Following morning she wished you good luck on your journey. Her name and address are written in your dairy. When new year comes in a few months you mustn't forget to send her a gift. You watched her stroll away, one slow step after another, dog trailing behind, her back bent under the weight of years. Is that what the future holds for you?
You try to keep a positive outlook, at least you get to see the beauty of the countryside. The green hills and vast fields of rice swaying in the wind are a sight that takes your breath away. Summer's coming to an end. It will soon be harvest season.
Your legs are starting to hurt. Hours have passed and nobody pays you even a second glance. Under the hat your hair sticks to your skin, droplets of sweat trickle down your back. You're all but ready to give up and start looking for a place to stay the night when a man about your age approaches.
He has caught your eye before. Something about his overalls and silvery hair glimmering in the sun made him stand out from the others. He kept glancing over at you while filling his tank.
“I'm not goin' as far as ya want,“ his eyes glance over the chalkboard you're holding. “But if ya want I can give ya a ride to the next town over.“
You eagerly nod. “That would be great!“ You offer him a hand. “You can call me y/n!“
His hand is calloused. Hand of someone working outside. “Kita.“
Ride is comfortable. Kita is more on the quiet side but once you mention how pretty the landscape looks with all the swaying fields he laughs . It's a bright sound that makes your heart skip a beat. He tells you he works the fields, not all you see, but many of them. Talking to him quickly becomes easy. To your surprise you find you have a lot in common. When you arrive to the town and he stops by a small inn offering rooms you're almost reluctant to leave his company. He hesitates when taking your backpack from the back seats. “I know we just met,“ he softly says, “but could I take you out for dinner? Maybe tonight?“
How could you possibly say no? You've been travelling on your own for the past two weeks and the loneliness is starting to get to you. And he's cute.
When he picks you up a few hours later he's wearing a nice button down. He combed his hair though you preferred it when it was all messy. “I'm not late am I?“
“No, I'm just a bit early.“
“Here,“ he shyly averts his eyes when he hands you a small bouquet of spider lilies that have yet to open in full bloom.
Your cheeks flush. It has been a long time since anyone gifted you flowers. “Thank you,“ you say, sincerely.
Kita takes you to a small family owned restaurant down the street. He opens the door for you and pours you tea while you skim through the menu. Talking to him is so easy. He mentions he used to play volleyball back in high school, that many of his old teammates went on to play professionally. Embarrassed you have to tell him you know very little about volleyball. As you speak his eyes linger on your face. Sports have never been your strong suit, you admit.
“Don't feel bad over it,“ he reassuringly smiles. “So how come yer travellin' these parts?“
Your dream of seeing the sunset over the sea seems so simple when you tell him but Kita nods. There's wisdom in his eyes you don't usually see in your peers. Why are you so relieved he doesn't find your dream childish? “I just want to see the country, get to know the land and the history,“ you eagerly continue.
“There's an old castle ruin not far from the town. Tourists often visit it. If ya want I can show ya 'round,“ he offers.
A trip to ruins does sound nice. Even a little bit romantic. One more day staying around couldn't hurt, right?
Kita's smile widens when you agree. “I'll pick ya up tomorrow. Would around midday be alright?“
For the rest of the night you're all giddy on the inside. You can't wait for tomorrow to arrive. Kita walks you back to the inn and waits till you're inside before heading his own way. What a gentleman, you think to yourself. Meeting someone like him was the last thing you expected.
Tumblr media
Whatever road lead to the castle in its days of glory has long since been claimed by the nature. Kita walks with steps of someone who has walked this path a thousand times before. You trail behind him, your clothes getting caught in branches all the time. When he sees you struggling he slows down and even offers to carry your small backpack for you.
“This castle used to be really important back in the days,“ he explains while you catch your breath. “It's strategic position is really important. There's a legend my grannie used to tell me. Durin' the Sengoku period the youngest son of a shogun fortified himself in this castle and defended it for months. Then his enemies dug tunnels beneath.“ He offers you a hand to help you climb over a pile of rubble marking what once were the castle walls. “Filled them with wood soaked in fat and set it aflame. Castle crumbled and buried hundreds of soldiers beneath it. Some say the son of the shogun still haunts this place.“
“An interesting story,“ you say, ignoring how every hair on your body stands up.
By the time you reach the ruins you're drenched in sweat and yet once the view of the valley beneath opens up you forget all about the fatigue. You step closer to the ledge and peek over it. The side of the hill plunges straight down. Deep below you see tree tops. If you slipped -
A hand grabs your shoulder. “Careful. The stones 'round here often crumble.“
You murmur an apology. Kita's hand lingers on yours, his eyes following when you walk away to have a closer look at the ruins. They're covered with grass and small trees sprouting from the crack between stones. Funny, you can't see any tables with information about this place. Having a map would surely help with orientation. You can't be the only tourist with a knack of getting lost.
Kita approaches you with a smile. “Wanna see somethin' really cool?“
You follow him inside the ruins. “Watch yer step,“ he holds the branches of a lonely tree so they don't smack you as you walk by, “it's easy to trip 'round here.“
Walls here are better preserved, higher. The shadows they cast seem longer. You follow Kita inside the labyrinth of crumbled stone. An uneasy feeling of being watched grows inside you as your approach scares off a flock of birds.
Kita pushes away a curtain of poison ivy to reveal a gaping hole where the walls lean on the cliff towering above. Cold gust of wind makes you shudder. “Here,“ Kita offers you a torchlight. Your hands are cold. Fingers barely capable of wrapping around the black plastic.
He turns to you, his eyes carefully examining your face before he enters. “Ya comin'? Be careful where ya step, the stairs are slippery.“ He offers you his hand. It's warm.
“There's a natural cave beneath the castle.“ His calm voice echoes through the winding staircase. “Apparently it used to have a small pool for the nobles to cool in durin' summer. It's filled with rubble now.“
Light of the torches casts eerie shadows on the walls. Stone surface under your fingers is cold and damp. You follow Kita through a narrow hallway and soon enough you reach a small cave. It probably used to be bigger but a part of the ceiling caved in.
Rubble crunches under the soles of your shoes. In the eerie silence all you hear is your breathing and unsteady thumping in your chest. Somewhere in the distance perhaps a ghost of a long deceased soldier- you curse yourself in your head. Why are you trying to scare yourself?
You look up to see stalactites growing from the ceiling. How many thousands of years old must they be?
“They only grow about a millimetre per year. Must be tens of thousands of years old.“ Kita's voice makes you jump. How did he know exactly what you were thinking?
Only now you notice he's standing between you and the exit to the hallway. His eyes are fixed on you. He's closing off the only exit. Pounding in your chest quickens. This place is starting to suffocate you.
Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop.
You really did follow a complete stranger into a cave beneath an abandoned castle. What an idiot. Naive, trusting idiot.
Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop.
Slowly, like water dripping from the ceiling it sinks in you may not make it out of here.
Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop.
Ah, don't be stupid! You still have years to live! A boring office job to take on! When was the last time you spoke to your friends?
Kita's eyes never leave yours as he steps closer. In the dim light it all seems so- Kita wouldn't- But you don't know him, do you? Torch rolls from your shaking fingers.
Is this really how it ends? Hidden from the sunlight, caught like a mouse in a trap of stone and cold cutting to your bones? You can't breathe. Will they ever find you? Tears well up in your eyes. Why? What have you done to deserve this?
You're shaking. Will you ever see the sunset over the vastness of the sea? Will you lay beside the unfortunate soldiers from centuries ago till you become only clean, nameless bones?
A shaky plea for your life is all you manage to stammer. Through the tears his face is just muddled colours. Is this really how you die?
Warm touch of his hands cupping your face, thumbs wiping away tears, his soft, gentle voice, paralyse you. “Hey, why are ya cryin'?“
A/N: Amy=y/n basically, she’s the reader, I just wanted to use a name instead of y/n. It comes from Army! This is the first fic I write on here. I will post more soon and probably create a masterlist after I have a few. Also, there could be a smutty part 2 if you guys like this one!
Yoongi's phone vibrated on the table. The screen lit up and illuminated his face as he peeked over it. The rest of the boys groaned.
"Is it your girl?" Hoseok asked with his mouth full. "Are you going to leave already?"
"No, that's not it…" Yoongi mumbled, picking up his chopsticks again and going for the barbequed ribs at the center of the table.
"Ah, hyung. We don't even get to eat all together anymore," Jungkook complained. "Don't go yet."
"What are you even talking about, we're together all the time. We work all day."
"Yes, but we don't eat like this. You all go back to your girlfriends or whatever," the youngest continued, pouting.
"Well, what did you expect?" Jimin laughed, covering his mouth with his unoccupied hand. "We want to spend time with the people we love, too."
Jin waved his hands around. "Ah, leave him. He's just sulky 'cause he's still single." Immediately, he let out a short, high-pitched scream when Jungkook punched him on his side. As the two continued arguing, Yoongi's phone vibrated again. This time he picked it up and read through his texts, and before he could even reply to his girlfriend, the members spoke up again.
"She's really impatient, isn't she?" Hoseok joked.
"Does she miss you so much? Are you going to go to her?" Taehyung added.
"Honestly, it's getting somewhat late. I'll leave in a bit too." Namjoon seemed to take his hyung's side, although in reality, he knew someone was waiting for him, too.
"Ah… sorry guys," Yoongi said and got up, eyes still glued to his phone. "I'll leave first."
There were a couple of sighs and complains, but he didn't stay long enough to listen to them. He grabbed his coat and was out of the room. It wasn't like they weren't used to this, anyway. Every time they decided to hang out like this, someone would bail or call it an early night for the sake of spending time with their partners. Whether it was Yoongi the one to go first, or Hoseok, or Namjoon, once someone broke the group, the others seemed to disappear very easily.
"Oh, come on, Jimin," Taehyung looked at his best friend with sympathetic eyes. "You know how it is- she'll start getting jealous and be moody if I stay here too late. She hasn't seen me all day, you understand that, right?" He talked while he put on his coat.
"Neither has my girlfriend, but it's not like she'll make a scene because I'm out having dinner with my friends," Jimin replied.
Tae glanced at him one last time. "Well, what can I say? You have a very cool girlfriend. Goodnight!" he called and left.
"Yeah right!" Jungkook scoffed. "He's only using his girl as an excuse. I know he really just wants to go see her instead of stay here."
Jimin looked down at his mostly empty plate. He took a deep breath as he played with the leftovers, pushing them around in circles. "I don't know…" he mumbled. He quietly took his phone out of his pocket, under the table. It was 10:13 pm and there were only three of them left. And he had no texts, no missed calls. He put his phone back in his pocket and looked at the boys again. "You see how they always get calls and stuff? Maybe they really are waiting for them at home. What if they get in trouble?"
