Your latest Swanatello comic hit me like a truck…. That bit about forgetting and crying and being useless? The way Donnie feels he used to me smart but isn’t anymore? THAT’S ME. I went from being physically and mentally able to disabled overnight (literally, went to sleep one day, couldn’t wake up the next day, they still don’t know what caused it). Memory problems, comprehension and cognitive problems (I could not write my own name), unable to physically get out of bed…. I’ve gotten a lot better, but your comic just summed up those feelings of frustration and guilt PERFECTLY. It was like looking in a turtle shaped mirror. The whole thing is like looking in a turtle shaped mirror…. Swanatello is kind of a brilliant disability allegory actually… Donnie is trapped by circumstances he didn’t choose, his body and mind and abilities are affected….
<3
It makes me really happy to know that this story resonates with people and can speak to other peoples' experiences with memory loss/cognitive disability/etc. I will keep on doing my best with it and I appreciate y'all's support ; w ;

every day someone on this app says joel took away ellie’s agency and every day i wanna scream about it WE SHOULDNT ACTUALLY, IN FACT, LET TRAUMATISED FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRLS SACRIFICE THEMSELVES WHEN THE REASON THEYRE SO READY TO DIE IS INTRINSICALLY LINKED TO THAT TRAUMA! and actually the fact that the fireflies were so ready to exploit that trauma and use it to justify killing her (i.e. marlene saying she’d want this as tho that would negate the horror of what she was doing) has more to do with ellie’s agency than anything else lmao

I really like how Thanks to Them makes Belos physically and literally represent his core character traits of manipulating people and discarding them the second they fulfill their purpose and are no longer useful to him by making his main powerset in the episode possessing things and then discarding them, usually completely stripped of life.

has anyone gotten the idea that odysseus' storyline in hades 2 is a depiction/exploration of trauma over his SA and how he's blaming himself for things that were out of his control? because that's the impression i'm getting from what i've seen. he talks about "goddesses" as his "greatest weakness" and that "he's not one to say no to them"...
when mel invites him to the bath, he brings up mortals having different standards for intimacy than gods and how it usually has a more romantic/sexual connotation. she then asks if he's uncomfortable and he has a startled reaction and brings up circe and calypso again (but never actually by name)
(this isn't ship/romance bait btw. odysseus knew mel as a kid and they're stated in-game to have a sibling/uncle-niece relationship)
also he grew apart from penelope after his return, but the game makes a point of showing that his love for penelope and telemachus is what drove him on at all so that element of his character isn't brought into question

I'm a huge fan of how they framed Joel's hospital fight. The gunshots are muted and the music is somber. Yeah, Joel saved Ellie, but he's not framed as the good guy as he continued to run through that hospital and kill everyone in sight. He may have saved his world but he screwed over everyone else. Joel isn't a hero. He's a parent who didn't want to lose another kid