"For what? Having a late dinner with their members? It's not like we're hanging out with other women, anyway."
Jin suddenly stood up, earning a death stare from the maknae. "I'm leaving too. I promised I'd be back by 10, I don't want her to worry, you know?"
Jungkook didn't even protest. He just looked at the only other member left there with a defeated look in his eyes. "Jimin…" he sighed. "You're the only one who doesn't dump me. Even though you're in a relationship, you still find time for me. I appreciate that."
The older boy bit his bottom lip aggressively. He rolled his eyes and went back to playing with his food. "Sure. I have a girlfriend, that doesn't mean I'll stop hanging out with you," he said sounding almost angry. Jungkook just thought he shared his frustration.
"Exactly!" he exclaimed, stuffing his mouth with whatever meat was left on the table. Jimin eyed him, momentarily wondering how he could still be eating. He took out his phone again, just enough to check the screen, and sighed when there was nothing new.
"You really do have the coolest girlfriend, hyung," the boy spoke after he swallowed. "She never complains, right? I like Amy. Should I just come over to hang out with you two after this? Since everyone else left?"
His eyes widened at that and he whipped his head to the side. "No!" he said before he had come up with an excuse as to why. "Uh… well... I'm really tired today, Jungkookie." He lowered his voice and started rubbing the back of his neck for extra effect. "I want to go to sleep. Maybe you can come tomorrow?" But Jungkook just narrowed his eyes at his lame act. "Amy will have probably fallen asleep already, anyway. That must be why she hasn't called me yet."
That seemed to convince him a little bit. He dropped his shoulders and pouted. "Alright," he agreed. "Let's go home. Tomorrow all three of us can watch a movie or something after dance practice, right?"
Jimin was already on his feet before Jungkook finished his sentence. "Yeah, a movie sounds good. Let's go."
He arrived outside your shared apartment at 10:54 pm. Looking at the closed door, he wondered whether you had actually fallen asleep. He knew you were quite a night owl, but he just thought maybe that would be a decent excuse. Or maybe it'd be worse.
"Oh, you're here?"
He almost didn't hear your voice, lost in thought as he were. But it brought him back to earth, and he noticed you sat at the corner of the couch, a lamp by your side and a book in your hands. You smiled warmly and marked the page you were at before closing your book and getting up to walk to your boyfriend.
"What's with the long face? Did something happen?"
"Huh?" Jimin's eyebrows shot up, only then letting go of the door handle he was clenching. He ran a hand through his hair, avoiding eye contact. "Uh… no, nothing."
You tilted your head to the side and gave him a playful but incredulous look. You put your hands on his waist and pulled him slightly towards you, but he didn't come as easily as he normally did. "You sure? Because you're literally pouting right now," you remarked, placing a peck on his puffy lips.
"It's just that…" Jimin ran a hand over his face, rubbing his eyes. He pulled away, his shoulders heavily going up and down as he sighed. He looked at you with the corner of his eyes. "What did you do while I was out?"
"Oh, well…" Your eyes lit up and you cracked a cocky smile, swaying slightly as you smoothly started walking towards the kitchen. "I don't know if you noticed anything when you walked in, but I actually–"
"Did you even care if I came back?"
You froze in your place. Your smile dropped, a frown taking its place in your face. "Jimin… what?"
He just gave you a casual shrug, as if he was just spitballing. "I don't know, did you care when I came back, or if I came back at all?"
"What are you even talking about?" You walked closer. "What do you mean?"
"I mean… Do you care whether we're together or not? Do you care about me?"
You placed your hands on his shoulders to look at him better. He wasn't avoiding your eyes anymore; instead, he was piercing through them with his unblinking, watery ones. "Jimin, baby, did you drink? Of course I care about you, what kind of question is that?"
He simply said: "Oh," and munched on his bottom lip. You grabbed both his cheeks, but he pulled you away. He turned around, not to go anywhere. He just stood there, facing the wall.
"Baby, why would you ask me something like that?" you repeated.
"Oh, no reason. Just 'cause you never seem to care if I'm with the boys instead of you. You never care if I work all day or don't see you for weeks. You don't even care when I have to work with other women. That's why I'm asking; do you even care about me?"
You closed your eyes shut and shook your head. Did you hear that right? "Wait… When you say I don't care about you, you mean I don't complain and I don't get jealous?"
Jimin finally turned back around. He ran both his hands through his hair, pulling at it. "I- I'm not saying I want you to complain, I just– I mean, why don't you ever ask me to spend more time with you?"
"Because I know you have work and other responsibilities! I respect that. Did you not want me to be understanding or something?"
"No but… like, when I'm not working. You could say we have to be together all the time. You only get to see so little of me, and you don't even want that?"
You laughed. How was this even a real argument? You looked towards the kitchen and your laughter turned bitter and stopped abruptly. "Are you serious right now?" Jimin's eyebrows dropped at the sudden change in your tone. "You think I like that you're working all the time? That we can't even go on a date, that I only get to see you with the stopwatch? When you leave for months to go on tour, do you think I throw parties back here? No, I go to sleep every night alone, with nothing to distract me."
Jimin took a step back. He hadn't expected you to talk back like this. Or actually, he hadn't expected you to have thought about this before, which you clearly had. "If you feel like that, why don't you show it? Why don't you say anything?" he said trying his best to keep his sulky posture.
You took one look at his pouty lips and remembered it wasn't your place to get angry right now. You had admittedly gotten a little offended that your boyfriend would even think something like that, but you should be reassuring him he's wrong, not opening up a new argument. You sighed while slightly rolling your eyes. Your hands found his chubby cheeks and you pulled him close.
"Because I know this is difficult. I knew the moment I decided to get into this relationship." You caressed his cheekbone and moved a hair strand away from his eyes. "It's difficult for me and it's difficult for you, and I didn't want to make it even more so by complaining all the time. Jimin…" you whispered his name as delicately as you could, giving him no other choice but to look at you, "–of course I want to be with you as much as I can. If it was up to me, I'd be with you 24/7. But I understand you can't spend all your free time on me. What do you want me to do, keep you on a leash? Ban you from seeing your friends or anyone other than me?"
Your boyfriend looked down and kicked his foot, his tongue probing at his cheek. "That'd be better than not even sending me a text while I'm out…"
You started sulking, too. It was true, you didn't send him any texts that evening. And maybe, just maybe, that could be an excuse to feel a little neglected. But it just happened so, and he was reading too much into it. "I knew you were with the boys, I didn't want to disturb you…" you mumbled your explanation.
Jimin didn't raise his head, but raised his eyes, looking up at you, still with that same pout. "All the other guys constantly get texts and calls from their girlfriends asking them to come home, it's not like one more text from you would be a hassle…"
You bit your lower lip. "I didn't know…" You pulled him closer and left a tiny peck on his lips. "I'm sorry, I didn't know baby." You pecked him again. "From now on, I promise that I will text you anytime I miss you, just to let you know. And if you can come see me, even better."
Although his expression didn't change much –his frown might have gotten even deeper, actually– you could tell that his mood had taken a 180° turn. Jimin made a sound of contentment in the back of his throat. His small fingers crept up your pajama shirt and grabbed it tightly. He quickly pecked your lips, too, as if he was trying to do it before you could stop him.
"You don't need to worry about seeming clingy, Amy. Give me all the clingy you got, I really don't mind," he spoke sheepishly.
You chuckled. "You don't mind? You seem like you desperately need it, actually." You managed to get a glimpse of your boyfriend's blush before he buried his face in the crook of your neck. "Ah, what am I going to do with you…" you laughed, fluffing his hair and rubbing his back. "You know, you must be the only person in the world who complains about his girlfriend not complaining."
Jimin pulled back looking all offended. "I'm not complaining! I'm just- it's just, you know, complaining is a lot better than not saying anything. If you don't say anything then I'll just think you don't care."
Before he could pout again, you grabbed his face and squished his lips together. "No… You know, I can't always tell you everything," you said. "And sometimes it's better that we're not together." Jimin's eyes looked like they were going to pop off his head. You just went over this whole argument, and this is what you decide to say? He opened his mouth all wide and round, ready to go off in his thick satoori accent, when you squished his lips even more and hushed him. "Tonight, for example, just because I didn't text you didn't mean I wasn't thinking about you." You finally released him, taking his hand into yours and walking towards the kitchen. "I tried to ask you this when you came in but… didn't you notice anything?"
Jimin frowned. He looked around, perked his ears, sniffed the room… His mouth formed a tiny 'o' and he looked at you innocently. "What's that smell?"
You pouted at him, trying to look a little hurt, while you opened the oven. "Well… while you were out with your buddies, I got kinda bored. And I decided to bake you a cake for when you come home."
"A cake?" Jimin chirped and moved immediately to grab the pan from your hands. It wasn't anything too elaborate, a simple chocolate cake with no decorations or anything. You just liked baking stuff when you had nothing much to do. "For me?" your boyfriend asked, suddenly regretting ever starting an argument with you.
"I'll eat too, what did you think?" you chuckled.
After you had cut a few slices, warmed up a couple of cups of milk to go with it, too, you watched your boyfriend munch on the warm cake from across the counter. You noticed how he was sitting, with his legs spread out and his arms supporting most of his body weight. He looked tired, something you had missed when he walked in due to his energetic temper. You stuffed your face with the last bite of cake and stared at his thighs. He wanted clingy, right? You got up and walked to him, sitting on his lap while making sure you didn't put too much weight on him. You snaked an arm over his neck and used your other hand to feed him a few more bites.
"So…" you purred. "Do you think I should make you feel good tonight to show you how much I care about you?" Jimin stopped chewing, looked in your eyes, and swallowed. A smirk started forming on his lips and he almost opened his mouth to talk, when you continued. "Or should you make me feel good as an apology for ever doubting me?"
Your fingertips fondled with the tiny hair at the back of his neck and you felt how he got goosebumps just by that. Not ever looking away, he clapped his hands together to rid them of any crumbs, and grabbed your waist, urging you to straddle him. His smirk appeared on his lips again and his stare got darker, pupils dilated, head slightly lowered.
"Hmm… I think we got time for both."
Two souls don't find each other by simple accident, Harry thought after taking a seat for the first time that night, his feet were probably going to be swollen tomorrow, they were killing him already. But he wasn't keen on turning down a dance from the girl collapsing in the settee right next to him. A slow Amy Winehouse song was their cue to rest.
"Do you want a beer?" Her voice sounded a bit hoarse, probably from all the giggling and singing she did while dancing the night away.
"Yes please."
He watched her trot to the small bar on the other side of the flat, focused on how the multiple bracelets bounced in her left wrist as she instructed her brother which beer to give her. As she came back to take her previous seat, he felt a small wave of anxiety for wanting nothing more than to start a conversation with her, as she handed him the beer. Usually it was the other way around, but in most of the cases, people wanted to know his persona.
He knew the silence was becoming awkward, but he was still debating whether to ask about her upbringing or what she did for work, whatever the case was, he didn't want to make a fool out of himself, he almost never seemed to be that lucky.
"You're not used to people being calm around you, are you?" Alma’s frown os curiosity is a mirror to the one on the musician's face.
"Yes and no?" Harry's coy tone makes her smile warmly and shake her head in denial, "so, I'm Hampstead station guy?" Her eyes widen, a shy smile appears on her full lips before she takes another large sip of her drink.
"It's unlikely to find the same person thrice in the tube! I told my friend Laura, it felt like a glitch in the matrix." She answers and he lets out an amused laugh.
"For the record, I wasn't following you, at all..."
"I know, you just had to take the same line I did and it was a happy coincidence," she interrupts him, the new song gathers a few more dancers and Harry wonders if she will ask him to dance again, "although it would've made a great anecdote for my YouTube channel; story time, a famous musician follows me around the city possibly plotting my painful death." She joked as she gingerly flashed her hands before the two of them, as if presenting the latest play from the West End.
It was Harry's eyes turn to be wide and smack his hand into his forehead.
"You have a YouTube channel?" His interest was genuine and Alma made herself more comfortable on the sofa, before proceeding to fill him in about what that was about, just videos about her 'sort of interviewing remarkable people' or so she claimed.
It was something that started as a class project back when she was seventeen, trying to get good grades to win a scholarship and study abroad —none of those things happened. She kept doing it afterwards because it was too much fun, once she interviewed all her friends, she moved onto her family. "Believe me when I tell you, that I have more relatives than I should!" With a smile as big as hers, he sighed before breathing 'lucky' as his heart sped and she continued.
Restaurant owners, chefs, firefighters, barristers, doctors, accountants, waitresses, sexual workers, sex shop employees, bankers, homeless people, hairdressers and apparently every person from her home country had been on the informal interview series. Harry was impressed with the whole concept and her.
"I sort of abandoned it a little when I moved here last year, it was crazy busy the first couple of months and the whole bureaucracy... and I was a little homesick to be honest." For the first time in the night, her voice is thinner, he has to lean in a few inches to hear better, "I miss my parents, my cousins, my aunt, my grandparents. But this is something I've wanted for the longest time you know?" Her eyes bore into his, allowing him to see the vulnerability swimming in them, "I've never felt like an outsider here, never got lost in the tube, took the wrong bus or anything like that. Isn't it weird?" Harry smiled at the sentiment, thoughts of his latest trip to Japan flashing before him.
"No, I think it's marvellous that you feel that way." He cannot be real, is the only thing running through her mind like a restless hamster in its wheel.
Harry and Alma talked about everything they didn’t have in common, despite the brief interruptions to do some shots and drink champagne with the birthday boy. Their families were discussed, their favourite things to do in the summer. Alma even asked him how was work going, as if she didn’t know that he was one of th world’s most successful artists. Harry was thrilled to joke through their drinks and the girl wasn't shy to ask him for a couple more dances. None of them noticed the partying dying around them, it was only after Fernando said his goodbyes to his laughing sister, that they noticed how late/early it actually was.
Before they knew it, golden hues streamed through the window behind them as Freddie walked out of his room and offered them coffee.
"I'm never drinking straight vodka again," Freddie mumbled to himself after finishing his cup of coffee.
"At least it wasn't Vodquila like last time," Alma's words make him groan but agree. "I should go now, need a shower and a healthy breakfast."
After Harry also admitted he needed to be on his way, with all their belongings gathered and after saying goodbye to a very ill Freddie, neither Harry or Alma looked forward to their imminent separation. He had spent hours hearing how busy she is, when not recording content, she was working at Wenzel's and teaching Spanish to her neighbour's daughter on the weekends. Still, he was determined to meet with her again.
As soon as they started moving down the street, Harry noticed the next one was where he had to turn right in order to go home. It wasn't a short walk but the most effective route for sure.
"So, the bus stop is that way," Alma nodded her head to the left, smirking knowingly as she stuffs her hands in her coat pockets.
"Of course," they had come to a rolling stop at the corner. Harry suddenly felt beyond nervous about asking the girl for her phone number. "Thank you, for keeping me company last night." It was amazing he wanted to add, but licked his lips quickly instead.
"You mean keeping you from catching up with all your friends," she corrected him.
Harry shakes his head and smiles, the dimples graciously adorning his cheeks, his racing heart giving him the last push needed to finally ask. "Do you think we could go, like for coffee... sometime?” With that she laughed, immediately memorising the sound of it, her loud cackle is one of the nicest things he has heard in awhile.
"Only if I can buy you something from the selection of pastries." Harry laughed loudly, completely relieved by her answer. She dug around her purse for a moment before taking out a pen and what seemed to be an old receipt, quickly scribbling down her number and handing it to him.
"I'll call you," he beamed, carefully placing the piece of paper in his wallet. He'd be an idiot to lose such a precious fragment of information.
"Looking forward to it," Alma smiled at him for one last time before she started walking to the opposite direction. "See you around Harry." His face was a bit puffy from not having slept properly, but she would be lying to say he didn’t look adorable at the same time.
He waved and watched her walked away, her sweet and tired morning smile seemed to be engraved into the musician's mind as he headed home.
The air was still a bit cold, but the heat was starting to rise and plague London for the rest of the day, the hot summer everyone's been yearning for was finally here, even Harry could feel it in his bones as he continued down his path. He was still highly enamoured by the amazing night he spent sharing a piece of himself with Alma. His feet felt heavy, were even burning a little, but it was nothing as he made his way through his home gate twenty minutes later.
He decided to get some toast and a cuppa for breakfast, his high spirits not faltering even one bit although he could feel the consequences from the all-nighter already with each yawn. After eating he decided to take a shower that got him ready for a well deserved sleep in his comfortable bed.
Waking up around six o'clock startles him at first, Harry is well rested now but a bit grumpy for the weird taste on his tongue, something usual after drinking beer. He scolds himself for not brushing his teeth earlier as he walks in his bathroom. The cool tiles against his bare feet wake him up a bit more. After some needed dental hygiene, Harry gets dressed to go out and pick up his sister for their weekly dinner. Hopefully he can convince her to stay in, that way he can go on and on about the events from the night before.
His feet still hurt, he can even feel a blister underneath his big toe. But it doesn't bother him, it's actually a nice reminder of the incredible things that miraculously happened. Harry knew that since Alma was related to Fernando, someone that was bound to be in his life for the next six months or so, there was a big chance they would've met at some point. But he'd rather think it was fate, some sort of good karma coming round, he stared at her contact on his phone, still charmed by the fact that she gave it to him on the back of a receipt. Ignoring that she only did it that way, because the thought of asking for his mobile to enter it herself, was a very bold move. And Alma wasn’t really that confident, not when his green eyes were boring into hers anyway.
"When are you gonna call her then?" Gemma's voice snaps him out of his daydream for the third time during their quiet dinner in her flat. "What is it? You've got that look."
"What look?" He asks before his sister frowns and pinches her bottom lip with her thumb and index finger. It's his nervous quirk, he sighs, "I don't know, I'm just so nervous." Without a valid reason, he knows the girl is so lovely, maybe that's why.
"You're afraid of fucking it up," she knows, Harry nods. "Well, you could tell her that, perhaps on a text—
"—I want to call her, texting her will make me feel a wanker." Gemma smiles at her little brother, he looked uncharacteristically unsure of himself but nonetheless excited. It was endearing how the first thing he told her after crossing her home's threshold was 'my life is officially a chick flick!' Before proceeding to explain with detail about the whole situation.
"What about a text that reads: hello, this is Harry please save my number so when I find the guts to call you, you don't think it's a telemarketing scam," Gemma might be joking and mocking him all at once, but has a point. A text so she also has his number, makes the situation more even, she can call him too. "Assuming she gave you a real phone number."
"What?" Harry is mortified.
"I'm kidding, you should've seen your face," his sister wanted to drag a bit more her joke, but the preoccupied look on his face stopped her. Gemma couldn't wait to tell their mum, knowing that she would be just as absorbed. "There's nothing wrong with showing interest right away. If you want this to be honest and genuine, set an example." She finished before taking the last bite of pizza.
Harry knew that to be true, but now he was left wondering if it was the right time for him. Had he really left behind all the ghosts and baggage from his past? Or was he still carrying them in the new tattoos of his knees?
Despite his sister's encouraging words about how nothing could go wrong this early with Alma, he couldn't help but wonder if his still grieving heart was ready.
He takes his time walking back home, not caring if it was a really long one, he was aware of the curious eyes once he reached the Southbank but paid no attention to them. He welcomed the chill breeze, hoping for it to cool his boiling mind. Remembering the last time he walked along the river arms around his former flame, her laughter still ringing in his ears, her tender kisses in his knuckles, her delicious scent flying away with the airstream into London's sunshine.
Missing someone is not wrong, Harry reminds himself.
There's no point going down the rabbit hole of what ifs about their relationship. Harry can admit his mistakes, no matter how hard it comes to him, he can also apologise wholeheartedly. He did all those things already, months ago. Which is why he was able to keep her as a friend, not a close one, more like an acquaintance. And she's happy, he can see that, knows it.
Why does he feel like he's still drowning? He's already been pulled from the vast ocean of hers. Harry groans, struggles to open his gate, his good spirits from this morning nowhere to be found.
He doesn't know if it's the memory of her, the fear of loneliness, coincidence and laziness, or a bad habit? But he doesn't text the girl with warm brown eyes, instead he plays the voicemail that sometimes haunts his nightmares, on repeat, for the rest of the night.
We are not just friends — part 9
Chris Evans x bi!latina!character (Sofia is a person of color, she's brown.)
Chris and Sofia meet when their best friends started dating, it all started at friends with loads of bumps on the road.
Warnings: drinking, smoking, drug use (weed), assault, Chris being Steve Rogers, commitment issues, my girl Sofia kinda messy, lots of fucking (eventually)
This is slow burn at its best, at least emotionally.
“ It's not fancy, isn't it?” Sofia asked going through her suitcase in the middle of the bed, hoping to find something to wear.
“ Nah, it's casual. Like a get-together—” Chris answered her thought the phone, they were Facetiming as they both get ready.
“Alright, what about… this and this?” She said holding up a red mini skirt with a red crop top. “I feel like matching.”
“Love it, red suits you. “ Chris answered and Sofía wiggle on the bed and began undressing, not caring for modesty as Chris looked at her.
“Enjoying the show? creep. “ She laughed as Chris rubbed her beard watching her get undressed, she wasn't being sexy or anything close, Chris just find her fucking hot all the time.
“Sure, don't mind me.” Chris answered her smiling. “want me to pick you up?”
“No honey, it's okay. I'll Uber the rest so you can't have to drive back and forth.’
‘I really don't mind, Sof.’
‘I know, but you know how I am with getting ready. I don't want you running late and shit. It's fine, you go ahead and I'll text you when I'm there.”
‘You sure?”
‘Yes, dumbass. You go ahead I'll text you. “ She said kissing the screen making Chris laugh.
“Alright, I'll be going then. call me. “
They hung up and Chris go ahead and grabbed his things and went ahead to his friend's birthday.
And Sofia took her time and arrived forty-five minutes later cause she can.
Chris was already waiting for her outside, having a sly smoke and playing with his phone on the side of the building, high-end building on LA.
Sofia called him out and shake her head when she saw the cigarette on his hand and Chris put it out.
“Sorry, I know you hate it. “
“It's bad for you. “
“I know—You're pretty,” Chris observed her, she was wearing what she shows him earlier, looked much better on her, red was definitely her color.
“Do I? I feel a little silly. I nervous—I don't know.” She nervously laughed shrugging as Chris pulled her in for a quick kiss. “I don't know anyone.”
“Neither do I, really. I know some of them.” Chris told her and she hummed. “I'm a little anxious.”
Sofia smiled and kissed him again, he wrapped his arms around her waist and fight the urge to grab her ass.
“We should go in.” He said letting her go and she agreed, rearranging her skirt and walked in with Chris.
The party wasn't what she was expecting, you know like a get together a few beers and friends hanging out but no, it was a full-blown party with a lot of people.
She didn't say anything as Chris greet people and introduced them to her, it was a little taxing but she did it anyway because it's Chris.
“Dude, so many people.”
“Yes, I thought it wasn't like this.” He looked at her with an apologetic look.
“It's fine, you do your thing and I'll mingle with that bar over there.” She told him with a smile and almost pushed him towards his friends.
“You sure?”
“Yes, go.” Sofía pushed him again and Chris leans over and plants a quick kiss on the top of her head.
“You're the best, it will be just for a little bit. I'll be back.” He kissed her again and disappear on the crowd and she looked forward to the bar, maybe getting a little bit tipsy will loosen her up but the crowd here was way different to what she and Mandy hung out back at home.
She felt pretentious wearing matching top and skirt, she couldn't imagine what she would feel wearing a thousand-dollar dress like the bunch of girls over there.
She grabbed a beer and isolated herself to a corner, where she could observe the party—witch was absolutely cool with her, what she wasn't expecting was seeing Chris's ex-girlfriend chatting with some girls and pointing out exactly where he was.
“Oh boy.” She mumbles drinking her beer and looked at her walk through until she reached him and he acted amicable with her, hugs and cheeks being kissed.
At that moment she decided to get fucked up and dance if he was going to be with his ex might as well she find something to do at this stupid party. Sofia quickly drank her beer and head back to the bar to do a few shots, clearly catching the attention of a few guys hovering over there.
“Hey,” One of them says, he had a kind smile and was attractive enough.
“Hi.” She said back, smiling too.
They chatted for a bit, his name was Tom, he's a publicist and single.
“You came here with someone?” Tom asked as she sips her drink, the second one.
“Mm-hm, with my friend.” She vaguely said, not wanting to hint that it was Chris.
“Oh, do I know her?” He asked, trying to find out who and assumed it was a girl.
“It's a he and probably you do.” Sofía quickly answers and without thinking looked back at where he was before and his back was facing her while he talked to his ex's ear. Sofia couldn't help but sigh deeply and drank the rest of the drink. “Can I have another one?” She flagged the bartender and he quickly began making her another.
“You work on the industry?” He asked taking a sip of his own drink and Sofia realized that he really didn't like this dude anymore, she didn't want to talk about work of the industry.
“Not really—”
“You should, you've got this young Salma Hayek thing going on.” He said moving his hands and Sofia raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, we're both Latinas.”
“Really? where you from?”
“Yeap, Argentina,” Sofía answered back and quickly looked back at Chris and he kept talking with his ex, now drinks in hand and he had that pink on his cheeks and moving his hands.
man, am I jealous? She thought for a second but quickly shake her head and looked at Tom, trying to find out if she could possibly, at least, make out.
But he was a little off-putting and Sofia started thinking that he was recruiting or some shit—witch she wasn't interested at all. Leave that to the talented people, she wasn't that.
“—You know, I could introduce you to our manager. We're looking for someone with your profile, there's a lot of new—”
“I'm going to stop you there because I've got no interest in having a manager or working on the industry.” She said that with a mocking tone. “I'm good at my normal job.”
Tom actually scoffed at her then shake his head, “Then what are you doing at a party like this? are you an escort?”
Sofia was the one to scoff now and give Chris another look, and his ex had her arm around his waist they were going to make out anytime soon. Now she really wanted to get the fuck out of here.
“I came with a friend, whatever. Bye,” She waves him off and turned her back at him, not bothering to see if he walked away or not.
She pulled her phone and furiously text Mandy.
Christofer, it's all cozy with his fucking ex and people here are treating me like I am a fucking escort.
“I'm a fucking idiot.” She mutters to herself after she press sends, totally regretting that because she knows how she exaggerates things.
Baby, leave that party. Go to the hotel and we'll talk.
Sofia stare at the screen and decided that Mandy's idea wasn't bad, at all. She wasn't going to wait around as Chris fuck the girl—and she did felt bad like it wasn't enough for him. She looked one more time and indeed, they were absolutely making out.
“Yeah, fuck this.”
~~
“I can't do this anymore,” Chris push her away and shake his head."I came here with someone, I can't be doing this. She's important to me,"
She scoffed, "Yet, you are here making out with me. Why then? " She asked and tried to resume the kissing.
"No, I can't—I shouldn't be here," He turned around and drank the rest of his beer praying that Sofia didn't see that.
Of course, she wasn't picking up, Chris began to panic actual panic as he quickly typed.
Where are you? can't find you.
Sof, are you okay?
Please call me.
Sofía was walking as she looked at the screen and scoffed, the hotel wasn't that far and she feels like walking trying to clear off her mind. For a moment there she had those awful flashbacks with Tiffany, she used to do the same shit, worst of all she allowed it. She knew that this was nothing, that they weren't absolutely nothing besides friends but if this is how he was gonna behave as friends.
"I'm walking to the hotel," She spoke softly at the phone, it was Mandy.
"What happened?" She asked and Sofia told her the whole thing. "Well fuck, he's calling me,"
"Yeah I should probably let him know that I'm heading to the hotel before he called the police," Sofia said softly and sighed. "Tiffany used to pull this shit—
"He's not Tifanny, "
"Yeah, I'll talk to you back at the hotel. I'm going to text him and buy booze." Sofia said and tell their goodbyes and hung up.
Chris was calling again and Sofia picked up.
"I'm fine, I'm going to the hotel."
"Jesus Christ, Sofia. I was freaking out,"
"Yeah, sure," She laughs bitterly. "Whatever, I'm going to sleep. I'll text your assistant the details for the contract and photoshoot. You still wanna do that?, or I call the whole thing off? no pressure."
"You saw, don't you?"
"Whole fucking party saw that kiss, dude." She said softly, "It's okay, but I don't wanna be in the middle of nothing. I thought you had figured it out and moved on,"
"I did fuck. I'm sorry Sof—"
"Did you? you were just fucking kissing her."
"It took me by surprised, I told her I was with you that—come on, can we talk about it?"
"We are,"
"In-person, Sof."
"I'm tired Chris, I'm kinda drunk and I'm about to enter the hotel lobby." She said softly. "Are you in for tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'll be there," Chris answered defeated. "I'm sorry Sofia."
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." She hung up.
~~
He fucked up.
Thanks everyone! ❤️
Mafia BTS! One Step Closer
This was requested by @kpopgirlbtssvt
This is honestly my favourite imagine. Read my other mafia imagines on my blog, I'll try updating the master list soon. I hope y'all like this one!
Let's get it!
Kim Seokjin:
After a month of living, or more like being forced to live with The Kim Seokjin, you figured that he wasn't so bad. He might have come off as intimidating at first but he honestly took great care of you and you couldn't help but like his company. When you were brought to his house, you were terrified. And Jin knew that too, maybe that's why he kept his distance. But eventually, you wanted him around you because it was maddening to be cut off from the entire world.
It was a long day of meetings and negotiations for Jin. He held his coat with one hand and dragged it behind him, climbing the steps to his house and telling the bodyguards that they could leave for the day. The thought of seeing you made him happy, only if it actually made you happy too. He unlocked the door and stepped inside his humble abode, sighing as he leaned against a wall. The smell of food filled his nostrils, making him frown. Hadn't the cook already left? He glanced at his watch, raising his eyebrows at the hour hand which pointed at 11. Walking towards the kitchen, he dropped his coat on the couch, wondering why you weren't sitting on it and watching TV like every day.
You carefully held the tray of food in your hand and made your way to the dining table. You had decided to make dinner for Jin and yourself. Blame it on the growing feeling of warmth every time you saw him but there was no turning back now. You let out a soft gasp and almost dropped the tray until Jin's hand rested beneath yours, steadying your stance. "You scared me." You mumbled and pushed him aside, continuing on your way to set the table. Jin's jaw went slack when he saw what you had done. Until a couple of weeks ago, you weren't even ready to be in the same room as him and now here you were, making him dinner. Jin bit his lip to suppress a smile, he felt nothing but profound admiration for you since he saw you and it only kept increasing.
"Are you just gonna stand there or will you join me? Perhaps, you can tell me if my food is better than yours?" You said, smiling slightly. Jin cleared his throat and nodded, taking a seat beside you on the table. You served his food despite his protests and waited eagerly for his reaction. He took a bite of the tempting meal and let out a moan. You chuckled, making him widen his eyes at the sound of your voice. He was definitely in love with how beautiful you sounded when you laughed. "I guess it's that good, huh?" You asked, placing your chin on the palm of your hand. Unable to say anything, Jin nodded. Of course, it was good, anything you did was good. You both finished eating in silence. When Jin stood up to clean up, you shook your head. "There's a hot bath waiting for you." You said and took the plates to the kitchen. Now it was getting too much for Jin. He really wanted to ask you what was going on and so he did. Just as you placed the plates in the sink, you felt hands on your waist before being turned to face Jin. You placed your hands on his chest to maintain the little distance that remained. "What is this, Y/N? Should I get my hopes up about our relationship or are you going to go back to being cold from tomorrow?" He asked, staring you down. You blushed and closed your eyes. How could he expect you to talk when he was standing so close to you? Gathering all the courage that you had, you opened your eyes and stood up straight. "Although you brought me here without my consent, you showed me that whatever people say about you isn't completely true. And clearly, you care about me so I'd be an idiot to not consider the chance of us being..... something." You said, fiddling with the buttons of his blue shirt. Your heart was pounding. This was basically your confession about how much you liked him. Suddenly, you felt him kiss your forehead and your eyes widened. He pulled back to find you staring at him with eyes still wide and lips parted. He chuckled before closing your mouth by pushing your chin up with his finger.
"I promise to give you the best of me."
Kim Namjoon:
Namjoon had been stressed since the very day he brought you home. You thought it was because of you but later on, you realized that this is what his life was. You wanted to find your own place to stay but Namjoon didn't let you. He said you weren't safe out there yet and he wasn't gonna let you risk your life. Completely oblivious to the fact that Namjoon liked you, you continued staying with him in his big house.
You sat up in your bed with a gasp, sweat trickling down your forehead. A nightmare had woken you up, a nightmare of the reality that you had escaped not too long ago. Your father's figure beating you and tying you down was vivid. It felt almost real. You took in deep breaths and closed your eyes to calm yourself down. With trembling hands, you reached out to the glass of water on the nightstand only to send it crashing down. You cursed under your breath when you heard the shattering of the glass. After listening to the sound of hurried footsteps, the door of your bedroom opened to reveal a panicking Namjoon, looking around the room for any signs of trouble. "Are you okay?" He asked, stepping inside. You switched on the bedside lamp and tried to get off the bed, completely forgetting about the broken shards. "I'm fi-ahh!" You let out a cry of pain, sitting back on the bed. Namjoon rushed to your side, seeing the shattered pieces of glass and your bleeding foot, he shook his head. Without a word, he lifted you up bridal style and took you to the bathroom. He set you on the black countertop and took out a first aid kit from the cabinet. "What happened?" He enquired while tending to the cuts. You stared at him intently. Why did you have to meet someone so handsome but so dangerous? "I had a nightmare. Sorry for waking you up." You apologized, hissing occasionally whenever the antiseptic made contact with your skin. He shook his head and grabbed a bandage to wrap up your foot. "You didn't wake me up, Y/N. You worried me." He said, not looking up to meet your eyes.
You blushed, your heartbeat becoming more audible to you. You liked him, didn't you? You snapped out of your thoughts when you saw him place the first aid box back in its place. You stepped down the counter and tried to walk, limping till your bed. Namjoon had no intentions of letting you go wherever you wanted to. You were completely different from the life that he had and he needed you. He just didn't want to scare you. Yes, he was being selfish for keeping you with him for his own mental stability but he knew he was the only one for you. At least he wanted to be. Cleaning up the broken glass, he switched off the lamp by your bed and turned to leave. His breath hitched when you held his hand. "Can you sleep here? Just for tonight?" You asked in a small voice, afraid that he was gonna reject you. He gently removed his hand from your hold making you sigh. Just like you thought. You raised your head when you heard the door to your bedroom close, eyes widening when you saw Namjoon move to the other side of the bed. He got in next to you, pulling the blanket up to cover you both. You quickly laid your head on his chest, not even realising what you were doing. But when it hit you, you mumbled a sorry and tried to move away, only to have him hold you tighter. Namjoon was scared that you'd be able to hear how bad his heart was pounding but he loved how you felt in his arms. Maybe you felt the same way? This thought made him ecstatic. "You know you're safe with me, right?" He asked, wanting to hear your voice. The light from the numerous skyscrapers illuminated the room, leaving shadows on the walls. "I do." You whispered, feeling content with your life. Yes, you had a rough life until now but it doesn't always have to be that way. Maybe Namjoon was the key to your happiness like you were for him. Maybe this was the start of something beautiful. After realising that you had fallen asleep, Namjoon carefully kissed your forehead, not wanting you to wake up. But you were awake and you heard the words that he muttered to you, the words that confirmed your feelings for him.
"I don't know what but something about you makes me feel a little more alive and a little less lost."
Tumblr media
Min Yoongi:
The hotel suite was quiet apart from the sounds of the television and the occasional howling of the wind outside. You stood near the huge glass separating you from the balcony which looked down at the entire New York city. Sighing, you went to the closet to change into something comfy. After about 20 minutes, you came to the conclusion that there was nothing in your closet which was as comfortable as Yoongi's shirt. You had worn it before when he wasn't home and quickly discarded it when he returned so what was stopping you this time? Changing into his white shirt, you went back and opened the door to the balcony.
In the three months that you were forced to stay with him, this was the first time you missed Yoongi's presence. You noticed that lately whenever you saw him, your hands would become clammy and your heart would race as if it were in a marathon. And the fact that he always took care of you wasn't helping. Sure, he kidnapped you as leverage against someone but he didn't hurt you at all. You watched as the rain started pouring and the sky turned darker. You closed your eyes and embraced the little droplets that touched your face. Not being able to contain your excitement, you ran out to the balcony and twirled around, letting the rain wash away your thoughts.
Yoongi entered the suite after meeting up with his members. You thought he brought you to New York because of some business he had to take care of, at least that's what he told you. But he had lied. He brought you here because he knew how much you wanted to travel around the world. This was just the beginning. He discarded his suit jacket and folded his sleeves, looking around for you. He longed for you in ways you didn't know. He used to think it was just a little attraction but later realised that he was whipped for you. Yoongi's heart skipped a beat when he saw you standing in the rain, wearing his shirt. But that wasn't the problem, the problem was that the shirt was now wet and it didn't do a very good job at hiding what was underneath. Yoongi blushed and clenched his jaw, trying to control himself. He slowly walked over to the entrance of the balcony, calling you inside. "Y/N, you're gonna get sick. Come inside now!" He said, loudly for you to hear him. You turned your head to see the man invading your thoughts. You bit your lip, realising that you were basically standing naked in front of him. Slowly, you went to where he stood, water running down your body. He stuck his hand out for you to take, not wanting you to slip on the marble. You took in a deep breath, it was now or never. Taking his hand, you tugged at it, catching him off guard. Yoongi moved closer to you, under the rain, confused by your actions. The rain drenched him but that was the least of his worries. His mind was running with thousands of things he wanted to do. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled his body against yours.
"Y/N, stop me before I do something you won't like." He mumbled, leaning his forehead against yours. Your breathing was heavy and so was his. You slowly pressed your lips against his. He was taken aback initially but soon moved his lips against yours. He dug his fingers into your hips and deepened the kiss. Eventually, you both pulled away, gasping for air in the rain. He had kissed you before but you had pushed him away. He was absolutely surprised but happy at the same time to have you kiss him. "Let's go inside before you catch a cold, yes?" He said, cupping your cheeks. You nodded shyly as he held your hand and took you inside. Embarrassed by what you had done, you started towards the bathroom without a word only to be stopped by Yoongi's hand gripping your wrist.
"That meant everything to me. I hope you know that."
Jung Hoseok:
You yawned while staring out at the moon, the dashboard clock contributing to illuminating the dark interior of the car. You glanced at the time, groaning on seeing the numbers. 2:03 AM. You turned your head to the driver's seat where Hoseok was supposed to be sitting. But he wasn't. Instead, he was inside that gloomy and creepy building, having an emergency meeting at this hour. You just wanted to sleep at home but he wasn't ready for someone to break in and take you away in his absence. You hated it. You hated that he was so protective of you. You hated that he had kept you with him against your will. And most importantly, you hated that you didn't hate him anymore. You shivered due to the excessive cold in the car, the air conditioner obviously doing its work. After hesitating for a bit, you turned off the AC and grabbed hoseok's jacket which hung at the back of his seat. Putting it on, you examined yourself in the small mirror, coming to the conclusion that you looked better in it.
You were almost dozing off when the door to the driver's side of the car opened, revealing a very tired and frustrated Hoseok. The meeting hadn't gone the way Hoseok wanted. He felt like he could blow someone's brains out but he tried to keep his calm when he remembered that you were here with him. He sat in his seat and glanced at you, sharply inhaling when he saw you in his jacket, snuggled into the seat with your eyes closed. He cleared his throat and turned to close the door when you opened your eyes to look at him. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. It took longer than I thought. I completely regret waking you up to bring you with me." He apologized before sighing and leaning his head on the steering wheel. You frowned at how upset he looked, concern spreading across your face. "It didn't go well, did it?" You asked in a soft voice. Hoseok felt his heart swell at hearing your calming voice. He had completely forgotten how much he loved to listen to you talk. Sometimes he'd purposely annoy you just to hear your outbursts. He shook his head, gripping the steering wheel tighter to prevent himself from throwing his arms around you. He lifted his head to look at you, eyes falling to his jacket. He mentally declared that you looked better in his clothes. Maybe, someday he'd get to see you in his clothes on a regular basis. "It was cold and I was underdressed." You explained, seeing him looking at his jacket. You glanced at your silk shorts. Definitely underdressed. Hoseok gave you a curt nod and turned around to start the car, only to be stopped by your hand on his shoulder. He turned his head to you, seeing the small smile on your face. "Whatever happened in there, I'm sure you'll figure it out." You said, praying for your words to turn out true. Not being able to control anymore, Hoseok wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to him. You gasped at the sudden gesture. Why weren't you pushing him away? Because strangely, you felt good being in his arms. Without a thought, you lifted your hand and hugged him back. Hoseok's eyes widened when you responded. He was expecting you to push him away and then slap him. He tightened his hold and buried his face in your neck. You closed your eyes and stayed like that for a minute before pulling away. Hoseok muttered a quick apology and you replied with a small 'it's okay', turning away from him to hide your blushing cheeks.
The soft purr of the engine comforted you throughout the ride as you leaned on the window, feeling your eyes getting heavier. Maybe it won't be so bad to fall for him. Hoseok kept stealing glances at you while driving simultaneously. He saw your eyes drooping, knowing you were gonna fall asleep any minute now. Just as your head tilted down, he stretched out his arm, making sure your head rested comfortably on it. Even though it was gonna hurt, for you he was ready to endure it. He knew that soon you'd want him just as much as he wanted you, he couldn't wait for that day. Smiling at your sleeping figure, he shook his head before mumbling to himself.
"Nothing in this world can intoxicate me as much as you do. And I love it."
Park Jimin:
You descended the smooth stairs, trying to ignore the hangover headache and focusing on the bigger problem that you were soon gonna face. The problem being none other than Park Jimin. It had been a week since the night when you told him that you wanted nothing to do with him and it was better if you two stopped seeing each other. Of course, you were surprised when he simply nodded and assured you that you won't ever see him again but it was hard to forget the hurtful look that he carried with him. The man who was supposedly ruthless, let you go because you wanted him to? Well, that was new. Since that night, you had spent every second reminiscing on how happy you felt when he was around, despite having witnessed him killing someone in cold blood. You were just scared, although you knew he wouldn't hurt you. The decision was taken in the spur of the moment and you wanted nothing more than to hug him and kiss him while apologizing. But you figured that he would think of you as a gold-digger, wanting him and leaving him as and when you saw fit. So you cried your heart out and ended up in a bar to try and forget about him. As if things couldn't get worse, Jimin was there and he saw you drinking non-stop. It angered him to see you getting wasted in a place like this. So when you were stumbling on your way outside the bar, he carefully took you to his home instead. Anything to be close to you. Jimin was in despair, he thought you were happy with him, he made sure of that. But obviously, he should have known better than to take you with him to the warehouse where he handled all his problems. He didn't want to kill someone in front of you but that stupid man was making inappropriate comments, all directed to you. And so that night ended with you telling him to leave you alone. He couldn't imagine you getting hurt by a rival or a power-hungry newbie, hence, the decision of giving you what you wanted.
You bit your lip on seeing Jimin sitting on the couch, a number of papers scattered in front of him and his back facing you. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you thought of what to say. But Jimin beat you to it. "You're awake. Good, I hope you took the pills I left by the nightstand. Someone will be taking you home in some time so be ready." He said, not even turning to look at you. Jimin was trying so hard not to give away how bothered he was by your presence. He was positive that if he turned to look at you, he would lose control and do something you wouldn't want. Whereas you, you were hurt. His cold behavior was like a stab to the heart. He made it seem like nothing happened between you two. Without knowing, a tear made its way down your cheek. You missed him terribly and you regretted leaving the best thing that happened to you. When you didn't respond, Jimin had no choice but to turn and check if you were even there. He was sure he had heard your footsteps. His heart broke on what he saw, you wiping away a tear and looking anywhere but him, trying to hold in your sobs. "Y/N, why are you crying?" He asked, standing up from the couch, cautiously approaching you. Your eyes widened when you heard him, you didn't think he was gonna look at you until you left. You were caught off guard, not knowing what to say. Before you could even think, the words had already left your mouth. "I can't do this anymore."
Jimin frowned. Your voice was a bare whisper but he heard it. "You can't do what?" He questioned again, narrowing his eyes at you. With that, you let a cry out, quickly covering your mouth with the back of your hand. Jimin froze in his place, this was the second time he was seeing you cry, the first time being when you both met. "I can't stay away from you! This entire week I've been thinking of ways to just apologize but you already hate me!" You cried, shaking your head. Now it was Jimin's turn to be caught off guard. Did you really just say you wanted to be with him? Your legs gave away and you started to fall to the ground but Jimin wrapped his arms around you, holding you in place. He hugged you, his head resting on top of yours while you cried in his chest. "I didn't mean it when I said I want nothing to do with you. I was just...scared. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Jimin." You mumbled. You both stayed like that until your crying came to a halt. "Did you really think I could hate you?" Jimin asked, feeling upset with himself. You nodded, not wanting to say anything. Jimin broke the hug and placed his hands on your shoulders. "The only thing I'm incapable of doing is hating you. The past week has been a nightmare for me because you weren't here. I'd take you back in a heartbeat, Y/N." He said, wiping away your tears. Without another word, you kissed him. He immediately returned the kiss, his hands tangling in your hair. He had been dreaming of his lips on yours, feeling ecstatic that this wasn't a dream anymore. Breathless you both pulled away, leaning your foreheads against each other.
"You drive me crazy, I'm never letting you leave me again."
Tumblr media
Kim Taehyung:
You carefully walked up the stairs with the cup of coffee in your hand. It was 1 AM and Taehyung had been in his study since he came home. You could tell it was one of those nights where he just wanted to be alone. In other words, nothing was happening the way he wanted it to. But you couldn't help yourself, you needed to know he was okay, even if he was gonna yell at you for entering his study which was prohibited. Reaching the door to the study, you took a deep breath before knocking on the door and opening it without waiting for an answer.
Taehyung had come home after finding out terrible news. Someone was threatening to kill you and the way they delivered the message wasn't very nice either. To say Taehyung was angry when he saw the dead body of one of his men bolted to the door of his warehouse was an understatement. The piece of paper stuck on the dead man's forehead which contained some horrible words directed to you only added fuel to the fire. Taehyung had marched into his study without even looking at you, he didn't want you to see him upset. Not that you would care about him. So when you entered his study holding a cup of coffee in your hand, he was shocked. He looked at you with a frown, watching your every move until you placed the coffee in front of him. "I made it less bitter, hopefully, it's up to your taste." You mumbled, clasping your hands behind you and looking down at your feet. Taehyung was the most ruthless yet generous mafia leader you had met. Correction. He was the only mafia leader you had met. But unlike what you expected, he took care of you in ways that touched your heart plenty of times. He paid for your mother's treatment and never hurt you once, causing your downfall into the endless pit called affection. You didn't want to say you loved him yet, you couldn't. Because despite everything, he still kept you in his house without your consent.
Taehyung stood up from his leather chair and took a step towards you, his proximity making you gulp. "Why are you here, Y/N? I told you not to enter this room, didn't I? Besides, it's late and you should be asleep." He said in a very calm voice. You slowly looked up at him through your lashes and bit your lip in nervousness. His eyes stared into yours, making you blush for some insane reason. You quickly looked away to avoid his gaze, taking in the interiors of his study. "I was just checking up on you." You stated, shrugging as if it wasn't a big deal. Taehyung raised his eyebrows at your words. Checking up on him? He tilted his head, looking at you from head to toe. What happened to you? "You seemed upset and you didn't even look at me when you came home. You also missed dinner. I was... worried." You sighed, finally meeting his gaze. Taehyung could feel his heart beating loudly in his chest. He couldn't believe the words leaving your mouth. When he didn't respond, you shook your head and went to sit on the couch right in front of where his table was. You leaned your back against the leather and stared at the ceiling, feeling embarrassed for even trying. "Someone wants to hurt you, Y/N." The words left taehyung's mouth before he could even think about them. You instantly widened your eyes and looked at him. "What?" You whispered, being caught off guard by his words. Taehyung's face turned serious as he walked towards you and kneeled down. He took your hands in his and looked at your scared face. "You heard me." He said, waiting to see how you react. This wasn't what you were expecting. You couldn't even begin to think about why someone would want to kill you. But for some reason, the news wasn't too scary. Because you knew he was with you. "You won't let that happen, right?" You muttered, looking at him with hopeful eyes. Taehyung smiled at your trust in him. He placed a hand on your cheek and caressed it. "Never." He whispered as you held his hand which was on your cheek. You slowly leaned forward and placed your lips on his forehead, his eyes closing at the contact. His heart was a mess now, he didn't want this moment to end. Only if he could stop the time. You pulled away and admired his face. He was truly an ethereal beauty. Opening his eyes, Taehyung gazed at you lovingly, kissing the palm of your hand as a blush crept up your cheek.
"I'd risk everything for you, if it meant having you by my side."
Jeon Jungkook
You glanced at the clock, groaning in frustration on seeing the time. 4:35 AM was no time to be awake and you knew that. But how could you sleep when Jungkook hadn't come home since he left the previous morning? Usually, you would be told if he was gonna come home late but this time there had been no calls. And the worst thing, you couldn't do anything but sit and wait. You stomped your feet and walked around the living room, looking at the door from time to time, as if that would make Jungkook come home. This was one of those times when you regretted everything you did. You had been nothing but cold to Jungkook since that day you stepped in his house. And even though sometimes you drove him insane with your attitude, he never lay a finger on you. You let out a defeated sigh and sat on the floor, burying your face in your hands. What if something really bad happened to him? What if he.........
You didn't even wanna think about it. "I'm sorry, Jungkook. Please come home now." Your voice cracked as tears stung your eyes. As if on cue, the door was thrown open and Jungkook staggered inside. You gasped and stood up, taking in his appearance. His face was twisted in pain due to the numerous bruises that littered his skin. Your eyes widened on seeing the blood on his shirt, seeping through from some wound on his abdomen that he clutched firmly. You ran to him and helped him stand straight before closing the door of the house. "Are you okay?!" You asked in a panic, not knowing what to do. Jungkook looked at you and frowned. He did feel a little drowsy but nothing he couldn't handle. He saw the tear on your cheek that had escaped your eye. He slowly reached his hand to touch your cheek and wiped the tear. "Are you crying, Y/N?" He asked, his voice a mere whisper. He felt happy seeing you cry, not because he was a psychopath but because it meant that you cared. And the fact that you stayed awake until this late, proved to him that you really did care. You sniffled and held his shoulder, trying not to meet his eyes. "Let's get you cleaned up." You mumbled and helped him to the bedroom. Once reaching the bedroom, you slowly moved to the bathroom along with a not-so-stable Jungkook. Sitting him on the counter, you grabbed the medical kit and tore apart his shirt before tossing it on the ground. Blood made you beyond squeamish and you really wanted to throw up but you held back. Patiently, you cleaned the large but shallow knife wound on jungkook's stomach and treated his bruises. "Y/N, you still haven't told me if you were crying. Was it because I came back alive?" He provoked you. You glared at him before cleaning up the bloody cotton swabs and bandages that lay around. You were hurt that he thought that way. You cried because he came back alive? Did he think you hated him that much? "Yeah right. I stayed awake until I got some kind of news about you only to have you ignore my calls. I worried my ass off and even thought of going out to find you myself. But of course, Y/N is only capable of hating Jeon Jungkook, isn't that right? You're unbelievable." You said, once again feeling the tears in your eyes. You never cried. You must be feeling too emotional. Without giving him another glance, you turned to leave the bathroom, gasping when his hand grabbed your wrist before turning you around to pull you close to him. Your noses almost touched, your hands were on his bare chest trying to maintain whatever distance remained. Jungkook tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. "You can't blame me, Y/N. Can you? I've been trying so hard to get you to stop acting so distant and cold. If you don't give me a chance then how am I going to show you how much you mean to me?" He asked, making guilt creep up your bones. He was right and you were already aware of that. After having a small internal battle, you wrapped your arms around him and hugged him, feeling him freeze at the sudden contact. Jungkook could feel his heart pounding so bad. This was the first time you had been so close to him and it was driving him crazy. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer if that was even possible. He buried his head in your neck and hummed at your scent. You were perfect. After a minute, you loosened your hold on him and prepared to pull away when he tightened his arms around you. "Just a minute more before you go back to being your old self." He said, making you frown at his words. "I won't." The words fell from your lips before you could contemplate them. Jungkook smiled, he was loving the way you were being a little more affectionate. He pulled away to look at you.
"I just wanna give you the crown you deserve, my Queen."
A part of me wanted to run away. Run away...from everyone. From Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook...just every single one of the boys, and never look back. No one would be hurt that way. No one would have to know anything.
But I wouldn't know what would've happened if I hadn't run.
Always this reason...I sighed. It was always this reason which kept me from running...kept me hopeful. That everything will be alright. That everything could be alright. And what was worse that it was true: even if I tried to deny it, I couldn't.
"Tell me what?" Jimin asked me when he found me silent for a while.
"Oh yeah." I kind of broke out of my reverie. "Umm.."
My phone rang at the exact moment, making both of us jump. Disappointed and relieved at the same time, I picked up the phone: disappointed because I had almost made up my mind to confess, and relieved because I had almost made up my mind to confess.
"Hello?"
"Y/N-ah," a familiar voice came in my ears, and I sighed. "Where are you?"
"I'm at...why are you asking?"
"Because you aren't replying to my messages." Jungkook whispered.
"Why are you whispering?" I frowned.
"Because I'm with the the boys right now." He sounded impatient. "Listen, just don't go over, I'm not going to be there."
"I'm already here." I rolled my eyes. "And I didn't come here for you. Tae had invited me here."
"Yeah I know- what? Tae hyung? But he..." He sounded confused. I had opened my mouth to tell him when he said, "Oh."
I sighed loudly. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jimin frown.
"Well what are you going to do now?" He asked.
"Umm..." I felt my mind changing its opinion very fast, and suddenly I was very nervous to say anything. To anyone.
"Take it slow, okay?" Jungkook said. "This is getting out of hand very fast. I'll come over afterwards, and we'll figure out what to do, yeah?"
That seemed like a better option from what I was originally going to do. "Okay, see you then." I hung up without answering, before Jimin got any more sceptical than he was right now.
"So..what were you going to tell me?" He asked again.
Shoot. What was I going to say now? "Umm..nothing important." I smiled nervously. "Aren't you going to ask who called?"
"No, why? Should I?" He asked, and then he laughed. "That rhymed."
I smiled at him for a brief second. I was feeling like I would faint from the nervousness...smiling even a little was a big achievement for me.
"I don't want to know who called you every time someone does. What do you think I am, your possessive boyfr-"
I widened my eyes, gasping a little unintentionally.
He straightened up, and cleared his throat. "Um..I mean, would you like something to eat?"
"Would you cook?" I smiled.
"For you?" He smiled too. I nodded slowly, giving him the cue to go on. He kept looking at me for a few seconds before saying anything.
"Naah, why would I go through such troubles for you?"
"Hey." I pouted, smacking him on his arm. He laughed harder than before. "Aish, so cute...I can if you're hungry."
"Sure, but we can order something...it will be tastier."
"Hey." He pouted and smacked me on my arm, mocking me. We laughed together.
"Why don't we sit?" I suggested.
"And then what?"
"Can't we just sit?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, yeah..sure we can." He said, combing his hair with his hand. "I have something for you. Wait here."
I sat down on the couch, while he ran towards the kitchen. I smiled thinking about him, and then I thought about Tae. Oh how I was going to kill him the next time I saw him.
"Here." He came back and sat beside me, holding a packet of jelly beans in his hands. "We can eat this."
I laughed, and he frowned. "What happened? Is there something wrong? Do I eat too much?"
"No, I was just...remembering something Jungkook had said about jelly beans." I frowned, remembering when he had called me.
"Oh." He looked down, while saying slowly, "Can you just focus on me when you're with me for a change?"
"Why are you saying that?"
"You're always thinking about something else." He put the packet on the table, maybe because he was avoiding my gaze. "Tae, Jungkook, the whole group sometimes, I just..." He sighed, turning back to me.
I pouted. "Is this because of the soulmates conversation we were having when I wasn't answering your questions?"
He shook his head. "No it's not just that. It's just...a lot of times, you just...are thinking about something else. Anyways, forget that."
"Yeah, okay." I looked down, before shifting myself closer to him and putting a hand on his hand. "Whatever I did, I'm sorry. That wasn't intentional. And also...I can never ignore you....you are special to me."
He looked in my eyes. "Special as in...?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. You're just...special."
He looked away, but I could see a hint of smile on his face before he did. "Can I ask you something? I mean, I have already asked you but...you didn't answer it back then."
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me right now. "Yes."
He turned back to me. "Do you believe in soulmates?"
I looked at him, trying to find the purpose of this question in his eyes. His soft black eyes were telling me nothing...at the same time, maybe everything.
"Not right now. Maybe if I find mine." I breathed...his face was close to mine. "What about you?"
He leaned in close, almost a little too close for comfort. "Same..I didn't believe in them either before."
I flinched from the closeness. "Have you found yours then?"
He looked in my eyes meaningfully, trying to find something in them. For a second my breath was hitched in my throat...he was too close, this was not good.
Suddenly I realised something.
If I was here for even a bit longer, I was going to end up hurting him.
"Actually, yeah. Y/N, I..."
I got up abruptly. "I've gotta go." I said, and ran for the door.
"Y/N, what happened?" He was surprised, but he didn't follow me.
I stopped, and turned back. "I have to do something...I'll talk to you tomorrow." With that I dashed out of the door. "Maybe." I said afterwards, when I was out of his earshot.
I ran almost all the way to my house, my throat choked up. This was getting worse and worse. I shouldn't have done it in the first place; I shouldn't have lied to anyone like this. But I did anyways...and here I was, knee deep in lies and I was hurting the people I loved the most in the world. And myself.
I was almost at my door when I collided with someone. "Sorry", I said, and then looked up. "You?"
"I told you I was coming", he said with a worried look on his face from when he had seen me.
"Kookie."
That was all I could say before I finally broke. I embraced him in a tight hug, and started sobbing. He was surprised for a moment, then hugged me back, caressing my head.
"Chocolate, what happened?"
"I can't do this anymore, Kookie." I said between sobs. "I can't lie to him anymore. I shouldn't have done it in the first place, I..." A fresh wave of emotions hit me, and I started sobbing harder than before.
"Y/N-ah..." He started, but didn't continue. Instead, he kissed me lightly on my head. "I am sorry, it was all my idea."
I didn't say anything, still sobbing in his chest.
"If you want, you can tell him everything." He whispered.
"How?" I looked up at Jungkook, my eyes red from tears.
"I..." He looked at me, speechless.
I clutched his jacket fiercely, pouring out everything I had hidden for all this time. "How can I tell Tae that I lied to him? How can I tell him that I lied about having a crush on Jimin so that I could get closer to him, because he is the one I have loved all along??"
"I...don't know. We'll find a way, I promise you."
"He's going to hate me, Kookie!!" I screamed, tears pouring down my cheeks. "And Jimin...I'm going to hurt him when he finds out!" I buried my head in his jacket, sobbing again.
Jungkook didn't say anything. He just stood with me in his arms, his eyes closed with worry. It was quiet for a while, until a voice pierced the silence.
"What?"
Opening his eyes, Jungkook turned around, and froze.
"Tae hyung?"
Oh What A Wedding
Tumblr media
Pairing: Female reader x BTS
Chapters: 1|2|3
Word count: 3k
Summary: You’re a new novelist and your little sister is getting married. Because of work, you could only show up two weeks before the wedding. While preparing for the wedding, the groomsmen catch your attention, but not as much as you catch theirs. They make a bet as to who can win your heart first and you may have just found your next novel.
Notes: The song used for the dance scene is House of Cards by BTS. To help the imagination. (;
Everyone else had fallen asleep. Taehyung and Jimin passed out over towards the pool. Jungkook was sprawled out across the lawn, half full cup still in his hand. Jin and the others had gone back to their rooms hours ago. Everyone but you.
You had stopped drinking about half way through the night. You did get drunk for a little while, but it had run its course and you could tell you were sobering up. Despite all of the night's festivities, you still weren't tired.
You decided to go to the linen closet, getting out blankets for the boys outside. Once you closed the closet door, there was a Yoongi staring back at you. It made you jump and he smiled.
“Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. Just wanted to see how you were doing after all that alcohol.” He looked at the blankets in your arms. “Cold?” He asked.
You nudged him gently with your elbow as you started walking. “No, not me. The boys fell asleep outside. I wanted to make sure they had a blanket.”
“Wow, even when you drink you take care of others. Normally we just let the boys deal with whatever problems they caused. Toughen em up, ya know?”
She shook her head. “I can’t. It's just not who I am.”
You made it out to the yard, handing Yoongi one blanket as you took the largest one, carefully laying it on top of Taehyung and Jimin. You walked over to Jungkook, taking the cup out of his hand and dumping it in the grass.  You then grabbed the blanket from Yoongi and covered him up. You blushed softly when you heard Jungkook mumble your name before he turned over and continued to sleep.
When you walked over to Yoongi, he smirked at the blush on your face. He poked your cheek with one of his slender fingers. “What's all this for?” he asked.
You bit your lip as you looked back to Jungkook and then back to Yoongi. “I think Jungkook might have a crush on me.”
Yoongi's eyes widened before he chuckled. “I'm sure it's possible. But I can tell you from experience that he probably just wants to fuck you.”
You shrugged as you walked back into the house. It wasn't a bad thought. Jungkook was attractive enough. You smirked before plopping back down on the couch that you both had sat in earlier, Yoongi following you.
“He did say I looked hot as fuck today,” you said, recalling the memory.
“I wouldn't have said it that way, but he wasn't wrong. I bet everyone thought you looked great.”
You blushed softly before looking up at Yoongi. He was watching you intently until you locked eyes. He was the first to look away. He ran a hand through his hair before giving you a sheepish grin.
“Anyway, I should probably get back to bed. You should too. You're going to be tired tomorrow.”
You stood up and stretched a bit. “Yeah, I guess you're right.”
“Yeah, Hobi is good at wearing you out. Trust me.”
You looked at Yoongi with confusion. He smirked. “Oh, no one told you. You have dance practice tomorrow. Your sister wants us all to learn this routine. And Hobi is in charge. So he'll be teaching you later.”
You groaned. “Dancing? Really? My sister is trying to kill me, I swear.”
Yoongi chuckled. “Don’t like dancing, huh?”
You sighed and crossed your arms. “It's not that. I'm just not the best at it. I did one year of dance as a kid and the teacher begged my parents to leave me out the next year. All I wanted to do was sit and read.”
Yoongi smiled before giving you a soft pat on the head. “You'll be okay. Hobi will take great care of you. Now go get some sleep or you'll regret it tomorrow.”
You nodded before turning to head towards your room. You walked a couple of feet before stopping and turning towards him again. “Thank you Yoongi.”
He gave you a nod in response before you turned back and made your way to your room. You could have sworn you saw a blush on his cheeks. Maybe you had just imagined it. You shook your head at the thought before closing your door behind you. You were more tired than you realized because as soon as you hit the pillow, you were out.
****
You knew you had heard your name, but you only mumbled before turning in your bed, pulling your blanket tighter to yourself. It was like high school all over again. Your mother would give up soon, letting you wake up and take the punishment from school for being late.
But this wasn't your mother. Hobi didn't like to wait. And when you didn't show up on time to practice, he went on a man hunt. He had been knocking at your door for over five minutes but you showed no signs of getting up.
This man hunt just turned into a kidnapping mission. Getting into your room was too easy, considering you didn't lock your door when you had passed out. Once inside your room, he scanned for you, chuckling when he saw your current state. You were curled up into a giant ball, your blankets wrapped around your legs and drawn up into your hands as if hugging a giant pillow.
Hobi sighed before walking over to the side of the bed your face was on. He bent down in front of you before starting to yell.
“GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!” He screamed at you, causing your eyes to pop open in surprise, your body reacting by slipping off the back side of the bed with a thud.
“Ouch! Hobi! What the fuck man!” You shouted as you stood, rubbing your butt in response to the fall.
“Don't Hobi me! You were supposed to be at practice over an hour ago. Let's go. I've only got two weeks to get you ready for this wedding. And unfortunately I've had the displeasure of seeing your old dance recital videos. We need every minute we can get,” he teased.
You glared at him before grabbing one of the pillows that had fallen to the floor and chucked it at him. “Oh shut up. I'll get ready! To be fair no one told me about this dance stuff until Yoongi, this morning.”
Hobi raised an eyebrow. “Yoongi huh?” He pursed his lips before shaking his head. “Well now you know. So go get out of your bathing suit and into the dress. It should be in your closet. Now let's go.” He had walked over to you and rushed you over to the closet.
“We'll be over in the work out room in your parents house.” He called out as he made his way out of the door so you could change.
You yawned as you shuffled over to your closet. You opened the door to see a beautiful azure dress hanging on the back of it. You stepped back as you held the bottom of the skirt out to get a better look. You really had to give your sister credit. She was really good at her job. She had designed the entire wedding party’s clothing from the moment Shane had proposed.
You let out another yawn before you started to shimmy out of your bathing suit from the previous night. You gathered some underwear from one of your dresser drawers and the pair of spankies that were left on top of your dresser. After getting your undergarments situated, you went for the dress.
You had to unzip the dress first before you could attempt to slip it on. When you finally did, you turned to look at yourself in the mirror. The dress was a beautiful azure color. It was fifties inspired with it’s sweetheart neckline, high waist, and flared skirt. You were able to connect the strap behind your neck but you realized you weren’t going to be able to zip it up. Your sister might be good at her job, but she’s not perfect. You made a mental note to remind her to create dresses without the need for someone ELSE to zip you up.
You sighed before holding the dress to your chest with one hand. Best to keep it in place to avoid slips on your way to find someone to zip you up. You left your room and made your way down the hallway, hoping to find someone quickly to zip your dress for you. To your dismay, not a single person was inside the guest house. You groaned before trekking off towards the main house.
You walked through the back patio door and into the kitchen. Still no one to be seen. You weren’t expecting to find your parents at this time of day. They had probably already left for work. But no one else could be found. You walked past the kitchen and headed down the hallway to the home gym. You could hear music playing the closer you got to the room.
As you approached the door, you peered around the door frame, looking into the room. You saw a very familiar pink headed boy dancing along with the beat of the song. It was faster paced, something a little too hiphop for your taste. You couldn’t help but stare as you watched the way his body naturally moved with the music. You prayed to all the gods in the world that this was not the dance your sister was forcing you to learn.
As Jimin had turned around in his dance, he noticed you peeping on his dancing and he stopped, giving you a big grin. “You can come in Y/N! I was just having fun while we waited for you.”
You blushed when you realized you had been caught. You sheepishly stepped into the room, looking over to find Hobi sitting in a chair near the stereo. Both their eyes were locked on you, which didn’t help the redness in your cheeks.
Jimin smiled as he walked up to you. “Wow, you look great. That’s your dress? It’s so pretty.”
You gave him an uneasy smile before fidgeting with the hem of your skirt. “Yeah, I’m not really used to wearing this kind of stuff. And my sister is making me dance in it.” You sighed before looking up to Jimin. “What are you doing here anyway? I know Hobi is teaching me, but I thought Namjoon was my partner for the dance.”
Jimin pouted before crossing his arms. “Are you saying you don’t want me here?” Your eyes grew wide but Jimin smiled before you could speak. “I’m only kidding. Hobi asked me to be your partner for now. Namjoon had something else to do.” He leaned in closer to you, lowering his voice to a whisper. “But between you and me, I think it’s because he can’t dance very good so he’s waiting until he gets better before he practices with you.”
You giggled before nuding Jimin. “That’s not very nice.”
Hobi rolled his eyes before moving in between the two of you and walking over towards the center of the floor. “Namjoon isn’t the best dancer, but his moves still put yours to shame Y/N. You need this practice more than he does.” Hobi said before eyeing you over. “You’ve already kept me waiting an hour. Are we going to start or not?”
Your face grew red with embarrassment at being called out before you lowered your head and walked over to the center of the floor as well.
“Now, this isn’t going to be easy. Your sister wants this to be very smooth. It’s all about the connection between you and your partner. One of the other reasons I asked Jimin to come help was because I thought you’d be the most comfortable around him. Especially for this kind of dance.” Hobi said as he began to pace the dance floor, turning on a song. The soft taps of a few piano keys began to play.
“This dance is going to involve a lot of touching. It’s a slower paced song with a lot of emotion.” He walked out in front of you, turning his back to you as he began to move. His body started to move to the beat.
As you watched, you noticed Jimin move to your side, casually mimicking some of the moves that Hobi was doing. During the instrumental break of the song, Hobi had turned around, still moving but meeting your eyes this time.
“I will show you your steps. Jimin will fill in as Namjoon. I want you to watch us as we move.” Hobi said before turning to Jimin, giving him a nod. Jimin stepped up towards him, wrapping his arms around Hobi’s waist.
You stepped back as you watched the two move to the beat of the song. Jimin’s hands were wandering over Hobi’s arms and waist in such a manner that it caused you to blush. You kind of wished it were you, but seeing the way the two were dancing didn’t bother you one bit. In all honesty, it had stirred up that feeling between your thighs again.
They acted so naturally. Their movements were so fluid and graceful that you would have thought them to be more than just friends. There was no awkwardness between them despite the closeness of their body’s and the intimacy of the dance itself. You were totally awestruck when the final notes of the song drifted off from the stereo.
You could have watched them for hours. You really wished you could have. But the look on Hobi’s face made you realize that it was your turn. You had to make your body do what his just had. He looked you over before motioning for you to come and take his spot.
You bit your lip as you shuffled forward.“Hobi, I don’t think I can do what you two just did.” You turned to look at him. “My body just doesn’t move like that.”
Hobi gave you a reassuring smile. “That’s why we’re here. We’re here to get you to that point. Otherwise we would have just thrown you to Joonie and let him eat you alive.” Hobi looked over to Jimin, giving him a soft wink.
Jimin snorted with laughter when he realized what Hobi had meant; the bet. Jimin moved forward, wrapping his firm arms around your waist and pulling you against his chest, catching you off guard. “Don’t worry Y/N. Hobi is a great teacher. And I’m pretty patient. We’ll get you where you need to be.”
Your face turned bright red, causing Hobi to laugh. “It’ll be okay Y/N. Let’s get into first position and we’ll go from there.”
You took a deep breath before nodding. You slowly let out your breath as Jimin released you and you moved into the first pose you remember Hobi doing. “Okay, we can try. But I’m warning you two, you’re going to hate this.”
****
As soon as the song ended, you plopped down onto your butt, sweat dripping down the side of your face as you tried to catch your breath. Jimin was breathing heavy, but stayed on his feet, looking down at you. Hobi huffed when he saw you sit down but decided to let it go. He walked over to the table, grabbing three bottles of water.
“Are you okay?” Jimin asked as he crouched down to meet your eye level.
You nodded as you wiped the sweat from your forehead onto your hand before wiping it on your dress. “Yeah, I’m okay, just tired. I need a minute.”
Jimin smirked but nodded as he stood. He reached out to grab the water bottle that Hobi had brought over to them.
“Tired? It’s only been two hours!” Hobi said as he handed you a bottle as well.
You groaned and fell back onto the floor. “Two hours of nonstop dancing is more exercise than I’ve done since high school. Cut me some slack,” you complained.
Hobi sighed before deciding to sit down on the floor near you, Jimin following his lead. “I guess not everyone is used to this kind of stuff like we are.” Jimin said as he nudged Hobi.
Hobi rolled his eyes. “Yeah. I guess most aren’t. I kind of forget not everyone is like we are.”
You looked over towards the boys. “But aren’t you guys just models. Why do you have to go through this kind of work out?”
Hobi smiled. The first time you’d seen him smile since his dancing with Jimin. “Well, we have to stay in shape. Some like to go lift or run. But Jimin and I love dancing.”
Jimin nodded and gave you his full faced smile. “We really do. There’s something more meaningful to our exercise when we dance. We aren’t just picking up heavy things or running distances. We’re making something beautiful.”
You nodded before taking a swig of the water. “Okay, that makes sense. You guys are amazing, I'll give you that much.”
Jimin snorted before patting your head. “Oh honey, you should have known that from the start. Have you seen us? We're like sex on legs.”
“And great legs at that.” Hobi said as he walked around Jimin, looking him over before looking at you and winking.
You nearly spit out your water at his comment. Jimin looked at you worriedly while Hobi tried to stifle his laughter.
“Al-alright. That's enough of a break. We've still got two more hours of practice.”
You groaned before standing up and tossing your water bottle over to the corner. You moved your body into first position and turned to Jimin.
“Wait. Did he say two more hours?”
